Two-Five lets us know that Clemson has entered the chat! The ACC is eating itself. A review of the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Are you more excited for the teams at the top of the Western Conference standings or the Bottom.
[00:00:00] Yes, you are now listening to the sounds of sports reports as ordered. I got with me
[00:00:16] that even kill Virginia Bourne, New Jersey's own dedicated veteran and father.
[00:00:26] Absolutely Mr. Rutley aka he said call him Mr. Logical if you nasty
[00:00:35] I'm always saying over here, you know, saying your resident statistician unorthodox
[00:00:42] so left you thought I was South Paul but I ain't on that Ryan Garcia shit
[00:00:48] I am 25. So do us a favor America like review subscribe tell Granny about us tonight we got our whole lot of madness to get into
[00:01:11] and we got some NBA talk to you know just just the question that Mr. Logical had that I thought
[00:01:16] was like pretty interesting to talk about so you know we'll see where the conversation takes us but for now
[00:01:25] we're gonna start it off we'll get it off my chest and it's just me for Dollo today
[00:01:31] you know last week it was just Mr. Logical this time it's my turn so law suits everywhere
[00:01:40] you know we came on here a couple of months ago or maybe a month ago we were talking about how Tennessee and Virginia
[00:01:46] are suing the NCAA you know over to NIL rules you know the NCAA is getting sued for some other things as well
[00:01:55] you know you got Florida State versus the ACC on and we're trying to figure out whether
[00:02:02] it's gonna be a home game for Florida State or a home game for the ACC is it gonna be tried in
[00:02:08] Florida North Carolina because Florida State feels that the ACC has been poor stewards
[00:02:16] and didn't hasn't led the conference in the right direction you know especially coming off the
[00:02:23] heels of not getting invited to the college football playoff they feel that the ACC didn't do enough
[00:02:31] to rectify that issue so everything's been quiet on that forefront as we await to see what's going to
[00:02:39] happen and then I blinked and as soon as I blinked my little cousin Clemson came through
[00:02:49] and they said we're suing the ACC but Clemson said something that's very peculiar that stood out to me
[00:03:00] and I don't know if it makes sense or not but take it to trial they said that the grand of rights
[00:03:07] that everybody's trying to get out of only applies as you're a member of that conference so if I leave
[00:03:17] the ACC the ACC can't get my rights because I'm not an ACC member because that was the whole
[00:03:25] Florida State argument because if they leave if any school leaves the ACC before 2036 they give
[00:03:32] up all their teeny rights for their home games until that time period so Clemson is saying like yeah
[00:03:39] you own my rights right now but if I leave the ACC I'm not a member of the ACC so I don't fall under
[00:03:48] that clause these parameters it's interesting we'll see what happens but they weren't done
[00:03:57] scary movie style but wait there's more so Clemson the ACC decided that they didn't want Florida State
[00:04:08] to have any say or opinion on conference matters which makes sense because Florida State's suing
[00:04:14] the ACC so while you're suing me you don't have decision or veto power that makes sense problem is
[00:04:23] Clemson says there was supposed to be a vote before the ACC decided to go sue Florida State and
[00:04:32] Clemson said we didn't agree to sue Florida State so as the ACC out here dirty macken I guess
[00:04:41] we'll find out in a few months but until then they're all one dysfunctional family as we all are
[00:04:53] so I'm interested to see where it goes that's that's a very interesting argument especially the whole
[00:05:00] well and once I leave the conference you no longer and you don't need my right so like
[00:05:05] I'm not finished the advocated to you know sacrifice those funds to you yeah because the
[00:05:12] grant of rights the whole thing was a overreaction to Maryland leaving you know when they joined the
[00:05:19] big 10 they were able to negotiate their buyout down and that was the other part of the language
[00:05:26] of the lawsuits is that when a team leaves a conference the buyout or you know the pay to get out
[00:05:34] the conference it's supposed to be for damages suffered so you know buy a Florida State being
[00:05:42] the most valued team in the ACC football wise if Florida State leaves you owe extra amount of money
[00:05:51] because of the value that I'm losing okay but what's happening is Clemson is arguing
[00:06:00] this is punitive like this is not damages suffering you're punishing me for leaving
[00:06:10] yeah for the damages that you're not there for money you're not gonna receive once I'm gone which
[00:06:15] is essentially the same as the whole you're taking over or holding onto my rights after I leave
[00:06:20] the school so it's like I can't hold onto your rights then I'm gonna essentially find you to make
[00:06:25] you subsidize the money that you're taking away and that's the tricky part but that's the tricky part
[00:06:30] because that's not Clemson or Florida State that's the state of Florida in the state of South Carolina saying
[00:06:36] this is that you know you like under our state law you're not allowed to treat my institutions
[00:06:45] in a punitive way so that's a whole another layer that hasn't even been uncovered yet you know
[00:06:52] because we have it because we haven't been to court yet you know so the other part of this is
[00:06:58] you got schools like Syracuse Boston College Wake 4 so on so 4 that obviously don't bring
[00:07:05] the value that Florida State and Clemson bring so what's stopping ESPN because allegedly ESPN
[00:07:12] is the puppet master so what's stopping ESPN from saying okay Florida State Clemson big 12
[00:07:21] because we own the big 12 too therefore ACC you lose all this money on the deal that we have and
[00:07:29] now we tie it into the big 12 deal because this is the main question now I know that there have
[00:07:36] been reports saying that the ACC is not interested in Florida State and Clemson at this time
[00:07:43] but is that only because the big 10 hasn't been out there trying to acquire them because I'm sure
[00:07:52] you don't want the big 10 encroaching on your turf to have recruiting in your states now
[00:08:02] so that's a whole another decision that ESPN and the SEC have to look at is
[00:08:07] can I keep a water down because the ACC contract is up with ESPN in two years so if you're
[00:08:16] so if your ESPN can you slide some of these schools Florida State Clemson maybe Miami can you just
[00:08:23] slide them over to the big 12 where they're still under your umbrella or do you risk losing them
[00:08:31] to Fox and the SEC is now whose your main commodity now has the big 10 encroaching on your territory
[00:08:41] for the groups yeah hmm you know we'll see how the cookie crumbles I guess but speaking of crumbling
[00:08:52] speaking of crumbling Mr. Rutley on a part if you will indulge me for say three quick minutes
[00:09:02] you know let's talk about Jonathan Vincent Calapari so this is not mad Kentucky fan because I told
[00:09:13] y'all last year I don't care about my bracket being right I don't care about like all this and all
[00:09:18] that like March madness is here if you love the madness you can't get upset just because the
[00:09:24] madness happened to you so as the great Chris Pricado says I'm a before I even get to all that
[00:09:33] you got deaf taxes and Tom is Owen March you know is oh so that's how you know March is here but let's
[00:09:40] talk about John Calapari so the year was 2008 it was the first time ever and only time that all four
[00:09:51] one seeds made it to the final four he had a guy by the name of Derek Rose he had another guy by
[00:10:00] the name of Chris Douglas Roberts aka CDR who I just loved and thought was going to be a star in the NBA
[00:10:07] that's why I'm not a scout so they uh they had a nine point lead with two 12 left
[00:10:16] against Kansas in the national title game and you know what we remember we remember the Mario
[00:10:22] Chalmers shot because they went one for five down the stretch Memphis did at the free throw line
[00:10:29] and allow Kansas to put this game in overtime come back in win that's Coach Calapari
[00:10:36] you know fast forward a few years John Wall the Marcus Cousins Eric Blinso Patrick Patterson
[00:10:44] the All-Star bunch the All-Star Squad
[00:10:51] final four against West Virginia
[00:10:55] four for 32 from 30 point range four for 32 when I'm sure you didn't need to shoot 32
[00:11:03] threes with that team and of course Duke goes on to win national title number four we'll get to
[00:11:09] national title number five here in a second so Anthony Davis comes along all was right in the
[00:11:15] world Calapari is a national champion he's not a choker anymore you know like everything is
[00:11:22] right in big blue nation Kentucky has title number eight seconds a UCLA and then 2015 comes a guy by
[00:11:31] the name I like to call him Kitty Towns did you know but y'all know him is Carl Anthony Towns
[00:11:37] you know you had a guy on the bench named Devon Booker you had Tyler Ulus you had
[00:11:44] Trey Liles you had the Harrison twins Willie Collie Stein 38 no get to the final four against
[00:11:55] Wisconsin Frank the tank Frank Kaminsky and Sam Decker Ausk Kentucky another free throw problem
[00:12:06] you know because you got cat Willie Collie Stein and Trey Liles but somehow Wisconsin shot 12 more
[00:12:13] free throws than you so this is the part we talked about on the phone coming up 2018 you had a
[00:12:22] guy by the name of Shay Gilges Alexander who's only what second on Nekia MVP ladder as we speak
[00:12:30] sure so 2018 this year sounds familiar Mr. logical this was the year that UMBC became the first one
[00:12:37] seed to ever be to or want a 16th seed to be to one seed Kentucky was in that region
[00:12:45] so you got the one seed out the way you had Loyola Chicago that was the whole sister Jean crazy
[00:12:55] year they took out Tennessee who was the three seed in the second round Nevada took out Cincinnati
[00:13:04] who was the two seed so to get to the final four all you had to do was be Kansas State Loyola
[00:13:12] Chicago impossible in Nevada couldn't do it SGA and how my new Diallo combined three for 14
[00:13:22] against Kansas State 314 you know 314 went 9 and 16 in the COVID year and then there came St. Peter's
[00:13:35] Kellan Grady 42% 3 point shooter against St. Peter's goes one for nine from the field
[00:13:44] and then we got last night Kentucky in their history has lost in the first round three times
[00:13:54] to double digit seeds they have all happened at the hand of John Vincent Calapari
[00:14:04] so Mr. logical give me one good reason why I should turn on the TV next year
[00:14:12] and see this guy walking up and down the sidelines probably a new coach 33 million dollar buyout
[00:14:21] that's not bad I mean they they bought out a Jimbo fish out of Texas in and they'll find them
[00:14:26] money somewhere I think the pros game comments the probably the the biggest issue like after losing
[00:14:33] Oakland essentially just throwing on the feet of the players saying guys didn't play how great they
[00:14:40] normally played guys got a step up you know just just I don't just not taking it on you already
[00:14:46] took the loss and the chin when you go to the press conference the other the same thing maybe
[00:14:51] is the switch that I talked to you in the car like I don't know if he is selfless enough to be
[00:14:59] potentially just another fish in his pond and he wants another big personality
[00:15:05] does he want one of the top recruits because if you think about Kentucky basketball
[00:15:10] you got this cake Cooper flag out of Maine he is up going to Duke. Kentucky and Duke
[00:15:17] probably a comparable basketball traditions is comparable in just location
[00:15:25] funding facilities colors colors just like so how you know how are you not in that
[00:15:32] sweepsticks maybe you were maybe you weren't but it doesn't seem to be landing those top prospects
[00:15:38] so maybe it's because he doesn't want to be second fiddle on his team maybe he wants to be the top
[00:15:44] dog slick hair back nice suits on a sideline and he'll take three and four star recruits
[00:15:51] and try to run with it and like I said some time is good that's good when to say since you need
[00:15:57] those guys to make timely shots where Oakland did yeah goki goki yet like literally the way he
[00:16:05] was shooting the ball and you're gonna drop a crazy stat on us here in a few minutes but the way
[00:16:10] he was shooting the ball and we get he shot this leaning three and it went in and he was like that
[00:16:16] was like his third one that gone in it's like you knew he was gonna be on because I thought maybe
[00:16:20] at halftime because you know he hit seven in the first half I thought he would cool off considerably
[00:16:25] but really you started playing the defensive started playing him different he just was picking
[00:16:29] his spots like he didn't force three and a second half he still knocked out three more for ten total
[00:16:36] and then he had the the emphatic we're not a Cinderella and the post game conference but he had
[00:16:42] Calipari I mean is it time for a new voice in the like room is it time for a new face on the
[00:16:50] sideline or does he have to really relinquish this mythical title of just being the face of Kentucky
[00:17:00] basketball yes I think there's two things here one it may be time to transition to figurehead status
[00:17:10] you know maybe it's time to pick the successor and do a semi coach and waiting thing
[00:17:20] you got that option or just get them the hell out of here I got an idea you know
[00:17:26] Joanne Howard's gone at Michigan let's help Cal get the Ann Arbor but when he's worked that because
[00:17:34] you know obviously Ann Arbor is all about football you know what I mean so I gotta even better idea
[00:17:42] UCLA why don't you get rid of Mick Cronie I know that you've been flirting with Cal over the
[00:17:48] years get Cal out the LA he can shine over to Sean Foster in that's a perfect city in our
[00:17:55] enemy yeah in New York somewhere in New Jersey Villanova out in Philly hey Villanova Kyle Neptune is
[00:18:04] running them into the ground two years no tournament you know so definitely a thing
[00:18:10] it was like 90 people at the end and I think but but goal key Jack goal key the stat that you mentioned
[00:18:17] this season he has shot 327 threes and eight two pointers in the whole season he didn't take one
[00:18:27] two pointer yesterday 10 for 20 all three all three two pass don't even do that
[00:18:37] and he had two out of three free throws for 32 points yeah an Oakland shot terrible from the
[00:18:42] free throw line so like there was no excuse to lose that game like I look I understand Jack
[00:18:48] goal key went off last night and Cal apart it was talking about the freshman mistakes which I buy
[00:18:55] if this is November December but we're in March now that freshman shit is over you know was
[00:19:01] Derek Rose making freshman mistake I mean I guess he hit the free throws but was he making
[00:19:05] freshman mistakes you know so as I was looking at this they couldn't really do anything different
[00:19:16] because they were getting bullied on the inside by a smaller center too yeah no it is one
[00:19:23] and done sitting there as I think the referee swathes a whistle sometimes we'll talk about a couple
[00:19:27] of calls that would pretty much controversial couple of no calls that sort of night but yeah like
[00:19:33] that they they were getting is kind of mosquit around but I don't know if he noticed how to make
[00:19:38] an adjustment in that no he he never adjust which is part of the problem because I think that he
[00:19:45] thinks we have the best players so therefore we should win you know but you thinking when thinking
[00:19:50] about this you talked about Cooper flag you know um this year he brought in DJ Wagner son of DeWan
[00:19:58] who was supposed to be a lottery pick last month draft I saw I didn't even have him in the second
[00:20:04] round they had Justin Edwards who I've seen anywhere between one and eight before the season started
[00:20:13] last I saw he was around 37 or 38 so in the second round you got Reed Shepherd
[00:20:20] you know who played himself into a lottery pick during the season this year after being asked
[00:20:26] of radar poor man's awesome Reeves one for five last night and then when you add
[00:20:32] Rob Dillingham you know who was the best player on the team for my estimation you know who is
[00:20:40] supposedly a top five pick he went two for nine put it all together and you got him in shepherd three
[00:20:46] for 14 so you know at so as you're looking at this the team just wasn't ready to play there was one
[00:20:54] team that was ready for March Madness and there was one team that thought they had the privilege
[00:21:00] and they had a right to advance within the tournament like there were stories out about
[00:21:07] Oakland's coach who's been their head coach since 1984 you know about how he was working at drive
[00:21:12] throughs you know uh the or the last week or so like trying to get the fans pumped up you know
[00:21:20] I know a lot of people think you know E 40 is a thing and like oh no no this is Michigan
[00:21:26] this Oakland is in Michigan but but you know but but he was definitely in the drive through trying to
[00:21:33] drum up the support getting the fans excited about it and then you talked about the Cinderella
[00:21:39] like we're not Cinderella well what I like about what goal he said you know and I'm paraphrasing
[00:21:45] you know is like I know I'm not going to play in the NBA but I know that when we play our best
[00:21:56] we're the best team on the floor best says it all right there very confident
[00:22:03] very confident and he's a bench player you know say he wasn't even a starter when the season started
[00:22:08] and I mean he had no division one offers the starting offense wasn't really that dynamic either
[00:22:18] well I know the center I know the center uh his dad played for Oakland back in the 80s under the
[00:22:24] same head coach uh track or something yeah uh goal making note of that goal key had no division
[00:22:31] one offers started off in division two you know so but continuing that flow of thought that's
[00:22:37] enough Kentucky because I'm starting to feel sick um germane quiznard germane quiznard of the
[00:22:46] Oregon ducks with the 40 burger against South Carolina South Carolina who just happens to be his
[00:22:54] former team you know and this is this is why people think sports are rigged you know I'm not one
[00:23:02] of those people but but this is why people think sports are rigged like they say they set up the
[00:23:08] brackets with no storyline you know what I mean but here you go round one germane quiznard against his
[00:23:16] former team you know like you got stories running amuck you know you got Drake who ended up losing to
[00:23:26] Iowa State last night making me look bad I mean losing to Washington State they would have played
[00:23:32] Iowa State in the second round tomorrow to Iowa schools just in the same part of the bracket plan
[00:23:39] in the second round like you know it's like poetry in a certain way but at the same time it's like
[00:23:47] y'all really expect us to believe that y'all didn't think this out at all yeah you know so I know
[00:23:53] Mr. logical uh he was talking about the Sanford ball dogs and the Kansas game last night so you know
[00:24:02] no what did you see well what I did see was inside of my eyelids because the game came on super
[00:24:08] late uh being here on the east coast something like listen Thursday night you got a game that
[00:24:14] tips off at 9 30 and 10 o'clock yeah I'm not making I'm not making it to the end of that game
[00:24:20] but I did get the clips like so we talked about it it it did look like a file and look clean
[00:24:27] I think if they were in the game and they reviewed it because rest rarely turned their file calls
[00:24:32] around unless you flat out can tell from the video that the player A didn't touch player B so he
[00:24:40] can't be a file other than that is something like a 97 98 percent success rate towards referees
[00:24:46] so two business success rate for the league college or NBA it's very similar to when the NFL
[00:24:54] referees had the passing experience and coaches could challenge that they weren't gonna reverse the
[00:24:59] call but being down 21 of rally hit the three you know less than 28 seconds at the game at the
[00:25:08] three down one the black goes off the backboard your gazette it rebounded now you down one 14 seconds
[00:25:16] left if you coming back up court Kansas completely discombibrated but you get the file call bells
[00:25:22] you out he hits one of two free throws and that's it you lose and that's what you talk about the whole
[00:25:29] rake part I'm not sure because we've seen it all we've seen it 16 V to 1 you've seen 15 B2s we've
[00:25:38] seen 14 B3 13s before so what's it so why does it come down you know on these charts
[00:25:46] so I don't know if like what you can make up unless you're legitimately trying to push
[00:25:53] you can to meet Houston and that's jammed in here well I think that like the whole purpose of or not
[00:25:59] the whole purpose but the whole idea behind the beauty of March madness is Cinderella you know so
[00:26:06] like as much as we talked about this last year because nobody wanted San Diego State in FAU
[00:26:11] in the final four like you want Cinderella to make noise early but you but at a certain point
[00:26:17] you want your blue blood so you want Cinderella to be your number five number four or five seed
[00:26:24] right but if you're wanting to alone let them battle out in your bracket decide
[00:26:30] your bracket for that but as we look at this you know you got a school like Kentucky going down
[00:26:36] to this little school in Michigan that nobody knows you know that's what makes March
[00:26:42] madness March madness you know Valper Rezzo Gonzaga how about this stat Gonzaga has won at least one
[00:26:51] game in 15 straight NCAA tournaments you know the only other teams to do that Kansas Kentucky UNC
[00:27:03] so I don't know Gonzaga hardly qualifies as a Cinderella anymore
[00:27:10] correct and that's why I think that they're dangerous in this tournament along with Arizona
[00:27:15] because they don't have expectations like they normally do you know every year for about
[00:27:22] six or seven years it was is this the year Gonzaga is going to break through to seal it and as we
[00:27:30] look at Gonzaga right now this Gonzaga team is nothing like any of those teams that we had those
[00:27:36] conversations about that makes them more dangerous because now you have Gonzaga without pressure
[00:27:43] the pressure is on Tennessee a school that has never made the final four but they took St. Peter's
[00:27:52] last night and added on to my feelings because I know what St. Peter's did the Kentucky a few years
[00:28:01] ago exactly so you know so tomorrow I'm interested Tennessee in Texas somebody's going to
[00:28:11] set themselves up to choke later because I don't believe any of the one of those teams but
[00:28:16] somebody has to win but you know Colorado State held Virginia to 42 we talked about how Virginia
[00:28:26] set basketball back 30 years and then Colorado State comes out here scores 44 against Texas last night
[00:28:33] yeah go see the lack of scoring hurts cause basketball because if you look at some of these finals
[00:28:42] it was one game the final was 102 to 100 and then you have games the finals are 64 to 33
[00:28:53] well even right now at halftime you know you got James Madison up 33 to 20 on Wisconsin the first
[00:28:59] game of today the first game of today which was a game that I was very very very very very much
[00:29:05] interested in Florida Atlantic you know the final four undarling from last year
[00:29:11] against Northwestern coach by Chris Collins who could be a future coach at Duke at some point maybe
[00:29:18] but anyway so I jot it down some stuff here because the halftime score was 20 to 19 and this is how we
[00:29:28] got there Northwestern from the field was 7 of 33 in the first half FAU was 7 of 21 Northwestern
[00:29:37] was two of 12 from three FAU was one of nine the game went to overtime and FAU still only finished with
[00:29:47] 65 points you know but no run this year remember I said that when we looked at the brackets originally
[00:29:55] it put FAU in San Diego State and Yukon's bracket and they said I bet your asses won't get
[00:30:00] to the final four this year but there's a problem Mr. Rutley there is a problem
[00:30:06] was that because Auburn was supposed to put some resistance into the defending national champion Yukon
[00:30:13] but Auburn is no longer amongst us they got Yale they got I beat you know because remember
[00:30:22] Princeton was a 15 last year and took out Arizona they made it to the sweet 16 last year after
[00:30:28] they beat Missouri so now you got a second round matchup of Yale against San Diego State
[00:30:35] for the right to get slaughtered by Yukon in the sweet 16 unless Northwestern does the unthinkable
[00:30:45] I had over gone pre 14
[00:30:50] you know my guys Johnny Brum showed up 24 and 13 look like he got hurt on the
[00:30:56] non foul call whatever that was at the end of the game there but yeah I thought Auburn will give
[00:31:02] Yukon a little bit of a push not beat him but just give him a little bit of a push to where people
[00:31:08] might start to believe that Yukon is not going to repeat but you know Nevada you know Nevada was
[00:31:16] one of my upsets in the first round I had them knocking off Dayton only reason I even picked
[00:31:22] Nevada was because I was thinking too much and I said this altitude and you know at the seven
[00:31:28] minute mark of the second half I was on the right path Nevada was up 17 and then what did Dayton do
[00:31:35] they went 24 to 4 down the stretch 24 to 4 after Iowa had already I'm sorry Nevada Iowa whatever
[00:31:45] Nevada had went on a 16-0 run to in the first half so that was the definition of a game of runs
[00:31:52] but the Ron Holmes you know the big and one with two minutes left changed the whole
[00:31:57] tenor of that game and Dayton is moving on to play Arizona tomorrow
[00:32:04] yeah I actually picked Dayton and I remember when I was writing down I picked them
[00:32:08] and I was moved by pencils against the other page I thought about the altitude
[00:32:12] I was like you know how doesn't have any hills or mountains well you know what we don't run
[00:32:18] with it we'll let it roll it right what I did because my bracket would be even more terrible if I didn't
[00:32:25] but one thing I did get right is that I said or I haven't been proving right overall yet
[00:32:31] but something that I did say I said that the winner of Colorado and Boise in the play and was
[00:32:36] going to make a run I had Colorado winning that game I have Colorado in the sweet 16 so that means
[00:32:43] they beat I have them beating Marquette on Sunday but also in that conversation I said America's
[00:32:50] going to fall in love with Kai Simpson and low and behold he hit the Kawaii Esk
[00:32:57] game winner bouncing off the broom three or four times before it falls against the gators
[00:33:03] so you know I feel validated in that way but yeah like my bracket is pretty much
[00:33:10] DOA as well but it's fun because this is what we hear for we're here for Cinderella we're here
[00:33:16] for the storyline you know and this is something that the women basketball last year they had
[00:33:23] Kaitlyn versus Angel you know this year because Hayley transferred down LSU they had that was
[00:33:30] the game was she did this yeah and in this year the women actually shocked me because they're
[00:33:38] playing today they usually don't go head to head with them but now is the time to jump on some of
[00:33:45] the popularity that they have I think the women's players are more popular to talk about that
[00:33:51] I think KG and Paul Percival in their podcast is like I don't know what to do Zara it's like I know
[00:33:56] Kaitlyn and Hayley Van Leav you know Angel Reese Dost Ailey the coaches like they're starting to
[00:34:04] get a bit of a buzz so I mean Dost Ailey's in a commercial with coach K right now so it's just
[00:34:10] like it's tough because they I mean they stay there for a few years soon so you can kind of
[00:34:16] remember them following them whereas Lattie's guys who are freshmen or one year players
[00:34:20] coming in they're probably gonna be gone so the only thing I have a question about is
[00:34:28] is it a good thing or bad thing that the women don't typically have Cinderella?
[00:34:36] It just it just shows a difference in like the stability of it you know just having
[00:34:44] Kaitlyn Clark there for three or four years having this Casey Plum who was at
[00:34:54] Washington for all those years then you know Sabrina Nesco or Oregon you know all the women
[00:35:02] Brianna Stewart that did all those years in Yukon did the Long Streaks I think it's just because
[00:35:08] it's not as super it's not an expectation from the jump right into the league well they're
[00:35:14] professional league is I think it just gives you a better brand of basketball also now with NIL
[00:35:19] deals depending on their popularity they could probably stay a couple of years or still you know make
[00:35:25] they're probably making money now yeah they'll make from her W and B.A. deal right and if you guys
[00:35:32] aren't I keep looking down because I got TCU and Utah stayed on my phone so if y'all aren't watching
[00:35:38] this game like this is a really good game so far but yeah you know Duke got a little push from
[00:35:44] Vermont and then pushed them off like you know a nat on a pig's ass he's got him out of there
[00:35:51] you know but as I look at the rest of the NCAA tournament so far you know we talked about Yale
[00:35:58] and how they're advancing but North Carolina State is still here DJ Burns the run continues
[00:36:05] and he had one that he has one of the greatest quotes that I've heard in sports like
[00:36:09] it's nothing mind blowing or anything but yeah they were they were asking him a few weeks ago about
[00:36:15] his footwork and you know because he's a bigger guy and he said why used to watch Hakeem Alajuan
[00:36:21] videos but I ended up with Zach Randolph's body so and I was like yo that's very scary to think
[00:36:28] about in in a few years and a few years we might be talking about how he's the evolution of the
[00:36:34] shack or something like that but as he state you know they have the I don't know if it's
[00:36:41] fortune or unfortunate to try to stop Jack gokey tomorrow because you know they get Oakland
[00:36:48] that's gonna be tough because if he's feeling it if he goes two out of three early or if he
[00:36:54] knocks down the golf but if he knocks down two or three in a row your whole defense is going to shift
[00:37:00] because you're going to think back to the game you had two days earlier he's going to know he's
[00:37:04] on fire and he's probably going to do the same things when we like that while he's there be
[00:37:08] action about you see Keats make the adjustments that Cal didn't make Drake burned me again you know
[00:37:15] this is the second year in a row I put my faith in Tucker D'Vries you know he went one for 13 last
[00:37:20] year against Miami they had an eight point lead with five minutes left Miami of course ended up
[00:37:26] in the final four so yesterday they were playing Iowa State what you know eight point lead
[00:37:35] that day in blue and he went six for 18 so you know we'll have to see what happens I think
[00:37:42] daddy might be in play because you know his dad is the head coach he might be in play for Oklahoma
[00:37:47] State for their opening but we'll see what happens there but congratulations to Washington State
[00:37:53] you know first NCAA tournament since 2008 capped off with a win so Clay Thompson University
[00:38:00] goes on and shout out to Washington State too I don't know if everybody's familiar with Miles Rice
[00:38:10] you know last year he was diagnosed with lymphoma so he wasn't able to play so for the fact that he's
[00:38:18] back and in the NCAA tournament average and 15 points of game salute to him you know shout out
[00:38:24] to the dedication it just shows that there's no excuses you know if you want something you'll fight
[00:38:29] hard enough to achieve it you know so there's that then then you got as I'm looking here Marcus
[00:38:37] Damascus from Illinois with only trivia time he had a triple double yesterday how many triple
[00:38:49] doubles have there been an NCAA tournament history three final answer final answer
[00:38:59] you are wrong yeah I was like I was getting excited I thought it would be right I mean this is
[00:39:05] this is number 10 so you know here's some names for you Gary Grant Shaq Dremon Green twice Andre Miller
[00:39:13] the Wayne Way cold cold Aldrich in John Moran that's your triple double list right there
[00:39:21] John Moran a triple double he did against Florida State he sure did
[00:39:27] goalkeeper had 10 threes which is the second most internament history and no Steph Curry is not
[00:39:35] the record holder the record holder is a guy by the name of Jeff Friar of Loyola Mary Mount
[00:39:40] fame back in 1990 yeah I thought Steph for somebody recent would have been on it but I think Carson
[00:39:46] Edward 10 you're right yeah you remember Carson Edwards against Virginia he had 10 there was
[00:39:53] Freddie Banks back in the final four and 87 but look at forward as I so many Kentucky notes that
[00:40:05] I'm trying to get through without talking about them again you know but Purdue took care of
[00:40:13] Gremlin Purdue took care of Gremlin I appreciate that they tried to put the HBCU up and produce brackets
[00:40:20] so that Purdue could move on I just was like I was watching it as we're doing a pre-meeting they were
[00:40:27] like pumping up the crowd I was like you should be beat this team your best player is a flit
[00:40:32] in some change taller than everybody else before it shouldn't have been close I think at one point
[00:40:40] at halftime they were up six maybe 36 29 or something a lot of lines yeah so even then you should have
[00:40:52] we have a seven foot two guys seven four guy seven four yeah and at the rim every other defender
[00:40:58] looks like a little kid to whom he should just put his hand up get in the ball oh the way that people
[00:41:04] try to just put it Wilk Chamberlain and said is that what you're saying
[00:41:12] you should be able to score your team should score more points oh how about my points at halftime
[00:41:18] when you're like can you imagine playing a four foot nine a group of kids they're good yo I'm good
[00:41:25] four here all they're four five they're four foot ten I'm good four hundred you know said but uh
[00:41:32] my wester could suck the hill topper my wester could suck the hill toppers went into halftime with a
[00:41:38] seven point lead I knew it wasn't gonna last but you couldn't take my joy away at the time you know
[00:41:46] mark came back through Stevie Mitchell turned it on in the second half and said follow me as Mr.
[00:41:51] logical but say you said get in his backpack it is backpack you know and let's go to the second round
[00:41:57] so Colorado will be waiting for them Kai Simpson Lampkin and Cody Williams will be waiting for them
[00:42:04] you know uh we were talking about James Madison right now uh James Madison come out against Wisconsin
[00:42:11] 13 point halftime lead this is a team that Wisconsin I'm talking about that just beat Purdue last week
[00:42:17] um James Madison does have an open night win over Michigan State so you know this is this isn't a
[00:42:26] shock per se they need the margin is a shock but I don't think the fact that James Madison is winning
[00:42:34] should surprise anybody tomorrow we got North Carolina against Michigan State
[00:42:41] Tom iszo three and nine lifetime against North Carolina Owen Ford the NCAA tournament including
[00:42:49] a national title game um the eight ten you know this just random notes now uh the eight ten
[00:42:56] dukane and Dayton both move on you know LeBron's coach is the guy that the guys that taught him
[00:43:02] out of win coach d'ambrough and uh coach joys uh they're they're in the uh second brown going up
[00:43:09] against Illinois um the eight ten has not made a sweet 16 since 2014 the mountain west conference got
[00:43:19] six bids we got Utah State plan right now so far San Diego states the only one would have win so
[00:43:26] you know um well I guess Colorado State technically won the first four so the mountain west is currently
[00:43:33] two and four and I just want to push back I heard Andy cats you know and I respect Andy cats you know
[00:43:40] college basketball officiionato he was talking about how when Colorado State got blown out by Texas
[00:43:49] last night they felt the weight of the mountain west world on their backs because the mountain west
[00:43:58] in basketball has that ACC reputation in football of we'll give you these invitations but you never
[00:44:06] do anything with it like oh by the way San Diego State made the final four last year but second
[00:44:12] of all I doubt that while trying to guard D. Sue and Max Aismas Colorado State was thinking the
[00:44:19] mountain west is depending on us yeah I don't yeah I don't think that's uh yeah I don't think
[00:44:24] that's a valid argument I don't think what cares about with the mountain west thinks yeah they just
[00:44:30] got their asses and they just got their asses rolled sub-enters yeah something that I thought
[00:44:36] was fascinating um north western player um boo boo booey all time leading scoring in north
[00:44:46] western basketball history his brother twelve hundred points Taylor battle all time leading
[00:44:54] scoring Penn State basketball history so that was pretty cool um to learn that but north
[00:45:01] western moves on like I said they beat FAU uh Vlad golden of FAU 65% free throw shooter on the season
[00:45:10] went nine for eleven today but missed the one which was the front end of the one in one that would
[00:45:16] have put the game away so tough luck kid you know um but you know cold gate you know we're supposed to
[00:45:26] give bail or some trouble they did not all right Jayden Lee from San Diego State 32 and eight so
[00:45:33] I thought San Diego State was going to be in trouble without uh Mensa and Mark Bradley left over
[00:45:39] from last season but San Diego State had more than enough to take out UAV today it looked like the
[00:45:46] Mortal Kombat shadow match between those teams until the rest decided to start calling the stuff
[00:45:52] that they weren't calling in the first half got UAV in foul trouble and that was the end of that so
[00:46:00] all that to say the madness is here absolutely like some of my brackets pretty much torched
[00:46:08] don't look at the screen but the logic I said don't look at the screen
[00:46:15] all right so we wanted to have a conversation you could look we wanted to have a conversation
[00:46:22] uh about the NBA playoffs coming up the play-in start on April 16th so we wanted to know in the
[00:46:31] Western conference do you prefer the bottom or the top
[00:46:37] I just mean I just people what you wrote know was like I'm looking at my TV I'm looking at
[00:46:42] the score like maybe I'd attribute a question is on the score no so at the bottom so at the bottom
[00:46:47] we got the Lakers we got the Warriors right now their Sacramento Dallas is flirting around down
[00:46:54] there in New Orleans is it too far away from down there um and up top of course you got okay
[00:47:00] C Denver Minnesota and the Clippers so mr. logical asked me am I more interested in the bottom
[00:47:07] teams or the top teams so since it's his question I'm gonna let him answer first
[00:47:12] I personally think that the top teams are going to be the teams that push it like multiple rounds
[00:47:23] in the playoffs I understand the talent you know the talent to do those and as far as for Phoenix
[00:47:31] the trip with that they're dealing with I just feel as if I don't understand how people think
[00:47:37] that these teams are gonna just turn it on in April it just doesn't seem like it's gonna happen
[00:47:41] that way we talked about it earlier Dallas is only a couple of games out of fourth I get it but
[00:47:48] when you have these dynamic playmakers and these guys who are in the MVP conversation guys
[00:47:54] with champions guys are all stars you should probably be up in the top four where you have Minnesota
[00:48:04] Opency Denver those teams you know like that's that's where you belong if you're gonna make a
[00:48:11] the prime run in the playoffs and NBA you gotta be there you need home court because your role
[00:48:17] players play better at home than they do on the road if you're Denver you definitely want to
[00:48:21] want home court simply because the altitude and this that that mistake of having to play at
[00:48:28] Malhigh you know Malhigh's so I think the teams in the bottom more interesting is just that
[00:48:36] for all to surfaces Steph Clay and Dremont might not be in your April plans
[00:48:42] LeBron and AD potentially not being your April plans so the fact that this this talent
[00:48:50] this historical talent that's in the bottom plan is gonna make the plan interesting
[00:48:55] is gonna make Adam Silver maybe a little happy that the play the in season tournament
[00:49:02] the all-star game was pretty much a wash and then to come back with the play in tournament with Luca
[00:49:08] Kyrie LeBron Steph KTB like maybe subonus the bro you know maybe 80 so it's like you just have
[00:49:18] so many entertainment pieces but like I said it's only for a couple of days but then I guess people
[00:49:24] ramped up and rolled right to the playoffs I'm not sure maybe people tune out
[00:49:29] if there's no LeBron there's no AD if there's no Katie no book deal maybe people won't watch
[00:49:35] that series but with that being said that means at least a couple of these guys still got it
[00:49:42] that means Katie and Luke you know Kyrie look is still got in so you don't you won't get all of them
[00:49:47] because that's just a Bob Rock I got a nutrition and how their season planned out but
[00:49:52] I'll take you know seven seeded
[00:49:57] Lakers team going up against I think at this point is maybe the Timberwolves are second in the
[00:50:02] West last I looked I haven't looked today but last I looked it was Denver at two so we got Denver at two
[00:50:09] so you know you get the the Lakers at eight so eight one Lakers versus Thunder
[00:50:16] the old man versus the the young up and continent up and comers so I don't want to be that guy
[00:50:28] but I like the middle I knew you're gonna do some
[00:50:35] if I'm forced to choose one I'll choose the top you know because I want to see here it comes
[00:50:42] I want to see if SGA is the new hearty the guy that dominates the regular season
[00:50:48] manipulates the referees and then when we get to the postseason you don't get some of those
[00:50:54] calls you don't get some of those free throws that you're accustomed to and how you react to
[00:50:59] that and adjust so I'm interested in that he's a little smaller though so I think he might
[00:51:04] ax he might when he gets filed he won't have them bella shit because he's not like Harm was
[00:51:09] was a pretty thick dude I mean so is so I think he had to sell it a little bit more that's why
[00:51:14] it looked a little bit more obnoxious I am interested in the Pelicans you know now that's well
[00:51:22] knock on wood season isn't over yet but Zion's made it this far so you know I'm interested
[00:51:28] to see Zion in the playoffs you know and see what kind of noise he can make if the lights are too
[00:51:34] big for him you or too bright for him at the moment is too big for him I'm interested in that
[00:51:40] but if you left it up to like just strictly top and bottom I'm gonna go at the top um you know
[00:51:46] I mentioned SGA already obviously there's the question of Ken Denver repeat and if not who's
[00:51:53] going to beat him there's the question of how do the clippers blow it this year there's the
[00:51:58] question of yeah has Kitty become a cat because when Carl Towns comes back you know hopefully he'll
[00:52:08] be back before the playoffs I know Russell Westbrook will be back next week but if Carl
[00:52:13] Anthony Towns can get back get ready for the playoffs you know he hasn't had the best playoff
[00:52:18] career but if not Ken Anthony Edwards pick up the slack because I know he would like a redo of
[00:52:25] the play in last year was against the Lakers he went one for 14 or something like that so so I think
[00:52:32] you know we want to see a do over there as far as the bottom goes the only thing I'm excited
[00:52:39] about the bottom is who avoids the play in you know I want to see who gets the sixth seed
[00:52:49] that's what we got seven eight nine ten correct yeah so I want to see who think elimination
[00:52:56] because right now I think Dallas is in six so that would be big for Dallas to avoid six and I think
[00:53:05] that not to agree with Dallas Mike because I don't think that they're going to make the finals
[00:53:13] but I think that they can cause pain for one of these young teams like if Dallas with the matchup
[00:53:20] with OKC if Dallas was the matchup with Minnesota you know just off of the youth factor I feel like
[00:53:28] Kyrie and Luke could cause some problems so right now we got Timberwolves and Mavericks in the first
[00:53:33] round of fuses if the stage as is yeah I would like that series for Dallas at least start
[00:53:39] to get Dunders you get Dunders Kings Nugget Sons Timberwolves Mavericks Clippers Pellets.
[00:53:46] So here's another question though are the Kings the forgotten about spoiler because you know last
[00:53:53] year they came out of nowhere ended up with the three seed and like the beam was the talk of the
[00:53:59] nation you know they pushed the warriors to seven this year they know because they lost game seven at
[00:54:06] home but this they haven't really they really understand all that that that's put the word looking for
[00:54:15] but see that's the thing they didn't grow off the momentum like OKC had they followed up their
[00:54:22] almost making a playoffs last year with being you know top of the West this year
[00:54:27] but I think that the West is so tightly contested and so young at the top that that experience for
[00:54:36] the Kings could come through for them like we talked about how Demontess Sabonis since January has
[00:54:44] led the league in assistant rebounds they still have the Aaron Fox so they still have firepower that
[00:54:50] could give somebody trouble but what I would think in caution is that
[00:55:00] the Lakers would absolutely destroy OKC on the boards you know so I might be interested in
[00:55:07] that series to see how OKC just that changing of the guard like it's OKC going to send the old man
[00:55:15] home or does he have another trick in him you know I would be interested in that but it's more from
[00:55:19] the OKC side than the Lakers side because I don't know if I want to eat whether the Lakers wouldn't
[00:55:26] that series or lose that series I don't want to hear any of the narratives around the actual series
[00:55:32] I just want to watch the series but I don't want to hear any discussion about it
[00:55:37] yeah so if you got the Lakers best case scenario is eight at this point yeah that best case scenario
[00:55:45] is to get eight who are they hoping gets one because it might even charge their own destiny right now
[00:55:54] at 37 to 32 your three years back and see and I think they'd rather play OKC I do because Minnesota has
[00:56:05] you know provided that talent comes back healthy you know Minnesota has the twin towers if you will
[00:56:12] yeah but is it Rudy Gobert like kind of ease and neutralize in the playoffs he's just
[00:56:17] isolated on the make of defend well yeah when you got ATV from the room yeah when you got
[00:56:22] Donovan Mitchell jacking up 35 shots you know but but he's got Cat and you know he's got a real
[00:56:29] point guard Mike Conley you know he's got Anthony Edwards so like the so defensively he should be
[00:56:38] able to control the game better while not having to contribute offensively the way that he might have
[00:56:48] had to be their team is constructed you know pretty pretty solid as far as like yeah two young stars
[00:56:55] you you know you went out free and see you traded away a lot of picks and players to get a
[00:57:00] gathers you know making over 200 million dollars um grow players or legit uh I really like
[00:57:06] the coach and that that like I said I think they're building a winning culture
[00:57:11] to take away the play in take away the play in and the lakers are 30 and 32 this season um
[00:57:18] both turn it yeah if you take out the in-season tournament they're 30 and 32 gold and state
[00:57:24] last year you remember what talk about them was
[00:57:32] that they were the most dangerous team well no that they were like 11 and
[00:57:37] uh oh they're their terrible their terrible roe wreck like 11 and 31 yeah it was funny about that
[00:57:43] is this year they're 18 and 18 at home so they just switched venues that they can't play in
[00:57:52] yeah they're just they're just yeah they're just a bit of uh
[00:57:58] you know but obviously I think they're just like they're just a mediocre team
[00:58:01] and they they've had a great run i think all these guys have great run yeah I mean
[00:58:05] talked about Katie Booker and Beale well we're gonna get there we're gonna get there but like the
[00:58:09] play it like in the play and it's a one game scenario like so the Warriors obviously would have
[00:58:15] a punching chance as long as you have Wardel on your team you know but then once you get to
[00:58:21] an actual series I don't know if he can just will them because you know what was he had 50 in game
[00:58:28] seven against Sacramento last year uh 57 or something like that uh isn't that much I think it was
[00:58:35] it was close you know saying I'll look it up real quick but uh yeah but what you know but you know
[00:58:40] it's it's just he can go off for one or two games but we talk about it all the time like
[00:58:47] when they played Boston in the finals he had the 44 yeah and then he came back with 16 the next night
[00:58:57] at the age of like old for nine from three oh it was 50 it was 50 exactly
[00:59:01] uh and yeah so so then you got the sons you know they have the rant booker Beale
[00:59:13] when he's there and apparently Nurgut just the new Andre Drummond and you know Grayson Allen
[00:59:22] is the new Steve Kerr yo shooting 48% you know no but it's the 52% from three or something like
[00:59:32] that this year but the same thing though right as the concerns with Denver they don't have much of a
[00:59:38] bench and yeah it's not really a much of a concern because you know you tighten it up
[00:59:43] completely off anyway it is though but like with Denver it's not a concern because their champions
[00:59:50] you know they trust each other you know Yoke Jim Mary have that chemistry with the sons
[00:59:55] is an issue because you're relying on three dues that get hurt a lot but yeah the sons the
[01:00:01] issue it's the sons because you you gave up all your debt to get came last year and it's hard
[01:00:08] to relax here and then you get another trade to get Beale so just like a lot of you just had to
[01:00:13] make a lot of sense and you remember last year when they cleaned Denver in the second round
[01:00:20] booker and Durant both averaged like 44 minutes a game they were playing so you know
[01:00:26] they were basically playing a whole game and it's like when lose a draw I guess you know
[01:00:30] you go to the big dance dance we'll bring you yeah but the same thing you gotta get some jeep
[01:00:36] guys in there just just a rough cardio get these guys a break well you can stagger this year
[01:00:41] because you have Beale you know but the problem is is how effective this bill gonna be
[01:00:48] you know and how long can you get away with just one of the three on the field or on the court at
[01:00:57] one time like can you can you play a half quarter would just be on the floor can you can you play
[01:01:05] a full four minute stretch with just KD on the floor if necessary just to get out of the breaks yeah
[01:01:12] and this kind of less than the opportunity for injury yet so it's the same so it's the same concept
[01:01:17] as the warriors you know for a play-in game you know because realistically you only have to win one
[01:01:24] you know so you win your first play-in game you're in you don't necessarily have to win
[01:01:31] the second one you know but if you lose that first play-in game then obviously you need to win
[01:01:36] the second one so I think that the sun's in the warriors if they get to play in they definitely
[01:01:41] need to well the warriors have to win both because they're at 10 right now yeah yeah the war
[01:01:48] makers have to win don't look now but don't look now they got NASA right over their shoulder
[01:01:56] who is that the rockets
[01:02:02] mmm two and a half games back with what about 14 or so left 13 or 14 left so they're at 5.69
[01:02:12] game so they ain't glitch yet they ain't glitched just yet and the rockets have the best record in March
[01:02:19] so far 8 and 1 so like I said this goes back to my play-in argument that we had last year's like
[01:02:27] the rockets are going to play their star players the guys who just paid the young guns that they
[01:02:33] have something because they have an opportunity to get to 10 to get to the play-in that ticket
[01:02:39] those tickets are still gonna cost what they cost especially now with the weather changes getting warmer
[01:02:44] the NBA essentially the month of March because right now if you want to get additional
[01:02:50] 1 through 8 the Lakers are three games back with 13 games ago okay they're packing it in
[01:03:01] what I mean granted they have the braunade but any team in that position you're 3 3 and a half
[01:03:05] games back you must struggling all year you're probably packing in the Warriors 34 or the
[01:03:11] rockets 34 and 35 they're not trying to play didn't I try to play their young guns so you're gonna pay
[01:03:19] 250 bucks for these tickets 18 dollars for this these tickets you don't think that you don't think
[01:03:26] that the player makes me may you don't think a coach like E-May who has been to the finals
[01:03:32] is gonna try to make a push to get the young guys some experience or at least like because these are
[01:03:38] like for all intents and purposes since they're two and a half games back these last 13 games are
[01:03:43] playoff games for them in some ways if they yeah if they choose them because because of the plan
[01:03:49] I think these guys will play to get in because just like poker like Texas hold him like I got a
[01:03:56] chip I got a chair I got a chance and I still and I still push back and say they don't deserve to be
[01:04:02] in the playoffs anyway like that's cool that you think it's exciting essentially all they
[01:04:07] give expand the playoffs is the same thing like I said we're gonna go back to the old not you know
[01:04:11] not for long NFL when they went to 14 teams I thought them like I would at least only 32 you
[01:04:17] might have that 48% of the league into the championship round is like they had all year but
[01:04:23] it does lens its excitement that we get to you game because you know there's so many different
[01:04:29] scenarios I played out you know what like we talked about the a couple years ago when the
[01:04:35] trope knew that they couldn't get in so they were like well let's spoil green based chances
[01:04:40] you know stuff like that so I understand that piece but like I said the playing I like the plan
[01:04:47] and then when you have the added part of Miami making it to NBA finals as an HC
[01:04:53] it shows that you can make a run from that position is not likely despite not the best
[01:04:58] position you want to be in well I mean even the league or conference finals as a seven
[01:05:04] yeah that was a that was a job of ramp that he was like injured one game came back
[01:05:10] dropped like 40 something but that's that's he just had so many issues from the neck up
[01:05:16] like collectively I think collectively as a unit that Memphis Grizzly's team
[01:05:22] because there's no reason not to keep Dylan Brooks even though he was like a pass but I think
[01:05:26] big use I'd become too much of a pass then they had to jam around when they got shorter Dylan Brooks
[01:05:34] but he's not in the tagging us in that way but but you know but I do have my eyes on April 4th
[01:05:42] golden state at Houston you know that game could decide who gets in the playin
[01:05:48] and those are the kind of games where somebody somebody slips up and now you're three and a half
[01:05:54] games back and that's and that's the drawback but I said that's also like the Lord of the playing
[01:06:01] but I don't know about that range is just blows my mind I don't know about the liquor store because
[01:06:09] last year they had a few things that they won't have now like like I thought having Dennis Schroeder
[01:06:16] was underrated for them you know especially if they were to match up with Demar again he was the one
[01:06:21] guy on the roster that could give Jamal Mary some issues you know and Demar already owns them anyway
[01:06:29] then you got Vanderbilt's out for the season now we just found out you know Vincent was probably
[01:06:36] the one he was probably the one due besides DeLo that Ken Shoot or that can knock down a three
[01:06:43] and I'm not sure when he got injured or what happened now but he's been it's something with his
[01:06:49] knee like he's been hurt for quite some time now so I'm saying like did they not have the physical
[01:06:55] that's a good question you know but of course I gotta ask I know we're talking about the West but
[01:07:01] I gotta ask what's Boston's reaction if they end up with Miami they'll encourage Miami
[01:07:13] on crush them yeah I mean we're not making predictions now but
[01:07:18] no it was just something I was thinking about the end of the day like like just imagine
[01:07:22] I think they'll relish an opportunity to to play Miami again um and I think I predict five games
[01:07:32] a gentleman sweet okay okay boss because we talked about in our pre-media with you know MVP
[01:07:38] count fish with tatem so for the swan I think boss is just too good I think there is a thing that
[01:07:44] you can look at the regular season and believe that it counts for something I know that a lot of
[01:07:50] the sports that we talk about um at this this value and am I how much do we talk about them
[01:07:57] college football we pretty much have essentially ignored the regular season we use a regular season as
[01:08:09] like a minimal criteria like hey did you did you get this GPA okay now you can apply for
[01:08:15] this massive program right we don't really care how you got it we're not worried about that but
[01:08:19] did you get did you get to 11 wins did you win your conference do you have less than three losses
[01:08:26] because like 11 and two 11 and one are you in that range cool now let us take you and put you what
[01:08:33] we want to put you but what boss is doing is like they are beating teams by 11 12 points on
[01:08:42] average at 350 point wins this year they have two very young studs with experience we talked
[01:08:48] about the experience piece I don't think there's a team in the NBA that can roll that out onto the
[01:08:56] court I think Jamal Murray and Yoke is a great combination they have the recent experience I think
[01:09:02] Damianis are good duels but they don't have a shared experience a shared chemistry of
[01:09:12] watching the confetti fall for another team you know losing like to some of you know some of
[01:09:20] these these great they lost their stuff they lost a LeBron back in the day in the game 7
[01:09:25] having carry on its use so I think they just gone through so much together collectively I know
[01:09:30] Tatum dealing with you know his success and they having Jay LeBron come to follow a year and
[01:09:36] they just kind of been on his rise together I think this might be the year that they put together I
[01:09:42] think out West you have more like you tell preferring the top of the bottom I think one of the teams
[01:09:49] in the bottom whether the Mavericks end up in the play-in and the Kings kind of like in a wiggle their
[01:09:55] way out I think if his Mavericks sides Lakers warriors any one of those teams that get 7-8
[01:10:09] I don't think anybody's going to be able to round them nuggets so either you want six
[01:10:16] or eight well the problem with the problem is you can use the bottom like the Mavericks have to stay
[01:10:21] in six so they can play the Temporals and maybe match up with that in experience or four to eight
[01:10:28] and then go head-to-head with SGA and LUKA and see what you could do well the problem is is that
[01:10:37] Yoke is just too smart so like when we go back through NBA history like just looking at like
[01:10:44] from the start of Jordan to now you could get Mike in I gotta take over mode you know you
[01:10:56] could get Kobe in I got Shaq but I'm a four shots mode you know you could you know LeBron was smart
[01:11:05] and you could get him in this is the best shot mode so there's this navigation of
[01:11:13] should I take over should I not take over maybe I can take over game two whatever like this whole
[01:11:19] like chess game that's going on in his head and then think that was one of those games where he did
[01:11:24] do that yeah yeah he only had to three assists he had like 30 points three assists yet yeah
[01:11:29] Yonis Yonis was more like de Kimbe where it's like don't call them and that was just like the
[01:11:36] game plan so he would force you know do an extra spin move for no reason just out of question yeah
[01:11:43] just something like that travel like like like Yoke is just like look this is what I need to do
[01:11:50] tonight tomorrow I might need to do something different so out of all those guys he's more in that
[01:11:56] LeBron dain of he's gonna do what it takes to win that particular game on that night yeah you can't
[01:12:03] get him up you can't swim down and that's what makes him so much better you can't defend them
[01:12:08] effectively with a guy his size because Lucas kind of that way Lucas kind of that way at times but
[01:12:15] he gets a great playoff switch he does but he yet but he gets tunnel vision he gets Luca legend
[01:12:24] and a playoff yeah he gets tunnel vision to where once like sort of like you were talking about
[01:12:30] goki earlier like Luca has a shot or two fall early or like in a certain moment of the game I think
[01:12:36] you said this before is like watch out because he's going fire him off like he's gonna shoot him up
[01:12:42] yep I'm high I'm shooting it up yeah and he but he's not a shooter so therefore like eventually
[01:12:48] it runs out you know so where he starts off you know in a you know I don't know he'll start off
[01:12:55] in a Ray Allen mode and end up J.R. Smith yeah look at he handles the ball a lot if they can move the
[01:13:05] rock and get in a sign rolls to their guys who are 610 it up like listen when you're on the floor with
[01:13:15] me and Luca me and Kyrie this is your job I need you box not rebound and kicking out so we can
[01:13:24] move this ball around like that's all I need you to do don't worry about dribbling don't worry about
[01:13:29] shots if you take this lob if it's the lob dunk we got it but just play your role do your job
[01:13:38] and it'll be fine like I said I watched that game in our last show probably last week and I'm like
[01:13:45] I didn't see anything that showed a system like I watched the boss because I watched into the
[01:13:50] Boston game right before that and Boston it you knew because they had like four guys at the top of
[01:13:59] the key and I believe our horror was on the block and the ball move you knew exactly where it was going
[01:14:06] and it was pump fakes because guys were closing our heart pump fakes kicked to the corner pump fake
[01:14:12] kicking back somebody steps inside to get a little pass off move it around move it around and they
[01:14:17] were getting open looks that was a game when they hit like 27 to 28 3s I like 52 attempts and they say
[01:14:27] you live by the three you die by the three but if I can get some of the best shooters in the world
[01:14:34] the best basketball players on earth I can get them wide open looks in the corner or standing on the
[01:14:40] wing the spot they're comfortable in yeah you live by the three which are probably not going to
[01:14:45] die by in that situation I'm not sure I don't I'm not sure if I have that same team in the West
[01:14:51] like I said Dow just looked a little you know this guy I mean that team in the West be
[01:14:56] aridically should be the clippers you know but there's just something like why or was it
[01:15:03] why it might have been Paul George actually the other day he was talking about how they don't
[01:15:07] have an identity and it's like dude like so weird thing to say and then James Arden as night with
[01:15:14] the whole jumping of block the shot he was like I think we need to interject a little fun
[01:15:20] into the team we've been kind of flat so are they just bored because they're essentially a lot
[01:15:26] I would say essentially locked in the fork as felon kids could make a run well I mean Russell
[01:15:31] be back next week like he's the one that'll get up in people's face and you know tell them to
[01:15:38] get their stuff together or you know show more effort or whatever the critique is he's the one
[01:15:44] that I imagine just doing that so with him not around they're just lawless
[01:15:51] and you know so like I don't see like I can see why
[01:15:59] being like come on y'all and that's it
[01:16:08] like let's turn it around you know but you know it's going to be interesting coming down
[01:16:13] the turnpike here if you will I'm interested like I said but I got my eye on April 4th
[01:16:20] for Houston and Golden State you know to see if Houston can actually get up into the playing
[01:16:26] because that would be a great story as well and that might shift my focus to the bottom instead of
[01:16:32] the top but for now I think I like the top you know and we'll see but ladies and gentlemen Monday
[01:16:40] night Monday night we got more NCAA tournament reaction because by then we'll know who's in
[01:16:48] sweet 16 you know to start on next Thursday and Friday I will have zero those teams
[01:16:58] you know what I'm gonna use then we're gonna finally get into this baseball preview on Monday
[01:17:04] so talk about this gambling situation with O'Connor O'Connor and his uh interpreter I guess
[01:17:10] his interpreter that has access to four and a half million of his dollars and you know we might
[01:17:17] even throw some uh you know it ain't just O'Connor you know apparently Bruno Mars out here
[01:17:22] owing all the money too so 50 million dollars yeah so you know I'm gonna go back about my little
[01:17:29] gambling problem you know lots to talk about next week but hey he is mr. logical I am two five
[01:17:39] you know like us subscribe send us an email if you old school grandma probably got a send to email
[01:17:46] she ain't got a blast you know saying fast somebody to the telegram so the telegram you know what I mean
[01:17:53] but carry your pigeon what do you get it do we will be back next week have a great weekend
[01:18:02] enjoy the madness we love you peace
[01:18:09] all I'm coming to get you
