[00:02:16] San Diego Chargers You Think Have a
[00:02:34] For Their Lives This Weekend On The
[00:02:50] I Will Have a here's another one for you, Mike. The Raiders haven't given up a point in the fourth quarter this year. The Raiders are playing against Patrick Mahomes.
[00:03:17] And if you know nothing else about the Kansas City Chiefs, you know there's going to be a weird call at some point in this game. Probably during the fourth quarter. Man, stop it. Probably during the fourth quarter. Bogus. Everybody get them calls. Bogus. So, simply put. He was called last year and it was 6-11. All right. Well, simply put, Mr. Logical, does it stop here? The streak?
[00:03:47] Yeah, probably. Well, not the fourth quarter thing, but the Raiders. Like, are they going to go 4-0? Yeah, the Raiders, yeah. Yeah, they're not going to go 4-0. And it's no shade to them as a team. I just think that the quarterback that they have isn't dynamic enough for Spags not to figure out. I think they turn Kirk Cousins over once or twice. Chris Jones doesn't get through, cause a sack. I just, I don't know. I just figure, like, it just.
[00:04:19] The Raiders play some adequate NFL teams. Middle-of-the-road teams, some bottom-tier teams. When you're dealing with the Kansas City Chiefs, man, it's like, this is up-right so on. Hey, hit them with the line, Brad. Hit them with the line. What is it? When you're good. You know what I'm talking about. When you play with skill, good luck will happen. There you go.
[00:04:48] Yeah, so, I mean, it's just, like I said, it's a game of, we talk about it all the time, like, where are you definitively better than the opposing team? Like, what group? Like, if your offensive line is better, then you're more likely going to win the run-the-game battle. If you're, you got, if you have better tacklers at the linebacker position, then you're probably not going to give up big games. Because linebackers are, like, that middle linebacker stop runs from being 8 to 12 yards.
[00:05:17] Safety's come down in the box, but if safety's making tackles, you're at 10, 11 yards, 12 yards. You know what? Tell Penn State that. Like, listen, you see it happen every time where a team doesn't, if you don't win the line of scrimmage, and it turns you over. Third and one, Chris Jones, Karlovskis, you know, Nick Bolton, like, these guys are still there with the young talent around.
[00:05:47] And that's one of the things I said during our preview is that some teams keep old guys for too long, but they don't have enough of a solid core because they just don't, they don't hold on to them. Like, some of the way the Jets kind of go about their business, where guys just end up being eagles in the same way. The eagles end up being eagles. They get that situation. They'll have the old guys, but just some young guys. Then the old guys are strong. So not a young guy.
[00:06:22] Kansas City has spags and their core of their defense, which is Bolton, Jones, Karlovskis, Tranquil. That's four out of 11 guys that can control the line of scrimmage and give opportunities to the young DBs because they don't have to cover for that long because guys like Jones in, like, their defensive tackle man,
[00:06:51] their defensive line are putting pressure on the quarterback. See, I was going to say that, Mike. The only difference is I was going to say Las Vegas and not Oakland. But, you know, here's one. Who leads the league in yak? Probably Ashton Jensies as we're talking about the Raiders. No, no, no. Kenneth Walker. Travis Kelsey. Travis Kelsey.
[00:07:19] So the Kansas City Chiefs in general as a team. So this game has to be won in space for the Raiders. So, you know, like usually when we talk about football games, you know, a lot of what you talked about, you know, the trenches, who's going to win the trenches, who's going to get the push off the snap and all those type of things. For the Raiders to win this game, they got to tackle in space. You know, Kenneth Walker as well is the leading rusher in the NFL. So welcome back, Eric B.
[00:07:49] Enemy. You know, there's that. You know, so I think the thing with Patrick Mahomes is that makes him so frustrating and makes the Chiefs so frustrating is because when you think of quarterbacks beating you, you think, oh, rocket arm over the top. You know, take the top off the defense. You think about that kind of stuff, especially when you look at their roster and you see a Rasheed Rice and, you know, Xavier Worthy.
[00:08:16] But Patrick Mahomes is just hitting dudes in the flat. He's just hitting dudes four to five yards down the field, and they're turning upfield and getting another six or seven yards. So you got to stay home, not bite, and just tackle well. So you talked about that quarterback that's not dynamic, Kirk Cousins. Yeah.
[00:08:38] What he does bring to the table, though, at this stage in his career, and I know as an Atlanta Falcon fan, he didn't bring it to Atlanta. But, you know what I'm saying, but what he's bringing to the table is not beating themselves. Where I sour on the Raiders a little bit, Mr. Logical, in this game is, you know, I like to look at your most recent game leading up to the new game.
[00:09:04] And the Saints literally turned the ball over on four straight possessions. You know what I mean? Like, Kansas City's not going to do that. And the Raiders were down 11 at one point in that very same game. They only won that very same game by eight points. So what that's telling me is the Raiders are timely. They're not necessarily skilled or great or whatever. They're timely, you know.
[00:09:32] But you can only be timely if I let you hang around. You know what I mean? So if I'm Kansas City, I'm trying to jump out on you early. And then the other thing about it, I talked about Kenneth Walker. The Saints ran 446 yards last week against the Raiders. And ETN ain't even playing. So now as we look back at this, I think the key to this game is N'Kobe Dean on the Raiders defense. And I think it's Ashton Jensie on offense.
[00:10:02] Because I'm not trying to be that guy, right? We were talking about Ken Ward the other day. Huh? Dane enough. Dane enough. Dane enough. No, I know. I know. But he's got to. That's what I'm saying. He has to step outside of himself. Because we were talking about Cam Ward the other day. Is he a bust? No. Ashton Jensie is not a bust. But he's nowhere near, you know, what people expected out of him. So he needs to have one of those defining games for the Raiders to have any chance in this. Yeah, they saved the week for it, though.
[00:10:32] I think running backs transition to the NFL a little better. And we talked about the quarterback play. It's just, I don't think the Chiefs are going to do anything. I don't think they're going to do anything spectacular unless you mess up. If you don't pass off the over route, and like you said, you've highlighted Taequann Thornton as the best receiver of the group.
[00:11:00] He's still probably the fourth receiving option. So if you're going into it defensively, you're looking at, okay, I think Kelsey's probably your one. Kenneth Walker's getting a lot of screening passes. I don't know if you can really scheme for that other than just to give them keys. Like, hey, if you look like you're getting through free to patch Mahomes rather quickly. Turn around. No, that's probably a screening pass.
[00:11:25] But that can happen so quickly because they like to get Mahomes throwing the ball, and they like to get the ball to the back. Ain't the way he can just navigate and get the screening pass off. So I think Worthy is your concern about not letting him get through the line. But he's been so susceptible to getting jammed at the line. I think you're good with you making him third priority. Rasheed Rice. Rasheed Rice played third, and then Xavier Worthy.
[00:11:51] You still got Thornton that can get in motion and get matched up with, like you said, Nicole Bedean or something in a zone matchup. And now Mahomes sees that, and he'll see a pre-snap. So I think that's the piece that Kansas City has. Being able to control a clock with Kenneth Walker, the third, and the way he's running the ball. Big back a lot faster than I expected. Because even in Super Bowl, I knew he was obviously a Super Bowl MVP.
[00:12:20] What up, Braz? Yeah. Even if you think he hasn't done anything this season, if you don't cover him on that post route, Mahomes can throw it 70 yards in the air. We've seen it in the preseason, like a game against Atlanta. So if you don't cover it right, and he sees it, and he rolls out, and he lets it fly, but it doesn't matter what the prize receiver is. If they're open and he can hit them deep, that'll be fine. But I like what the Raiders are doing.
[00:12:49] I wouldn't feel, I think, ending this weekend 3-1 if I'm a Raiders fan, I won't feel terrible. I don't think they're going to overdo it because I know teams sometimes when they played Chiefs, historically when they used to play the Colts back in the day or played the Patriots that was horned, teams kind of get out of their wits and try to max them. Listen, play your game and see how it plays out.
[00:13:17] I just think the Chiefs are going to be able to manufacture more points and more scenarios that the Raiders are going to be ready for. I think the most surprising part of this is that this is the first time that these two teams have met while they were both 3-0. You know, as I think about NFL history and the impact that these two franchises have had on the league, that's just very interesting to me. But yeah, I think the Raiders don't have enough.
[00:13:42] I think it's still a close game, though, because the Raiders and Kansas City seem to play some really weird games. Like, remember the Friday game where the Chiefs had, like, a pick six and a fumble return back-to-back? You know, like, stuff like that tends to happen. Yeah, and they didn't do anything else for the rest of the game? Yeah, it was strange. Yeah, so I'm going with Kansas City, and I'm going to call it something along the lines of 27-20.
[00:14:10] I'll give you 31-13. Okay. All right, you ready for this? It's got to be a blowout somewhere. Like, they've been surprise blowouts all year. I think I'm going to call that one. 31-13. All right, you ready for this? Let's hear it. Tell Rez why you're picking Denver to beat the 49ers. Boy, stop. No, I'm not a Bo Nix guy.
[00:14:40] I'm going, listen, like I said, I don't think I've really kind of like, you know, must have been any Brock Burney slander since he's been in the league. I've always been. I think because the conversation from the puns has always been very just, I won't say negative, but it's like, it's critical to the point where it's like, it's laughable.
[00:15:05] Like, he's only averaging 245 yards a game passing because of all his receivers. Yeah, but that's how you get that. Like, that's how you get to, you throw it to receivers and they run. They're like, oh, it's yard. Yeah. Yeah. Yak is like, that's a stat that they track. So if I throw a dragger at the rack, it's two yards. And you take it 80. That's 80 yards. That's an 80-yard touchdown for me. Call it, you know, whatever you want.
[00:15:34] I don't care about air distance, all this other stuff. When it comes down to it, if you give them an opportunity to make the throw to Kittle on that little corner route, he's going to throw it. Then Kittle's going to catch it. He's going to do some funny end zone dance. And people are going to get on TV saying, well, you know, he's Mr. Irrelevant. That is completely irrelevant now because I think the amount of – he was picked 256. I think he's getting 256 million, something like that. It all balances out. The opportunities come.
[00:16:02] I think Brock Purdy should be the guy that people point to as if you work hard, you can make it. If you are there when the opportunity comes, you can make it. And I think he's always been that. Now, is he ever going to be as big as Dan Marino and throw the ball as hard as Brett Favre? Probably not. Does he need to? No. His defense is solid. The core guys are back.
[00:16:27] Fred Warner punched the ball out from a fullback who's seen him covering – and covered it up with both forearms and both fists, and he still punched it out. That's a man determined, and I think that kind of energy resonates to the entire defense. I like San Francisco. I think of the NFC West teams, they're probably the most complete team. And, like, we're res. Listen, I'm not a fanboy, but I'm like – I just think after three weeks, you kind of get a –
[00:16:55] you kind of have a gauge of, like, how a lot of these team seasons are going to go. You know, injuries were standing. I think San Francisco healthy. You got to give them a fighting chance every single week. You see, me and the 49ers, we go back like babies and Gerber, right? It's the same formula every year. We talk preseason.
[00:17:25] I look at their schedule, and I'm like, hey, the 49ers could literally win every game. Hey, the 49ers are probably going to go 13-4. Then about week three, four happens, and I go, which one of these games is the injuries going to catch up? You know what I mean? That's a byproduct of just being in the NFL. That could happen to anyone. No, that's a byproduct of being the 49ers.
[00:17:50] It seems to happen to them a little bit more in their upper echelon players. Yeah. Exactly, Mike. That's exactly what I'm saying. Man, like every year I come into the year, like the 49ers really have a chance to win the Super Bowl, but I'm not going to pick it because I don't know if McCaffrey's going to be there. I don't know if Bosa's going to be there. Luckily, you know, it hasn't been Brock Purdy, knock on wood, but, you know, now, you know, Bosa's hurt again.
[00:18:18] Mike Evans is hurt, and it's like it got to catch up at some point. But on the flip side, it's got to catch up to Denver too because they literally come out and don't even do anything until the third quarter. Like they were talking to Bo Nix the other day, and they were talking to him about, you know, having trouble scoring in the first half, and he was just like, yeah, it's like, you know, first down, we get a first down, then we get –
[00:18:45] then the next first down we go second, third down, and we punt. And it's like, yeah, that's the first half. And it's like, you know, Jacksonville was up 13-3 on them. The Rams were up 16-0 on them. And then, of course, there was the P.I. at the end. But, you know what I mean? It's just one of those things – P.I. Yeah, it was one of those things where, like, now you're going on the road. You're not in the safe confines of Mile High.
[00:19:09] The last time I saw you on the road, Kenneth Walker was stone-cold Steve Austin stomping a mud hole in your ass and walking it dry. You know what I'm saying? Now, granted, that was the first game of the season. But at this stage, I do think that San Francisco is slightly better than Kansas City. You know what I mean? At this moment. At least looking at, like, you know, college football style. Looking at the resume. You know what I mean? I think San Francisco is slightly better.
[00:19:39] The problem for Denver, I think, in this particular game is that they don't run the ball nearly enough to keep the Fred Warners and people like that out of your face. Because no one's afraid of Bo Nix. So when you try to establish a run, your first 15 plays – They can't run. Because Bo Nix makes plays – When it's scramble time. Hence why – That's what I told you. Remember I told you that. Like, he makes plays out of structure. You want to keep Bo Nix –
[00:20:09] Like, it sounds stupid. But you want to keep Bo Nix standing there with time. You don't want it to be chaos because he thrives in the middle of chaos. Yeah, and they have receiver threats, and he will find anyone. I don't think he has a favorite receiver. I think Cortland Sutton is probably upset they didn't have a favorite receiver. Jayden Ball is probably like, yo, I need to be your favorite receiver. Like, he has weapons.
[00:20:34] And I've watched a couple of games on TV, and then you hear the commentators talk about the Davis Webb, Sean Payton, Bo Nix, play calling, history. You know, all of these, you know, these ancillary things that come along with a struggling offense. But when it boils down to it, the running game is a zero threat game. Like I was talking about Kansas City. There's hierarchies to the defensive coordinators.
[00:21:00] Right now it's Friday, 6 o'clock out in Las Vegas, 6 or 7. Their defensive coordinator is figuring out who is a priority, who we match up, who do we double in each 20 situation for the Chiefs. I don't think the San Francisco defensive coordinator is truly concerned about what are they going to get out of the running game. I think he's like, okay, how do we keep, like you said, Bo Nix in the pocket?
[00:21:30] How do we keep him from making off-schedule plays? Do we spy him every once in a while? Do we spy him with Fred Warner? I mean, if you drop eight, someone's going to come open. And, matter of fact, hold on, let's rewind. First of all, the 49ers defensive coordinator as if you don't know his name. Stop that. Don't be like that. I'm just drawing a blank. I've worked all week. Raheem Morris. Don't be like that. Oh, no.
[00:21:59] Like, no cap. I was drawing a blank. That's why I just said defensive coordinator. Listen. Oh, I thought you were being a smartass. No, no, no, no. Listen, listen. I just thought he just wasn't a good head coach. I just thought, like, the dynamics of his head coach. I just think he – But, yeah. I think he's a great leader of men. And I think to be a good defensive coordinator because it's almost a thankless job. As L.A., the corner did everything he could to get the interception against Denver last week.
[00:22:27] While he was being pulled on, pushed backwards, he still got his hands up underneath, caught the pick, got his two feet and a knee down, and they caught him for passing the fence. So, being on defense, you need someone that can galvanize the group. I think Raheem Morris does a great job of that. On top of the fact that you have talented all-pro players at every level.
[00:22:54] Well, going back to what I said earlier about how I look at your previous game and try to see if I can find trends and all that kind of stuff like that. The Rams ran all over Denver last weekend. And all the 49ers have – And all the 49ers – Well, yeah, they stopped running. But all the 49ers have is one of the best Swiss Army knives in the league. You know, and then, you know, rookie, I like Kalen Black. So, you know, it's time to go. It's time to go, 49ers. You know what I mean? Give me 49ers.
[00:23:25] And let me call it 23-13. I'll go 27-20 because I think they'll be up 27-13. And then both nicks just scramble. 2-58 left in the game. Get the touchdown. Onside kick. And then the 49ers kind of close it out. All right.
[00:23:49] That dynamic between Sean Payton and Davis Webb, it's – we talked about replacing the legend. I think Davis Webb is in a tough spot because it's like – I didn't come here to replace the legend. I came here to, you know, take advantage of this opportunity. But if everyone in the building is going to be looking like, hey – because if he loses his job calling plays, I don't know how that looks on your resume if you're interviewing for jobs next year. Well, he's already been interviewing for jobs.
[00:24:19] So, you know what I'm saying? But if you lose this job, if you lose this – like, you can't get demoted. Well, I mean, you can in NFL if you fit a certain demographic. 6'2", 6'4", brown hair, fair skin. You can kind of get an opportunity. You shouldn't because if you lose this gig, why are you still on the team? Like Nathaniel Hackett, I'm pretty sure he's hired somewhere. Shouldn't be. But that's a conversation for Celes Simmel.
[00:24:49] I see what you did there. I'm trying to – I still haven't picked this game. So, this is going to happen in real time. But Jacksonville is going to Cincinnati. And these are two teams that, you know, I feel like I was on the mark with one and I was way off with the other. So, Jacksonville, you know, I was kind of low on coming into the season. Cincinnati, I was higher on.
[00:25:18] And you don't want to keep doing that thing where you're like, this is the week. This is the week. But the Bengals have to start scoring at some point. You know what I mean? Like, I mean, granted, they scored 24 last week. But it hasn't looked effective. It hasn't looked consistent. The Bengals or the Jaguars? I thought the Bengals had 30. No, the Jaguars got the best offense in the league. I thought they had 30. I'm talking about the Bengals. Against the Steelers. No, they lost 27-24. Okay.
[00:25:47] You know, but no. It felt like 34, 31, 30. But, like, what I'm saying, though, is that, like, these past couple of years, you know, and, of course, Joe Burrow's been hurt. But generally speaking, when Joe Burrow was on the field, you felt Cincinnati could score every time they had the ball. Like, you felt like, I got to score 30 to beat this team. Because they just have so much weaponry, and he's the conductor that's going to make it all work. So, the Bengals decided, like, hey, let's put Joe Burrow under center.
[00:26:17] The same thing Washington did with Jaden Daniels. Like, let's try him under center. Let's, you know, go back to basics. And Joe Burrow's just not comfortable. Like, when he takes that turn, steps back, he don't know what to do. Like, he's literally like a fish out of water. You know, and I think it throws the rhythm of their offense off. Because as we look back at highlights, you see Jamar Chase making great catches. You know, you see the touchdown Tee Higgins had last week.
[00:26:45] So, in theory, when you're looking at small sample sizes, that's the Bengals that I recognize. But when you, like, just look at it over the course of a four-quarter game, you're like, yo, the Bengals are in these games and winning these games because of their defense, which I thought I would never say. So, that's where I'm at with the Bengals right now. What I am looking forward to is Travis Hunter, you know, got his first career pick last week. And, hey, guess what you get this week? You get uno.
[00:27:15] So, that's going to be fun. It's going to be terrorizing. You know, outside of that second half at mile high, we'd be calling Jacksonville the best team in the league. Besides, you know, you'll put him up there with San Francisco and Kansas City. I don't think you would. Like, Trevor Lawrence is dealing, as they say. I don't even know what that means, but he's dealing. Yeah, but I don't think you believe it. I don't think you, not in the proverbial sense of you, believe it just because it's Jacksonville.
[00:27:45] Trevor Lawrence has always looked the part from the time. I think we didn't believe in the Urban Meyer window, but I think people believed in the, what's the ball name that won a Super Bowl in Philly? Nick Fole? I mean, no. You're talking about the coach. Yeah. Doug something, right? Doug Peterson, yeah. Doug Peterson. I think because Trevor Lawrence looks the part, I think.
[00:28:14] Another thing about it, and this is something that's just a marketing thing, their uniforms, they just look the part, like the black uniforms, the color, everything about it. But when you break it down, every single year, you get in the same pie. You get a few good games. You get a few duds. You get the comeback against the Chargers. But it hasn't been much since. So I don't think anyone would ever think they're. Think about it like this.
[00:28:43] A set six and two Jacksonville at the week eight, I think people will probably rock. Because they start off great every year because they draft well. The free agency is well. Florida, no state tax, all this stuff. They get big wide receivers. They got the big quarterback. I think they do. They build the team well. It's just they're in a division that they should be dominating, or at least they should be a little bit.
[00:29:12] They should be head and shoulders above Tennessee and Indianapolis. And they are. When it boils down to it. But when it boils down to those moments, they don't look like it. Shit, Indianapolis, A1-0 since 2014. Yeah, but they don't. Like, they're not 12-5. You don't etch them in for 12-5 every year, even though. Well, no. I mean, they went 12-5 last year. But no. But if you think about it like this, when we came into the season right after.
[00:29:41] But did you ever see them as a viable AFC championship contender? Yes. You said it yourself. You were like, yo. No, no, you said it yourself. You were like, all they had to. No, no, no. If you let me finish the sentence. You were like, yo. All they needed to do was do this against Buffalo. He was wide open. And they would have beat Buffalo. So, like, you know what I mean? It's not like they went to the playoffs. It didn't happen. And it never happens. That's what I'm saying. Like, that if never happens. Even after the comeback game. Well, yeah. They were bad. They were a bad team.
[00:30:11] That was rebuilding. And now they're here. No. Like, the playoff game against the Chiefs when Mahomes' ankle was hurt. They didn't blitz them. They stayed in the same. That wasn't a good team. As if he was feeling healthy. They were in the second round of the playoffs. That was the year they beat the Chargers. And he was completely limited. I know. Even if you're not a good team. They were young and inconsistent. But that's. You don't need to be consistent to see that the guy is playing on one leg. He's playing on one leg. No, you don't. You don't. But I can't.
[00:30:40] You know, they lost that game. That's coaching. You know. But like, if Josh Allen was playing on one leg. Like, the Kansas City Chiefs. If Josh Allen was in the playoff game. And the whole second half he was limping to make stretch hands off. The Chiefs wouldn't take advantage of that. Next time you see Trevor Lawrence at Mike Linebacker. Let me know. You know what I'm saying? Like, but what I was going to say was, you know, coming into the season, right, week one. It was like, oh, don't be impressed with Jacksonville. They did that to Cleveland. And look at Cleveland right now.
[00:31:11] You know what I'm saying? Mike out here taking victory laps over the Browns. You know what I'm saying? Those go Deshaun Watson chants last night and all that. Like, I don't know. But you know what I mean? So we did that. Then they went to mile high. And then we were like, oh, there's Jacksonville. But then they did it to the team that a lot of people picked to win the Super Bowl. The Broncos did the same thing to them. So you know what I mean?
[00:31:37] So, like, when I look at Jacksonville, like, they got the weaponry. You know what I mean? And I think that this game is going to come down to Dax Hill against Parker Washington. I think that's going to be the matchup that determines how this game goes. Now, I'm going to pick Cincinnati to win. You know what I'm saying? But I don't feel good about it.
[00:32:00] Every time I jump on a Cincinnati train, it's always a delay. Something on the tracks. I just don't get to my destination. But I'm going to roll the dice again and go with it just because I believe in the consistency of healthy Cincinnati. Oh, shit. That's not good.
[00:32:30] Yeah, Mike. They're going to be calling him wacky tobacco after this. Healthy Cincinnati against, and like I said, Travis Hunter, probably a really good corner. I think he's a really good person. But Jamar Chase is a different animal. And it's going to be tough, especially if they go on there thinking like, oh, we're going to just have you follow him. And we're just going to live and die with the results. He's going to have eight catches for 190 yards.
[00:33:02] They got to put them on somebody, whereas I don't know. Like he ain't got the. Well, hold up. But first of all, let's pause. He ain't got the body to be trying to body up T Higgins. So, you know what I mean? He got to do something. Like, you know, I don't know. I don't know. But, but, you know, but also like, you know, I think that, you know, Jacksonville, if they can, if they can have mediocre success running the ball, like Cincinnati could be in trouble in this game.
[00:33:30] So, Mr. Logical, seven games, seven games. What is Sean McVay's record against the Philadelphia Eagles? Including playoffs. Including playoffs. Seven games. One and six. Ooh. And if we go back to last year, remember that? The Rams, if I remember correctly, they were up 19 in that game.
[00:33:59] And then Jordan Davis with the field goal block, you know. And, you know, like the Rams the last couple of years, they've had a murderous stretch against Philly. If we go back two years ago, Sunday night football, Saquon ran for, I think it was 255 or something along those lines against them. Then there was the playoff game in the snow where the Rams fell just short. And then last year, Jordan Davis with the field goal block. Something's got to go right for the Rams at some point. But here's something interesting that I found today.
[00:34:30] So, Aaron Donald, you know, people have been making fun of him all week because he got chokeslammed, you know, Undertaker style against the Broncos last week. He got bumped underneath and the guy pushed him over. Like, I could have pushed him over if he got tripped by another 300-pound person. So, I thought to myself. We need to calm down on the Aaron Donald, the ain't strong conversation. Well, I'm about to tell you why. So, like, I was like, wait.
[00:34:57] Like, because I had to go back and watch it a few times because, you know, I was like, don't nobody manhandle Aaron Donald like that. I don't care how long he's been out the game. So, according to NFL Next Gen Stats, Aaron Donald has a 33% pass rush win rate, which, by the way, is second in the NFL. So, that's after coming back and after the time off. Second in the NFL and pass rush win rate. Still getting triple teamed.
[00:35:26] Still getting triple teamed. But Aaron Donald does have a bad back. So, we'll see. The Rams are getting Puka back. You know, so the Eagles, you know, new offensive coordinator, first-time offensive coordinator. You know what offensive coordinators do a lot? They do simple things instead of being, like, instead of having variety. You know what I mean? They run on first down a lot. Yeah, not him. He came from Detroit, though. He ain't getting busy.
[00:35:55] He ain't getting busy. He got culture. He got RPOs on 39 with a minute 30 left in the fourth. That's what I'm saying. He got culture. But, like, the Eagles need to mix it up on first down because they're finding themselves in way too many 37s, way too many 39s. It's terrible.
[00:36:17] And going back to that game last year where the Rams had success was they were making Jalen Hurts run for his life and not dictating where he wanted to run. So, I think the Eagles might be at a point where two things are happening at the same time. You know, losing Jalen Phillips and losing N'Kobe Dean, to some degree, I ain't going to say it caught up to them, but you can see the effects.
[00:36:45] You know, because they had the loaded defense, which they're still loaded, but not as loaded. You know what I mean? And I didn't include Reed Blankenship for a reason before anybody goes there. Then, you know what I mean? But then on offense, you know what I mean? Yep. And Smitty is out. That is true. But Philly also, Jalen Hurts, has looked like shit for about 70% of the season so far.
[00:37:12] He just, but in the closing moments, he makes the play, so I can't hate it. But this is my message to the Philadelphia Eagles. Don't you throw another damn screen pass to Makai Lemon. Don't do it. Stop. Don't bring Phyllis to a fact fight. Don't do it. Throw the drag route. Just throw the drag route. If you want to get it to him quick, do the touch pass. If you want to get the ball into his hands, because he, which I think it still should count as a handoff.
[00:37:40] It doesn't, whatever you want to patch your stats. Have him come in motion and have Jalen get a little touch pass to him where he gets the ball in the space. Because if your idea of the screen pass, if the structure of that is to get the ball to him in space, then get him going, get him coming down the line, jet sweep style, jet pass, little touch pass. Let him turn up field. Let him run behind Lane Johnson and my lot of those guys.
[00:38:09] And not leave a game with two catches for negative six yards. It's like, those are the kind of stats that could really, because listen, my son's high school team shot, I got shot out every week last night with senior night. His stats are online. The team stats for all these teams are online. So, for a whole week, if you have a good game, you'll look at it. You'll screenshot it. You'll share the link with your friends and your family.
[00:38:36] But if you leave a game with three catches for negative two yards, that's a whole week as an NFL player. You dream to get to the NFL and you're making zero impact. Yeah, Philly's offensive coordinator, the play calling, the play calling's ass. And I think it lends to the conversation I had earlier about their defense. Saquon might be past that 2,000-yard season.
[00:39:06] You might not sniff 45% of that, 50% of that ever again. Well, yeah, not if they don't give him the ball. I mean, against the Bears the other day, he was 15 rushes for 82 yards. So, it's not like he's washed. He had a couple of big runs. A couple of runs came back. But it's not the same. Because a couple of those big runs, like you think about the big run he had against the Rams a couple of years ago in that 2,000-yard season when he hit the edge.
[00:39:35] Malata got the block. Same thing with the Washington game with Jordan Malata chasing down the end zone, giggling and shit when he's all biked up. He broke those. He broke those. Once he got to the second level and he turned the ball straight up, he was out. I don't think he has a run like that since without a hold. I don't think he's had a run like that since the 2,000-yard season, which is a lot. And I get that it's a lot, that 2,000 yards.
[00:40:05] But those kind of like the run that Jalen Warren had that got down to the one and they called the Phantom Hold on DK last Sunday. Saquon hasn't had one of those kind of runs since probably that Rams game. Well, I think like Philly reminds me a lot of Kansas City last year. You know what I mean? It's like I see the requisite things that you need to be successful. You're just not executing. You know?
[00:40:34] And then the other part of that is Philadelphia's defense. Not that it's been bad, but they haven't even forced a turnover this season. You know, not a one. Not a fumble. Not a one. You know what I mean? Rams 24-16. That's what you're going with? Yeah. At Philly, I'm going to go Philly 24-23 just because it's Philly.
[00:41:04] All right. So let's go to the AFC East. Gut check, right? So the Patriots going up into Highmark Stadium, which I believe is still in Orchard Park. It might be in actual Buffalo proper. But the point being, they're playing the Bills this week. You know, it's a division game. So I expect a tight game between these two teams. Now, this is where it gets real nasty, Mr. Logical.
[00:41:34] Let's hear it. The Patriots haven't scored 20 points in a game yet. It gets nastier. The New England Patriots have had 30 possessions this season. 30 possessions. They have scored 29 total points. 29 points in 30 possessions.
[00:41:56] You know, so Buffalo, on the other hand, has had 32 possessions and scored 101 points. But Patriots, there's good news. Buffalo still sucks against the run. So Travion Henderson, it's time to break one or two. You know, now Drake May, I think Drake May is going through his – it's just something in his head, right?
[00:42:25] Because – and I'm not – you know, I mean, this is a guy that was in the MVP race last year. Finished second, actually. You know what I mean? And you go back to Carson Wentz where he had the MVP-type season and he was never the same. But there was an injury there. Drake May is not hurt. And I don't want to hear about these cliches. I don't want to hear a Super Bowl hangover. You don't say a Super Bowl hangover is when you – I don't want to.
[00:42:52] Super Bowl hangover is when you come out week one and Seattle bust your ass. Super Bowl hangover is when you're in Korea. They get a day off so you can drink for the Super Bowl. That's the only Super Bowl hangover right now. Respond. Yeah, you drink at 10 o'clock and you want to watch the football. It's legit. I expect the Patriots to respond. You expect them to respond? They're not going to win. That's clear that up. But they're going to respond.
[00:43:20] If Buffalo would have beaten the Chargers 31-10, 31-14, been in control, no turnovers, I would give New England a chance for the proverbial upset because they're the down team versus the team that's kind of just doing their thing. Matt Flintstone with his no-shoe-wearing ass. Yeah. I mean, listen, they say it works. If you like it, I love it.
[00:43:51] But the fact that Buffalo had a bad game, they have bad tape, they have coachable moments, I don't think that translates two weeks in a row. And we talk about that, like I said, once again, I'm going to shout out to my – you know, my son's football team. They played a tough team and they won by one on a failed two-point conversion. Mm-hmm. Gave up a lot of points, scored a lot of points, a lot of yards, a lot of back and forth.
[00:44:20] Well, when you win, you know, you think you go back to the drawing board. And then they got hit the same way the next week by another team. Couldn't stop the inside zone run, wouldn't collapse down, linebackers getting watched out by guards. So when they went into the next team that had, like – that ran the ball a lot, they made the adjustments. It's like, oh, made these adjustments. And then in those adjustments, you know, they only gave up seven points.
[00:44:49] So they gave up, you know, 42 points one week, ran it and scored 43. And then they gave up 38 points the following week. Came out to that seven points last week, seven points this week. So you need a little ass kicking, a little rude awakening that kind of gets you to reengage. And then with a division opponent coming in, that gets you to lock in. Like, this is for the division. We can't get behind anybody in the division.
[00:45:13] And I think Buffalo is going to be steadfast on ensuring that the Sewell hangover, you know, the proverbial hangover that you don't like to really call it, that it continues back up to Foxborough or back down to Foxborough from upstate New York. So I'm going 2017 Buffalo. And for those of you out there, I know y'all love the SEC and everything. This Virginia Tech pit game, you know what I'm saying? Man, you need to cut it on if you ain't watching it.
[00:45:41] This game has been a great game so far. So I'm guessing you're taking Buffalo to win as well? Yes, I'm taking Buffalo to win. And until – I think New England without A.J. Brown and they ship off Keon Boutte, I think they are a lesser offensive threat than they were last year, which is not a good position to be in. Considering Vrabel, I don't know. I think they have Josh McDaniels as an offensive coordinator.
[00:46:10] I mean, does he really give you anything that's worth being scared of? I mean, could you not scheme against – if you're a mid-level defensive coordinator, I think you could scheme against a Josh McDaniels offensive-led team. Well, like one piece of good news for New England is that I don't know if Christian Benford's going to go. So, you know, he left the game last week with a toe, and you know those things can be funny. So, you know, we'll see. We'll see.
[00:46:41] Yeah, but if you can't do a receiver, any corner can do their job. So the Texans need a win. They started 0-3 last year. Somehow ended up with double-digit wins. You know who was a big part of that? Dallas. Davis Mills. It might be time to have a conversation. And I'm not – look, look, I like C.J. Stroud, right? I like C.J. Stroud.
[00:47:10] But, you know what I'm saying, you can only keep running into the wall and bounce off of the shit until you realize you should go around the wall, right? Okay, Nico Collins is back. Mike's upset about it. You know what I'm saying, because Dallas secondary has beat the hell up. You know, Jalen Thompson, like everybody's hurt just about. You know, now they might need to move De'Ron Bland, you know, like just move him around. The linebacker. Get more Caleb Downs going.
[00:47:40] But the thing about Houston that's interesting to me is that when I look at Houston at times this year, I see the upgrade that David Montgomery gives them. But he only averages 3.6 yards a carry. You know, which is fifth first, by the way. It's not a threat of the pass. It all has to work in units. Now it has to work in concert. Yeah, because now C.J. Stroud has been sacked 10 times on the season.
[00:48:08] The third most pressures in the league with 52. So, like, 52 pressures in three games. 52 pressures in three games. That's 17 a game, yeah. Yeah. This is nuts. 60 offensive plays? This is nuts. You know what I mean? So, what are you doing, 30, 35 passes on 50% of his dropbacks? He's getting pressure. So, like. It's ridiculous.
[00:48:35] I don't get it because I came into the season real high on Houston's secondary. And they've done nothing to earn what I was saying about them. They have a chance this weekend. You're going up against one of the best wide receiver duos in the league. Now's the time to earn your paycheck. So, like. Look. I'm going to take the Texans to win.
[00:49:03] But it's only because I can't imagine them at 0-4. It has nothing to do with football. Like. I just can't imagine this team at 0-4. But it's kind of funny. I was thinking about this. Dallas at 1-3 makes more sense. Yeah. Because, I mean. Like. Like. Like. Yeah. Because of the defense. At least with Dallas, I can go. They can't stop anybody. Like. Houston can at least play defense. I guess. I can book. I can. I can say right now. An offensive scenario.
[00:49:34] That. That realistically. You know. Come to fruition. I can go. Dak. Dak. 35 completion. 30. 32 completions. 310 yards. Three touchdowns and a pick. One to Pickens. Two to. One to Ferguson. One to CeeDee Lamb. All I know is. I can. I can. I can call that in my head.
[00:50:01] I can get Turpin on a long return. I can see what I'm going to get from Dallas. I know their defense is going to give up stuff. But I think what they provide you up front. With Kenny Clark. Mitchell. The young guy. Barnum. Anytime you got a dude out there playing with no gloves. No sleeves. Just tape on his fingers. Growing up mid. In the middle of the play. That dude's a football player. People think of all. He's weak. He's out of shape. Like no.
[00:50:31] That's a guy who's like. Riled up. Ready to go. So I think. I think Dallas. I think Houston goes on for. Hey. All I know it is. Because Dallas. I think Dallas knows. Third and seven. I have. Three. Viable threats. To convert this first down. And I have a quarterback. That can work through all three possessions. Progressions. And back.
[00:51:00] Hey. All I know is. I just trust what they give you. What do you trust with Houston? All I know is. Dallas. I will say. Once Dallas gets to the red zone. They better call time out. Shit. They better call time out. You talk about that Baltimore-Dallas thing. It's just. It's the same thing. No. I think. I think. I think Houston brings. They bring the pressure. And you know. Yes. Dak will get his yards. But Dak's also going to. Force throws.
[00:51:30] Dak is also going to be. On the run. And not comfortable. Dak doesn't turn the ball. Dak doesn't turn the ball over a lot. Dak is. I think. What good defense they played? I think Baltimore. Like Washington. Like Washington probably has the worst pass defense in the league. The Ravens secondary is just as bad as Dallas outside of Kyle Hamilton. The Giants probably has the worst after Washington. Houston. Yeah. But that doesn't.
[00:52:00] That doesn't diminish how he can orchestrate that. No it doesn't. But it's not like he played against Denver. San Francisco. And played Kansas City. Why is Houston. What. Who has CJ Stroud played against. And that. Marks them as 0 and 3. It just happens when you don't have command of your offense. When you have command of the offense. I think that position is more of a point. To be fair. You put up 31 against the line. The Lions might be the worst.
[00:52:29] No to be fair. Houston opened up with Buffalo and Cincinnati back to back. You know what I mean. Like we talked about the Chargers right. How you looked at their schedule. And you were like. L. L. L. No no no no. I had. I had two wins. No no. But I'm just saying. When they got to that portion of the schedule. You're like L. That's what Houston. L is all L. Houston had the same schedule. They just started with those two teams. You know what I mean. Like that's it. Like if Houston would have played. I had. I had Houston.
[00:52:57] If Houston played Cincinnati week 4. And played. I had 2 on 1. Buffalo week 9. They might not be 0 and 3. Realistically. I had Houston preseason 2 on 1 right now. Winning at Dallas. And then win at Tennessee. 4 on 1 up into Jacksonville. So that's. That's what I was thinking. But if you aren't going to give me anything. That I can really. I just figured. If you're going to make a bet.
[00:53:25] I can bet that Dallas. Dak. CD. Ferguson. Devontae Williams. And George Pickens. Are going to get me points. I don't know how many. I don't know how many points. The secondary. Dallas is going to give up. Because they had a lot of holes. Against Washington. They had. You know. Fortune to get a couple calls. Also fortunate. That. That. Unfortunately. Jay Daniels went down. But it's like. I know with Dallas. I'm going to get.
[00:53:55] Big play shots. I'm going to get. Big throws. In timely manners. Because he. Back to a couple of passes. What did I say about Dallas last. What did I say about Dallas last season? You said Washington's. Secondaries. Wasn't good. But in the same sense. You don't. If you're there. As a defensive player. Like Sandstrow. Was up the sideline. With CeeDee Lamb. That put that ball. Right over the helmet. Into the hands of CeeDee Lamb. I think.
[00:54:25] If he can make that happen. Sandstrow is the lowest rated corner. On pro football focus. Even with his rating. His rating is irrelevant. In regards to the play. His positioning. On that particular play. That ball shouldn't have gotten in. It shouldn't have gotten in. Like it just was a perfectly placed pass. Granted. He's not going to make all those passes. But the fact that. I think they can get 21 points. On drives. Where he makes. One of those passes. Three times. That's why.
[00:54:55] Like I can rest on that. I don't know where CeeDee Stroud. And the Houston Texans. Get their points. All right. So give me a percentage. You keep. You keep sitting. 64. 36. Dallas wins. Like I said. Like I said last year. Dallas is the new Cincinnati. Give me a percentage. What percentage does. For the Chargers. Beating the Seahawks. And avoiding 0 and 4. It has.
[00:55:24] It has that. I feel like. It has to happen. But it ain't gonna. I know it sounds stupid. And I mean that's stupid. But I know it sounds like repetitive. Because you just said it. But in the same sense. It's like. Seattle just lost. With Sam Darnold. They gave up 33 points. See. But my thought on that. Is your thought on Buffalo. Like. Like. My thought on that. Is your thought on Buffalo.
[00:55:52] Seattle's coming off of that loss. Gave up. Well. 26 points. Because there was a pick. Six involved. You know what I mean. But. To Washington. And a backup quarterback. That defense is gonna be a buzzsaw. And they playing up there. Like. You know what I'm saying. This ain't down in Cali. This is up there. I think the wheels come off. I'm gonna go over here to the 12. Yeah. I think the wheels fall off.
[00:56:21] I think we're looking at like a 34 to 7. Or something like that. I think the wheels fall off. Oh. You're looking at. You're looking at a 187. You're looking at a homicide. It's on live TV. Yes. People just. Shooting the charges from the stands. I wish we had a bigger platform. So Justin Herbert would hear me say the things that I want to say about him. But you know what I mean. Say it right now. We can tag him. No. That's all good. Because I want to talk about London for a second. You know what I'm saying. The commanders.
[00:56:49] Going over to play the Indianapolis Colts. I was fully prepared to pick Washington to win this game yesterday. You know what I mean. Like I was sitting there. I was like this game is going to be reset the scoreboard. Pinball up and down the field. Washington can't stop the pass. People will say this. I'm going to say it right back. Yeah. I was like Washington can't stop the pass. The Colts can't stop anything. You know what I mean. And then it's like Terry McLaurin hamstring.
[00:57:19] Like oh word. Like word. That's what we doing. It's not a bad thing for a Mariota style quarterback. I don't know. Like so look. This is what I got for you though. Let me get this off. This is what I got for you. So both teams coming off their first win. Washington blitzes the second most in the league outside of Minnesota. Which I don't know works is going to work in this particular game.
[00:57:47] Because Daniel Jones tends to play well against Washington. And he's mobile enough to avoid that. Now Sonny Stiles. You know NFC player of the week. This is where the rubber meets the road. Jonathan Taylor hasn't had a hundred game. A hundred yard game yet. So this is the thing that I was talking about in number form. The Colts are worst in total defense. They give up 417 yards per game.
[00:58:16] They give up 30 points per game. Washington gives up 30 points per game. And the highest passer rating to opposing quarterbacks. Man come on now. The only thing that I'm giving Washington a chance for. Is the Colts don't force turnovers. What's the overhand? Let's see. Let's see. Let's see. Let's see. Let's get the overhand. But what you thinking about this game?
[00:58:45] What you thinking about this game? What you thinking about this game? So backup quarterbacks tend to have their moment. Case Keenum. Nick Foles. Mariota. Mariota. Cooper Rush that year when he had like those four games for Dallas. Where he won all those games. But eventually it kind of runs out. Mariota. And we talked about this with Lamar.
[00:59:16] If you have a mobile quarterback that moves. It's right-handed. Moves around. Get a backup that kind of does the same thing. I think Atlanta is probably sitting pretty good with two left-handed quarterbacks. They're both. They don't really have super strong arms. They're both throwing intermediate paths. I think that's a good look. So Washington having Mariota. And you're saying McLaurin's not in there. Mariota's type of quarterback that.
[00:59:43] He doesn't always pull the trigger on that first read. Even if it's McLaurin. Just because he's a backup. And he's been a backup for so long. He'll take that. That double look. That. And then roll. That's why your third and fourth swing receiver. Maybe a tight end. Gets that catch on third and eight. And gets to 12 or 13 yards. Because Mariota extends the play. Because it's like, listen.
[01:00:13] I'm trying. Like, I'm not making the same. Oh. This pick game's legit. I told you. This game is fire. Like, all y'all SEC fans missing out. First time two 4-0 teams on prime time in a major conference have been ranked. Just neither here nor there. So, I like what Washington does. I know you're a fan and you're probably a little bit skeptical. I'm going to pick Indy. Just because I think when it.
[01:00:42] I think the game would be closer. I think each quarterback kind of plays the same way. Get out of pocket. Can make plays. I just trust. The basic stretch. Toss. Hand off. Pistol. Shotgun. Eye formation. Single back. Whatever it is. That hand off to Jonathan Taylor. I think. Is going to be more effective than whatever. Watch them pull out. In their standard. Run game. I think that's going to be the difference.
[01:01:12] 23-17. But I think that would be the difference. I think missing. Oh, the over under is 47 and a half, by the way. I think missing Alex Pierce, you know, is a big deal. But it's against Washington. You know, and I think Keenan Allen is all reliable in that situation. Like third down and five. He'll get the first down. He'll go across the middle. Take the hit. But Cosme's out on the offensive line. Nick Cross is out.
[01:01:42] Add in Terry's hamstring. I'm going Colts by three still. Give me the Cardinals over the Giants. Oh, I didn't. I missed that one. Give me Cardinals over the Giants. You know what I mean? I know we could blame the weather for how bad the Giants offense looked last week. But nah, they're just bad. You know what I mean? Now, the Cardinals have the whole flying across.
[01:02:09] You know, we always talk about coming from West Coast to East Coast. They're 11 and 23, you know, in their last 34 coming across the country. Yeah, but they've kind of sucked for a long time. But they've kind of sucked along the way. But you got Jacoby Brissett who's been lighting it up. Now, here's the question. Now, of course, Brian Burns is out too. So that makes his life a little bit easier. But here's the question. I don't know when McCarthy's playing. That's what I was about to ask you.
[01:02:37] At what point, like, do we see him in the next three weeks? Oh, absolutely. Do we see him Sunday? Hey, you – I know Jameis gave that inspiring post-press conference. We did it for Jackson Dart. We got 12. That's six times two. Yeah, that's cute, dog. You were number one overall pick in the NFL draft. You should still be able to, like –
[01:03:05] Like, you should be better than – Like, we should be getting – Oh, those fighting words. See? Fighting words. This is why we don't extend – You know what? I'm going to keep it authentic because I like Brock Purdy. But if Rebs come out here reckless, just how about me when y'all are 8-9? No, I'm messing with you. I'll let you know, though. I'll let you know when it happens. Yeah. McCarthy –
[01:03:35] I got a Giants fan in my office. Because he's from D.C. He's ironic. He's a Giants fan. But I was like, why did you make that trade? I guess because it's early enough in the year where you don't want to throw in the towel. But it's like you made this trade for a guy that if he – Say McCarthy has an adequate year. We'll start him week five. Say Jameis starts this week.
[01:04:04] He starts week five. So that gives him five through 18. Okay. And it gives him, what, 13 games? And he has an adequate season. 2,900 yards. 21 touchdowns. Six or seven picks. We'll call it 21 touchdowns. Nine picks. And then Jackson Darts coming back, like, from a September surgery.
[01:04:34] So theoretically, he should be ready to move March, April timeframe. You should probably be able to, like, get him in – you know, definitely by July he's throwing the ball and moving around. What do you do when you have two young quarterbacks a year apart in draft status? I didn't understand the move. I would have rather gotten, like, an old vet. That's what I was thinking about.
[01:05:02] Or just kind of just ride it out with Jameis. Age thing. Yeah. Okay. So, Soldier Field. Apparently, the Bears are trying to figure out who their starter is going to be. If it's going to be Keenum or Bajent. But the New Jersey Jetsropolitans are coming in. You know what I mean? Still without an interception. You know, so can the Jets win third down? They have to keep the drives alive.
[01:05:32] Not if they don't – I think interception is a part of, like, it has to be part of the scheme. You have to do something to create confusion with the quarterback to make him put the ball in the space. But it's crazy because it's not like they have a bad defense. Like, they get pressure on the quarterback and everything. But something's missing because we talk about the meatball subs that Tom Brady alluded to.
[01:06:02] I know they don't have good corners. That's number one. Yeah. So, it's like it has to be something where you're not putting guys in a position to create turnovers. Either you're not teaching it or you're not putting in a position. Because turnovers happen so – especially interceptions. Tip passes. We saw it last night on the review when Jack Sawyer from Ohio State tipped a pass from Deshaun Watson. And it was intercepted. But they called a pass interference. But they reviewed it.
[01:06:32] So, even that, it happens. It happens, you know, so often that it's just weird that the Jets – pardon me – hadn't been able to capitalize on that. So, I think that leads to coaching. That leads to preparation. And that's why I tend to pick against them because I just feel like you're not prepared to even – I think you're prepared to play football.
[01:06:58] But you're not prepared to, like, install that twist, that stunt, that drop in the D and in the coverage. Like T.J. Edwards against Jalen Hurst last week. Granted, he was listening in the huddle. Mm-hmm. But he dropped in the coverage, got the interception. I just feel like it was a couple of times that game where he did that. Mm-hmm.
[01:07:52] Chris Allen is going to throw anything that's going to confuse Frank Reich. It's just going to be an execution thing because there's no Brees Hall, you know, no Adonai Mitchell, A.D. Mitchell. You know, Mason Taylor's out. Like, the Jets are hurting. You know what I mean? But I think that Braylon Allen can carry the load for a game or two. I think that the Bears are more opportunistic than good.
[01:08:20] So, there's always a high variance with a defense like that. Yeah. So, there's always a variance with that. So, as long as – I think they're surgical offensively, though. They are. But I'm going with Jets. Mason calls up, plays like he's playing with like a video game. Because Luther Burton was so open. It was like he was running – did you drop it?
[01:08:50] He caught it. He was running routes where it was like everybody's going from left to right, and I'm bringing somebody underneath right to left. That's the first read. Even though he has to get all the way across the formation, that's the read that's going to be open because this route is going to pull, this guy, whatever. I just felt like he was doing that a lot. You know what I mean? Yeah, I think that – Diligence over here in Blacksburg.
[01:09:19] But, yeah, I just feel like – I think that – I think the offensive coordination, execution, and just confidence of the Bears is going to outshine whatever you – I don't – Is there – I don't think there's a confident group on the Jets. I don't think – Well, I think – I think Gino's confident. The defensive line believes they can stop. No, I think Gino's confident. I think the defensive line's confident. I think Garrett Wilson is confident.
[01:09:53] I don't believe it. I don't believe it. I mean, if you – I mean, if you truly look at it, right? If that was the case, if that was the case, Aaron Glenn would have called a timeout with 57 seconds left against Green Bay. That has nothing to do with what I said. You're talking about the coach. I'm talking about the players. Yeah, but that's what I'm saying. We know Aaron Glenn isn't a good coach. But that's the thing. The confidence in –
[01:10:19] The confidence of the players is executed on – Like, it's like exasperated on the field. So if he felt like I had an advantage somewhere on this, he would have called a timeout that game because Green Bay. The players would have been calling for a timeout. It would have been something that said, let me get the ball back. But the fact that he went to the podium and said he was going to pin us deep
[01:10:47] is evident that there's not a lot of continuity and confidence and structure in what they do. That's – I wouldn't be surprised. I wouldn't be surprised if Aaron Glenn got fired around – The next quarterback for the Jets got in the game. Like, I wouldn't be surprised if he got fired around week eight and Reich was the interim the rest of the season. And I think they would look completely different.
[01:11:16] But they are three and seven in one score of games under him. You know, to include the game against the straight last week. Mike just had a question. Huh? What was it? Should Glenn – No, he's saying that Aaron Glenn's a second-year head coach that made it to the state. And you know what? But he's talking about the timeout. But the other point of that – No, no, no. The other point of that is we talk about this all the time. Like, we talk about analytics. We talk about how –
[01:11:46] You talk about how there's too many people with headsets. So – Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, there's supposed to be somebody that tells Aaron Glenn X, Y, Z, and Aaron Glenn is like, no, we're doing this. Is Andy Reid. They are. Sean Payton. Shanahan. Ben Johnson. Sirianni. Liam Duvall. Hells. Stefanski.
[01:12:16] Munkin. I can name any coach in the NFL that when they made that tackle on third down and made it fourth and five from, like, the 50-yard line, every single coach with two timeouts – with two timeouts – They're coming after that punt. They're coming after that punt. You don't even have to come after the punt. Just call the timeout. Now, more than likely in the rain, the likelihood –
[01:12:45] I think a good NFL punter probably puts, like, seven punts inside the five in a year, and he was probably an all-pro. So for you to expect that guy to do that week two in this situation, even if he did that, you still have one timeout to where you're going to draw a play to get you seven or eight yards maybe, give you some space, call a timeout. Now you have roughly after that play 43, 44 seconds to get to the 40
[01:13:16] for a 57-yard field goal. Every other coach in the NFL is doing that. The reason that Jets didn't do that is because they're not wired to win. They're not built to win, hence why they don't have any interceptions, because they don't do anything to create winning scenarios for their team. There's no – Xavier Watts for the Falcons has, like, five picks. He's in his second year.
[01:13:45] He has five picks. He has five more interceptions as an individual second-year safety than the entire Jets organization over the last 20 games. That says it all. Jalen Daniels making his first start. I'm sorry, Jalen Daniels. They're all named Jalen. Jalen, Jalen, Jalen.
[01:14:15] Jalen's in Jalen. Yeah. You know, but yeah, the Packers are now one in seven since the Micah Parsons injury. That win is against the Jets. I don't know who's going to win this game. Like, the Packers are so bad that they signed three offensive linemen this week. Now, normally you might hear a team bring in a lineman for a tryout. You know what I mean? Like, you know, let's just get these guys in here and try them out.
[01:14:44] And then whoever we like best, we're going to bring to the team. No, they were like, if you show up, you own the team. All right, check it out. Now, all these dudes on TikTok have been getting at me. I'm going to give them a layup. I'm not always right.
[01:15:06] What record did I have for Green Bay from weeks one to five? What record did this guy give them? Two and three. Five and 0. Oh, did you? I had a 5-0. I'm just looking at it now. It's comical to see. But I had them five. I had them beat Minnesota. Minnesota and the Jets and Atlanta because I felt like Atlanta still was going to be
[01:15:34] starting a backup quarterback. I gave them this game against Tampa Bay just because I wasn't sure about Todd Bowles and his situation. And then Chicago, I just figured like Chicago. I think I had Chicago. Or no, no, like something's got to give. And that's why I had them. But the Green Bay Packers, I watching that Falcons game because we did the show and I was watching the game and I had it on mute.
[01:16:04] And I was just looking at the TV like this looks like a team that didn't practice. They look like a team that whatever the scheme was, everybody got different parts of it and not the totality of it because they looked completely out of sync. They looked out of sync offensively. Like the fourth down play with Jordan Love where he threw it to the back pylon. Oh, this boy is just out here just giving the ball away.
[01:16:36] Looks like it's going to win this one, though. What do you think Jordan Love's completion percentage is? 56.5. 52. 52%. And that's with Matt Golden, you know, looking like he was worthy of that first round pick that they used. That's what I was thinking when he was catching those passes last week. I'm like, okay, that's your guy. So that's nuts. You know, but of course, Jaden reads out for the season. So, you know, unfortunately.
[01:17:05] So this is the question. I don't give a fuck who wins this game. Is Todd Bowles going to be the coach of the Buccaneers after next week? Tampa Bay. I mean. Because I'm surprised he's still there. We have a lot of these conversations about coaches and their buyouts and everything else.
[01:17:34] Because they play Thursday night football against Dallas coming up. Well, if they. I don't know. I don't know, man. Like, Tampa Bay doesn't distract me off of memory as an organization that moves off of coaches midseason.
[01:17:58] I think the last bad move that kind of worked out for them was when they got rid of Dungy and brought in Gruden. And then he wanted to go all. I still don't really recall them like being. And I don't recall them making coaching decisions the way like the Raiders or Tennessee or even a Jets dude. Oh, no, he didn't get out. He didn't get out. That's the safety. It has to be. Sorry.
[01:18:28] I'm excited. That's the safety. He didn't get out. Give me. Give me. I'll just take the Packers. Give me the Ravens over Tennessee. I'll take Tennessee. I'm going to take Tennessee. Give me the Ravens over Tennessee. We don't got to get into that. That's going to be my upset. I'm going to take Tennessee. That's my upset. Let's go with it. Word. All right. Here's my next question. Are the Dolphins going to score 13 points against Minnesota this weekend?
[01:19:00] You know, no A-chan out for the season. You know, Kyler Murray back from his injury last week. So, here we go with another week, but probably no Justin Jefferson. So, one, are the Dolphins going to score 13? Two, are the Dolphins going to cover – let's see what this number is. What do you think the number is?
[01:19:30] I feel like it's disrespectful because you went to searches so adamantly. I'm going to say something like nine. That is hilarious. Let's see what I can get here. Ten and a half. That was right. That was ten and a half. I knew it was going to be so ridiculous because you saw it somewhere. No, I just thought about it.
[01:19:59] Like, just now, I was just literally like, it's got to be ten. Ten and a half in the NFL game? You got the ten and the hook. Disrespectful. We're in the game. Disrespectful. But the game is – So, now I want to know. Now I want to know. What do you think the Ravens-Titans spread is? Eight and a half. Eleven and a half. Jesus Christ. That's going to be an upset of the year.
[01:20:29] There you go. I think the Titans spread against Philly was like 11. Yeah. Oh, by the way, I brought up how the Patriots hadn't scored 20 points this year. Tennessee's averaging 12.3 points per game. Yeah. And I understand the whole narrative. Like, we don't have to really dig into it. Like, give them time. Give them time. Give them time. And I'm pretty sure we're going to talk some how it's football and some of the guys who are getting at me on TikTok. And I hit them back with the facts. And no one's really replied yet.
[01:20:58] But, I mean, I think teams get enamored with the idea of taking the quarterback early in the first round. And feel like if you miss on a quarterback. But if we think about it, if we go back, let's say 15 years, 2011. Cam got drafted that year, right? That was Cam around that time. So, we got different things.
[01:21:28] And that time frame, 2010-11. You got Cam Newton, not Cam Ward. Andrew Luck. And that was probably it as far as number one draft pick quarterbacks that came from less than favorable college programs.
[01:21:56] Like, I don't think anybody in Auburn got drafted that year. Not many of them played a lot of time in NFL. So, for him to take that team to the national championship. And Stanford isn't, like, known for, like, producing quarterbacks. You got Jim Plunkett, John Elway, Andrew Luck. I could be wrong if you want to insert another name there. But I think that's probably your top three. So, you get these guys. Ashton Daniels. Cut it out. So, hey.
[01:22:30] Stay on your feet. Stay on your feet, baby. Stay on your feet. Stay on your feet. Stay in bounds. Oh, sorry. I'm getting excited. So, what do you think the spread? I mean, not the spread. What do you think the over-under in Detroit Carolina is? I think Nick Fairley might have been on that team, Rez. I don't think. I don't. Maybe he came later. But I don't think he got that many NFL stats. No. No, but I was just asking. Yeah. I think he was on that team.
[01:23:01] But, yeah. What's the over-under on that Carolina Lions game, you think? Over-under or? Yeah, the over-under. 49 and a half. 50 and a half. So, Carolina's going to need 32 to win this game because Detroit has scored 31 in all three of their games this season. So, 50 and a half is the over-under? Yeah.
[01:23:31] And, with that being said. 14 that scored a constant winning score. And, with that being said, both of Carolina's starting corners are out. So, no J.C. Horn. No Mike Jackson. So, that enters Will Lee into the game. You know, who's been getting torched up. He's a rookie out of A&M. He's been getting torched up all year. You know, look. Detroit literally averages 31 points a game.
[01:23:58] They give up 31.7 points a game. So, this game is going to be crazy. I think it's going to come down to if Carolina can run the ball. Well, I think Carolina's going to have to run the ball, you know, to soften it up just a little bit. Keep Detroit off balance. I think Detroit is just going to show up and score at least 28. So, that's why I'm picking them.
[01:24:28] So, Detroit. I'll take it. That's what I had going into with my preseason rankings. Let me get my cords caught up here on my feet. I'm saying, Ted Aroa McMillan, this is the time. This is the time. We got to see if Bryce Young can put together those kind of games.
[01:24:55] Because I imagine that the C.J. Stroud contract is kind of predicated on the Bryce Young contract. And I know that Carolina's probably where you're giving him the contract. Because he doesn't put up big numbers consistently. He's been playing well so far. Yeah, but you know. He's the leading passer in the league right now. We talk about his 300-yard games and just kind of make it plays from the pocket. So, there's always something. But Jameer Gibbs is your Swiss Army knife.
[01:25:24] He's your new McCaffrey. He's the, you know, he's the, what, like I said, what Reggie Bush could have been if the league was designed around the way they played it. Up until last night, Bryce Young was the lead leader in passing until Aaron Rodgers played an extra game. And I know you're surprised to hear that Aaron Rodgers leads the league in passing. I am surprised.
[01:25:55] So, listen. I watched Bryce Young. I just think he had a good game against, first of all, leading the league in passing at the three, four games is too early. Give me a quarter of a year. If he was last in the league, you would have said that. Well, that's different. If he was last, it's because he's having a terrible year. But, like, having 601 yards or 700 yards after a few games because you had one game against one match. He has 939 yards.
[01:26:23] He probably has 345 against Atlanta. Well, if you're mapping, that's 313 yards per game. How much did he have against Atlanta? You can have one really, really, really good game. Yeah, but you're still going to have other 300-yard games or at least 280. They lost by 22 points. Week 1. Okay. I'm going to repeat what I said to you earlier.
[01:26:52] When Bryce Young lines up at Mike Linebacker, let me know. I get it. But they were in a shootout game. They scored 37 points. It's not like he's through for 300 and scored... They threw the ball a lot because they were down a lot the entire game. It happens. They were not down a lot the entire game. It was 31 to 24 at halftime. They gave him 31 points at halftime. That's a shootout.
[01:27:20] Yes, and he doesn't play defense. I'm not saying he has to play defense. I'm just saying... Okay. Okay, look. Mike's arguing about you whether you watch football on Sundays. I know you're going to be watching football on Monday because we are going to the House of Horrors. It is the Steve Gleason Bowl. And tell Mike, I watched Dak and I watched Dallas blow a game with seven seconds left in the game.
[01:27:50] How about that? Want to come on my show? Talk shit to me? I got you. You ain't got a mic. I can say whatever I want. Yeah, they should have kicked the ball. Hey, Mike got a mic now. Broke some time. Mike got a mic now. But you know what's funny? He got to talk with his old show. And I'll holler at him there. You know what's crazy about this game? You know what's crazy about this game? I know that... I know Michael Penix just came back. But you know me. I got to say the stat. You know what I mean?
[01:28:18] So, the Saints on the season. Negative four turnover margin. The Falcons, negative six. Now, of course, Michael Penix didn't have a lot to do with that. You know what I mean? So, here we are. Steve Gleason Bowl. 20-year anniversary. The House of Horrors is going to be rocking. Raph, are y'all going to survive? Absolutely.
[01:28:47] Like I said, the turnover stats, the yardage stats. Like, the first month. And I've been proponent of this forever. Even with college football. That first month. Unless the wheels are falling off. Temper your extrapolation of that. Of those numbers. If you're doing terrible, you're probably not going to get that much better.
[01:29:15] Because this is a time where, like, all your training camp stuff should be implemented. Most of your players are as healthy as they're going to be all year long. There's no real tape for your team of this season. So, that first quarter of the season. Even though it's 17 games. I'm going to call it your first four games. Is it going to be like, you rolled the ball out there. We saw what happened.
[01:29:41] As we get to about mid-October through November. That's going to really be indicative. Like, are you carrying this over? Because we've seen plenty of teams start 0-2, 0-3. Turn it around when they get this shit in line. Or teams start 4-0, 3-1. Like, the Raiders are starting 3-0. They can be 3-3. And, like, it wouldn't surprise anyone. Because now we've got a little film. We've got a little time. We've got some injuries.
[01:30:10] Are you making adjustments? Is your coach over his skis? Tampa Bay. Where you start firing guys. Guys getting benched. It's a lot of things that happen between weeks 4, 5, and 6. So, I don't put a lot into the stats of the first few weeks. The thing that Atlanta does have in this matchup is all of the offensive weapons are there and healthy.
[01:30:36] And they are almost force-fed the ball versus, like, other teams we talk about. Where it's, like, Drake London and B. John Robinson have three games where they both have over 150 yards. And I guess this never happened. Like, in the history for, like, a running back and a wide receiver to have that many yards in the same game. But the game plan is to...
[01:31:05] Drake London's not going to take the top off. But what he does have is advantage of 6'4", 6'5", former basketball player. Height and weight. Shout out to Rez. And then B. John is just... Just B. John in space. I'm not sure that New Orleans can rest on that. They have the home field advantage. They have the nostalgia. We have all the highlights. Steve Leeson Bowl. You know, someone who suffered with ALS. They have all of that.
[01:31:34] But on the field is, like, okay, now this is game 4. Are you fluky? Was that Detroit game? Like, how you really played? Was that the Baltimore game? Was that how you played? Last week? Like, who are you as a football team? So I think, interestingly enough, what I trust the most in this game is Atlanta's defense.
[01:32:02] You know, we were both doom and gloom, right? No James Pierce. No Jalen Walker. No Jalen Walker. Still getting that pass rush. They still getting through. I didn't think the pass rush would be this effective. Right. And the Saints... Even in the Carolina game, they were effective. I think Jair Smith had, like, two sacks in that game. Their offense is so up and down. You know what I mean? Like, Tyler Shuck is definitely a second-half player, besides last week, of course. You know what I mean? I love both of them.
[01:32:30] But he definitely gets better as the game goes on, I guess. But I think that the Saints, when you look at it, they have good players. And outside of Olave, I don't know if they have game-changers. You know, I know Jawan Johnson had two touchdowns last week. Vele's been pretty good. ETN's out, you know, so we're back to Kamara, who's never run for 1,000 yards in a season. Which is the strangest thing. It is, ain't it?
[01:32:59] Especially as much as I feel like he gets the ball. Like, Kamara was damn sure not, you know, aching for touches. But I think that we're at a point where Atlanta's defense is good enough. Whereas with the Saints' defense, it's just really hit or miss. You know, I just never know what I'm going to get. Not even from game to game, not even from quarter to quarter, but sometimes from possession to possession.
[01:33:29] You know what I mean? So I'm going with the Falcons in the upset, you know what I mean, against my better judgment because I was the one that named it the House of Horrors because of what they do to Atlanta in that building. Atlanta's won recently, like, in that building. They have. Yeah, so. Yeah, Saints have been bad. Like I said, this first part of the year, this first part of the year,
[01:33:52] unless your team is Miami, Tennessee, Tampa, Chargers, Tampa with an injured quarterback, the Giants with an injured quarterback. If you have all your pieces intact, I think you're still in the optimism window for your team. One and three right now for any team that's one and two is not the end of the world.
[01:34:21] Any team that's one and three, if you can get a win, it's not the end of the world because it's so early. But if you are a team that like New England, New England has to win this week because they've looked so bad. And the height of their success last year, I think that's going to pour into them. Like we were in a Super Bowl in February. Now we can't get a win in October. What's going on here? Is this worth it?
[01:34:50] Was the trade worth it? Should I be here? Should I request a trade? You know, like all of those conversations start when you are a team that's like expected to win. But it takes about a quarter of the year. I think week five, week six, we'll really know. All right. This four and one, five and one team is legit. This only. You hear that Jacksonville? The five team is their ass. Like they are not going to turn around.
[01:35:19] They're probably going to have to draft another quarterback. They're losing their coach. I think we'll know before Halloween. But right now, before Indigenous People Day, yeah. I think you roll it out there and see what happens. But then you have to make judgment out there. Like Tampa Bay is probably going to be the first team that really makes a move. All right. So as we transition, let me give you all some bets that I like. You know, not as many this week.
[01:35:48] You know, like the slate is a little, you know, it's not bad at all. But I just didn't see a lot of value for me. But give me Texas Tech with the 12 and a half going out to Boulder. Colorado's DOA, man. They're DOA. Give me Texas Tech in that one. Give me Nebraska. Minus 14 and a half against my Terps. You know what I mean? Like it just is what it is. Got to go, Locksley.
[01:36:18] Give me Arkansas plus 13 and a half at A&M. Because like I was saying last week, what is Arkansas going to do to lose the A&M this time? They always got them right on the ropes. It's almost like Wile E. Coyote. I got you right where I want you. And then I dropped the anvil on myself. Give me Middle Tennessee State plus 19 and a half at Kansas. And you know what? Oh, no. Hold on, man.
[01:36:47] This boy just kicked the eight-yard punt. I saw that. You know, that's why I stopped. You know, give me Middle Tennessee plus 19 and a half. And you know what? If you're feeling like a freak, John, and you actually wanted to take Middle Tennessee straight up, I might not even call you crazy. Give me Stanford and Wake Forest over 54 and a half. Give me – I want the under Wyoming at North Dakota State.
[01:37:16] That's 45 and a half. And finally, give me Auburn plus 6 and a half at Tennessee. And I might be tempted. I might be tempted to go War Eagle straight up. I might be. Might be. All right. Mr. Logical. This is the week of road favorites. Ohio State favorite by 13 and a half at Iowa, 14 and a half some places.
[01:37:46] You got Alabama favorite by five and a half at Mississippi State. You got Michigan favorite by five and a half after Minnesota. And all I got to say is Minnesota players stop bleeding because your coach is a sicko. You know, then you got Florida as a four and a half point road favorite against Missouri. You got Miami as a 16 and a half road favorite at Clemens.
[01:38:16] My cousin Clemens. You got Virginia favorite by three coming into Doak Campbell Stadium to see my Seminoles. You know, so let's get to it. Mr. Logical Bama at Mississippi State. OK, so a couple of weeks ago. Little brown jug. That's right, Mike.
[01:38:37] You know, saying like we had this conversation about how Sean McVay decided to go to Australia the day before the game. And, you know, the Rams could have been, you know, first of all, what their ass. But, you know, but they could have been a little lethargic. Kael and DeBoer, they're going to wake up tomorrow and drive to Starkville.
[01:39:07] Now, granted, it's only a 90 minute drive, but he's trying to treat this. He's trying to treat this. He said something along the lines. I'm paraphrasing, but he said something along the lines of I wanted them to be able to sleep in their own beds. And then I want to wake him up at five in the morning. I don't know if he's trying to keep him hungry. It's like when the teams go to these hotels.
[01:39:36] I know for the NFL and I imagine for, you know, upper echelon, top tier college football programs. They take over a section of the hotel, probably a nice hotel with a ballroom, like a like a real nice Hyatt or something. And they set up the breakfast and they set up all the food and everything that comes along with. Being all these players. So if you wake them up at five, you drive them to this next hotel.
[01:40:04] You get there and everybody gets off the bus, all their gear loaded into the lobby. Unless you're not. You've got to stay somewhere, right? You've got to be in some kind of some kind of facility where they can put all this shit down to get ready for the game. So I imagine you're going to another hotel. You get there at six thirty seven. What time is the game? It's prime time. Noon. Game's at noon. So they got to wake up at like six. They got to be on the road by like seven forty five, baby.
[01:40:34] At the latest. It's a 90 minute drive. So that gets you there at about nine fifteen games at noon. Yeah, it's bad because you don't feed them because they get like a spread. They get like the whole like they get like they don't stop. Yeah, that was I don't know. I don't know about that. Unless you're going to give them all like grab and go boxes to eat and they're taking the bus. I imagine like it's probably a nice bus.
[01:41:04] Yeah. Yeah. It's tough, man. But you got you got a lot of cowbell. Well, apparently last week, Mississippi State broke the decibel record with all the cowbells. They did it on purpose. They aim to do that. But a lot of talk about Camario Taylor and I love Camario Taylor. Fourteen touchdowns, one interception. He looks like the guy that should be getting the Arch Manning hype. But little known secret.
[01:41:33] Keelan Russell of Alabama doesn't have 14 touchdowns and one interception, but he looks just as good. Heisman candidate type guy. Bama looks like they figured out how to run the ball again. The question for Mississippi State. I share their inability to run the ball. Yeah. It's weird, right? Yeah. The question for me in this game is, can Mississippi State block Alabama for four quarters? Now, I think this is going to be one of those environments.
[01:42:04] And oh, by the way, Mr. Logical, before you blink, Bama's got Georgia coming in next week. Are they going to overlook Mississippi? Are they going to overlook? I don't think you can in that stadium, though. If they were at home. Because I think he's. Yeah, Bama was at home. I can see. The quarterback has been getting more attention than Bama as a team. So I think you can't overlook them.
[01:42:30] If it was someone who was kind of like sneaking in under the radar. I think if the game was in Tuscaloosa. It's funny when they go on the center for the first time. I think if the game was in Tuscaloosa, I think Bama would kill them. You know what I mean?
[01:42:47] But going into Stark Vegas, you know what I'm saying?
[01:43:19] Like that. That calm kind of just resonates throughout the huddle. It's a difference factor. Like we talk about quarterbacks that. That seem to be aloof. We talk about, you know, like Archman is a really good quarterback. You know, his stats. The stats show that he's a good quarterback. He's all right. But he's not real.
[01:43:42] So it's just his play isn't making Texas fans feel like we got a shot at this next robbery game. We got a shot to be here at the week eight. You know, like I think what Taylor's doing in Mississippi State, fans are coming to the game week in and week out thinking like we got a shot this week. So getting that shot this week.
[01:44:12] And if you could stop. Man, he's short. Man, he's short about a whole yard. What y'all talking about? Oh, they gave it to him? Woo! That was close. I'm going to review that, coach. I'm sorry. Like I said, I think having the best playmaker on the field in a college football game gives you a shot. Bama makes one, two mistakes. The fans get into it.
[01:44:42] It feels real. Kaelin DeBoer is not Nick Saban, even though their records are very similar after, you know, the amount of games they coached. It's very similar. It's not the same. So I'm going to go Mississippi State. I'm going to go Mississippi State. I think they pull off the upset. Like I said, I think the Cam Newton type effect, I think it changes.
[01:45:11] I think having that guy at that position, especially when he's as big as he is, throws the ball, and he seems to, like I say, he seems like his energy and his aura, the word that resonates throughout the team, the staff, the coaches doing his little hand signals and post-game interviews.
[01:45:36] I think they're appreciating the early start. I think they respect him more versus like Alabama team that kind of expects to start that way. I think he plays a little bit more urgency when you like, hey, this is the first time we've been in this position in a while. And I can't talk about Mississippi State without saying the name Fluff Bothwell. I had to get that out. You know what I mean? But Alabama's been playing around early in these games.
[01:46:05] You know, they had the early pick six against Kentucky. They ended up winning by 28. You know, they were down on the ropes 21-6 to Florida State. They put up 50. Florida State gave it back to them. So, you know what I mean? Like, Bama can't start off in Stark Vegas like that because they will get buried. You got Ohio State at Iowa. You know, Iowa, always a tough place to play, Kinnick Stadium. Last time Ohio State went there was 2017.
[01:46:33] Iowa 55, Ohio State 24. Last year, you know, Oregon went there. That was one of my upset picks last year. But Oregon walked it off 18-16 in a rainstorm. So, I was close, but, you know. You know, Indiana last year, remember the national champions blowing everybody out? They went into Kinnick 20-15. I say all that to say that was last year.
[01:47:03] This ain't the same Iowa team. And I know they beat Michigan. I know Iowa finally got a wide receiver. But this is the first time in a long time that I could say Iowa's defense isn't smothering. You know what I mean? That's the problem in this game because you're going up against Jeremiah Smith. The week after, here it comes. Can you smother Julian Sanne if you double Julian? Jeremiah Smith. No, because you still got Brandon Ennis. You still got Chris Henry Jr.
[01:47:31] But the reason that I brought that up is because, logically. If I say the name Bryce Underwood to you, what do you say? Size, you know, shot the rest. 6'4", 6'5", about 230. Not a playmaker from the quarterback position with his arm. Last week against Iowa, Michigan had two 100-yard receivers.
[01:48:05] That's why I asked you that question. They got Jeremiah Smith in the game coming in. Coming in off of a 217-yard four-touchdown game. Ohio State can run the ball. Now, the other side of this is if Iowa does have a chance, it's that old cliche, run the ball, keep them off the field. Because Iowa has not been successful running the ball this year. But Ohio State hasn't been successful stopping the run.
[01:48:35] Something's got to give. But then, what happened last time we saw Ohio State on the road? They blew that 20-point lead to Texas. Sorry, Iowa. You're going down. Yeah, I did that happen twice in 14 days. All right. So, as we go around the nation to wrap this up, you got a game that I'm interested in.
[01:49:01] I ain't going to break it down, but I'm just going to talk about it real quick in a quick second. Notre Dame, 21.5-point favorite. Against Bill Belichick. You know what I mean? So, yeah. So, you know, North Carolina has a guy that's got six sacks. So, watch out, CJ Carr, who has a 70.5-point completion percentage with nine touchdowns and one interception.
[01:49:30] But that night game that I talked about, Miami and Clemson, is this Dabo's last stand. Now, I know they won at Cal last week. But I'm talking about big opponent. Yeah. They should win at Cal. Yeah, they should. But I'm just saying. I'm talking about a big opponent. You know, top five, top six team in the nation. We saw what happened when they opened the season at LSU. This is a chance for Dabo Sweeney.
[01:50:00] Oh, Jesus. To get that fan base back. I got it. Now, I'm not saying that Clemson has to win the game. They have to win the game. But they lost to LSU 51-10. So, you can't come out against Miami and get bullied, especially in your own stadium. Now, there's going to be some weather. And Miami's got some issues on the right side of that offensive line.
[01:50:30] Theoretically, Clemson has the talent to get there. They can play with three offensive linemen and still beat Clemson. Okay. They can play with three offensive linemen, put two tight ends on the right, and still beat. It's not going to happen. The problem is the new college football ways. His buyout is probably gigantic. Miami's going to beat them 49-10. And he's going to go to the podium and say something. It's only like you've got to be able to keep up.
[01:50:59] You know, we talked about him. Yo, I was literally thinking the same thing when I said so long you keep up. You said that. Yo. Yo. You're. If I tried to teach a young man at 22 how to go to the club and hit on women, it's way different than how it was for me in 2003. It is 2026. The whole demeanor is different.
[01:51:29] What you wear is different. Where you go is different. What you say is different. What you offer. It's different. I can give you knowledge base. I can tell you how it works schematically. Like, ah, you sit yourself here. You catch her when she come out the bathroom. Blah, blah, blah. I can say all this stuff that used to work for me in 2003. Oh, yeah. That was a move. Yeah, that was a move. You catch them on the way out on that hallway. Talk to them. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. You take them over to the bar. You get a drink. Whatever. Whatever. But like now that's not even the work.
[01:52:05] This is Cornell this week, man. We can't be talking about that stuff. I'm not. I didn't say roofie. But in 2003, that was the way you put on this kind of outfit. You had your hair cut Friday afternoon. Boom. That's how you went to the club. Now it's not the same. Dabo is that dude trying to give you 03 moves in 2000. Oh, he caught it. In 2026. And eventually, yeah, it'll work against Cal. Wow.
[01:52:35] Reynolds, that's my fantasy team. It'll work. You know, it'll work against, you know, it might work against, like I say, it'll work against USC, UNC, stuff like that. It's not going to work against these upper echelons. I think we're going to see some weather issues. So I think the game is going to be a little bit lower scoring than that. So, you know, I could see something along the lines of like. Wide receivers run fast in the rain. 26 to 13. You know, Clemson has some offensive line problems. 23 to 9-10.
[01:53:04] Yeah, the weather, man. Like Tate Reynolds, freshman quarterback. So you remember I talked about Alabama trap game, right? Let's hear it. Who did I say they play next week? Georgia. Okay. Georgia played Oklahoma last week. Play Alabama next week. Who they got wedged in between? Vanderbilt. 24 and a half point favorite against Vanderbilt.
[01:53:32] Now, the only reason I think that this is not a trap game is because Vanderbilt's quarterback, Jared Curtis, turned down Georgia to go to Vanderbilt. So that's the guy who went to the private school, right? The big kid that went to the private school. Yeah. So Georgia's going to be ready for that. And I also think that Kirby Smart is that kind of guy that in a game like this, he'll just sit on you.
[01:53:58] You know, he'll get out to like a 17-3 lead and just take the air out the ball. Yeah, see, with Georgia, the way Georgia plays football is like, it's not glitzy. It's not glamorous. It's very, it's just, it's contact. It's forced downhill. You can't get caught in a trap game when you expect to impose your will defensively with your front seven
[01:54:25] and then subsequently impose your will coming back the other way with your front five tight end running back, a mobile quarterback. So like Oregon is the type of team that wants to spread you out five wide, all these tricky plays. Georgia's like, listen, I got eight, 16, 1700 pounds of offensive linemen in front of me. Another tight end. We just going to run this stretch play and see if you can handle that front. You can't. We're going to run it the other way.
[01:54:55] And I think that's why you rarely see Georgia lose one of these, like these trap games or games where they're favored by a lot because what they do is assert what, like walk, getting off the bus. Remember that game? Was it last year or the year before when they played Kentucky? And Mark Stoops kept punting from like the 40 because he was scared.
[01:55:21] Because he was like, yo, I can't even go for the jugular because these dudes are here like this. Like some, some boxers will let you get a shot. Like Ryan Garcia, he boxes recklessly. He might, you might get a shot in. Yeah. Georgia boxers like this. I'm harder to miss than I am to hit. So we coming. So as soon as you mess up, meek, meek, meek. And now we 60 yards down the field or pick six at the goal line.
[01:55:51] And when was the last time you heard somebody had mumps? In that movie, ATL, when he said her ass is fatter than a swap console with the mumps. San Diego State apparently has 14 players with the mumps. How do you get the mumps? Is it like mono? Is it a kissing disease? I always thought mono was a kissing disease.
[01:56:19] Well, usually that's how you hear about people getting it. Like for the mono at least. Yeah. No, the mono. No, mumps is a viral infection. And it messes with your saliva glands. So from kissing. Okay. All right. You guys got kissing disease. So down in Louisiana. Whoa, Mike. I'm not.
[01:56:50] So down in Louisiana, you know, they had a congressman tell Louisiana Tech, Louisiana University, or the University of Louisiana, and the ULM Louisiana Monroe, y'all need to go to FCS. Like, y'all ain't making enough money to be up here. That's interesting to me. Yes. That's interesting to me. That's very interesting.
[01:57:20] And then finally, shout out to UMass. You know, not only are they undefeated, not only are they winning their games by 23 and a half points, but this is their first sellout since 2014. So shout out to UMass, a.k.a. the Masters of Rutgers.
[01:57:48] They changed the trajectory of Jersey football. They did. You know what I'm saying? But on that note, y'all, unfortunately, there's no sports reports is ordered next week. Next week is vacation. So, but thank you. We'll be back. You know what I'm saying? You'll still get your clips and everything. We'll still argue with you. You know what I mean? Thank you for your support. Thanks for being here. Thanks for watching. Thanks for all the love. Thanks for all the hate.

[01:58:46] So, we'll be either in the stands or on the field. You know? So, shout out to Lehigh Mountain Hawks out in PA. Hey, here comes the game winning attempt. And then, you know what I mean? And then, of course, you know what I'm saying? Yes, shout out. You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? Lil Rutley. Appreciate it. Bigger than I am. Taller, at least. But, yeah.
