[00:00:33] Sports Reports, no gimmicks, no clowns 2-5, Mr. Lodicle, we run this town Real talk only, no chasing, no doubt From the east to the west, it's the order we shout It's about to go down Yes
[00:01:00] You know what I'm saying, hopefully the rest of y'all out there Didn't get spammed like I did with LeBron scoring his first basket as a 76er Yeah, that's what type of time We on tonight Shout out to Tracy Morgan, like he missed the logical Didn't see it, but that man said Bronny looked like he need to be playing Juco ball But uh, Sports Reports is on his head Those are the sounds in your ear Obviously, basketball is back So we're gonna give you our thoughts
[00:01:30] Our preview We're gonna talk a little NFL to include How did they come up with that? There was no wrongdoing in the Jalen Hurts situation And then, of course We gotta talk about all things college football But before we do all that Like, review, subscribe, share, rate Do all the free things Do all the good things Liquid Death in hand We are everywhere that you get your podcasts And make sure you're checking out Say Less, Say More Even though my wife keeps texting me
[00:02:00] Even though I'm trying to do a show So, let's get right to it Mr. Logical I'm just gonna ask you plain and simple Before we talk about all these teams And get through what we need to get through Is the West a San Antonio, Oklahoma City collision course again? Nah, I don't think so I think Minnesota's gonna play a lot of fun basketball I think the energy's gonna be right It's gonna be very, uh It's gonna be like reckless entertainment
[00:02:30] But I think they just have scores I mean, you have LaMelo Ball Who's, even though he shoots a lot He does like the pass He likes spectacular pass anyway Kaminga And, you know AE High-flying guys attacking the rim Um Bones Highlands on it So, I think they have a lot of young Guys that wanna run and gun And I think they're all gonna kind of take on the personality They're two Two stars And LaMelo and Anthony Edwards Which can be like, you know what?
[00:02:59] It might be some games They win 118 to 116 Just because they've been playing reckless But they'll win it And then they're gonna go in a press conference They're gonna say a lot of stuff That gets bleeped And then they just gonna go about their business I think that I think they are Um I would like I would like I'd like to throw them in the mix It's not many teams I mean, you can probably give me a breakdown on Denver Maybe you give me No, I'm choosing violence A scary Portland scenario
[00:03:28] No, I'm choosing violence Let's hear it I'm choosing violence I'm staying within the state of Texas So This is what I was thinking about So the last two years The Houston Rockets have been You know, in the mix If you will In some form From shape or form You know, the first year You know, they were the two seed And then they lost in the first round To Golden State You know, they didn't have the experience
[00:03:57] They got Jalen Green out of there You know, defense was on point But they just couldn't put the ball in the basket Last year, you know, they came out And, you know, they were still a good basketball team They finished as the five seed last year But won 52 games Because that's how the West is You know, and The thing that stood out to me Was that we were talking about Kevin Durant's health And, you know, how he doesn't play a lot of games
[00:04:26] Well, he played 78 games last year The thing that I don't like, though Is that Him, Amen And Jabari Smith Were top five in minutes played last year Not because of them But him And we talked about that They're too reliant on him They need him To do too much For them to be a factor Well, this year I like the fact that they're getting Fred Van Vliet back You know, like the conductor If you will The vet That's gonna play hard Hustle
[00:04:55] Make the right decisions Won't always shoot efficiently He won't always be efficient But he's gonna make the right decisions And then they brought in Marcus Smart You know, to Upscale an already great defense Because you know, that's what E-Main does You know, then on top of that Steven Adams is back So that top rebounding duo Him and Shea Goon Holding down the boards So I'm not saying that Houston is a contender per se I'm not saying that
[00:05:24] Houston can beat either OKC or San Antonio But I think that When you can rebound And when you can play defense You can make it tough on just about anybody Can you run? I think so Outside of KD I think so The West is young San Antonio's young And they run Oklahoma City's young And they run Minnesota's young And they run The Lakers are gonna be efficient
[00:05:53] You know, with their starting lineup You know, with the vanilla Vixens They got out there But they're not gonna be able to keep up Offensively Like they're gonna Like Luka's gonna have to go I mean, this sounds crazy Like 29-9-9 And then That sounds about regular to me Yeah, but he But Austin, he's gonna have to go Like 24-8 Like they're gonna have to Just be so efficient Offensively That that puts the pressure on teams
[00:06:21] But as I'm looking at the West A lot of these teams You talk about getting older They added older pieces They got older injured guys Coming back It just It doesn't seem like a recipe For success To get them over the hump Considering OKC San Antonio The advantage that they have Physically With Wimby Being, you know 7'12 And then Shea And the size that they have Even with Chet Kind of collapsing In Game 7
[00:06:51] Like You still have to be able To compete with that Game 7 I don't think he showed up In the whole series But uh Well he collapsed In Game 7 You know You can have it all All game But it's like You weren't shooting Wide open looks In Game 7 What was that May? Yeah So you're about Four or five months Back in the lab Put some more weight on Rinse the season away They played a lot of basketball Over two years So it's like I'm just I'm just going with The youth movement Just
[00:07:21] OK So You can hear my voice I had one weekend In Atlanta And it's Tuesday And my voice is still like Because I'm old I can't do the stuff I used to do no more Same thing with these NBA players No matter how good shape You are You're not gonna be able To outrun Some of these guys Especially the way They play So obviously Nobody Besides San Antonio Has a Wimby Is there a team In the West That you haven't heard People talk about
[00:07:50] Or you just look at And go That's a dangerous team No Because I don't I don't think the Like Like you always want to say Golden State But they stayed old I don't even got them Making the playoffs Portland I mean Are you really bringing John Moran off the bench Like what's going on there Like it just doesn't seem like From what I've been reading The plan might be To start him And game together
[00:08:20] So that's That's just layup lines For the opposing guards So I'm interested You might get a lot But like Dallas Maybe But they're so young And Cooper Flagg Would have to have Like a breakout season And I think he will And that was one of the teams I was going to bring up So I'm not saying That they're going to make A Western Conference Finals run Or anything Along those lines But You know what I mean He did have What At least four 40 point games Last year
[00:08:49] Including a 50 point game So he is capable Of a You know Of a night Every so often Kyrie's back So far During preseason You know You wouldn't even know That he missed time You know So that's one of the teams I look at Portland I like what Tiago did with them He's gone And you know He's the coach of Chicago now But I like what he did With them But they're resetting With Mike Anori So I don't know How that's going to look But it's interesting Because you brought up Minnesota
[00:09:20] And you know He was pretty much The offensive coordinator If you will In Minnesota So I'm going to be Interested to see How things kind of Fluctuate And ebb and flow With a new Person running The offense there But I don't think Portland is I don't think They have enough Top level talent I think they could Give somebody A rough time Like you know The Spurs Whooped them last year In that playoff series But they still gave The Spurs A tough time You know The thing that you Can't say about
[00:09:49] The Spurs anymore Is that They're inexperienced You know what I mean They came through Last year They made it through All the way to the finals Had at least A 12 point lead In all five games Of the NBA finals Even though They only won One of them But I think But I think OKC is Out for blood J-Dub got hurt Early in the playoffs Last year You know He came back Played a few games
[00:10:19] In that Western Conference finals But wasn't really Effective and got hurt Again AJ Mitchell went down So it put SGA In this position Where he kind of Had to be Mr. Everything He had to initiate The offense For everybody else He had to still Put up 30 to keep up With the Spurs And you know He had to be able To play Lockdown defense To kind of help Keep things steady And he just Couldn't do it He's not built In that way So I think
[00:10:48] Healthy OKC Beats the Spurs Last year So you know So as I look Around the Spurs Now You know what I mean They went out And got everybody's Playoff hero Tobias Harris You know what I mean Like So when I look At the Spurs I don't really See much That What up Mike I didn't really See much That has changed That makes me Think That Spurs No I did not Say that I did not Say those words Mike I did not Say those words SGA
[00:11:17] Is a superstar You know He is a superstar As Stephen A Would say Of the highest Order You know Saying He is a superstar I just I just think That When you can Prepare So like Say Like they didn't Have J-Dub And A.J. Mitchell Going into that series I think SGA He can prepare For the workload That is going to Be expected of him But when The rug gets Swept from under you I just think That's a different
[00:11:46] Animal mid-series When you can't And I think They played it They played it wrong Too I think they played For lack of a better word The foul baiting game A little too much I just felt like Some of those times They should have Just attacked Like the Knicks Just kept attacking Like Brunson was Getting fouled He's going to Block his shot Just keep attacking Keep attacking I thought the way They played away From Wimby It hurt them As you can see In the Knicks series They just went at him
[00:12:16] Like they either Put him in action Or they They got him To chase the ball around And then they have Someone to cut On the back side So like He's running away From the hoop Chasing Alvarado And then Alvarado Throws a bounce pass To Jalen And then that was A floater With no Wimby In the lane I think they just Handled the Adjustment better Okay so you should be fine You bring your Bring your guys back Like I said And also It's probably The button up The Spurs thing Real quick Yeah The button up The Spurs thing Real quick
[00:12:44] They had They had a Slew Of bodies To throw at SGA That were effective You know Castle Harper Like you know Champagne You can't You can't Switch on them Like guys That are his size Or his build Or faster than him So like back in the 90's Right Jordan When Michael Jordan Was playing against The New York Knicks They would try everything They're like I'm gonna put Anthony Mason on you
[00:13:13] But Jordan's too fast It's like I'm gonna put John Starks on you Jordan's too strong And athletic So like But San Antonio Had the right formula Of players To give SGA A hard time And we saw it In that game seven I think he scored 35 points You know what I mean But eventually You run out of gas When you gotta give That type of effort On a consistent basis Yes So yeah It's probably It's probably
[00:13:42] A two horse race Minnesota Would be my If I had to lock In the third And then Give me a mix Of a Houston LA Denver For four or five Yeah Alright let's pull That team out That's far I'm going I'm going That's as far Down I'm going Let's pull that team Out of the hat Real quick So what do you think Of Denver In the DeMar DeRozan Pickup
[00:14:13] Same You can't You can't get old Like every year Like they They had the young guys They didn't play in Denver For some reason Everybody else Is throwing out Ten man rotations Nine Nine Ten Eleven Man rotations Denver's sticking With eight I think they're Going to be a good Because he's Efficient Shooter
[00:14:41] The mid-range game I think him Playing off Yoko I think it'll work Basketball wise I just don't see it Long term Winning April and May Basketball I think it'll be I don't think They'll have a down Year I don't think There's going to Be like 40 and 42 I think they'll Still have a Very good year 50 plus wins It'll look good Like I said They'll be in that Mix They'll be in that Four or five Or six mix Out west I think a couple Of teams out West
[00:15:11] Are going to be So bad That you're Going to be Able to pluck Wins off Of them Like the way Teams pluck Wins off Of like Brooklyn And Charlotte Yeah So it's like I think they'll Be able to Kind of just Collect some Wins I think I think The Clippers Won't be as Good I think The Lakers Will be good They'll be Formidable But I think Golden State Won't be as Good Well that's why Luka is such An interesting Dude Right Because As you were Talking Earlier And I kind of Responded Quickly The last
[00:15:41] Two to three Years Any other Year Luka Was the MVP You know What I mean Like last year He was closing The door You know Not closing The door But he was Closing the Gap In that MVP race So like Luka is Just One of those People where It's like I got SGA I got Wimby I got Jokic I got Giannis Like you Just gotta Try to Find some Room here Man Like You're Great But you Just gotta Find your Room Yeah Unfortunately I'm gonna say Like the last
[00:16:11] Ten years Ever since KD Went to Golden State The Team Up Mike just Wanted to Name MVP Like the Team up Like it Just It's hard To be the MVP If you have Another guy On your Team That's either Won an MVP already Or is an MVP caliber Players So like Jason Tatum And Jalen Brown Neither one Have ever Been considered MVP Because they Have each Other And it Was like Oh It makes It easy For you
[00:16:41] SGA They had Struggles For a couple Of years And then They turned The corner And then He was Just so Dynamic That it's Like wow He is You know Was it The straw That stirs A drink Or whatever But with Luca Having LeBron Having Austin Reeves Having JJ Reddick In the Line Light of LA And then If they Were like Number one Out west Then maybe But I think That's why It struggles For him To get You know Go to MVP Votes But yeah
[00:17:11] Like I said The problem Is I think Luca's team Right now Is a lot Like those Dallas teams That he had Before getting Traded to LA Where it's like He's gonna be Centered and Everything Then they're Gonna call About his Health For him Is gonna Be so high That I think Is gonna Trump Whatever he Does MVP wise Like I Think 29 99 Is realistic
[00:17:41] He might Even go For more Than that And The knock Will be Oh he Doesn't Play any Defense Yeah And I They have Better defenders Than I Think people Are giving Them credit For The problem Is is that Those dudes Play on The bench None of Those dudes
[00:18:10] Are in The starting Lineup So Walker Kessler Will cover A lot of Things for Them in The way That go Bear did In Minnesota In a lot Of ways But he's Gotta stay Healthy He only Played Five games Last year Before He bowed Out For the Season But back To Denver For a second It's Frustrating Right Because Like I Feel like Every year This was what Was supposed To change When Mike Malone Left Was supposed To be We're gonna Play these Young guys We're gonna Play the Bench and Get deeper Into the Rotation
[00:18:39] And now The guy That I Thought was Gonna have A breakout Year Julian Strother Is hurt You know Out for a While if Not the Season I'm not Up to date On the Injury But it Was pretty Bad You know You gotta Factor in Like Aaron Gordon's Gonna get Hurt at Some Point Unfortunately You know They lost Peyton Watson Should Have Probably Traded In my opinion Should have Traded Christian Brown You know So DeMar DeRozan Is basically It Like Marvin Bagley's been Playing well
[00:19:09] Over the Last few Years But if He needs To play Big minutes Denver's Already In trouble You know Tyus Jones You know Good point Guard Good leader On the Floor But it Doesn't Matter If Jamal Murray Is gonna Have An efficient Se Inefficient Season So So that's My issue With Denver So I Got them About Sixth The Warriors On the Other Hand Is They're In a Very Weird Place Because You got Steph Curry Right So as Long as You got
[00:19:39] Steph Curry You tell Yourself We got A puncher's Chance But then Jimmy Butler Coming Coming off Coming off Of an ACL You know Who Even when He was Healthy He decided When he Was gonna Play You know Like he Didn't Even Activate Until January Most Seasons You know What I Mean Then you Got Draymond I Don't Know What You're Getting From Him These Days Besides Emotions And Nostalgia You know All that You know So like They're
[00:20:08] On their Team Over 36 Years Old Yeah And I Was gonna Mention Al Horford You know What I Mean Is another Year Older And I'm Actually Surprised Because I Thought he Was celebrating His 70th Birthday This year Then you Got Porzingis Where Just what Three Four Days Ago There Were Reports Saying They Don't Even Know Where Porzingis Is You know What I Mean So He's Gonna Be Out For A While So Like The Warriors Are In a Place Where Santos Um Um Glee Santos And Uh
[00:20:38] Yaxo Lindenberg Dominican LeBron They're Gonna Have To Come In Immediately And Be Ready To Put Up 18 To 19 Points Potentially Because I Don't Know Are Gonna Put Him In Now I Think Yaxo You Have To Um I Think Santos They Were Already Going To I Think Yaxo Cause I Don't Know What Jimmy Butler Status Is As Far As If He's Starting The Season Is He Going To On A Pitch Count Or Anything Or Is He Going To Be Coming back
[00:21:08] Later In The Year So That's Where You Get Into The Questions Of If We're Looking At All Star Break Cause Usually There's About 50 Games Or So Before The All Star Break If You're Golden State This Isn't A Season Where You Can Go Let's Go 25 And 25 Let's Split It Up And Then We'll Be Able To Just Cut It On Later Like You Know The Warriors Need To Jump Out Like They Need To Have The
[00:21:37] Type Of Season Where They Need To Get Out Like To A Good Start They Need To Start Off Say Like 15 And Eight At Least You Know I Ain't Gonna Go Crazy And Say Like You Know 19 And Four Or Something Like That But They Need To To Build Some Kind To Show Like Hey We Got A Future Here Steph Cause Steph Hurt His Ankle The Other Night He's Gonna Play But He Hurt His Ankle The Other Night And That's What I'm Afraid Of Because They're One Step Injury Away
[00:22:07] From Being The Sacramento Kings In A lot Of Ways I Mean Legit Steph I Agree Mike Steph Steph Can There's No Other Threat There's Not A Person On This Roster If I'm A Defensive Coach Or We're Coming Up Our Defensive Plan To Play
[00:22:37] Golden State Where I'm Like Oh We Gotta Do This For Steph And We Gotta Do This For This Other Guy It's Like I Don't Think The Conversation Happens Watch George Niang If He gets In The Game He's Gonna Catch Shoot That's I Mean Jimmy Butler You Know He's Gonna Be You Can Play Him Straight Up Draymond You Can Literally Leave Him Open He Won't Shoot Horford Will Shoot But He's 40 So How Many Minutes Can He Play Effectively
[00:23:07] And Like I Said I Think Just The Lack The Lack Of Weapons That They Have And This Desire To Hold On To Nostalgia Is Like We've Been Talking About It Since We Had This Podcast They Should Have Broken This Up Years Ago And I Mean Like And This Is Gonna Be Trade Rumors For Steph Courier By The All Star Break Yeah
[00:23:37] So A team That I Have My Eye On Good And Back I Don't Know Which Way It's Going To Go You They Had Eric Gordon Kelly Oubre So On So For All These Guys And My Comment About Them Was They Just Got Too Much Talent Like Too Many Guys That Can Score And I Think That's A Thing Because There's Only So Many Shots To Go
[00:24:07] Around So This Isn't A Can These Two Play Together Because There's Only One Basketball But Can These Seven Play Together Because There's One The Utah Jazz And Not Only That But The Thing With The Jazz Is That They're Young And There's Not Really Anybody On Their Like Their And Been Successful At It Or Just Had A Lot Of Experience As The Number One Because You Look At A Guy Like Jaron Jackson
[00:24:37] Right And You Had John Morant Desmond Bain He Was Just Kind of The Filler Play Defense Knocked Down An Occasional Shot Off Of My Penetration Pause You Got Laurie Markkinen Who Is A Good Shooter But
[00:25:07] Not Necessarily A Leader You Know What I Mean And Then No We Not Going To Start That Conversation Again Tonight Not Right Now At Least But But You Know But But I Also Think That When You Look At Them It's Just That Thing Where Who Is The Leader Like You're Going To Spend Half The Season Trying To Figure Out Who Makes The Engine Go You Just Pay Keontae George Does He Fall Back
[00:25:37] Into The Regression Now That He Wow For For Guys To Go To To the pros and figure out, okay, how do I
[00:26:05] get to my spots? Because it's not the same as it was in college. The spacing's different. Those cramps. And whatever his health is, listen, training at 5,000 feet might be helpful to him. But yeah, it has to be marketing and then followed by Jaron Jackson and then let the young guns kind of fill in. Like, he's going to have to give you like 23 points and then let these young guys figure out how to get to 20. Yeah, I was tempted to pick them up.
[00:26:34] They have a different level of youth. Like, I think in two years I think they'll be good to go, but the problem is the Jazz just are notorious for not keeping whomever. Like, they seem to move off of guys rather quickly. Yeah, I was tempted to put them in my top six and avoid the play-in. Whatever it is, but I think I just can't get there because I still think they make the play-in, but I just can't get there as far as anything above that just because of that reason
[00:27:04] because I think it's going to take them 25 to 30 games just to figure out that battle rhythm, you know, of who's going to be the late game rotation, who's going to take the shots, who's going to have the green light, all those different things because like I said, a lot of these guys, you know, said, hey, I'm going to tell you like this real quick and I ain't saying nothing else about it. You lucky Dan Quinn was born anyway. You know what I'm saying? So when I look at this, when I look at the Jazz,
[00:27:33] I see a team that's going to be a force to be reckoned with in the next three years. It's probably just not this year. You know, the Phoenix Suns, you know, Jalen Green only played 32 games last year. You know, a lot of hamstring issues. I tell you what, Mr. Logical, a lot of people talk about like how they missed their grandma or something like that. Devin Booker really misses Chris Paul.
[00:28:03] You know what I mean? Like life was so much easier when he had that person to set up the shots. You know what I mean? You know, and, you know, just get everything set up for him and not have to do so much. Yeah, you know, that's going to be interesting because I think, you know, the Falcons are going to succumb just like we did. You know what I mean? The Clippers, on the other hand, you know, still have time on Luke. Good head coach. Good head coach. You know what I mean?
[00:28:31] But they brought in Brandon Ingram. They traded Kawhi. And it was like, okay, like Brandon Ingram is not Kawhi Leonard. But Brandon Ingram can score. Oh, he just got a partially torn ACL. Like, okay. You know, then you go get Max Struess. You know what I'm saying? Like, he's got a torn plantar fascia. You know what I mean? Like, so it's basically Darius Garland and who? Rui Achamora because you already got rid of
[00:29:00] Benedict Matherin traded him to New Orleans. So, here's the question. Are the Clippers even a threat to make the play in this year? Nah. That's pretty much it. Like, I think they're throwing in the towel. So, Pablo ended them, huh? Well, it ended when it didn't work. When it didn't work,
[00:29:26] the Paul George, Kawhi Leonard collusion and all this other stuff they did just to get Paul George out of OKC to there. When that run didn't work, it was never going to work because they got too old, too fast, too injured, too long. Like, it just, every single year, like, even with the new arena and everything else, I think Steve Ballmer tried his best to create this we're not the little brother buzz anymore. But then when
[00:29:56] that initial swing for the fences didn't work, then you couldn't get the other pieces. You know, like, if we think, take a baseball. Like, when the Dodgers were like, you know what? We're just going to spend as much money as humanly possible and construct these contracts and it worked. And when it worked, you got more people to come like, oh, shit, it's working out there. Let's run. Now, like I said, it's over, not necessarily over now, but it ended this year. But because it worked for so many years, it looks like a success.
[00:30:26] The Clippers essentially did the same thing even to the point where allegedly they circumvented the salary cap to make it happen. Right. And it didn't work. And now, now you got to deal with the fallout. Starting this year, this is your 30 and 52 years. All right. So I'm gonna put out this fire real quick. Bum, old, need to eat. That's the Clippers right there. Keaton Wagler's like
[00:30:56] the passion of the Christ dude. You know, say he need to eat something. He ain't ready for this yet. I think he's gonna be a good player, but he ain't ready for this yet. The Pelicans are the Pelicans. You know, new head coach Jamal Mosley coming over from Orlando. I like Jeremiah Fears. You know, I think Trey Murphy is the new Miles Turner where every year we're looking for when the Pelicans are gonna trade him and they just never do. And by the time they do, like, they could have had
[00:31:26] two or three first round picks and they're probably gonna end up with two seconds and some player we never heard of once they finally get around to trading him. Sacramento Kings, you know, Darius Acuff looking for him. You know, where they gonna be, Mike? Looking forward to that. But, I like Neat Clifford as well. So, Sacramento's got some pieces to play with. Poor Ben Simmons, man. You know, the comeback tour was on.
[00:31:56] I was ready. I was like, let's go, Benjamin. I got your back. And now he's out for the season. You know, so here's the question. Sacramento Kings over under 20 wins this year. Damn, Mike, you got some faith. Is this like the Chargers? Clippers fifth. stop. 20 wins.
[00:32:27] Yeah. You gotta give them mid-20s. I mean, they're not Brooklyn or Utah. Like, they have some depth. But yeah, I would, I give them over 20 wins. But, it's, um, I'm giving them 15. 15? 15. 15.
[00:32:58] You know, it's like, there's so many other bad teams. I think they'll be able to squeeze. Well, one, I think the Sacramento Kings are gonna be the first team in NBA history to give up 140 points per game. You know, so that's gonna be, that's gonna be hard enough already to get 10 wins. That's gonna be tough to win. Yeah. You know, they lost the Rosen, you know, so they still got Zach Levine. You know, I, yeah, I'm not sold. Um, so when it comes down to it, um, I got Spurs
[00:33:28] and OKC. You know what I mean? I hate to be that guy because I am, I am 2-5. So I'm always trying to find that, that other side of things and I just can't get there. I can't get there either. Like I said, Minnesota would be the surprise. Yeah, so I got OKC winning the West, um, for lack of better you know, longer discussion. I will, you know, I'm going to let them say Minnesota. OK.
[00:33:58] Just because everyone's going to stand up for me. We actually didn't talk about them very much. Let's talk about them a little bit. So, um, you brought up Bones Highland earlier and I think that he's on the verge of losing his spot to, um, Zion Pullen. I think Zion Pullen is going to be challenging him and we're going to be hearing his name by the end of the year. Uh, they went in, you know, who showed up in big and one of those playoff games with 43 points. You know, Jaden McDaniels
[00:34:27] just got an extension yesterday, one year, 40 million. So, you know, we're going to find out if his playoff was an aberration or is he a new player that we have to be focused on scoring in that way. You know, I think with the, with the, with the LaMelo ant thing, I think that fun doesn't always equal success. You know, from the standpoint of, I think they'll win 48 games, 49 games, something along those lines,
[00:34:56] but I just don't see this team as a threat, you know, at all. Like, I just don't see it. And I know they've been good the last couple of years. They made a couple of Western Conference finals within the last two or three years, but I'm just not there. I'm just not there. I think Nas, losing a guy like Nas Reed, you know, I think Nas Reed is what Golden State fans think Draymond still is. You know, like that identity kind of guy, the fan favorite, the solid player
[00:35:26] that just hits the shots, makes the stop. You don't necessarily depend on him, to come out and score 24 or come out and lock somebody down, but you just know he's going to make the play when you need it. You know, I think there's value to that. Yeah. I think their rotation allows them, I think the way all of the guys that handle the ball kind of play the same way. A lot of those guys attack downhill and, and Edward
[00:35:55] shoots more threes than I would like, but he does have a green lights and can do whatever he wants. LaMelo ball, six, eight point guard. You have to defend him with probably a bigger guard, which then opens up opportunities where like how many teams are going to have these, these guards that can, you know, that can extend. Uh, that's it. I mean, I think
[00:36:29] I think Kaminga, I think he signed a pretty favorable deal. I personally think he could have gotten more money. Um, I think Golden State just wouldn't does. I don't think Golden State realizes that like it's not 2017, 2018, 2019 no more. I think they look around and be like, oh, huh? So what about Atlanta? Atlanta purges everything too. You can see when he's out there, like I just want to see how like they're moving around to
[00:36:59] give it up on a guy, a six, seven guard who plays unselfish basketball. You know why? Because I think that all right, so look, especially you Mike, you know, I'm not saying what y'all think I'm about to say, but I'm kind of saying it. So he's Carmelo without being Carmelo. You don't say he's a black hole. He never met a shot he didn't want to take, but he's not that good to do the things that he does.
[00:37:29] So did Golden State do him wrong? Yes. You know, I do think that Golden State could have got a little bit more out of him, but I also think that there becomes a certain mentality of you went to the Atlanta Hawks, who was a playoff team, who has a guy in Dyson Daniels that literally shoots 18% from three and they didn't even think to keep you and you know what I mean? And then you were going to go to the Lakers. Listen, if you're not going to give me this
[00:37:59] opportunity, let me go. Maybe he's betting on himself. He took a, like I said, he took a very favorable contract. I think he's getting less money than LeBron's getting in Philly and now I don't think that's even a lot of money. I think LeBron's getting like $8 million. I think Kamega's getting like $16 million. Well, the reason the reason that I said the things that I said as far as like I don't want it to be taken that way is that I actually do like Kamega. You know what I I actually do like him. You know, I think he's talented, but I just think that he's not ready yet. And I don't know when that
[00:38:29] happens. You know what I mean? Like I don't think he hit that level of maturity yet. It's still me, me, me. And I don't really see the team aspect to his game. You know, if you're on a team that doesn't give you an opportunity when you get on the floor, you got to be me, me, me because they going to keep put me on the B. Or guess what? All the time. They might put you on the floor more. Yeah, but the contract is screen for Steph. Screen for Steph. Screen for Steph. And share the ball.
[00:38:59] Pass it to everybody. Everybody gets a touch on this possession. Kamega gets the ball and said, I ain't giving y'all shit. You know what I think as a six man in Minnesota, that's the perfect spot for him. It could be, but Minnesota also has another guy. He picked that spot. That's his first opportunity. He picked the spot. I just feel like the talent is there. Not a lot of injury history. I don't really see the problems because we all felt the same way.
[00:39:29] Like, yo, Golden State should really give him more of a shot. Yeah, definitely. I thought that's the perfect way to put it, Mike. I thought that Golden State didn't need Jimmy Butler. I felt like Kamega could have played more in that spot and maybe you get another role player to fill in behind
[00:40:01] Kamega. the floor. Like, you got to put the guy on the floor and stop thinking that you guys are going to just recreate this magic from 2022. It wasn't going to happen. Like, you need to figure out a way to pass the torch and they wouldn't get a guy older than Steph Curry. Okay, let me think about it. So when I think about it, I think Golden State is poorly managed. I think all their draft picks are poorly managed. Ever since they won the chip, I think they've been poorly managed, ever since Bob Myers left, every personnel decision they've made has been worse.
[00:40:31] So for the sake of comparison, I'm going to bring up a name. So, like, when I look at Kamega, I say to myself, why can't he do the things that say a Benedict Matherin does? You know what I mean? From that standpoint. So Matherin is the same way. He kind of has that tunnel vision. Like, but the difference is that Matherin's going to get to the basket. He's going to get to the free throw line. You know what I mean? Kamega just wants to
[00:41:01] shoot the ball. You know what I mean? And when you look at that, you get into that standpoint of you're shooting us out the game, and you can't shoot anyway. So, like, don't shoot that shot. I'm getting 16 minutes no matter what. Like, Jeff Tease talks about this. He's like, listen, you'll get 19 minutes. He's like, what if I got 18 points? Like, well, if he's in 19 minutes, you're a bad man. I don't think that you might have been like, the way you come into the game and you fired off like that is because you knew you weren't getting
[00:41:31] any more than 20 minutes. Like, you play within the confines. If you know you're allowed to make a mistake and you'll stay on the floor like Podemski or whatever, like, I don't think he plays basketball much better than Kamega, but maybe he plays his role a little bit better. That's what I was going to say. That's what it is. But if I'm Kamega, I'm like, all right, well, get me up out of here then. If you're not going to give me an opportunity, you draft me and make me look like Boo Boo the Fool because you won't put me in the game. And he
[00:42:01] goes on to Atlanta. Atlanta's like, oh, we're going to keep this guy. All right, bet. I'm going to go over here. I'm going to take this prove-it deal. Because he probably could have got a little money from the Lakers. But he probably would have been the same boat. Now you're third or fourth option behind Luca and Austin Reeves and whoever the shooter is and JJ Reddick's offense. He's like, nah, I'm going to go to Minnesota where they going to like what Ant said, we're going to fire shit at you. We're going to score a lot of points. We're going to talk a lot of shit. Maybe just need a change of pace.
[00:42:31] The pace of play is going to probably fit in more. As a person, like you say, you feel like he doesn't pass the ball a lot, but if the pace of play is you get downhill, spread out, pick and roll, get to the hoop, I bet I can do that. And I think you get 22 minutes doing that in Minnesota, it'll look way different than this time in Atlanta I know, he didn't. But I think that's by design.
[00:43:01] I think that's by design, because you got to remember, there's a person above these GMs that are signing checks, too. You know what I mean? And there's that thing called the luxury tax, and there's that thing called the apron. You know what I the Warriors did. They were like, we don't got time for this.
[00:43:31] So you're kind of limited in the sense of who am I going to bring in? Like, can I go get a Matherin? No. Can I go get a, like, if Kamiga wasn't on the Warriors, can I go get a Kamiga? No. You probably could have got a Matherin. I mean, money was two years ago, maybe. Like, I I don't maybe I'm just nobody
[00:44:01] I've been checking these numbers. I think I've won more NBA games than Zach Levine. Like, like, you had a great career. I think he's averaged like 25 points, 25, 60. Yeah, how many shots he shoot, you know what I mean? But anyway, but I was going to say yeah, Golden State just kept they held on after the championship. They should have all watched the last dance and like, you know what? It's still time to break this whole thing up. And they could have they could have let those guys go wherever
[00:44:31] they need to go and start it over. And by now, they will be in a position to compete. Now, they're going to spend this year and if Steph is healthy enough to come back next year, you're going to spend the 2026, 2027 season, the 27, 28 season shackled to this ideology from years back because they won't move on. They got rid of Clay. Everybody should have been gone. Well, Clay had the injuries
[00:45:00] that helped them make that decision. But I was going to say that when it comes to Minnesota to finish that up, I'm interested in Cody Williams, you know, J-Dub's little brother. I'm interested to see him on a new team. I felt like getting him out of Utah was probably the fresh start that he needed. He was coming on towards the end of last year, but I'd like to see him with a new team. But Mr. Logical, I am not as down on Boston as I think you are.
[00:45:31] I'm not down on them. I just didn't like the move. I think they could have did better, but I like the fit of the player that they brought in. But I like the fit of the player that they gave up. He's going over to Dunleavy draft picks. Oh, the Dunleavy draft picks. A team like Golden State ain't going to say that's not what they going to do in this
[00:46:01] stage. They don't care about the draft at this stage. You know what I mean? But anyway, yeah. I think Boston has a great identity. I think it's a lot like how the Knicks are playing. I think Philly's going to have a problem because those four guys are used to averaging 20 plus. LeBron, Jalen, Embiid, Maxey. VJ, up and comer, probably
[00:46:31] wants to get more shots up. I don't know how you get four guys over 20 points who are used to averaging around 27 to 28. I think Maxey's about 26. And then VJ trying to get his points and still win games. So just I think it's going to be too difficult. It's going to be they're going to look really good when one of those guys is out for like a week with an ankle. Well, that's what I was going to ask you. I was going to actually ask you over under
[00:47:02] 35 games they all play together during the regular season. The this big four. Yeah. I'm going to go over not too much more over. I'm going to say maybe like 39. Like the big matchups are going to be on TV. All of those Knicks matchups all those Celtics matchups whenever they play OKC San Antonio give me all of those
[00:47:31] the minutes any big matchup Jason Tatum so the yeah, but I think that's going to be trouble in Philly. I'm willing to wager that LeBron is going to be able to adjust to scoring less points and playing limited minutes just because he's in his 24th year. I don't think it mattered to him as much but I think Vijay is going to want to get his points. I think Embiid
[00:48:01] plays so reckless to me that it's like this is why he always hurt. He went and got a steal tonight and crashed into the cameraman. It is game when he spun out of bounds. Every time he goes for his little Euro step he's driving into people. Just pull up from the free throw line. You're 7'2". You're not Ginobili. Just a little jumper. LeBron doesn't get
[00:48:31] bad fouls because he's not out there doing creation. It's the same thing with Cat. Cat had three fouls. Calm down. You're going to get to your spot. Just kick the ball back out and repost up. You don't have to dribble drive Euro step from the three-point line all the time. to go to I'm plays as if he is the offense and he has the ultimate green light.
[00:49:02] Having LeBron and Brown and Maxie go out. He can keep that up. That's fine. I think Embiid is going to be that guy that he's going to get a wasted possession because he's going to Euro step and dribble the ball out of bounds.
[00:49:45] I the equation. Where he comes off the bench and it's kind of that spark. Him and Jalen Brown intersect in a lot of ways in their game. Jalen plays slow in the spots on the floor where
[00:50:15] VJ likes to run through and get to the rim. Jalen is in his I don't see them I know I should but I don't view them as a contender because I just don't know what you're going to get for Embiid and how long you're going to get it. LeBron is regardless of how
[00:50:45] he looks good tonight and everything but he's another year older Jalen Brown is I don't know if he is how can I word this I don't I don't know if he's the guy that you want to be the leader of your championship team like he did a lot of things that Jason Tatum couldn't do from a personality standpoint and he had that inner
[00:51:14] dog in him that I feel Tatum lacks sometimes but I don't know if I start a team with the thought that I want or need Jalen Brown to be the best player I get what you mean I think last year he showed he to
[00:51:53] organization I think there I think there organization I think there was a tear in that relationship for probably a lot many more weeks in the season I won finals MVP I won conference finals MVP and y'all still slurping on him yeah and they kept putting like and every year they put him in trade rumors and everything else so I think that relationship was already torn I
[00:52:52] I actually any one of them catching that little slip screen pass whatever the top they can turn the corner and come downhill aggressively with the ball in their hand attack the rim Jalen's gonna come off of that and get to the free throw line and kind of wiggle and if you have all four of them on the floor at once
[00:53:13] like you say he just gets in the way it's gonna be effective but as long as you can rotate and get the right you know combination and I just don't know like all four of them with VJ is gonna be your rotation
[00:53:56] but because of that but there was one problem but there was one problem with that when I picked them to go to the finals that was pre-James Harden I'm not picking any James Harden team to make the finals I put it like that you know what I mean so unfortunate you know but Cleveland doesn't have the the cachet but Cleveland did some things this offseason that just kind of I don't know so so they lost Dean Wade you know who was a who was a big part of
[00:54:25] of their success off the bench Max Struis gone you know they brought in Peyton Watson from Denver who has potential but can't stay healthy and then Jalen Tyson off the bench I think brings sort of that attitude that Struis brought but does he bring the respect that Struis brought then on when you get to the playoffs I can't support this Mobley Allen thing man
[00:54:54] it doesn't seem to work I like it I think it should work like I said I felt like Cat and Gobert back in the day I thought it was a good combination because I think you have an advantage over other teams just because most teams don't have a defensive big and a scoring big that both can rebound you know somebody like you know some teams might have a big but he doesn't rebound you know
[00:55:24] but you have a defensive big that's defensive minded he's not going to waste possession he's trying to Euro step he's going to go out there rebound try to block shots catch slobs at the rim and this other guy Evan Mobley was a defensive player of the year a couple years ago so it's like I thought that combination should work I just don't know the the James Harden Donovan Mitchell part that that needs to be more effective that needs to be closer to
[00:55:54] 57 58 points between the two of them and efficient can I get 26 out of one of you and 21 22 from the other one at least 20 can I get 56 or 46 excuse me 46 yeah can I get yeah if I can get 20 if I can get 46 points and you know 6 or 7 assists per then I'm I'm I'm feeling like I'm feeling I'm feeling I'm feeling like
[00:56:24] I spilled some bleach earlier so like it's like yeah but anyway so yeah so and that's the part you can't rely on like because I think banking on Harden to do the thing you need him to do in clutch moments it just hasn't happened throughout his career agreed you know what I mean but I still like them in the regular season so I actually have Cleveland finishing with the best record in the east
[00:56:54] in the regular season I just don't have them doing very much once the playoffs actually start can the Knicks repeat well that's tough you gotta see if you can get Mitchell Robinson work out of Drummond which I don't think so I think the age is different I think teams kind of gear it up to beat them and they're running a situation where the way they played in the
[00:57:23] playoffs last year was like ultimate team basketball because even in the games where like you know we talk about the closeout game where Jalen went you know went ham everybody did the little things the steal taking a charge stressing Wimby out like everyone kind of played their role throughout the entire playoff run everyone just kind of played like to a great advantage this year they got Wiseman on the bench I don't know
[00:57:53] what his health is I don't know if you can get that Mitchell Robinson effort out of him but that's a big piece not to have and then now you got the target like you're gonna get everybody's best shot you're already gonna get everybody's best shot anyway because it's Madison Square Garden for 41 games and people know like that's the mecca of basketball so you're gonna get the best team's best
[00:58:43] shot because I know they're they're they're supposed to do they just got to knock down three you said they went 17 for 42 tonight they got it they got to shoot somewhere around like 35
[00:59:14] I don't know and this is just this is just speculation you know I don't have any obviously any sources or whatever but I know there's been talks about Kat's contract I don't care about that they'll get that done you know what I mean but are they gonna is Josh Hart gonna still be on that roster at the end of the season is McBride still gonna be on that roster at the end of the season I can see them making moves but that's just me you know what I mean but going
[00:59:44] back to their playoff run at least you know the Knicks broke the record for point differential they won all their playoff games by average of 14.9 you know even though Drummond is balling tonight you know he had a triple or not triple double double in the first half you know I think Mitchell Robinson brought a certain energy you know with his play not just the rebounds but just what he did on the court
[01:00:14] and going back to a very rudimentary view of things can Drummond bother Wimby the way that Mitchell Robinson did at times you know what I mean I don't think he can you know in the same way and hopefully after last year in Philadelphia hopefully Drummond doesn't get out here and start thinking he cat because he hit a couple of threes last year and you know he didn't want to stop you know what I mean so like hopefully that's not a thing
[01:00:44] you know so what does it take for Jalen Brunson to win MVP he I think he's in position to be able to do it because there's no other guy on the team that's gonna be
[01:01:13] relied upon to do what he does offensively so I think he'll just have the almost I don't use the word freedom but he'll be able to he'll be able to score at will the team yeah the team will be able to just kind of rely on him the way they you know they rely on him in the playoffs but like to Mike's point he might have to average like 29 29 or 30
[01:01:43] points something like that because I think last year he was at 26 26 and a half he's gonna have random random as hell would you take Jalen Brunson over Allen Iverson no I'm from Virginia I'm taking AI over no don't do the logical thing logically I'm from Virginia and I'm taking AI so Toronto let's talk about the north the six if you
[01:02:13] will you know they went out and got Kawhi Leonard you know I had to ask Rez you know that's a say let's say more thing you know so Toronto I like Toronto right I like Toronto last year you know what I mean I think that if Brandon Ingram didn't get hurt in that series they probably would have embarrassed me and the Cavs would have lost in the first round and not in the Eastern Conference finals
[01:02:43] so Scotty Barnes announced himself last year you know he was probably the best player on the floor in that Cavs series you know Colin Mary Boyles CMB not to be confused with the Cash Money Brothers came out there showed some potential for the future once Toronto starts hitting threes they're going to be a dangerous team you know they only made about 11 last year per game Jake Portal
[01:03:13] Jacob Portal is the weak link go Utes is the weak link out there how serious are you taking Toronto well I don't know I'm just I've never been able to just kind of hitch my wagon to the Kawhi Leonard you know what I mean train it's just it's never been it's a lot like James Harden
[01:03:42] I just don't feel that the talent matches the results consistently enough I'm one of these people I don't think you should you have to win a championship every year I don't think you have to be in the finals every year I don't think you have to be top three MVP every single year to be considered like a great
[01:04:16] it's over the hump I think that doesn't happen with James Harden I think it you know it's happened for years with LeBron it happened for years with Steph KD and the rest of the era like you could just tell it's like hey this is a tight moment who's gonna be the guy that that does we'll talk about Dirk Dirk's run for his championship in 2011 there was a lot of great players in the league but that year if you if you sorry I say this every
[01:04:46] year I swear I've never seen a superstar miss as many layups as LeBron does because foul yeah so so that's that's my that's my peaceful I just I gotta see because we know he's you know he misses games injuries happen we understand that but if you are a team and you're expecting him to be there and then he misses six games
[01:05:16] now you guys kind of fill into your own role your practice schedule in between those six games a couple of weeks then he comes back and he plays a couple of games and then he plays every other game and you're constantly shuffling your you're constantly shuffling your lineup and your routine and it starts to feel like you're doing it to appease him and I think that tears at the fabric of the team I don't think the team I don't think teams
[01:05:46] galvanize around Kawhi because of perceived special I don't say special treatment he's going to be hurt but when he comes back he's going to play at his schedule so you just got to be ready tonight maybe he might go you might go I
[01:06:21] that's going be a problem so I think they're going to have a top seven defense at least maybe a little higher I think that he's coming off probably the best offensive season of his career at the very least so I'm very substantial
[01:06:50] it's not even memorable all right res cover your ears cover your ears raf tell everybody why the Miami heat ain't making the playoffs I will say listen I said the beginning when they made the move I didn't think it was gonna be like
[01:07:21] groundbreaking because I don't think they have the subsequent pieces filled in that gonna make the impact I think other teams in the east are just either they're built younger or
[01:07:51] so you're looking at five you're big on Toronto so yeah I said the heat I said they wouldn't be higher than six I give like I think they're still in for me starts at six I could be wrong and it could change but I think in the east right now I think they're still in starts at six people have a lot of faith in Washington but I gotta see it in action with Trey Young and AJ
[01:08:21] the potential rookie favorite and Anthony Davis I gotta see it happen but like I said I just think that six maybe five but yeah I just don't I don't have the faith in the trade that everyone else did I felt like they kind of depleted their core to put together this older big three big two situation well
[01:08:53] like I don't know like so how many hey stop y'all you stole my point already I was about to
[01:09:46] all the court take a break you know and go oh man that was a little easy tonight and then I think he's gonna like clip his fingernail and look back up and be like put me back in spo
[01:10:16] you Davey on Mitchell with the on ball pressure you know you'll have Bam and Giannis controlling the paint you know I think there's gonna be a lot of wiggle room the problem that I have with Miami from a long term season standpoint is how much are they gonna be relying on Tim Hardaway and Klay Thompson you know and and from that standpoint to provide shooting because they don't have much otherwise you know heroes gone
[01:10:46] you know Hawkins is gone but I think that Giannis is good enough and I think that the defense will be good enough in unison with Spoh who is a great enough coach I think that even if they finish six I think they have a role reversal going on where the sixth seed in the east is still gonna have 51 to 53 ish wins the way that the West used to
[01:11:16] you know what mean so I think that that gets Giannis something okay so the Pistons Mike says real quick Mike said the well-rested Giannis is gonna I'm like he's not gonna get any rest he's not gonna get any rest at all because there's no one to put in a game no but he's it's time to set the he will be rested for the next 82 you know what it's gonna be like
[01:11:47] this hey hold up yeah oh never mind it's gonna look it's gonna look like it's gonna look like a last past few of these years with before Luca and LeBron and the Lakers it's gonna look like they're winning games and they're doing great but then when you look at the box it's gonna be LeBron played 37 minutes when they want him to play they want him to play 31 you know it's gonna be like that to where
[01:12:15] he's gonna be playing his heart out on a Tuesday against Orlando and the next game is gonna be you know like in the Knicks coming in and he's gonna have to play that game too so it's just I don't know I just think the lack of depth the lack of the lack of young experience like this this I'll give them experience Klay Thompson Andrew Wiggins Bobby Portis
[01:12:44] Tim Hardaway Jr. very experienced guys but you can't have all four of those guys and your star players equally as as the same amount of tread on his tires all the time like there has to be some kind of that's be some diversity of of experience in order to balance it out because right now they got a bunch of old guys that play a certain way or I think that they're more of a as we would say
[01:13:14] in football like they're built for the playoffs I think you know what I mean I think that once the rotation shortens down and who has the best player I think they give themselves a shot no I know I know that's why that's why I said five or six I don't think you're going to want to play them in the playoffs we said same thing about the Lakers the last few years oh they don't probably say that about the Lakers oh my god they said it all the time oh the most state the sixth seed
[01:13:44] you want to say he didn't say that I didn't say that that was you didn't say that I'm saying like that was the conversation you know who said that the dudes that's getting paid to say that that's who said that but I'm saying but like that being a conversation doesn't make sense to me and LeBron fans you might have said that shit I disagree with it oh I don't I'm not I'm not hyperbolic I'm realistic like I'll never say the most dangerous succeed like this like don't like you one more game if you're dangerous don't come on sports for places
[01:14:13] to quote Brian Windhorse okay listen I don't care who said it I think it's a ridiculous statement so I don't think a team should be viewed as dangerous for the playoffs when they made this blockbuster trade to only get to six in their conference that's all I'm saying I don't think it's that big it's a difference though Giannis has been on Milwaukee the last couple of years it's a difference though like
[01:14:43] you're six because the conference is stacked you know what I'm saying like you're not six because you're a bad team it's not that stacked and the reason they're six is because Brooklyn Brooklyn Charlotte Orlando who else probably Washington you're going the wrong way sir you're going the wrong way it goes New York Boston Cleveland Toronto you're going the wrong way I'm counting
[01:15:13] from the bottom up I'm counting from the bottom up so like yeah Miami can get to six because there's five teams that are going to be in the bottom definitively that's all I'm saying like the heat will be all right but they won't be all right to the point where just because they made this Giannis trade let them miss let them miss four games they're going on four you want a good laugh y'all kill me with this
[01:15:42] they got a good coach all right so Pistons riddle me this so coming out of high school coming into the league Asar Thompson was the twin that scored Amen was more of the point guard they get to the league Amen is Scottie Pippen and
[01:16:12] Asar is like maybe Dyson Daniels so the fact that these guys didn't draft and they can't shoot blows my mind it literally it blows my mind that you're in the NBA multiple years with all the training facilities and the access to basketball hoops and courts and the best basketball and the best coaches and they're teaching you how to flick your wrist in front of the rim your third or fourth year in the league just blows
[01:16:45] it's probably going to get traded at the trade deadline because he's probably an even worse shooter than Asar is but do you think that the Jalen Doren situation even though he did end up getting paid do you think that that hampers Detroit season in some way no because he got paid it got settled and once the basketball is rolled out there then you gotta let all
[01:17:15] that go so you got your contract extension maybe it wasn't the number you wanted but it signed money is in a bank account taxes are being taken out now you just gotta go play basketball and I think they're probably one of the rare teams that just has such a size advantage that he just has to take advantage of that and kind of understand like alright yes I
[01:18:03] still gotta figure it out I don't know if that's gonna be like the standard for the year so you have to figure out okay where do we
[01:18:33] like I think youth is about to circumvent experience I think last couple years showing it the Knicks kind of turned on his head in the playoffs unless they figured they just wanted to get something else out of him or maybe they just felt like you know what it was too much to have both of them
[01:19:04] they were but I still when I look at Detroit I still see a team that may have to rely on K Cunningham a little bit too much for my liking like I
[01:19:34] and he looks a lot better you know he's moving he's quicker it looks like he lost some weight but the team it was kind of shocking because when I was watching them today early in that first half and it could be game one you know what I mean you got to get conditioning and all that but they looked slow today and I don't remember them looking that slow last year so I'm not going to say I'm concerned but I'm not so sure that they're top four
[01:20:20] being built from the ground up I think because the big trade to championship hasn't really happened I can't recall like a trade of a superstar or a big name going from one team to another and that team making a championship that year I can't recall if that happened so that was the 2019 Kawhi deal yeah I'm thinking that's the
[01:20:50] that took a couple injuries Kevin Durant that was before that yeah that's what I meant I meant that same kind of move like the superstar going from one team to another team and the continuity working out in it's a coaching
[01:21:20] staff I think that resonates going forward versus like a situation like with Nick nurses in right now with like you know embarrassment of riches and I think the expectation of Miami is the same probably as Philly like oh we got Giannis we got all these pieces now come on Spoh do what you
[01:21:50] even though it won't look sexy I don't think it's going to be a bunch of guys I hear you know knocking down threes going to be a lot of games whereas 103 97 but I think that's going to be effective piston basketball so what I find interesting is that the Wizards ended up with an OKC type front office you know got raised by OKC but to me they're going through that warrior thing you were talking about with the two eras because they had the young talent Alex are
[01:22:20] Keishon George Will Riley so far then they decided let's go get Trey Young let's go get Anthony Davis and let's stick them with all these young dudes that don't know how to win that haven't won anything yet and then mix up that elixir and oh shit we got a contender not so much so of course Trey Young only played 15 games last year Anthony Davis played 20 last four years Anthony Davis 51 42 9 and 20
[01:22:49] as far as games played the Wizards now of course this is without Trey and without Anthony Davis I'm just making a point here over the last three years the Wizards are 2 in second game of a back to back they finished last year losing 27 out of 28 games and even with that being said this is probably the best team that Trey Young has played on
[01:23:23] well you just look at it from a talent standpoint it it is weird it's a few number one game one he's not playing game one because of the ankle DeAndre Aiton is on the team Champagney is on the team I mean what are your
[01:23:53] expectations as an organization and can you because you can't go from losing 27 out of 28 games earlier this year and come come on October thinking you're going to be a playoff contender by manager expectations and OKC front office or you know they have another ace up their sleeve is someone going to
[01:24:23] bite bite at the Anthony Davis trade deadline he's not happy with his minutes blah blah blah blah blah you know so it's going to take a while gotta see how it works man you might be the wizard fan Mike I think it's okay for us to be realistic I don't think there's anything wrong I got them at seven I think them at seven that would be huge
[01:24:55] for them as an organization fourth you'd have to beat like based off our conversations and how you guys kind of push back on my Miami take you would have to have Washington better than Miami Toronto I don't know what Indiana is going to look like you know now that the guys are back that's a team that I'm not high on that a lot of people listen in the West in the
[01:25:24] NBA neither side is weak there's the best 400 basketball players in the world in the NBA neither I just hate when people say that because it's such like all these Brooklyn Nets are probably terrible they're poorly run Charlotte gave up all their talent but maybe they'll turn around but like one side versus the other side isn't weak
[01:25:54] it's still NBA basketball and you still got to compete you don't jump from 27 losses in a row to fourth because you get a rookie and an injured guy who hadn't played in four years it's not it's not how it works this isn't NBA 2k like they're not going to go from being terrible for a decade straight like and just all of a sudden get a couple of
[01:26:24] rookies and DeAndre Aiton who always hates every role every team puts him in I'm like dog you seven foot just rebound and dunk nah I don't want to do that like AD hasn't played a total of what was it 100 games you just write off yeah but they gotta play have them on the last four years quick math is 122 games in the last four years
[01:27:07] to be able to perform like just being there it still has to work in order for the work it has to be you don't just come out the gate like boom success it
[01:27:37] can AD play the third fiddle if they figure they want to go through the bonsa I think AD can but for me it's all about Keyshawn George him and Sar are the keys Sar went from 39% to 48% last year Keyshawn George I think if he was on most other teams he would get talked about a lot more in a positive light you know what mean he plays for the Wizards I like Will Riley so there's talent all over the
[01:28:07] roster you know what I mean you gotta figure out how to win though and also as a part of that though the coach matters too you know what lead off sports center because they beat somebody by 25
[01:28:36] or something but then they could turn around the next night and lose by 15 you know what shot two threes a game and he still only shot 18
[01:29:06] you know to be like how bad do you have to Kingston Fleming looks like the real deal in the preseason so far
[01:29:36] you know I had I wasn't the biggest on him in the draft but you know he's been looking good in the preseason and of course you got CJ McCollum the leader you know what I you know what mean and they didn't do anything that addressed
[01:30:06] that thing yeah where's your leadership come from well not only the leadership but like the same like they got punked around by cat of the two games that they got last time because they won both of those by
[01:30:36] one point so Jalen Johnson you know is going to have to take a leap as well you know and I just don't know if it's there yeah it doesn't I don't know where you get I don't know who starts your offense I don't know who orchestrates it I don't know who you go through I don't know who you rely on in key moments like I don't know if that person has been clearly identified
[01:31:07] because I'm not seeing a forward he just had a bad playoff series you know what I mean in his first go round yeah so who someone's got to be your 26 point guy I think every team has yeah so he's got to be your 26 point guy
[01:31:36] and then you need to spark lug off the bench I think Lou Dort is I like why I just I like you or something aggressive you know is Canadian no like I thought he fit well in OKC because I felt like OKC played a lot of like wasn't necessarily passive but I think he he was
[01:32:06] like their dream on I think like Charles Brock did every team he's a crazy guy I think he was their crazy guy and that yeah sometimes listen you keep doing it till they got six fouls they don't call all of them so once you get three or four night and calm down you know Draymond gets that first technical early in the game so they don't give him another one to kick him out same kind of thing
[01:32:46] does I don't see that same role for him in Atlanta because like I said you talked about this guy Dyson Daniel shooting 18% from three yeah he's gonna have to play they're just gonna be out there playing great defense like them legion of boom someone still the early 2000s or something you know what I mean but in this NBA I just don't know but you know like I said earlier the Pacers you know people are still thinking viewing them through a
[01:33:16] 2024 lens and they are not that you know what I mean they are not you know Tyrese Halliburton did look good during the preseason you know we'll see how that translates over but you NBA finals anymore you know then on top of that you know I want to see I don't know if I like the fit with him and Zubach you know what I mean I just don't
[01:33:46] know if I like that you know like you said earlier when we were talking about Houston you were like can they run you know what I mean I is probably a top five coach in the league so you know what I mean so they got that going for them but I just don't see it I just don't see a return to that type of
[01:34:15] stature missological I'm not going to do it I know I been debating all in my mind during this whole time we've been talking am I
[01:34:48] they never these teams don't address things so I think Tristan DeSilva will step up this year and add an extra shooter to the offense off the bench Desmond Bain goes without saying but they still have the same guard issues that they had last year like I think Anthony Black is probably the best of the lot but he's in the middle of a contract dispute with them right now you know what mean you got Sugg still
[01:35:18] like I just don't know if they have pieces that don't fit but the thing about it I you know I just I don't know man like Orlando is the team that like I think
[01:35:48] they're in the wrong era you know what they don't fit so well in 20 26 in my opinion guards aren't dynamic and they're
[01:36:18] they run they run so much I'm not a big fan yeah they run so much bad action to their bigger players and it's like like well I'm I should say I don't 6'10 I get that I get that they want all these guys to be able to handle the ball but at some point you need someone that can Chris Paul this up so these guys can just get open looks like that's it that's what I like you they don't address that I thought Suggs was going to be that guy like going
[01:36:48] back to his time against I get a true point guard I shouldn't say I don't like Jace Richardson I think what I'm trying to say is I don't like him on that team
[01:37:18] like he doesn't I don't think he what he brings is what they need you know like I would love Jace Richardson when you're Bulls Miami you know yeah he could be in Miami like that spark off the bench young that attacks like Orlando needs a dude that has Mike Conley type traits yeah like a Tyus Jones type guy but I mean they had Tyus Jones if I remember correctly at one point
[01:37:49] I don't think Charlotte's going to be as bad as everybody thinks I don't think they're going to necessarily be as good as they were last year but I just more good teams in the East thing the Bulls so if I asked you what the Bulls needed Mr. Logical what would you say just to put it all out there I think they
[01:38:19] have a lot of good pieces I think they have somehow Thiago Splitter ended up being their coach even though I think he should have been hired in Portland it's going to be tough because they're a young team and just the history of the team but I don't know I just there's always something missing and I
[01:39:02] maybe maybe it up being Caleb Wilson but who do you trust to go get ISO buckets you know what I mean you talked earlier about how every team has this type of player you know every team has a guy that I go I need a bucket right now you know what
[01:39:32] he's just not that type of player he functions in a role versus being the guy that you rely on you know Giddy can't shoot you know Nick they went and got Nick Claxton so the Bulls just decided forget the twin towers we want the triple towers we want the triplets you know because they got Buzellus and Senge Wilson you know Nick Claxton
[01:40:01] you know they just got all the Pat Williams even like they got all these big bodies but outside of Caleb and maybe Buzellus in a lesser degree how many of them have that type of upside see Jalen Smith I Paul
[01:40:31] Paul as the best player on a team or when you're looking at the hierarchy of a successful team like you're with Wilson me Matis and then Norman Powell is that like I would look at OKC I don't think that will kind of combo like I think if you establish
[01:41:01] that yeah if you establish that then I think everybody else can kind of fill in that role whereas Josh Giddy can go back to that OKC role that he had where it's just like all right tall guard handle the ball plays defense tough guy get your occasional rebound so it's like I think guys need to identify like what kind of offense we're going to be to do it it just you gotta establish
[01:41:30] this is what we're gonna do hey young guys we're we're going with y'all everybody else follows suit but I will say Leonard Miller I think you know I've been talking mostly tonight about players that are gonna be breakout players I think Leonard Miller has you know Jordan they signed
[01:42:00] Jordan Hawkins so maybe he can finally show the black ass dude that got a new hairline that be on a bunch of different teams Dennis Schroeder I think between the two of them they play for every team in the league yeah maybe like I'm willing to make that if we you know but no I think the Bulls are gonna be what they've been
[01:42:30] I think they're gonna be that team that flirts with the play in you know what
[01:42:59] Brooklyn is a great borough you know Mike said that Julius Randall is gonna average 28 he might you know but but I don't know what that means you know for the rest of the team for sure Michael Porter started the year well last year you know NBA
[01:43:29] Michael Porter Jr. was playing so well he was like do you consider trading him to ensure you get a lottery pick I like well what kind of well Brooklyn doesn't own their pick this year so we don't gotta worry about that so Brooklyn is probably the one team that won't be tanking you know out of these lower teams you know I like Michael Brown I've talked about him a lot you know I got him pretty highly ranked as far as the rookie of the year
[01:43:59] race I like Taylor Jenkins in Milwaukee not this year per se but I think they got a good coach as far as developmental going forward I think Khalil Ware finally being under from under Spolstra can play basketball now because he kind of had a Kaminga thing going on with Spolstra where Spolstra wanted him to do certain things or act a certain way that he's just not
[01:44:33] I see Tyler Hero Miles Turner Kyle Kuzma what the fuck were the Milwaukee Bucks trying to build the Thunderbolts I don't know what the hell they cut Kevin Porter you know what I mean but they did draft Braden Barry who I think is probably one of
[01:45:04] but just as a rookie I think he comes into the league ready to rock and roll but I just don't think it matters on this team it just doesn't matter so they're still young I think it's a matter of like just roll the
[01:45:34] I didn't say his name on purpose Mike because you remember last college season I was all over him at the beginning of the year pause you know saying I think he does fit in Milwaukee you know like you could do a lot worse for a Giannis replacement but I think he's going to need two years or so to get developed and everything before he's worthy of mentioning being mentioned on
[01:46:04] give me Toronto Toronto over Boston in the Eastern Conference finals yes so give me OKC over Toronto in the NBA finals I like it man your faith to go wide tremendous hey man here top five player in
[01:46:40] he plays well in the playoffs you know said like his teams just don't be you know sometimes you know saying but anyway who you got I think Boston is a safe pick OK so I'm gonna go Boston over the Knicks Eastern Conference finals
[01:47:13] OKC beats Minnesota in the Eastern Championship all right so Jalen Hurts almost died yeah so I don't know about HIPAA violations because we seem to not care about that when it comes to sports if we just tell everyone the business but they kept him up for 36 hours 36 hours 36 hours
[01:47:43] I was like sometimes these guys like they're playing a game at the end of the day football tackle football is a game but these guys play with a passion of like I'm only gonna play X amount of games like just physically I cannot do this forever so any game I can play I'm gonna play and as a professional organization you have to say someone else in the room has to
[01:48:13] be like we really keep this dude awake for a day and a half where you need to be in the most focused position on the field short of kicker the quarterback has to like literally be ready to hear plays that are 12 to 14 words long you gotta read the defense you gotta know all the stuff that's going on and every quarterback but Jaden
[01:48:42] Daniels has to know the time on the clock and what down it is oh my god when he threw that ball out of we'll get to that we'll get to it go ahead yeah we'll we'll decide that's like um I know the NBA spent some amount of time investigating this Kawhi salary cap thing and then Pablo is trying to get the helicopter investigated he needs to go ahead get into this and find out what the hell happened to the point where someone traveled
[01:49:12] on an airplane with blood clots and then was given experimental insomnia treatment to play a football game where you can get a hit in the head like think about when they took him out of the Bears game because of that hit and the blood clots going to sleep could have been dangerous it's like yeah it just so
[01:49:44] many people saying that they didn't do anything wrong then they didn't get all information to say that they did something wrong yeah like you know what I mean so the players association is asking for a bigger investigation into it so you know what I mean at the end of this if I was Jalen Hurts I probably own the Eagles like I'm the new
[01:50:14] owner of the team after all this or hopefully we haven't seen the last of him on a football team and I feel bad because I've been talking the last few weeks about how it hurts to watch Jalen and I can't take it back years ago yeah and Dame I think had him too at some point Dame had him
[01:50:45] oh yeah I but yeah so Chris Ballard is gone
[01:51:16] I'm imagining Shane Steichen to follow but I do those moves in the off season like it it's like this if you're engaged and you got a destination wedding in November but Valentine's they come around and you don't feel like buying gifts the birthday comes around in April you don't feel like taking another dinner then you probably shouldn't go to this destination
[01:51:46] wedding set in November like you already know and and I think she knew when she stand on the sideline and she seeing how the season fell apart last year and how it was going this year it's like you boy stop you you can't go into this season because what happens is now your whole team is going to blow up in the middle of season your interim GM or your interim
[01:52:16] coach or other people going to be worried that they're next I report that potentially Jonathan Taylor could be on a train block in Minnesota don't know how true that is but that's what happens when it makes sense when people see blood in the water these reports start coming out now these players start hearing it on Twitter like wait hold on and then you go talk to management who's management just fired them so now it's like I'm not getting a straight answer now my agent is talking to the organization
[01:52:46] Jonathan Taylor is not in the building you know like Daniel Jones is not so it's like all kinds of things like literally like Wimby just blocked him twice in less than
[01:53:16] a minute but yeah so Tomahawk dunk and if he blocks it it's a highlight and if he doesn't you get fouled or you get to dunk tough enough I you
[01:53:46] know because you know he's like all numbers said you shouldn't he was completing 57% of his passes in Florida I bet you Anthony Richardson a dunk on Wimby but then you know what I mean Daniel Jones they brought him in it worked out they started off 8-1 or so last year before he got hurt but then they decided like oh he can't walk right now let's give him 160 million dollars so you
[01:54:15] start this season from a deficit they went out and got sauce gardener he got hurt last year so I don't want to knock them for that but then they still don't have a they don't have a pass rush you know outside of isolated you didn't like the linebacker core you said that preseason yeah I don't like the linebacker core and even if you go back before Anthony Richardson you remember they were a fourth down away from the playoffs with Gardner Minshew
[01:54:45] so so you know so Shane Steichen is not hopefully it won't be like Mike McDaniel landed nah I think I don't know I don't think Dallas is getting rid of their coach you know they might I think Washington is
[01:55:15] probably on the verge getting rid of their coach no I so like if you can't win the division like I'm sorry you gotta go fully healthy like Dallas is fully healthy they're not
[01:55:46] missing a single player this week on Monday night football that ain't past them that ain't past them you know what mean but talking about 45 how did my field day how didn't my coach know it was fourth down last night um I don't know I truly did see that yeah so he was the coach
[01:56:16] of the Falcons right and they had the collapse in the Super Bowl and it felt like Shanahan for even though he was the head coach I will get to that it felt like for years after that it was lingering even because I think Shanahan left after that I can't recall but he became the 49ers coach in 18 I want to
[01:56:46] say correct me if I'm wrong Riz so maybe he stayed for one more season after the Super Bowl like I can't recall because I think they brought Sark in or something like that because that's when I was like fire everybody but it felt as if the bad in the game management lingered for years after that it was 20 20 where they had the
[01:57:16] 16 point lead 17 point lead like all these leads like when Todd Gurley scored the touchdown and then Detroit came back and won all you need to do was take a knee at the one and kick a field goal like stuff like that kept happening and it was like it has to be Dan Quinn it has to still linger because they made the playoffs the next year you know after the after the Super was that the year they only got the safety against the Giants no that was I think
[01:57:46] that was the year before this year they lost to Philly in Philly like the ball went through Julio Jones' hands but they beat the Rams that year in the 2017 18 season that's why I even at third and two Jane Daniels should have tried to get the first down
[01:58:17] like he had it when he rolled out he had the six feet in front of him to get and it looked like he was completely uninterested in down to playing quarterback understanding situations making a play when the play needs to be made a lot of can't do it but
[01:58:47] yeah so but for him to say field goal after that so and I think Jane was on the bench he was kind of like smirking as if I think he thought it was third down also so like how do you not know the timeout situation or at the timeout in the next game and make the same type of just mistake and I think he's
[01:59:17] probably going to get fired but I can live with interceptions if you're trying to make a play versus throwing dump offs and not even attempting to push the ball down the field you know to be and no Sean Payton took back play calling like you into the game you know and Washington
[01:59:46] now okay so going to that Dan Quinn is exactly the reason that we're losing you know saying exactly the reason because you know so our offensive line is bad I'll give you that but the secondary is awful now you could argue the GM got to provide better players okay what is Dan Quinn's specialty he got he's hiring first time defensive coordinators with his job
[02:00:16] on the line first time offensive coordinators with his job on the line like you don't say you got to lock something down so you can preserve yourself then you had the clock issue last week so then last night going into the end of the game like I was about to say so let's go back to what Mr. logical was just talking about right you know saying yeah but but but
[02:00:47] so let's say you get the field goal on that drive instead of going for that fourth down that they didn't know was a fourth down so it's 23-20 at that point now you get to the last drive of the game where you're at like the 38-ish 35-ish you know about 20 seconds left you're letting the clock run down again you know Jaden Daniels intentional grounding because David
[02:01:17] Blau called for all the damn receivers to run 20 yards down the field as if we were throwing for a Hail Mary already you know what I mean so there was nobody there for him to dump the ball to and the 49ers just got home and Jaden had I don't even blame him for the intentional grounding because you can't take a sack there so I don't necessarily blame him for that but the problem is that with that intentional grounding comes a 10 second runoff
[02:01:48] so when they snapped the ball there was 12 seconds left so when you run it down 2 seconds are you could play you that you know what I mean
[02:02:19] but that's the point Mike so when it comes to system you're talking about you had Clingsbury he left and I'm not even saying Mike McDaniel is the answer because look at LA right now but he has a relationship with Mike McDaniel but he was like no I'm gonna go hire a dude that hasn't called plays before in year three with my job on the
[02:02:49] line with a young quarterback and then I'm gonna go hire a defensive coordinator who hasn't been a defensive coordinator you know what I mean and give him a secondary that sucks even though my job is I'm the defensive savant as a head coach and I can't come up with a scheme that defends a tight end what decision yes it's I don't know if it was his decision but he's the coach so I gotta keep it consistent right so
[02:03:19] if I'm gonna blame Mike Tomlin for hiring author Smith I can't let Dan Quinn off the hook until I know otherwise until a report comes out and says that Washington made Dan Quinn hire these guys Dan Quinn hired him and
[02:03:57] and and and and think this is something that's kind of affecting a lot of these coaches the SEC and the Big Ten they have all of your blue blood top tier schools in the history of college football between those two conferences USC Texas UCLA Ohio State Michigan all these teams
[02:04:27] a little better Vanderbilt had a nice slow round for a couple of years Mississippi State is getting better Auburn had a good weekend you know so it's like like the talent in that in these regions is all working out but if you're a coach if you bench Arch Manning he's gonna transfer or any player that caliber so I think you're kind of nervous about doing it because you don't want to lose this player because they could just leave you know
[02:04:57] just because they want to I would say keep playing let them keep playing I would take him off my draft board if I was looking for a quarterback though I'm not sure who they got they got Trinidad watch they win they're gonna win 38-31 something crazy like that and the artist gonna
[02:05:28] I don't know if they just don't know that they have a good running game or they just don't know how to use the running game but I was watching the game and I back him on the
[02:05:58] play if they would have given the penalty he would have got the next sack anyway and it would have been second and 20 anyway because they were watching by the way but OKC's up by 21 right now great love it yeah he doesn't look good he doesn't look comfortable he doesn't look he doesn't look like he's a quarterback of a team that has the amount of that's
[02:06:28] because he's not getting the ball out in time or Florida just figured out that like one of these two guys up here can't block because it just felt like that was their weakness last year was the offensive line they had injuries at least then something like I don't know if they just looked at the film and half time and just kind of realized like these two guys here on this side are not communicating well they're not picking up the blitz so they were just collapsing and then you
[02:07:15] it it will make you ignore all the rationale like Anthony Richardson 57% completion you can't ignore that Arch Manning with the talent around them not just they should be averaging 34 points a game easy just throwing screens checkdowns and go routes he threw one good one guy had a double move got him into
[02:07:46] you can't fumble the ball for Georgia as many times you did especially late in the game they just didn't lose any of them but as far as Arch goes the one thing that I do like about Arch there's not much I definitely don't like his last name but one of the things that I do like about him is that he does seem to play better once Texas gets behind so I don't
[02:08:45] know they're just doing things that don't pressure the defense to react to the fact that you have a Cam Coleman over there you know saying the fact that you have a Wingo over there you know like Mike said they don't commit to
[02:09:16] at Texas that the guy thinks it's Sark's fault I'm like no Sark is the play caller though so he's obviously either not committing to that run game or he's calling plays
[02:09:46] that is benched to Mike's point you know what mean never thought I would see today I thought they would
[02:10:16] just ride it I mean a better throw I mean he was wide
[02:10:46] open I think the guy had pressure in his face when he let the ball go slow down Mike I think a better throw makes it easier I think he was so wide open he was thinking like just don't drop this ball don't mess he probably could have veered in a little bit more I think it sort of landed in his hands
[02:11:16] but yeah that's that's a terrible way to lose a there is one undefeated team who is it
[02:11:47] funny you should say is the UCLA Bruins it is the UCLA Bruins remember I told you I said hey could UCLA go through the Big 10 and go 8 and 1 I said I went to the top of my boy Rob he flew out from LA and we were sitting in the
[02:12:17] airport and no we were in the Uber I was thinking
[02:12:47] that you probably enjoyed this past week in college football more than anybody else did I loved it I loved the Florida game just because it right before the fumble right before
[02:13:17] uh yonner stopped the fumble I was like it would be crazy if he fumbled his ball and then he fumbled it and they returned you they look formidable but
[02:13:46] like I said I think the transfer portal and the NIL I know the argument at the congress level is about how much money he's being you know moving around but I guarantee you there were some guys that probably were on another SEC school that transferred to Tennessee after they played them you know last year like you know what this team is all right and that guy is you figure out the money but
[02:14:16] I think the transfer portal was making it to where you're going to have a 19 15 game between four and five but you're also going to have an unranked SEC school go be your number one school on the road so that's Tennessee's third straight home win over Alabama that is Auburn's first win at Georgia since 2005 the first time they've beaten Georgia since
[02:14:45] 2017 you know which was the year that they beat Alabama and Auburn or Alabama and Georgia back to back lost to Georgia in the SEC title game and then we got the national title that was the last time Auburn beat Georgia you ready for things you never thought you would hear 2-5 say let's hear it BYU should be number one
[02:15:16] alright man that's enough for us tonight nah I'm joking so Miami right looking at their schedule they beat FAMU they beat Central Michigan they got the good win over Wake Forest you know they went to overtime with Florida State I mean rivalry game but went to overtime Florida State I think Deuce caught a touchdown that they didn't give them but that's just me not to mention the hold on the
[02:15:46] play before that I think that BYU that win over Notre Dame is better than Miami that's better than anything Miami has right now you know what I mean like so I think that matters and they also beat Arizona this year you know who's probably better than from that standpoint when you're just looking at it from a resume standpoint what have you done to this
[02:16:40] considering all these teams that have been number one this year so far have been in the top three that have lost Miami is like listen this is our
[02:17:10] B number two is surprising that is a big jump coming off that win you know you know the highs and lows of being a kid in college football and then you got to go to Orlando the next week that could be a tough turnaround you know especially without your best player Mr. Logical you remember when Indiana beat Ohio State in the Big Ten championship game it was a while ago how
[02:17:42] many regular season games has Ohio State won in a row over Indiana 17 31 Jesus Christ regular season games you know what mean Julian San is out indefinitely you know with an elbow injury he
[02:18:17] so we go to see what Ohio State looks like going forward you know so I don't know there's a lot going on in college how about Kentucky first place in the SEC right now you know what I mean it's Armageddon out here it's apocalyptic and that's why they shouldn't go they should have stated eight teams for the college football playoffs that should be the number eight not twelve not twenty four not four eight eight is my
[02:19:01] off of twelve we don't get Ole Miss Miami last year if it wasn't a twelve team playoff we don't get Indiana Miami as the national title and how great that game was
[02:19:33] that got you in the BCS that got you in the like when you when you go to twelve you rationalize two lost teams right now we got just LSU at eighteen Bama at thirteen both got two losses they would be an argument to get Utah out to get Bama in over Kentucky
[02:20:03] just because it's twelve teams and we make that argument but if it's eight I can't get that fourteen in that I don't think should be in I think I have fourteen like if you're fourteen fifteen sixteen in the country I don't think you should get a shot especially if like you know nine and three ten and two whatever case when there's eleven and one twelve and old teams ahead of you that's why if you cut it to eight you have to be
[02:20:32] willing to upset someone and I think going to twenty four just appeases everyone and they think oh we get more football but you're going to get a watered down playoff so like I was saying last week I can buy that argument the pushback and problem that I would have is that I just don't trust how they pick the teams in the first place so you know what I mean you can't lie to
[02:21:03] me at eight because you can we had a 14 playoff and left out undefeated team yeah but they they told their version of truth which is oh your quarterbacks out you can't you can't get me like right now if if we were if we were at 18 playoff right I guarantee you LSU and Bama will be 13 and 14 because they will be setting
[02:21:32] it up to ensure that they pass three teams that are 6-1 6-1 6-0 and 6-0 like you you would have you would literally have to get on TV and you can
[02:22:13] get two buys no I don't I don't think you need buys just go 1-8 1-8 2-7 3-6 last thing before we get out of here you know what Nebraska did this weekend did they win a top 25 game no they didn't play a
[02:22:48] sports is poetry Matt rule is miserable but I am looking forward to Auburn LSU this weekend you know go Utes Utah has got Houston coming in so their first big opponent Deion lost another close game they got Oklahoma State coming in preseason you know Penn State
[02:23:17] was one of the teams that we were talking about preseason they got the schedule now they lost four in a row you know because they don't got the team you know what I mean so it doesn't make any sense like they own Western PA recruiting well I mean that's a whole another conversation in the week he is
[02:23:47] the world famous world renowned cool calm and collected he was born in Texas raised in VA he's representing everything new jerse except for the weather because he ran down to Atlanta like mace did he goes by the name of Mr. Logical you're down here in the Alamo watching the Spurs get that ass whooped going left so much you thought I was South Paul don't that's Eli Manning don't forget December 11th I got to tell
