[00:00:02] Navy out here doing the Lord's work, taking care of the Bama Killers. The Armed Forces Bowl just means more.

[00:00:21] Yes, you are now listening to the sound of Sports Reports As Ordered. And of course, it's 2-5, your unorthodox statistician, the Aggie Daddy in the building.

[00:00:35] And I'm not alone. I brought my boy with me, the one and only even killed, born in Texas, raised in VA, representing New Jersey.

[00:00:48] He wants all you historians out there to know that the first complete dinosaur skeleton was found in New Jersey in 1858.

[00:00:57] 1858.

[00:00:58] Alien-tology, son.

[00:01:00] The Hadrosaurus.

[00:01:03] He is Mr. Logic.

[00:01:06] And do not, do not bring feelings to this here fat fight.

[00:01:13] Like, review, subscribe, share, break, do all the free things.

[00:01:20] And if you're doing that, that means that you're doing all the good things.

[00:01:26] Yes.

[00:01:28] So, Mr. Logical.

[00:01:30] One and only.

[00:01:31] You know what I heard?

[00:01:32] Football?

[00:01:35] I heard there's a war going on outside.

[00:01:38] No man is safe from.

[00:01:39] You know what I'm saying?

[00:01:41] The NFL has declared war on the NBA.

[00:01:45] They said, you know what?

[00:01:47] I love what you did with Christmas.

[00:01:49] Now watch me work.

[00:01:51] What did you think?

[00:01:53] Yeah, I think.

[00:01:55] Like I said, the NFL took Sunday away from Jesus and Christmas away from the NBA.

[00:02:02] That quick.

[00:02:03] Like, I honestly didn't even think about the NBA Christmas games.

[00:02:10] Just because Netflix is right in my face.

[00:02:13] Like, boom.

[00:02:13] Here's some NFL football.

[00:02:15] And then it was their two, two of their marquee players.

[00:02:20] Not just the marquee cities.

[00:02:22] And I think that's where the NBA is kind of.

[00:02:24] I mean, they're kind of.

[00:02:27] That's where they're dropping the ball.

[00:02:30] It's, I mean, honestly, it's very similar to politics.

[00:02:33] They say the Democrats have kind of forgotten, like, the middle America.

[00:02:37] Like, yo.

[00:02:38] Everybody is part of this.

[00:02:40] So all the fans want to participate in games and days and be highlighted and have their regions.

[00:02:46] You know, you represent it.

[00:02:48] That's why college football is huge.

[00:02:49] It's not a lot of professional teams in Oklahoma.

[00:02:52] But when the Sooners are good, it's boomer sooner.

[00:02:55] You see it everywhere.

[00:02:56] The rivalry game between them and Texas.

[00:02:59] Kansas.

[00:03:00] Kansas.

[00:03:00] When Kansas went on that streak this week.

[00:03:02] I mean, this season knocking off those teams.

[00:03:05] So that middle America.

[00:03:06] The NBA just focuses so much on the big markets that they just kind of alienate the smaller markets.

[00:03:17] And that's where that's where your America is.

[00:03:20] Yeah, it's a lot of people in the big markets.

[00:03:22] A lot of people in New York City.

[00:03:23] There's a lot of people in Boston.

[00:03:24] A lot of people who live in Philly.

[00:03:26] And it's very popular.

[00:03:28] But there's other basketball teams.

[00:03:30] So every year, every Christmas is like you get your standard eight cities.

[00:03:37] You get L.A.

[00:03:38] And now Golden State's good.

[00:03:40] You get the San Francisco region.

[00:03:43] Your two teams you threw in essentially with Dallas and Minnesota because Dallas made the run to the finals last year.

[00:03:49] And they have Luka.

[00:03:50] And then Ants become a bit of a personality.

[00:03:53] And Minnesota had a good run.

[00:03:55] But why can't Charlotte versus Orlando be a Christmas Day game?

[00:03:59] Why is that never even a thought?

[00:04:01] Because every year that they've been doing it, it's only these players.

[00:04:06] And I get a lot of these guys have shoe deals.

[00:04:08] And they get to do their Christmas shoes and the Grinch colors and everything else.

[00:04:12] And I understand like that level of marketing.

[00:04:15] But you can do that all week with them.

[00:04:18] It could be Christmas week.

[00:04:20] And all of these stars can debut their shoes.

[00:04:23] And it could be highlighted.

[00:04:24] And you can auction them off to charity.

[00:04:26] Very similar to what the NFL does was my cleat and my cause.

[00:04:29] It's just I think the NFL, they do a better job of selling the players.

[00:04:36] They don't take care of them better as far as financially.

[00:04:40] NBA takes care of their players better financially.

[00:04:42] But as far as like showcasing multiple teams, multiple combinations like the Young Guns, Bryce Young versus C.J. Stroud, that will be a primetime game because they're selling you these two players.

[00:05:00] Yeah, they threw Caleb Williams against C.J. Stroud early this year on Sunday night.

[00:05:05] You know, they threw they had a Bears Carolina game on the schedule just because, you know, the NFL is smarter in that way.

[00:05:16] Because to your point, you know, we always talk about you and I.

[00:05:20] We always talk about, oh, the league is still holding on to LeBron.

[00:05:23] The league's still holding on to Steph, still holding on to KD.

[00:05:27] And then Christmas came and it's like, that's why, you know.

[00:05:31] But at the same time, to your point, the reason that they don't have Orlando and Charlotte on Christmas is because you would have people like Stephen A.

[00:05:39] Smith saying, who wants to watch Orlando and Charlotte on Christmas shitting on the product?

[00:05:46] Yo, the we and you've talked about this for years.

[00:05:50] And I remember an episode of The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard and Rob Parker.

[00:05:58] And they kind of alluded to this as well.

[00:06:03] And he asked Rob, he's like, Rob, do you think it's kind of our fault for just kind of summing up everybody's career with this championship expectation and the ring count?

[00:06:13] Because before the ring count, Charles Barkley was a great player.

[00:06:17] Carvaloon, great player, finished his career second on time in points.

[00:06:21] And was just a brick house of a man this entire career.

[00:06:25] You know, you had guys like Craig Hila, Mark Price.

[00:06:27] You had so many different guys that were just, you know, that were playing great roles in the NBA.

[00:06:33] And then you had some guys who were superstars like that.

[00:06:36] And Jordan won most of the championships.

[00:06:38] Olajuwon won a couple.

[00:06:40] The Bad Boy Pistons got a couple.

[00:06:41] The Lakers got a handful.

[00:06:43] So for like a 15-year span, only like four teams won chips.

[00:06:48] But everyone was highlighted.

[00:06:50] Barkley had a shoe deal.

[00:06:52] He was on TV all the time.

[00:06:53] Grandma-ma.

[00:06:53] He was in the interview.

[00:06:54] Grandma-ma.

[00:06:55] Like every, it was the total package of what the NBA was offering you was on full display.

[00:07:04] Now they give you about 25% of what they really have.

[00:07:10] Yeah.

[00:07:10] And then they rely on that.

[00:07:12] And then when these guys need to sit out, naturally, he's like, listen, you got me playing 82 games.

[00:07:16] And about, so they play about three games a week on average with practice and travel.

[00:07:21] Granted, they're traveling all night, chartered jets.

[00:07:24] But it still worked.

[00:07:25] They still got to get from point A to point B and play a physically demanding game.

[00:07:30] So when they need to sit out, the NBA gets mad.

[00:07:33] It's like, well, put some other faces on the marquee.

[00:07:36] And you wouldn't need LeBron on Tuesday and Thursday and Saturday every week to be your marquee matchup.

[00:07:44] And, you know, the NFL just simply said, I see you, LeBron.

[00:07:47] I see you, Steph.

[00:07:48] I see you, Katie.

[00:07:50] And I'm going to raise you a Mahomes, a Lamar.

[00:07:54] You know what I'm saying?

[00:07:55] A Pittsburgh Steeler.

[00:07:56] And, oh, by the way, you want to highlight the young talent, Anthony Edwards?

[00:08:00] Here's CJ Stroud for you.

[00:08:02] And granted, the games weren't even good.

[00:08:04] But, you know, but at the end of the day, the numbers are in.

[00:08:07] And those two NFL games, by a margin of 17.6 million viewers more than what the NBA games had.

[00:08:17] And then the NFL said, oh, and we're not done yet.

[00:08:21] Here's a little Beyonce, too.

[00:08:24] How are you going to compete with that?

[00:08:26] And then we're going to give you a score and all, Matt.

[00:08:30] Once again, in the building way back.

[00:08:34] 52nd Fire to Wing.

[00:08:36] Crazy life stories back then.

[00:08:37] But we'll keep that secret until I write my book.

[00:08:41] But then you got the last night you had Seattle versus Chicago.

[00:08:46] 6-3, 13 punts.

[00:08:48] People watched that whole game.

[00:08:50] The fans were in the stands, tears in their eyes.

[00:08:54] But it was 6-3.

[00:08:55] And it was like, this is your standalone game.

[00:08:57] And we're going to talk about our NFL games.

[00:08:59] It's a lot of cool matchups this weekend.

[00:09:02] You got, you know, you got the NFC South matchup.

[00:09:05] Bryce Young and Baker Mayfield.

[00:09:08] That's not primetime Saturday.

[00:09:10] You got the Jets versus the Bills.

[00:09:13] Big New York.

[00:09:15] New York State.

[00:09:16] New York City.

[00:09:17] Jersey.

[00:09:18] They're like, nah.

[00:09:19] We're giving you the Chargers and New England first.

[00:09:22] Then we're going to run it back with Denver and Cincinnati.

[00:09:24] And then we're going to get you Arizona and the Rams.

[00:09:26] Y'all going to watch all three all day Saturday.

[00:09:29] And Denver and Cincinnati is supposed to be windy.

[00:09:33] You know what I'm saying?

[00:09:34] Like high 40s.

[00:09:36] Yeah.

[00:09:36] So, you know, and that's where, because the NFL, that's the difference right there.

[00:09:40] The NFL markets the sport.

[00:09:43] They market competition.

[00:09:45] They market worst to first.

[00:09:48] You know, we have this draft.

[00:09:50] And, you know, like the team that finished last.

[00:09:52] Like, remember the NFC South.

[00:09:54] There was like a four or five year stretch where the last place team would win it the next year.

[00:09:59] Whereas in the NBA, for the most part, over the last, I'd say, well, hell, I'm 43.

[00:10:04] So I'd say over the last 30 years, we've come into every season knowing these are the top two or three teams that are going to.

[00:10:13] Six teams and maybe a surprise 17.

[00:10:16] Right.

[00:10:16] And then so then when you come to Christmas, you know, you look at this as a moment to showcase.

[00:10:22] Like like I brought up Detroit a couple of weeks ago.

[00:10:25] And I know nobody wants to watch the Pistons for real.

[00:10:27] But the reason that I brought up Detroit is because they won 14 games last season.

[00:10:32] They got 14 wins right now.

[00:10:34] You know, you got Cade Cunningham, you know, out here getting triple doubles.

[00:10:38] So on, so forth.

[00:10:39] And people like, I don't know who Cade Cunningham is.

[00:10:42] Well, you ain't going to know who he is if they don't present it.

[00:10:46] Like we didn't know who Gonzaga was until Gonzaga beat somebody.

[00:10:51] And then they beat another team.

[00:10:53] And then it was like, oh.

[00:10:55] Once they made their run through the tournament.

[00:10:57] But that was their showcase.

[00:10:58] It was like, cool.

[00:10:59] And then ESPN back in the day.

[00:11:01] Because I remember that was like when I was in high school.

[00:11:02] So ESPN would play a lot of the smaller conference tournaments throughout the day.

[00:11:11] Because they would play their games all day long.

[00:11:13] So they would.

[00:11:14] So you were getting Gonzaga.

[00:11:16] You were getting Santa Clara and seeing Steve Nash.

[00:11:19] You were seeing those games leading up to the tournament.

[00:11:23] Right.

[00:11:23] But that raised excitement to the tournament.

[00:11:26] Because it's like, hey, we're selling this.

[00:11:28] We're selling the David versus Goliath competition.

[00:11:32] In the NFL, a lot of it is all passing the guard.

[00:11:36] Drake May and Justin Herbert.

[00:11:38] The commentators are probably going to make so many comparisons to how they are physically.

[00:11:44] Drake May is a lot like Justin Herbert.

[00:11:46] So that makes you associate rookie years, size, experience levels in college, arm strength, coaching, whatever the case may be.

[00:11:57] Oh, well, Justin Herbert had Anthony Lynn as a coach.

[00:12:01] 31 touchdowns.

[00:12:02] They brought in another coach.

[00:12:04] Then they bring in Harbaugh.

[00:12:05] And it looks like they're making a good run.

[00:12:06] You know, give Drake May some time.

[00:12:08] Yadda, yadda.

[00:12:09] So they're constantly bridging old players with younger players.

[00:12:15] You're going to look at Denver and Cincinnati.

[00:12:19] That's going to be Bo Nix, Joe Burrow.

[00:12:21] They were in college probably around the same time.

[00:12:24] Playoffs on the line.

[00:12:26] Can Cincinnati, you know, right the ship and get back to the playoffs?

[00:12:30] Can this rookie lead his team that's paying another guy $38 million not to be here?

[00:12:37] So, like, the NFL is constantly connecting one coach to another coach, another player.

[00:12:45] It's constant references to where they went to school.

[00:12:47] They're always asking these guys.

[00:12:49] Like, so, you know, they're always making bets in the locker room.

[00:12:53] So guys have to wear the – so it's just this constant, deliberate connection that they're making between the players and the game.

[00:13:03] And even with the – I don't like the penalties.

[00:13:06] I don't like the, you know, roughing the passer calls.

[00:13:09] I think they're – the NFL referees have put themselves in a position to be involved in the game just as much as the NBA players.

[00:13:19] But the NBA, those guys are – they're throwing people out for talking to them.

[00:13:24] Right.

[00:13:25] You know.

[00:13:25] And that's why, like, you know, I sent you – I sent you the comments that Kevin Durant made earlier.

[00:13:32] You know, quote, I feel like fans only want free agency and drama and only care about playoffs and finals and what that means for somebody's legacy.

[00:13:41] Then they get programmed to just think about that, which has made them not want to care about the regular season, unquote.

[00:13:48] And that's exactly it, you know, because we were talking about a couple of weeks ago, you know, the Bucs won the NBA Cup.

[00:13:58] And people were making these fake memes about Dame talking about how, like, he's an NBA champion now and all that kind of stuff like that.

[00:14:05] Yeah.

[00:14:05] The reason that that even exists is because that's the space that sports is in right now, or at least the NBA.

[00:14:13] Like, you don't hear it as much about the NFL.

[00:14:16] Like, we're not sitting around talking about, you know, I don't know how Joe Burrow's going to be a great quarterback without a Super Bowl.

[00:14:22] Or, like, you know, Lamar Jackson won his two MVPs, and, like, he might get a little criticism.

[00:14:27] But Josh Allen doesn't get the, oh, hey, where's his Super Bowl at?

[00:14:32] Like, he's putting the team on the back.

[00:14:33] Where's his Super Bowl?

[00:14:34] This is just an NBA thing.

[00:14:36] And, like, baseball, like, before last year, nobody was talking about, when the hell is Shohei going to win a title?

[00:14:44] That wasn't –

[00:14:45] A lot of people consider – that I've talked to consider Mike Trout to be a top five to top ten baseball player of all time.

[00:14:52] All time.

[00:14:53] Mike Trout has never played in a playoff game.

[00:14:57] Barry Bonds is considered the greatest baseball player of all time by a lot of people, and he never won a World Series.

[00:15:04] Just played in one.

[00:15:06] And he killed it, though.

[00:15:08] He killed that World Series that he was in.

[00:15:10] He bet, like, 560.

[00:15:12] Yeah.

[00:15:12] And, you know, and that's the thing, you know, is that when you look at the NBA, it's so individualized.

[00:15:20] So, like, when I was talking to people yesterday, it wasn't, oh, I can't wait for this Dallas-Minnesota game.

[00:15:26] It was, oh, man, like, Aunt Luka coming on.

[00:15:29] And now Luka's hurt.

[00:15:31] He's out for a month.

[00:15:32] Now he's going to be ineligible to win MVP and all these things, you know.

[00:15:37] So, as I looked at the Lakers and the Warriors, Steph tried his damnedest, you know, to be a Houdini until Wiggins let Austin Reeves go by him.

[00:15:46] And, you know, but we did see good things on Christmas in the NBA because, like I said, the NFL games pretty much sucked.

[00:15:52] The Chiefs won by 19.

[00:15:54] Texas only put up two points.

[00:15:56] Yeah.

[00:15:58] LeBron was out there playing Madden in real life.

[00:16:00] He was.

[00:16:01] But in the NBA, Wimby had 42 and 18.

[00:16:04] Only problem is his nine-foot ass couldn't grab the rebounds that they needed at the end of the game.

[00:16:10] You know, Steph and LeBron, you know, they went back and forth.

[00:16:14] You know, McHale Bridges put up 41 on Christmas.

[00:16:18] But people would have probably enjoyed it more if it was Jalen Brunson, you know, because names.

[00:16:24] You know, Maxie with 33 and 12 assists.

[00:16:27] You know, Jason Tatum, 32, 15, and 4.

[00:16:30] So, like, there was great basketball to be seen.

[00:16:33] It is the best basketball in the world.

[00:16:35] Like, people talk about this international game catching up.

[00:16:38] The league, there's individual players that come from international areas and backgrounds, and they come to the NBA, and they are elite of elite.

[00:16:46] But they were head and shoulders above everybody else in their previous leagues.

[00:16:51] Luka was dominating his league at 16.

[00:16:53] Yeah.

[00:16:54] So, the world's not catching up.

[00:16:56] Well, it's overstated.

[00:16:58] But, like, here in the NBA, this is the best basketball in the world you're going to see.

[00:17:02] And I think analytics has kind of made the viewing of it back.

[00:17:07] Dominique Wilkins above-the-rim basketball.

[00:17:10] Jordan Duncan not shooting threes.

[00:17:12] That's what you want to see.

[00:17:14] Like, you got to – I don't – like I said, I know a few people in my life that I know personally that are over 6'5", 6'6".

[00:17:21] I don't know that many people who are, like, my close friends that are that tall.

[00:17:25] You have a whole league of people who can do amazing things at the rim, and you have some guy who went to MIT telling you,

[00:17:33] hey, you know, if we shoot 47 threes and we go 33 – no.

[00:17:40] Pump fake, get to the rim, put somebody on a poster.

[00:17:44] No one's wearing T-shirts of Jason Tatum shooting step-back threes.

[00:17:50] Like, put your – like, put the things – like, the slam dunk contest.

[00:17:56] All the NBA stars do the three-point contest.

[00:17:59] Carl Anthony Towns is 7'15".

[00:18:02] He out there winning the three-point contest.

[00:18:06] Meanwhile, you got guys from practice squads and G League coming in trying to save the dunk contest.

[00:18:13] It's like, that's what people came to see.

[00:18:15] That's supposed to be the marquee thing.

[00:18:17] It's like, nope, all the stars do the three-point contest.

[00:18:20] So, it just – I think they just marketed it badly.

[00:18:23] I think they're a victim of analytics.

[00:18:25] They're a victim of thinking that the math is more important than common sense.

[00:18:31] Because I don't want to see a game with 53-pointers.

[00:18:34] So, do you think that the NBA should revisit?

[00:18:37] Because I know, you know, during the – after the COVID year, Lakers won the title.

[00:18:41] Then they had, like, the short ramp-up for training camp.

[00:18:45] Season started on Christmas.

[00:18:47] Do you think the NBA should look back at that to where, if the NFL's gonna, I guess, try to commandeer it?

[00:18:54] Or I guess they've already commandeered Christmas, where the NBA can go.

[00:18:57] But this is our opening night.

[00:18:58] Opening night.

[00:18:59] You know, ring ceremonies.

[00:19:01] You know, like, of course, you've got your big names.

[00:19:04] But it's the first time that you all get to see us.

[00:19:07] But your season would end in June still.

[00:19:09] Mm-hmm.

[00:19:10] So, you – so, it'd be six months where football – season never really ends because it goes from Super Bowl in February,

[00:19:21] offseason, free agency, contracts, draft, training camp, training camp drama, holdouts,

[00:19:31] preseason football, college football, and then regular NFL football.

[00:19:37] What it do, Mike?

[00:19:39] And it starts – and NFL football starts as your year is transitioning.

[00:19:43] So, your summer's over or your summer vacations.

[00:19:46] Kids are going back to school.

[00:19:48] And now, when that happens, boom, now I have football.

[00:19:52] The NBA kind of come in in October when you are – we're six or seven games deep between college football and pros.

[00:20:00] It's tough.

[00:20:02] It's – they just have to market their matchups more and do more Saturday afternoon games like they did back in the day.

[00:20:15] Those – like I said, wrap the soul training camp.

[00:20:16] They wait until January to bring the Saturday night showcase on ABC.

[00:20:22] And it's kind of like, well, the NFL is obviously trying to compete with you.

[00:20:28] Maybe you need to try to compete with the NFL.

[00:20:31] And, you know, because, I mean, granted, right, you're starting from a negative position.

[00:20:35] Like, the NFL is the big bully on the block.

[00:20:37] And they're in full swing by the time your season starts.

[00:20:40] Right.

[00:20:40] But they ain't going anywhere.

[00:20:42] But – so, you have nothing to lose by challenging them, you know, because the NBA is still good enough international-wise that you don't have to worry about.

[00:20:51] Like, they got the TV deals.

[00:20:53] So, they're in a position right now where the league isn't going to fold because they're going up against an NFL time slot.

[00:21:00] No, they're just – they are just going to find it's going to be tough when –

[00:21:12] Yeah, they put up that 50 spot in the fourth quarter.

[00:21:15] You know, it's still like 50 to 25.

[00:21:17] That's crazy.

[00:21:17] But the thing about that, like –

[00:21:18] And Memphis put up one 55 the same night.

[00:21:20] That kind of stuff, like, that's a lot of points.

[00:21:23] People who are the oldest know defense.

[00:21:26] We like what we like.

[00:21:27] And we like points.

[00:21:29] We like stars.

[00:21:30] We like star power.

[00:21:32] But we don't need that star to be in Philly.

[00:21:36] We don't need that star to be in L.A.

[00:21:38] We don't need that star to be in Miami.

[00:21:40] We need the star to be on TV.

[00:21:42] Because I'm watching from wherever I live.

[00:21:45] So, if I live in Indiana and the Pacers have a star, then the Pacers have a star.

[00:21:53] I'm watching them.

[00:21:54] But if you live in Kentucky and you want to watch the star from Minnesota, just put them on TV.

[00:21:59] It doesn't need to be, oh, because this guy doesn't play in a big market.

[00:22:05] And because they make it seem like they tried everything for the small markets.

[00:22:12] Yeah.

[00:22:13] But that's what I'm saying.

[00:22:15] Like, when you first started talking about the season, that's what I was trying to say.

[00:22:19] Like, you know, the Philadelphia 76ers have 27 national games.

[00:22:23] When we know Joel Embiid is going to miss time, whether it's going to be intentional or not.

[00:22:30] And they still gave them 27 games for the fact that they play in Philadelphia.

[00:22:34] And that's fine.

[00:22:35] Now, you got a star, Maxie, a rising star.

[00:22:39] Put them on the TV circuit.

[00:22:41] They need to look scheduled is what they need.

[00:22:44] You don't say all these TNT games.

[00:22:45] Have them go to these places.

[00:22:48] Have them go sit on a panel with Chuck and Shaq.

[00:22:51] That way they can get the clips and they get the jokes out.

[00:22:54] Like, use these guys for – because they appreciate the branding.

[00:23:01] If Tommy Maxie can go out there and go to his agent and negotiate a shoe deal and say,

[00:23:06] hey, I am one of the new faces of the NBA.

[00:23:10] And you can see him everywhere.

[00:23:12] Have them on, you know, these talk shows, these morning shows, like Good Morning Philadelphia or, like, the Today Show.

[00:23:20] Like, put them out there to highlight things and then have them talk about whatever cause they're doing in the community as the reason for being there.

[00:23:29] And then, like I said, with NFL, my cause, my cleats.

[00:23:32] Do the same thing in the NBA.

[00:23:35] But the NBA, you have so many different players wearing so many different shoes.

[00:23:38] You can run it way longer because it's just NBA basketball shoes are part of the culture.

[00:23:47] So now you could do my shoes, my dream, or my shoes, my hope, whatever you want to call it,

[00:23:54] and highlight these guys every single night for, like, a week.

[00:23:58] Every star, anyone who has a nonprofit, anyone who's associated with anything,

[00:24:04] let them talk about that for a whole week.

[00:24:07] Like, maybe during the NFL's, like, opening week.

[00:24:12] NFL does a lot of breast cancer and, like, the cancer, the crucial catch.

[00:24:16] Hop right into that.

[00:24:18] And then when November comes around and it's veterans, hop right into that.

[00:24:22] Yeah.

[00:24:23] Get the veterans' uniforms, get the veterans' shoes, the Army shoes.

[00:24:27] The NBA's got to learn.

[00:24:28] Bring the Marines out.

[00:24:29] Like, do the things.

[00:24:30] And then Christmas comes around, focus on, all right, cool.

[00:24:34] I need some of you stars to have Christmas shoes on December the whole month

[00:24:39] and then have a new one for Christmas Day.

[00:24:42] So you need two pairs.

[00:24:43] Yeah, the NBA got to learn.

[00:24:45] The NBA has to learn.

[00:24:47] What works for Kendrick Lamar doesn't work for you.

[00:24:49] You know what I'm saying?

[00:24:50] Kendrick dropped albums and stuff when he want to, but it's anticipated.

[00:24:54] You go away and you alienate your fans because we're wondering where the hell you are.

[00:24:59] We're wondering, you know, where.

[00:25:00] Because, you know, you've got guys like Anthony Edwards who still at least talks like those old school guys.

[00:25:09] Like, he's like, these ain't my friends.

[00:25:10] Like, I'm here to win championships.

[00:25:12] And Giannis is like, no, I don't practice with these guys in the offseason.

[00:25:16] And, you know, but the NBA has tried to course correct because we had, you know, the malice in the palace.

[00:25:23] So the NBA has tried to overcorrect and be like, no,

[00:25:28] we're trying to get rid of all emotion, all energy, all vibes.

[00:25:34] And they got to check these refs too.

[00:25:36] Like, listen, you got guys out here playing at the apex of their emotion.

[00:25:43] If he says something to you, go to the coach.

[00:25:48] Like, you can't keep teching guys up because you tee up a guy who says, damn,

[00:25:55] and they call the fucking foul.

[00:25:58] Like, everyone's going to say that.

[00:26:00] You're going to just take up everybody because everyone says the exact same thing.

[00:26:03] Especially when you see the stars, you know, i.e. LeBron, i.e.

[00:26:09] when Tim Duncan was playing, you know, all up in the refs' faces doing all these demonstrative things.

[00:26:16] And they don't get techs.

[00:26:18] You know what I mean?

[00:26:18] They say, like, one thing Nick Wright said, Draymond gets that tech early and hopes that the ref doesn't want to improve.

[00:26:26] Right, right.

[00:26:27] And won't give him a second one.

[00:26:30] But these recent refs, man, they just been giving out techs.

[00:26:32] Like, Chris Paul got a tech for, he told the ref he was acting like the police.

[00:26:37] Well, Fred VanVleet tried to damn near, like, he was trying to mush that ref and get up on him.

[00:26:43] You know what I'm saying?

[00:26:43] And then you saw the clip I sent you with Toronto's coach last night.

[00:26:48] Like, that dude was peacocking around the court trying to, like, peck the ref.

[00:26:52] Like, you know, what the hell was going on?

[00:26:54] But yeah, that's the thing.

[00:26:56] That's part of the NBA's product.

[00:26:58] And it's like.

[00:26:59] Just like baseball.

[00:27:01] You see the manager right out there?

[00:27:03] They may.

[00:27:04] And they may.

[00:27:04] One of these umps retire.

[00:27:06] Like, listen, man, you are not doing good.

[00:27:08] We have computer data that shows you are missing more calls than you should.

[00:27:14] So go ahead, take this severance package and sayonara.

[00:27:18] The NBA is like they're letting these guys run loose.

[00:27:21] And I think Adam Silver and David Stern would never.

[00:27:23] Yeah.

[00:27:24] David Stern is not going for this.

[00:27:25] Like, Roger Goodell.

[00:27:26] They in the same city.

[00:27:27] Like, the NBA headquarters and the NFL.

[00:27:31] Yeah.

[00:27:31] It's like the same block.

[00:27:32] Did you see that?

[00:27:34] Philly the other night against the Spurs where she said she fucked up.

[00:27:38] And she ejected Andre Drummond and then went over to the bench and told the nurse, like, hey, I fucked up.

[00:27:46] And brought him back.

[00:27:48] Like, I ain't never seen that before.

[00:27:50] But at least she took accountability and was like, no.

[00:27:53] All these reviews, they, you need an independent, arbitrator third body to make some of these review calls.

[00:28:01] Because, like, for instance, remember that year the NFL tried the pass interference review?

[00:28:06] Mm-hmm.

[00:28:06] And coaches were allowed that.

[00:28:08] And, like, they're never going to reverse that call.

[00:28:12] Because in slow motion, it's going to look like pass interference.

[00:28:17] Right.

[00:28:17] The DB is grabbing the wide receiver every time.

[00:28:20] Like, every single round.

[00:28:22] Unless he's completely beat.

[00:28:23] Especially if his last name is Gardner.

[00:28:25] Gardner.

[00:28:26] Sanders.

[00:28:27] You know what I'm saying?

[00:28:29] Anybody in the round.

[00:28:30] All of them.

[00:28:31] You know what I'm saying?

[00:28:32] They need this logical.

[00:28:33] That's what they need.

[00:28:34] Anybody that's close is going to be grabbing.

[00:28:38] So, the call stands.

[00:28:39] Same thing with the foul.

[00:28:40] The foul challenge.

[00:28:41] Because, like, I think LeBron walked over.

[00:28:44] I remember it was a couple years back when he still was wearing six.

[00:28:47] He walked over to whoever was doing the broadcast.

[00:28:49] I think it was, like, Reggie Miller or somebody.

[00:28:52] And it was literally, it wasn't a foul.

[00:28:54] It was no foul at all.

[00:28:56] Like, the jumper was here.

[00:28:58] The defender's hand was here.

[00:29:01] No contact anywhere.

[00:29:04] And LeBron walked over.

[00:29:05] He's like, listen.

[00:29:06] And he said to Reggie, like, they're not going to reverse the call.

[00:29:08] He's like, that would mean, that means they would have to admit that they were wrong.

[00:29:12] He's like, they're not going to reverse this call.

[00:29:13] And everyone's looking at the play.

[00:29:15] It was like, yeah.

[00:29:15] There was no contact.

[00:29:16] I think it was like Kawhi did, like, something like this, like crazy.

[00:29:19] After he let the ball go.

[00:29:21] No one touched him.

[00:29:22] They were like, foul stands.

[00:29:24] Two free throws.

[00:29:26] Because they're not going to check themselves in the heat of that moment.

[00:29:30] Like, if I was a wrap for them, like, yo, chill out.

[00:29:34] Right.

[00:29:34] Stop giving these guys sex.

[00:29:36] They didn't come here to see us.

[00:29:38] Like, they came here to see these people play basketball.

[00:29:41] Like, let them cuss each other out.

[00:29:42] These are grown men.

[00:29:44] Let them battle out.

[00:29:45] If they say something disrespectful to you, about you, if they say you fucked up a call,

[00:29:51] it's a possibility that you fucked up a call.

[00:29:54] Right.

[00:29:55] Right with it.

[00:29:57] 100%.

[00:29:57] See, man.

[00:29:57] It's like, you're not even paying attention.

[00:29:59] Mike just had to.

[00:30:01] He wasn't even involved in the play call.

[00:30:03] He just said it wasn't going to change.

[00:30:05] The other guy flopped.

[00:30:07] His name is Kawhi.

[00:30:08] So, college boy.

[00:30:10] All right.

[00:30:11] Well, I got sportsillustrated.com pulled up here.

[00:30:14] We're going to talk about some clinching scenarios that can happen this weekend.

[00:30:18] But before I do that, Mr. Logical, here's a question for you.

[00:30:22] Does the NFC representative in the Super Bowl come from the NFC North?

[00:30:34] Yes.

[00:30:36] I picked Detroit preseason.

[00:30:40] I like what Minnesota's doing.

[00:30:43] And I think Green Bay is one of the hotter teams.

[00:30:48] Like I said, I like how Jordan loves commanding the offense there.

[00:30:52] So, if it doesn't happen, that means they fucked up.

[00:31:01] A lack of better words.

[00:31:03] Yeah.

[00:31:03] Like something didn't go right.

[00:31:05] Because if you think about potentially either Tampa Bay or Atlanta, the commanders and the Eagles.

[00:31:15] So, any NFC North team.

[00:31:18] No disrespect to the Rams, y'all.

[00:31:21] Oh, and the Rams.

[00:31:23] The only team that I can see that should be able to beat any of the NFC North teams is Philly.

[00:31:33] So, it depends on how it.

[00:31:35] The one-mike podcast.

[00:31:37] Ooh.

[00:31:38] So, whoever.

[00:31:39] Like, how it plays out to, you know, at the end of the season, who gets the one through four seed and who gets five, six, and seven.

[00:31:45] Yeah.

[00:31:45] So, let's talk about that.

[00:31:46] Yeah.

[00:31:47] That's the segue right there.

[00:31:49] So, you know, of course, this weekend is week 17, which means there's one week left in the regular season after this week.

[00:31:56] So, we're going to just take it in the order of this website because I ain't going to be scrolling up and down.

[00:32:00] So, tomorrow, tomorrow, Denver is going to the Queen City or one of the Queen Cities because I hear people call Charlotte and Cincinnati the Queen City.

[00:32:12] But, you know, I digress.

[00:32:14] But Denver tomorrow, with a win, is in.

[00:32:22] Even a tie gets them in.

[00:32:25] So, it's on the line tomorrow.

[00:32:28] Cincinnati, on the other hand, it's not that simple because not only do they need to win, they need to win next week at Pittsburgh, and they need some help from Miami and Indianapolis to lose a game as well.

[00:32:48] Kansas City has locked up the one seed.

[00:32:51] Buffalo this weekend can lock up the two with the win over if they beat the Jets or, you know, if Baltimore loses.

[00:33:01] Oh, I'm sorry, if Baltimore loses next week because right now they have a two-game lead on Baltimore.

[00:33:09] So, if they lose to the Jets this weekend, they would have to win next weekend or else Baltimore could pass them for the number two.

[00:33:17] Wouldn't that be something?

[00:33:19] You know, then you got the Chargers.

[00:33:21] That would influence the MVP vote.

[00:33:23] It would.

[00:33:25] Then you got the Chargers.

[00:33:26] They're going up to Foxboro tomorrow.

[00:33:28] Guess what?

[00:33:30] In with a win.

[00:33:32] Or a tie.

[00:33:34] Or a tie.

[00:33:35] Or, these pop-ups are getting on my nerves.

[00:33:38] Or a Dolphin and Colt loss.

[00:33:43] So, then you go over to the NFC.

[00:33:46] The Atlanta Falcons, they can clinch this weekend.

[00:33:51] Day eight.

[00:33:52] We'll get to that in a minute.

[00:33:53] Day eight.

[00:33:55] But the Falcons could.

[00:33:57] But the Falcons could clinch the NFC South this weekend with a win and a Tampa Bay loss to Carolina.

[00:34:06] You know, if they both win out, Atlanta still has the tiebreaker.

[00:34:10] So, Tampa needs Atlanta to lose at least once.

[00:34:13] And they will.

[00:34:15] We'll get to that in a minute.

[00:34:19] Detroit, with a win and a Minnesota loss this weekend, clinches the North.

[00:34:26] But if Detroit loses, you know, or I guess it don't really matter, but if Minnesota wins, we set up week 18.

[00:34:35] Winner take all in the North.

[00:34:37] Minnesota and Detroit.

[00:34:38] You know, of course, Minnesota on that league-leading eight-game winning streak right now.

[00:34:42] They got the pack coming in this weekend.

[00:34:44] So, beware, Vikings.

[00:34:47] And then the Rams, you know, Seattle won last night.

[00:34:52] So, this is the weird tiebreaker that is just nuts.

[00:34:56] So, if the Rams win and three of Buffalo, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Minnesota, 49ers, and Washington win or tie, the Rams clinch the West.

[00:35:15] But if not, they play each other next week.

[00:35:18] And then there's like a nine-team thing that I can't even explain.

[00:35:22] It must be like a common opponent win percentage.

[00:35:27] Something, yeah.

[00:35:28] Yeah.

[00:35:29] Really, Philly, with a win this weekend, clinches the NFC East.

[00:35:33] If not, and Washington wins this weekend, which they will.

[00:35:37] We'll get to that in a minute.

[00:35:39] If that happens, then Washington can clinch or potentially win the NFC East next week.

[00:35:46] You know, so no Jalen Hurts, by the way.

[00:35:48] So, you know, all bets are off.

[00:35:52] With the glove.

[00:35:53] All bets are off.

[00:35:54] So, there you go.

[00:35:55] Those are your clinching scenarios for this week.

[00:35:58] Let's see what we got here.

[00:36:00] Yeah, Josh went up.

[00:36:01] You know what I'm saying?

[00:36:01] Real Sports 365 in the house.

[00:36:04] You know, I knew he was going to throw the LeBron thing in there.

[00:36:07] I knew it was coming.

[00:36:08] I knew it was coming.

[00:36:14] Yeah, the NFL is the king of the town.

[00:36:16] You know, that's just the way it goes.

[00:36:18] But so, let's take it from the top, Mr. Logical.

[00:36:21] Foxborough is the scene.

[00:36:22] I don't know if they didn't have LeBron in that game.

[00:36:25] Foxborough is the scene.

[00:36:26] Can the Patriots prevent the Chargers from making the playoffs?

[00:36:30] Nah.

[00:36:33] I don't think so.

[00:36:33] I just don't think that New England has enough playmakers.

[00:36:38] I like Drake May.

[00:36:40] Like I said, there's going to be a lot of comparisons to talk about.

[00:36:42] Hampton, Justin Herbert.

[00:36:44] And, you know, their size and everything else.

[00:36:48] I just don't think.

[00:36:49] I know defense is solid.

[00:36:51] They can make things happen.

[00:36:53] But you're playing against Jim Harbaugh.

[00:36:55] He's going to be conservative.

[00:36:57] Most defenses have.

[00:37:00] Can change the game against teams that kind of air it out.

[00:37:04] But teams that play ball control, run blocking, extra blockers, short, quick passes.

[00:37:12] You don't give a lot of room for mistakes.

[00:37:14] Raekwon is my MVP.

[00:37:16] If they don't fumble the ball, Herbert's not going to put it in harm's way.

[00:37:20] I think he still has less than four or five interceptions on the season as of right now.

[00:37:25] So, without that, you know, them trying to air the ball out and making mistakes and short drives, I think just the ball control offense for the Chargers gets them to win.

[00:37:36] It won't be pretty, you know, it won't be a blowout.

[00:37:40] But it'll be something like 23-13, 23-16.

[00:37:45] Something like that where they're just holding the ball and New England's frantically trying to score when they get their opportunities after these three, four, five-minute drives that the Chargers put up.

[00:37:57] All right.

[00:37:59] Well, using ESPN, you know, the Chargers are favored by four and a half, you know, over under 42 and a half.

[00:38:09] And I got to straighten you out because you seem to have forgotten.

[00:38:13] The Patriots haven't given up yet.

[00:38:15] They went up 14-0 on Buffalo last week.

[00:38:19] You know, they got some fighting them.

[00:38:20] They got some spunk.

[00:38:21] And when you're a team like the Chargers.

[00:38:24] But Buffalo throws the ball around.

[00:38:26] Buffalo has short drives because you throw on first down, you run on second down, you throw on third down.

[00:38:33] Now you're putting the ball back New England.

[00:38:35] The Chargers aren't going to do that.

[00:38:37] Right.

[00:38:37] And that's the problem is that the Chargers play so conservative, as you said, that they're going to keep their opponents in the game.

[00:38:45] You know, there is potentially a J.K. Dobbins signing this weekend.

[00:38:50] They opened up his 21-day window.

[00:38:52] I doubt he'll play, but they did open up his 21-day window.

[00:38:57] I'm picking the Chargers just because of Harbaugh, honestly.

[00:39:01] You know, this is just one of those games where he's teaching this team how to win.

[00:39:07] Well, he's trying to, like, teach this team how to win.

[00:39:10] They're young.

[00:39:11] They don't know how to win.

[00:39:13] How to close out a game.

[00:39:15] Yeah, he's going to set the tone.

[00:39:16] And how to roll into the playoffs.

[00:39:18] There come the blasphemy.

[00:39:20] Here it comes.

[00:39:21] You know what I'm saying?

[00:39:22] You know what I'm saying?

[00:39:22] There is a hater amongst us.

[00:39:24] You know what I'm saying?

[00:39:28] James Cook about to lose his job to Ray Davis.

[00:39:31] He'll watch his back.

[00:39:32] You know what I'm saying?

[00:39:34] But, you know, yeah, I got the Chargers.

[00:39:35] But let's go to the Queen City we were talking about.

[00:39:38] You know, same thing.

[00:39:39] Denver winning in.

[00:39:41] Joe Burrow leading that offense.

[00:39:45] Denver top five defense.

[00:39:47] Only giving up, like, 18.7 points a game or something like that.

[00:39:53] But Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase out of this world.

[00:39:56] And if T. Higgins' hamstring is, you know, is good to go.

[00:39:59] I think I'm going to go high-powered offense beats defense because Chase is going to get open.

[00:40:09] And they're going to score a couple points, you know, a couple touchdowns in bunches.

[00:40:16] And it's going to cause Denver to have to maybe expand the playbook a little bit more.

[00:40:23] And that opens you up to mistakes.

[00:40:25] So I think Cincinnati puts pressure on.

[00:40:27] I have them going up, like, maybe 10-0 early in the second quarter.

[00:40:30] And it's like, okay, we got to get a drive going.

[00:40:33] And then they're throwing the ball around.

[00:40:35] And that's how.

[00:40:36] I know Cincinnati's defense isn't good.

[00:40:38] But you got a rookie quarterback.

[00:40:40] I think he's more likely to make the mistake that's going to impact the game.

[00:40:45] Well, you know, Jamar Chase is going to get circled and X'd out by PS2.

[00:40:55] That's what's going to happen this weekend.

[00:40:56] Has anyone done that?

[00:40:57] I'm not calling for a shutdown.

[00:41:01] I'm not saying he's going to hold him to three catches for 13 yards or anything like that.

[00:41:06] Eight catches, 116, and two touchdowns.

[00:41:09] No, I'm thinking more like six catches for 78 yards.

[00:41:17] So this is the problem.

[00:41:19] So Denver likes the blitz.

[00:41:21] They have the highest blitz rate in the league.

[00:41:24] Joe Burrell just happens to be the best quarterback against the blitz this season.

[00:41:30] But we talked about that wind.

[00:41:33] That wind going to be howling.

[00:41:35] So he grew up in Ohio.

[00:41:38] He plays games in Ohio.

[00:41:39] It ain't even about that.

[00:41:41] It ain't even about that.

[00:41:42] It's just the weather becomes the equalizer.

[00:41:46] You know, so Denver's defense is going to control the line of scrimmage.

[00:41:51] And to your point, Bo Nix has been in that rookie of the year conversation with Jaden Daniels.

[00:42:00] So this ain't Caleb Williams we're talking about here.

[00:42:02] This ain't Caleb football.

[00:42:03] We talking about Bo fucking Nix.

[00:42:06] Bo Nix is going to walk into the Queen City.

[00:42:09] And the Broncos are going to clinch a damn playoff.

[00:42:14] And Raleigh Moss is going to be back.

[00:42:17] So that's another white, another white quarterback at an intersection.

[00:42:21] He's going to neutralize T Higgins.

[00:42:23] But he also wears long speed.

[00:42:25] But to your point, but to your point, but to your point, but to your point, they do have a rookie quarterback.

[00:42:31] They also have the sixth best offense in the league.

[00:42:36] So this ain't Jim Harbaugh with the conservative offense.

[00:42:40] I know you don't like Sean Payton.

[00:42:43] But I expect to see some tricks up his sleeve this weekend.

[00:42:47] Cortland Sutton is the receiver that's going to have the game that you think Jamar Chase is going to have.

[00:42:53] I like that we disagree here.

[00:42:56] You know what I'm saying?

[00:42:56] I'm just saying.

[00:42:57] I'm a little biased.

[00:42:59] I'm just saying.

[00:42:59] I'm not a Payton.

[00:43:02] I'm a bully.

[00:43:02] Look, listen.

[00:43:03] Joe Burrow, I mean, hell, if he could, if they make the playoffs, then I think he should get votes for MVP.

[00:43:10] He should.

[00:43:10] He absolutely should.

[00:43:11] Because he's already coming.

[00:43:13] I would honestly say.

[00:43:16] I would honestly say he should win it, to be honest with you.

[00:43:20] 39 touchdowns, 4,200 yards.

[00:43:22] I would honestly say he should win it.

[00:43:23] The only problem is, though, it would have been nice if they would have beat the Ravens, you know, at least once.

[00:43:29] But the other thing about that, by the way, Mr. Logible, Cincinnati doesn't have a win against a team with a winning record this season.

[00:43:41] Yeah, but in those games, okay.

[00:43:44] In those games, they lost.

[00:43:46] Whatever you're about to say, finish it with, they lost.

[00:43:50] Joe Burrow in their losses.

[00:43:53] He had one bad loss, or one bad game in the loss.

[00:43:56] 56% completion.

[00:43:58] Don't be trying to do this SEC thing with me.

[00:44:00] 356.

[00:44:01] I'm just talking about, like, his performance.

[00:44:03] So, in their losses, he was 73% passing, 56%, 60%, 70%, 77%, 77%, 64%, and 73%.

[00:44:16] That was his completion percentage in those games.

[00:44:21] Lima.

[00:44:23] Lima, Lima, Lima, Lima, Lima.

[00:44:26] Yeah.

[00:44:26] So, four touchdowns in a game when he went for two.

[00:44:31] No, I think he should get MVP votes.

[00:44:33] You know, I would honestly say he would make the –

[00:44:37] They have to make the playoffs because –

[00:44:39] Right, they have to make the playoffs.

[00:44:40] He would have to get – he would have to overcome, like I said, this –

[00:44:46] A bottom-tier defense that has shown in games where he's had some of the biggest games of the year.

[00:44:52] Like, he threw five touchdowns in a game.

[00:44:55] Well, they lost to Baltimore the first time because the kicker missed a field goal in overtime.

[00:45:00] They lost the second time because of a non-pass interference that was called on the two-point conversion.

[00:45:06] You know what I mean?

[00:45:07] So, I mean, like, you know, anyway.

[00:45:10] You know, SoFi Stadium.

[00:45:11] You know, you got the Cardinals coming in earlier this season.

[00:45:15] That's the energy I like.

[00:45:19] You know what I'm saying?

[00:45:21] The Cardinals had a 41-14 win over the Rams in week two back when the Rams didn't have any weapons.

[00:45:29] The Rams, since their bye week, they were 1-4.

[00:45:33] They've won eight of their last ten.

[00:45:35] Cardinals trending the other way, you know, losing four out of five.

[00:45:39] So, Mr. Logical, I know, you know, we were joking around last year.

[00:45:43] Bryce Young with the 11 touchdown passes.

[00:45:45] He's only got ten right now.

[00:45:47] Of course, he was benched for a few games.

[00:45:49] But how do – how does Kyle O'Merry have a 1,000-yard rusher in James Conner, even though he's hurt now?

[00:45:59] He has Trey McBride, who's probably at least the second-best tight end in the NFL, third-best tight end in the NFL.

[00:46:08] They got Marvin Harrison Jr., you know, the big rookie pickup.

[00:46:11] They got my namesake, Michael Wilson, out there.

[00:46:15] How does this man only got 16 touchdowns and averaging 218 yards per game?

[00:46:21] Because he don't watch film.

[00:46:22] That's why they're going to get their ass kicked this weekend.

[00:46:25] Yeah, he don't watch film.

[00:46:26] There's no way you're as talented as you are.

[00:46:29] And like I said, the track record that he has for just being a winner, and you get to the NFL, and you look so unimpressive.

[00:46:38] But like I said, in high school, he could just go off of instinct, speed, and talent.

[00:46:42] The game came easy to him, but now you got –

[00:46:45] Oklahoma, same thing.

[00:46:46] Now you – like I said, I brought this up before.

[00:46:50] It's not my job to get Marvin Harrison the ball.

[00:46:53] Like, it's exactly your job.

[00:46:54] Like, you're supposed to – you're supposed to know these coverages, these routes, and tell him, if you break this route off here, like, come back this way, diagonally to the sideline, I can get the ball to you here.

[00:47:11] Like, you should see Tom Brady sit down on the sideline all the time.

[00:47:14] There's players, Mahomes and Kelsey, you can see them doing like the hand signals.

[00:47:18] Like, yeah.

[00:47:18] Yeah.

[00:47:19] Got it?

[00:47:20] Okay, cool.

[00:47:20] Got it.

[00:47:20] But even – I remember like – what's the boy named Tyler Lockett and Russell Wilson.

[00:47:28] Some of those throws is like, why did he throw that?

[00:47:31] But it's obviously a conversation to have.

[00:47:33] Like, listen, I'm getting to this back corner.

[00:47:37] Now, I'm throwing it to the back pylon.

[00:47:39] He's like, cool, I can get there.

[00:47:41] I can get both feet in because some of those catches and throws are incredible.

[00:47:44] But Kyle Murray, I just don't think he does that.

[00:47:46] I don't think he does that enough.

[00:47:47] I don't think he gets – like I said, the tight end has all these catches and then –

[00:47:52] 92 catches, no touchdowns.

[00:47:54] It's like, yo, at some point in the red zone, you got to be like, yo, this play gets him open for a touchdown.

[00:48:02] But I don't think he knows.

[00:48:04] And don't forget, you know, Marvin Harrison did have his best game of the season against the Rams in that game.

[00:48:10] 130 yards in the first quarter.

[00:48:12] And then it just – I don't know if that was the game where he got hurt.

[00:48:15] But he had 130 yards in the first quarter against them.

[00:48:18] So, you know, get him the ball.

[00:48:21] It is your job.

[00:48:22] So, of course –

[00:48:23] If they can get out of his contract, they will.

[00:48:25] So, you got Sunday night football where the Falcons are going to flail.

[00:48:30] You know, they're coming up to land over Maryland.

[00:48:32] The Michael Pennick show and his energy is coming to land over Maryland to get some of this here commander.

[00:48:40] You know, so this is the thing, right?

[00:48:44] I've been talking about how bad Washington's secondary is all year long.

[00:48:48] Is it clear? Is it clear?

[00:48:49] Yeah, take it off.

[00:48:50] And Mike Sanistro has come on, but the secondary still isn't very good.

[00:48:55] Now, the difference is with Atlanta, there's one player on that defense that scares me.

[00:49:04] And his name is Jesse Bates III.

[00:49:06] And A.J. Terrell, who's been third least amount.

[00:49:10] No.

[00:49:10] Because he's been so good.

[00:49:11] He don't scare me.

[00:49:13] You know why he don't get targeted?

[00:49:14] Because teams running it down Atlanta's throat.

[00:49:17] That's why he don't get targeted.

[00:49:19] Yeah, there's no pass rush.

[00:49:20] You know what I'm saying?

[00:49:21] So Jaden Daniels, you know what I'm saying?

[00:49:23] There's no 300-pound guy up front.

[00:49:25] So I want all of y'all out there to, you know what I'm saying, go find out what Jaden Daniels' prop is for rushing yards this weekend and take that.

[00:49:32] You know, he's going to get loose on the Falcons.

[00:49:35] The Falcons don't have a pass rush to speak of.

[00:49:40] The linebackers, they spy well.

[00:49:42] Linebackers that keep quarterbacks in the pocket.

[00:49:44] Like I said, they just don't rush the pass so well because there's – I know Chris Jones is a one-of-one talent.

[00:49:51] But I'm pretty sure there's guys in the draft that are 6'4", 310 pounds.

[00:49:58] Probably all played for Georgia.

[00:50:00] That you could have gotten just to eat up blocks in the middle.

[00:50:04] You're Vince Wilford type of player.

[00:50:06] Granted, he – you know, like people rave about him as far as his former teammates.

[00:50:11] But that kind of guy, Atlanta just doesn't have.

[00:50:14] Grady Jarrett is incredible at what he does.

[00:50:17] But he is limited because he's only six feet tall.

[00:50:20] You know, and he's limited.

[00:50:21] And he's coming off a couple injuries.

[00:50:23] So he can't always be the guy that pushes the pocket up the middle.

[00:50:27] Every other guy they put in their defensive line, they're like 275, 280.

[00:50:31] These interior guards are 330, 325.

[00:50:34] Like, and they're just moving them around.

[00:50:36] So it's a tough matchup.

[00:50:38] So it's going to have to be – Atlanta's going to have to keep the playbook simple.

[00:50:45] Get the ball to Mooney.

[00:50:47] They seem to have some rapport last week with the Giants.

[00:50:50] Sometimes the Giants can just give you fool's go.

[00:50:53] He's hitting those sideline throws.

[00:50:54] You think your team is better than you are.

[00:50:57] Your passing game is better than you are.

[00:50:58] But it could be just a bunch of guys out there going half speed for the Giants.

[00:51:02] I'm going to take Dan Quinn over – I'm going to take Dan Quinn against the rookie quarterback.

[00:51:06] The rookie quarterback making his second start.

[00:51:09] You know, like if this was Bo Nix where he's been playing all year, I probably wouldn't feel that way.

[00:51:14] Second start on the road and stuff.

[00:51:16] But I give him –

[00:51:18] Sunday Night Lights?

[00:51:20] Sunday Night Lights age.

[00:51:22] I mean, he's 24 or 25.

[00:51:25] Dane Lyon.

[00:51:26] He's 28.

[00:51:28] I've seen his birth certificate.

[00:51:30] Sports Reports is ordered exclusive.

[00:51:33] That bodes well.

[00:51:34] That bodes even better.

[00:51:35] So, rookie versus rookie.

[00:51:38] We'll see who can use their gifts.

[00:51:42] Because right now they can't lean on a lot of experience.

[00:51:44] I mean, Jaden has a few more – you know, he has double-digit games.

[00:51:48] But that's still not a ton of experience.

[00:51:52] So, we'll see who comes out on top.

[00:51:54] Yeah, I'm taking the –

[00:51:56] You know who I'm picking, so.

[00:51:57] Yeah, you're picking the commanders too.

[00:52:01] So, Green Bay going up to Minneapolis.

[00:52:04] The first time these two teams played, Jordan Love was coming off of an injury.

[00:52:09] Minnesota jumped out to a big lead.

[00:52:12] Green Bay came back.

[00:52:14] Minnesota held on for a 31-29 win.

[00:52:18] Should Matt LaFleur get some Coach of the Year considerations?

[00:52:22] Obviously, Kevin O'Connell should, so I didn't ask that one.

[00:52:25] But should Matt LaFleur?

[00:52:27] I mean, he won two games with Malik Willis, man.

[00:52:32] A castaway at that.

[00:52:34] His second and third games at that.

[00:52:36] So, it was like games you didn't think you were going to need them.

[00:52:39] Yeah.

[00:52:43] Yeah.

[00:52:43] Yeah.

[00:52:43] I think he should.

[00:52:45] I think Kevin O'Connell should.

[00:52:47] I think Mike Tomlin should.

[00:52:50] Uh-oh.

[00:52:51] You're about to get Mike riled up.

[00:52:52] I think Sean Payton should.

[00:52:56] Dan Quinn should get some consideration.

[00:52:58] I like Sean McDermott and Buffalo.

[00:53:01] It's a lot of coaches.

[00:53:04] I mean, here's.

[00:53:05] I mean, hell, I guess you might give Andy Reid some consideration.

[00:53:08] I was like, Andy Reid.

[00:53:09] You know, so I think the only thing that's going to impact Sean McDermott and.

[00:53:20] Because no one had them at 10 wins.

[00:53:22] It's not.

[00:53:23] You can't find a preseason poll from September.

[00:53:26] They had them leading the division this late in the season before, like, this last few games.

[00:53:32] He had Justin Fields, a guy that was given away by Chicago.

[00:53:38] And Russell Wilson, who another team is paying him $38 million to not play for them.

[00:53:45] And he brought those two guys together and got 10 wins out of them.

[00:53:51] I mean, like, that's.

[00:53:52] No one else is doing that.

[00:53:53] Oh, come on, Mike.

[00:53:54] You know the answer to that one.

[00:53:56] That was Baltimore, ain't it?

[00:53:59] You don't need a best win.

[00:54:01] This isn't college.

[00:54:02] You need wins.

[00:54:04] This isn't.

[00:54:04] This is not the CFP.

[00:54:06] This is the NFL.

[00:54:08] And he went out there with two cast off quarterbacks and got 10 wins.

[00:54:12] How many wins did Denver and Chicago get last year total?

[00:54:16] About 13?

[00:54:17] Maybe.

[00:54:19] 13.

[00:54:19] Like 12, baby.

[00:54:21] So Green Bay has scored 30 points in their last five games.

[00:54:29] They played all their division games in the last half of their schedule.

[00:54:33] Come on, man.

[00:54:34] This is facts over feelings over here.

[00:54:37] Facts over feelings.

[00:54:38] Their division was they played all their division games after week nine.

[00:54:44] Every single one of the division games have been in the latter half of the season.

[00:54:48] Nobody else's schedule was set up that way.

[00:54:50] And they closed with Cincinnati next week.

[00:54:51] And they played three games in 10 days.

[00:54:54] Like, that's Kansas City's schedule.

[00:54:57] So my key to this game.

[00:54:59] So my key to this game, right?

[00:55:02] I'm not going to do it.

[00:55:03] Mike McCarthy not getting no votes.

[00:55:05] I'm not going to do the thing where I'm like, I'm not going to do the thing where I'm like, hey, whoever wins the turnover battle is going to win this game.

[00:55:13] I'm not going to do that.

[00:55:14] What I'm going to say is who scores early?

[00:55:20] Both teams are top three in first quarter points this season.

[00:55:23] So which team can get off to the hot start?

[00:55:25] The first time they played, it was Minnesota.

[00:55:29] Green Bay needs this win.

[00:55:30] They're only three against Minnesota and Detroit this season.

[00:55:34] So like I said, if Minnesota wins, win or take all next week against Detroit.

[00:55:38] Jordan Love.

[00:55:39] If we go to that best loss thing, I think Green Bay has the best losses because it's Philly, Minnesota.

[00:55:47] Oh, that's what you want.

[00:55:48] And Detroit.

[00:55:49] Yeah.

[00:55:51] You know, that's the thing, right?

[00:55:53] Like, Mike's still going on.

[00:56:02] But, you know, but, you know, Minnesota.

[00:56:06] Yeah.

[00:56:06] He's not getting coach of the year if I was the only one voting.

[00:56:12] He upset me so bad.

[00:56:14] I like what Green Bay is doing right now.

[00:56:17] You know, I think Jordan Love hasn't had an interception since week 11.

[00:56:21] Minnesota is obviously the hot team in the league.

[00:56:24] But Green Bay has that opportunistic defense that I've been talking about all season.

[00:56:28] So give me Green Bay by that much.

[00:56:33] Yeah.

[00:56:33] I'll take the better quarterback making the third down and seven throw that keeps drives going.

[00:56:40] And that's Jordan Love.

[00:56:42] Yeah.

[00:56:43] I think it's command of the offense.

[00:56:44] I know.

[00:56:45] I like what Sam Donner's doing.

[00:56:46] I think he's showing what good coaching looks like.

[00:56:51] And I think Kevin O'Connell is probably going to win coach of the year because his quarterback play was.

[00:57:02] Yeah.

[00:57:03] We didn't even say that example.

[00:57:06] But I think Kevin O'Connell, I think he'll get a lot of votes because his star, his most important position player quarterback isn't a star.

[00:57:21] Right.

[00:57:21] Shama Dermott, star, has a star quarterback.

[00:57:25] John Harbaugh has a star quarterback.

[00:57:26] Andy Reid has a star quarterback.

[00:57:28] So I think Kevin, even Jared Goff, in my opinion, is a star.

[00:57:33] I think Mike Tomlin will get consideration because he had mediocre quarterbacks.

[00:57:40] Like over the last couple of years, those guys haven't been top tier quarterbacks.

[00:57:44] And he paired them up with his defense.

[00:57:47] The move ball.

[00:57:48] I think he'll get some votes.

[00:57:50] But like I said, it could just be fatigue with Mike Tomlin because he's at it so long.

[00:57:54] Andy Reid, the same thing.

[00:57:56] Even though they're 15 and 1, no one's going to be like, look what a great job Andy Reid did with that team.

[00:58:00] It's Mahomes and Kelsey and Reid.

[00:58:03] You know.

[00:58:03] And the defense.

[00:58:04] The spags.

[00:58:05] Like we know all the assistant coaches' names with the Kansas City Chiefs.

[00:58:09] Whereas Kevin O'Connell, I have no idea what it is.

[00:58:11] Like Brian Flores with the defense.

[00:58:14] Kevin O'Connell calls the plays.

[00:58:15] Those are the only two coaches I know on the staff.

[00:58:18] Like no one's running down a list of people who work all around the building like they do with Kansas City.

[00:58:23] And then what's that?

[00:58:26] Is that upset alert?

[00:58:29] Okay.

[00:58:30] Tampa Bay and Carolina.

[00:58:32] I got Carolina just because I need it.

[00:58:35] Tampa Bay and Carolina.

[00:58:37] You know, Dallas punked Tampa all over the yard last week.

[00:58:41] I think that we're starting to see who Tampa is.

[00:58:47] Now, granted, they've had some injuries.

[00:58:48] So, I don't want to just bag on them.

[00:58:50] But all year, I've been saying Tampa's defense isn't very good.

[00:58:54] You know, Chris Godwin's gone.

[00:58:57] He's been gone for a while now.

[00:58:58] They just played Carolina three weeks ago and went to overtime with them.

[00:59:04] Now, granted, that game was at Carolina.

[00:59:06] Now, why Tampa Bay is favored by seven and a half here?

[00:59:09] I have no idea.

[00:59:11] In that game that they played a couple of weeks ago, would you be surprised if I told you that Bryce Young threw for more yards than Baker Mayfield did?

[00:59:22] That's surprising.

[00:59:23] Yeah.

[00:59:24] By 63 yards, to be exact.

[00:59:27] I am starting Baker this week, and you're going down.

[00:59:30] You know what I'm saying?

[00:59:31] You're going down.

[00:59:32] But anyway, is Leggett going to play?

[00:59:35] That's going to be my only question for Carolina.

[00:59:37] Oh, man.

[00:59:38] I got some of that coon.

[00:59:39] Yeah, get some of that coon.

[00:59:40] But I feel like every time I turn on a Tampa Bay game, they're committing a turnover.

[00:59:47] That's what it looks like lately for me.

[00:59:49] They play a little loose.

[00:59:52] They play a little fun.

[00:59:54] I think they play with that Baker Mayfield.

[00:59:57] Or should I start Tua?

[00:59:59] Schoolyard kind of, you know, that demeanor.

[01:00:03] Yeah.

[01:00:03] And I think they're playing with house money.

[01:00:05] I think a lot of teams right here are just like, you know what?

[01:00:07] I don't think we should have been in this position with the injuries and everything else.

[01:00:11] And they're in a division that's, you know, their rival benched their starting quarterback.

[01:00:15] They're starting a rookie.

[01:00:17] They're probably thinking like, yo, we take care of business.

[01:00:19] I think they have Carolina and then they have the Saints.

[01:00:24] Yeah.

[01:00:24] Yeah.

[01:00:25] So I think they're looking like, yeah, we take care of business and we're good to go.

[01:00:29] Maybe if they lose this weekend, they're done.

[01:00:31] Yeah.

[01:00:31] And maybe Washington slips a couple of games and they get in anyway.

[01:00:34] So it's a lot of scenarios where they could still potentially get in.

[01:00:38] Oh, I think because I think everything else is pretty much locked up.

[01:00:42] Everybody else has already had 10 wins in on the verge of getting 11 at least if they don't

[01:00:48] have 11 already between Philly.

[01:00:50] You know, Philly, Minnesota, Green Bay and Detroit all having double digit wins already.

[01:00:55] They need somebody to falter if it's not Atlanta, if it's Washington.

[01:01:00] But luckily they have Carolina and New Orleans as their two final games.

[01:01:05] So if you if you want to end the season on a good note and you need to win, that's the schedule

[01:01:13] to have.

[01:01:13] So, yeah.

[01:01:14] So I ain't trusted no Kenny one glove.

[01:01:19] Give me the Cowboys.

[01:01:24] Since since since number 11 has been back, they've been a terror.

[01:01:30] Just like I said earlier, like we were talking we were talking about Dallas when Dak went

[01:01:34] out and they had all the injuries.

[01:01:36] People thought I was hating on like, no, it's like it's only so much NFL team can do when

[01:01:41] stars at every level are hurt.

[01:01:44] Your offensive line best players are hurt.

[01:01:47] Your quarterback is hurt.

[01:01:48] You don't have a deep running back room.

[01:01:50] Your wide receiver was hurt.

[01:01:53] Your defensive end was hurt.

[01:01:55] Your other defensive end was hurt.

[01:01:57] Your stand up outside linebacker plays defensive end was hurt.

[01:02:00] Your cornerback was out.

[01:02:02] The other Mike McCarthy was calling reverses on fourth and one.

[01:02:06] Mike McCarthy doesn't have a contract.

[01:02:08] The mood in the building was awful.

[01:02:10] So like it was only so much Dallas could do to where it was like it was easy to pick

[01:02:15] against them.

[01:02:15] But now you get a few guys back.

[01:02:17] They screened a couple of wins together.

[01:02:20] And they shut down Cedarian, though.

[01:02:23] So, you know, that's not good.

[01:02:24] But the first time Philly played them, it was Cooper Rush's first game.

[01:02:29] So, you know, obviously there was an adjustment to be had.

[01:02:33] And, you know, the Cowboys haven't really looked back since.

[01:02:36] You know, they held Saquon to 66 yards in that first matchup.

[01:02:39] Granted, it was on 14 carries.

[01:02:41] They didn't necessarily need to run the ball that day.

[01:02:44] A.J.

[01:02:44] Brown had it going on one of his few good games this year.

[01:02:48] So, you know.

[01:02:49] But I'm going to take Philly.

[01:02:50] Philly at home.

[01:02:51] I'm taking the Cowboys.

[01:02:52] I'm taking the Cowboys.

[01:02:53] I think the record.

[01:02:55] I know Sirianni because he said he went over to Saquon early in the year and asked him,

[01:03:03] like, hey, you're.

[01:03:04] I think he was, like, maybe, like, 12 yards away from either a personal best or maybe a Philly record,

[01:03:11] a Russian record.

[01:03:14] And Sirianni asked him if he wanted to go back in.

[01:03:16] And Saquon was like, now let the other guys eat.

[01:03:18] So, I think getting him as close as they can to that Russian record before next week.

[01:03:25] Sirianni said, I just came back from New Orleans.

[01:03:28] I don't know if Eric Dickerson into voodoo or not, but it's on my mind now.

[01:03:33] He already said he don't want that man to break the record.

[01:03:35] That was the first time, besides Mercury Morris, I never really heard somebody be like, nah,

[01:03:40] I don't want him to do it.

[01:03:42] Listen, I think the only old head that says something that I really love was Michael Irvin

[01:03:47] when he said, nah, don't retire 88 because every time somebody wear it and they do well,

[01:03:53] they're going to talk about me.

[01:03:54] If they wear it and they do poorly, they're going to talk about me.

[01:03:57] So, either way, they're talking about me.

[01:03:59] So, keep handing it down, young fella.

[01:04:00] Keep playing good in it.

[01:04:02] Well, you know I always say sports is poetry, right?

[01:04:06] Wouldn't it be fitting for Saquon to break the record against the Giants?

[01:04:09] Against the Giants.

[01:04:10] Wouldn't it?

[01:04:11] Hanswise said getting him as close as he can.

[01:04:14] Yeah, he needs 268 yards.

[01:04:16] He needs 268.

[01:04:17] To get it, you know.

[01:04:19] Jets and Bills.

[01:04:20] You know, I'm taking the Bills, but, you know, Josh Allen, 154 yards last week.

[01:04:27] Bills, Mike's point, he brought up the leader in sacks.

[01:04:30] The Bills have the least sacks in the league.

[01:04:33] So, I think this game is going to be a lot closer than it should be because Aaron Rodgers

[01:04:39] should actually have time to throw the ball.

[01:04:41] Now, with that being said, the problem is the Jets aren't going to start.

[01:04:45] They're not going to stop Buffalo.

[01:04:47] Buffalo.

[01:04:48] And Buffalo's number one in the league in turnover margin.

[01:04:50] So, give me the Bills.

[01:04:52] You know, I might take the Jets to cover.

[01:04:54] Let me see what the line is on that real quick.

[01:04:57] You know, but I got the Bills winning.

[01:05:03] Makes sense.

[01:05:04] I got the Bills.

[01:05:05] Nine and a half is the line.

[01:05:06] Woo.

[01:05:07] That's deep.

[01:05:08] Josh Allen is like, we see this in every, like, sports generation.

[01:05:17] Josh Allen was probably leading MVP.

[01:05:19] I think Saquon had the buzz.

[01:05:22] And then I think he took the lead.

[01:05:25] And then now, Lamar's last few games has just, they just, they just, they just been so outstanding.

[01:05:34] He's had everything.

[01:05:36] He's had the throw with the celebration.

[01:05:38] He had the run.

[01:05:39] The interaction with the children.

[01:05:42] I mean, it's like, Lamar's doing everything.

[01:05:44] He's doing, like, he's good at the podium.

[01:05:47] People are laughing and joking.

[01:05:49] He's doing everything right.

[01:05:52] And he's performing on the field.

[01:05:54] And his team just took over the division.

[01:05:56] So, Josh Allen is about to literally have 13 seconds in real life.

[01:06:04] Like, I had this game wrapped up and Mahomes came out 13 seconds, tied the game.

[01:06:09] It's always Lamar's defense that puts him over the top, though.

[01:06:12] You remember last year against San Francisco, the five interception game.

[01:06:16] And he got the ball at the 40 over and over.

[01:06:19] And somehow he won the MVP.

[01:06:21] This week, they held Houston to two.

[01:06:23] And we're talking about, like, oh, look at how great Lamar is.

[01:06:28] But he's, his end of it.

[01:06:30] No, he's playing well.

[01:06:31] But I'm just saying.

[01:06:32] I'm just saying.

[01:06:32] I'm not saying that.

[01:06:33] Listen, I think it's probably going to be co-MVP, like Steve McNair and Peyton Manning.

[01:06:42] But it's just something about the spectacular way Lamar plays.

[01:06:47] I think Josh Allen plays.

[01:06:49] But Josh Allen plays a lot like a sledgehammer.

[01:06:51] Just his runs and his throws.

[01:06:55] Like, you know, he plays.

[01:06:56] He wears a wig.

[01:06:57] He's big, very tough.

[01:06:58] Yeah.

[01:06:59] Lamar plays just like this.

[01:07:01] How are you this much faster than the fastest people who play football in this country?

[01:07:09] Like, how are you jogging to the end zone from the 20 with a safety chasing you, running his heart out.

[01:07:17] And you jog from the 20 and still beat him by five yards to the end zone.

[01:07:21] So it's like that kind of thing.

[01:07:23] Like, when he, when it's the type of stuff that he does, like the touchdown, he threw the likely when he was going back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, through the ball, let it go.

[01:07:32] Hand in here.

[01:07:33] It just, it just has a little bit more flair to it.

[01:07:36] And then you see like the, the flair and the, and the, and the, and like I said, the interviews, the locker room.

[01:07:42] Why are you acting like Derrick Henry, not second in the league in Russian though?

[01:07:49] Like, you know what I mean?

[01:07:50] Like I think Lamar Jackson is the MVP if it, if it was today, you know what I mean?

[01:07:55] We'll see, you know, next week Baltimore closes with Cleveland.

[01:07:58] They're probably going to have to play so they can win the division.

[01:08:01] You know, Buffalo's got the jets and the Patriots.

[01:08:05] So they both got chances to put up numbers to close out their case.

[01:08:09] But if it was today, I would say it's Lamar Jackson.

[01:08:14] Yeah.

[01:08:15] And, and if you said, if somebody said, Hey, for me, it's still Josh Allen.

[01:08:19] Because he is, he's carrying the team.

[01:08:23] We're talking about that.

[01:08:24] Not traditional, you know, like natural traditional powerhouse team that he had before.

[01:08:29] I'll give you that.

[01:08:30] But outside of Saquon, Lamar, Josh Allen.

[01:08:35] And if the Bengals make the playoffs, Joe Burrow.

[01:08:38] I don't want to hear any other names.

[01:08:40] Nobody thought Derrick Henry was done.

[01:08:43] He was just on a bad team.

[01:08:44] You know what I mean?

[01:08:45] But having the second leading rusher does help.

[01:08:48] Does help.

[01:08:48] Absolutely.

[01:08:49] Regardless of what James Kip has done.

[01:08:51] Having a good ring game helps every single quarterback except for Kyle Murray.

[01:08:54] Yeah.

[01:08:55] Zay Flowers is better than any receiver Buffalo has.

[01:08:59] You know, like what I said, Buffalo has the least sacks in the league.

[01:09:05] You know, the Ravens front seven causes issues.

[01:09:07] Their secondary isn't very good.

[01:09:09] But neither is Buffalo.

[01:09:11] But neither is Buffalo.

[01:09:12] They kept Kyle Hamilton back and say, hey, listen, we'll let these other linebackers do this tackling at the line of scrimmage.

[01:09:18] You stay back here and keep everything, everything umbrellaed up and we're good to go.

[01:09:23] All right.

[01:09:23] So, no, that was just running backs in general.

[01:09:26] That wasn't a Derrick Henry thing.

[01:09:29] That was a running back thing that they did to, yes, Zay is better than Cooper.

[01:09:32] And by the way, he's only had Cooper for not even half the season.

[01:09:36] Like Cooper wasn't on that team week one.

[01:09:39] You know what I'm saying?

[01:09:40] Like, come on now.

[01:09:41] You got to tell the whole story.

[01:09:42] The whole truth and nothing but the truth.

[01:09:45] You know what I'm saying?

[01:09:46] But rapid fire real quick, Mr. Logical.

[01:09:48] You know what I'm saying?

[01:09:48] Because none of these games really interest me.

[01:09:51] So, just let me know where you disagree.

[01:09:53] All right.

[01:09:54] Dolphins over the Browns.

[01:09:56] Got it.

[01:09:57] Coin flip.

[01:09:58] I'm taking Tennessee over Jacksonville just because I feel like Jacksonville wants that number one pick.

[01:10:03] Yeah, I think they want that number one pick.

[01:10:04] Yeah, Colts over the Giants.

[01:10:06] Yeah, we'll take that.

[01:10:08] Raiders over the Saints because Antonio Pierce is too stubborn to lose.

[01:10:12] You can't even lose the Saints.

[01:10:15] You can't lose the Saints.

[01:10:18] They can't score.

[01:10:19] Talk to Telesco.

[01:10:20] You know what I'm saying?

[01:10:23] And then closing it out, Monday Night Football.

[01:10:28] Sorry, 49ers.

[01:10:29] But, you know, the Lions going to throw that final dirt on the grave.

[01:10:33] I mean, you're already out of the playoffs anyway.

[01:10:35] But throw that dirt on the grave.

[01:10:37] Same thing.

[01:10:38] Like, there's only so much you can do when you're...

[01:10:41] It did beat Josh Allen.

[01:10:43] You know what I'm saying?

[01:10:44] They don't play against each other.

[01:10:46] Like, this ain't the NBA where I can go, Kyrie shot 57% against Anthony Edwards and Anthony Edwards only shot 39% against Kyrie or something like that.

[01:10:56] Like, you know what I mean?

[01:10:57] It's a rich tapestry of 17 games.

[01:10:59] It's a 17-game season.

[01:11:01] Head-to-head is for the playoffs, not for awards.

[01:11:04] You know what I'm saying?

[01:11:05] But, speaking of which, bruh, these people are upset about this 12-team playoff.

[01:11:16] These people are upset.

[01:11:19] You know, all these blowouts, like, oh my goodness.

[01:11:24] All the blowout memes stopped at the Tennessee loss, though.

[01:11:28] My timeline was flooded with SMU and Ole Miss would have done this.

[01:11:32] Well, because Paul Favre went to Tennessee.

[01:11:34] Why would he talk bad about it?

[01:11:35] Alabama would have done this.

[01:11:36] And as soon as Tennessee goes to Columbus and get that ass waxed on TV, Brazilian style.

[01:11:43] You know what's interesting to me, though?

[01:11:45] All that stuff stopped.

[01:11:46] I haven't seen one.

[01:11:47] I haven't seen one.

[01:11:49] Alabama would have been better than Tennessee.

[01:11:52] Ole Miss would have done better than Tennessee.

[01:11:55] South Carolina would have done better than Tennessee.

[01:11:57] Post.

[01:11:58] I didn't see a single one.

[01:11:59] Not a one.

[01:12:00] Not a one.

[01:12:01] But, hey, let me do this real quick.

[01:12:03] Here you go, Mike.

[01:12:04] Get your tapes ready.

[01:12:05] So, as I was looking at these blowouts, right?

[01:12:10] So, let me step back for a second because there's some things that need to be said here.

[01:12:16] So, everybody killed Indiana for getting killed by Ohio State.

[01:12:25] But they lost by less than Tennessee did.

[01:12:32] You know?

[01:12:33] Boise lost to Oregon by less than what Penn State did.

[01:12:40] So, all these talks about blowouts, right?

[01:12:43] So, in this first round, the margin of victory was 19.3 points.

[01:12:51] I'm rounding up.

[01:12:51] It was 19.25.

[01:12:52] I'm rounding up.

[01:12:54] During the 14 playoff, 10 years worth of data.

[01:13:00] The first round's margin of victory was 17 points.

[01:13:05] We are here in about two points.

[01:13:07] That's not it.

[01:13:09] When you look at the national title games of the 14 playoff, you had such scores as 42-20, 44-16, 52-24, 33-18.

[01:13:20] Your favorite, 65-7.

[01:13:22] Yeah.

[01:13:23] And 34-13.

[01:13:25] So, that's an average.

[01:13:26] Those games I just named, that's 60% of your 14 playoff national title games, average of 30.3 points.

[01:13:35] And I know that 58-point game stands out as the outlier, but still, 30.3 points.

[01:13:41] But if I'm adding—

[01:13:42] Hold on real quick.

[01:13:43] Clemson beat Bama like that.

[01:13:45] That was the 44-16.

[01:13:45] Yeah, that was the 44-16, yep.

[01:13:47] And Bama is a top-tier program.

[01:13:49] These kind of games happen.

[01:13:52] They happen.

[01:13:52] You can't predict it.

[01:13:53] And I think everyone's been trying to be predictors and say, like, oh, this wouldn't happen.

[01:13:57] It's like, you play the regular season game.

[01:13:59] You get qualified when you get enough wins.

[01:14:02] And then when you get enough wins, you can be put in the conversation.

[01:14:05] If you don't have enough wins, you're on the outside of the conversation and you need a little help.

[01:14:10] That's what happened this year with the 12-team playoff.

[01:14:12] Right.

[01:14:12] They picked 16 teams.

[01:14:14] They had 16 eligible teams.

[01:14:16] It's just that out of that 16, you only had 12 spots.

[01:14:20] Everybody can't go to the prom.

[01:14:21] There's only 12 tickets.

[01:14:22] But even if I add the close national title games to that four-team scenario and give you all 10 four-team national title games, the average score is 37.6 to 21.7.

[01:14:39] Or an average of 15.9.

[01:14:42] So, yeah, it brought it down.

[01:14:44] But it's still in line with what we saw last weekend, first of all.

[01:14:48] So, with that being said, you know, to take it a step further, let's just say the committee decided to go 1 through 12.

[01:15:00] Forget conference affiliation, all that stuff, but just 1 through 12.

[01:15:05] This is the top 12.

[01:15:06] These are the teams that are in.

[01:15:07] So, you know, but think about this too, Mr. Logical and Mike.

[01:15:12] This is where you got to think about it.

[01:15:13] The reason that the playoff is so fucked up right now is conference realignment.

[01:15:20] Because if we didn't have this big conference shift that we had, you would have Oregon right now as the Pac-12 champion.

[01:15:28] You know what I mean?

[01:15:28] And they're the only undefeated team in the country, by the way.

[01:15:31] You would have Texas as the big 12 champion.

[01:15:34] So, those would be your top two seeds probably.

[01:15:37] You got Georgia as your SEC champion.

[01:15:41] Ohio State potentially as your Big Ten champion.

[01:15:45] Maybe Penn State.

[01:15:46] Whatever.

[01:15:47] You know, your three.

[01:15:47] Or maybe even Indiana.

[01:15:49] Depends on how the math math out.

[01:15:50] Right.

[01:15:51] But hold on.

[01:15:51] Because they had two losses.

[01:15:53] Right.

[01:15:54] Hold on.

[01:15:54] I'm getting there.

[01:15:55] But that's the thing.

[01:15:56] Your five seed would probably be Miami.

[01:15:58] Miami.

[01:15:59] Because we'll just call Miami the ACC champion in that scenario.

[01:16:02] Because there's no SMU.

[01:16:04] You know.

[01:16:05] So, then your six through 12 would probably be Notre Dame, Penn State, Clemson, Ole Miss, Bama, South Carolina, Boise.

[01:16:13] So, you get your three crybabies in.

[01:16:15] In that scenario if you've ranked it like that.

[01:16:18] But with the conference realignment piece back to Indiana.

[01:16:22] That's why Indiana was in the playoff.

[01:16:25] Because they didn't play Oregon during the regular season.

[01:16:28] They didn't play Penn State during the regular season.

[01:16:31] Because there's 77 teams in the Big Ten.

[01:16:33] Yeah.

[01:16:34] All they had to do was split Michigan and Ohio State.

[01:16:36] Which they did.

[01:16:38] And even if they would have lost to Michigan, you still might have let them in.

[01:16:42] 10-2.

[01:16:43] Nah.

[01:16:44] Not 10-2 Indiana.

[01:16:46] They had to be 11 wins.

[01:16:48] If 10-2 Mama, 10-2 Ole Miss, they get in.

[01:16:51] Like we understand that there's caveats.

[01:16:52] The problem was all the people who were clamoring for the three SEC schools were trying to ignore or just kind of expound on the caveat.

[01:17:04] We understand that there is a little bit of leeway given the SEC schools.

[01:17:08] Because they do have their top teams are tougher than a lot of other conferences' top teams.

[01:17:16] Their other teams are on par.

[01:17:19] Your Kentucky is on par with most of your ACC schools.

[01:17:23] Vanderbilt's on par with most of your Big 12 schools.

[01:17:25] But we get it.

[01:17:26] The top tier teams in the SEC, they get a little bit of a bump.

[01:17:31] They get a – like you're grading on the curve.

[01:17:33] Like, you know, it's like when you take a college class in high school and you get an A in it, it's higher than a regular 4.0.

[01:17:39] We understand that.

[01:17:40] But they weren't that team.

[01:17:42] They were 9-3.

[01:17:44] If they were 10-2, I think you might be able to slide SMU out.

[01:17:50] But if all things created equal, if SMU's name was Miami and Indiana's name was Michigan and those games played out the same way,

[01:18:01] we probably wouldn't be having the same amount of dialogue that we're having.

[01:18:06] Michigan played Indiana schedule, didn't play for a conference championship, but they were 11-1.

[01:18:11] They only lost Ohio State.

[01:18:12] And they would have went and lost to Notre Dame.

[01:18:13] People would have just said, wow, we got Notre Dame and Michigan in a playoff game.

[01:18:17] Like, oh, that rivalry, the greatness of that rivalry, that doesn't really happen anymore because Notre Dame chickened out.

[01:18:25] But anyway, you know, if that's the case, then why don't we just go back to opinions deciding the national title?

[01:18:32] Like, remember pre-BCS where teams would play in bowl games and not even play against each other?

[01:18:39] Somebody would roll back in saying who was the number one team.

[01:18:42] You know, I don't know if Miami should have been there, to be honest with you.

[01:18:45] You know what I mean?

[01:18:45] Like, I can't say that they can because I never saw Miami stop anybody.

[01:18:49] You know what I mean?

[01:18:50] Like, they won games, but I never saw them stop anybody.

[01:18:53] Like I said, they had – everybody's not –

[01:18:57] What they didn't do was beat Syracuse.

[01:18:59] Everyone's not given the same grading criteria.

[01:19:05] Everyone's not getting the same rubric.

[01:19:07] Like, some people went to this professor.

[01:19:10] Some people went to this professor.

[01:19:11] Some people went to this professor.

[01:19:12] But at the end of the year, who's a salutatorian?

[01:19:16] Who's coming to the lottery?

[01:19:17] This is what you got.

[01:19:18] Like, you did everything you got, but per the rubric from this professor, this is what you got.

[01:19:25] Alabama, you had an opportunity to go 10-2 because they would have played in the SEC championship game.

[01:19:33] I think even if they lose, 10-3 Alabama still gets in.

[01:19:38] Probably.

[01:19:38] Because that means they had –

[01:19:39] They said Duton was going to be in either way.

[01:19:41] Because they would have had the loss to Tennessee, and they would have had a loss to Vanderbilt, which, you know, it happens.

[01:19:49] A game like that happens.

[01:19:51] And then they would have been 10 wins.

[01:19:53] If they would have dominated – if they would have beat Oklahoma the way we were expecting to beat them by whatever the spread was –

[01:19:59] They would be in.

[01:19:59] It was 14-1.

[01:20:01] 14-1.

[01:20:01] 14-1.

[01:20:01] If they won that game 31-13, they're in.

[01:20:07] It would have been a no-brainer.

[01:20:08] No question's asked.

[01:20:08] They're in.

[01:20:09] If Ole Miss doesn't lose that home to Kentucky, scoring 17 points in that game, they're in the playoff.

[01:20:16] They might have been able to bump Indiana out of a 10-2 Ole Miss.

[01:20:21] You might have been able to pull Indiana out because you would have been able to argue –

[01:20:24] But I sat here for five minutes, and I came up with a better playoff than they did.

[01:20:30] Because in my playoff, you know, with the conference realignment not happening,

[01:20:34] you would have had your buys, Oregon, Texas, Georgia, Ohio State would have been your buys.

[01:20:41] Versus now people are complaining because Boise and Arizona State get a buy because the auto bids.

[01:20:47] And people don't like the auto bids.

[01:20:48] The only reason people don't like the auto bids is because that means less SEC teams.

[01:20:53] That's the only reason people don't like it.

[01:20:54] What other sport do you win your division or conference and you don't get to play in the playoff or get a chance at the championship?

[01:21:03] No other sport.

[01:21:04] Now, you know, with NIL and the transfer portal here, this year could be an anomaly.

[01:21:11] You can't change the rules every time you don't get the result that you want.

[01:21:16] You know, because that's what's going to happen, right?

[01:21:18] They're going to go to 14.

[01:21:20] They're going to pull auto bids.

[01:21:23] They're already talking about the SEC and the Big Ten politicking to get four each automatically.

[01:21:29] So instead of conference champions getting automatic bids, you're trying to give automatic bids to two conferences.

[01:21:36] Which is unnecessary.

[01:21:39] Which is unnecessary.

[01:21:39] Because, like, I heard someone talking this week.

[01:21:44] It was like, if you didn't like how the season ended up and you were like, you know what?

[01:21:54] These three teams should have been in.

[01:21:56] And it's like, well, one team lost to two other teams out of their three losses.

[01:22:02] So you can't jump them in.

[01:22:04] The other team lost to two teams that they were favored by a total of, like, 30-something points.

[01:22:09] How are you going to put them in?

[01:22:11] It's like, you got the results at the end of the year.

[01:22:15] Everybody wasn't going to get in.

[01:22:17] But you can't just ignore that the threshold was double-digit wins.

[01:22:23] Like, that's the bare minimum.

[01:22:25] Everyone knew that.

[01:22:27] You weren't going to go 8-4.

[01:22:28] It used to be like that with the Heisman.

[01:22:30] Winning the Heisman, your team was either undefeated, one loss.

[01:22:35] And so I believe Tebow had, like, an outstanding season.

[01:22:38] They were, like, 8-4 or something.

[01:22:40] Johnny Manziel, I think, had two or three losses.

[01:22:42] Two losses or something like that.

[01:22:44] But just the year was outstanding.

[01:22:46] They were, okay, we understand.

[01:22:47] Robert Griffin III, same thing.

[01:22:49] Outstanding year.

[01:22:50] You know, only, like, nine wins or something like that.

[01:22:53] Yeah, they were 9-4 that year, yeah.

[01:22:54] Yeah, we understand that there's caveat.

[01:22:56] You know, there's like.

[01:22:57] But that's where, but that's why I brought up earlier this year when we were doing our college football preview.

[01:23:02] That's why I brought up maybe we need to take a page out of the college basketball book and have a challenge.

[01:23:08] Have these challenges.

[01:23:09] ACC Big Ten Challenge or SEC, you know, Big 12 Challenge or whatever.

[01:23:15] Because there's no way.

[01:23:17] Like, you're always going to give the SEC benefit of the doubt.

[01:23:20] So there's no way for anybody to have a chance.

[01:23:22] Big Bigs, then your preseason schedule can have, I'm going to get Mercer, some school from San Antonio, and some school from Northern Alabama that you pay $4 million to come practice at your facility in front of the fans, essentially.

[01:23:46] Right.

[01:23:46] It was like, everybody, they need to sit down.

[01:23:49] Like, you did all this conference for alignment.

[01:23:51] We got it.

[01:23:52] Because what's going to happen is this.

[01:23:56] If you want Texas to play a tougher schedule and they, Texas can't be the only SEC schools playing all the other tough SEC schools.

[01:24:08] Like, Texas this year, you got to go LSU, Georgia, Alabama, armored, back to back to back to back to back.

[01:24:13] Well, that's pretty much what Georgia did.

[01:24:16] But it shapes up that way.

[01:24:18] But you can't mandate that within conference because you can't do it for everybody.

[01:24:21] What you can do is say, hey, Big 10, Big 12, SEC, ACC, you, if you want to be, if you want to get the lead, you got to play another one of these tough out-of-conference games week one.

[01:24:38] So, Georgia, Clemson, that was perfect.

[01:24:41] Texas, you might have to go Texas, Ohio State week one.

[01:24:46] Or Penn State, you might have to play SMU week one.

[01:24:51] Or just something along those lines.

[01:24:53] You're going to have to schedule one of the other conferences' top four schools in your first four weeks.

[01:25:00] Either the first week, which is probably the best time to do it.

[01:25:03] You get your win or your loss out of the way early.

[01:25:05] Because if you get the win early, it can't pull you up the rankings.

[01:25:09] And if you get the loss early, it's like, you know what?

[01:25:12] It's Penn State playing against Georgia and Atlanta.

[01:25:16] We get it.

[01:25:17] And you'll be able to – that'll be your best loss and you get to make your way back up through your regular schedule.

[01:25:24] Because no one can say, oh, you didn't play a tough schedule.

[01:25:26] Yeah, I did.

[01:25:26] Played Georgia week one.

[01:25:28] August 24th.

[01:25:29] You know what the closest –

[01:25:30] Georgia.

[01:25:31] You know what the closest game of the first round was?

[01:25:37] Lowly Clemson at Texas.

[01:25:40] You know what I mean?

[01:25:41] So, it's like, how do you determine without playing it on the field?

[01:25:45] How do you determine who deserves to be in?

[01:25:47] And you can't look at the results after the fact and say, well, that team shouldn't have been in because they lost.

[01:25:53] Or, you know, whatever the case may be.

[01:25:55] Because, like, we could do that every year with basketball.

[01:25:57] Especially with, like, with Ole Miss and Bama.

[01:26:00] Because they had such bad losses.

[01:26:03] There's nothing you can really hold your head on and say they definitely would have beat Penn State.

[01:26:08] It's like, yo, two of their three losses were pretty bad.

[01:26:12] And that's where the argument gets – where it gets hypocritical, right?

[01:26:16] Because the argument for South Carolina was, look at how they're playing now.

[01:26:22] You know what I mean?

[01:26:23] But Bama beat Georgia back when Georgia was at the height of their powers.

[01:26:28] You know what I mean?

[01:26:29] But I'm not counting that to elevate Bama.

[01:26:32] And, oh, by the way, Bama beat South Carolina.

[01:26:34] So, within your own conversation, you don't make sense.

[01:26:38] You're eliminated.

[01:26:38] You're not loyal to your logic because you're logically loyal to you.

[01:26:41] And that's where, you know, it's nerve-wracking because even people like –

[01:26:46] So, they wanted five SEC schools in.

[01:26:49] They wanted Texas, Georgia, Ole Miss.

[01:26:52] I told you they were going to try to get –

[01:26:53] And it doesn't help.

[01:26:54] But think about it, though.

[01:26:55] It doesn't help, right?

[01:26:56] Because you got the what?

[01:26:57] The college football playoff committee.

[01:26:59] The show every week is on what channel?

[01:27:02] What is ESPN?

[01:27:04] ESPN got a contract with what conference?

[01:27:08] They got ACC.

[01:27:10] SEC.

[01:27:10] And the SEC.

[01:27:11] And the SEC.

[01:27:12] And then you got Curb Street out here, you know what I mean?

[01:27:15] Like carrying the water, basically.

[01:27:17] And, you know, and, of course, you know, he had this little beef with Shannon Sharp

[01:27:20] or whatever, you know.

[01:27:23] I could see that fight.

[01:27:24] You know what I mean?

[01:27:25] But that's where college football has got it wrong.

[01:27:28] It is so mind-numbing because college football is such a great sport.

[01:27:33] The passion, the pageantry, you know, the rivalries, the fan interactions

[01:27:39] and all that stuff that come with it.

[01:27:41] But the people that – the powers that be can't get it right.

[01:27:44] Like people, mainly like Lane Kiffin, you can't – you can't talk about how tough your hood is

[01:27:56] and then when somebody wants to fight you, he's like, I ain't here for that.

[01:28:03] Like, listen, you can't talk about how tough – oh, we would have done this, we would have done that.

[01:28:07] Like, well, you had the opportunity to win your games.

[01:28:09] And all you've been doing is whining ever since you didn't get in as if you did not deserve to get in.

[01:28:15] Like you deserve to be left out of the 12.

[01:28:18] And that's the part that bothers me.

[01:28:19] Like that's the thing that bothers me.

[01:28:21] Like per your performance on the field, you deserve to be left out of the 12.

[01:28:25] Right.

[01:28:26] Nothing about what you did says I'm definitively a championship contending team.

[01:28:32] And that's the thing.

[01:28:33] It doesn't matter what I think.

[01:28:34] You're just a really good team in a good conference.

[01:28:35] It doesn't matter what I think because I think that Ole Miss probably could beat half the teams in the playoff.

[01:28:40] I don't think so.

[01:28:41] But you lost the team.

[01:28:42] Because I didn't like the way their quarterback played in the league.

[01:28:43] You lose to Arizona State or Boise for all I know.

[01:28:46] I don't like the way their coach reacts when things don't go his way.

[01:28:50] I've always questioned his maturity.

[01:28:51] I think his swag is hilarious.

[01:28:53] But I question it very akin to Nick Ceriani.

[01:28:56] He's like, you should be done tweeting by now.

[01:28:59] Nick Saban did his pleading on TV.

[01:29:02] Hey, we lost two games on last second field goals.

[01:29:05] I don't see why we can't get in.

[01:29:07] Yeah, my man said who would be favored.

[01:29:09] You know?

[01:29:10] And that was it.

[01:29:10] And that's all he said.

[01:29:12] He didn't go tweet every single week to the point where people have to reply to him.

[01:29:18] Like, yo, if you coached as good as you tweeted, your team would have been in.

[01:29:22] Like, if you see that Ohio State is favored.

[01:29:26] Against Oregon?

[01:29:27] Yeah.

[01:29:29] Maybe they feel like the bye week hurt Oregon or like the shenanigans at the end of the game when their first matchup.

[01:29:38] Well, you know, like if they had those seven seconds back, they'd be able to get a field goal off.

[01:29:42] You know, we were talking about it off air.

[01:29:44] You know, how would you like to beat Oregon?

[01:29:46] You know, you get your first game against Ohio State who had a tune-up game or whatever you want to call it.

[01:29:51] Then if you win, you're most likely playing Texas down at Jerry World.

[01:29:57] Like.

[01:29:59] I think giving up 37 points to Penn State in the championship game is probably why they, that Ohio State's favorite.

[01:30:08] And the game's in California.

[01:30:10] So it's not like, I mean, Ohio State fans are everywhere.

[01:30:13] Yeah.
