[00:00:34] Sports Reports, no gimmicks, no clowns. 2-5, Mr. Lottical, we run this town. Real talk only, no chasin', no doubt. From the east to the west, it's the order we shout. It's about to go down.

[00:00:59] Yes! You are now listening to the sounds of Sports Reports, it's ordered. It is Friday night, so you know what that means, y'all. Picks, picks, and Moe, picks. Do me a favor out there, like, review, subscribe, share, rate, do all the free things, do all the good things. Liquid Death in hand, you know what I'm saying. Solo show tonight, we got picks to get to, like I just said.

[00:01:25] NFL, got some upsets brewing, I think, this week. You know, we're going to get into some college football picks and overall thoughts. Going to talk about this 2014 playoff. We are everywhere that you get your podcasts. Make sure you're checking out Say Less, Say More. Thursday nights live at 8.30, also wherever you get your podcasts. And let's jump right in, y'all. Let's jump right in.

[00:01:48] So, week six is here. So, this is about the time of season that you start to figure things out. So, the first couple of weeks, right, you had these teams doing things. Like, you had Arizona start off the season with that win over the Chargers. And now we know that the Chargers aren't that good. But, you know, but at the time, we were like, hey, look at Arizona. Look at the things that the Cardinals are doing.

[00:02:13] You know, but then as the season goes on, the Cardinals are who we thought they were. But there's other teams out here. Like, you know, the Browns went on their little run a couple of weeks ago. You know, the Jets have been competitive in most of their games. You know, so I think that we're at a point now where you should be able to, at the very least, recognize what everybody's identity is. Who's going to be the ground and pound team? Who's going to be the air it out team?

[00:02:42] Looking at you, Detroit. Who's going to be the team that can't stop a cold? Cowboys. So on, so forth. And unfortunately, you know, we saw all the injury news going on this week, especially involving Jalen Hurts. He's not going to make it this week. You know, but Philly went out and got Joe Milton. You know, I don't, obviously he won't see the field this week. But we'll just have to see how effective Tanner McKee can be because he's been looking good during the preseason. But is that going to Corverly?

[00:03:12] Because he's been on the roster for some time now. This isn't necessarily like a situation where you're grabbing somebody off the street just to start a game. So, all right. Let's start in Wembley. You know, the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Houston Texans. So the Houston Texans have been very unkind to Trevor Lawrence over his career. You know, he has more interceptions than touchdowns in his career against the Texans. But where are we on the Texans?

[00:03:40] You know, they come into this game 1-4. And while that sounds like a death sentence to most teams, Houston's kind of been here before. You know, they started out 0-3 or so last year. Still ended up winning double-digit games. There's some encouraging things going on with the Texans. Like, even though the record is bad, you know, C.J. Stroud hasn't been bad. Now, he's still taking a lot of sacks. The offensive line can still use some work. Houston still can't run the ball.

[00:04:10] But that never stopped Houston before. Jacksonville, on the other hand, question number one. Why does Jacksonville hate Florida so much? Like, I get it, right? You're the de facto overseas team. But why do you get two games overseas every year? You're giving up two games at home in front of your main fan base. I don't understand it.

[00:04:37] Now, I know that the owner, Mr. Khan, has some ties to England and all of that. So, that obviously plays a role. But I just can't understand why the league allows this. So, Jacksonville played Philly last week in England. And then they got to stay over there an extra week while they waited for the Texans to come in. Now, if you remember, I don't know if it was last season. It might have been two years ago. A similar situation played out.

[00:05:06] Jacksonville played a game in London. And then Buffalo came over the week after. And they were very lethargic. Whereas Jacksonville was amped up, enthusiastic, ready to go. So, is that what the Houston Texans are going to walk into this week? Is there going to be a buzzsaw waiting to chop their head off? You know what I mean? But are we to believe that beating Tennessee suddenly righted Houston's ship? Not necessarily.

[00:05:34] But Jacksonville hasn't looked the part. You know, like last week, you know, the offensive line all banged up. Last second field goal to beat Philadelphia. So, they're kind of stumbling into this game. But they have the advantage because they were already in place. In that game against Philly last week, Jacksonville went 0-3 in the red zone. Which is kind of crazy when you think about it. Because at least on two of those possessions, they got down to the one-yard line. And still didn't end up with any points.

[00:06:04] So, that's going to be concerning. You know what I mean? Now, the good thing is, is that Houston's secondary has left a lot to be desired. Jalen Petrie's out this week as well. But I think this might be a game where Kamari Lasseter gets back on track. Parker Washington, ever since he got to Jacksonville, has been a godsend. You know what I mean? Like, the catches that he makes, the confidence that Trevor has in him. He has become the go-to guy.

[00:06:32] Even though, you know, Brian Thomas was the high draft pick. Brian Thomas Jr. was the guy that was supposed to be the future. You know, LSU wide receiver. But last year, he kind of fell off looking a little better this year. But Jacksonville has more weaponry. So, therefore, more passes to go around. Bashal Tootin's been good so far this season. C.J. Stroud's got his buddy back. You know, you bring in Marvin Harrison Jr.

[00:07:00] And this is great because you're not asking Marvin Harrison Jr. to come in and be Jerry Rice. You know what I mean? You're not telling him, hey, I'm giving you 12 targets a game. Make it work. It's just more like, hey, take a few weeks. Get in where you fit in. Nico's going to hold it down. You know, Tank Dell will be back in a few weeks, hopefully. So, now you get to just kind of exist. Learn the route tree.

[00:07:28] Learn our offensive system. So, but I think that he's still a big enough threat, especially when you're talking about the things that Nico Collins brings to the table. Marvin Harrison Jr. is a big enough threat. You know, and I'm talking about stature. He's a big enough player that you have to pay attention to him. You know, he's not going to blow by you while you win any ins and outs or sluggos and things like that. But he could be that possession receiver, go across the middle,

[00:07:57] and let's see how he can be used. Okay? So, Houston also has no David Montgomery. But I don't even think that that necessarily matters because they weren't running the ball well anyway. So, Houston kind of knows coming into every week, C.J. Stroud has to be at the top of his game. So, I think once you have that expectation, you can adjust to it. It's not ideal by any means. You want to achieve balance.

[00:08:25] But if you can get out there and, you know, make plays, you know, use your legs a little bit, I think that keeps Jacksonville's defense honest. You know, because look at that 15-yard passes over the course of this season. The only team that has given up more 15-yard pass plays than the Jaguars are the Detroit Lions. So, that tells me that there's availability for Houston to be able to move the ball up and down the field.

[00:08:55] Maybe not at will, but you don't need to. Because their pass rush, Will Anderson and the gang, is good enough to, say, hold Jacksonville to 17. You know, they scored 19 against Philly last week. So, I think 17 is a good mark that if Houston can keep the score within that range, they have a chance to win this game. Because going back, right, they played a bad defense in Buffalo and were able to put up 30 points.

[00:09:25] You know, they lost a game to Indy on a field goal where there was just black. Demico Ryans, he just clock management, bad clock management. And we've seen a lot of that over the last week or so. So, I think I'm going to pick Houston to win this game. Get back on track. They got another one next week. Get the bye week. If you can get to the bye week 3 and 4, all of a sudden, you're looking at this team a little bit differently. Especially if they can knock off Jacksonville. You know what I'm saying?

[00:09:55] Because then they have to put them at 2-1 in the division. Give Jacksonville a division loss. And then from there, it's a whole new season. You know, it's a 10-game season. So, we'll see what happens there. Ravens and Browns, you know, up in Lake Erie. Okay. So, first of all, welcome back to Earth, Cleveland. We missed you. You know, they went into New York or New Jersey last week. A lot of bad weather.

[00:10:23] So, you don't want to hold that against them. But the offense didn't look so great. And, of course, things kind of sunk a little bit once KC Concepcion took that hit. You know what I mean? They should potentially get Dylan Sampson back this week. Because their run game needs him. You know, Judkins. Quishon Judkins is only averaging 3 yards a carry right now. And, you know, he's got an ankle injury going on. He's playing. And he'll play. But how effective can he be?

[00:10:53] So, I was excited for this game. Because I saw the line come out. And it said Ravens 4-1. So, you know, my first thought was, oh, Lamar must be back. Well, Lamar has been ruled out again. So, Pro Bowl Huntley, as I like to call him. Go Utes. Because he is a former Pro Bowl quarterback. He did his part in the game against Atlanta last week. He took what the defense gave him. He didn't force the action.

[00:11:20] Until the Ravens needed a score late in the game. And then he kind of showed, this is what we can do. And Baltimore was very impressive in that overtime drive where they held the ball for nearly eight minutes. And just played keep away from the Falcons. Now, I don't think they're going to be doing that against the Browns. You know what I mean? Like, we'll have to see who plays for the Browns. Because, you know, Mason Graham is on the injured list.

[00:11:45] You know, I think that Cleveland is going to present enough of a challenge. Especially if Rashard Bateman can't go. You know what I mean? Where they're going to be able to focus on Zay Flowers. You know, who's been killing everybody in the slot. Going on those crossing routes. Okay? So, maybe in that scenario, you have Denzel Ward following him around. Now, Jacoby Lane is back at practice. Trey Hendrickson's back at practice.

[00:12:15] So, are we going to get something better out of the Ravens than we got against Atlanta last week? Okay. Now, this is going to be a typical AFC North black and blue matchup. So, Deshaun Watson actually, as the Cleveland Browns quarterback, is 2-0 against the Ravens. Who knew? Right? So, this game, being at home, I think serves Cleveland well.

[00:12:43] So, I'm going to take Cleveland to win this game. Something along the lines of 17-16. So, another low scoring nail biter. That's going to come down to a kick or a late possession. So, we talked about Jalen Hurts. You know, and his superficial blood clot. So, first of all, you know, get well Jalen. You know what I mean? Commander fan and all. But you don't wish that kind of stuff on people, right? So, we want Jalen Hurts back.

[00:13:11] I want to watch Jalen Hurts play football, even though I admit it does hurt my eyes from time to time. But they got Carolina coming in. And this is such a bad spot for Philly. Even if, even if Jalen Hurts was playing. Because here they are coming back over from overseas, over in England, while Carolina's coming off a bye. Like, remember they came off a Sunday night football against Detroit. So, they're coming off the bye.

[00:13:38] Now, this is one of those games where if you're a team like Carolina and you want us to take you seriously. You want us to believe in you. You have to come in and stamp this game. You know, because this is a statement opportunity for you to come out and understand that you got a team that's desperate. Because even though Jalen Hurts isn't playing, they still have talent. Looks like Saquon's probably going to be back. You know, Devontae should be back.

[00:14:08] So, you cannot take this team lightly besides the fact that it's a rogue game in a hostile environment like the link. So, if you want us to take you seriously, you got to come out and stuff this team early. I'm talking about get them in an early third and ten. Let Jalen Phillips loose. Because you know he wants to play against his former team, right? You know what I mean? I mentioned the overseas thing coming back from England.

[00:14:33] Teams in this situation coming from overseas and playing a team that was on a bye so far are 0-4. You know, Tank's Bigby is hurt. Will Shipley is hurt. You know what I mean? But the Eagles are in desperation mode. You know what I mean? Because they can't afford to be losing these games if they want to keep their season going. Because looking at the division, you know, you got Washington with a tie in the loss column. And the Eagles have already beat Washington head-to-head.

[00:15:02] You know, the Giants have a tie. Haven't played the Eagles yet. Dallas is going up to Lambeau this week. So, who knows what happens up there. And with Dallas' defense. So, Philly is not out of this by any stretch of the imagination as long as Jalen Hurts doesn't miss significant time. Now, I'm not a doctor. I'm not a physician. But from what I was reading, it is possible that we could see Jalen Hurts in two to three weeks about the superficial.

[00:15:31] Because this isn't a, like, I guess, it's a superficial blood clot. So, it's not deep in there. So, we could see him come back a little sooner than you would normally think. So, all you have to do is hold down the fort. The same thing that Baltimore did last week, right? With Huntley. The same thing that Chicago did with Case Keenum against Philly, ironically. So, you just got to get through quarter by quarter.

[00:15:59] Now, this is where Nick Sirianni comes in. Mr. Logical and I was having a conversation the other night. And Mr. Logical was talking about how Nick Sirianni is a front runner and how, you know, he has to win games to bring that value. So, this is that game where you're a Super Bowl winning coach. You know what I mean? Could you be on the hot seat? Because the last few years, there's been nothing but drama, drama, drama going on in Philly. So, this could be the moment where things start to all fall down. The house of cards, if you will.

[00:16:29] I'm going to take Carolina to win. But I think Philly is going to keep it close. You know what I mean? Like, relatively speaking. So, give me Carolina 23-17. All right. Let's go to Foxboro. The New Jersey Jets is coming into town. Fresh off a win against the Cleveland Browns. So, the thing about the Jets is I was talking earlier about you know what team's identity is.

[00:16:57] So, the Jets' identity seems to be we're going to play great defense because they're fourth in total defense. You know, and we're going to protect the football. So, they're not Ravens 2000 or anything like that. But could this be the Bears with Rex Grossman? Now, the good news is for the Jets that Geno Brown, Geno Smith, I'm sorry, hasn't thrown an interception yet this season. You know what I mean?

[00:17:26] So, there's that. They're getting pressure. They're coming off a week where rookie David Bailey, the number two pick in the draft, had three sacks and that went over Cleveland last week. Okay? So, now you're going up against a New England team with Will Campbell out. You know, so Caleb Lemieux is going to be making his first start. You know what I mean? So, that's issues, right? So, the Jets have defensive pressure that they can employ.

[00:17:52] The problem with the Jets is if the pressure doesn't get home, they can be had on the backside. But I have my questions about New England and Drake May because I know over the last couple of weeks, it's been one of those things where New England's back. They started out the season pretty putrid. You know, the losses to Pittsburgh and Seattle looked awful. But now, as we fast forward to the current time, they went up against Buffalo's defense.

[00:18:21] Now, obviously, Buffalo's a good team, so I'm not trying to do that. But you don't fear Buffalo's defense. And then they played the Raiders last week. So, is it possible that the Patriots are playing with fool's gold right now? You know what I mean? The Jets are playing with house money. Because nobody's expecting the Jets to go into Foxboro and win. The Patriots have owned them for at least the last 15 years, ever since Mark Sanchez won that playoff game against Tom Brady.

[00:18:50] It just kind of went to hell in a basket after that. So, the Jets, you know what I mean? They finally got an interception. You know what I mean? So, you're not worried about that now. You know, Carlton Davis is out. So, is there room for Garrett Wilson to get loose? Probably not because it looks like Christian Gonzalez is going to be back. A.D. Mitchell still injured. Brees Hall still injured. So, when you put it all together, I think we're looking at another defensive struggle.

[00:19:18] That might be the theme of the week is defensive struggle. Now, where the Patriots have the super edge in this game is when it comes to coaching. Because Mike Vrabel should theoretically be able to run circles around Aaron Glenn. But, is New England at a place now where their offense can be trusted? That's the question that you have to ask yourself. They're getting A.J. Brown back. But, could that be a detriment?

[00:19:47] You know, initially. Initially. Obviously, you want A.J. Brown down the road. You know, as the season goes on. But, as you're trying to get a guy like A.J. Brown acclimated back into the lineup. Because, remember, he didn't finish the first game of the season. So, is there going to be a tendency, a pressure, or a game plan where they're going to try to force feed him the ball. To get him involved. To keep him happy. To get him back into the swing of things. Is he on a pitch count?

[00:20:16] Now, these questions matter. So, I think for the time being. For the purposes of this week. Give me the Jetropolitans to win this game. And, I'm going to call it 17-13. Going on down to the compressor. You know, formerly known as the George Dome. You got the Chicago Bears coming in to play the Atlanta Falcons. Now, how many of y'all out there last week was watching that game against the Ravens.

[00:20:44] And, at some point you said to yourself. How are the Falcons going to Falcon this thing? Because you knew that the Falcons were going to Falcon that thing. So, you know what I mean. Caleb Williams looks like he's going to be back. And, you know the Bears want to get back on the field. You know, last week. Rest in peace, Mike Dicka. You know, they came and got their pants pulled down up at Lambeau Field. And, you know. So, I think that if your team coached by a guy like Ben Johnson.

[00:21:14] Super competitive. Super arrogant. You're ready. You're chomping at the bit to get back on that field. Now, Atlanta's coming into the game with their own quarterback issue. Michael Penix got his ribs roughed up a little bit last week. But, he's going to play. He's going to tough it out. But, what if he can't finish the game? What if he takes another hit? You know, ribs are one of those injuries that the next hit could be the last one. So, I'm not going to talk about Tua right now because he's not playing.

[00:21:42] But, if Tua comes on that field during this game. I'm taking the Bears to run away. You know what I mean. It's flat out like that. You know what I mean. But, these are the top two rushing offenses in the league. So, you know what B. John Robinson can do. What are the Bears going to do? Because, it looks like Monongai is still not going to be able to go. So, you don't want to run DeAndre Swift into the ground. That's where having Caleb Williams back could help. Because, you're on grass.

[00:22:09] Remember, he got hurt against Minnesota during a rainstorm. The field, wet conditions, all that kind of stuff. Not a concern this week. Not a concern. You know what I mean. So, I'm going to give you all a piece of advice that you didn't ask for. When it comes to betting on the Atlanta Falcons. You got to take the George Costanza approach. Remember that? Like, whatever your thought is. Just do the opposite. You know what I mean. Just do the opposite.

[00:22:38] So, my first thought when I looked at this game. You know. Was that the Falcons are going to win. You know. And, you know. That was before I knew Caleb Williams was going to play. But, then I said. You know what? But, I'm not picking it. The Bears, though. In road games. This is the tricky part of all this. In their last three road games. And, that's going back to last season. They've given up 30 points or more. I mean, hell. Even the game against Carolina this year.

[00:23:07] Remember they scored 59 in week one. They gave up 37 that day. And, coming into this season. The reason that I didn't pick the Bears to make the playoffs. Is because I was concerned about their defense. Now, what happened to Jalen Johnson? There was a world where about two years ago. And, maybe part to last year. Where he was probably a top five, top six corner in the league. You know what I mean. Or, at least on his way ascending to that.

[00:23:36] Now, he's out here getting trucked weekly. You know what I mean. I don't know. You know what I mean. So, another thing I have my eye on in this game. Is how often do the Bears go 12 and 13 personnel. Because, going back to last week. The Ravens tight ends had a field day. In the compressor. So, is this the week that Colston Loveland finally helps us fantasy owners out? Stand by to see.

[00:24:06] TJ Edwards, though, is injured. You know, Keyshawn Elliott and Grady Jarrett. So, this game will be high scoring. So, I'm not going to give you another score with 17 in it, right? So, this is going to be a high scoring game. Give me the Bears 27-23. Pittsburgh at Tampa. So, Tampa got off the mat last week. Went down to Jerry World. And took over the house. Okay.

[00:24:33] Jalen Daniels is getting valuable experience. I'm not quite at the point where it's once Baker comes back, keep rolling with Jalen. Because Tom Bowles has a job to worry about, right? You can't live like that. All right. Now, Pittsburgh, on the other hand. You know, all season, you know, Mr. Logical has been maligning them because he doesn't believe in Aaron Rodgers.

[00:24:59] And I'm not sitting up here telling you that we're turning back the clock to 2018 and all that kind of stuff like that. But what I am saying is Aaron Rodgers is still a good quarterback right here. My criticism about Aaron Rodgers was he doesn't take risk. You know what I mean? Sometimes you just have to. You have to let your team know that you're willing to put the ball in harm's way because you trust them.

[00:25:26] Aaron Rodgers, a lot of time, looks off a lot of throws, doesn't make a lot of throws, throws the ball away, takes sacks. All in the name of not turning the ball over. And while I can respect the idea of not turning the ball over, you know, you can't expect to score 16 to 21 points every weekend win. Okay? Now, Pittsburgh's defense, you know, is as good as advertised, I think.

[00:25:54] But Tampa's the defense that stands out here. You know, they're second in the league against the run. They only allow 3.3 yards per carry. They are coming off a 10 days rest because they played on that Thursday night football game against Dallas. Now, the Steelers get Rico Dotto back. So now you have the one-two punch. Jalen Warren's been holding it down. One of the most underrated players in the league. But now he gets a partner in crime back.

[00:26:20] Three of the Steelers' five games this year have been decided by a touchdown or less. So they're letting teams hang around. And like I said, that goes back to, I think, some of the Aaron Rodgers stuff where he's not taking chances. He's just trying to not turn the ball over. He's going game manager style. That might work in this game. But as the season progresses, teams are going to have to challenge him to make throws, to make decisions.

[00:26:49] Now, a lot of people are buying into this hype, right, of Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy not getting along. I understand it. But I come from the school of, I don't have to get along with you for us to be successful. But also, what if they do get along? What if they're just competitors that have a relationship of trust? You know what I mean? Now, I know it ended bad in Green Bay.

[00:27:17] But what if there's a situation where it's like, Aaron, I trust you. You're the vet. You're the guy that's been on the field all these years. You know how to read defenses. You could probably see some things that I don't see at times. And then, of course, Mike McCarthy's the coach. So there comes the ultimate decision making, right? So what if we see this infighting, but it's just competitors challenging each other? So maybe it's not all falling apart.

[00:27:46] Maybe it's not all young and the restless, right? So I trust Pittsburgh here. To the point about his turnovers that I was talking about and lack thereof and all of that stuff like that. And I'm telling you right now, nobody is playing any rush defense in this Purdue-Washington game. I'm watching right now. But, you know, so the Steelers are 2-8 with Aaron Rodgers when he has a turnover. Even if it's just one, just when he has a turnover. That includes the playoffs.

[00:28:16] But they're 11-1 when he doesn't turn the ball over. So this is where Antoine Winfield could make a difference if he was playing. You know what I mean? So I'm going to take Pittsburgh in this game. No, not another 17, you know. But I'm going to call it close, too. Call it 24-20. All right. Chargers at Chiefs. Boy, boy, boy. When it rains, it pours. You know, the Chargers had a chance to get their first win last week.

[00:28:45] And I don't know what was more disgusting, the game last week against Denver or the loss to Buffalo where they forced five turnovers and still lost by double digits. Okay. Okay. This game, usually, the Chargers and the Chiefs. This game is usually one of my favorite games to watch every year. You know, when I go into 2-5 sicko mode in the games that only I care about.

[00:29:09] Because every year is a test in psychology with Jim Harbaugh when he plays against the Chargers. Is he going to go forward or fourth down? Is he going to take the points? Is it going to bite them to not take the points once they get stopped on fourth down? Well, this time I don't think it really matters because I think Kansas City is going to come out and put boot to ass. Yes. So, Justin Herbert is currently leading the league in interceptions.

[00:29:36] But you would never know it because his name is not Dak Prescott. You would never know it. You know what I'm saying? Because his name is not Daniel Jones. You know, these guys that get criticism. Like, Justin Herbert is still the golden child. So, while the team is being called out, while people are talking about Mike McDaniels is on the chopping block, how about the Chargers are just playing like shit? Can we say that? You know what I mean?

[00:30:05] This is a whole team issue. Whether it's Quentin Johnson dropping passes or slipping on routes. Whether it's McConkie getting medicine balls thrown his way and getting popped. Whether it's the defense giving up a play after holding their opponent down all game long. You know, isn't a moment of getting a turnover. But you can't cash it in for any points. The Chargers are just bad. So, 11 games against Kansas City. Justin Herbert is 4-7.

[00:30:35] These games are decided by less than a touchdown on average. The last five times these two teams have played, all one-scored games. You know, Rasheed Rice, hamstring, probably out. Taequann Thornton, we saw what happened to him a couple of weeks ago. So, Cyrus Allen and Jalen Royals, it's up to you. But you don't got to leave the office. Travis Kelsey is having a good season so far. You got a great running back in Kenneth Walker III.

[00:31:04] So, I think this game is going to start out like the typical Kansas City, I was about to say San Diego, Charger game. Where you're looking up maybe 6-3 at the end of the first quarter. And you're like, what's wrong with Kansas City? There's nothing wrong with Kansas City. Jim Harbaugh is just a damn good coach. Who can start games? Okay? The problem is, the game doesn't stop there. So, I expect more turnovers.

[00:31:34] I expect Spagnolo to send the house. Give me Kansas City 31-13. Rams and Cardinals. What have the Rams done to deserve to be a 12.5 point favorite? Now, the reason I ask that question is because I could fully buy that the Rams are 12.5 points better than Arizona.

[00:32:00] The interesting part of all this is the coaching matchup. Because remember, you know, a lot of the Cardinals staff came over from the Rams. So, familiarity breeds contempt. Familiarity could, you know, make a close game. So, the Cardinals are not devoid of talent. They have good players on their team. The problem is, they just don't have enough good players.

[00:32:30] But the Rams aren't necessarily out here with all the depth either with some of their injuries and things going on throughout the season. You know what I mean? Marvin Harris is gone. We talked about that. They still got Michael Wilson. Still got Trey McBride. But the name I want to keep an eye on is Jalen Brooks. He was so impressive door in the preseason. And, you know, say he was relatively unknown, you know, coming into the preseason.

[00:33:00] So, you know, he went to South Carolina. You know, and I think during the preseason, he made a name for himself. And there's no surprise that he's in this spot now. And I think he might have been one of the reasons why they're able to move on from a Marvin Harrison Jr. Because I think that he's going to accept the challenge. And I think he's going to answer the bill.

[00:33:25] Now, the Cardinals probably don't have a prayer to win this game. I think that, I don't know. So, when I look at it, I think the Rams just run them off. They don't run them off the field. But I think it's a game that's close early that gets out of hand a little bit late. I think that you're looking at a fourth quarter, right? You're going into the fourth quarter.

[00:33:55] And the score might be something like 20 to 13. And you're like, what the hell is happening to the Rams? You know what I'm saying? Like, is this the Super Bowl contender? Is this the dream team that we came into the season expecting? Then I think they score a couple of late touchdowns that make the score look worse than it actually is. So, give me the Rams 41 to 20. All right. Buffalo, upset alert. Going to Vegas. All right.

[00:34:25] Second straight week of a West Coast game. But from what I understand, Buffalo decided to stay out there this week instead of coming back home. Okay. That's positive. The Raiders coming off their worst loss of the season. You know, they started out 3-0. They played Kansas City almost to a standstill. And then, you know what I mean? Then it came, you know, last week the wheels came off. New England tore them apart. Buffalo, I mentioned earlier about how bad their defense is. And especially against the run.

[00:34:55] So, now it's time for the Raiders to have a little balance. Kirk Cousins kill them with a little play action. And I think Brock Bowers is going to have a near career game this week. You know, I think he's going to go for, say, 12 catches, 109 yards, and two touchdowns. So, yes, I think that this is going to be a close game. What I don't expect, I don't expect Josh Allen to look as pedestrian as he did on Monday night.

[00:35:24] You know, that was one of the worst games of his career. You know, like the only thing that I could think of that might have been a little bit worse was that 9-for-30 game against Houston a few years ago. But Josh Allen, the thing that people forget because everyone is so quarterback-centered is James Cook. Look, the Raiders don't have an answer for him. You know, Dalton Kincaid has been having a good year.

[00:35:52] The Raiders don't have an answer for him. So, this is one of those games where you hear the analysts say, what is the anatomy of an upset? The anatomy is the Raiders got to get turnovers. That's step one. Step two, you have to sustain drives. Keep Buffalo off the field. Get into manageable third downs. And I know all this stuff sounds like common sense. But it matters more against certain opponents.

[00:36:20] Because when you plan against a team like Buffalo, Buffalo can one-hit quit you. Right? Josh Allen over the top. Josh Allen up the middle. James Cook on a toss. Like these things, you could be looking up and be down 14-0 before you scratch your face. So, the Raiders have to stay in this game. Because the Raiders are the little engine that could.

[00:36:47] The longer you let them stay around, the more dangerous the game becomes. I think that's what this game is. I just don't think that the Raiders have enough talent to actually pull it out. But I think, I think that this game is going to come down to the last five minutes. I think this game is going to come down to the Raiders having a turnover with three minutes left.

[00:37:17] I think that this is going to be a game where the Raiders say, Hey, we might not be for real, but we're more for real than we're not. So, give me Buffalo in this game. Close game. 31-24. All right. So, next game. You got the Saints and the Giants. Oh, boy.

[00:37:50] Jameis Winston. You know, last week, you know, he got, I don't know, he turned back the clock, I guess. Playing against that Washington secondary. So, the Saints ain't much better. Now, remember, the Saints were the toast of the town. Coming into the season, they were a lot of people's surprise division winner in the South. You know, then, you know, they came back from, you know, 21 down against Detroit. We won. Went for the two-point conversion. Didn't get it.

[00:38:18] And people said, I like their moxie. The Saints are going to be a force to be reckoned with. So, then they won their next game in Baltimore. And it made everybody take notice and say, oh, shit, the Saints are coming. Well, the Saints then stopped marching. Because the Saints can't hold on to the damn football. So, that's that. Right? So, here's my thoughts on this game. The Saints' offense isn't that good. But, Alave has announced himself to the league as a top-10 wide receiver.

[00:38:48] The Giants' defense is not good. But they forced turnovers. You know, eight so far in their five games. The Saints have allowed the most rushing touchdowns and third-most rushing yards this season. So, what does that mean? That means Cam Scadaboo and a whole lot of ball control. Because he ain't going to break them on you. He's just going to make you pay. So, I can think of a game that looks similar to week one against Dallas. Where the Giants are just milking clock, milking clock.

[00:39:16] And, you know, I talked about this. In that game against Dallas, you could have went to Walmart. You could have did a whole grocery shopping trip. You know, you could have called your mom in the car when you were on your way home and sat in the car for another five minutes. Come in the house, put the groceries away, go to the bathroom. And the Giants still had the football. I think we see something similar to that in this game. You know what the Saints do that they can't do in this game? They give the ball up.

[00:39:44] So, that's why I think that the Giants are going to cruise in this game. Because I think Tyler Shuck is going to give them the football. And, you know, the Saints do have the worst turnover margin in the league. And this is where you start to have those conversations, right? You know, we got all these quarterbacks coming out this year in the draft. Are the Saints going to be eligible or available to grab one?

[00:40:06] Because while Tyler Shuck has looked better, I just don't know if he's good enough. You know what I mean? So, like, if they lose this game, fall to 1-5. The sad part is they're not even out of the division in the South, really. Because, you know, Atlanta could lose this week. I already picked them to lose. You know what I mean? Tampa, you know, still without Baker Mayfield.

[00:40:32] So, you know, that's the thing with the NFC South is that a two-game winning streak has you thinking playoffs. You know, if Tampa wins this week against Pittsburgh, they're going to be sitting there at 2-4. But they're going to be thinking playoffs because of how bad that division is. So, the Saints are going to play hard. I just don't think they got enough to go on the road and do this. You know what I mean? And it's not even because I believe in the Giants. I'm just fading the Saints.

[00:41:01] Just fading them. You know what I'm saying? So, I think the Giants' crews here, I think it'll be something along the lines of 27-17. Saints get a late touchdown to make it look closer than it actually is. Titans and Colts, you know, AFC South, not much better than the NFC South. Tennessee, can't score. Still hasn't really looked the part. You got Cam Ward, the American football player, who was the number one overall draft pick.

[00:41:30] And I think we might be at a point where his leash is just getting tighter and tighter. I don't know how long Tennessee could keep this up. Now, they're 0-5 right now. There's 12 games left in the season. So, are we getting to the point where it's time to bench him? And if it is, like, when? You know what I mean? Like, I think the answer is at some point in this game.

[00:42:00] You know? Because I think that if they can't score on the Colts, you're just a bad team. I'll just put it like that. You know what I mean? Because the Colts are giving up all the yards, whether it's on the ground, whether it's in the air. There's not much going on. And if you're the Tennessee Titans, you have Mitch Trubisky there, a veteran. Obviously, you know, he's not, like, say, Pro Bowl Huntley or anything like that.

[00:42:30] But he's a veteran that can win you a game or two to at least get things back on track. Remember, was it two years ago? I can't remember if it was last year or not. But Carolina benched Bryce Young, put Andy Dalton in the game, and then Bryce Young said something along the lines of, like, that was what I needed. You know, I needed to see this. I needed to see, you know, sit down for a second and just kind of process.

[00:42:59] So I don't know if Cam Ward has faced that type of adversity because going back to college, you know, I first found out about him when he was down here at the Alamo. He was at the University of the Incarnate Word, and he was electrifying, you know, almost knocked off North Dakota State in the playoffs. And it was like, hey, this guy is a talent. Okay. You know what I mean? He goes to Washington State out of the Palouse. Okay. Still looking good. Still lower competition per se.

[00:43:29] But then he went to Miami, and then it all came to be. And you said, that's a Heisman kind of guy right there. But the one thing that has always been a knock for me is how nonchalant he is. And he's not nonchalant personality-wise. He's a competitor. But when he gets on the field, he gets cocky, and he just kind of just stands there, you know, trying to check his text messages before he throws the ball. And then he's like, I guess I'll get rid of it now. Okay.

[00:43:58] Yeah, he caught it. Let's move to the next play. But at some point, I would imagine that that runs really, really thin. But then on the other side, Daniel Jones has been playing an awful season this year. You know what I mean? He has more turnovers than touchdowns. You know, seven turnovers, four touchdowns. Reports have been coming out. People are asking for Anthony Richardson. You know how bad you have to be for the people to ask for Anthony Richardson?

[00:44:28] You know what I mean? Jonathan Taylor averaging a career low, 3.9 yards per carry. Part of that is because there's no passing threat. Alec Pierce has been out. You know, like, you know, they don't have Michael Pittman anymore. So the Colts are playing a very dangerous game. Dangerous in the sense that Shane Steichen might not be the head coach there very much longer. Now, I personally think that Shane Steichen is a decent coach.

[00:44:57] I just think that the GM and the brass have done a bad job of putting talent on that roster. The Colts are 28th in yards allowed. So there you go. As I think about this game, and I'm going to say the same thing that I just said a couple of minutes ago about the Saints. I'm just fading the Colts at this point.

[00:45:22] Give me the Titans to win this game and get off the mat, get their first win of the season. 16-14. Maybe Daniel Jones gets benched next week. All right. Sunday night football. You got the Cowboys going up to Lambeau. Remember last year these two played each other. And we had a 40-40 overtime tie. Micah Parsons saving the game by sacking Dak Prescott, grabbing him by the ankle. And, you know, that's what I always say.

[00:45:52] Sports is poetry in motion. It's either a script or it's poetry, right? Because you couldn't draw that up any better if you tried. You know what I mean? So what's on the line here? You know, the Packers got off the mat, destroyed Chicago last week. Dallas, on the other hand, gave Tampa their first win. And Dallas is one of these teams where their defense is so bad they could lose to anybody. But their offense is good enough to beat anybody.

[00:46:21] One note in this game is who is the Packers defensive coordinator? If you guessed Jonathan Gannon, you guessed correct. I say that to say he knows Dallas very well all those years in Philadelphia. So he knows what Dallas brings to the table. He knows Dak Prescott. Okay.

[00:46:47] So, you know, I think that the Cowboys have given up 20 points or more in 12 straight games. That goes back to last year. They're beat up. They're injured. Javon Hargrave is hurt for Green Bay. But you know who's not hurt? Jordan Love, Christian Watson, Matthew Golden. And you saw last week they hit four at least 40-yard passes against the Bears.

[00:47:17] The Packers' run game is slowly but surely coming along. We'll see when Josh Jacobs gets back or when that'll be, if that'll be. But for the time being, the Packers are running the rock at a decent clip. Now, the Packers are in a division that dictates they have to win this game. Minnesota's already 5-0. You know what I mean? Detroit can score with the best of them. And they're coming up for the Packers. You know, the Bears just getting Caleb Williams back.

[00:47:47] So, Green Bay needs every win that they can get. But I don't trust their corners against these Dallas wide receivers. You know, so give me the Cowboys here. You know, even though we saw Zion McCollum play the best game of his career and locked down CD Land last week. Even though the Cowboys are the only team in the NFL without an interception right now. That changes this week. Give me the Cowboys 30-27.

[00:48:17] Monday Night Football. My commanders heading into, well, I was about to say Candlestick Park. But Levi's Stadium. That's how old I am, y'all. Candlestick Park. I know y'all remember. But the 49ers. We had the conversation the other night. Sorry, Rez, it didn't last as long as you wanted it to. But we were asking if the 49ers are the best team in the NFL. So, let me know what y'all think. Do y'all think San Francisco is the best team in the NFL? They escaped Seattle last week because of a rule that I don't like.

[00:48:47] But it is what it is. They've been dominant for the most part this season. San Francisco has brought it to every team that they've played so far. Now, Washington. This is it. This is it. This is your season. Because, you know, you're already 0-2-1 in your division. Okay? You already have three losses. Two of those division losses that I brought up.

[00:49:16] This has got to be the last stand. How do you respond to adversity? Because all week everybody's been talking about clock management. Did Dan Quinn lose his job? Did Jaden Daniels mess up? Did Jaden Daniels cost Dan Quinn his job? All these questions have been floating around the media space. Okay? So, this is Washington's last chance. Nobody is picking Washington to win this game. And I'm not either. But nobody's picking Washington to win this game.

[00:49:44] Because they shouldn't pick Washington to win this game. Okay? The thing about a guy like Jaden Daniels is that he is such a playmaker that he gives you a chance no matter who your opponent is. Because, you know, there's always a scramble. Which we found out the hard way in that tie. Every scramble ain't a good scramble. Okay?

[00:50:07] But the one thing that Washington does have going for them in this matchup is so far this season, they've had a propensity to stop the run. But the problem is you've got Glock Purdy on the other side. And there ain't nobody on this roster covering Mike Evans. Now, Trey Amos, good back there. Nick Cross should be back.

[00:50:31] So, Washington will have requisite parts to try to force turnovers and do things a little bit better on defense. If they can contain Christian McCaffrey, they can stay in this game. Now, the problem for Washington outside of the fact that San Francisco is just infinitely better is they've only come. This is Washington. Only converted 32% of their third downs this season. 29th in the league.

[00:51:01] And their average third down distance is 8.1. You can't do that against San Francisco. Raheem Morris has that defense plan lights out. Fred Warner is back knocking out his own teammates and anybody else in the way. So, Washington's going to have to do a lot of quick pass, some receiver screen, some digs, some hitches, some curls, to where you can get the receiver the ball and have him turn upfield.

[00:51:30] You know what I mean? The only problem with that is San Francisco can be very opportunistic as well. You know, Renardo Green I'm thinking about in this situation. But I think Washington puts up a fight because I think that's going to be their story this year is, but we played them close. You know what I mean? So, give me San Francisco in this game and I'll call it 30-23. So, those are the picks. What do you think I got right? What do you think I got wrong?

[00:52:00] Let me know. As we transition to college. So, this week, you know, for those of you new around here on Sports Reports Disorder, for the college football games, I like to pick out bets that I like. Whether that's an over-under, whether that's an underdog, whether that's a straight-up upset, whatever the case may be. There's no number to it. It's not 10. It's not 7. I just look at what I like and I just tell you what I like.

[00:52:29] So, one week it might only be four games. Some weeks it might be 15. So, let's go. I want Wisconsin straight up at UCLA. So, I like UCLA. I like Bob Chesney. But, you know, without Nico and, you know, Wisconsin coming off the bye, I just think this is a prime spot. You know, coming off the win against Oregon, I think this is a prime spot to get got. Sparty, that'd be Michigan State covering 8.5 at home against Northwestern.

[00:52:59] You know, give me Arizona State plus 15.5 down in Lubbock. I was actually tempted to take this straight up. Because if you remember, Texas Tech won regular season loss last year. Will Hammond started against the Sun Devils. Now, this Sun Devils team is not the same team as evidence of them getting mollywhopped by Baylor a few weeks back. But I don't think Texas Tech is the team that they were last year.

[00:53:28] Hell, I don't think Texas Tech is the team that people thought they were coming into this season. Now, of course, there was the matchup a couple of Fridays ago. I got burned because I picked Houston straight up to go into there on that Friday night and get the win. And it came down to a couple of inches from overtime. So, I think Texas Tech is still trying to figure it out. They're learning life without Jacob Rodriguez, Romello Height, and others are like David Bailey.

[00:53:57] So, I think we're starting to see Texas Tech kind of fall back to the rest of the Big 12. Now, they're still good enough to win it, mostly because they don't play anybody. You know, I don't think they play either one of the Utah schools. They do got Oklahoma State in a few weeks, though. But, yeah, give me Arizona State to cover that 15-and-a-half. Give me the over in the Sunflower Showdown. That is Kansas in Kansas State. Side note, spread is only 5-and-a-half.

[00:54:26] I've seen it 4-and-a-half some places. Kansas State has won 17 straight against the Jayhawks. Keep your eye on that. What up, Rez? You don't say that, of course. He showed up after I was done talking about the 49ers, and he going to accuse me of not talking about the 49ers. All right. Give me Boston College covering 6-and-a-half against Cal. I'm sorry, against Rice. I mean, against Pitt. I'm all over the place. Sorry. BC covering 6-and-a-half over Pitt.

[00:54:55] Give me Rice in the upset. Straight up. Straight up over Tulsa. You know what I'm saying? Riding with the food this week. USF, Kent State over 45-and-a-half. And finally, finally, no apologies here, sir. Cal plus 9-and-a-half against Wake Forest. That does not mean that I don't believe in Wake Forest. It does not mean that I think that Wake Forest is a bad team or anything along those lines.

[00:55:23] It's just that I think that traveling out to the West Coast, we've seen with these bigger conferences, these teams that have to go across the way, they don't generally play well or they get off to slow starts. And I think JKS coming back is good enough to put a scare into Wake. So I think Wake wins. Give me Cal covering. You know, Coastal Carolina 24-14 over Appalachia State.

[00:55:49] At the half right now, Tulane 23-10 over Memphis. You know, so all you Will Hall haters out there, you know, say you might have to apologize after this and then this Purdue-Washington game where no one is playing any kind of run defense. 24-17 Washington. We're getting close to halftime. All right, so now we're going to preview a couple of college games and then we're going to talk about the 2014 playoff.

[00:56:17] All right, so here we go. Let's start this off. Tomorrow we get the rematch. Last year, Big Ten Championship game. Ohio State came in undefeated. Best defense in the country. Here comes these young punk Hoosiers who was one of the worst football programs of all time, especially from a Power 4 perspective. You know what Indiana did?

[00:56:46] Kurt Sigmasty walked out there, bullied Ohio State. Now this goes back to some of the thoughts that I had that some of you TikTokers got mad at me for saying, but all I did was speak the truth. And I'm going to continue to do so. So the problem with Ohio State is that they don't get challenged enough. So it's a catch-22, right? Because if you can win a football game by 20 points, you're going to win a football game by 20 points,

[00:57:15] and why should you complain about it? The problem is last year, they dominated and walked through their whole schedule. So they got to Indiana, a team that wasn't afraid of them, a team that could match up with them at certain positions, a team that had as good of a coach as they have. Ohio State only put up 10 points in that game. So I've been talking to people all week, and they're telling me, Indiana can't stop Jeremiah Smith. I got news for you.

[00:57:44] Nobody stops Jeremiah Smith. But what I will also tell you is that last season in that game, Jeremiah Smith went eight catches, 164 yards with a touchdown. And if you rewind this video about 10 seconds, you'll hear me say Ohio State got held to 10 points in that game. So Jeremiah Smith going off is not necessarily the path for Ohio State to win this game. The path for Ohio State to win this game

[00:58:11] is a Julian saying to target everybody else. Right? I know it sounds a little counterproductive, but stay with me for a second. So then they get to the playoff, right, against Miami, a team that's as athletic, maybe more so, a team that was as good as in the trenches, maybe a little better, and they couldn't get off the ground. So what changed between now and then? They played Texas earlier this year,

[00:58:39] who has one of the better defenses in the country. They jumped out to a 23-3 lead. You know what they did in that game? I'm going to tell you what they did in that game. You know, and I'm sorry, I messed that up. It was eight for 144 for Jeremiah last year. He went eight for 164 this year against Texas. They blew a 20-point lead. You know why? Why? Because Julia Sand didn't throw the ball to anybody else.

[00:59:08] So if you look at Ohio State's stats this year, you know, right now, Jeremiah Smith has 48 catches. Okay? Their next leading receiver came from down here at UTSA at the Alamo. Devin McEwen, 17 catches. Did you hear what I said? Jeremiah Smith has 31 more catches

[00:59:35] than the next Ohio State receiver. Okay. Now, in the Texas game, that eight for 164, right? The next leading receiver was a running back. Four catches for 37 yards in that game. The next receiver was Brandon Ennis, one catch for 19 yards. Devin McEwen, who I mentioned, one catch for five yards in that game. So, the point being

[01:00:06] is that, is it possible to lock in too much on your star? And this is what I was talking about with the Patriots earlier. Like, are they going to force feed A.J. Brown now that he's back? So, this is where the defense goes basketball style, right? Because you get to the NBA playoffs and you say, huh, do I let Kevin Durant score 35 and shut down everybody else? Or do I just

[01:00:36] let the game play out and step in when I have to? So, if you're an Ohio State opponent and you're Indiana tomorrow, now Indiana's got some secondary injuries. D'Angelo Pons is in the NFL now because that's probably who would have got the Jeremiah Smith matchup if he was still around. Indiana's been playing a lot more zone than they've wanted to. That leads to Jeremiah Smith across the middle. Okay? Now,

[01:01:06] Indiana last week against Nebraska, they were down 17-6 in the fourth quarter and we thought, oh, it's over until Charlie Becker took a screen 75 yards. Now, Turbo Richard is going to be important in this game. How healthy is he? You know, he came back from the ankle injury and everything. We'll see how that goes. This is a changing of the guard, I think.

[01:01:36] Because prior to last year, Ohio State had won 30 straight against Indiana. This is the first time in Indiana history that two top five teams have played each other in that stadium, in Memorial Stadium. Ohio State since 1951, including last year, is 61-3 in two ties against Indiana. But you know what Indiana didn't have for a lot of those games? They didn't have

[01:02:05] Kirk Signetti. Now, where things get a little interesting on the Indiana side of this is that coming into the season, the knock on Josh Hoover transfer from TCU was he turns the ball over way too much. He puts the ball in danger way too much. You know what Hoover hasn't done? He hasn't turned the ball over this year. So something's got to give. Either Ohio State's going to have to force a turnover, finally, by him, or Indiana's going to, or I'm sorry,

[01:02:35] Ohio State's going to have to target other people besides Jeremiah Smith. As good as Josh Hoover has been with the football, he is not Fernando Mendoza. You add it all up, throw it in a pot. You look at Ohio State, and you say, Ohio State is so talented. Every single year, right? They've only lost 16 games or so since 2015.

[01:03:06] But you know what Ohio State doesn't have this year? They don't have a Sonny Stiles. They don't have an Arbel Reese. They don't have a Caleb Downs. They don't have a Carnell Tate. And when they had all of them, they lost to Indiana on a neutral field. This game is at Memorial Stadium. Give me the who, who, who, Hoosiers

[01:03:36] 20-16. Bama at Tennessee. You know what that means? It's the third Saturday in October. Somebody's going to be puffing on some cigars after this one. The last two times Alabama's gone to Knoxville, they've walked out with an L. And the first one was probably the one, remember the field goal kick, 52-49, and they threw the goalposts into the river and it was on Google Maps and all that

[01:04:05] awesome stuff, man. Nothing beats college football. Okay? Now, this is the question Tennessee has to answer. Did Texas expose them? Because when Josh Heifel first became the coach of Tennessee, it was all about the offense. It was innovative. They had Alex Golish as the offensive coordinator. Shout out to the Green Wave, not Tulane, Somerville's own. You know what I'm saying? We get live

[01:04:35] updates. You know what I mean? But Alex Golish left and Tennessee changed their identity to that of a defensive squad. And you see that in the pudding. The proof is in the pudding this year because they lead the nation in sacks as we speak. Okay. But when Texas came in there a couple of weeks ago, Texas got 10 quarterback sacks in that game. Enter Alabama. Now,

[01:05:04] last year, if you remember, going into the game in Tuscaloosa, that game was back and forth. until a pick six right before the half turned the game on his ass. Didn't turn it on his axis. It turned it on his ass. And then Alabama cruised to a 17-point win. Why did I bring that up? Because Alabama has played six games this year and they have four pick sixes.

[01:05:34] Okay. Faison and Brandon came into the season freshman, freshman, had Tennessee looking like a college football playoff contender. He's got a bum shoulder. He's been ineffective. George McIntyre is going to start his second straight game. You know what Tennessee has done with George McIntyre? not look like they did with Faison and Brandon. So points are going to be at a premium for Tennessee in this game. So that means that you've got to drag Alabama down to

[01:06:04] your level. So the good news for Tennessee and I don't mean this as good news because it's not good news but for Tennessee it is no Ryan Coleman Williams. He's not playing. Alabama may be without their starting center. So now you have a path, right? If I can get pressure on the quarterback, if I can disrupt this center on the road in Neyland Stadium, one of the toughest places to play in the country, can we force a

[01:06:34] couple of false starts? Can the crowd get this going? Now of course it don't matter third and 15 Keelan Russell still going to make you pay. But he's been getting hit all season. And without that center that just brings the probability of him taking more hits up just a little bit. Now, what is Kaelin DeBoer's mind frame going into this game? Because if you remember we had the conversation the other day about his over reaction or

[01:07:03] maybe valid reaction to D. John Lee's penalty against Georgia that he said cost them the game. So what was this week like in practice for Alabama? Alabama did force four turnover or four fumbles against Georgia last week. Georgia just recovered all of them. So where does that leave Tennessee? Deshaun Bishop is going to have to take over this game. He's going

[01:07:33] to have to keep the chains moving and Tennessee is going to have to take the air out of the football and force Alabama to press when they get on the field. Tennessee has not scored 24 points or more than 24 points I should say because they did score 24 against Arkansas last week. They have not scored more than 24 points in their SEC game so far this year. So I think the magic number in this game is 27 for Tennessee.

[01:08:02] If Tennessee could get to 27, I think you give yourself a shot. Problem is, I don't think Tennessee gets to 27. So give me Bama to cover the eight and a half and I'm going to take Bama let's call it 30 to 20. Notre Dame at BYU out in LaVelle Edwards Stadium in Provo. This game is so interesting to

[01:08:32] me, but it's for the things that aren't necessarily on the field. So this is the first time that these two, they've played nine times previously, but this is the first time they've played where both of them are in a top 10 matchup, meaning them being in the top 10 and their opponent being in the top 10 in LaVelle Edwards Stadium. Question of the game, how does Notre Dame react to adversity?

[01:09:03] So we saw them week zero Labor Day weekend against Wisconsin come out early and they went tit for tat toe to toe until Wisconsin had a special teams blunder and then the game just kind of broke open from there. Notre Dame won by four touchdowns and people said, see, Notre Dame is still good. Taking away that whole first half of evidence that Notre Dame might not be as good

[01:09:32] as they were projected to be. Now, since then, not really much on the schedule. I mean, I guess Purdue was a little bit better than people thought but not really much on the schedule when you look at it. I mean, they just beat Stanford what, 58 to 10 or something like that last week, 58 to 7. So by the way, Stanford's been outscored 115 to 10 in their last two games because they lost 57 the week before that. I don't know why that popped in my head. It just did. But anyway,

[01:10:03] Notre Dame is getting Leonard Moore back, probably the best corner in the nation. You know, they're getting Jason Olye back. BYU is still missing LJ Martin. So what did they do without LJ Martin last week against Iowa State? So Bear Bachmeier had a good rushing game, nine rushes for 109 yards in that game. But let's take him out of the equation and just look at the running backs against Iowa State, BYU running backs,

[01:10:34] 22 rushes 68 yards. Okay. Key to the game, needless to say, can they run the football because they don't throw the ball very well to begin with? Notre Dame is going to be all up in Bear Bachmeier's face. He's going to have to use those legs. But can BYU force CJ Carr, who hasn't really been pressured a lot this year, who's a Heisman front runner, are they going to be able to pressure him, make him make quick decisions and throw the ball

[01:11:04] before he's ready to? Because so far he's been comfortable sitting like a fat cat back there this year. Okay. Notre Dame leads the nation in total defense, 214 yards. So I might lean BYU team total under while taking Notre Dame to cover the 10 and a half here. I'm taking Notre Dame in Lavelle Edwards Stadium in the altitude, in the mountains,

[01:11:33] but give me Notre Dame 24 to 6. So let's go around the nation real quick and we're going to talk about this 24 team playoff as well. So things that stand out to me real quick, these are two sentences or less before we get to the playoff. So I'm interested in Ole Miss and Missouri. You know, say in Missouri, Eli Drinkowitz doesn't get enough credit for the job that he's done in Columbia. He doesn't always beat the ranked teams,

[01:12:02] but he's turned Missouri into a program that's worthy of respect. The reason that that game stands out to me is not because Ole Miss is only favored by five and a half and Ole Miss goes to Texas next week by the way, but what stands out to me is Austin Simmons going up against his former team. And I know Rez is wondering who the hell is Austin Simmons. I will tell you. So two years ago, and I'm sorry, this was longer than two sentences, but I'm going now. Two years ago,

[01:12:39] Austin Simmons came in when Jackson Dart got hurt. You know, Jackson Dart, they beat Georgia down 38-10, I believe it was. He came in off the bench and he was a touchdown drive as a freshman against the Georgia defense, and all the alarms went crazy. Austin Simmons got next. So then you come into last season, he was ineffective the first two or three games, got hurt, and then there was a guy named Trinidad Chambliss, who nobody had heard

[01:13:09] of from Division Three, who came in and said, oh, you left this seat for me, and Ole Miss hasn't looked back since. So don't think that you're not going to get the best of Austin Simmons tomorrow. That's who Austin Simmons is. I wouldn't be surprised if Missouri won outright, but I'm going to take them to cover at the very least. who knew that Houston and Oklahoma State would be such an important game? The winner of this game might have a chance,

[01:13:38] an inside shot to go to the Big 12 championship game. If you look at Oklahoma State, aka the new North Texas, remember their loss on the season was to Tulsa in week one. As we sit here, Oklahoma State has not taken an L in a Big 12 game yet. Houston, on the other hand, lost that Friday night game at Lubbock that I was talking about a few minutes ago. So the winner of this game sets themselves

[01:14:07] up, and I know, I know 2014 playoff ain't gonna make this game as important because Houston is probably out of the Big 12 race with a loss here. It's at home, so, you know, but I'm gonna take Oklahoma State straight up, but I was just thinking about that. All right, let's talk about this 2014 playoff that everybody's upset about, rambling about, so let me let you into the brain of 2-5 for a second.

[01:14:37] So 2-5 likes ratios, 2-5 likes percentages and things like that. So when I look at the NFL, I see 14 out of 32 teams make the playoffs. You know, you look at the NBA, and if we're counting the play-in, I see 20 out of 30 teams make the playoffs. college basketball, you see about what?

[01:15:05] It's 68 out of 363. So lower percentage, but still a high amount of teams when you're just looking at the raw number. So college football, FBS has 138 teams. I'm not gonna cry because 24 teams are going to a playoff. You know what I mean? Especially when we were at 1.4 out of 132. So I'm not gonna cry about that. Now, what I will

[01:15:35] say is I don't like it. I don't even like 12. Like, I thought 8 is the sweet spot for me. Okay? But I could probably live with 16 because when I go back and look at last year, because all you can do is look at the past for situations like this. If we had 16 last year, BYU and Notre Dame probably get in the playoff. Now, I do miss the exclusivity of the college football playoff. So even though I mentioned those

[01:16:04] ratios in those other sports, college football was different because year to year, how many teams do you actually believe can win the national title? But okay, let's peel it back a little. I didn't want 12 teams, but you know what happened last year? A Miami team, that lost a bad Friday night game to Louisville where they committed four or five turnovers at home and then followed it up by losing to SMU, made a

[01:16:34] national title run. An Ole Miss team that didn't even play for the SEC championship, in fact, Ole Miss has never made the conference championship game, made a run to the semifinals to include beating Georgia in the playoff. So when I think about it like that, the playoff isn't illegitimized because Alabama doesn't win it,

[01:17:05] because Georgia doesn't win it. Texas wasn't going to win it anyway, but because Texas doesn't win it. The Big Ten has won the last three national titles to include Indiana. Indiana. So as I look at this 2014 playoff, let me tell you my problems with the 2014 playoff. My problem with the 2014 playoff, it's still all owned by ESPN. Only airing

[01:17:34] on ESPN at least when it starts next year. I also don't like the committee is still around because my problem with the playoff, I don't care if it's four teams, I don't care if it's eight teams, I don't care if it's 12, 16, 24. I'm never going to like the playoff when this committee exists. Because just going back to last year, I don't want to rehash it too much, so I'm just going to say it and get out. But y'all let me know what y'all think. Y'all let me know if y'all think I'm off base.

[01:18:04] But last year, for example, oh no, that's not get crazy now. You know what I mean? So when you look at it, right, the committee had Notre Dame in front of Miami all year, even though Miami won the head game. You had Bama get mollywhopped by Georgia in the SEC championship game. BYU got slashed by Texas Tech. And they

[01:18:34] said that conference championship losses don't hurt you, but Bama got in, BYU didn't. College football was supposed to be the sport where every week was a playoff. But as I mentioned on Around the Nation the other day, what happened in 2011 when LSU won a game in Tuscaloosa and Alabama got a rematch? That was the BCS. That was only two teams. We had a one-loss Oklahoma State team who beat more ranked teams than Alabama

[01:19:04] that year. But hey, SEC umbrella, Alabama, SEC's the toughest. Alabama got their rematch and won the national title. Okay? So, the committee chooses what loss is better. they use ESPN generated stats that are leaned towards the SEC. So, it doesn't matter how many teams

[01:19:34] we put in this playoff, the playoff is still going to have the same fundamental problem. Now, I've been hearing people say, oh, but there's no sense of urgency. I had a Georgia fan tell me the other day on TikTok that he wasn't invested as much into the Bama-Georgia game the other day because there was no urgency because both of them are probably going to make the playoff. Sir, no disrespect,

[01:20:04] but if you can't get behind a top 10 Georgia-Alabama matchup, especially as a Georgia fan, maybe you don't like football as much as you say you do. Let's start there. Okay. Now, this came to be because two years ago, Alabama, Ole Miss, South Carolina all finished 9-3. Alabama and Ole Miss beat South Carolina that year. Bama and

[01:20:34] Ole Miss didn't play each other. But then the argument was look how tough their schedule was. One of these three should be in over SMU or somebody like that. And then last year, you know, Bama got in because they lost that conference championship game. If Bama would have got in that first year, they probably wouldn't have got in last year. But you ain't leaving out Bama two years in a row. So the problem is not how many teams are in the playoffs. The problem is that you're using brands to select who makes the playoffs.

[01:21:04] You formulate your argument based on prejudicial data. Right? Because as the college football playoff rankings come out, the initial one always kind of mirrors the AP poll. What does that mean? For example, this week, we have nine SEC teams in the top 25. So you know what that means?

[01:21:33] That when the committee comes out with their rankings, everybody that Georgia and Alabama beat is going to count as a good win. It's going to count as a ranked win. And then you know what's going to happen? Some of those teams are going to lose to other teams. And they're going to fall out the ranking. But then at the end of the season, as long as they don't totally shit the bed, they're going to be in there like number 23 and number 24 just so we can keep saying that X SEC team has five

[01:22:03] ranked wins. So no matter how many teams you put in the playoffs, you're going to run into that issue. I seen on Twitter people talking about, yeah, who cares about an 8-4 Iowa team playing against an 8-4 Texas A&M while 10-2 Boise is at home. You don't want Boise there anyway. The G6 is only getting one spot in this 2014 playoff until the G6 decides to

[01:22:32] sue or do their own playoff. It's not a matter how many teams you put in the playoff. It's the structure. It's the bones of the playoffs that's the problem. now, I don't want to hear none of this shit because bowl games have been dead for at least 10 years if not a little bit longer. You know what I mean? Half the time, bowl games, you don't even know who's going

[01:23:02] to play because people are protecting their draft stock or there's no NIL penalty. Like, you know, there's no, hey, you either play this bowl game or you forfeit some of your NIL. So, you were complaining about there being too many bowl games. So, now you're going to complain about me putting stakes on games? Where they do that at? It ain't logical. It ain't logical. Now, I truly

[01:23:31] believe no matter how many teams are in this playoff, you're going to watch what you want to watch because you have the ability to. So, sickos like me that will sit around and watch a 6-3 Minnesota play against 6-3 Iowa Floyd or Rosedale, all that. The loser is going to probably be eliminated for playoff contention. Y'all weren't going to watch that game anyway.

[01:24:02] Y'all were going to find Tennessee and LSU. Doesn't matter how many teams are in the playoffs. You are Yes, I don't like the travel part of this because now you're putting fans in a precarious spot. Now, the first two rounds are going to be at home as opposed to the one college football playoff game that's at home stadiums now.

[01:24:32] So, now you're starting to get into these traveling logistics and spending money, right? Because, like, look at this last year, right? Like, I made up a playoff last year. You know what I mean? So, like, last year, the first round of this 2014 playoff, in my eyes, would have been Arizona against USC, Michigan against Utah, Virginia and Vandy, Tulane, Texas, Houston, BYU, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Iowa, Miami, Duke, Alabama. So, let's just

[01:25:02] extrapolate this for a second. Let's just look at this for a second. So, yes, if I'm an Iowa fan and I'm the number 23 seed playing against Tennessee, Miami, and I go to Miami and win that game, and then I gotta go to Texas A&M next week, who's the seventh seed. Yeah, there might be an issue with that from a money standpoint of what I'm showing out, but I don't see the problem with having more fan bases

[01:25:31] invested for a longer point of your season, right? Because this Georgia fan told me that, you know, he didn't care about Georgia Bama last week. So, imagine how an Iowa fan felt after they lost to Ohio State a couple of weeks ago. Oh, I know, I've seen this story before, we can't score, season's over. But now I'm creating a window for excitement because now you're going to ask me,

[01:26:01] well, how many of these 24 teams can win the national title? It depends. Maybe you go into the playoffs with four of them, four legit teams that could win the national title. But what if an upset happens? What if Iowa does go beat Miami? You know what I mean? What if, you know, Duke, well, I didn't even go do that because that wasn't going to happen. What if Georgia Tech were to beat Notre Dame?

[01:26:31] And then go play Ole Miss the next week is it suddenly not worth it? The playoff is not flawed because the team that you want to win doesn't win. We see this in the NBA all the time. You know, saying, oh, OKC got upset in the second round. Well, so? If they were better, they would have did better. Doesn't matter how many teams you have in the playoffs.

[01:27:01] You still got to go put it together on the field. Now, I think 24 is ridiculous. But I will also say that FCS has been 24 for about at least 25 years now. And the thing that makes it hit home to the point that I was just making, that's your argument,

[01:27:30] your point in the argument versus me losing a point, is that with the 24 teams, you still had North Dakota State win something like nine out of the 14 last titles or something like that. So, yes, that very well could exist. But I would venture to say the reason that a lot of you are against the 2014 playoff or at least I'm against it too, but I at least I'm open to it and I want to see it

[01:27:59] play out. But I think the reason that a lot of you aren't is just because there's going to be teams that you don't care about, which is a you problem, not a sport problem. You know what I'm saying? I will watch. I'm going to Navy UTSA tomorrow. If one of those teams was in the playoffs, I'd be watching. You probably wouldn't. Maybe Navy because support the troops, but you probably wouldn't watch a UTSA playoff game because you would just assume they're going to lose by 40.

[01:28:29] that's a U problem, not a sport problem. Because if I told you that Iowa doesn't get in, but LSU does, you don't care that LSU has three losses because you're just going to say they lost to Bama, they lost to Ole Miss, they lost a tough schedule. So you ain't going to shit on three loss LSU for being in the playoff,

[01:28:59] you just don't want three loss Michigan State there. You know what I mean? Like think about those games that I just gave you, right? Where I was talking about, you know, the 2014 playoff last year. So like, let's say, for example, when I said, you know, Georgia Tech and Notre Dame, what if I said Florida State instead of Georgia Tech? You're looking at that completely differently. When I said Virginia against Vanderbilt,

[01:29:29] what if I had said Virginia Tech against Florida? You would look at that completely differently. So it doesn't matter how many teams are in the playoffs. You just want the teams that you want to see in the playoffs. How many of y'all are watching Tulane and Memphis right now? How many of y'all are going to call yourselves college football fans, but aren't watching Washington and Purdue right now? That's the crux of this argument. You know what I mean?

[01:29:58] Because you don't have a problem in any other sport, maybe March Madness, but a lot of people like the NBA playoff play-in. How many playoff teams are going to win the NBA title? Play-in teams are going to win the NBA title, right? Now that there's the one buy in the NFL, are you going to go into every playoff thinking that the seventh seed can win the playoff?

[01:30:26] You going out here picking eight seed NHL teams to win the Stanley Cup? Only in college football do we do this. I love the sport, but I don't want to watch more of it. It doesn't even make sense. On a basic fundamental rudimentary level, that does not make sense. My problem with the 2014 playoff is not the 2014

[01:30:56] playoff. It's the jackasses that make the selections of who gets into the playoff. Those are just my thoughts. Let me know what y'all think. Where did I get it wrong? Where did I get it right? Who's your upsets of the week? What bets do you like this week? I'm 2-5. This is Sports Reports Disorder. Mr. Logical will be back on Tuesday when we recap all this.

[01:31:25] Tuesday is also our NBA preview because Tuesday night we get OKC, San Antonio, we get Knicks and Sixers and early in the day we get Pistons, Celtics, the NBA is back. Sports Reports Disorder will be back. Thanks for your support. If you're a first-timer, welcome. If you're coming back, welcome back. Well, let's go, Red, share your thoughts. If you got a second, I'll let you come on and get in the

[01:31:54] chair, but let me know the thoughts. But you know what I mean? Hey, this Purdue-Washington game, if y'all like offense, this is the game for you. 24-17 about halfway through the third quarter. Purdue trying to go 4-2, who I know nobody had that on their card, their bingo card for this year. But you know what I mean? Like, review, subscribe. Oh, never mind. Hold on, y'all. Don't go nowhere yet. Don't go nowhere yet. Apparently,

[01:32:23] El Residente is going to join me here in a second. You know what I mean? So we're going to keep the conversation going. But I'm not going to sign off just yet. But yeah, let me know your thoughts about the college football playoff and its expansion. Let me know what you think about James Madison. And you know, James Madison joining the American Conference. What do you think the next American Conference moves are? What do you think the next realignment moves are? Do you think that Miami of

[01:32:52] Ohio is going to pay the $40 million and the Americans going to accept it so that they can get in to the American Conference? Is this 2014 playoff the precursor to the Super League? You know, where we're talking about all these teams, you know, 64 teams maybe, maybe not even that many, but the Power 5 teams all of a sudden having their own league where they freeze the G6 out?

[01:33:22] Do you think that's coming? I don't know, but here we go. Stand by. El Residente from Say Less, Say More, from Power to the People will be joining me here in a quick second so he can share some of his thoughts about some of the things that I've said tonight. So, you know what I mean? But I don't know, man. Like, I just love college football, like, as y'all can tell by probably the passion that I spoke about it with versus, you know, how I was talking about the NFL. And here he

[01:33:52] is, y'all, the man, the myth, the legend. El Residente is here. Looks like he's on the road. So, uh, what you got? I am. I am. What up, bro? How's it going, man? Good, man. Good, man. First time, long time. Oh, hold on, time off. We got an invasion. We got Radical Jack, too? Hey, man, you already know what it is, man. It's your boy Ringo Van Dingo. Okay. You already know what it is. I just had to come on here and shout out my boy, Two Five, man. Holding it down,

[01:34:21] holding it down one time for the one time on the best podcast in the world. Best podcast. If you need sports, any reports, and you need them ordered, tune in to Sports Reports and so on. Yeah, and I'm sorry to my liquid death family out there, you know what I'm saying? Like, I was a little under the weather, so, you know, I had to get me a medicine ball and everything, but, you know, what you got, Rez? What are your thoughts? Nah, man, I was just listening to your conversation. One, I wanted to make sure I shout out to, you know, Kim, I checked on the pod because you're out here killing the dolo tonight, but the conversation

[01:34:51] about the expansion, man, I don't think that adding more is a good thing always. I'll give you a good example, right? Kool-Aid, right? Kool-Aid is amazing. People love Kool-Aid, but add any too much, add too much of any one flavor in Kool-Aid, and Kool-Aid isn't good anymore. You take Kool-Aid, you add too much sugar, Kool-Aid's terrible. Add too much water, Kool-Aid's terrible. Add too much Kool-Aid. Kool-Aid's terrible. But you got to make sure you have a good balance, and what college football actually had

[01:35:20] in the early stages of the playoffs, and I think the sweet spot for the playoff is really six to eight teams. I think once you get past six to eight teams, you're getting into a place where it's not at all about picking the true champion. It's about a TV show, and if you want to have a good TV show, I've heard Volani Jones make the point. If you want a good TV show, have the good TV show, but just adding more stuff, like, that's, it doesn't make the product better. And to your point about, like, the Sickos, right? So the Sickos are going to watch, right?

[01:35:49] The Sickos are going to watch regardless. So, like, you will watch James Madison versus Texas National Southern University of Ohio. You know what I mean? You would watch that game. But if they put that game during the playoff, we would all be like, this is a terrible, terrible, terrible idea. We, like, I think, I think if what you really, if you, what you really endeavor to do is to reward a

[01:36:19] team for having an amazing season and giving them a shot at winning a championship, eight teams max is what you need for a playoff. It's just, I just disagree with the argument that adding more teams is just a good move. Because when I said, hey, let's just put 120 teams out there, you're like, no, but that's more football. Yeah. Yeah, I agree. I agree. Adding a bunch of teams doesn't seem like a better solution at all.

[01:36:48] It kind of just, I feel like it takes away the whole, you know, like in college, people want to be undefeated because they want to get a chance to really get up there and get their rankings up. You know, I just feel like if you have an opportunity to get in there, it's kind of like the play-in. You know, like we're not really fighting for the playoffs anymore because I know that we can get a play-in tournament and we can still get in if we do the bare minimum. Right. Well, especially to the play-in

[01:37:17] point, that's where Adam Silver kind of lost me with the draft tanking fighting that he's trying to do to stop tanking because, you know, because you can have a play-in team get the best of both worlds. Because now, a play-in team could get the number one draft pick. You know, we saw Dallas do that a few years ago. But now that you're taking the ability of lowering the odds for the

[01:37:47] bottom three teams, now the play-in losers become eligible to get that number one draft pick. So what you're telling your fans is, hey, we made the playoffs this year. And we got the number one draft pick. Or, and we got a top five pick. So you can disguise your tanking and sell yourself to your fans as, we doing the damn thing. You know what I'm saying? But we also got this bonus too because we tanked in the play-in game. I would much

[01:38:16] rather a team make it, like, have a decent season and make it to the playoffs and then, quote-unquote, tank in the playoffs than for them to tank for 82 games a season. Well, you know, and that was the thing, right? Because this year, for example, this past season in the play-in, the Clippers, they got the Indiana pick by, I mean, I'm not saying they did it on purpose, but since they lost the play-in game, that was how they were able to get the Indiana Pacers pick because they would have been ineligible if they had won that game. You know what I mean?

[01:38:46] And the Blazers were in the same place, but the Blazers won, so it didn't matter. But to the college football point about being undefeated, all that kind of stuff, that's where the sport has kind of lost its identity because growing up, making the bowl game was the goal. You know, trying to make the best bowl game you possibly could. And the bowl game was amazing because we got matchups that we didn't typically see. You know what I mean? But then as time went on, you know,

[01:39:16] it made sense to have some form of playoff because you would have situations where the conferences or, yeah, the bowls were, they had agreements with certain conferences. Right. So you would have a team that's number one. 12, the Big 10, the Pac 12 team would play in the Rose Bowl. Right. Right. So you would have the big, so you would have the number one team possibly playing the number four, number five team in a bowl game. And then you would have number two

[01:39:46] playing like number six or nine depending on the conference agreement. Right. So it was like you were crowning a national champion, but number one and number two rarely ever played. They never played each other, which was always the issue. That was always the issue to me. Like it became for me, it went from that issue to, well, now we're going to pick the number one and two team and we're just going to have those two teams playing. right. That, that doesn't make sense either. Like. And that's why I brought up the Bama.

[01:40:16] That's why I brought up the Bama LSU thing because yes, they said that every week was a playoff. Yes. Alabama lost to LSU on their own home field. Yes. And then they got the rematch in the national title game. So if the playoff is every week, why is Bama in the national title game? They're already eliminated because they lost that home. Like a part of that is because LSU made it. So like you're making it against the team that already beat you. And, but and just to add to the point that

[01:40:46] you made earlier about sort of the, the, I think you made an excellent point about the fact that ESPN owns the playoff and that ESPN gets to make they get to drive the narrative surrounding who makes the playoff, which goes back to my favorite argument of all time is that preseason rankings are stupid because if you have a team that's ranked in the preseason and then falls all the way off the map, well, that team that got that win against them in the first week of the season still got a win against a ranked team. And they use

[01:41:15] that as a metric to say, oh, well, this team was really good because they beat X amount of ranked teams. well, a lot of teams that they were ranked, they were ranked the first two weeks because y'all ranked them in the preseason based on what they did last season. That makes no sense at all. Yeah, and you had scenarios where Alabama, for example, there was one year, I don't know if it was 2017, I believe it was the year that Tua won the national title. You know, at the end of that year, Alabama didn't win the SEC.

[01:41:46] So they threw Fresno State at, or it was either Fresno State or Colorado State, they threw them at number 25. So you could say like, oh, so Bama's got another ranked win. Yep, that's another one. And that's the problem is that they manipulate the rankings at the end to justify the result that they want. And that's why I brought up the Notre Dame-Miami thing from last year where all season long you had Notre Dame ahead of Miami neither one of them played and

[01:42:15] then you swapped them. And I think you got it right because Miami should have been ahead of Notre Dame with the head-to-head. So you got it right, but I still don't like it because what's the reason that you even switched them? Right, but see, but that never should happen in the first place. That never should have happened in the first place. And see, and this is the problem that I have, you know what I'm saying, because me, you, and Jack, we sit up here on Say Less, Say More, and we argue about these things, and you know, we have these conversations.

[01:42:46] So you mean to tell me that you have, like, I don't know how many writers there are, but I'm going to just throw out a number. You know, you got 1,500 writers, and like, all of them think Georgia number one? You know what I mean? And then when you get to the playoff, right, like, theoretically, the rankings should change every week to some degree, even if you're starting from zero every week. Right, because the way I think about it, right, let's say you're number eight, and then over here you

[01:43:15] got number 14. You both got the same record. You're both sitting at eight and one. Right. So number 14 goes out here and beats number seven, and then number eight beats an unranked team. Like, something to shift. If you're starting from zero, like they say they are, but they're not starting from zero because what they'll say is, well, we can't move them down because they were eight last week. Right, and you know, and that's where it's like each

[01:43:44] victory and loss is, you know, not equal. So, you know what I mean? So, hey, Boogie in the building. Hey, Boogie in the building? What up, hey, Boogie? You know what I'm So, you know what I'm saying? So, if you're sitting there looking at this, that's where you ask these questions, like, does my victory, so, like, for example, like, right now, okay. Yeah. Florida or Kentucky, I'll use Kentucky. Two weeks ago, Kentucky was number 25. They went to

[01:44:13] South Carolina, and this is obviously not the playoff rankings, but it's all the rankings that we got right now. And so, so they went into South Carolina, and they won in overtime. They fell out the top 25. They came back home and beat LSU this past week, and now they're number 15. So, like, two victories, one of them wasn't good enough to keep them in the top 25. Right.

[01:44:43] But the next one was good enough to jump them over 10 teams. Like, it just doesn't make sense. You know what I mean? So, so when we get to the playoffs, and that's my issue, is because that first college football playoff ranking is going to mirror the AP for the most part. You know what I mean? Like, there might be a team that's 22 and 23. They might be flipped in the playoff ranking, but it'll be the same teams. So, theoretically speaking, if I'm looking at metrics,

[01:45:13] strength of record, I'm looking at game performance, my top 25 should be different, because the AP people ain't looking at that. Right. It's true. You know what I mean? So, so that's why, like, my problem, I don't want the 2014 playoff. I'm not here for a 2014 playoff. I just think that the structure of the playoff is broken no matter how many teams you have. Oh, for sure. No, I would agree there. I would agree there.

[01:45:42] Like, and I also understand even the point that you're making about more, like, more football and people not actually, I actually thought it was a really good point that people don't really love college football the way they do. I think that you do have an extreme love for college football that not many people have, and I respect the net out of you for it. I also think it's mad weird. So, go team. But I'm going to make you the best sports fodder in the land. 300 pounds of sports knowledge. 300 pounds of sports knowledge. I was the only person I know outside of my dad that has a love for college football the way

[01:46:12] that they do. Because the conversation they had at Baylor, I was, I had no idea what they were talking about. I was lost. I was completely lost. Well, you know, like, in the NFL, right, just from a humanity, player safety standpoint, right, like, there shouldn't be 18 games. You know what I'm saying? But we know on that 18th game, week 19, the ratings are going to be through the roof. Oh, for sure. You know what I mean?

[01:46:41] And people, and I keep hearing people say, well, these college teams, right, you get to the end, if I know I got the number one seed, they're going to sit players. And it's like, yeah, and you still watch the Peyton Manning-less Colts. Yes, you do. Rest their players against a team. So, like, you know, I get it, right? Like, college football and the NFL have very different inroads that make them different sports, even though it's the

[01:47:10] same ball being thrown around. You know what I mean? But, like, at the same time, it's like, college football that people want, fell in love with, that shit died, like, 15 years ago. It's been like 15 years ago. That college football does not exist anymore. And, you know, and then, like I said, like, you know,

[01:47:39] with the college football part of this, it's like, well, I got a team here that has never been involved. You know what I'm saying? Like, they've never been on the brink of the playoff. They've never been in contention for a national title. So, now you've got more fans that are invested because their team actually has a chance to, even if they don't win, even if they don't win a playoff game, it's still a team. Hey, Riz, I think there's an echo on your end.

[01:48:10] Yeah, he's tracking. I saw him working to get rid of it. You know what I'm saying? But you know what I mean? But, like, these are teams that were never going to play for anything. You know what I mean? Because the bowl games have been eliminated by NIL in the NFL draft. You know what I mean? So, it's not as if by having this playoff, the Pop-Tart Bowl was going to be better. Right. So, the quality of football will be better

[01:48:38] in the playoff versus a traditional bowl game system. Yeah, I just don't want them to add more players. I think, like, because you're right, like, it's gotten to the point where, like, if they don't make the playoffs, they had a bad season now. Like, the other bowl games just don't matter. And it's destroyed the entire bowl system. So, I agree with you there. But you did mention earlier that I missed the Niner segment of the pod. So, I was hoping that you could sort of double back to that really quickly. So, I can hear sort of what your thoughts were. Since we don't really

[01:49:07] get to talk Niners and NFL football. If you've got a few more minutes, I know you'll be waiting to eat after the pod. If you've got a few minutes, I'd love to engage. No, I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. No, I was saying that, you know, we caught some heat because, you know, we asked the question, is the 49ers the best team in the league? And then... And then start talking on everything else. Yeah, because, you know, sometimes, you know, Mr. Logical throws me off and, you

[01:49:37] know, he'd be saying all the things. So, like... Yeah. Yeah. So, like, so sometimes, like, I get stuck because I'm like, well, I can't get deeper into this conversation because we already been talking about it for... Correct. ...x amount of time. Correct. But I was saying that, like, yes, the 49ers are the best team in the league. They are definitely the better team than the commanders. So, this week, theoretically, should not break a sweat. You know what I mean? But... You know what I'm saying?

[01:50:07] But what I was saying was, from the Washington side of things, this could be Custard's last stand. Where, you know, coming off that overtime game, the way that it ended, being talked about all week, is Dan Quinn losing his job? Is Dan Quinn losing his job? Mm-hmm. Ugh, thank you. Bless you. And Washington, at least for the first half, should come out with a lot of effort. You know what I mean? Mm-hmm.

[01:50:37] You know what I mean? Because they've been hearing all the noise. And when you got a guy like Jaden Daniels, you always have a chance because he's such a playmaker that keeps things alive. But the 49ers, for all intents and purposes, should win this game by double digits. You know, Brock Purdy is on the short list of MVPs right now. He is. You know what I mean? Now, I was questioning whether San Francisco's going to be able to run the ball as effectively on Washington,

[01:51:05] but how that doesn't matter because they got a guy named Mike Evans. And... We do. You know... Mike went up, Mike. The only Mike... Yeah, he might not, but, you know, but the only Mike that Washington has is Mike Sanistril, who should probably be updating his CFL resume. So what I'll say, Mike Evans may not play this week. He's been dealing with a rib... He's been dealing with ribs for like the last two or three weeks

[01:51:35] now. And then he had... I think he's got an Achilles issue as well this week, so they may sit him. Nick Bosa is back to practicing, but I don't think he plays. I am excited to see a Christian Kirk is practicing now. His practice window is open. We haven't seen him on the field yet. We brought in... Oh, who's the guy? Begins with a B. He scored a touchdown last week, I can tell you. Hold on a second. We brought in... What's the guy's name? Oh, my God.

[01:52:05] Sorry. Let's go down for the chart. He brought in a receiver. Oh, Brandon Cooks. Brandon Cooks. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Brandon Cooks? Yes. He's got Brandon Cooks since week two or three. Brandon Cooks, who, by the way, is on his seventh different team. Yeah, but you know what? What I can say is Brandon Cooks actually does go places, and he does make a difference. He shows up. But he makes a difference. So, Brandon Cooks, on that... So, people have been

[01:52:34] talking about that play where they... Where they... The Seahawks called a timeout right before we threw the touchdown. Like, that's why I come back to that game that people haven't had a whole lot of conversations about. But there's a lot to happen in that game. That was really interesting. One thing that happened was we had the ball, I think it was third down. I think it was third down, and we were in the red zone. Brock Purdy throws a laser, and they start waving their hands like, oh, oh. They called a timeout

[01:53:04] right before they snapped the ball. So, he had threw a laser to Brandon Cooks, scored a touchdown. Very next play, Brock Purdy throws a laser touchdown to Brandon Cooks. So, that says to me that Brandon Cooks and Brock Purdy are already locking in, which is great. You got Mike Evans, who's in his first year with Brock. We got Brandon Cooks, who's in his first year with Brock. Dijon Stribling, who's in his first year with Brock. Ricky Pearsall, of course, is hurt. Debo is hurt right now. But we're running with a patchwork offensive,

[01:53:34] without firepower in terms of the offensive weapons. But I think that the receivers are only going to get better this season. Like, they're only going to get better. We've been playing with a patchwork, but Dijon Stribling should be back by probably week seven, week eight. Christian Kirk is probably back, probably playing this week or next week. Mike Evans will be back full time, probably in a week or Friday. They might give him until the buy-off, because I think we got y'all, and then we have

[01:54:02] the, oh my gosh, there's another game that shouldn't be too crazy. We got y'all, and then we got Atlanta, and Atlanta. Then we have our buy-week. So, if we wanted to, we could keep Mike Evans out this week and next week, and I don't think it'd be crazy to think that we could probably win two games without Mike Evans, which gets us to the buy-week. We're going to give Mike Evans three weeks to go without anybody hitting him in his ribs,

[01:54:32] which would be great for us. Then we come back with Vegas. So, but I respect you, Coach, and get stronger. I respect it. I love my Niners. I just don't talk sports a whole lot. That's the thing. You don't care about any other teams as much. It's insane. I do not. Actually, like, normally it's just like, football happens. Football happens when Niners play. But when the Niners play, it's like, by the way. But wait, and Klon Black hasn't even had a breakout game yet.

[01:55:03] Like, they've had a game, like the first game of the season against the Rams, Klon Black had more carries than Christian McCaffrey had. And so they realized they can trust him handling the rock without fumbles and to get positive yardage. I want to say his yards per carry isn't bad at all either. But it's just Christian McCaffrey's Christian McCaffrey, so he's only going to get so many touches in a game. So I love what I'm seeing from our running back core. It's not as, it's not as, it's not as, as McCaffrey heavy as it normally is.

[01:55:33] McCaffrey hasn't had a hundred yard game all season. And we're 5-0. We haven't had a He hasn't needed to. He hasn't needed to. We, shoot, one game against Miami, Brock Purdy led us some rushing. Yeah, then they took that 50-yard rush away from him too. They took, and now the game they took the 40-yard rush away from him. So, yeah, I think, and our defense is nuts. I think after this season, I think Brock Purdy is going to, is

[01:56:02] going to be elevated to the top 10 amongst like ESPN and all the people that keep acting like they don't like this. If he keeps, if he keeps playing, if he keeps playing the way he's playing. Look at it. What? No, I'm just saying, if he keeps playing at the level that he's playing right now, like it's harder, like everybody that was big time, Brock Purdy, detractors, I won't say haters because I don't like the term haters, but the Brock Purdy detractors, the

[01:56:31] Cam Newtons, Cam Newton, shoot, Ryan Clark, even Nick Wright, Colin Coward, they've all come around like, oh dang, this dude's actually pretty good. So, so here's the question. Okay. What's, so what's worse? All right. The pain that Jalen Hurts is feeling right now or the pain that we feel when we watch Jalen Hurts. Hey, so 2-5, what's going on? As a friend, I want to know what's, what's going on?

[01:57:01] Like, how you feeling right now, man? How you, how you feeling? You got Giants blue on. You got Giants blue on. So I'm trying to figure out what. Kentucky blue. Kentucky blue on. Kentucky blue. Kentucky blue. It's blind. It's Giants blue. Hey, Jack, also, also a member of the Say Less, Say More podcast bought him the blue that he has on. Oh, okay. This is true. This is true. So y'all are ganging up on me. Okay, so different pie. I'm so, all right, so hold up. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Okay. All right, let me ask it in a different way. Let me ask it in a

[01:57:31] different way. Are the Eagles, are we at the point where we're going to see a tank? Or are they going to be able to keep it? Okay, so you want me to be completely honest? I'll be honest. Yes, that's what we want. It's a podcast. So in my, in my group chat, Eagle Nation, I want 100. I want nothing more than that. That sounds like a nightmare. I almost spit my tea everywhere. That sounds terrible. That sounds like a really bad idea.

[01:58:00] But sorry, Eagle Nation. We'll let you guys finish. Eagle Nation. Sorry, please tell us more about what they do with Eagle Nation. Because I'm sorry, I don't think anybody in this chat is having a meltdown of a team. So, you know, I think I deserve a little great. Hey, just get on with the story. Please tell us with Eagle Nation. So in my chat, last week I told everybody, buckle up. Eagle Nation. We haven't, we haven't had three losses in years. You know, years. We haven't had three, three losses in a row in years.

[01:58:30] So this season is about to be a, a, a dangerous one. Now, the, the, the thing is, you know, obviously we've been able to lean on, oh, we're hurt. We're hurt. We're hurt. But, even if we aren't fully, you know, staffed, the play calling is still the play calling. Right? So it's like, at this point, I'm, I'm team

[01:58:58] fire Nick Sirianni. I was, I was here last year. I was here last year. You know what I'm saying? When it was, uh, pass play, pass play, Saquon run, uh, kickoff. You know what I'm saying? Like, I was here last year. Tushpush been dead. But, but y'all still trying it last year. We tried it this year. Yeah, I saw. That was, that was not pretty. If, if Jason is not in, at the center, the tushpush is dead.

[01:59:28] But what I do seriously want to talk about is the blood clots. I think it's absolutely insane that Jalen Hurts was told and informed about these blood clots last week and they still let him play. I think it's insane that we're not taking something like, fly across the pond. Like, that's not cool, bro. Which is not good for blood clots. Because blood clots, that, that, that, that flows to his brain and it's, it's night, night forever. You know what I mean? Like, it's bigger than the game of football, but on top.

[01:59:58] They said it was superficial though. It's not like a full, like what Wimby had. But still, whether it's Chris Bosh or Wimby or whatever, the thing is, you know, they talk about, oh, Jalen's going to miss next week. Like, Jalen Hurts could end up being, being retired after this. That's what I'm thinking. I mean, oh, and I know that that's, that's, you know, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that's a very, very, very, very

[02:00:28] extra statement to make. But if this blood clots situation isn't, isn't solved soon, like, you know, he's going to sit for the rest of the season. You know what I mean? Then they just brought homeboy in, they just brought homeboy in from Dallas. Which, so that's cool, right? Because we got to play Dallas next week. So, it's cool if you can give us some Dallas insight. But, to me, that's, it, it looks kind of

[02:00:58] like a, a hard pivot. Because we already had Tanner and everybody on the, in the organization supported Tanner. Tanner, so we had a backup. So why are you bringing in this dude? Tanner can't run. You know what I mean? Tanner can't run to save his life. So I think, I think we're preparing for something that's going to, like, I'm actually really nervous that I just lost QB1. That's how I feel. Yeah. And I get it. It's hyperbole. I get it. But I feel like this is

[02:01:27] the beginning of the end. Well, I hope, I hope good things for Jalen Hurts. I like him. I think he's a good quarterback. I think he's intelligent. I think he's a great representative of young black men on a, on a major platform. And I always will root for that kid. Like, I just always will. Yeah, I mean. But Eagle Nation's a terrible group, Jack. Yeah. Well, everybody's in the Eagles. I don't know what you want from me. Just get, just get, just get out of there. Get out of that group. No, they're my friends. Do it. Do it. Get out.

[02:01:55] It's Casey, Travis, and me. Like, it's just. Then why? Then it's just the three, y'all. Y'all don't have to be Eagle Nation. It's the three. Y'all are friends. We're Eagle friends. Like, just imagine them literally, like, it's boring. Like, nobody said anything for, like, six hours, and then just somebody's just, like, go birds, and then. Go birds? Yeah. Play fly, eagle fly. Yeah. Yeah. Like, ah, ah. It's disgusting. They drop, they drop Eagles memes.

[02:02:24] They drop Eagles memes throughout the day. Like, yo, do you see this new Eagles meme that just came out? Anybody watching Sports Reports is ordered. If you're in a San Antonio nation, I mean, San Antonio area, and you're looking for a good place to watch football, feel free to pull up the Kings Tavern. I host the Eagles Ness there, and, you know, every Sunday, we watch good, family-friendly Eagles football. Yeah. It reminds me of Game when he was distant 50, and he's like, he the wrong

[02:02:54] one to help you with your rhymes. All he's going to do is tell you to say G-Unit one more time. You know what I'm saying? Just tell you to say go birds. Go birds. But as we look around, right? We're looking around. Give me a potential upset that you all see this week. I told you. I know, but they didn't see it. The American Say Less, Say More Oh, sorry. Say Less, Say More podcast. If you want these fire takes on a weekly basis, you got to check us out on Thursday nights.

[02:03:23] But I got the American football player, Cam Ward. When you look at Cameron Ward, in the dictionary, it'll say Cameron Ward, American football player. He don't want to rap. He don't want to write books. He don't want to podcast. He wants to play football terribly. He wants to play well. It's just happening terribly. And I just, I need my guy to turn it around. So Cam Ward's getting a win. Can we give that title to Bryce Young too?

[02:03:52] Bryce Young is, Bryce Young deserves some credit. Did he shut, did he shut Shador Sanders down when Shador was trying to get him to come rap with him? No, he didn't do that. All right. When Shador couldn't take it and had to go get some water? That's right. It was too hot. But no, I got the American football player this week. I got, that's who I got. All right. What about you, Jack? Is there an upset out there for you? He said the Eagles

[02:04:21] beating somebody. I did say the Eagles winning, but I feel like that's what I don't count. That's your team. Yeah. Who's Dallas playing? Packers. I got the, I got the Packers beating Dallas. That's not an upset. I mean, that's not in some of the, well, I guess I live in Texas, so it's different. That's a favorite. So like, technically that's not an upset. Yeah. Oh, my bad. So we got, so, so some potential candidates, you know.

[02:04:51] Actually, my, my upset, my upset would have been Broncos. That would have been my upset because I, I had to see how, I had to see how. Oh yeah. Hold on. Wait, you know what? This is a great, this is a great platform for this. Stand up for your boy Bo Nix. Go. It's Bo time, baby. Bo Nix. You know what I'm saying? He comes through when you need him to. And when he can't come through, the defense stands up. Okay, let's talk about, let's talk about Bo Nix coming through. And what Ryan Fitzpatrick said.

[02:05:21] That's not at all what Ryan Fitzpatrick said. Yo, Ryan Fitzpatrick was pissed. Ryan Fitzpatrick said that man was playing Goal. Ryan Fitzpatrick said that like he was a Hall of Fame quarterback. Ryan Fitzpatrick said that so he's a player in the wish of all time. So for me, I was pretty low on Bo Nix coming out of the draft. And the things that we're seeing right now is a part of why. You know what I'm Like Bo Nix to me is not a quarterback. He's a football player.

[02:05:50] So he's one of those guys that, you know, I think that he thrives in chaos. You know what I mean? But he can't do the simple things. And I think we saw that a lot during his college career where, you know, he would make this run. He would throw a Hail Mary. He would have this late game pass that you didn't even think he could make. But early in the second quarter, he won't take the check down, you know, that's there. Or, you know, say he's wildly

[02:06:18] inaccurate because he's always throwing off of the back foot or doing something crazy instead of just standing there and making the throw. So I think I'm seeing a lot of that play out in real time. And Denver can't run the ball, so that doesn't hurt either. I mean, that doesn't help either. Do you think Bo is the opposite of Kayla Williams, where, like, Kayla Williams shines all the time, especially when it's crunch time. Bo Nix doesn't shine until it's actually crunch time and he's absolutely needed?

[02:06:49] I think that Bo Nix is a good enough football player that if the defense gives him enough chances, he'll make a play. So it's like, and I don't want to be disrespectful. That's exactly it. No, that's exactly it. Well, I don't want to be disrespectful. So I'm about to say something, but I'm only saying it to make a point. I'm not calling Bo Nix this. But it's like when you were watching Tim Tebow. And, you know what I mean, like, the defense would just come out, shut everything down,

[02:07:19] you would punt, like, six times, get the ball back with about 50 seconds left, and he'll lead you into field goal range. Like, that's Bo Nix right now. You know what I mean? Like, when the other team does something stupid to give you the ball at 40. Yeah, or like, like last night, right? Sam Donald gave them the ball basically after 40. You know what I mean? Like, so it wasn't like, he only needed five yards because they're playing at mile high in the altitude.

[02:07:49] So you don't even need a 57-yard field goal to win the game? Something like that, yeah. Like, so like, that's what I'm saying. That's the type of stuff Tim Tebow would do where, you know, you'll get a turnover, don't mess it up and give the ball back, let's get out of here with the 60-yarder. Yo, the Seahawks had, the Seahawks had two, two interceptions, Sam Donald threw two interceptions, and Rasheed Shaheed fumbled once. So that's,

[02:08:19] fumbled two times, lost one of them. So that's three turnovers. Three turnovers. This man, Bo Nix, your guy, came out and was 17 for 27 for 107 yards. Okay, so Justin Fields like. Justin Fields like without the, without the, without the wheels. He doesn't have wheels.

[02:08:50] Bo could get around. Yeah, he can get around, but he ain't got the, he ain't got Justin Fields. Yeah, yeah, he ain't like that, but he can get around. This is my thing, right? I genuinely, I genuinely like the Denver Broncos. So, even though I'm, I'm an Eagles fan, like I genuinely. I think they're going to win the Super Bowl. Yeah, I wanted to, I really like the Broncos a lot, but, you know, Rez, you're not wrong. Like, it ain't been Bo time in a long time, bro. I'll give you that. Bo,

[02:09:20] Bo hasn't known Diddly. It's, it's been bad. It's been bad. It's been bad. So, you know, respectfully, Bo, I need you to check in. Well, let's, well, let's look at their, uh, next five games and y'all let me know what y'all think. I got, is Bo, is Bo better than Justin Herbert? They're beating the Cardinals. No. To the Chiefs, Panthers, Raiders, beat Steelers and Dolphins. Three and two.

[02:09:49] They don't lose to the Panthers. No, I don't think he's better than Justin Herbert. Like, at their best, I don't think he's better than Justin Herbert. Um, no, no, I'm just talking about, obviously, right now he is. He'll play. Yeah. Skill on skill, skill on skill, I trust Justin, I trust, um, Bo Nixman, I trust Justin Herbert. I don't trust Justin Herbert in a clutch. I have way too much evidence that that man does not know what to do when he needs to win a game. That's what I'm saying. Like, when we, I'm talking about like, just strictly eye test,

[02:10:19] not the body. Cause the body, we know Justin Herbert should be able to do everything, but he never does. I just don't know. I just don't know how to process that because like, when I look at the Chargers this year, as bad as Justin Herbert has been, the team is just bad. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, it's not just Justin Herbert. Like, he's the top. No, no, no, wait, no, you gotta remember. No, no, two five. Amazing team. He had a game. Two five.

[02:10:47] He had a game that his team got five turnovers. And they still lost by double digits. That's him. I know. That's what I said. Like he's at the top of it, but the team is just bad. Like he's bad. The team is bad too. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Bad too. Yeah, I'm with that. Whereas with Bo Nix, I think it's, I don't know if it's scheme. I don't know. Cause, cause you know,

[02:11:16] Sean Payton just started calling plays again. Yeah. You know, but like, I don't understand how you have a guy like Jaden Waddle, you know, on your roster and he should, he should make life easier for everybody. That was one of the reasons why I love him. Bo Nix should be able to just throw the ball in the air. Red Rover, Red Rover. Send Jalen right over. I ain't gonna lie though. I'll take Bo Nix. If we can.

[02:11:46] Send me Jalen. You get Bo Nix, I'll take Jalen Waddle. No, no, no, no. I'm not saying over Jalen, but I'm saying if Jalen's got to sit out, you know, no, no. Send us Jalen Waddle. No, no, no. You can have Bo Nix. Send us Jalen Waddle. Hey, I'll take Jalen Waddle. Y'all can have Dontavian Wicks. Bo Nix and Dontavian Wicks. Let that work. Well, I think that Denver, I think that Denver's defense is good enough to keep them afloat that,

[02:12:12] and Sean Payton is a good enough coach that eventually it will look semi-regular. I don't know if they'll ever get to the point of looking how they look last year, but I think that Sean Payton's a good enough coach that Denver will figure it out as the season goes on. I genuinely think that the Broncos are going to have a, I still think they're going to turn around and be really good. Like, I think, I don't know, man. It's like, it's the Bo thing, bro. Like, Bo Nix, he just,

[02:12:41] he just does stuff to get right. You know what I mean? Like, so with that thought in mind, who is your all's most disappointing team so far in this early season? Chargers. Don't say the Eagles, damn it. Is there an ESPN that I can say? Chargers. Let's ask my wife. Well, because you didn't have hopes for them, though. For the Chargers? Who's the most disappointing team this season? Do you know who the coach of the Chargers is? Oh,

[02:13:10] yes. Do you know who my favorite coaches of all time is? she said the Cowboys. Yes. You know he coaches the Chargers? Yes. So, yes, I had hope that when you put one of my favorite coaches of all time, the guy that took Alex Smith from being somebody that nobody considered to be anywhere near good to being a borderline pro, Bowler,

[02:13:38] to coaching Colin Kaepernick and making him what he was, even though he could only read half the field, and then decided more to be a martyr than to be a great football player. Yeah, him. That guy that took J.J. McCarthy, and J.J. McCarthy, who I still think is a bum, went out in the national championship game and threw seven passes. Him? Yes. When you put him with the guy that everybody's been telling me is a top 10 quarterback since he got drafted,

[02:14:07] top five at some point in the conversation. I'm glad to give up on that. Yeah, I thought they would be much better than 0-5. Okay. Jack? He said Eagles. Yeah, I said the Eagles, and then I asked Ariel. Ariel said the Cowboys, but she just hates the Cowboys. Go away. Cowboys, Cowboys don't be terrible. I feel like this. No, the Cowboys. Oh, she said her Packers.

[02:14:38] Well, I can understand that, but I wasn't very high on the Packers coming into the year anyway. You know what I'm saying? But I can, I can understand the thought behind it, but I just don't like when people pick their own teams. Well, you know what I'm saying? Like show some range. Okay. You want me to show range? The, the team that's disappointed me the most this year, if I'm showing range, Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I expected Tampa Bay to come out here and swing. I could have swore you were going to say the Rams. No, no, no. I think,

[02:15:08] I think the Rams are a great team. I think the Rams are just running to random obstacles that really ain't their fault, but I still think the Rams are, I still think the Rams are the best team in the NFT. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Oh, Travis coming? It's been a while since we brought Niner Bear out. Later, but, um, Oh, Josh Allen. So, so, so there's,

[02:15:37] there's this team that played the Rams and the Rams scored seven points against them. Look at where, there's this team that played the Rams, your best team in the NFL, NFC. And they put up seven points. against them. I don't know if you heard of this team.

[02:16:06] I don't know if you heard of this team. I don't know if you heard of this team that, that, that played the Rams. And then after beating the Rams, went on and beat the Super Bowl champions. And beat the Broncos. This is not a disrespectful thing. That team is five and oh right now. We said, we said, who's the most disappointing team? All I'm saying is the team that y'all happen to be. Happen? Should be,

[02:16:35] should be the number one team in the NFL right now. I think my answer is the Houston Texans. Oh, I would agree. I would agree. That was my backup. That was my number two behind the chart. Because, because I legit thought that their defense was good enough to be a potential AFC championship game team. Not quite Super Bowl, but just right on the brink of. And I thought that David Montgomery would change the fortune of their run game.

[02:17:04] Oh yeah. But it doesn't matter if you still can't block. I feel a lot too far. That's, that's, that's, that's not something I expected you to say. I don't, I feel like CJ Stroud has shown us that he's, he's not who we thought he was. He's another Ohio State guy. I don't think that's true. He's another Ohio State guy. I don't think that's true. I think, no, I think, no,

[02:17:28] I think that CJ Stroud is traumatized because he gets beat up so much. You know what I mean? And this year so far, and this year so far, he's actually having a pretty damn good season. They're just not winning games because the defense hasn't been as good as it usually is. Like last year, they were number two or number three in total defense. And I mean, and I know, and I know this is like first world problems, but they're number 11 this year in total defense. So, you know what I mean? Like that's a big gap,

[02:17:58] you know, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, figure it out.

[02:18:24] whether they're dead, half dead, fully alive, you know, ACLs, hamstrings. It don't matter. The electromagnetic field that's right next to the practice facility, that should not be there because people are dying. People are dying. The San Francisco 49ers are doing things that I just didn't expect. I thought last year you guys did it, and it was like, okay, that's really dope. But to do it again, and watching Devo die on the field, it's like, damn,

[02:18:53] I'm like, they still figure it out every time. And Devo's playing this week, by the way. He's playing on my day. Okay. Well, did he ever get hurt, or did he just pass out on the field? I thought it was a hamstring. It was a hamstring. It was a hamstring. He just, like. They hit him with the thoroughbred. Let me look. Let me see. So the team that people say. You know who my most shocking team is? Cleveland. That's a good one. That makes a lot of sense.

[02:19:22] Cleveland is my most shocking team. I broke that up earlier, too, as the Browns quarterback, Deshaun Watson, 2-0 against the Ravens. Yes, it is. Yo, Deshaun Watson came back and showed everybody. Like, hold up. Deshaun. Deshaun Watson. I don't know who Deshaun is, but Deshaun Watson came back. Deshaun Watson, man. Y'all forgot who I was. Let me remind you. And then I think my second most shocking team would be the Carolina Panthers. I think the Carolina Panthers have really turned a corner.

[02:19:52] That's a good one. We're going to. We're going to. Yeah, Bryce Young is out here throwing for 300 yards. He really is. But I would tell you. I like Bryce Young, though. There was this game where he was playing like trash. And they were down. And I remember him sprinting to the tunnel to welcome the team as they went. And like, hey, guys, we're going to turn it around. We're going to turn it around, guys. I love that.

[02:20:19] I will root for that kid every single time. Because there's nothing worse than this new age athlete that can't take failure. As soon as they get down, they start hanging their head. They quitting. Oh, I'm trying to find my way to another team. That guy, Bryce Young, I'm a fan, dog. I'm a fan. Shout out. Shout out to the Panthers. AJ Brown. Oh, snap. Yeah. Navy and UTSA on ESPNU tomorrow. Stand up.

[02:20:49] Stand up. Are you watching the game? Hey, you know somebody going to that game too fast? I think we are going to that game. Oh, we're going. We're going to that game. So, for me, my most surprising team, and it was a tough choice, you know, between teams to get to where I ended up. So, I'll just say both of them. So, I'll start lesser and then work my way up to the number one. So, Jacksonville.

[02:21:20] You know what I mean? I mean, I was low on Jacksonville because I hate when teams have a season like they had last year. And I felt like they didn't add anything of substance. You know, like they lost David Lloyd. And, you know, he went to Carolina. Well, I'm just talking about, like, coming into this year. No, it is. Travis Etienne went left after last year. Oh, I'm sorry. I was thinking Travis Hunter. Yeah, I was thinking Travis Hunter. Where do you go?

[02:21:50] He went to New Orleans. Jesus. But, yeah, he – so, I thought that losing him was going to hurt. You know, Devin Lloyd was going to hurt because their defense was very opportunistic last year. But this year their defense is actually playing good defense without necessarily relying on being opportunistic.

[02:22:13] So, they didn't come out the gate shocking me this year as far as – now, I still don't know if I fully buy them as, like, a Super Bowl contender or – But I don't know if I'm fully there yet. No. You know, Jacksonville is definitely a Super Bowl contender, bro. We got to give him that. You got to give him – no, you got to give him that. I ain't got to do nothing. See, I don't say that.

[02:22:39] I didn't have – I didn't have – I didn't have – I didn't have Jacksonville on my shocker list, on my surprising list, because I thought Jacksonville would be good this year. Yeah, and then number one, I'm afraid to admit that I left Kansas City for dead. That makes sense, though. That's not a bad thing. But, you know what I mean? Like, they had lost – they lost McDuffie and Watson. They lost Leo Chanel. You know, obviously, I thought the offense would be a little bit better since they brought in Kenneth Walker.

[02:23:08] But I thought – but I thought an average defense would be even worse. You know what I mean? So that's where I thought Kansas City was probably going to go 8-9 or 9-8, be in that range. But, yeah, I mean, they could be – they could end up being the class of the AFC. They could. Can Kenneth Walker – can Kenneth Walker get that MVP? No. No? No, I think we're – He'll need to get somewhere near 2,000.

[02:23:38] Yeah, I think we're at a point where for a running back to get the MVP, you're going to have to do something Herculean. You know what I mean? Like, they're literally going to have to get to the red zone, and he's going to have to score every touchdown. Oh, man. Like, I think that's where we are because, I mean, think about it. You know, Saquon ran for 2,000. Derek Henry ran for 1,900 in the same year. And it was like – Yeah. And you know Saquon – you know there's a rumor going around that Saquon's on the trade block.

[02:24:09] It wouldn't surprise me, especially now with the Jalen news. It wouldn't surprise me because, I mean – Are you saying we're going in the – If Aylen Hurst doesn't come back, are we rebuilding? I think you have to. You don't understand that's Devontae Smith? I think you have to. No, you keep it Devontae. No, no. I wouldn't – I would – honestly, because I like Devontae so much, I would like to see him go to a team that contends.

[02:24:33] Like, if we do – if we go into a rebuild mode, I wouldn't hate Devontae Smith being traded. Only because, like, I don't like watching people – I don't like watching stars just die. Like, oh, I'm just here. You know, but there's no potential. I wouldn't be mad at that. No. This is a deep quarterback class coming out. So, like, depending on what happens with Jalen, you know what I mean?

[02:24:58] If it's something more on the negative side, which we hope it's not, you know, this would be probably the year to do that. So, let's see. As far as the quarterbacks that are coming out. Kenneth Walker is averaging 134.3 yards a game. Okay. Uh-oh, we about to do the pace? Yeah. We're doing pace. So, if he stays on pace, he gets 2,400 yards.

[02:25:29] MVP? If he gets 2,400 yards, he's the MVP. He's the MVP. I mean, especially considering the fact – Is anybody going to stop him? Do y'all possibly see? I mean, Denver would be the only, you know what I'm saying, team that – but we already saw them run all over Denver. So, you know – So, let me – I want to see something else. Let me see how many – But they got Tyquan Thornton out. You know, Rasheed Rice is out this week.

[02:25:59] You know what I mean? So, it's not – so, like, Patrick Mahomes, like, that weaponry is – Oh, they're playing – Oh, they're playing – Wait, they have Rasheed Rice. Oh, Rasheed Rice. I'm thinking Rasheed Shaheed. My bad. My bad. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, he's projected – he's projected right now at 2,200 yards rushing. So, MVP. That would be amazing. Gotta get it. Yeah.

[02:26:20] I would say if he got 19-80, the Chiefs are 13-4, I think he has a real shot. Okay. Unless – Unless this guy playing in the Bay goes 14-3. Stop. 14-3.

[02:26:49] I'm being – I think I'm being conservative, honestly. 14-3. Because you gotta remember. So, no, I am being conservative because you gotta remember, right? How many – so, let's think back. How many wins did I have the Niners getting this year? I said no less than 12 wins this year. That's true. I said that. And I had us losing two of our first five games. I had us losing to the Rams in Australia. And I had us losing to the Seahawks. I mean, I think I might have had them losing to Seahawks, Broncos, and the Rams coming into the season.

[02:27:19] I just want y'all to see. When I said that the Rams were supposed to be the gods of the NFC, even Rams recognized that the Rams were supposed to be good. So, don't do that. That was my – no, but that was my point the entire offseason is that they anointed them as the World Champions. And I said that they should just go ahead and sew the trophy, like go ahead and get the tattoos. I said this coming into the season. But I'm saying in the first five games, I had us two and three after the first five games. And I still thought we weren't going to lose any more than five games.

[02:27:48] So, if we already won three of the two – three of the games that I thought we were going to lose, 14-3 ain't out of the realm of possibility. Yeah, I don't know if Washington is going to get to where I had them because I had them at 6-11. So, I don't even know if we're going to get there. I think if y'all – if J.D. 5 is on Washington, I don't think y'all lose. I mean, outside of the blunder, which just – give me 10 seconds here.

[02:28:17] Cowboy fans, please stop. Let's not forget that San Francisco had Dak Prescott do the same exact thing that J.D. 5 did in the playoffs. Dak Prescott fumbling around and then game over. It's true. So, just hold on. Actually, Dak has done that multiple times. But that's a big deal. Yeah, that's a very big deal. Playoff game, you're right there. Dak Prescott was year eight, year seven or eight at that point. And he – don't know what that was. Okay.

[02:28:47] So, here's the projection. Just to do the comparison because we did the projection for Walker, right? And Brock Purdy goes 14-3, has 4,066 yards passing with 44 touchdowns and seven interceptions. 4,600 passing? Yeah, he'll get it. Yeah, he'll get it. 4,066. I think he'll eclipse that.

[02:29:11] The problem that I think I have is I don't know if I see him getting through a season with only seven interceptions. He's going to have a game – he's going to have one game that he's going to have like two or three interceptions. He's going to have one of those. He's going to have one of those. I think that he's – I think Brock personally, I think that the growth that he's had, I don't think he'll have two or three. Oh, then Jack, if he doesn't have a three interception game this season, he's the MVP.

[02:29:39] I think he will have a three interception game. Like, he'd be throwing some – he'd be throwing some stuff in danger. Hey, let's just do a – let's do a sideline say less, say more bet then. Let's do a $5 bet that Brock Purdy stays under a three interception game. All right. I like it. I think everybody can afford $5. But I actually – we meet each time – we meet every time? Yeah, for the rest of the season, each game.

[02:30:07] I don't think he'll have a three-game interception going forward. No, so what's the bet? Because I also – like, I'm a Brock Purdy fan. I'm the biggest Brock Purdy fan on this spot. Okay, so then I guess me and you would get $5 from me. $5 from me. And then $2.5, we'd get $5 from us. And if he has a three-point interception game, even though I think – I think he's going to have a three-interception game. I just have watched Brock Purdy enough to know there will be a game – because where Brock Purdy gets in trouble, right? There's two times that Brock Purdy gets in trouble.

[02:30:33] One, he gets in trouble if they can get extreme pressure up the middle and he can't see. So if he can't see and he's getting hit a lot, that's why the Seahawks game was troublesome because they were getting the pressure up the middle and he couldn't see the first three quarters of the game. Somehow he decided to protect him. How many picks did he throw? One. So either you on the three or you on the zero or three less.

[02:31:02] No, I think he's going to have one. I think he's going to have one three-interception game. So then I owe you $2.55 if he throws three. That works. And then the other way he gets in trouble is when – because y'all talked about like Brock Purdy, you know, navigating – like our team being there to navigate the injuries. Well, last year we played most of the season with our third through whatever string receivers because there was no Brandon Aiyuk and there was no Ricky Pearsall.

[02:31:31] Wasn't that line trash too? And that line was trash. He was getting beat up last year. Because I remember you getting excited when you were like, yo, something, something's back. Yes, Dominic Pudi came back. Like our line now – that game in the Seahawks is the first game we gave up a sack all season. So like if they're going to protect him like that and the receivers are going to – oh, that's the second point I was making. Sorry, I'm going to get off Brock Purdy. But when we have backup receivers in,

[02:32:00] they don't know the routes in the plays as well as Brock does. Brock is an anticipatory thrower. He knows the route tree beginning to end. He knows where everybody's supposed to be on the field. And he throws the ball to where you're supposed to be on the field. And when receivers come in, usually backup receivers who don't run good routes and don't know where they're supposed to be on the field because they don't expect to be playing, that's where interception's coming to play. The one we got against Seattle, that's where interception came to play.

[02:32:29] Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. You got the sync? You got the sync? You got the rap? What do you know? No. So who – so as you're looking – oh, actually, no, let me back up for a second. Talk to me more about this Green Bay-Dallas game, Sunday Night Football. Let's do it. Talk to me about that a little bit more. Hey, what's going on? It has been a minute. I thought you gave up on me, man.

[02:32:59] What I'm going to say is – Am I still number one in the chat? I say this – I say this as a pure Dallas Cowboy hater. Fully embracing, man. The purest. I say pure. I hope that you guys die the same way that the Bears died last week when they were supposed to have that whole Mike Dicker died and we're going to stand up and do something. Hey, I picked Green Bay last week. I hope Dallas –

[02:33:28] I hope Dallas goes to – wait, where is it? Is it in Jerry World? It's in Lambo. I hope the frozen tundra comes and just – I hope it knocks him on the ass. Sorry for cussing too far, but I hope it knocks him on the ass. Okay, that's what you hope, but what do you think is actually going to happen? I think that Micah Parsons has a revenge game. I think that Jordan Love – I don't think he's playing. Again? Yeah. What's wrong with him?

[02:33:56] Oh, my God. Micah Parsons is a podcaster. Yeah, he's not playing. Micah Parsons is a podcaster, dog. Yo, we're like, why are you in the league? But – Well, he tore his ACL. Micah Parsons. Some of the agents you said Russell Westbrook. And he tore in December. Every San Francisco player. Micah Parsons is a podcaster and has been a podcaster since he was in Dallas. Well, I –

[02:34:24] You know, the game against Dallas last year was the tie. I think we see Jordan Love throw for 350-plus against Dallas. I would not be surprised by that. The only problem is that I think Dak might throw for 350 against Green Bay. Mm-mm. And I think Dallas has been running the ball a lot better than I expected them to be able to run the ball this season too.

[02:34:49] So, I think that they have a more likely chance to achieve balance that Green Bay won't get to. I do think that Dallas has to win this game. Like, sometimes when you're looking at the NFL, you have to win because you won. They already lost to the Giants and you got to keep pace with them. Now you got Philly in a world of hurt. You know, Washington, we're going to find out if they gave up.

[02:35:18] So, you know what I mean? Yeah. Well, I'll say this. Anybody – Yeah, he's all over that, right? Anybody watching this podcast, whether it's live or you catch it two days from now, at DJ underscore Radical Jack, I got $25 on the Green Bay Packers. All you got to do is message me. Oh, dip. Oh, dip. Oh, dip. Look at that. Open that. Where is Cowboy Nation?

[02:35:48] Open that. Yeah, where is Cowboy Nation at? Yeah, where is Dallas Mike at? We got a debate that need to be had, right? Hey, hey. Open that to the nation. How about that? That was it. $25. Green Bay. You know what I mean? But, yeah, no, as I look around, man, you know what I mean? The – you know, let's talk a little bit before we get out of here. Let's talk some NBA real quick. LeBron James. LeBron James.

[02:36:18] All the time has slapped the hell out of you. Slap the hell out of you. LeBron James, mister – my athleticism has carried my entire career. Father time is here to show everybody you have no bag. You have no jump shot. You have no footwork. I know Rez is part of the LeBron James stand club, but I'm so happy to watch the Philadelphia 70s. It's crazy because I haven't mentioned LeBron James.

[02:36:43] So, are we buying Philadelphia as a contender to win the NBA title? Nope. Philly? Unless Jalen Brown carries the team by himself? Hell no. Joel Embiid will die in about 37 games. I think Oklahoma City is going to win the championship. No, I know, but do you consider him to be a contender, though? Yeah, Jalen Brown. They're a contender. Jalen Brown carries the team? Yes.

[02:37:13] But if it's on LeBron and Embiid's back, LeBron's out. If by contender you mean top three in the East, yes. By contender – yes, that's what I mean. Top three in the East is a good indicator. Yes. But I got OKC winning the championship. Ooh, revenge tour. Ooh. Ooh. And it starts with OKC on Tuesday. Yo, if they're going to start – is De'Aaron Fox still in San Antonio? He is. Yes. Oh, then no. Sorry. No.

[02:37:42] I don't know if Dylan Harper's girlfriend is. Oh, okay. Well. No. Yo, De'Aaron Fox. If De'Aaron Fox is still in San Antonio, fold that up. No, no, no, no. Because OKC is not allowing that to happen again. OKC will not allow it to happen again. Well, I think the thing that the Spurs fans missed last year is Oklahoma City was without their second best player for most of that series. Yes, they were. You know what I mean?

[02:38:10] They were without their point guard for at least four games of that series. Yes, they were. Which forced SGA to kind of be Mr. Everything, set it all up, XYZ. Wasn't SGA getting damn near triple-doubles too? Not really. You know what I mean? SGA is not a forcer of the action. SGA likes to play in the flow. I just remember Game 7, SGA showed everybody like this. Hey, I'm trying to tell y'all you better get on that Superbox or something or, you know, get that fire stick going.

[02:38:40] You know what I'm saying? But no, I think that everything created equal. I think OKC wins that series in six last year. You know what I mean? But injuries are a part of the game. I'm not going to use it as an excuse or, you know, whatever, but it's just a fact. You know what I mean? As far as the injuries that occur.

[02:39:05] So, I think that if they just have a functional J-dub even, you know what I mean? I think OKC wins that series and I think they beat the Knicks too. Yeah, I agree. I think that I'm going to declare that I am a San Antonio Spurs fan right now. And I think that... I feel like you've done this mad time already. Which you should have been anyway. No one thinks you're... I don't think anyone actually thinks you're a Lakers fan. I was a Lakers fan, but the Buss family left the Lakers.

[02:39:35] And it's time for me to move on. Oh, that's your excuse? Time for me to move on, bro. The Buss is left, bro. The Buss left. So, what are we thinking about the Timberwolves? Shout out to my boy Ant Edwards for being the greatest promo guy since the WWE. And the Timberwolves are going to sell tickets and they're must-see TV if nothing else. And LaMelo Ball... Absolutely sell tickets.

[02:40:02] The Timberwolves will have some of the most entertaining basketball we see to see. And I think that everybody's banking on Ant and Melo not getting along. I think this is going to be a tandem that everybody's not ready for. I think they'll get along. I think they're just going to shoot the team out the game most of the time. I see the totally opposite. Because Ant can defer to Melo now. Ant never had nobody to really defer to.

[02:40:32] Now he can be like, you know, alright, bet. Here, you get it. Alright, now you're back to me. Well, that's provided that Melo's not on the injury list. He won't be. Bank on it, buddy. No, Portland will not be better. I think... Better than who? Than they were last year. I think... Better than the Timberwolves. No, I think Portland is going to be what they are. Like, I think that Dame Lillard, you know, obviously is back. But he's another year older.

[02:41:02] And didn't play at all last year. John Morant is going to have to... Yeah. He had got hurt the year before in the playoff. John Morant is still trying to... I think he's still trying to find his footing. You know, I think it's a good move because it gets him away from the distractions that were in Memphis. He ain't going to be doing none of that shit in Portland. But... You said he did about the Jail Blazers? No fun basketball games. No fun basketball games.

[02:41:30] Actually, now that we're talking about Portland, you know, I had a crazy thought today. What was it? Say it. It's your podcast. So, you know, I had sent a thing to y'all saying that Adam Silver is trying to... It sounds like he's trying to play hardball with Seattle to get more money on the bid for the expansion team. I feel that. And using Mexico City as leverage. So, I was trying to connect dots.

[02:41:59] And there's been talk that Portland could be... Their owner could eventually move them. So, could there be a play? No. To Seattle. Could there be a play? Yes. Where they go up the road to Seattle and Adam Silver gets his international expansion team that he's been wanting. I don't like that at all. I mean, it could happen for sure. But I hate that because you're not getting Seattle's history now.

[02:42:28] Now it's going to be the Portland Trailblazers history. Yo, if that happens, dog, I will officially join Jack's fire Adam Silver campaign. Thank you. Well, you know he was trying to get those European teams and that didn't work out. Adam Silver, I don't know what you're trying to do, bro, but like, stop. He's trying to take advantage of the globalization of basketball. Yes. That's actually where I was trying to go with it. It's like, what has the globalization of basketball done for basketball?

[02:42:58] Minimize black players to try to uplift these European players? Well, I think it's contributed to a lot of the basketball that we complain about. That too? Soft basketball? All the big three-point shooters and that type of thing. Like, you know, I mean, I put it like this.

[02:43:21] Like, as negative as people think that it could be, we did get Luca and Joker out of it. You know what I mean? And he's one of them. Is that saying anything? Are we proud of this? Well, no, I think it does. I think it says a lot. Like, because, like, I think the game, each sport goes through some sort of transition slash evolution. And you know what I mean?

[02:43:48] And I think that Jokic is one of those players at the forefront of the expansion or the evolution of the NBA. You know, from the standpoint. Because, like, he's basically seven-foot Magic Johnson. Let me ask you this. Let me ask M-Dub and not 2-5. Oh, M-Dub. That's you, Mike.

[02:44:16] So, Luca Doncic. Luca Doncic. Three is up, three is down. Luca Doncic is somebody. You want to build a team around? For the game of basketball. Take the NBA away. Take the NBA away. Take the accolades away. Take all of that away. Do I like the team?

[02:44:44] You want to start a basketball team and build around Luca. Yes. Do I like the players play on the team? We categorically disagree. Well, we've seen him take two different versions of a franchise to places that people that you would probably take over him haven't. You know what I mean? Say more. Say more. Say more.

[02:45:11] So, back in 2022, he took the Mavericks to the Western Conference Finals. You know, that was pre-Kyrie. That was Jalen Brunson coming off the bench. You know, with Reggie Bullock in the starting lineup. You know, with Christoph Porzingis and him not even playing well together or getting along. And then he came back and took another version of the Mavericks to the NBA Finals.

[02:45:44] Okay. You know what I mean? So, like, my knock on Luca, ironically, is the same thing that Nico was talking about. Like, can I trust him to stay in shape and, you know, be engaged and play defense to where, as the leader of the team, you're setting a tone? That's my criticism of Luca. But I can't argue with the results.

[02:46:09] And any other year, like last year, either last year or the year before, any other year, he's the MVP of the league. That's true. He averaged like 33 and 10. You know what I mean? I don't have a real rebuttal outside of me personally, just me. I don't like non-defensive players.

[02:46:37] Well, I think Luca is better on defense than he gets credit for. I think that when we have conversations, not us, but just the public in general, I think once we put a label on somebody, we don't adjust. Yep, we do not adjust. That's the Aaron Rodgers conversation. You know what I mean?

[02:46:59] It's like once you made up your mind that this person was this, you won't allow him in your mind to become that. Yep, because you're too busy trying to justify your original opinion on that person. I take what you say, and I'm going to watch him this year because I'm going to need to look at the show that he played. He's on your team. No, he's not. I'm a Spurs fan. I've declared it. Where's your hat? Where's your Spurs hat?

[02:47:23] The problem that I have with Luca is just the whole bitching at the refs all the time and all that kind of stuff, but that just comes with being a European player, I think. I think he comes with being a superstar these days. The superstars these days, that's like their calling card. It's the LeBron effect. Yeah. 90% of the league would take Luca right now. That doesn't mean that Luca. That doesn't mean anything.

[02:47:49] See, and that logic does not work because, okay, they'll take them on their team. Sure. Right? They'll take them on their team. But what would that team do? Exactly. That's my point. To me, so, incredible. To me, what you just said is Lil Uzi Vert is a great rapper because he sells. It doesn't matter if he's lyrically great or anything like that. Or, no, what he said was. Because he sells records. No, what he said was. I think that ignores the results that I brought up.

[02:48:19] No, but so, to a degree. To a degree. Because those teams that were around Luca were good teams. Those weren't bad teams. Like, we've seen what Jalen Brunson became. Just because Jalen Brunson didn't have the time to do what he's done with the Knicks, he was still Jalen Brunson. No, I'm not saying that. But there were still other players on the team besides him. Yeah. Jalen Brunson. Okay, Jalen Brunson. Who else? Hold on. I'm about to pull it up now. That was not a bad roster that made those finals.

[02:48:49] No, it's not a bad roster. But it's not a roster that you look at and go, that's a Western Conference final team. I don't know, 2-5. Especially when you talk about, what's the word I'm looking for? We always talk about how the West is this bloodbath. It is. Yearly. You know what I mean? Like, all right, so hold on. Give me a second. I'm about to pull this up now.

[02:49:19] Maybe. I don't know, Rez. Maybe not this year. The West might have took a backseat this year. Well, yeah, they did. They all follow LeBron to the East. All right. Let's look at this. Uh-oh. We got screens. Uh-oh. We got charts, y'all. Hey, we broke up the charts, y'all. Hey, budget up. Budget up. Come on, y'all. So, look at this. All right. Let's look at this. Moses Brown in the house.

[02:49:50] Davis Bertons. Charlie Brown. I have no idea who Charlie Brown is. Yo, yo, like a real Charlie Brown. Charlie Brown. Sterling Brown. Jalen Brunson. Skip past those guys. Reggie Bost. Reggie Bost. Okay. Reggie Bost in the starting lineup. Trey Burton. Willie Colley Stein was on that team. Marquise Chris. Spencer Dinwiddie. No, this team was not. This is not a good team. Dorian Finney-Smith. Get to the good names. Tim Hardaway Jr. This is not a good team.

[02:50:20] Get to the good names. All right. Here we go. Here we go. Isaiah Thomas. Like little IT? IT. IT. Cripp Stops. Mike Silatina. No. Chris Stops. Boban. Boban was on that team. The Unicorn. Max Kleber. Max Kleber. He's balling at you. Tim Hardaway Jr. Bro. That is not. No. You're right. No. You're right. 2-5. 2-5. You win.

[02:50:50] 2-5. You win. You win 2-5. But if you were born. If you were born between December. It is. December and February. It looked like you can go to the NBA. All right. So hold on. Let's. Let's go to the team. Let's go to the. Let's look at the team that actually made the finals. That year? No. They made. That team made the Western Conference Finals. Let's. Let's look at the Luka team that actually went to the finals in Boston. To the Celtics.

[02:51:20] As soon as I get these pop-ups to stop popping up. Cheese and crackers, man. We. They really want you to watch this Philly. They really want you to watch the Philly. They. They really want you to watch this. Sixers game. The Philly and Boston game. Jesus. Let's try this again. Let's. Let's hit. Let's hit some refresh on this. Here we go. All right. So this is 2023-24 now. All right. Somebody named Greg Brown. There's that game again, y'all. Bruh. All right. Hold on. Let me go to a different site. Because this is. Why is Embiid still in the game?

[02:51:52] This is some BS. Isn't it the preseason? No. This is the real season. Oh. This is. No. This is the preseason. That's on Tuesday. Oh. Why is Embiid still in the game? Because he needs. He needs reps. Because he ain't going to be there for 30 games. That's crazy, dog. Get that man out of here. Hashtag take away his MVP. All right. Here we go. That's crazy. That is a crazy hat back. All right. Here you go.

[02:52:21] So this is the team that actually made the finals. Greg Brown. Dante Exum. What is this? What is that? Alex Fudge, y'all. They just making people up, dog. These are not real people that are playing against. Daniel Gafford is not a real person. No. Gafford is definitely a real person. And Gafford is a bad person. What is El Dorado? Josh Green. Josh Green is a bad. Tim Hardaway. Jim Hardaway. Jayden Hardy. Kyrie. Derek Jones. Maxi Cleaver.

[02:52:51] Maxi Cleaver. Derek White. Street Fighter. Dwight Powell. Dwight Powell. P.J. Washington. P.J. A.J. Lee. Brent A. Neither one of those teams should have made it as far as they did. Oh, P.J. Dirt Lively. Neither one of those teams should have made it as far as they did. Okay. That's a Kyrie effect to me. You win, man. You win. Yeah.

[02:53:19] I would give you that if Luka didn't take the other team. That's true. That's true. You know what I mean? And don't forget. Don't forget. They beat the Timberwolves. On that run, they beat OKC. Yeah. Yeah. That was the series. Remember, that was the series where Luka hit the shot over Gobert. Luka's like that, yo. Luka's like that offensively.

[02:53:47] Don't let my words confuse the thing, right? Not saying Luka's not like that offensively. I'm just saying he don't play defense, and that bothers me. Like I said, I think he plays defense a little better. Like, does he play it consistently? I can't go that far. But I think that he plays it a little better. He's not Steve Nash out there. He's James Harden 2.0 then. If what I'm hearing you say is the truth, then he's James Harden 2.0. You can be a defensive juggernaut, but you choose not to.

[02:54:17] I could live with that. I don't think James Harden could be a defensive juggernaut. No. I've seen James Harden. James Harden on OKC was a defensive player. I've seen James Harden give defensive effort. He just doesn't because he couldn't. Like, so that's the difference between him and Luka. Because Luka had Kyrie to kind of share a responsibility, and Jalen Brunson that he could share a responsibility with. Like, until Chris Paul got there, it was all James Harden.

[02:54:46] Like, legit. Like, James Harden had to score 40. You know what I'm saying? For the Rockets to beat good teams back then. Right. OK. You know what I mean? And I think bad habits just form because, you know, he had to put up the points to keep them in the game, so I can't spend my time chasing somebody around because if I don't score, we lose. I don't think Maxie Cleaver appreciates the way we were talking about it on this podcast.

[02:55:16] You know what I'm saying? So, yeah. So that's why I think that, like, I would take – now, my question is, like, the way that we're talking about Luka right now. And Maxie Cleaver, too. Is SGA that type of dude that you could put almost anywhere and have him be the leader of the team? You could. You think so? You really could. I think you really could.

[02:55:45] The thing that's – the only thing that SGA misses is SGA – and it might be because he's Canadian. Because I think this is something I notice in Canadians. The thing that people say LeBron doesn't have, he actually doesn't have it. The killer instinct? The, I need to take this game over. Show me the game where he did what LeBron did against Detroit.

[02:56:15] You know, like, yo, we're going to lose this game unless I go into overdrive and take this. Well, ain't nobody do that. Show me the game that he did, the game six against Boston. Like, we – He tried it in game seven but ran out of gas. That's what I'm saying. Like, we haven't seen that. I think once SGA does that, he's the best player in the league by none. Once he – and he doesn't have to do it consistently.

[02:56:43] He just has to do it – he got to do it one time to show them y'all can't play with me like this. That playing in the Florida game where I'm just going to – you know, like, put your head down and play ball, dog. Does SGA finish as a top 20 player all time? There's too many players all time for me to say that. Carmelo Anthony's not a top 20 player all time. Does he have the potential to be a top 20 all-time player? Who would he get in front of?

[02:57:14] I don't know. It depends on who's in your top 20. I don't see a world in which SGA finishes as a better basketball player than Kevin Durant. Because he's got, what, two – he's got two MVPs. He's got a finals MVP. SGA – if SGA gets two more championships, he's definitely better than KD. No, he's not. Y'all know how I feel about Kevin Durant. Nah, legacy-wise, dog, SGA is better than KD because SGA did it with the team that he was supposed to do it with.

[02:57:44] The stuff that I've seen Kevin Durant do, I've never seen SGA do it. He will never do it. Y'all know how I feel about Kevin Durant. But you're doing the eye test there. I'm not going to add another half hour to this. He's from Baltimore? Hey, look, we can end the pie and we can have a phone call. Who's from Baltimore? Isn't Kevin Durant from Baltimore? He's from PG County, Maryland. Yeah, he's from PG County. So down there near – closer to D.C. He's in a DMV. He's one of your people. He's a Wale.

[02:58:13] Nah, I think Kevin Durant is – I'll just say this. I won't get into a long, drawn-out conversation. He's a cup player. Well, it's crazy as long as you don't factor in the injuries because that's the only reason DeMar DeRozan has more points than Steph Curry.

[02:58:29] I think that Kevin Durant, when you're talking to your sister or your girl cousin that you really like, that y'all are close, y'all are tight, and you go, yo, why didn't you and Rodney work out? Like, he was such a good dude. He had a great job. He had all this stuff going for him. And then she says something like, you know what?

[02:58:59] I thought I wanted a Rodney until I had a Rodney. I like the idea of Rodney. So that's KD? KD's the idea? Yeah, I think that's Kevin Durant because he's the seven-footer, the unicorn that can do the things, that can guard. You know, he can shoot and all that stuff. But he leaves a lot on the table for the way that we talk about him. He leaves one thing on the table. There's only one thing that Kevin Durant's not great at. What's that? Leadership.

[02:59:30] He's not a leader. He's not a leader of men. Everything on a basketball court that a person should be able to do, Kevin Durant has done in his career at a very, very, very high level. But I think that we've seen people that we would consider to be lesser talent than him accomplish more. Because they were better leaders. Maybe. Give me one. Kobe Bryant. Huh? Uh-oh. Hey, hey. Kobe Bryant.

[02:59:58] Remember that part where I said I didn't want to add a half hour? Well, here we go. You're out of your mind. You're out of your mind. No, wait, wait, wait. No. You're out of your mind. Okay. So very quickly. I'm going to do this very quickly and very respectfully. Isn't the thing about Kobe that Kobe wasn't the most talented person, but he made the most out of everything that he had? Isn't that the Kobe thing? Is it not? If it's not, then I misunderstand what everybody seems to love about Kobe more than anything else in the world.

[03:00:28] I would say this. Was Kobe Bryant the most talented person in the... Wait. Stop. Was Kobe Bryant the most talented person in the 1996 draft? No. No. Was Kobe Bryant the greatest player to come out of the 1996 draft? Yes. Why? Because he's a god. Okay.

[03:00:55] You want a real adult answer. Okay. So Kobe... Kobe was an athletic phenom. Kobe Bryant was still that guy. The only difference when we talk about Kobe taking a Ford Pinto and racing it against Ferraris is the fact that we compare him to Jeffrey.

[03:01:18] If we don't compare him to Jeffrey, Kobe Bryant still had the athleticism of most niggas in the... What's the difference between... What's the difference between... What's the difference between 8 Kobe and 24 Kobe? He became a leader. He became a leader of men. He became a leader of men. So I'm just saying that he's more talented than... That's what I'm saying. Look at that draft.

[03:01:48] 1996 NBA draft was number one. Yeah. Allen Iverson. Out the gate, he was not more talented than Allen Iverson. Yes. Out the gate, he was not more talented than Allen Iverson. Out the gate, he was not more talented than Allen Iverson. Allen Iverson had speed. That was it. Allen Iverson has never been better than Kobe Bryant on any day. Then why was one guy... Then why was one guy the first pick in the draft and won the 13th? Because one guy was in college doing things while the other guy was a high schooler. Oh, wait.

[03:02:16] So there's no track record of high school players going ahead of college players? I think... Dwight Howard, the 7th, the 6'11 guy. Defeated. Defeated. The 6'10 guy. AI was 6 foot tall standing on phone books. AI also was in college and had multiple records and years that you can look at. Kobe Bryant was an 18-year-old little kid that nobody wanted to give respect to. Kobe Bryant...

[03:02:47] Was Kobe Bryant more talented than Ray Allen? I'll wait for you, man. I'll wait for you, Jack. Maybe not more talented than Ray Allen. I'll wait for you, Jack. At the age of 96, no. Kobe probably wasn't more talented than Ray Allen. Jack, do you want to know how talented AI was? Jack, do you know how talented AI was? Seriously. He was a superstar quarterback. No, no. No. No, wait. I'm going to tell you how talented AI was.

[03:03:16] AI was so talented. That in high school, he got arrested for initiating a riot at a bowling alley. A riot at a bowling alley. Correct. Because Virginia... And John Thompson still went and got him. And still... Allen Iverson. Allen Iverson was so talented that the Georgetown team he played got outplayed massively by UConn.

[03:03:46] With Ray Allen on it. And he was still drafted ahead of Ray Allen. AI was... AI was 6'1 standing on phone books. So... 5'11". I don't have to... I don't have to, like... To make the case of Allen Iverson. The point that I'm making is... That I'll make it about Kobe, which was actually a compliment, which somehow... I don't know why you didn't hear it. Was that Kobe... It's not a compliment, but I get it. Was that Kobe became...

[03:04:15] 8' Kobe and 24' Kobe. The difference between those two players. I need some wine. If 8' Kobe... If 8' Kobe doesn't evolve into 24' Kobe, he never wins another championship. I agree. He doesn't. I agree. 24' Kobe is a leader of men. He says, hey, y'all. I'm talented and I'm smart. Get on my back.

[03:04:45] Get in my jam sport. Yes. Yes. Get in my... Hey, Paul Gasol. Paul Gasol. I know you're over there in Memphis. And things are... Like, you're not living the life you want to live over there. Come join me after I say I'm going to leave. Come join me over here. I respect everything you're saying. Minus the fact that Kobe Bryant was beating NBA players as a high school and the only reason that Kobe Bryant wasn't given the green light that he was supposed to be given

[03:05:11] is because an NBA coach was bullied into not starting him. If Kobe starts at 18, we're talking about a totally different career. Yes, we are. We're talking about a dude... No, no, Jack. No, Jack, we are. Everybody says his first three years were trashed and didn't matter. But his second season, he was an all-star. No, Jack. If Phil starts Kobe on that team before Shaq... No, no, no, no. I feel Dale. Dale is back. On that...

[03:05:39] Jack, on that team before Shaq with the mindset... Again, go back to eight Kobe versus 24 Kobe. With the mindset that fresh out of high school Kobe had, he does not become the guy he became. The story is a part of it. You can't get 24 without eight Kobe sitting those years. I don't want to argue with you about that. I think that you're not saying things that are crazy. I don't think they're saying things that are crazy.

[03:06:08] Like, it's immense. That's why it's always like, I don't understand where it's like... The guy... Like, you don't become... Michael Jordan doesn't become Michael Jordan if he's not cut from his JV team like you. I'm not... You gotta have that in the story. You're right. Kobe had to go through... And Kobe had to go through those back end years where it was like, I want to be the guy... Kevin Durant doesn't become a hoe if he wasn't scared of Russell Westbrook.

[03:06:38] Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant. Oh, so back to Kevin Durant. I think Kevin Durant... Read that right. Kevin Durant is the greatest pure scorer we've... I don't know if y'all seen somebody who scored easier than Kevin Durant. Uh-oh. See, why you keep doing this? I don't... I actually don't. I don't disagree with Riz. I don't... I don't... I don't disagree with Riz. I don't think I'm saying crazy stuff. KD is easily the best. I can do all these things.

[03:07:07] I can do everything! But, like, Kobe... Kobe is him in all aspects of this basketball game that we talk about. Kobe became him. Kevin Durant came into... No, Kobe was doing this stuff with Shaq! No, Jack. He had to dial it back! He had to dial it back! No, no, Jack. No, Jack. Kobe could do that as eight with Shaq because Shaq was getting double and triple teamed every game. Do you think... That was a thing!

[03:07:38] Oh, my God. Kobe was getting the same double teams, but the narrative changes. Jack, Jack, Jack. How... Jack, how do you double Shaq and double Kobe? You don't. You double one of them. But the problem is you start off at the perimeter and you move to the post. And then what happens? Now this guy's open. No, you're on me. Now this guy's open. Jack, who did you see guard... Who did you see guard Lakers-Shack 101? There was no such thing as guard Lakers-Shack 101. Tim, what are you talking about, Jack?

[03:08:07] Well, outside of Timmy and maybe like an old-ass Carl Malone. Dikembe tried it. Dikembe tried it and got destroyed. He ain't got the mask for it, so we already knew what that was. So, Jack, that's my point, dog. Like, when you're sitting down and you're drawing up the scouting report, hey, okay, two people are committed to this guy over here. I feel like... But I don't think that works if you have, say, Vince Carter instead of Kobe.

[03:08:37] Or if you have T-Mac instead of Kobe. I don't think what Rez is saying is... Even if you have Allen Iverson instead of Kobe. I don't think that works. I don't think what Rez is saying is wrong. No, Rez is not wrong. I think he's just... He's not wrong. It's just a point that, like... I don't want to say overstating, but... We overemphasize... We overemphasize the character that Shaq was. Somebody had to clear those games when Shaq was on the bench. Yes, so we overdo the Shaq thing. I agree. I agree.

[03:09:06] But, okay, how many minutes does Shaq... How many minutes does Shaq average? I don't know. Shaq average at least 30, 35 minutes a game. Correct? Yeah. But Rez, but this is the thing, like... When we talk about... So for 12 minutes a game? 12 minutes a game? Somebody had to... Come on, y'all. You're going to sit up here and tell me that when Kobe's averaging 29 and Shaq's averaging 32, we're really debating on, like, which guy was the guy? No. That's not what I'm debating.

[03:09:36] No, Shaq was the guy. Shaq was the guy. There is no debate. I'm not debating it at all. But Kobe... But I think what happens is that, like, since Shaq was the guy, there's only room for a guy. You know what I mean? Yeah. No, to your point, if Ray Allen, T-Mac, or Vince Carter are on those teams, there's no Lakers dynasty. There's no team...

[03:10:05] I think Ray Allen could have did it. Jack, if Ray Allen was... If Ray Allen was on those teams with Shaq, they win more rings. I don't know if I can go that far. You're out of your mind. You're out of your mind. Just because... Just because... No, no, no, no, no, no. Just because... Just because of how good this first... Jack, you didn't watch Ray Allen. Jack, you didn't watch Ray Allen when Ray Allen was Ray Allen. I understand who Jesus Sutherford is. I really understand. No, no, no. No, you're talking about a fictional character. I'm talking about Ray Allen for the Milwaukee Bucks. Number 34.

[03:10:34] Before Ray Allen became just a stand-up shooter, I understand. This guy was doing things. But to sit up here and pretend like Kobe isn't Kobe. I'm not. But I'm not. Jack, but Jack, but Jack, I'm not pretending that Kobe's Kobe. Okay, hold on. Let me reverse the question. Let me reverse the question. Reverse the question. Do you think that Kobe is the only person that could have done that with Shaq? I think Kobe's the only person that could have did three with Shaq, yes.

[03:11:04] And if that makes me crazy, then I'll be crazy. But yes, I don't think that any of those other guys, those three dudes that we're talking about, they're not getting three wins. They're not getting three championships. I know, which is crazy because you added Ray Allen, and I ain't even say Ray Allen. I'm saying. But those three guys are not getting three chips with Shaq. No. Especially when we're talking about T-Mac and weak-hearted Vince Carter. I said Vince Carter and Allen Iverson. Those were the three that I said. Allen Iverson is not doing it because Allen Iverson is not.

[03:11:34] No, no, no, no. Jack, another thing that you're missing. Another thing that you're missing when you have somebody as dominant as Shaq in the game for three of the first four years of your career, correct? So that was Kobe. He came his second year, right? Yes. He came his first year. Okay. He came his first year. Okay. So for his first, how many years of his career? Five, six years of his career? Seven. First seven years of his career. He went longer than that because he went to Miami in 2004. 2004.

[03:12:03] He got drafted in 96. 96. Eight. Yeah. Okay. So eight years. So do you know what the benefit of that is? Not having to be the guy? Do you know the benefit of not having to be? Okay. I'll agree to disagree. No. We're not. But we're not. Because we're not that far off from each other. Yeah. It's not an actual disagreement. It's just a perspective thing. Okay. Ray Allen, Vince Carter. Who's the other person you named? Allen Iverson. Who else? Allen Iverson.

[03:12:33] We said he added Ray Allen. Yeah, he added Ray Allen. Okay. I'm not going to throw T-Mac in. I'm not going to throw T-Mac in. I'm not going to throw T-Mac in because T-Mac doesn't fit into what I'm about to say. Yes. Incredible. We'll get back to KD. But I'm just saying. Wait, wait. What I'm saying is those guys came into the league and had to be the guy from the time they stepped on the floor on a team. Kobe didn't. Kobe got to grow into his role and become Kobe Bryant.

[03:13:02] It's easy to say that until you look at the misnomers. So, okay. All right. Wait. Hold on. Wait. Wait. 2-5. Hold on. Wait. So, if Kobe goes to Milwaukee, does he win a championship with Milwaukee? Probably not the first year. If Kobe goes to Philly, does Kobe? Wait. If Kobe goes to Philly. Yes. Yes. Yes. Kobe Bryant carries. Yes. Are you serious? 8-9. 2010.

[03:13:32] No, no, no. No, no, no. No, no. No, no, no. Shaq. No, no. No, no. No, Jack. No, no, Jack. No, no, Jack. Because you're talking about. Wait. Hey. He's talking about 2-4-Kobe. No, you're going to tell me. No, no, no. Wait, wait, wait, wait. We're talking about Kobe on that team that I tried to play with on 2-K. He. Yeah. Kobe. No, Kobe. No, Jack. Jack. Jack. Jack. Jack. Jack. Jack. Jack. Jack. Jack. Jack. 2001.

[03:14:02] Eight. Kobe. On that team. With that mindset. Is not beating the L.A. Lakers with Allen Iverson and Shaquille O'Neal. I don't know, though. I don't agree. I rest my case. I don't agree. I just don't. I don't agree, bro. Hey, so. Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant. With those titles with Shaq.

[03:14:31] My God. No, Kevin Durant with Shaq. Kevin Durant with Shaq would be the most unfair thing. Like 18 rings. It would be the most unfair thing we've ever seen in the history of basketball. He would have never pissed Shaq off. He would have just played his role. Yeah, he would shut up. He would have said, Shaq, do whatever you want to do, dog. He's definitely a passenger side guy. No, I think the thing is with Kevin Durant, I just think that he, and this is more narrative than it is like anything that happened, but you know what I mean?

[03:15:01] I just think he cheated the game. You know what I mean? And I think he cheated himself. I think he cheated the fans. You know, anybody that supported him, he spit in their face by doing what he did. So, from that standpoint, when I look at it. This really hurt you. I didn't realize this. No, it didn't hurt me. I'm not a Kevin Durant fan. You know what I'm saying? It didn't hurt you, but it definitely. It hit you in a special place. As a basketball. Okay, I put it like this. I put it like this.

[03:15:29] Because I don't think what KD did was so wrong. I don't think it was that bad. So, we acknowledge that he's not a leader. So, I don't think it was that bad. So, this is what I think. This is what I think. I think that we grew up watching football and we were like, yo, 49ers, Cowboys. Packers, Bears. We turned on the NBA and we said Jordan Ewing. Yeah. You know, Magic Bird.

[03:16:00] So, when you get to a certain point, the biggest egregious part of it, Jack, is not that he went to Golden State. It's the fact that Golden State was the team that eliminated him from the playoffs. Come back for 3-1 in the playoffs. Oh, 3-1 down. And then he said, if I can't beat them, join them. That's the point. That's the thing that, see, so that's the thing that disappoints everybody. But for me, that's the thing that supports it for me. Because.

[03:16:32] It affects his legacy negatively, of course, because he got those I's dotted two years in a row. No, no, no, no. So, this is the thing, right? So, the same reason that you think Kevin Durant is a loser for going to OKC. I didn't say those words. You didn't say those words. But, you know, whatever. You said hoe. You didn't say hoe. But for me. Fun as horse in the podcast.

[03:16:57] The thing for me is KD is not a leader of men. So, him going to Golden State doesn't give me the ugh. It's just like, well, that. That, no, he took the easy way out. But that's, but that's when he, but that's when it became he's not a leader of men. That move was like, oh. I never thought KD was a leader of men. You're not a leader of men. Even on OKC. No, but at the very least, at the very least, you thought Kevin Durant was the best player on a championship team.

[03:17:27] Or a team that could play for a championship. Now, the thing is, on OKC, he still was. But this is the other part of the equation that gets missed. Steph is the hoe. Oh, no. Steph is the hoe. All right, hey. Steph is the hoe. No, no. No, Jack. He's right. Jack, he's right. If you punch me in my eye and knock me on my ass. And then I run. The fight isn't over, right? I could get up and we could take you to fight.

[03:17:57] I run over. But then if I go, hey, Rez, come here and we jump you. It's you. It is you. No, he's right. No, no. So, like, that's always been my problem. So, that's the one thing that I actually did. That's the one thing that I actually did. You know, said, like, not hold against Kevin Durant. OK, can I say this? Hold up real quick. Steph had to sign off on letting Katie.

[03:18:26] If Steph says, I don't want Katie, Katie ain't there. Yeah, it's true. And you run it back. And you run it back against the dude that not only beat you, but embarrassed you. Because to this day, the Warriors are the only team in NBA history to blow a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals. And Steph ain't even want to get his get back. Can I just say this? Can I just say this? And if I'm wrong, I'll accept that I'm wrong. I'll tell you right now, you're wrong. Honestly, I'm enjoying this conversation a lot.

[03:18:56] But what I will say is... It's a phenomenal conversation. What I will say is... My name is Steph Curry, and I beat Kevin Durant. Hello, Steph Curry. Hello, Steph Curry. Right? I beat Kevin Durant, right? My name is Kobe Bryant, and I beat Ron Artest. I just recruited the guy that I thought was the best on that team. Terrible example. Terrible example. It's not. Awful example. It's not a terrible example. It's not a terrible example because... It is. In 2007, when Kobe and...

[03:19:24] I mean, O-9, when Kobe and Ron Artest went at it, Ron Artest was the best player on that team. And then Kobe got Ron Artest on the squad. Yes, but he wasn't a top 10 player in the league, bro. Ron Artest has never been the best basketball player on that team since he's a state job. Go run back. Go run back. Go run back. Wasn't he on the team with y'all? Go run back. No, y'all was hurt. Go run back to Rockets, Lakers. Go run it back. But Ron Artest wasn't better than T-Mac.

[03:19:55] Jack, if they're... Wait. 2-5. Hold on. I got you. Ron Artest got them to the Western Conference Finals. Hey, Jack. Hey, Jack. Hey, Jack. We're not doing that. We're not doing that because y'all are just taking Ron Artest to name and y'all aren't looking at the team and what he did that year. Jack. I love Ron Artest. I love Ron Artest. Jack. How old were you the year that happened? I was 8-17. Hold up. Time out. When the fuck did the Rockets make the Western Conference Finals? What is Jack talking about?

[03:20:24] What is Jack talking about? Y'all are lost. You two are lost. When did the Rockets make the... T-Mac never made it out the first round. T-Mac and Gal were hurt. It was Ron Artest and the Lakers. T-Mac and Gal. There's a Google file that you can look up. I don't need to make this up. Jack, I love you, bro. Ron Artest and Kobe Bryant. Jack, I love you, bro.

[03:20:54] Oh, my God. Jack, I love you, bro. I just... You said the Rockets did not play... Are you comparing Ron Artest? Are you comparing Ron Artest to Kevin Durant, my guy? I'm saying that... When the fuck did the Rockets make the Western Conference Finals? Is that... Was it not the Western Conference Finals? No, it was not. Was it the second round? I don't know what it was. It wasn't the Western... Hold on, let me see. Hold on, let me see. Let me look this up, bro. Yes, it was the second round. It was the second round.

[03:21:24] Okay, it was the second round, and then they went and played Melo. Lost to the Lakers in seven games. And then they played Melo, right? Jack. Yes. Okay, so my point being is... No, no, I'll take the L on it. It wasn't the Western Conference Finals. It was the second round. No, that's not what I'm laughing about. One round before. No, because you're trying to pretend that Ron Artest and KD are the same. Uh-oh, where's my drink? Hold on, wait, wait. No, no, Ron Artest in a while. No, I like Ron Artest. What I'm saying is... What I'm saying is...

[03:21:53] Ron Artest was the difference maker on that team. Ron Artest was the reason that the Rockets... Difference maker. Ron Artest was the reason that the Rockets were going crazy. Yes. Kobe then recruited the guy that he beat. So take away... Not the same thing, though. Dog, it is literally the same thing. It's not... Okay, check this out. Hold on. Check this out. Check this out. Go ahead, 2-5. Check this out. The Detroit Pistons beat the Chicago Bulls. Okay.

[03:22:22] Seven-game series. Correct. Isaiah Thomas breaks in Michael Jordan. Dog, that's the... Y'all don't want to hear that. It's the same thing. Jack. That is the same thing. Yes. It's the same thing. I beat your ass. Now you come play with me. No, but we're talking about the man on the team. Like, so if the Spurs beat SGA this year, and then SGA joins the Spurs. Correct.

[03:22:52] Wimby's not the hoe. That doesn't work if you're talking about J-Dub. Jack. No, but Wimby's not the hoe. Just like Steph isn't the hoe. I beat you. Now come play with me. Jack, just quick. Just right back to the... We'll quickly break back to the Ron Artest point, because I really got to figure this one out. No, just let it go. The problem was... No, Jack. Right. The problem wasn't that... Because one, if Kobe did...

[03:23:17] If Kobe did recruit Ron Artest, and we thought of Ron Artest on the same level that we think of K-D on... That's what you're making of a mistake, though. We should not have the... No, because that's what made it the thing. When they went and got Kevin Durant, Kevin Durant was considered either... Kevin Durant was considered either the best player in the NBA or one of the top three best players in the NBA. And he just... I'm... Right. Like, at minimum... I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm not disagreeing with you.

[03:23:47] But when I said... At no point in Ron Artest's career... At no point did we ever say, yo, do you think Ron Artest might be one of the top ten players in the NBA? Okay. That's fair to say. But to pretend that Ron Artest was not a big dog at that moment in his career... On that team. On that team at that time. That's all I'm saying. But it's not at all the same.

[03:24:16] The difference in your example and what I'm saying, though, is the context. Now, let me paint the whole picture for you. Mmm. So, Warriors win their first title, right? Right. They beat LeBron. Right. Everyone died. But wait. Yeah. Kevin Love got his arm pulled out the socket by Kelly O'Leary. Yeah. Right. And then they lost Kyrie in game one. Correct. You know what I'm saying? And then homeboy became a guy. Wait. It gets worse. It gets worse.

[03:24:46] So, no Kevin Love. No Kyrie. The Warriors still went down 2-1 in that series. Before they put Iguodala in the starting lineup. Yes. Right. So, I'm not one of those people, right? I'm not one of those people. But for the sake of this conversation, I'm going to put an asterisk next to that. Okay. You know, just off of that. Just off of that. Yes. I'm drinking. So, let's get this going. All right. Then year two, you got everybody healthy.

[03:25:16] You go up 3-1. And then we lose. Because the commissioner suspended J.M. So, instead of being like, hey, yo, we going to come back next year stronger and harder. We going to show them. We going to show them. Pause. If Rez knows this, Rez knows this. Remember, the Heat beat the Spurs in 2013. The Spurs was like, we on a mission. That team beat us. We coming for blood. We coming back to kill them. Yep. Golden State said, no.

[03:25:45] Let's get the dude that some people say are better than LeBron James. Let's go get him. To come to our team. No, no. So, we can beat LeBron James. No, Jack. No, 2-5. 2-5. Not just that. No, no, no way. 2-5. Not just that. Let's go. We just want more games in the regular season. They won 73 games. They won 73 games. That's not what I said, though. Without Kevin Durant. Correct. I'm not talking about what you said.

[03:26:15] I'm talking about what I'm saying. Right. But what you guys are saying is totally different than what I was talking about. You guys are talking about Steph Curry being a hoe for drafting KD. Oh, no. I said that. Chris didn't say that. I said that. But you were saying Steph Curry is a hoe for drafting KD after he whooped KD's ass. All I was saying was Kobe drafted Ron Artest after he whooped his ass. All the other things. He did. All the extra. No. So, that did happen.

[03:26:45] That did happen. But the only way that that example works is if. Is if he's the best in the world. I get that. No. No. No. No. Like, because to add on to that context, the Warriors came down from 3-1. So, from the Kevin Durant side of things, you had a 3-1 lead on the team that won 73 games. So, this is not one of those moments where it's like, the Warriors won 73 games.

[03:27:13] How are we going to deal with them? You had a 3-1 lead that they erased. And you said, I'm going there. So, that's his hoe side of it. Steph's hoe side of it doesn't necessarily have to do with KD per se. Steph's hoe side is you just are legal. Because we're the only team that ever blew a 3-1 lead. Now, this is the thing, right? Harrison Barnes couldn't hit a shot to save his life. Could not. Theoretically speaking. Theoretically speaking.

[03:27:41] All you needed was somebody a little bit better than Harrison Barnes. You didn't need Kevin Durant. Or just put Harrison Barnes in the gym. You didn't need to run Artest. You need to run Artest. That's all you need to run Artest. But that's what I'm saying. So, like, it's not just Steph. It's the whole team. Run Artest would have been great. All five of them, you know, whoever, went to Hampton. That's what they called them, right? The Hampton Five. The Hampton Five. Yep. They went to Hampton to beg Kevin Durant to come.

[03:28:10] And Kevin Durant didn't call them and say, you know what, guys? Y'all got this LeBron problem? I think I'm going to fix it. Yeah. The story literally goes. They lost game seven. And Draymond went to the parking lot and called KD. Like, he didn't even wash his ass. He went to the parking lot. He went to the parking lot. He washed his ass in the locker room. Hey, hey, Jack. Jack. Hey, Jack.

[03:28:40] When Jason Tatum, by the time Jason Tatum, in the time that it took for Jason Tatum to text Kobe, they were on the phone with Kevin Durant like, yo, dog, what are you doing tomorrow? Do you want to come to Golden State? So that's the context. If Kevin Durant just simply went to Golden State, we would still look at him a certain way, but we ain't got another part of the context. You're right. Okay. So let me just get both contexts out the way, right?

[03:29:10] My context is I beat you. I drafted you. Y'all's context is I was already better than you, but when I could have knocked your ass out, you weaved, and then I went and got my homeboy to jump you. Yes. That's all. Yes. So we are going to come back and fight. I just want to make sure that we understand that I'm not reparting. I'm just saying a different thing than y'all are. No, you're wrong. You're wrong.

[03:29:38] Our testing is very important because Kobe saw competition. It was like, yo, we could use that over here. We could use that guy. He's a key. That's all I'm, I just want to know the context there because I don't want people to see like, Oh, these guys are all over the place. No, I just wanted to make sure our context was the same or not the same, but I do want to make sure the separate points are made. I understand where y'all are coming from. Yeah.

[03:30:06] But I want to make sure y'all understand where I was coming from. Cause we're not having the same debate. I want to, I want to add, I want to add one more piece to it. When Kobe recruited Ron Artest, do you think Kobe brought Ron Artest in thinking, Hey, this guy's going to be going to take some finals MVPs for me? I don't think Steph thought that, but good point. No, no, Steph knew it. No, no, no, no. Steph knew it. And do you know how we know Steph knew it? Because what happened to Steph's,

[03:30:33] what happened to Steph's shots per game? When Kevin Durant came on the team. On top of that, on top of that, if you dollar stole that man's finals MVP, that was anything. I will die on the hill that Steph deserved that finals MVP. No, but that's what I'm saying. But that, but that, but that adds, but that adds to the level of the holdup. Because, you know, he's,

[03:31:03] he's the more holdup out here. Because you could have had, you know what I'm saying? Not only could you have got your gig back against, Ron, you could have gotten the finals MVP that you didn't get the gear before too. Mine too. All I'm, all I'm, all I'm going to say is, all I'm going to say is, I, we disagree. Steph Curry deserving finals MVP. However, comma, absolutely. However, comma,

[03:31:31] Steph did get his finals MVP against Boston. So, hey. Jack will say it. He will be like, you know what Wimby did? He went to the number one seed in the Eastern Conference and got their difference maker. He saw, he saw, he saw Tobias Harris out there loving him. KC in New York all by himself. Hey, you know what? Hey, you know what? When be going to go out here and get OG,

[03:32:01] open up, oh, yeah, I'll go, whatever. Okay. I don't know. But, but, but you know, but, but that's what I'm saying though. like, like, so, so like, like even this year, right? Um, let's, let's just say, so the Knicks won the title. You know what I mean? Let's just say, let's just say Donovan Mitchell was like, oh, yeah, I got to go to the Knicks now. Like, he would be a punk for that.

[03:32:30] You know what I'm saying? But, but that's, but that's what, that's what I'm saying. Like, so Steph got aware of that because Steph knew, hey, we can't fuck with this dude. Yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah. And it was like, yeah. If, if, if the Knicks went and got Tyrese Maxey, you know what I mean? Like, this, this is, like, yeah, and that's, so, so that's why I'm like,

[03:32:59] I should say as a competitor and what sports is supposed to be about. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? Like that, that, that's not, it's been in the face of everything. It, it actually, but it actually was, it actually was a thing that people, it actually wasn't the thing that people said that LeBron did when he, when he went to the heat. Like, that was actually, yeah, it was actually that thing. But you know, another scene, I think kind of LeBron just goes to the heat. I just want to say my wife did show up. Yeah. Yeah. But no, if, if it was just,

[03:33:29] if it was just LeBron going to the heat and him and D Wade formed a duo, people would still be mad, you know what I'm saying? But it's like, but people would also be like, yo, I want to see LeBron and Wade together. It's when they went out and got the 24 and 10 guy to go with it. And made him a 15 and 10 guy. And it goes, well, he was 24 and 10 before he went there. And then, no, he became a 15 and 10 guy. But then, but then the part that,

[03:33:57] that people didn't like about the LeBron thing, I think that people forget about is that the way that the story goes. Now we don't, I don't know what's exactly true. It was not exactly true, but it goes when they were in the Olympics together, they planned this out. That's where it looked for LeBron. It was kind of like, you gave up on Cleveland. You wasn't going to stay like this. Wasn't a, I'm frustrated.

[03:34:25] And my contract is up and I'm leaving. You made the decision two, three years before your contract was even up that we're going to get together and do this. That's where people had the problem. I don't necessarily have a problem with it. I don't necessarily have a problem with it per se, because it's your career and you honored your contract. So like do what you do. You know what I mean? But that's just, but that's just one of those things.

[03:34:50] Like people don't want to feel like there's collusion or there was some kind of plan, you know, said, especially like, like I think what hurt LeBron is that Cleveland was his local. That's his home team. You know what I mean? So it's like, that's what he did to his home team. Oh, you know, one of my favorite things about that. Remember when went after it, he started being like, yeah, you know, but I'm from Akron. Yeah. I'm from that. That was funny. He's like, but I'm from Akron.

[03:35:21] I missed how y'all got to LeBron. And to this day, LeBron James, when you go to donate that NIL to the Akron zips, to the Akron zips. I know. Wait, wait, one more, one more Katie point. We just sort of were talking about the difference between the two. Yeah. We're just talking about the move to Miami and one more, one more thing on the Katie thing. Another reason why we know that that move really hurt Katie. Katie has not sniffed the MVP since, since he went to go, went to go to state.

[03:35:52] He did not become, he did not become a worse player. He didn't become a worse player when he went to go to state. He has not sniffed an MVP. It's okay. Yeah. And Steph, like I said, like, you know, so Steph redeemed himself because they won that 22 title. You know what I mean? So that was, so that helped. The 22, the 22 was a big one for them. Yeah. Right. Cause he, cause if he had never, if he didn't win that title and all he had was that first title with the

[03:36:22] injuries and then the Durant title, the KD ones, we could look at him completely different. And he wouldn't have any finals MVPs. You're talking about Stefan, right? Yeah. Or they have any finals. That would hurt him. That would hurt him. Or they'll Stefan Curry, the third. Stefan Curry is, is, I feel like Steph Curry deserves to be in the top 10 of all time. Only because, who are you taking out? Only,

[03:36:51] only because, no, I don't want to do that. Rez. I don't want to do that. I don't, I don't know who I'll take out. Well, you have to, if you go put them there, somebody got to go. Somebody ought to put them in. Well, all of our top 10, they're not the same. So that's why I said, I don't want to. I know, but who are you taking out of your own? We're wondering, this is a podcast. Okay. So if I had to make my top 10 and we're just doing one through 10, I'm taking either Shaq or Tim Duncan. That too. I didn't even get to that. That too. Oh,

[03:37:21] Zaja, Petulia taking out Kawhi in that game where the Spurs were up by 25. Yes. And we, and you know what? That, that Spurs game, that Spurs game does matter because the Spurs were whooping their ass. But, okay. But matter of fact, let's wrap up on this. Let's wrap up on this. I like it. Okay. I like it. So if we're looking at KD that way, you know, where he might be slightly diminished,

[03:37:53] what are we doing with Kawhi? That's the same question. It's not the same question. Kawhi, the problem with Kawhi is Kawhi Leonard at his peak is how you would have to do all the arguments. Peak for peak. When Kawhi did this, when Kawhi was, that's how all those conversations. He had his best season of his career this past season. Did he?

[03:38:22] Maybe statistically, but I still argue Kawhi as a Spur was a guy on the court. Why do I feel like I'm disappearing? Not necessarily because when he won that finals MVP, it wasn't because he was dominating offensively or anything like that. Like they were all averaging about the same thing. They won the series for one and they had the best shooting in an NBA finals, basically.

[03:38:53] So he got the MVP because he held LeBron to 28, eight, eight. Yep. You know, said like, but then he won the title in Toronto where he took down the Warriors. And just like the Warriors, people ignore the injuries that the Warriors had in that series, including KD not being there. KD and Steph. I mean, and Clay. Clay. Yeah. So if KD. But I consider, I consider, I consider, I consider Toronto,

[03:39:22] Kawhi, God, God tiered Kawhi. Right. He was. Even though he traveled against the Sixers, but you know, we don't talk about Bruno. Did he travel when he took that shot? Yeah. Really? As soon as he caught the ball, he traveled. Well, LeBron travels all the time. So whatever. LeBron, LeBron, LeBron, LeBron, LeBron, LeBron, LeBron, LeBron, LeBron, You know what I'm saying? Now, now some hate.

[03:39:52] Let it, let it, let it, let it leave. Let the, let the, let the, leave the silence with some hate. Nah, but like, I don't know, man. Like, like, like I said, I don't have beef with Kevin Durant. I would definitely, I definitely wouldn't call myself a Kevin Durant fan, but I wouldn't say that I got, I don't know if you're a Kevin Durant fan. No, you're, you're 100% not a Kevin Durant fan. I just, I just feel like, I just,

[03:40:16] I just feel like I offer something different to the conversation because people just look at his statistics and his, like his height and all that kind of stuff. And then it adds to the lore of what he has become. But, you know what I mean? I think his ability is. But, but I think there's a balance. Katie's ability is absolutely insane. When he hit the game, he went against Dallas. There's a, there's a balance between ability and accomplishment. You know what I mean?

[03:40:44] Because Dominique Wilkins had ability. But he has no ability. Does Dominique Wilkins, does, does Dominique Wilkins have a, a league MVP? No, that's what I'm saying. Accomplishment. He came in twice. He came, he came in second, what, two or three times when the years that he didn't win it? Maybe. Uh, he also has two final, he also has two finals. Oh, he's talking about Durant. Sorry. I was talking about Durant. I'm saying like, Dominique is not Durant in any way. Like, there's no. No, no.

[03:41:13] I'm not saying that he is. I'm just saying that it's not just ability alone. Like, you still got to have the accomplishments too. Right. Yeah, but Dominique Wilkins, Dominique Wilkins got a little. But I can tear down Durant's accomplishments, you know, like outside of the MVP. And they made the finals with, um, OKC when he was young. Like his Golden State stuff, like that's just going to be perspective. If that, yes. How you want to use that. But that, but see, for me, that's, that's why I went back to that MVP point. Up until that,

[03:41:42] the OKC move, everybody like, this guy is the guy. They even had to respect it. It was like, dog, in the finals, like you, like you're clearly the best player on this team, dog. Like, he was stacked when you got here. You were clearly the best player on this team. But Westbrook was the best person in that final. But we are not, but we are not in any shape, form, or fashion ever going to give you that MVP look ever again. It stopped there. Westbrook was the best player in that final. And, the Heat finals? He might've been,

[03:42:12] he had a 44 point game in that series. You know, he might've been, I think the rant was probably more consistent. I think Westbrook just had the best game overall out of everybody. But, um, I don't know. I don't know. We'll never know. But that, and that's the problem. We'll never know. You know what I'm saying? We haven't debated sports in a while. That was pretty good. That was pretty good. Yeah, he cheated the system. You know what I'm saying? Um, but yeah, on that note, y'all, we done reached out. God damn.

[03:42:43] Damn. Nah, before we get out of here, before we get out of here, I just wanted to say, I saw you on the pod, man. You were out here killing it, but you're seeing it kind of melancholy. And I was like, I want, I don't want my guy to feel like, you know, he was out here by himself. I really enjoyed, um, the, the, the pod that you were doing, the, the hour and the two hours that you did before we came on. Um, and like, I just, I want to just take just a second, just to give you your flowers for your dedication to the craft of podcasting. Um, there,

[03:43:12] I say it all the time. Nobody is more researched, more knowledgeable about this stuff than you are. And that's why even at a football game, I'm going to put ear pods in and watch sports reports as ordered. Cause I know how much it means to you to really get this right. You are the big homie in that because you're older than both of us. At least. You hear that CBS? Um, so yeah, so make sure.

[03:43:42] Yeah. So not for real. Like I, I just, I watch you and I, you know, I don't know how I feel at ESPN, you know what I mean? So like, that's like, you, you, you, you really are goaded in this thing, man. Like, I know. Tomorrow trying to get this FSU Miami game on my phone. No, we got to get some microphones. So we just started interviewing people for real. Yeah. You need a press badge. That's what I need. I need to get me some credentials.

[03:44:11] But I will say this is fun. Shout out. It is the first sports reports is ordered episode that ever went over three hours. So, you know, glad to be part of his group. No, it isn't. What was the other one? We had a, we had a four hour one when we did the NFL draft. Well, that's not, that's not a sound. That don't count. That don't count. This is all conversation. This is just, this is just heat. This is just heat, dog. This is the Say Less, Say More collab, dog. Well, there you go. Cause you know, we done reached that.

[03:44:40] God damn. Three hours. Three hours. 44. You know what I'm saying? 43 is 44, 45. I was supposed to go on the walk with the wife like an hour ago. She might still be up. I was supposed to eat dinner like two hours ago, but it's all good. I enjoy it. We love you, fam. I just got mine. As soon as I said, as soon as I said my wife went to sleep for me, I opened the door and she was standing right there. All right. So we're going to do something real quick.
