[00:01:59] But You Know Saying We Must Do What We Must Do So Week 1 Had A Lot Of Teams That Are Coming Into Week 2 With A Lot Of Questions Denver Being One Of Them The Rams Being Another What Are Those Questions Well For Denver The Question Is Are We Really That Bad For The Rams The Question Is Why Did We Come
[00:02:30] Come To Australia The Day Before The Game The Game Of The Game Okay But Week 2 Is Where We Start To Get A Little Bit Of Answers What'S Real What'S Real What'S A Facade Now That Some Of These Teams Have Humbled We're Waiting On Their Response So Did The Jaguars For Example Did They Benefit From Playing The Cleveland Browns Are They That Good Are They In Fact A Super Bowl Contender Now I Do Think That Their Offense Is The Real Deal I Am Not So Sure About Their
[00:03:00] They're Defense You Know And You Know This Is
[00:03:18] They're Gonna Win Win Many Games
[00:03:51] They're Gonna Win And You Know It
[00:04:17] definitive answers about Jacksonville this weekend because I do think that they benefited from playing Cleveland. Did Denver need a kick in the ass? Like we just had preseason and a lot of these guys don't play, which is one of my number one complaints anyway, is that, you know, you got to practice how you play. You got to preseason how you play. So in the last couple of years, they even took a preseason game away, but the players that matter play less. So coming into
[00:04:47] week one, usually the offenses are a step behind, but it looked like the offenses are right on track right now. To Chris's point, Denver was just a product of missed tackles. You know, it was just a product of being on the road, I think, and not matching intensity. They did have Davis Webb calling plays for the first time. You notice, and this is the first
[00:05:14] time that a Sean Payton team has a play caller that is not Sean Payton. So, you know, I think that Denver has an opportunity this weekend to get right. You know, Jacksonville coming in high. Everybody's falling in love with them, falling at Trevor Lawrence's heels. This is a chance for Denver to get back on track and they better because the schedule is coming up, right?
[00:05:41] The Chargers. What are the Chargers? We saw that egg that they laid against Arizona. Now, before the season started, you know, I thought that Arizona was probably one of the worst teams in the league. Even though I do like a lot of players on their roster. I like Walter Nolan. I like Buda Baker. I like Will Johnson. I like Michael Wilson. Not because his name is Michael Wilson.
[00:06:04] Trey McBride. They have talent, but it's just that collection doesn't work well together. It's not well-oiled yet because there's a lot of youth and, you know, you're waiting on Jacoby Brissett, who is putting up numbers. But as we go back to last season, we know that those numbers don't necessarily equate to victories all the time. So we're going to find out about the Cardinals this
[00:06:32] weekend because they got the Super Bowl champion coming in. And I'm not even saying that they got to win the game. You know what I mean? Even though Drew Locke is the quarterback, because Sam Donald's going to miss three to six weeks. So I'm not even saying that the Cardinals have to win this game, but they have to be competitive. It has to be back and forth. It has to be you just lost because you don't know how to win, right? We're talking about the Super Bowl champions. You know,
[00:06:59] we're talking about that defense. So if Jacoby can take care of the middle of the field the way that he did against the Chargers, they can very well win that game. All right. The Giants, can they survive by bleeding clock? Are other teams going to allow them to do what Dallas let them do? The answer to that question is no. We know that already. But if that's not, if they can't hold on to
[00:07:28] the ball and keep the other offense off the field, how do we know how good their defense is? You know, they still have a weak secondary. They still have a weak receiving core. You know, they got Malik Nabors back. Awesome. But the rest of the core is not necessarily anything to write home about. They're going out to LA on Monday night to play a team that got their pants pulled down in
[00:07:52] Australia. You know, that they had hype for a reason. They lost that game. The 49ers won that game. No question about it. The 49ers whooped them. But people felt about the Rams the way that they felt about the Rams for a reason. Talent. Coaching. They've been there before. You know, they got the MVP,
[00:08:17] the reigning MVP, you know. So I think the Rams will be fine. So week two, it's a little early to talk about contenders. But let's talk about this. Three teams in the Super Bowl era. Three teams have started 0-2 and won the Super Bowl. That's the 1993 Dallas Cowboys, 2001 Patriots, and 2007 Giants.
[00:08:45] The 1996 Patriots made the Super Bowl, but they lost to the Packers. Desmond Howard, Super Bowl MVP. But that just goes to show you, week two is important. Now, is it going to define a season per se? No. You know, I'm sure there's teams out here that can go 0-2. If the Rams lose Monday night, they might be in trouble just because of the psychological part of that. Because you were
[00:09:12] on top of the world. Everybody was throwing rose petals at you. And then you came out and started 0-2. So that could have an effect. You know, but as you look around the NFL, you know, you look at a team like Denver. If they lose to Jacksonville this weekend, I don't think their season is over. They got a tough schedule. But as Josh Pate likes to say, you only play one team at a time.
[00:09:35] So I can look at your schedule and collective and say, oh man, they got to go here. They got to go there. But they're not doing that all at once. So you just got to win one at a time. Slow and steady wins the race. Right? You know, what do I take away from Washington with the performance against Philadelphia? Is that true Washington? Or do they look even better this week because of Dallas's
[00:10:05] defense? The Bears ain't going to score 59 this week. That defense is going to get had at some point. But I don't know if Minnesota has the quarterback to do it. So if the Bears go 2-0, I expect people to go crazy and start talking about how the Bears are a contender, how the Bears are going to win the division. What up, Mike? One Mike podcast in the house. Make sure y'all checking that out
[00:10:34] to get your independent black news, to get your sports takes. You know what I'm saying? He do hot takes a little bit better than I do. I just try to come with the stats. But you know what I'm saying? He'll have you laughing out the room. But you know, but yeah, like I think that Washington is a cluster of a team. Like they're going to be one of those up and down teams week to week where they're going to beat some
[00:10:59] teams that they shouldn't, like maybe a Cincinnati when they play down the road. But then they could turn around and lose to an Arizona. You know what I mean? So that's what I want to see. I want to see week two. What I saw in week one, what was real, what wasn't, and how do we deduce that? You know, I appreciate you. You know what I'm saying? So we're going to start this off because it's time to get
[00:11:24] to some picks. So let's start this off in Foxboro where the Super Bowl runner up Patriots are coming in down bad. Now you ain't going to throw shade at anybody for losing at Seattle. I don't care if Seattle goes five and 12 at some point. You had to work to get the win in that stadium. Regardless, that's just how it is. So the Patriots went up there. Revenge on their mind.
[00:11:53] And I honestly think that Drake may just press too much. He just pressed too much. I know he's out, man. Frankie Louvoo's out. Chicken Kong Wu's out. You know, so, so, you know, I think that there's not much to take away from that game outside of the fact that their defense played relatively well. You know, outside of JSN, you know, breaking that touchdown, the Patriots defense
[00:12:22] played as well as you can play and, you know, play well enough to easily win that game. The Patriots had success running up the middle on Seattle. You know, they should not be able to do that against the Steelers. But if we go back to last year, for example, New England, remember,
[00:12:41] they came off and played Pittsburgh and Foxborough, had five turnovers, lost that game 21 to 14. And that was one of those games early in the season where people said, oh, the Patriots ain't ready. Oh, the Patriots can't get off the ground. And all they did was go make the Super Bowl after that. So I think that they have a very live chance to win this game, because even if you look at the Steelers
[00:13:11] last week, it took Aaron Rodgers 40 passes to get 221 yards. Okay. You know, I think that they played Atlanta and they forced turnovers. That T.J. Watt interception was absolutely insane. But they still struggled in that game against Atlanta. There was no Tua. There was no Penix.
[00:13:40] You know, and I think that if Atlanta had a decent quarterback worth a damn, except for Deshaun Watson, they could probably win that game against the Steelers last week. So I don't know. The Steelers were a team that I was high on coming into this season. And it's still early. I'm not going to make any definitive statements in either direction, but that game did not inspire confidence.
[00:14:06] Now, what you have here where it could get a little crazy for the Patriots is that A.J. Brown is out. You know what I mean? Can Romeo Dobbs rebound? You know, because he had an awful game in his first game as a Patriot. Pittsburgh's defense is going to keep this a close game. Carlton Davis
[00:14:34] didn't practice late this week. Is he going to be there? And every time I say Carlton Davis, I swear, I have to tell my brain, don't say Carlton Banks. I swear. The Patriots offensive line. You know, you look at them and you say, well, Seattle was getting through. They were penetrating. They forced Drake Mann to making those mistakes. They did. The Steelers are going to do the same thing. But now this is where Josh McDaniels has to switch up the game plan a little bit.
[00:15:03] Stick to what's working, because a lot of times in the NFL and, you know, and Mike knows how I feel about this. Even last night, as great as Josh Allen played, Buffalo still didn't give James Cook the ball enough. And that's where we are in the NFL. Like so Ramondre Stevenson held on to the football last week, punished Seattle. But they just got to get the quarterback, the hero moment.
[00:15:30] They got to put the quarterback in the spot where the game is won or lost on his arm. It doesn't have to be that way. McDaniels got to be better. That is as simple as that. So you know what I mean? Like, it's just, I don't know how different this game, the score will be than the Seattle game was. I think it'll look different. I think the Patriots will hold on to the ball a little bit,
[00:15:59] have longer drives. I think Pittsburgh is going to play a little bit better, just because I don't think they could play any worse than they played last week. But in the end, I'm going to take the Patriots at home in a 19 to 14 game. Then we got one of my favorite games of the week, Cincinnati going to Houston. And this is another one of those week one, what was real and what is not.
[00:16:24] Because if you watch all these TV shows, all you hear about is how great Cincinnati's defense played. And you know what? Looking at the box score, they did. Minus the fact that they gave up 27 points. Now, why is that a big deal? Well, the reason that 27 points is a big deal is because they were up 21 to three.
[00:16:51] It's because they forced four turnovers against Tampa. And they won that game by six points. Tampa put up 27. That's not what good defenses do. Now, they got out of there because they forced those turnovers. You know, Baker Mayfield fumbled twice in the damn self. So, did Cincinnati's defense play good?
[00:17:19] Or did Tampa kind of give them the game on a silver platter? You know what I'm saying? Now, with that being said, you know, the other side of the ball. Jamar Chase, two catches for 12 yards last week. Tee Higgins was kind of quiet. They're saying that Joe Burrow has a back issue. And you know, I picked Cincinnati to win this division. But the part of that is he got to be on the field.
[00:17:49] Now, he's going to play this week. You know what I mean? Hopefully, he can stay this week. But the other question on the other side is, did Houston's offense take steps forward? Or is Buffalo's defense a little shaky? Now, I go back to last night, and they dominated Detroit whistle to whistle. Detroit still scored 31 points. Houston moving the ball on Texas Tech again.
[00:18:19] But the Lions still scored 31 points, okay? So, Shamar Stewart is coming back for the Bengals. But if you watch that game last week against Tampa, you see those Cincinnati linebackers dazed and confused. You know what I mean? And that's the wrong place because you know why? Now the Texans can run the ball. They have David Montgomery, Woody Marks, but more so David Montgomery, of course.
[00:18:49] But they can run the ball now. If C.J. Stroud, oh, it looks like Houston just turned the ball over. If C.J. Stroud can play 70% as well as he played last week, the Texans should win this game, even without Nico Collins, right? Dexter Lawrence is going to be the key to this game. Can he command enough attention from Houston's offensive line that Maffei can get off like he did last week?
[00:19:16] All the pieces that Cincinnati added that I've been raving about this offseason made some kind of play in that game last week against Tampa. You know what I mean? So, as you go forward, Jadavion Clowney and Jake Hummel are injured. We'll see if they play. You know, this is just a pride game for the Houston Texans because before Buffalo walked in there and beat them last week, Houston had won six straight home games.
[00:19:45] Am I really supposed to think that they're going to lose two in a row? Like, am I supposed to think that if the Bengals give up 27 again? You know, I think they would tag them if C.J. Stroud blows it this year. But as much as I would say that you're not necessarily wrong when you say that C.J. blew it, I would say look at Justin Herbert.
[00:20:10] And I would say that C.J. has been playing against a Band-Aid offensive line for the last three years. You know what I'm saying? Like, once they got rid of Tunzel, that line got worse. C.J. Stroud's a good quarterback. But as we talk about Nico Collins being hurt, you know, this is what the Texans do. Remember last year, you know, he missed some games. Then you had, I believe it was Hutchinson get hurt.
[00:20:38] So, like, that's what happens to C.J. Stroud. So, you know, but even with that being said, I'm taking the Texans at home 27-23. Then, of course, Jags at Broncos. So, this is probably the game of the week for all intents and purposes. From the standpoint of, you know, going back to last year, Jacksonville won 13 games last year, finished as the number two seed. Denver was the number, I'm sorry, finished number three seed.
[00:21:08] Denver finished as the one seed. But you know what Jacksonville did last year? Jacksonville went into mile high and kicked some ass last year. That's what Jacksonville did. You know, 34-20, lit Denver up like a Christmas tree. And, of course, it was early December, so that only makes sense. You know, Jacksonville right now has scored at least 23 points in a game
[00:21:35] more than any team in the league right now consecutively, 12 straight games. I'm sorry, 23, yeah, 12 straight games. Trevor Lawrence in that game, 23 of 36, 279, and three touchdowns. Parker Washington in that game, six catches, 141 yards. Now, Bo Nix did put up 352. Denver did average 5.9 yards per carry in that game. But you know what Denver didn't do?
[00:22:04] They didn't run the ball. They ran the ball 18 times in that game. And now go back to what I was saying earlier, right? Running the football is a fundamental way that you win football games. You have to have balance. You have to run a little bit of clock. If you don't stick to the run, all you do is make it easier on your opponent. So Denver has to stay the course.
[00:22:30] Even if the running game is not necessarily functioning in that way, you have to be balanced and keep Jacksonville on their heels. Because Jacksonville has a walker. They have a Heinz Allen. Those guys will get after Bo Nix. But they don't have Devin Lloyd this year. I'm not impressed with the rest of Jacksonville's defense. That's why it goes back to they played the Cleveland Browns last week. Okay?
[00:22:57] So this is from NextGenStats. Monday Night Football. Broncos Chiefs. Denver missed 28 tackles. Denver gave up 247 yards after those misses. Denver allowed 17 pressures.
[00:23:23] So that means Kansas City was all up in Bo Nix's business. That is the highest pressure rate. That game was the highest pressure rate Denver's had since 2023. And I only mention that because Washington did it. You know, Monday night in Arrowhead was Nightmare on Elm Street for the Broncos. Jalen Waddell, one catch, two yards. They kept trying to get Pat Bryan involved early. You know what Pat Bryan is not? Jalen Waddell.
[00:23:53] That's what he's not. You know, the Broncos can't possibly play this bad again, right? Like, even if they do lose, they can't play that bad, right? Now, I'm wondering if Jacksonville is going to be able to establish the run. They're going to have to. But I wonder if they can. You know, they ran the ball okay last week. But Cleveland. I can't say it enough. Cleveland.
[00:24:20] You know, so the Broncos have to get Bo Nix moving. Bootlegs. More RPO. Get them out of the pocket. Now, nobody talked about his ankle last week. You know, he coming off that ankle injury in the playoff game against Buffalo that obviously kept him out of the AFC Championship game. Or else the Broncos would have went to the Super Bowl last year. So, I believe he's healthy.
[00:24:49] You know, that was eight months ago. But what about his mind? Are we looking at a situation where Bo Nix just... He needed that game to get his feet under him, if you will. To get back on track. So, I think Denver shuts down Jacksonville's run. I think they get a late pick on Trevor Lawrence.
[00:25:15] I think this game is more high scoring than it has any business being. And I'm going to go Broncos 31-24. All right. Vikings and Bears. If the Bears score 59 points this week. If the Bears score 40 this week. It's crazy, right? But, look. Robert Flores.
[00:25:48] Minnesota blitzed Green Bay. On 78.3% of Green Bay's plays. So, you know what I'm going to call this game? I'm going to call this game Ben Johnson. Oh, I said Robert Flores. Brian Flores. My bad. You know, like the name of this game is Ben Johnson and Brian Flores. Starring Tom and Jerry.
[00:26:15] Because Ben is going to leave little trails. And then Flores is going to follow just for a play action to happen. For a draw play to happen. Because you got to keep that defense honest. Now, last week, you know, Jordan Love, that offensive line did him no favors. You know, Minnesota beat him up. It wasn't just pressures like the Denver game.
[00:26:44] They were knocking him around. You know, like, thank goodness he didn't get hurt in that game. Right? But the key to this game is, is Flores going to get ahead of himself? Is he going to get too big for his britches? Yeah, he said that. He wants to score the most points. He's on his way, right? Like, we're going to have to see. I think Carson Wentz. I hadn't seen anything updated about Kyler Murray. So we might be looking at Carson Wentz.
[00:27:14] The good news for Minnesota is the Bears don't have anybody that can cover their receivers. So, the Bears gave up 350 to Bryce Young. Who usually, or 360, who usually throws for half that as a career. You know, I think that Justin Jefferson is just a matchup. He's the best receiver in the league as far as I'm concerned.
[00:27:43] I don't think the Bears have anybody for him. Because I love Jalen Johnson, right? I love Jalen Johnson. Go Utes. But, man, he was getting lit up last week. You know what I mean? And there are other leaders from last year gone. So that secondary can be had if Carson Wentz can get time. So I think that this is going to be a closer game than people think. Minnesota showed a lot of resilience last week.
[00:28:13] You know, they were down 22 to 10. And you know what they did? They scored 29 straight after that. And kept the Packers off the scoreboard. Now, granted, Green Bay was being real stupid. And committing dumb penalties like roughing the passer. While Minnesota was building momentum on some of those late drives. I don't think the Bears are going to do that. I think that the Bears win the game. But I think it's going to be close. And I don't know how many. I don't know if the Bears are going to score 30.
[00:28:42] I don't know if the Bears are going to score 40. So I'm going to just call it 23 to 20. All right. Washington. Dallas. Rivalry. NFC East. Both teams 0 and 1. And I tell you this. Dallas better win. Because they got to go to Brazil and see the Ravens next week. Right? Right?
[00:29:07] Now, Washington, on the other hand, is coming into this game with a little house money. You know, nobody expected them to play as well as they did against Philly last week. So I think people are going to say that was week one. Maybe it was a little luck. They changed the offense around a little bit. Jalen was under center more. So maybe it just threw Philadelphia for a loop a little bit. Okay. Okay.
[00:29:34] But we saw the Giants hold the ball against the Cowboys for what seemed like forever and a day. Like, if you watch that game, you literally could have watched it. The Giants got the ball first and 10. You could have went to the store. You know, you could have waited for some chicken wings. You could have walked from end to end of the store. Pump your gas.
[00:30:03] Come back home and the Giants still be on the same drive. That's what happened in the Meadowlands last week. So is that Dallas' defense? You know, no Overshone. No Malik Hooker. So you can't expect the defense to get better. Frankie Louvoo's out for Washington, which is a big deal when it comes to speed. Off the edge. Big time player.
[00:30:32] That's going to hurt. Chiggy Kong moves out. That's going to be big. You know what I'm saying? You know, but if Washington starts off this game the way that they started off in Philly, they're going to get buried. You know what I'm saying? Like C.D. Lamb, George Pickens is looking to bounce back. Washington's secondary is still an issue.
[00:31:00] So if you're Dak Prescott, you're rubbing your hands together. You're saying, come on in here. Besides the fact that he just plays well against Washington anyway. That's just a thing that's always been a thing. So where Dallas could be in a little bit of trouble is if Washington does a little read option. Because Malachi Lawrence, I like him a lot. First game last week. He had slow reaction time.
[00:31:30] And that helped the Giants hold on to the ball. You know what I'm saying? So that's why I think that Washington has a puncher's chance. You know, it's one thing to have a bad game like Denver did. But Dallas can't live on letting these teams mosey their way down the field. Like, I was watching that game. It felt like when I first bought NCAA 27 and I was like,
[00:31:59] yo, give me Kennesaw State and let me run up against Georgia. That's what it felt like. Like you had no business on the field with the Giants. But I know Dallas is better than that. The other thing that I know from history, from being a Washington fan, is that you don't want to play the Cowboys off of a loss. That might work for Philly. That might work for the Giants. That might work for the Chicago Bears. That might work for the Broncos, the Jaguars. That does not work for Washington.
[00:32:30] Dallas coming off of a loss usually gets that get back against Washington. So this is the key. Washington has to sustain drives. They have to be able to run the football. They ran the football okay last week. Maybe they didn't run it enough. You know, they need to keep Dallas guessing, you know, where the run is coming from. You can't just run at them, make them make plays in space. Right?
[00:32:57] Terry McLaurin, only two catches, 14 yards against Philly last week. Show me something. Show me something. You know, as far as Dallas goes, the offense will be better. So this could be a shootout. Give me Dallas. 28-20. Saints at Ravens. And this is another one of those week one overreactions. The Saints did what they did, right? They scored 30 points in the second half.
[00:33:26] Tyler Shuck threw for 400 yards. But he did have two interceptions to go with those three touchdowns. But a lot of people are now looking at the Saints as a juggernaut. Look at what they did. They came back. We saw the Lions give up 41 last night, right? Okay. I think that if the game was in the House of Horrors, which is what I call the Caesar Superdome, maybe they would have a chance to win this game.
[00:33:55] I'm not giving them a shot in Baltimore. Now, granted, granted, granted. Jacoby Lane's getting surgery. We'll see what's up with Zay Flowers. I'm not sure he's going to play. We'll see what's up there. But you know what? You don't need that when you've got a Derrick Henry who's on a mission. You know, this new offensive coordinator for the Ravens, he's setting it up. You know, he is like calling – he called a great game last week against the Colts.
[00:34:25] Not because of the results, but because you just couldn't pinpoint where they were going to attack from, which is one of the hallmarks of a great offense. Now, how good is the Ravens' defense? You know, Roquan Smith, these guys are a little bit older in the teeth, right? So, the other thing. Could this be a look-ahead spot?
[00:34:54] And it's not about playing Dallas, but, you know, the fact that they got out of country coming up. They're going to Brazil. You know, like, are they just trying to get out this game healthy, especially with the injuries from last week? Like, that's when you could be prone to make mistakes, when you're just trying to survive. But I think that Derrick Henry is going to control the ball enough, and I think that their defense is going to make enough plays to beat the Saints 27-17.
[00:35:23] Packers-Jets. Interesting. The Favre Rogers Bowl. Two of his teams, right? So, here's one for you, Mike. The Green Bay Packers have not started 0-2 since 2006. They're on a six-game losing streak if you go back to last season, which is their longest losing streak since the end of 1990 going into 1991.
[00:35:50] The good news for the Packers is that the Jets are still on interception watch. Or is that bad news because they could just be due now? Like, they can't go another season without an interception, and if they do, damn. You know what I'm saying? Especially with a corner as your head, a former corner as your head coach. That's just nuts. But Green Bay is coming off a blown double-digit lead up in Minneapolis, like I said earlier. Here, Micah Parsons is not walking through that door.
[00:36:18] Green Bay, that six-game losing streak has coincided with his injury. They have not won a game since he got hurt. They have not. Okay? Now, Omar Cooper is hurt for the Jets. Mika Fitzpatrick is out.
[00:36:42] Remember all offseason, I've been saying that Geno Smith doesn't need to come out here and reenact Matthew Stafford. He doesn't have to come out here and do what Josh Allen does. I'm just asking you to be a little bit better than Justin Fields. Any bit will do. So, last week, Mr. Logical, or Tuesday, Mr. Logical and I got into an argument about how the Jets should feel after the Tennessee game. Because he looked at it as like, yo, that's just Tennessee.
[00:37:13] Like, what are we talking about? Like, the Jets aren't good. But, my thought on that is winning has to start somewhere. And the Jets not only won that game. They held Tennessee below 200 yards. They dominated from start to finish. It was never in doubt. For a team like the Jets? That's all you need to kind of start a little path of momentum.
[00:37:43] Is that now we can win these games. Now, you know what? We don't just have talent on paper. Because the Jets have something that a lot of NFL teams don't. They're strong in both trenches. The offensive and defensive line. So, I expect to see a lot of Brees Hall this weekend. Now, Green Bay. You know, they're not going to be able to run the ball. You know, with their running back by committee. That has no experience at all.
[00:38:10] So, this is going to be one of those games where Jordan Love is going to be forced to do a little bit too much. And I think that the Jets will get their interception this weekend. You know, I think that if Micah Parsons was playing in this game. This would be the kind of game that he would feast on. But, like I said, he's not. And, no, I'm not going to pick Green Bay to lose every week that Micah Parsons is out. I'm not. But, I am going to pick him to lose this weekend.
[00:38:40] You know what I'm saying? Close, close 20-19. Panthers and Falcons. You know, I talked about Bryce Young having the game of his career last week. Even though they lost, they still gave up 59 points, ladies and gentlemen. You know, Michael Pennick's practicing. I don't think he's going to play, but we'll see. Carolina has a three-game winning streak against the Falcons.
[00:39:06] Not only did the Carolina Panthers give up 59 points to the Bears last week, they gave up 291 rushing yards. Which was the third time since Ben Johnson has been the head coach that they've ran for at least 280 yards. Oh, yeah. By the way, they got Philly coming up. But, anyway, back to Carolina and Atlanta. Jalen Coker was in a walking boot after the game. He was coming on strong.
[00:39:35] AJ Terrell has a bum shoulder. Zedarius Smith sacked Aaron Rodgers twice last week. And I just realized that I'm from Baltimore. And I just said, Aaron, like, Aaron, Aaron, Aaron, Aaron. I actually just did that. That was disgusting. You know, but the point that I'm trying to make is that Atlanta got home against Aaron Rodgers without James Pierce.
[00:40:04] Without Michael Williams. So, you know, I think that their defense is probably a little bit better than advertised. They have players. But I don't know if they have over the top. Like, they kind of remind me of the Chargers in that way. Where they're a good defense. But there's not a lot that stands out. You know, the Chargers have Derwin James. Atlanta has Jesse Dates. You know, Khalil Mack.
[00:40:33] Zedarius Smith. You know, and after that, it's just kind of guys that are solid. That play together in a good scheme. You know, Atlanta only had 238 yards in that game against the Steelers. I like this game. And I don't even care if it's Cooper Rush. Carolina's going to win. But I think this is going to be a close game all the way throughout. I think it's going to be a back and forth struggle.
[00:41:02] I think Carolina's defense is going to be a little bit better. You know, they did go get Lloyd and Phillips this offseason. So it's got to pay dividends at some point. Why not against this team? So give me Carolina. 24-21. Eagles at Titans. Okay. Moving on. Tampa and Cleveland. Okay. So.
[00:41:32] Baker Mayfield. Is going to always bring it to the Browns. You know, he's already spiteful. Doesn't need a lot of motivation. Playing against that team, I think, will give him motivation. I talked about Deshaun Watson already. Can he just keep drives alive with his legs? Can he make quicker decisions? And Texas Tech did come back and take the lead, by the way.
[00:42:00] 14-10 with under three minutes left in the first half. But I think, like, Tampa's D, you know, is a mixed bag right now. Because last week, you know, they gave up the 33 to the Bengals. I mentioned the four turnovers that they had. So I expect them to emphasize protecting the ball this week. I would like to see a little more Bucky Irvin. Eight rushes for 45 yards last week. You know, he led the team in receptions with seven last week.
[00:42:27] So I would like to see a little bit more of him. Okay. Now, you know, Cleveland has to just get back to the basics. Playing clean defense and just make Tampa earn. Because Baker Mayfield will throw some balls that'll give you chances. Baker Mayfield will try to make the extra play, the unnecessary play,
[00:42:54] where he could take this five-yard dump here to Bucky Irvin, and Bucky Irvin turns it into eight. Nah, Baker wants 21. So that's where he could get himself in trouble. But it doesn't matter. Because the Browns' defense is going to be on the field the majority of the game because their offense won't be able to do anything. So I'm sorry, Mike. I know you're riding with the Browns this year. I know you got them winning the division. I know you think they bounced back this week.
[00:43:24] And back-to-back trips to Florida can't be easy either. I know they're professionals, but I'm just saying. But give me Tampa here. Give me Tampa. And I'm going to call it along the lines of 34-17. Raiders in charge. Chargers got to get off the ground. Simple as that. The upcoming schedule is going to swallow them if they don't. And this is one of those things, right? We're seeing this in college with Oregon right now
[00:43:54] where they have a coordinator who was the understudy of the previous coordinator. So Chris O'Leary was the understudy of Jesse Mentor. What he is not is Jesse Mentor. We saw that a little bit last week because they gave up the middle of the field. I'm talking about Jacoby Brissett just carved them up and down. And I wish I could do a Razor Ramon impression.
[00:44:20] But he carved them up across the middle. The Raiders are still without Brock Bowers. But Astro Gentry played well last week. One of the better games of his young career. So Ladd McConkie injured. Do the Chargers have enough to generate enough points to get away from the Raiders?
[00:44:50] What they have is what I brought up last week is Mike McDaniels. Hand the football off. You have Omari on at Hampton. You have Kamani Vidal. The only thing that's stopping the Chargers is the Chargers. Which is odd because Jim Harbaugh is a conservative, ground and pound kind of guy. Well, the Raiders are the perfect team to get on track with.
[00:45:20] So give me the Chargers. 23-13. Hawks and Cardinals. Now, I've gone back and forth on this game. I talked about it a little bit earlier. But, you know, as great as Seattle's defense is, they're still trotting Drew Locke out there. Okay? You know, but the good news is this time he gets full starter reps. He's got the full game plan. He's starting from play one.
[00:45:47] So last week, you know, he came off the bench when Donald got hurt. And they just kind of had to make something happen during that game. Now you've had the whole week to install something. Jadarian Price looked good. I expect him to touch the ball a little bit more than he did last week. Arizona, the key to this game is going to be Arizona's defense, though. More so the run defense.
[00:46:14] Because if you could force Drew Locke into third and longs, third and eight, third and seven, your chances to win go up exponentially. You know, because I'm sure that a coach like Mike McDonald, with a first-time play caller as an offensive coordinator, you want to make the game as easy as possible. You know, the Cardinals, what they can't do this week is what they did against the Chargers.
[00:46:40] Even though they won that game, 11 penalties, or I'm sorry, 111 yards of penalties. Can't do that. Trey McBride, he took Derwin James to school last week. He should be able to still find open spots against Seattle, sit in the middle of the zone. You know, because, you know, the Seattle will adjust. Okay.
[00:47:09] I think that Jeremiah Love is going to have to be a part of the passing game this week. Obviously, Marvin Harrison Jr., we're still waiting for him to show up. So, I'm still going back and forth. That's why I keep hesitating as I talk about this. But I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it. You know what I mean? Like, no guts, no glory. Give me the Cardinals. In a 17-16 upset. 49ers destroyed the Dolphins. There you go.
[00:47:38] That's your preview. It is a 13-and-a-half point spread, by the way. Sunday night football. You know, Arrowhead Stadium. Colts coming in. The Colts gave up 202 rushing yards and 506 total to the Ravens last week. Kansas City. One of those teams. They had the game against Denver. And now everybody has declared Kansas City is back. AFC beware.
[00:48:08] Buffalo, you better be shaking in your boots. Let's slow down just a little bit. Let's slow down just a little bit. Now, the Colts defensive coordinator, Lou, I can't even say his last name. But he is so aggressive on defense that it puts his defense in troubled spots. Because they don't have the requisite parts to be that aggressive.
[00:48:32] Now, it's easy in the secondary when you've got a Sauce Gardner and a Mooney Ward, a Cam Bynum. You can gamble a little bit. Because they can hold it down. But the front of that defense, you know what I'm saying, doesn't get a touchdown Houston. They don't get the pressure that you would think that they'd get with the talent that they have. DeForest Buckner and Grover Stewart. You would think that they would get home a lot more.
[00:49:00] But it's easy to target the Colts linebackers. Especially in coverage. You know, like, you can throw it behind their head. 24-7 Miami, by the way, in the third quarter over Wake Forest. You know, so I think that this is just a bad matchup for the Colts. Because Eric Bien-Ami is back, which means you're going to see Kenneth Walker, Kenneth Walker, Kenneth Walker. You know what I mean? And they got Emmitt Johnson just to spell him.
[00:49:28] You know, I would like to see Taequann Thornton get a few more targets in this game. Daniel Jones doesn't necessarily look injured. I just think that last year was an anomaly, the way that they started off the season. Now, anytime you've got Jonathan Taylor, you have a puncher's chance. You know what I mean? You have a puncher's chance.
[00:49:57] But the key is going to be, can the Colts defense get off the field? Because I expect Kansas City to have a lot of third and threes. A couple of third and fours, maybe. And that's when Mahomes is at his most dangerous. Because they got the speed on the outside. Thornton, you know, you got Worthy in the slot. That, obviously, you're still thinking about Travis Kelsey. Even though he's not the player that he was, he's still there.
[00:50:25] And then Rasheed Rice can burn you at times. But while you're focusing on all that, Mahomes is just going to sneak up and get the first down. So I think the Colts are going to find themselves in trouble. But I do think that Kansas City has a little regression defensively. You know, just because of how bad Denver played. It's hard to believe that Kansas City lost the things that they lost on defense and turned into the 85 Bears or the 2000 Ravens.
[00:50:56] So, yes. Like, I think Kansas City wins. I think that you're looking at something like 24-16. You know, where there's a late play turnover or something along those lines that seals the game for the Chiefs. Monday Night Football. So-Fi Stadium. Rams coming off getting that ass kicked. In Australia. They get the Giants coming in. So now, Jackson Dart. Let's see what you got.
[00:51:26] You know, because over here is a Colby Turner. A Byron Young. Aaron Donald's going to suit up. You know what I'm saying? And I don't know what he's going to be at this stage after his time off. But I do know that the Giants are going to pay him attention early. You know, Sam, which could open things for other players. Braden Fisk. You know, and they have that secondary now. So the 49ers were able to wear the Rams down.
[00:51:55] Kidding the Giants. Because the Giants aren't an explosive team, right? Like, the Giants don't run for 10-yard first downs. Unless it's a broken play and Jackson Dart takes off. You know, Scadaboo is going to be that old school three and a half yards in a cloud of dust. So third downs, the Rams are just going to pin their ears back. Because why wouldn't you dare Jackson Dart to beat you? Like, all they got is Malik Nabors.
[00:52:26] You know, now they do have likely. He scored two touchdowns last week. But, you know what I mean? I think that the Rams' corners can match up with him one-on-one. He's going to get his. He's a great receiver. You know, he's going to be a great receiver. You know, but he's the only one that really scares you.
[00:52:52] So Jackson Dart against Dallas last week. 284 yards. Three touchdowns. Career high 134.2 passer rating. He can't do that if he's throwing the ball away. So give me the Rams. You know, so give me the Rams. Still a close game. I'm not going to disrespect the Giants. And just say that they're going to walk into L.A. and get smacked around.
[00:53:21] I'm not going to do that. No, no, no, no, no. But give me 26-21 Rams. So those are your NFL picks for the week. Now, let's talk some upsets. It's another college football weekend. Upsets went hard last week. Remember, I gave you Duke over Illinois straight up. I gave you FAU, you know, covering against Navy. They won straight up.
[00:53:50] I gave you USF straight up over Army. You know what I'm saying? We did some. I gave you Montana State over. I gave you the FCS, Montana State over Nevada. All right. What do we got this week? So, this one, it's a little tough. We'll see if we can get there.
[00:54:16] But I do like the under in Auburn, Florida. I also like Auburn straight up. You know what I'm saying? You're talking about a quarterback, Aaron Filo, getting his first start, his first road game this year, going to Jordan Hare. You know, you're talking about the Gators beating up on light competition. So, it's the same thing that we're hearing. Like, oh, the Gators are back.
[00:54:46] Summerall's got that thing humming. He will have it humming. I don't think we're there just yet. Now, Auburn, on the other hand, obviously played like absolute dog water against Baylor in the opening game. That game is fresh in my mind, right? Because, you know, it was the first game of the season. It came down to a two-point conversion late in the game. Byron Brown turned the ball over in that game.
[00:55:17] But, oh, yeah. That would be something, wouldn't it? That would be the craziest thing you've ever seen. But I think that Auburn can match the Gators' running game because the Gators have Jaden Ball, who is a great running back. Look forward to seeing him on Sundays. Even though I hate the Gators, I got to give credit where it's due. I don't know how good Florida's defense is, though. They haven't been tested yet. So, give me Auburn straight up.
[00:55:47] I think Rutgers gets a backdoor cover against USC. 24-and-a-half is the spread. You know, Rutgers, I guess, is all right if they're not playing a team from Massachusetts, right? UMass and BC back-to-back. Now, what I will say about USC, because I know somebody's out there laughing and saying, you're picking Rutgers to cover? You don't know ball.
[00:56:14] What I do know is that when USC comes east, very mixed results. And I'm not picking Rutgers to win straight up, idiot. You know, what I'm doing is saying that USC went to Maryland a couple of years ago. Straight up lost. They went to Illinois last year, big noon Saturday. They lost. When they get out of that West Coast time zone, things tend to happen. I'm going to get to the Lane Kiffin game. We talking upsets right now.
[00:56:44] Hold on. Hold on. You know what I'm saying? So, like, give me that. Give me my FBS. Give me Northern Iowa covering 40-and-a-half at Kinnick Stadium. You know, I expect Iowa to just run the ball, be conservative. You know, they played a close game in the Cyhawk battle last week. And UNI usually just gives them fits, FCS or not.
[00:57:13] Give me the over for New Mexico and Oklahoma. Jason Eck is a great head coach. They're going to give Oklahoma all they can handle for a half. Give me NC State straight up at Vanderbilt. 17-14 at halftime, Houston over Texas Tech. Give me Vandy straight up. I mean, NC State straight up at Vandy. You know what I'm saying?
[00:57:42] Chris still drinking the jungle juice, ain't he? You know what I'm saying? But go runners, though. You know what I'm saying? Birds up. But no, NC State, Dave Dorn, he doesn't know it yet. But he's coaching for his job. He just doesn't know it yet. Jarrett Curtis making his first start. He played a little bit last week. Played well. Making his first start. We'll see how that goes. Give me Arkansas State.
[00:58:10] To cover 20 in Fort Worth against the Horned Frogs. And then finally, give me FIU straight up against Florida Atlantic. You know what I'm saying? I don't even want the seven points. I want it all. Give it to me straight up. All right. So as Chris asked and shall receive, let's talk LSU Ole Miss. Now, needless to say, this game is going to be emotional.
[00:58:39] This game is going to be intense. This game is going to go down to the wire. Now, I know a lot of people out there, these LSU fans, the media that want LSU to be good again, are jumping past their skates just a little bit. You know what I'm saying? Clemson is not a good team. They're just called Clemson. LSU dominated them. Then all of a sudden, it was, hey, they're rock stars.
[00:59:08] You know what they did last week? Sam Levitt came out and threw three interceptions against Louisiana Tech last week. Don't give Ole Miss extra chances. Okay? That's first and foremost. All eyes are on Lane Kiffin as far as we go. But is the pressure actually on Ole Miss? Because now, Ole Miss is the jaded ex, right?
[00:59:33] You know, Lane Kiffin left them in the middle of a playoff run where they did reach the semifinals of the college football playoff. He left them for a better job. So, it's not about him beating Ole Miss. He knows these players, like Mr. Logical said the other day. He knows these players. He knows their tendencies. He knows, you know, who can cover here. He knows who can play zone and who has to play man.
[01:00:03] He knows, you know, what Trinidad Chambliss, like when he does a certain thing with his body, that means he's about to take off. He knows these things. So, I think the pressure sort of lies on Ole Miss because you're at home. So, you know, you got the best advantage you could have because you don't have to go to Death Valley.
[01:00:25] Now, if there is pressure on Lane Kiffin, it's just because of what he's been doing and talking, you know, since the season started, since before the season started. You know, he called out Ole Miss in that magazine article about their racism and how it was hard to recruit there because people were scared to send their kids there. These are the things that are going to make this game a fever pitch. And Ole Miss has to stay the course and not pick up dumb penalties.
[01:00:55] It'll be sort of like that, but worse because the Raiders in Tampa don't really have a rivalry. Ole Miss and LSU Magnolia, it's already, it's already, you know what I'm saying, a war as it is. You know what I'm saying, you just took the pin out the grenade. You know what I'm saying? So, neither team in this series has beat each other at the other team's place since 2019. Lane knows Pete Golding.
[01:01:25] He was his defensive coordinator. He hired him at Ole Miss. But also, Pete Golding knows Charlie Weiss Jr. and Lane Kiffin, he went up against them in practice every week, every day. Right? So, which Sam Leavitt do we see? Do we see the guy that ran the ball all up and down Clemson's throat? Or do we see the guy that threw those three picks and took four sacks last week?
[01:01:57] Now, LSU's running game. Are we sure that it's fixed? Because, of course, they couldn't run the ball the last couple of years. Are we sure that running the ball, now they did run for 300 on Clemson. 300 plus, but it's Clemson. Like I said, that's a name. So, can they run the ball here? Luckily for them, Ole Miss does not necessarily tout a good defense,
[01:02:21] as you saw Lincoln Keenholz from Louisville lead the Cardinal to 38 points in week zero in his first game. Trinidad Chambliss last year against LSU, one of his first games, 314 yards in the air, 71 yards on the ground. Now, this is where we get into my problem with Ole Miss. So, they do have Kiwan Lacy, who could be a Heisman candidate in his own right.
[01:02:48] But I feel that for Ole Miss to reach their peak, Trinidad Chambliss has to be a god on the field. So, they can't win these games with Trinidad Chambliss simply having a good game. Because their defense is going to give up points. So, he literally just has to have answer after answer after answer.
[01:03:15] Now, granted, last year's game was 24-19. This game is big, even without all the drama. Both of these teams play Texas down the road. Ole Miss goes to Norman. LSU goes to Jordan-Hare. LSU plays Bama. Ole Miss plays Georgia.
[01:03:42] This game is important, not only for the bragging rights, but you also have the playoff side of things. Now, these Ole Miss players went to the playoffs last year, the ones that stayed. They know what this type of intensity is like. LSU is still coming back. So, Sam Levitt, big games. So, he had the Big 12 championship game against Iowa State. Played pretty decent.
[01:04:11] But we go back to that Texas playoff game. He played like crap. They just had a chance to win because of Cam Scadaboo. And their defense made some plays. So, as far as Ole Miss goes, Horatio Fields and Deuce Alexander, between the both of them, targeted 25 times this season, caught all of them but three.
[01:04:40] So, now the LSU secondary is going to get tested. Clemson should have been able to do that with the receivers that they have. But they didn't have the quarterback. You could argue that Trinidad Chambliss could have won the Heisman last year with what Ole Miss did. So, this game is going to come down to a couple of things.
[01:05:05] Can LSU consistently beat Ole Miss at the line of scrimmage? That's number one. Number two. Can they keep Chambliss in check? You're never going to stop a guy like him because he's too dynamic with his legs. But can you keep him in the pocket long enough to where when he does escape, the edges are covered.
[01:05:35] He can't go side to side. He has to try to run straight at you. I think that Kiwan Lacy is going to struggle a little bit in this game because I think LSU is going to make it a point to take him away and have Chambliss try to beat you with his arm. So, when it comes down to it, as I teeter on each side,
[01:06:02] I'm going to pick Ole Miss to win this game 38-31. Then you got a big one in the ACC. And it doesn't involve Miami. You know, that'd be Louisville and SMU. The winner of this game could play Miami in the ACC championship game down the road. Of course, Virginia will have something to say about that. But just saying. Louisville has no margin for error. Error.
[01:06:30] Because, see, that was that thing coming out again. That was that Baltimore coming out again. Error and iron to iron. Error. But Louisville lost to Ole Miss, which is another advantage that Ole Miss has over LSU is we played a better team than both of your opponents. And we beat them. Even though it was close. But still. Louisville can't lose this game.
[01:06:59] Now, the rest of their schedule is pretty manageable. But it's going to be hard for a two-loss ACC team to get into the college football playoff. Even if they lose this game and still somehow make the ACC title game and lose the Miami, I don't know if you're going to get the benefit of the doubt like the SEC champion loser gets. So this is a big one.
[01:07:28] Louisville hasn't beat SMU since SMU joined the ACC. SMU is 15-2 since they joined the ACC. But you know what SMU has a bad tendency of? Turning the ball over. If you remember a couple of weeks ago on Labor Night, they went into Tallahassee. Four turnovers. Four turnovers. But the defense played well enough that they got out of Tallahassee with a win.
[01:07:57] That means that if SMU wins this game, they're already 2-0 in the ACC. They're already on their way. Right? So as Louisville goes, this might be the last chance that they get to play a ranked team this year. And we're in week three. Whereas SMU, on the other hand, has that big showdown with Notre Dame towards the end of the season.
[01:08:27] So Isaac Brown is going to be the key to this game. I think he's going to be able to find room against SMU's run defense and make them pay. I think Kevin Jennings is going to turn the ball over. And oh, by the way, I forgot to even mention, these are the two teams that beat Miami in the regular season last year. You know, so there's that. You know, but I think that this game comes down to the wire. Just like the Ole Miss game, I think we could see a walk-off field goal here.
[01:08:57] Louisville's going to get after the passer. They're going to force a turnover or two out of Kevin Jennings. They're at home. And trust me, big games in that stadium, you don't want to be there. Ask Florida State, 63-20 on Muhammad Ali Day, Lamar Jackson. You know, Florida State, again, rainstormed 2002. You know, you don't want to go down to Louisville in a big showdown.
[01:09:24] You know, even when Florida State, you know, played them with Jameis Winston, they went down 28-0, I believe it was, and Florida State came back and won. But that just goes to show you how quickly things can get out of hand in that stadium. Okay? Now, can Rafael run the ball for SMU? Can SMU get pressure? Florida State still moved the ball on SMU.
[01:09:54] They just couldn't get explosives. That won't be a problem for Louisville. And the other part of that is their head coach, Jeff Brom, right? Why do you think we call Purdue the spoiler makers? It's because of him. So, give me Louisville to win this game. High scoring, 34-33. So, now let's go around the nation for a second before we get out of here.
[01:10:25] Old Mississippi State. Kamario Taylor. Hopefully, they're backing up the Brinks truck because at the end of this season, all of the big boys are going to be coming for Kamario Taylor. I'll put a pause on that if you want me to. But, now, Kamario Taylor, fresh off a big win in Minneapolis last week, goes to William Bryce Stadium. South Carolina needs this game.
[01:10:53] You know, Clemson, Georgia on the schedule, they need this game. For Shane Beamer to keep his job. But, they also have Lenore Sellers over there. You know, who is a top pick in the NFL draft, you know, according to the experts. I don't quite see that. But, whatever. They do. They know more than I do. Dillon Stewart is back. What a time to come back. What a week to come back.
[01:11:23] You know what I mean? South Carolina beat Towson and Kent State. So, I don't know. I don't know. South Carolina's favored by four. Three and a half, depending on where you look. I like them to win in cover. But, you know, Kamario Taylor, remember that name. As I mentioned, you know, the Florida-Auburn game. One of those teams is going to be one of those SEC teams pesky that you don't want to play.
[01:11:53] It could be Florida. Even if they do lose. Because I picked Auburn to win earlier. So, if it is Florida, they still got to get Oklahoma down there. They still got the right. Like, I'm telling you. Summerall's going to have that thing turned around. And, as an FSU fan, I don't like it. Notre Dame. It just feels wrong that they're a 29 and a half to 30 and a half point favorite over Sparty. Just feels wrong. But, here's a piece of nostalgia for you.
[01:12:21] You know, Pat Fitzgerald played for the Northwestern team. That was about a 28-point underdog against Notre Dame. That upset Notre Dame. So, not saying history's going to repeat itself. But, you know, I don't think Notre Dame's going to win by that much. You know what I'm saying? I just can't see it. West Virginia and Virginia. That could be a fun game. If West Virginia can score. They got Cam Cook.
[01:12:49] One of the best running backs in the nation. Michael Hawkins is the quarterback. Come over from Oklahoma. Rich Rod, year two. They're going to be a little bit better. They're going to have some things early for Virginia. We'll just have to see if they can maintain consistency. Because, Virginia looks like a buzzsaw right now. You know what I mean? I know it's only been two games. But, they look like a buzzsaw. Okay. Clemson and North Carolina. You know, you try to think about these games.
[01:13:20] Clemson's favorite by three and a half. And then you think to yourself. Take last year off the table. Take last year off the table. Because, obviously, North Carolina was beyond pitiful last year. But, this is still an inexperienced quarterback. Because, Tate Reynolds is getting the start. This is still an inexperienced quarterback going up against Bill Belichick. Keep your eye on that game. I think Clemson wins. But, keep your eye on that game. You know what I'm saying? Because, it wouldn't surprise me.
[01:13:49] If we're looking at this game with about three minutes left. Neither team has 20 points. And, somebody goes down and kicks a field goal. Wouldn't surprise me. By now, it's kind of hard to not fall for September Maryland. You know, Coach Mike Locksley, since he's been at Maryland. I touched on this a little bit last night. In my video, Defining Moments.
[01:14:18] Where I was talking about the coaches on the hot seat going into this weekend. So, check that out. He's 21-5 in the month of September. Since he's been at Maryland. After September, 15-39. They get James Franklin and Virginia Tech coming in. Tech favorite by three. Good game. Secu Stadium. Check it out.
[01:14:49] So, you know, there's a lot going on. And, I know when you look at the slate this week. It doesn't look like last week. There's no Texas-Ohio State banger on there. Right? There's no Oklahoma-Michigan banger on there besides the Ole Miss game. Right? So, I understand. But, this is college football. This is the transfer portal era. This is NIL. There's going to be upsets.
[01:15:17] You just got to hope it's not your team that gets upset. And, speaking of your team. My team, by the way, is a 20-and-a-half point underdog in Tuscaloosa. There's rumors that we're talking about bringing back Jimbo Fisher. I don't think those rumors are real. We'll see if they are. But, please don't. It's one thing to be desperate. It's another thing to be desperate for the person that left you. You know what I mean?
[01:15:47] Like, in the middle of the season. You know, said to go to Texas A&M. During the week after he denied that he was leaving. You don't have to be that desperate, Florida State. There are other great coaches out here. I promise you. I promise you there's other great coaches out here. You know, look at this Houston-Texas Tech game, right? You know, this is a big game for Houston.
[01:16:14] You know, not because they're playing Texas Tech per se, even though, obviously, that's a big part of it. Like, it's a big game because I think that the Cougars, I picked them and BYU to play in the Big 12 championship game. I did not pick Texas Tech to go to the Big 12 championship game. Even though Texas Tech has the schedule that you would love to have if you were a Big 12 contender. They don't play BYU. They don't play Utah.
[01:16:44] You know, Houston gets Utah on the road. They get Kansas State on the road in about three weeks. So this game is big. You know, if they can get this win, then they can afford a hiccup down the road. Just can't afford two. But, you know, so there's great college football going on all around this nation. I hope you all enjoy it this weekend. I hope you all enjoy the NFL Week 3.
