[00:00:06] Yes, you are now listening to the sounds of Sports Reports As Ordered.
[00:00:13] And tonight, we're gonna pick out some NBA Awards, Coach of the Year, MVP, etc.
[00:00:20] We're gonna recap some NFL trades, have a conversation about news from around the league.
[00:00:26] And then of course tonight, we're gonna talk about the college football playoff.
[00:00:30] Who's still alive? Who's gonna get there?
[00:00:32] It's me, 2-5, your unorthodox statistician going left so much you thought I was south.
[00:00:39] I can see what Deontay Wilder did.
[00:00:43] And I got with me the even kill.
[00:00:47] Born in Texas, raised in Virginia, representing everything new Jerroos to the point
[00:00:51] that he is frustrated and upset and don't know how New York just declaimed Frank Sinatra.
[00:00:58] Makes no sense.
[00:01:00] You, Josie, stand up.
[00:01:02] Best pizza on earth.
[00:01:03] Do me a favor.
[00:01:04] Like, review, subscribe, share, rate, do all the free things.
[00:01:09] Do all the good things.
[00:01:13] And of course, we're gonna start it off with that little thing called, get it off my chest.
[00:01:19] So real quick, nothing too serious.
[00:01:21] I was sitting here Saturday night.
[00:01:23] Running in between my neighbor's house and my house,
[00:01:26] because we was outside having a campfire.
[00:01:28] I was watching Ohio State and Oregon on my phone.
[00:01:30] My phone got down to like 15% so I had to sneak in the house and I had to go to the bathroom real quick.
[00:01:34] And I had to watch, you know, the fourth quarter or whatever.
[00:01:37] So I was sitting here watching this game.
[00:01:39] Everything was lovely.
[00:01:40] It was the game of the year so far.
[00:01:42] One of the few games that actually live up to the height.
[00:01:45] And as I was sitting here, there was about 10 seconds left.
[00:01:49] You know, Ohio State had the ball trying to drive to get in field goal range.
[00:01:53] They're about 10 yards away from a 56 yard field goal, which is about five yards longer than that kicker's career high.
[00:02:02] Like, so out of a timeout, Dan Lanning sends 12 men on the field because he's like, you know, hey, how can we find a way to keep them out of field goal range?
[00:02:12] You know what?
[00:02:14] These rules are dumb because if there's a false start, if there's a hold 10 second runoff, the game's over unless Ohio State's got a timeout.
[00:02:23] But if we commit the penalty, they're going to let us play and let the time run off the clock.
[00:02:28] So they let the play happen.
[00:02:31] Four seconds run off the clock.
[00:02:33] That leaves Ohio State with six seconds left.
[00:02:35] They got five yards closer.
[00:02:37] So that was a gamble.
[00:02:38] That was an educated risk.
[00:02:39] Let them get these five yards and we'll try to hold them from there.
[00:02:43] But six seconds.
[00:02:44] So Will Howard takes the snap.
[00:02:47] Pulls a Nico on us.
[00:02:48] Nico ran out of bounds.
[00:02:49] Will Howard decided I'm a slide and try to call this timeout, except for you only had six seconds.
[00:02:55] So you couldn't do it in enough time to pull it off.
[00:02:59] So I heard somebody else mention that it reminded them of Dak when he was trying to run to the line against San Francisco in that playoff game.
[00:03:06] Completely different.
[00:03:08] Yeah, I know it was.
[00:03:09] But, you know, people got to make their comparisons.
[00:03:11] So first of all, Ohio State fans, Ohio State supporters, I don't think that's why y'all lost this game.
[00:03:20] Because I would say it was the over 500 yards you gave up to Oregon.
[00:03:24] I would say it's the 32 points that you gave up to Oregon.
[00:03:27] You know, I would say you should have just made one more play.
[00:03:32] The corner that gave up a perfect passer rating all game.
[00:03:35] Yeah, but I'll get to him later.
[00:03:37] But I'll give you a benefit.
[00:03:38] I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
[00:03:40] You know what I mean?
[00:03:40] So the NCAA, I'll give them a hand clap real quick because they came out today as much as I criticized them.
[00:03:48] They came out today and they said, you know what?
[00:03:50] No more.
[00:03:51] When this happens, the clock is not – the time will get re-added to the clock.
[00:03:57] Well, I got one better for you.
[00:03:59] I got two better for you, NCAA.
[00:04:01] How about once the ball is snapped and you verify that there's 12 men on the field, how about you just blow the play dead right there?
[00:04:09] You know what I mean?
[00:04:10] You don't even have to worry about the clock.
[00:04:12] If you're going to penalize the offense and say, well, hey, holding false start, 10-second runoff.
[00:04:19] If the defense pulls a stunt like that, put 10 seconds back on the clock.
[00:04:25] Penalize the defense.
[00:04:27] Penalize the team for trying to play this chess game that could end up being checkers if you had policies in place.
[00:04:37] Now, Ryan Day and Will Howard both short-circuited during this play, during this ending of this game.
[00:04:46] Clock management off the rails.
[00:04:48] Denzel Burke, you know, he was supposed to be one of the top corners in the draft next year.
[00:04:54] I thought he was like, you know, taking it to Ohio State.
[00:04:58] Marshawn Lattimore, turns out he was just Eli Apple.
[00:05:01] And, oh, by the way, did you see that Eli Apple just got signed by the Dolphins?
[00:05:06] But, you know, but when I look at this.
[00:05:08] They're trying anything to win.
[00:05:10] Yeah.
[00:05:10] But when I look at this, I want to give the NCAA a hand because they took swift action.
[00:05:15] Now the only thing I got left is do something about Lane Kiffin and his players faking these injuries.
[00:05:23] It's going to be tough.
[00:05:24] The injury faking thing is it's a staple of football.
[00:05:30] It works outside of two minutes.
[00:05:32] I just say deal with it.
[00:05:33] I just say have a plan.
[00:05:34] If you're in the offense and you're playing Ole Miss, just have a plan in place to where you're going to go quick.
[00:05:40] My plan is I can do you for real.
[00:05:42] And if they don't fall quick enough, snap the ball.
[00:05:44] Like if you know that whole thing back in the day.
[00:05:46] Remember back in the day your parents used to tell you, you know, it's going to hurt me more than it hurts you.
[00:05:50] It's going to hurt me to break your ankle.
[00:05:52] Or like when they say don't play with crutches because you might end up needing them.
[00:05:55] Yeah.
[00:05:56] I believe that.
[00:05:57] But yeah, I just wanted to say that.
[00:05:58] I like the swift action.
[00:06:00] I really don't understand like some of the rules because I remember it was a game, Tennessee versus New England.
[00:06:07] And Bill Belichick and Mike Rabel were playing like the rule loophole.
[00:06:11] Like the clock keeps running if you keep getting like defensive penalties.
[00:06:17] It was something strange that they were doing where he picked up on, you know,
[00:06:21] Bill Belichick is in the weeds about the rules.
[00:06:24] You know, Julian Edelman talked about how he was someone was arguing a rule.
[00:06:30] I think Matt Light was arguing a rule with Bill Belichick.
[00:06:33] He looked at him saying, you're really going to argue with me about rules?
[00:06:38] He was like, yeah, you know what?
[00:06:39] Bill, you might be like, no, I think you misinterpreted that.
[00:06:44] So, I mean, I like I like the swift action, but ultimately you got to put yourself in a better position.
[00:06:51] I know sometimes games come down to the final play in two minutes.
[00:06:56] My son played a high school.
[00:06:57] They played their game on Saturday.
[00:06:59] It felt like the rest were just throwing flags on our kids and just missing the face mask for the other team.
[00:07:05] Like I never feel something's deliberate.
[00:07:07] This one felt deliberate or they were just that blind and oblivious.
[00:07:10] So it happens.
[00:07:12] But at the end of the day, you got to make plays when you're out of the team to make plays come.
[00:07:17] He should have slid at four seconds, got that timeout and attempted a 58-yard field goal versus a 56-yarder by taking those extra two yards.
[00:07:26] But they'll be all right.
[00:07:27] They're in the Big Ten.
[00:07:28] They're a big draw.
[00:07:28] They're going to fill any stadium during the championship.
[00:07:31] Just win out.
[00:07:31] You'll be good to go.
[00:07:32] Yeah, we'll get back to that later.
[00:07:34] Yeah.
[00:07:35] So I might get off my chest a little simple.
[00:07:38] Something that's near and dear to me is called leadership.
[00:07:41] I'm big.
[00:07:42] I'm big on leadership.
[00:07:43] I'm big on when you're put in a position to be a leader, even by de facto.
[00:07:47] Like big brother, because I have three older sons and I have one daughter.
[00:07:52] So if the oldest one's not here and the middle one's not here, the youngest one, listen, I know you got some going on, but this is a big brother responsibility for right now.
[00:07:59] And then when the middle one's here, like, yo, you got these two, you're driving now, they need to get from place point A to point B.
[00:08:05] I'm really big on owning your responsibility, your leadership, and not just bragging about it.
[00:08:11] Not going out telling, oh, look, I got, you know, I'm the oldest.
[00:08:14] I got, you know, two little brothers and a little sister.
[00:08:18] You're just bragging about it and everybody's giving you credit.
[00:08:20] Now I need you to put the work in when it's your time to do that same thing with me.
[00:08:24] I can't just be like, yo, my kids are so bright.
[00:08:27] They're athletic.
[00:08:28] They do all this.
[00:08:28] And then when it comes time for me to be dad, I step to the side because I don't feel like it.
[00:08:33] I feel like a couple of organizations are suffering from that, that lack of leadership.
[00:08:38] One being a New York Jets, even though it's essentially a family owned business, you know, Woody Johnson, Johnson, Johnson.
[00:08:45] They're pretty successful in other aspects of their business.
[00:08:48] The way they're handling their football team is a debacle.
[00:08:52] The Dallas Cowboys, another lack of leadership.
[00:08:55] The nepotism is kind of running rampant.
[00:08:58] And we've seen both of those teams like that, that, that problem rears head this week.
[00:09:03] Aaron Rodgers, I get it.
[00:09:05] You want to call, you know, call the playoffs and say, hey, that guy's supposed to be up the boundary.
[00:09:10] That's the case.
[00:09:11] Why'd you throw it?
[00:09:13] You could have thrown a debris saw on the flat or you could have thrown better passes about the game.
[00:09:18] Or you can simply stop trying to make this perfect highlight pass and just hit the check down and let or hit the drag route.
[00:09:27] Everything doesn't have to be a beautiful ass back shoulder.
[00:09:30] Last week, the game against London.
[00:09:33] Mike Williams was on top of Stephon Gilmore.
[00:09:36] Pause.
[00:09:37] He could have just thrown it to the pylon.
[00:09:40] Right.
[00:09:40] Let them fight it out.
[00:09:41] But he wants to throw.
[00:09:43] Oh, I'm going to throw this perfect back shoulder.
[00:09:44] Like, no, we need the touchdown anyway.
[00:09:46] So if you're going to throw it down there to me and you and I don't have that chemistry, you can tell through the weeks that we've worked and practiced.
[00:09:53] Obviously, you guys are on the same page.
[00:09:56] Be a leader.
[00:09:57] Put that where he needs it.
[00:10:00] Not where you want to be.
[00:10:01] That's not what leaders do.
[00:10:02] Leaders put their people in the best positions to succeed, not demand their people be in position for them to succeed.
[00:10:09] I mean, you know, serving leadership.
[00:10:13] Jerry Jones.
[00:10:13] Jerry Jones can't front.
[00:10:14] I thought you are a billionaire.
[00:10:17] Your team is worth six billion dollars.
[00:10:19] If you were to sell it today, roughly, probably even more.
[00:10:22] I think Denver went for six.
[00:10:24] Washington went for Denver went for four and four point six.
[00:10:27] Washington was six point two.
[00:10:29] So Dallas is seven.
[00:10:32] Call it.
[00:10:33] We'll call it six point five to be safe.
[00:10:35] And you mean to tell me you couldn't come up with twenty two million dollars to pay Derek Henry for the next two years.
[00:10:40] You see what he's doing in Baltimore.
[00:10:42] That's your problem.
[00:10:43] We are.
[00:10:43] Everybody called it out.
[00:10:44] You have to be a genius to recognize that.
[00:10:46] Yeah.
[00:10:46] Bring it back.
[00:10:47] Ezekiel Elliott, who looks like an offensive guard who did nothing for New England.
[00:10:51] Was it going to be better for you when you consider you cut him a year ago?
[00:10:56] So you get on the you get on this radio show because you want your voice to be heard.
[00:11:00] You want your team to be in the news.
[00:11:01] You want to be relevant.
[00:11:02] And then when someone calls you to the carpet, you get all upset.
[00:11:05] That's not what leaders do.
[00:11:06] Own it.
[00:11:07] Hey, as an owner, I've done a great job as a GM recently.
[00:11:11] Not so much.
[00:11:13] I held.
[00:11:14] I had CeeDee Lamb hold out cause friction in the locker room.
[00:11:17] Paid him.
[00:11:18] Had Dak hold out cause friction between him and I.
[00:11:21] Because Dak was in the media talking like, I don't care what this dude says.
[00:11:24] He says all that shit on TV.
[00:11:27] Like, that's like, that's the guy that's expecting a like $200 million check from you.
[00:11:31] And he doesn't even respect you enough to keep it inside.
[00:11:34] Like, he need to get a corporate answer.
[00:11:36] Like, yeah, Jerry says a lot of stuff on TV.
[00:11:40] It's just a lack of respect.
[00:11:42] And that's what you get when you're not a good leader.
[00:11:44] People don't respect you.
[00:11:45] As residents say, he's saying words.
[00:11:48] Yeah.
[00:11:49] But, um, so, I mean, if you look around the league where guys are truly empowered, they're successful.
[00:11:55] Kansas City, Spagnola, Matt Nagy, both were fired as head coaches.
[00:12:01] They come work back for Andy Reid.
[00:12:03] Complete autonomy.
[00:12:04] They could do what they do.
[00:12:05] Andy Reid oversees.
[00:12:06] It works out.
[00:12:08] D'Amico Rhines, rookie quarterback last year.
[00:12:11] 10 wins, winning division.
[00:12:12] We had him projected to go 3-14, 4-13.
[00:12:17] Then you got a guy like Nick Sirianni.
[00:12:19] Just went to Super Bowl a couple years ago.
[00:12:21] You thought, you would think he would get better as a leader.
[00:12:23] He's out here acting the fool.
[00:12:25] One of the most immature people in sports right now.
[00:12:28] But if that's the stick, that's the stick.
[00:12:30] But when it falls apart, we'll see that the teams that are really surviving are the teams with great leadership, not great showmanship.
[00:12:37] We're going to talk about the Jets.
[00:12:39] We'll talk about Dallas.
[00:12:41] And at the end of the year, they might have a combined 12-13 wins between the two teams.
[00:12:49] We'll talk about them every week on every show.
[00:12:52] What are you talking about here?
[00:12:54] But Houston's going to have 11 or 12 wins.
[00:12:57] Kansas City's going to have 11 or 12 wins.
[00:13:00] Philly's going to be struggling.
[00:13:01] Probably won't make the playoffs.
[00:13:02] They're going to have the clean house.
[00:13:03] So the difference between leadership and showmanship is top notch.
[00:13:08] I would just wish these guys would kind of employ that opportunity.
[00:13:11] Like we're saying, you're going to be a leader, be a leader.
[00:13:13] You're going to go on a radio show and take these bullets, take the bullets.
[00:13:16] Don't bring your kid to the press conference so people don't fire off on you.
[00:13:19] Because if I was there, I'd be like, yeah, fuck your kid.
[00:13:22] Why are you out here acting like an asshole all the time?
[00:13:26] Plug your ears, kid.
[00:13:28] Like, why are you out here shaving your head, screaming at fans?
[00:13:31] Like, why do you need to be that braggadocious?
[00:13:32] You're already the head coach.
[00:13:35] Like, what do you mean?
[00:13:36] He had the mini-play in the day.
[00:13:39] Yo, nobody wish death on you.
[00:13:40] We wish maturity for you.
[00:13:44] Nobody trying to murk you.
[00:13:45] You trying to kill your own career.
[00:13:48] As a Super Bowl coach, man, that buys you three years.
[00:13:51] Look at Doug Peterson.
[00:13:54] You get to a Super Bowl.
[00:13:55] Time is running out.
[00:13:56] Man, you lost to Patrick Mahomes.
[00:13:57] We get it.
[00:14:00] But a lot of people done that.
[00:14:03] So shout out to leadership and great leaders.
[00:14:07] I just happen to be a good one myself.
[00:14:09] I just wish other professionals would embody such an ideology.
[00:14:14] But we'll see.
[00:14:16] Like I said, when they're sitting at home late January or guys don't play because of tight hamstrings,
[00:14:23] when their season's over, two or three weeks before the season actually ends, we'll see if some changes are made.
[00:14:29] Yeah.
[00:14:30] And safe travels, residente.
[00:14:32] You know, it's funny, you know, because now you have an opportunity.
[00:14:35] The trade deadline's coming up in a few weeks.
[00:14:38] So, you know, now you can potentially try to right some of your wrongs.
[00:14:42] You know, you didn't go get Derrick Henry.
[00:14:44] Can you go get, say, a Travis Etienne?
[00:14:47] Could you go get like a, well, Devin Singletary, Giants wouldn't trade with you.
[00:14:51] Could you get a Zach Moss or somebody like that?
[00:14:54] You know, I don't know why you let Tony Pollard go in the first place.
[00:14:57] Not that he's a star or anything, but he's better than anything you've got in that running back room right now.
[00:15:03] I see if you let him, if you had a plan to replace him.
[00:15:07] Yeah.
[00:15:07] But obviously they didn't.
[00:15:09] You know, and that's the problem.
[00:15:10] They didn't even formulate one.
[00:15:11] And that's the problem.
[00:15:12] You know, just like Mike McCarthy, right?
[00:15:13] What's his status?
[00:15:15] This is the last year of his contract.
[00:15:18] You know, like, for the fact that we haven't even heard about a conversation that involves the word extension.
[00:15:26] Does that mean he's gone?
[00:15:28] Yo, Mike McCarthy going to Jacksonville or Las Vegas.
[00:15:34] Okay.
[00:15:35] All right.
[00:15:36] Well, I feel bad for an Antonio Pierce, but I think he, I don't think he gets, I don't think he gets out of this.
[00:15:41] I think he gets out of this year and he gets fired at the end of the season.
[00:15:44] But they're going to be one, they're going to be one of those teams that, uh, they're going to be sellers.
[00:15:49] Like we, you know, as we, we getting down to this Amari Cooper, Devontae Adams trade, like obviously the writing was on the wall from the time that, and I've talked to my father, like my dad was up this weekend.
[00:16:01] Uh, so I drove down to Virginia and picked him up and came back and dreaded.
[00:16:04] So we, we talked a lot about sports last night.
[00:16:06] One of the conversations we were having was that who benefits from the Adams trade and how we knew it was going to happen.
[00:16:20] Like I told him, I knew it was going to happen when the Raiders, just like they did with, um, Versace a few years back, won all those unnecessary games, ruin their draft position.
[00:16:37] Didn't get a good draft pick.
[00:16:39] They did the same thing with Antonio Pierce.
[00:16:40] And I get that he wanted to keep his job.
[00:16:42] He wanted to show you with a five, but at some point you needed to be around nine to 11 in this draft to get a realistic shot at jumping into the top six to get one of these quarterbacks.
[00:16:56] Now, a lot of quarterbacks went in that top 12, I believe five, six.
[00:17:02] So yeah, you had one, two, three, eight, 11, 12.
[00:17:08] 12.
[00:17:08] Yeah.
[00:17:09] So yeah, those, those five go.
[00:17:12] I was like, I still feel like Atlanta and Vegas could have made a deal.
[00:17:18] And if I was Vegas, I'm like, listen, I got Devontae Adams favorable contract considering everyone's getting paid.
[00:17:26] I would have made that.
[00:17:27] I would have pulled the trigger and called Atlanta.
[00:17:29] Like, yo, can we, what do we got to do to get the eight?
[00:17:32] Even if they love pennics, would you take two firsts in a couple of seconds?
[00:17:38] Because I get that these draft picks seem valuable, but we're watching guys every year not pan out.
[00:17:46] Mm-hmm.
[00:17:47] And if it goes, if it goes sideways, like you said, you could have moved Adams for a second.
[00:17:51] Like, you can do other things.
[00:17:53] I feel like hoarding these draft picks like your Danny Ainge just to do nothing with them doesn't make any sense.
[00:18:00] So make a splash move from, I think they were like 14 or something, 13, 14.
[00:18:05] They were right after Denver.
[00:18:06] Yeah.
[00:18:07] Up to eight.
[00:18:09] They didn't make that move.
[00:18:10] And when you went to the season with Aiden O'Connell and Gardner Minshew, considering that, and on top of that.
[00:18:15] Whose idea was that anyway?
[00:18:18] Exactly.
[00:18:19] I don't know whose idea it was, but then you had the Netflix show come out, Receiver, and Devontae Adams is mic'd up.
[00:18:26] He is not holding back on how much he hated Jimmy Garoppolo, how much he hated the passing situation in Vegas.
[00:18:34] And then you bring in Gardner Minshew, it's like, I like Gardner.
[00:18:38] I think he's dope.
[00:18:39] I think he's a great invite to like a party or a cookout to go bowling with.
[00:18:43] But ride or die with a $28 million wide receiver who's used to Aaron Rodgers, that was a bad move.
[00:18:49] Well, that was the funny part about it.
[00:18:50] The last time we saw Gardner Minshew, his coach was on video telling him that he fucked up a fourth down play that kept them from making the playoffs.
[00:18:58] No, it was edited.
[00:18:59] It was edited.
[00:18:59] That was an early one.
[00:19:00] Oh, that was edited?
[00:19:01] It was edited.
[00:19:02] I know what I saw.
[00:19:03] That was still the last, whether it was edited or not, that was the last thing I saw.
[00:19:07] It was an earlier play from that game where he said we had that.
[00:19:12] And then when the fourth down pass got dropped, it got edited to make it look like he said.
[00:19:19] Well, all I'm saying is the last thing we saw about Gardner Minshew, whether it was edited or not, was his coach telling him that he messed up a play.
[00:19:28] Definitely that last game.
[00:19:30] And like I said, I like Gardner Minshew.
[00:19:31] I think he is probably one of the most exciting non-starting quarterbacks in the league.
[00:19:39] Gardner Minshew is one of those dudes that you talk about like, he's a gamer.
[00:19:44] He's like a more charismatic case keeper.
[00:19:46] He's fucking Kyle Lorton.
[00:19:49] And he's probably fun to be around.
[00:19:51] I love his personality.
[00:19:52] I love his little country swag.
[00:19:54] But it was not going to keep Devontae Adams.
[00:19:57] I think we all, like I said, I said it before the season started.
[00:20:00] I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one.
[00:20:02] Adams was going to be a Jet.
[00:20:04] I don't know why the Jets pussyfooted around for this long.
[00:20:08] They should have just made it straight in July.
[00:20:10] And his hamstring is better now, too.
[00:20:14] Hey, I don't care what hurts.
[00:20:17] You know what I'm saying?
[00:20:18] Apparently he's playing against the Steelers this weekend.
[00:20:20] He should have been wearing 17-footed Jets this summer.
[00:20:25] As soon as Aaron got back from his ecstasy mushroom retreat in the mountains of Washington or Lake Timodabo,
[00:20:37] or whatever the hell he was, they should have been like, yo, we know what you want.
[00:20:40] Let's go get Devontae.
[00:20:42] Yeah, back when Aaron Rodgers was getting high down in Lake Titicaca.
[00:20:46] They should have let Mike Williams go to Kansas City instead of trying to, like, take something from Kansas City.
[00:20:53] So they can't.
[00:20:54] They should have just let Mike Williams go to Kansas City, get Devontae Adams,
[00:20:57] and give Antonio Pierce an excuse for why his team is going to be so bad in 2024.
[00:21:04] But now it looks like you don't know how to control your team.
[00:21:06] Because I heard Max Crosby is potentially on the block.
[00:21:10] But even with that, I don't even know what this does for the Jets.
[00:21:13] Because Aaron Rodgers was out there looking like Andrew Luck the other night.
[00:21:19] You know what I'm saying?
[00:21:19] Getting smacked up every other play.
[00:21:21] He's grimacing.
[00:21:22] He's holding on to stuff.
[00:21:24] He's limping.
[00:21:26] He'd be lucky to make it through the season.
[00:21:27] He says something quite poignant, and I agree with him.
[00:21:31] He said, tonight we were a 30-point offense, and the points don't reflect.
[00:21:37] And I'm like, he's right.
[00:21:38] The holding call on the touchdown was bogus.
[00:21:41] The one that they called on Tyron Smith.
[00:21:43] Braylon Edwards was in the – his foot was coming up off the one-yard line.
[00:21:49] Braylon Allen, my bad.
[00:21:50] You know, it's all his ads.
[00:21:51] You got to be messing up names.
[00:21:53] I'm going to say Mike Mazzula later.
[00:21:54] I wrote down Joe purposely, but we'll get to that.
[00:21:59] But he was in the end zone.
[00:22:01] Like, the hold – like, I get it's a penalty.
[00:22:03] You got to call it.
[00:22:04] But it's like, what are you watching?
[00:22:06] Because he's in the end zone when the flag comes out.
[00:22:09] Like, that guy was not getting in.
[00:22:10] The play was off the center and the right guard, and you call a hold on the left tackle.
[00:22:16] That guy wasn't going to be anywhere near him.
[00:22:17] He was already in the end zone.
[00:22:19] So that's the touchdown.
[00:22:20] You got the two missed field goals.
[00:22:21] Obviously, the interceptions.
[00:22:22] So, like you said, they had a 30-point offensive productive night.
[00:22:28] The problem is he probably looked at every driveway, didn't get points,
[00:22:34] and let it fester every time they didn't get points instead of getting up.
[00:22:38] So, like, you know what?
[00:22:39] Bet.
[00:22:40] We got 20 points.
[00:22:41] They got 23.
[00:22:42] Let's go get 27 and walk out here with a victory in front of our home crowd.
[00:22:47] He doesn't do that, and that's the problem.
[00:22:49] That's the problem that you're going to run into with the Jets.
[00:22:51] Leadership, right?
[00:22:52] Right?
[00:22:52] He has none.
[00:22:54] It's a track record of a lack of leadership.
[00:22:58] He doesn't galvanize the players.
[00:23:00] That's why he only wants people around him who agree with him and do what he wants.
[00:23:06] Yeah.
[00:23:07] And in addition to the offensive line, like, yeah, Devontae Adams might get you a few more points.
[00:23:13] You know, he might get you, you know, an extra field goal or something like that.
[00:23:18] But I just don't think that the Jets are, and Aaron Rodgers is, capable of being that type of offense consistently.
[00:23:25] You know?
[00:23:26] And, you know, because, I mean, you still got to get the running game off the ground.
[00:23:30] You know?
[00:23:30] It started out good early.
[00:23:32] All you got to do is get a ball to the running backs.
[00:23:34] It's like, that's, it's not like they have the people there.
[00:23:38] It's not like they're Dallas, and they don't have the horses, and they're just not using them.
[00:23:42] All they have to do is give the ball.
[00:23:45] Just give the ball to your two running backs.
[00:23:49] That's it.
[00:23:50] Yeah.
[00:23:50] They'll do the rest.
[00:23:51] You know, especially Braylon Allen, you know, that dude, like, the ultimate warrior or something out there.
[00:23:57] Dude can't even buy alcohol yet.
[00:23:59] Like, he looked like, what's that dude with the NBA player, Desmond Bain?
[00:24:02] You know what I'm saying?
[00:24:03] Like, he can't even pat himself on the thigh.
[00:24:08] You know what I mean?
[00:24:08] He can't spread the ball.
[00:24:09] He can't spread his back and tie his shoes.
[00:24:10] Yeah.
[00:24:11] He can't spread the ball to run somebody over.
[00:24:13] You know?
[00:24:13] And when they did, they scored.
[00:24:15] When they did that in the rest of the time, they scored.
[00:24:21] But in the AFC East, the Jets weren't the only team to make a move.
[00:24:28] You know, their rival that they played on Monday night, the Buffalo Bills went out and got a receiver.
[00:24:35] And, you know, the thing that caught me about the trade, this was what caught me about it.
[00:24:39] So, Devontae Adams making $11 million or so.
[00:24:43] You know, Amari Cooper making $800,000 or so, you know, as far as what they're getting this season from those teams.
[00:24:50] And they went, both went for a third-round pick.
[00:24:54] And Amari Cooper, and I don't know if it's the Cleveland thing, outside of that game last year where he broke the Browns in single game record with Joe Flacco, by the way.
[00:25:04] You know, Amari Cooper hasn't been good for two or three years now.
[00:25:08] You know what I mean?
[00:25:09] But I do like the pickup for Buffalo because he's still better than anybody else they got on their roster.
[00:25:15] And to prove that, they went and cut MVS.
[00:25:19] Yeah, they – I think Buffalo did a great deal – got a great deal out of that.
[00:25:24] Amari Cooper, at a minimum, is a number one guy.
[00:25:28] He knows how to be the number one wide receiver.
[00:25:30] He might be the best route runner in the league or at least in the top, you know, six or seven.
[00:25:34] And everybody else gets to fill their role.
[00:25:37] And I think he will be better for Keon Coleman than Devontae Adams is for Garrett Wilson.
[00:25:43] I think this narrative that's being spun is that Devontae Adams is going to come in and tell Garrett Wilson everything that Aaron wants him to do.
[00:25:51] And Garrett's like, I don't give a shit about Aaron.
[00:25:53] I was here first getting the ball.
[00:25:55] Zach Wilson.
[00:25:56] I was the offensive rookie of the year.
[00:25:59] I'm like – you know, I've been to shit.
[00:26:01] You're not even a fart type shit.
[00:26:02] Like, that's probably what he's thinking.
[00:26:04] I think Keon Coleman is going to really latch on to the relationship that Amari Cooper and Josh Allen built.
[00:26:12] I think Keon Coleman is going to look at it as, okay, this is going to really benefit me.
[00:26:16] I look at Garrett Wilson coming in like, yo, so you're going to bring your old bitch back?
[00:26:21] You know what I'm saying?
[00:26:22] Like, so now it's supposed to be the side chick again.
[00:26:24] I'm supposed to go stand out there.
[00:26:26] You know what I mean?
[00:26:27] So it's like – but funny thing, Dallas got a fifth-round pick when they traded Amari Cooper three years ago.
[00:26:37] Got a fifth.
[00:26:38] And then he goes three years later, three years older from a terrible team for a third.
[00:26:43] I think Cleveland might have did Amari a favor because they know, like, listen, we stuck.
[00:26:49] We're going to save you.
[00:26:50] Yo, I don't even know why that popped in my head.
[00:26:54] Don't tell anybody.
[00:26:55] You know, I've never even heard an Ice Spice song.
[00:26:58] That's the only part I know.
[00:27:00] For the much part.
[00:27:01] I don't even know why it was because of Joe Budden, but I don't even know these chicks.
[00:27:06] Music.
[00:27:06] Music.
[00:27:07] But anyway, you know, but yeah, I think that, you know, Buffalo made – it's one of those low-risk, high-reward.
[00:27:17] You know, if it doesn't – I mean, you're not signing Amari Cooper because you're like,
[00:27:21] this dude is going to put us in the Super Bowl.
[00:27:22] You know, so with Devontae Adams, not saying that you're looking for Super Bowl or whatever,
[00:27:27] but, you know, this is Aaron Rodgers' guy.
[00:27:30] So there's a certain expectation of now our offense is about to hit the next level.
[00:27:34] Buffalo was already all right without Amari Cooper.
[00:27:37] So whatever he can give you is a cherry on top.
[00:27:40] The Jets are looking to go 4-4 or 5-5 in the red zone next week without a doubt.
[00:27:46] Like, that is something they're guaranteed expecting.
[00:27:50] Speaking of which –
[00:27:51] I think fans are probably expecting Garrett Wilson just to not be double-covered.
[00:27:55] You know what?
[00:27:57] If I'm a defensive coordinator, I'm still going to double-covered Garrett Wilson just so he gets frustrated when none of the balls comes his way.
[00:28:05] And when Aaron Rodgers gets sacked and he's not even looking his way, and they go to the sideline,
[00:28:10] and they're looking at the tablet, and it's Devontae, Garrett, and Aaron, and they need to be separated by Lazard.
[00:28:16] That's what I want to see happen.
[00:28:17] If I'm a defensive coordinator, I'm doubling Garrett Wilson all day long.
[00:28:21] And speaking of which, speaking of the Jets going 4-4 or 5-5 in the red zone,
[00:28:26] let's talk about the team that they're playing this weekend.
[00:28:29] Apparently, Justin Fields may not be the starter anymore.
[00:28:35] The locker room wants Justin Fields to start because I think people feel Russell Wilson is corny.
[00:28:42] Bunch of Richard Sherman.
[00:28:44] Russell Wilson is closer to our age, you and I,
[00:28:49] then probably most of the players in the locker room that have, like, a real impact on the field.
[00:28:55] You know, TJ.
[00:28:58] TJ Watts is almost in his own stratosphere.
[00:29:01] He's going to do what he does.
[00:29:02] But a lot of his other guys probably are really connected to Justin Fields.
[00:29:05] They saw how he essentially got run out of Chicago.
[00:29:09] They've seen him come to Pittsburgh, really work.
[00:29:12] Ten touchdowns, one interception, four and two record, 1,300 yards passing.
[00:29:18] And he has the ability to just be a playmaker.
[00:29:23] He's a cornball brother!
[00:29:26] Yeah, so, like, and I think that's – I think Mike Tomlin's doing Russell Wilson a solid
[00:29:33] and giving him the veteran respect as a guy that's been in the league for, you know,
[00:29:39] 10-plus years and giving him an opportunity.
[00:29:41] But when it boils down to it, a guy that hasn't played tough, quantifiable, actionable football
[00:29:51] in months versus a guy that's young and athletic and ready to go.
[00:29:58] Yeah, because he got benched, what, the last two or three games in Denver?
[00:30:02] And, you know –
[00:30:03] He got benched in Denver.
[00:30:04] Then he's been injured.
[00:30:05] I don't think he played – I think he was, like – he was dressed for preseason games
[00:30:09] where he wasn't going to play.
[00:30:10] So that was – so that's my question, right?
[00:30:13] Like, what was the point of training camp in preseason?
[00:30:16] So, you know, was Russell the starter?
[00:30:21] He got hurt.
[00:30:22] Russell was the starter.
[00:30:23] Right.
[00:30:23] Mike Tomlin's giving him an opportunity, and then by tomorrow,
[00:30:28] Justin Fields is going to be the starter.
[00:30:29] But now that you're 4-2, you know, and, you know, basically tied with the Ravens,
[00:30:35] you know, for first place, why make the change now?
[00:30:39] I don't think he's making a change.
[00:30:41] I think he's just giving them first-team reps because he –
[00:30:45] they probably promised him the starting role.
[00:30:51] Give them the reps just for them to say, hey, we're going to go with Justin.
[00:30:54] He gives us the best chance to win.
[00:30:56] So I expect that on either Friday or him not –
[00:30:59] either Tom is going to say it before the game
[00:31:01] or he's going to leave the Jets defensive coordinator slash head coach
[00:31:07] who, you know, in, you know, some kind of a limbo.
[00:31:13] So you got to prepare for both guys and then announce game-time decision
[00:31:18] when Justin Fields starts.
[00:31:19] Because from my mind, logically thinking,
[00:31:23] it doesn't make a lot of sense to start Russell.
[00:31:27] It does make sense to give him first-team reps simply because, Justin,
[00:31:31] you probably already cut the playbook in a third –
[00:31:34] probably like a third of the playbook you don't run.
[00:31:37] So you run those plays at practice,
[00:31:40] like all these other play-action rollouts,
[00:31:43] all the plays that Russell likes, the big moon shots and all that.
[00:31:46] You run those – you get – say you get 120 plays in practice,
[00:31:50] you give Russell 40 of those, and then you give Justin another 80.
[00:31:55] Do you think there's a possibility that we could see both of them?
[00:31:59] If they do start Russell, which I don't think,
[00:32:02] I can see second and eight a package for Justin Fields.
[00:32:07] Slash.
[00:32:08] The return of Slash.
[00:32:09] Yeah, because I know they were back in training camp.
[00:32:11] They had Fields returning kicks.
[00:32:14] They had little gadgets and had him lining up at receiver
[00:32:18] and all this kind of stuff.
[00:32:19] So we'll see.
[00:32:21] I'm interested to see it.
[00:32:22] Mike Tomlin, I think so far when he spoke to the media today,
[00:32:26] I think he handled it pretty well.
[00:32:29] He didn't really say a lot outside of Justin's been an asset to us.
[00:32:33] I do wonder, though, and it's too early,
[00:32:37] but I do wonder that if Justin Fields has a certain cap,
[00:32:43] like if there's a certain limit of this is how good we can be,
[00:32:47] because like you even just said it,
[00:32:49] we've cut up a third of our playbook probably.
[00:32:51] There's a lot of conservatism going on.
[00:32:54] We can't take a lot of chances.
[00:32:55] So I wonder if long-term Russell Wilson could be the better option.
[00:33:01] Now, coming into the season,
[00:33:02] I thought that Justin Fields should have been the starter
[00:33:04] just based off of who the offensive coordinator is,
[00:33:07] because Arthur Smith even tried to make Desmond Ritter Justin Fields
[00:33:12] when he was in Atlanta last year.
[00:33:14] So I thought Justin Fields would be the better option,
[00:33:19] but in my mind, obviously, to me,
[00:33:21] Russell Wilson is the better quarterback.
[00:33:24] So at some point there may be a day of reckoning
[00:33:28] where you have to make that decision.
[00:33:31] It's not like a Joe Flacco, Anthony Richardson situation
[00:33:35] where the gap is substantial.
[00:33:39] Justin Fields has proven that he can make winning plays
[00:33:42] with the defense that you had.
[00:33:45] If you needed to be in shootouts or if you had the weapons,
[00:33:49] I don't know if Pittsburgh has the weapons
[00:33:53] that Russell Wilson can take advantage of,
[00:33:57] because Pickens doesn't seem to be engaged.
[00:34:01] Yeah, I was going to ask,
[00:34:02] do you think that it's possible to trade him for another receiver?
[00:34:05] I doubt it.
[00:34:06] I don't think, because he hasn't really put anything on film
[00:34:09] that's like, oh, I can make that work.
[00:34:11] Like, for instance, I'll use, you know, Kyle Pitts' example.
[00:34:14] The narrative around Kyle Pitts is like,
[00:34:17] was he drafted too high?
[00:34:19] Is he good?
[00:34:19] When you look at him play, he never has a problem.
[00:34:23] There's no attitude.
[00:34:24] There's no antics on the field.
[00:34:26] I imagine I've seen him play for three or four years now.
[00:34:29] I don't recall like a 15-yard penalty
[00:34:32] or any kind of unsportsmanlike.
[00:34:34] So if I'm a team looking to make a move,
[00:34:38] I'll look at a guy like Kyle Pitts,
[00:34:40] a guy that doesn't cause problems,
[00:34:42] whereas Pickens just seems like he's a diva
[00:34:47] full of, like, seventh-round wide receiver production,
[00:34:51] like practice squad production.
[00:34:53] It's like, you can't beat both.
[00:34:54] Like, yeah, you're a talent,
[00:34:56] but even if you're going to be, you know,
[00:35:00] as demonstrative on the sidelines like T.O.,
[00:35:02] T.O. still will go out and catch 22 passes in a game.
[00:35:05] Right.
[00:35:06] You know, he'll catch the playoff scene route
[00:35:09] when he's getting hit by two guys.
[00:35:11] Like, he'll still do that.
[00:35:13] Like, Pickens doesn't have that on his resume.
[00:35:14] He just has all of the antics
[00:35:17] that come along with, you know, wide receivers.
[00:35:19] So I think they're kind of stuck with him,
[00:35:21] and I'm not sure if, like I said,
[00:35:23] I don't think Russell can take advantage of that.
[00:35:27] They're inept offensively,
[00:35:29] so you need Justin's legs.
[00:35:32] You're hoping that Russell's arm can make it work,
[00:35:34] but like I said, they'll go to practice.
[00:35:36] They'll get the first-team reps.
[00:35:37] They'll get all the moon ball shots,
[00:35:39] but then when it boils down to it,
[00:35:41] Arthur Smith is like, listen,
[00:35:43] I want to run these RPOs,
[00:35:46] and Russ is not going to run.
[00:35:48] It's just going to be a P.O.,
[00:35:51] which I just call a regular pass,
[00:35:52] because he's not going to tuck it and run.
[00:35:54] Right.
[00:35:55] So, you know, also around the league,
[00:35:57] you know, Minnesota made a trade for Cam Akers,
[00:36:00] bringing him back,
[00:36:01] even though he was on the roster last year.
[00:36:03] So does that mean that Aaron Jones' hip
[00:36:06] is a little worse for wear than we're being told,
[00:36:09] because he's been called week to week.
[00:36:11] But I wouldn't imagine you need to jump out the window,
[00:36:14] because you have Myles Gaskin,
[00:36:16] you know, who's been around the league,
[00:36:17] played for Miami for a few years on the roster.
[00:36:20] You know, you got Ty Chandler,
[00:36:22] who was kind of exciting last year
[00:36:25] in a backup role to Alex Madison.
[00:36:28] So I don't think you make a deal like that
[00:36:30] unless you don't believe in those backups,
[00:36:34] and Aaron Jones is more hurt
[00:36:36] than we're being led to believe.
[00:36:37] Well, I think Cam Akers playing in L.A.,
[00:36:41] similar style offense.
[00:36:43] I think they just figured you could just plug him in,
[00:36:46] and he could pick up.
[00:36:47] But you could have done that in offseason, too.
[00:36:49] But you probably look at the money.
[00:36:51] You look at the money,
[00:36:52] you look at the availability,
[00:36:52] you look at what you have,
[00:36:54] and then your team is playing.
[00:36:55] Would you rather just give up a pick?
[00:36:58] Like I said, I don't know if the picks...
[00:37:00] I don't believe the picks are as valuable
[00:37:02] as everyone thinks.
[00:37:03] Just think about it.
[00:37:04] You're a Commanders fan.
[00:37:05] Who'd you draft in the fourth round this year?
[00:37:07] We drafted a lineman.
[00:37:09] I don't know his name,
[00:37:10] but we drafted a lineman.
[00:37:11] Who'd you draft in the third round this year?
[00:37:12] In the third round, we got the...
[00:37:17] No, that was second round.
[00:37:18] We got Sennett.
[00:37:19] Exactly.
[00:37:19] I don't know.
[00:37:20] Exactly.
[00:37:20] Top of my head.
[00:37:21] We got Johnny V in the second round
[00:37:23] with the tight end.
[00:37:26] Oh, we got Luke McCaffrey in the fifth round?
[00:37:29] Yeah, I mean,
[00:37:30] but that's because his name is McCaffrey.
[00:37:33] It's because his name is Braun.
[00:37:35] Exactly.
[00:37:36] I mean, like,
[00:37:37] I get that he's drafted as valuable.
[00:37:39] These players are valuable,
[00:37:40] but it's like,
[00:37:41] I'm giving up the 126th pick.
[00:37:45] A guy that's been online...
[00:37:47] Hey, you know what?
[00:37:47] Years ago,
[00:37:48] you would have said,
[00:37:49] I'm giving up...
[00:37:50] Years ago,
[00:37:51] you would have said,
[00:37:51] I'm giving up Mr. Irrelevant,
[00:37:53] and look how that worked out.
[00:37:54] Yeah.
[00:37:55] He's doing great.
[00:37:57] They're 3-3,
[00:37:58] and they're about to pay him
[00:37:58] $62.5 million in six months.
[00:38:01] And they're going to beat Kansas City
[00:38:02] this weekend.
[00:38:03] Spoiler alert.
[00:38:04] Anyway, go ahead.
[00:38:06] Yeah, so,
[00:38:07] like,
[00:38:07] I like the moves.
[00:38:08] I think there's going to be more...
[00:38:09] Cleveland is in such a bind.
[00:38:13] I heard a pundit today,
[00:38:14] I believe it was like Alex Breer,
[00:38:16] he said something along the lines of like,
[00:38:17] hey,
[00:38:18] if they let Amari Cooper go,
[00:38:21] when they definitely need him,
[00:38:22] because their quarterback is playing terrible,
[00:38:24] are they selling?
[00:38:26] Do you call about Miles Garrett?
[00:38:28] Of course.
[00:38:29] Do you call about Denzel Ward?
[00:38:30] I know he has concussion problems.
[00:38:32] Like,
[00:38:32] do you make these phone calls?
[00:38:34] You know,
[00:38:35] in Joku,
[00:38:35] do you need a tight end?
[00:38:37] Of course.
[00:38:38] You know,
[00:38:38] so...
[00:38:38] Keep the tires,
[00:38:39] due diligence.
[00:38:40] You figure it out.
[00:38:41] Same thing with Vegas.
[00:38:43] Guys making business decisions.
[00:38:45] Do you call out and say,
[00:38:46] who made those decisions
[00:38:47] and how much business you're trying to do for them?
[00:38:49] Yeah.
[00:38:49] You know,
[00:38:50] so,
[00:38:51] it's just so many,
[00:38:52] so many,
[00:38:53] so many moves that can be made.
[00:38:56] I don't think we're going to get another splash.
[00:38:57] Like I sent a message to you last week saying,
[00:39:00] is DK happy in Seattle?
[00:39:02] I doubt that.
[00:39:03] That move is maybe.
[00:39:04] Is Jacksonville selling?
[00:39:05] You know,
[00:39:05] they just sent,
[00:39:06] you know,
[00:39:07] Roy Robertson Harris to Seattle.
[00:39:09] So,
[00:39:09] Seattle gets another,
[00:39:11] in time to play the Falcons,
[00:39:12] they get some defensive depth on their defensive line.
[00:39:15] So,
[00:39:15] are they,
[00:39:16] are they,
[00:39:17] you know,
[00:39:17] trying to stack the cover for the next coach?
[00:39:19] You got to look at teams that are probably going to fire their coach.
[00:39:22] And if you have a guy like Mike Vrabel,
[00:39:25] and he has a choice between the Jets right now and Jacksonville.
[00:39:31] Or Ohio State.
[00:39:33] We got,
[00:39:34] hey,
[00:39:35] we got Trevor Lawrence.
[00:39:37] Or you're like,
[00:39:38] oh,
[00:39:38] we got Ohio State money.
[00:39:39] Or we have prickly Aaron Rodgers and Adams.
[00:39:45] Hey,
[00:39:45] but down here in Jacksonville,
[00:39:46] we got a young quarterback.
[00:39:48] And we,
[00:39:49] we have like 10 or 11 picks in the next draft.
[00:39:52] I think,
[00:39:53] because right now coaches are able to pick their own team.
[00:39:56] They're not really being recruited.
[00:39:57] And like,
[00:39:58] no one's,
[00:39:58] especially these,
[00:39:59] these veteran guys.
[00:40:00] Yeah.
[00:40:00] I think Vrabel is going to be able to pick it.
[00:40:02] So,
[00:40:03] maybe Cleveland is out here.
[00:40:04] Like,
[00:40:04] listen,
[00:40:04] let's stack this.
[00:40:06] I don't know if anyone's want to take on Deshaun Watson and the,
[00:40:09] and the contract.
[00:40:10] No,
[00:40:10] y'all got to play that out.
[00:40:11] Y'all got to play that out.
[00:40:13] That's just,
[00:40:14] it was,
[00:40:14] it was an odd move,
[00:40:16] but yeah.
[00:40:18] Sorry.
[00:40:19] And then of course,
[00:40:20] you know,
[00:40:21] looking at college football,
[00:40:22] you know,
[00:40:23] where a lot of teams have reached the halfway point of their schedule.
[00:40:27] So it's time to start looking at the 12 team playoff.
[00:40:30] This here,
[00:40:30] first year of the 12 team playoff.
[00:40:32] So,
[00:40:33] you know,
[00:40:33] we're going to go around the nation,
[00:40:34] just talk about some teams that are still in contention.
[00:40:37] Who's going to make it.
[00:40:38] Who's not going to make it.
[00:40:39] Why or why not.
[00:40:40] So of course,
[00:40:41] we're going to start with the very best in the land.
[00:40:44] You know,
[00:40:45] the big tent.
[00:40:46] No,
[00:40:46] I'm just playing.
[00:40:46] We're going to start with the sec,
[00:40:49] even though the big 10 does have the current national champion,
[00:40:52] but we're going to start with the sec.
[00:40:55] So by my count,
[00:40:56] Mr.
[00:40:56] Logical.
[00:40:57] Let's hear it.
[00:40:58] You know,
[00:40:58] you got Texas,
[00:40:59] Georgia,
[00:41:01] Bama,
[00:41:02] Tennessee,
[00:41:04] LSU.
[00:41:06] And then you got A&M in Missouri as wild cards,
[00:41:10] you know,
[00:41:11] of being able to get into the playoffs.
[00:41:13] I mean,
[00:41:13] I had six or seven.
[00:41:15] That was,
[00:41:16] I don't know,
[00:41:17] but,
[00:41:17] but you know,
[00:41:18] but,
[00:41:18] you know,
[00:41:18] but taking it from the top.
[00:41:19] So Texas is bringing in Georgia this weekend.
[00:41:23] You know,
[00:41:24] when you look at Texas and this is not a preview,
[00:41:26] I'm just saying,
[00:41:27] when you look at Texas,
[00:41:29] I don't know if they've played anyone that can challenge them the way
[00:41:34] Georgia can offensively,
[00:41:36] you know,
[00:41:37] defensively,
[00:41:38] they did go to Michigan.
[00:41:39] So,
[00:41:40] you know,
[00:41:40] we saw Quinn yours perform.
[00:41:42] He's coming back from the injury.
[00:41:43] They put up 34 in the red river shootout.
[00:41:45] Like you told me they would,
[00:41:46] you know,
[00:41:47] and then,
[00:41:48] you know,
[00:41:48] but when you look at their defense and I'm not even a,
[00:41:52] big Carson Beck fan,
[00:41:54] but he did just break Georgia's record last week,
[00:41:57] you know?
[00:41:58] So Georgia should have a chance to win this game,
[00:42:03] but let's just say shits and giggles,
[00:42:06] you know,
[00:42:06] let's say Georgia does win this game.
[00:42:10] You know,
[00:42:11] you look at the rest of Texas's schedule,
[00:42:14] Georgia wins this game.
[00:42:15] They're getting four teams in the,
[00:42:16] out of the 12,
[00:42:17] maybe hold on.
[00:42:18] We'll get there.
[00:42:19] We'll get there.
[00:42:19] We'll get there.
[00:42:21] So,
[00:42:21] so Texas closes the season at Texas A&M.
[00:42:25] And then somewhere in that window,
[00:42:28] they got lucky enough to not play Bama or LSU,
[00:42:32] but they do go to Vietnam.
[00:42:34] And I warned everybody about Vietnam two weeks ago when Tennessee went down
[00:42:38] there.
[00:42:39] And Sam Pittman,
[00:42:41] the head coach of Arkansas warned the country that Arkansas fans rather see
[00:42:46] Texas lose than see Arkansas win.
[00:42:49] The last time Texas went to Vietnam,
[00:42:52] they lost check my record.
[00:42:54] All I do is win.
[00:42:55] It was him,
[00:42:56] right?
[00:42:57] I like that.
[00:42:58] Yeah.
[00:42:58] The last time Texas went to Vietnam,
[00:43:01] they walked out 19 point losers.
[00:43:03] So if Texas beats Georgia this weekend,
[00:43:07] I think that pretty much guarantees they'll make the playoff.
[00:43:11] I'm here for the chaos.
[00:43:13] So I want,
[00:43:15] I don't want,
[00:43:16] I just want chaos.
[00:43:17] So I think chaos would be Georgia beating Texas.
[00:43:21] Uh-huh.
[00:43:22] And just another top penciled in SEC team to the 12 team playoff,
[00:43:30] because I'm pretty sure it was probably etched that one of these SEC
[00:43:36] schools is going to come through undefeated,
[00:43:38] either Texas,
[00:43:39] Bama or Georgia somehow was going to work out where they were undefeated.
[00:43:42] We're going to get Bama in there.
[00:43:45] We're going to get Georgia in.
[00:43:47] And then one more for sure.
[00:43:50] So I think we're still going to get four.
[00:43:52] I like the idea of Texas being Georgia that way at the end of the year,
[00:43:56] they're doing all these,
[00:43:57] like,
[00:43:58] you know,
[00:43:58] like you say,
[00:43:59] your transitive properties,
[00:44:00] you know,
[00:44:00] just moving all these things around and doing the beautiful mind thing on
[00:44:03] the board.
[00:44:04] I'm like,
[00:44:04] cut it out.
[00:44:05] This is like Georgia,
[00:44:06] right?
[00:44:07] Let's see.
[00:44:07] Yeah.
[00:44:08] Let's talk about Georgia,
[00:44:09] right?
[00:44:09] Nick Saban's gone.
[00:44:11] A lot of people assumed.
[00:44:13] All right.
[00:44:14] We got a new powerhouse in college football.
[00:44:16] Look what they've been doing the last few years.
[00:44:18] But then we,
[00:44:19] we told everybody to look at the schedule because they went to Tuscaloosa
[00:44:25] already.
[00:44:26] They're going to Austin this weekend.
[00:44:28] They got a trip down to Oxford,
[00:44:30] Mississippi coming up in a few weeks.
[00:44:31] They got to play Tennessee still.
[00:44:33] And Oh,
[00:44:34] by the way,
[00:44:35] Georgia tech is not a slouch this year.
[00:44:38] So Georgia,
[00:44:40] even with a loss,
[00:44:41] I don't necessarily think they're eliminated from playoff contention.
[00:44:45] With two losses.
[00:44:46] Yeah,
[00:44:47] but it would help them to win this week.
[00:44:50] Well,
[00:44:51] that's going to get into the whole semantics of,
[00:44:53] would you rather have this hypothetically?
[00:44:55] A two loss Georgia team as fourth place in the SEC or a two loss Iowa team.
[00:45:04] That's fourth in the big team.
[00:45:06] You know,
[00:45:06] those,
[00:45:07] those,
[00:45:07] those,
[00:45:08] those antiquated arguments that we make every single year when they basically say,
[00:45:12] Hey,
[00:45:12] we want to get this team in because we think they had a,
[00:45:15] and they played a great game against them.
[00:45:17] And they came back.
[00:45:18] They had the lead until this freshman sensation hooked up with Jalen,
[00:45:22] and they were for the touchdown.
[00:45:23] It's like,
[00:45:24] it's like,
[00:45:24] they're one tackle away from being blah,
[00:45:26] blah,
[00:45:26] blah,
[00:45:27] blah,
[00:45:27] blah.
[00:45:27] You know,
[00:45:27] they'll justify it.
[00:45:29] Yeah.
[00:45:30] We'll beat ourselves over the head.
[00:45:31] But when it boils down to these 12 teams,
[00:45:33] well,
[00:45:34] Georgia has good news though.
[00:45:35] All Georgia has to do is take care of their business,
[00:45:37] right?
[00:45:38] Because Bama went out here and lost the Vandy.
[00:45:41] so theoretically,
[00:45:42] I want the chaos.
[00:45:43] Yeah.
[00:45:44] So theoretically,
[00:45:45] if you lose the Vandy,
[00:45:47] you can get got against South Carolina,
[00:45:49] just almost got them.
[00:45:50] And all by the way,
[00:45:51] they go down to Rocky top this weekend.
[00:45:54] You know,
[00:45:55] Bama does Alabama had the ball for like less than 20 minutes.
[00:45:59] It's like somebody should be,
[00:46:03] I know Malachi Moore,
[00:46:04] we talked about it,
[00:46:04] you know,
[00:46:05] he was like flipping like,
[00:46:06] cause the defense was like someone on the staff has to be able to
[00:46:09] like rally.
[00:46:10] These guys are like,
[00:46:11] listen,
[00:46:12] we score every time we get the ball defense,
[00:46:15] just stay in your base.
[00:46:16] Three,
[00:46:16] three,
[00:46:16] five,
[00:46:17] make the tackle.
[00:46:18] And we'll get the ball back.
[00:46:19] We're going to score.
[00:46:20] Like,
[00:46:21] what y'all panicking for?
[00:46:22] Look at your helmets.
[00:46:24] See these jerseys.
[00:46:25] We have Bama.
[00:46:26] This is Bama.
[00:46:27] The problem with Bama offensively is that they're too reliant on two
[00:46:32] players.
[00:46:32] You know,
[00:46:33] like Jalen Milro has to play out of his mind.
[00:46:36] And a lot of these games.
[00:46:38] And then you just throw it up to the 17 year old.
[00:46:40] Just run the ball.
[00:46:41] Like it's so many,
[00:46:43] it's probably NFL scouts.
[00:46:46] That come to Bama's pro day.
[00:46:48] And they don't look at any of the skilled players.
[00:46:50] They just look at the linemen.
[00:46:51] Offensive and defensive.
[00:46:52] Well,
[00:46:52] that's the thing.
[00:46:53] Their lines have degraded.
[00:46:54] Like over the last couple of years of Saban's tenure,
[00:46:57] the offensive line was just getting worse and worse.
[00:47:00] And now we're at a point where.
[00:47:02] It's not that Bama line that you're thinking of.
[00:47:06] You know what I mean?
[00:47:06] Like.
[00:47:07] Got to run downhill.
[00:47:08] And I told you a couple of weeks ago.
[00:47:10] Remember,
[00:47:10] we talked about this.
[00:47:11] I said,
[00:47:12] Hey,
[00:47:12] when they played USF.
[00:47:15] And that game was 14 to 13 in the fourth quarter.
[00:47:18] The only problem was USF didn't have a quarterback.
[00:47:22] That could take advantage of their secondary.
[00:47:24] And we're going to see that commonly throughout these SEC teams that we're
[00:47:27] going to talk about.
[00:47:28] So they went to Wisconsin,
[00:47:31] Tyler Van Dyke.
[00:47:32] We talked about him,
[00:47:32] but then he got hurt.
[00:47:34] Backup quarterback.
[00:47:35] Then Vandy got him.
[00:47:37] South Carolina doesn't have the quarterback to do it,
[00:47:40] but South Carolina was able to go toe to toe with them in the trenches.
[00:47:44] And now you got to go deal with Nico.
[00:47:46] Who everybody crowned.
[00:47:48] You get to the SEC title game.
[00:47:50] Maybe you'll meet Quinn Ewers.
[00:47:52] You still got to go play Gert Nussmeyer at Tiger stadium.
[00:47:56] Probably at night where Brian Kelly hasn't lost as the LSU head coach.
[00:48:00] So Bama's by no mean out of the woods.
[00:48:03] And my level of concern is here.
[00:48:07] I'm not sure Alabama gets out of this weekend.
[00:48:10] I think they make it through 10 and two.
[00:48:12] They don't play the championship game.
[00:48:15] Whatever the fall out of the championship game is,
[00:48:18] they still get Bama in.
[00:48:19] You just got to get to 10 and two.
[00:48:21] Yeah,
[00:48:21] they do.
[00:48:23] Don't play the championship game because you get to 10 and two.
[00:48:28] And whatever reason the math works out,
[00:48:30] we play the championship game because some other teams lost.
[00:48:33] And now you're 10 and three.
[00:48:34] Get to 10 and two.
[00:48:36] And your Bama.
[00:48:37] They'll get you in at 11.
[00:48:38] You're getting in off a name alone.
[00:48:40] Probably.
[00:48:40] Yeah.
[00:48:41] And that's where Tennessee.
[00:48:43] Easy game.
[00:48:44] The first week.
[00:48:45] And that's where Tennessee comes in.
[00:48:47] You know,
[00:48:48] long gone.
[00:48:49] It's Chattanooga and Kent state.
[00:48:51] This is real football now.
[00:48:54] And I brought this up in our season preview where Tennessee is going to be a trendy pick of if somebody that's not in the top 10 or whatever to start the season is going to make the playoff.
[00:49:05] Who will it be?
[00:49:06] Everyone believes in Nico.
[00:49:08] And we saw, you know, they went down to Arkansas, put up 14 points and lost.
[00:49:12] They got held scoreless for the second straight week against Florida this past week.
[00:49:18] There was the Arkansas game and the Florida game.
[00:49:20] They went scoreless in the first half.
[00:49:22] They went to overtime with this Florida team.
[00:49:26] So Tennessee, the good thing for them is that this game against Alabama is at home.
[00:49:31] But the problem for Tennessee is not only do you have Bama at home, but you play Georgia as well.
[00:49:38] You're probably not going to beat both of them.
[00:49:42] Now, you know, which one could you beat?
[00:49:45] Just depends.
[00:49:46] Right.
[00:49:46] We're talking about secondaries.
[00:49:47] Both of them.
[00:49:48] Their secondaries don't look how we're used to them looking.
[00:49:52] So even if Tennessee survives this weekend against Bama.
[00:49:56] Can they survive Georgia as well?
[00:49:58] And oh, by the way, you close your season at the Vanderbilt team, which is the same stadium that Alabama just lost in.
[00:50:06] It's going to be tough.
[00:50:08] Like I said, SEC football just means more.
[00:50:10] They always start off marketing.
[00:50:12] It works.
[00:50:13] They start off pretty high in the preseason rankings.
[00:50:16] They do have the talent.
[00:50:18] So it's.
[00:50:20] It's not like their talent is being like bloviated.
[00:50:22] It's a real it's a real talented group.
[00:50:24] Every team has top tier talent.
[00:50:27] It just comes down to.
[00:50:29] Are you weird?
[00:50:31] Are we going to justify we be in the fans of the committee and just justify 10 into nine and three SEC schools over, you know, 11 and one army.
[00:50:45] 10 into Notre Dame, you know, like is that's that's the conversation.
[00:50:49] No one ever says the SEC is an equality.
[00:50:53] Conference is just that everybody can't get in and the expectations and the arguments are always pro.
[00:51:00] So.
[00:51:01] More of them getting in than the norm, like it would when it was four teams, I don't know how many years SEC almost guaranteed themselves to.
[00:51:09] So if you made the SEC championship game that you were going to get in no matter when or lose.
[00:51:15] So it's like you just felt it felt like the it was the SEC championship was for not.
[00:51:20] He's like you're you're getting in no matter what.
[00:51:23] You think Kirby Smart would have got in more trouble if he would have pushed Quinn yours or Arch?
[00:51:29] I think what he did was that he was going to try to get to his coach.
[00:51:35] He was trying to get to his coach.
[00:51:37] So he let the coach that dude just was in the way.
[00:51:39] George is a bunch of sore losers is what it is.
[00:51:42] The last few years, they've been able to run roughshod over college football.
[00:51:46] And now that they're getting some pushback, they don't know how to handle it.
[00:51:50] So regardless of who he was trying to get to.
[00:51:53] I just imagine if that was a player that would have pushed a coach and what that would have turned into.
[00:51:58] So I'm not saying I'm not saying it.
[00:52:00] That's what I mean.
[00:52:01] I'm not saying that he needs to be fired.
[00:52:03] I'm not, you know, or anything like that.
[00:52:05] But I'm just saying it needs to be a bigger deal.
[00:52:08] But LSU, I have no idea what LSU is.
[00:52:10] The only thing I know about LSU is that their defense isn't very good.
[00:52:15] Their best defensive player is out for the season.
[00:52:17] But their defense has played better since that best defensive player is out for the year.
[00:52:23] You know, they beat Ole Miss this past weekend overtime.
[00:52:26] Kyron Lacey with the push off got away with it.
[00:52:28] DeAndre Hopkins and Michael Irvin style.
[00:52:31] You know, looking at them, they get Bama the first week of November.
[00:52:34] They get Bama at home.
[00:52:35] I believe it's November 9th.
[00:52:37] They get Alabama at home.
[00:52:39] They come to A&M on October 26th.
[00:52:43] So, you know, it's not necessarily the hardest road to hoe.
[00:52:47] It would have helped if they would have beat USC back in week one or back in week zero.
[00:52:52] So, I don't know what to do with LSU.
[00:52:55] Like, I like their quarterback.
[00:52:57] I like Kyron Lacey when he's not simulating shooting people.
[00:53:01] But outside of that...
[00:53:02] Yo, y'all got to stop that.
[00:53:04] I don't know why guys keep doing it every week.
[00:53:07] Every week.
[00:53:08] Because everybody's a top of that.
[00:53:09] Be original.
[00:53:11] Everybody's getting flagged.
[00:53:12] Every single person's getting flagged.
[00:53:14] None of them been missed.
[00:53:16] Every single person who's done any kind of gunner-related celebration has gotten flagged.
[00:53:21] Especially the ones that get me.
[00:53:23] So, it's already weird.
[00:53:25] Well, it's already weird when you do it with the touchdown and the first down.
[00:53:28] Like, do your thing, though.
[00:53:30] But when you sack the quarterback and you're standing over the quarterback, that's kind of weird.
[00:53:35] Yo, Drake London got one when they end up...
[00:53:38] Was that the Eagle game?
[00:53:39] Yeah, it ended up kicking a 48-yard extra point.
[00:53:42] Yeah.
[00:53:42] Because he shot it in the air.
[00:53:44] So, that was week two in the NFL.
[00:53:47] Monday Night Football, yeah.
[00:53:48] Then I saw a player.
[00:53:50] He did it with the football after he caught a touchdown.
[00:53:54] A guy did it to the quarterback.
[00:53:55] I mean, it's like everyone's seeing these penalties.
[00:53:58] I'm seeing them on social media feeds.
[00:54:02] It's not like I'm seeing them live in-game and they're not spreading through social media.
[00:54:05] I'm seeing them on social media feeds.
[00:54:08] So, why are you seeing it if they're doing it?
[00:54:10] Then I saw the guy lift his shirt up like he was showing a gun.
[00:54:14] Anything related to a gun besides shotgun?
[00:54:18] Shotgun formation.
[00:54:20] That's it.
[00:54:21] That's the best you can do.
[00:54:23] Everything else, just leave it alone.
[00:54:24] So, the SEC said, I don't know how good Missouri is going to be this year.
[00:54:28] They might be pretty good.
[00:54:30] But we're going to make sure that they don't make the playoff.
[00:54:32] Because we're going to make them play Auburn, Alabama, and Oklahoma back to back to back.
[00:54:37] You know?
[00:54:38] So, I got them on upset alert.
[00:54:40] Spoiler alert.
[00:54:41] This week against Auburn.
[00:54:43] You know, they go to Tuscaloosa next week.
[00:54:45] But South Carolina just showed us.
[00:54:47] Tuscaloosa might not be as tough as we think it is this year.
[00:54:50] So, Missouri, you know, the one thing they have going for them, they got to kill UMass last week.
[00:54:57] So, you know, coming off of that A&M loss, maybe they got a set of confidence.
[00:55:01] They got some confidence back.
[00:55:03] And they're ready to play.
[00:55:04] The only thing they have to play that they know are going to work is, you know, you break them out the following week.
[00:55:10] You know?
[00:55:11] And that's where, you know, we go back to A&M.
[00:55:14] The team that just wrecked Missouri.
[00:55:16] They get LSU coming to the crib on the 26th next Saturday.
[00:55:21] You know?
[00:55:21] They get Texas to close the season.
[00:55:23] So, it's all in A&M's hands.
[00:55:26] You know?
[00:55:26] Their only loss was to Notre Dame.
[00:55:28] Nobody's going to kill you for that.
[00:55:30] Whereas, like, when you look at LSU comparatively, they lost to USC who just lost their third game.
[00:55:36] One of those games was to Minnesota.
[00:55:39] So, you know, one of those games was to a Michigan team that threw for just over 30 yards.
[00:55:45] It's awful.
[00:55:47] So, like, that LSU loss doesn't look as great.
[00:55:51] Whereas, if Notre Dame keeps winning, then, you know, A&M gets benefit from that.
[00:55:58] We lost to this team in week one that went 11-1.
[00:56:05] So, like, that's what the SEC does.
[00:56:07] It's not even always about who you beat.
[00:56:10] It's about the good loss.
[00:56:12] So, if A&M, like I said, they haven't played Texas since 2009-2010.
[00:56:17] So, that place is – Calfield is going to be rocking Thanksgiving weekend.
[00:56:22] You know?
[00:56:22] Yeah.
[00:56:23] You know?
[00:56:23] But A&M just has to make it to that point.
[00:56:26] You know?
[00:56:26] They got their quarterback back, Connor Wegman.
[00:56:29] He was out.
[00:56:30] And you're exactly right.
[00:56:31] You know?
[00:56:32] That's what this playoff is.
[00:56:33] But the Big Ten is coming, too.
[00:56:35] They want four teams as well.
[00:56:36] And I suspect –
[00:56:37] And the committee is going to make it happen.
[00:56:39] Yeah, and I suspect –
[00:56:40] Each one is getting three off the rip.
[00:56:42] So, six spots are already going.
[00:56:43] Right.
[00:56:44] I'm going to copy Mr. Logical real quick since everybody else likes to do it.
[00:56:47] Don't piss in my pocket and tell me it's raining.
[00:56:50] From the standpoint –
[00:56:51] Max, I'm sitting on my line.
[00:56:53] You know, from the standpoint of if the Big Ten and SEC don't get the teams that they –
[00:56:59] the number of teams that they think they should get, watch how quickly this playoff format changes in 2026 when it's allowed to be changed.
[00:57:08] So, that's the SEC, you know.
[00:57:11] And one quick note that I wanted to throw out there, you know, let me – I got to read this because I ain't going to remember all this.
[00:57:16] But here we go.
[00:57:17] So, Lane Kiffin blew the season last week at LSU because he had his eyes on Gainesville.
[00:57:24] So, for the last couple of weeks, he's been posting pics of Gators before games and all this kind of stuff because, you know, the rumors of him going to Florida.
[00:57:32] It's all hilarious when you're winning.
[00:57:34] But when you lose, you look like a damn fool.
[00:57:37] Now, November 23rd is going to be really interesting because Ole Miss goes to the swamp that day.
[00:57:43] So, if Billy Napier gets relieved of his duties before that game, the whole week down in Gainesville is going to be,
[00:57:51] are you coming here?
[00:57:53] Are you coming here?
[00:57:53] Are you coming here?
[00:57:55] Now, the good news for Ole Miss, though, I didn't include them in my teams that are still alive for the playoffs.
[00:58:00] But they are.
[00:58:02] You know, they still got Oklahoma.
[00:58:04] They still get Georgia coming in.
[00:58:06] They have opportunity.
[00:58:08] They're on the outside.
[00:58:09] They need a lot of help.
[00:58:10] Yeah, they definitely need a lot of help.
[00:58:13] They definitely need a lot of help.
[00:58:15] You know, I'm not familiar with – oh, yeah, yeah.
[00:58:18] That was pretty flagrant.
[00:58:20] You know what I'm saying?
[00:58:20] And he didn't have to treat Cocktober like that.
[00:58:24] You know what I'm saying?
[00:58:25] Cock's just trying to fly.
[00:58:26] You know what I'm saying?
[00:58:27] So, taking it over to the ACC.
[00:58:30] Pause.
[00:58:31] You know, Notre Dame, you know, I'm including them in the ACC.
[00:58:35] You know, they're a de facto – they play five ACC teams every year.
[00:58:40] So, Notre Dame got the big win at A&M.
[00:58:45] But they went and lost to Northern Illinois.
[00:58:50] So, you would argue, does a team that lost to Northern Illinois, who lost to NC State and Buffalo, deserve to be in this here playoff?
[00:59:01] Most of you might say no.
[00:59:03] So, the good news for Notre Dame is that Army and Navy are having an unprecedented year this year where they're both in the top 20 or where they're both undefeated right now.
[00:59:14] They happen to play both of them.
[00:59:17] USC, we just talked about their win over LSU.
[00:59:20] They closed the season at USC.
[00:59:22] Florida State's not doing Notre Dame any favors for the schedule.
[00:59:26] Florida State plays Georgia Tech this weekend down in Atlanta.
[00:59:30] Atlanta.
[00:59:32] So, there you go.
[00:59:33] You know, Georgia left Georgia.
[00:59:36] They went and played at Bama.
[00:59:37] They played at Bama.
[00:59:38] But, you know, still the state of Georgia.
[00:59:43] Yeah, West Georgia.
[00:59:44] No, Auburn is like West – that's what they call Auburn, the University of West Georgia.
[00:59:49] But, you know, Notre Dame, you know, they lost their best defensive player, Benjamin Morrison, who I wanted the commanders to draft.
[00:59:56] He's out for the season.
[00:59:57] And, you know, so Marcus Freeman does have the defense humming.
[01:00:03] So, this is where Notre Dame not having a conference championship game might hurt them.
[01:00:09] But, on that same note, this is where Notre Dame being named Notre Dame may help them.
[01:00:17] Because if Georgia Tech had the same resume and they were touting victories over Army and Navy no matter how good Army and Navy are,
[01:00:24] and they lost the North to Illinois, we're telling them get the hell up out of here.
[01:00:30] You know, so, you know, that's just – it just is what it is.
[01:00:34] You know, and then you got Miami, the Hurricanes, who the last couple of weeks have been playing with fate.
[01:00:40] You remember the Friday night against Virginia Tech?
[01:00:42] Was it a touchdown?
[01:00:43] Was it not a touchdown?
[01:00:44] I don't think it was a touchdown, but still.
[01:00:46] If you're going to look that long, it was a touchdown.
[01:00:48] You know, I mean, but it's one of those things where you made the call on the field and you got to have inconclusive evidence.
[01:00:54] You didn't state that you had inconclusive evidence.
[01:00:57] So, therefore, Virginia Tech should have won that game going by the letter of the law.
[01:01:02] So, then, you know, you come back and then you go down four possessions to Cal and have to come back and win a game at 2 in the morning with Michael Irvin doggy style.
[01:01:12] Well, you know, you go to Louisville this week.
[01:01:16] You know, you play Florida State, but outside of rivalry, I guess you're okay.
[01:01:21] You know, so, really, Miami is probably on cruise control until the ACC title game.
[01:01:27] They do play Syracuse to close the season.
[01:01:30] You know, Clemson.
[01:01:32] You know, Dabo Sweeney saying, hey, I don't need the transfer portal.
[01:01:38] So, it's so far, you know, so far, you know.
[01:01:42] It's working out.
[01:01:43] It's working out, but the schedule is going to get tougher because they do go to Blacksburg.
[01:01:49] You know, they do.
[01:01:51] But didn't Vandy show that Blackburg is not a –
[01:01:54] No, that was at Vandy.
[01:01:55] But it's at Vandy, but it's like, yeah.
[01:01:58] Hey, but at the same token, like we just said, Virginia Tech took Miami to the last play of the game.
[01:02:05] Stop trying to do this transitive property thing.
[01:02:07] It doesn't work.
[01:02:09] I am a key transitive property.
[01:02:11] It doesn't work.
[01:02:13] You know, but, you know, Clemson started out the season with a 31-point loss to Georgia.
[01:02:22] You know, obviously, we've learned that Georgia might not be what we thought they were after that game.
[01:02:30] So, you know, so I don't know how good Clemson is if you're just playing the game of who have they beat.
[01:02:37] You know, they beat Florida State, worst FSU team of my lifetime.
[01:02:41] You know, literally.
[01:02:43] That's not even hyperbole.
[01:02:45] You know, they beat NC State, who was starting a freshman quarterback for the first time.
[01:02:50] You know, and that was at home.
[01:02:52] They beat Appalachian State.
[01:02:55] So, you know, there's not a lot of meat on that bone, so to speak.
[01:02:59] You know, pause and all that.
[01:03:01] So, you know, so what does Clemson bring to the table?
[01:03:04] You know, we'll find out, I guess, over the course of the next few weeks.
[01:03:08] I guess I just feel like when we went to a 12-team playoff, you were going to try to pack as many teams in from the most popular conferences as we could.
[01:03:23] As long as they stay within a reasonable win-loss ratio, 10-2, even 9-3, they're going to squeeze them in there.
[01:03:33] Right.
[01:03:34] I like Miami.
[01:03:35] Like I said, that Virginia Tech call, it was tough.
[01:03:39] I think calling it a touchdown on the field and saying you need conclusive evidence, video evidence to change it.
[01:03:46] Or you can just look at it like, you know what?
[01:03:47] I think we might have got it wrong.
[01:03:49] It was close.
[01:03:51] It wasn't like the Lazard Hail Mary where he was like laying on the ground with the ball and they ripped it out when he was on the ground.
[01:03:58] That's where you have to say it.
[01:04:00] That's why words matter because usually they'll say after, you know, video review or whatever, we have decided or X, Y, Z.
[01:04:10] You know, you didn't say any of that.
[01:04:12] So that's why I think there was confusion because, you know, each referee crew is different.
[01:04:17] But a lot of times we get that word of it's confirmed or it stands.
[01:04:23] You know, where it stands is I couldn't overturn it.
[01:04:27] You know what I mean?
[01:04:28] Confirmed is this was the right call all along.
[01:04:31] So it's all about how you present the argument in the first place.
[01:04:34] Yeah.
[01:04:34] Like I said, I didn't think it was a catch just because.
[01:04:37] It wasn't a catch.
[01:04:38] The ball came out.
[01:04:40] It wasn't even close.
[01:04:42] You know, you got SMU who I didn't think was going to do well this year as far as making it to the ACC title game just because coming from a G5 to a power conference.
[01:04:52] I thought their lines would not be up to par.
[01:04:55] They lost to BYU.
[01:04:57] That's their only loss so far.
[01:04:59] You know, in the BYU, as they call the quarterback there, you know, and but but that was before they went to Kevin Jennings at quarterback full time.
[01:05:09] Since then, they beat Florida State by 26 points.
[01:05:13] You know, there they won.
[01:05:14] I was there in person.
[01:05:15] Shout out to Q who still ain't found, you know, and you know, they won at Louisville last week.
[01:05:21] So SMU is for real.
[01:05:23] You know, Syracuse is still alive.
[01:05:25] Just one at UNLV.
[01:05:27] Pitt still undefeated, you know, for the first six and oh for the first time since Dan Marino.
[01:05:31] And then I'm not counting Duke and I'll see you Friday night, Blue Devils.
[01:05:37] You know, so taking it to the Big Ten real quick, you know, Oregon, they came off of struggling with Boise and Idaho.
[01:05:43] You know, and they said, hey, as long as we're not playing a team from Idaho, we will be our true selves.
[01:05:49] And they went out and they beat Ohio State this weekend.
[01:05:53] So Oregon's playing with house money.
[01:05:54] I was looking at their schedule.
[01:05:56] You know, they do have Illinois coming in next week.
[01:05:58] Luke Altmyer, you know, but outside of that, the only thing staring them in the face from going undefeated is at Michigan and not because Michigan's any good just because it's at the big house.
[01:06:09] And then the rivalry game with Washington at the end of the year.
[01:06:13] But for my money, I've got Oregon going 12 and oh, going to the Big Ten title game, losing the rematch.
[01:06:20] And they'll both get in.
[01:06:22] And they'll both get in.
[01:06:23] But with that being said, what about Penn State?
[01:06:26] Now, this is where controlling your destiny comes into play because Penn State went out to Los Angeles this past weekend, beat Trojanjeles.
[01:06:36] They get a bye week.
[01:06:37] They go to Camp Randall next week.
[01:06:41] Then they come back home for the Buckeyes.
[01:06:45] That's where the season lies as far as the Big Ten championship game.
[01:06:50] And that's the thing.
[01:06:51] You can lose Ohio State not playing the Big Ten championship, went out and just be sitting there very similar to like a 10 and 2 Alabama.
[01:07:03] I think an 11 and 1 Penn State not in the Big Ten championship game.
[01:07:08] They go ahead and write their ticket.
[01:07:10] You're right.
[01:07:11] And this is one of those problems that I have with.
[01:07:14] Just go to just handle your business.
[01:07:15] Which game are you talking about, Residente?
[01:07:17] And this is one of the ones where I get frustrated because Ohio State has to play Michigan, Oregon, at Oregon, at Penn State.
[01:07:30] You know what I mean?
[01:07:31] They get Nebraska.
[01:07:34] Penn State doesn't play Michigan.
[01:07:36] Penn State doesn't play Nebraska.
[01:07:37] Penn State doesn't play Oregon.
[01:07:38] And it's going to be a year where Ohio State plays everyone else.
[01:07:43] And I ain't going to like it.
[01:07:44] That's all I'm saying is I don't like it.
[01:07:46] But Penn State does get Washington, too.
[01:07:49] And Washington hasn't really been like the – it's not they're bringing back the national championship team to play against Penn State.
[01:07:55] So, Penn State, you finish your season now.
[01:07:57] You handle business of Camp Randall.
[01:07:59] And if you lose Ohio State, you lose Ohio State.
[01:08:02] But I think that might be in your favor.
[01:08:04] I mean, honestly, if you get to the Big Ten championship game, you're still going to get in.
[01:08:07] But just sitting back, you finish out your season 11-1.
[01:08:12] You don't have to play an extra game.
[01:08:15] Yeah, you probably want the title of Big Ten champ.
[01:08:17] But it's like I'm going to get in the big tournament without even playing in this ancillary tournament because it kind of takes some of the flareaways.
[01:08:24] Like, okay, we don't need this to get on to the next round.
[01:08:28] Yeah, let's go ahead.
[01:08:29] Keep our players healthy.
[01:08:31] You know what I want?
[01:08:32] You talked about chaos, right?
[01:08:35] I'm listening.
[01:08:36] If Ryan Day lose to Michigan this year.
[01:08:41] That's not going to be like it.
[01:08:42] It's going to just be there.
[01:08:43] No, I'm talking about you want to see a meltdown of epic proportions.
[01:08:48] But they still will get in.
[01:08:49] Ohio State will still get in, though.
[01:08:51] They'll just get in at 11.
[01:08:53] You know, they'll be 10-2 Ohio State at 11.
[01:08:55] But if they do lose to Michigan, I might drive a U-Haul up to Columbus myself because he's going to need that.
[01:09:02] You know, Michigan, they are not out of the playoff just yet.
[01:09:06] You know, all they got to do is win out.
[01:09:08] You know, we'll see if they start Jack Tuttle this weekend.
[01:09:10] They're going to Champaign to play Illinois.
[01:09:13] They lose that game.
[01:09:15] They're out.
[01:09:16] You know, like I said, they got Oregon coming in.
[01:09:18] They got Ohio State at Ohio State.
[01:09:21] So Michigan's cutting it close.
[01:09:23] But the game of all games that I never thought I would say might be an elimination game this weekend.
[01:09:31] Nebraska at Indiana, or as they call themselves now, Windiana.
[01:09:38] Oh, that's the coach that said it.
[01:09:40] Yeah.
[01:09:40] Talk to my guy, Cignetti.
[01:09:42] Coach Cignetti, you know, he's out here.
[01:09:45] You know, he came from James Madison.
[01:09:46] They were one of my surprise teams this year that I said had a chance to go 9-3 or 8-4.
[01:09:51] Here they are undefeated.
[01:09:53] They play Nebraska at home this weekend.
[01:09:55] Upset alert.
[01:09:56] You know, and then, of course, you know, they get Michigan later in the season.
[01:10:00] So, and they get Ohio State.
[01:10:02] So, it's not out of the woods.
[01:10:04] They got to win this game, you know, because they'll probably lose at least one of those two.
[01:10:08] And then, you know, you've got Nebraska who's got Ohio State coming up.
[01:10:11] So, the loser of this game is going to be in a position.
[01:10:15] So, you know, the winner needs to be.
[01:10:17] Not a favorable one either.
[01:10:18] Yeah, and Illinois goes to Autzen to play Oregon next week.
[01:10:21] So, even if they beat Michigan, they get a chance next week.
[01:10:24] They get the chance of all chances next week.
[01:10:26] You know, I know we were big on Iowa, but, you know, making the playoff.
[01:10:30] But I think that ship might have sailed.
[01:10:32] They still can't play against.
[01:10:35] Anybody that can score.
[01:10:37] Yeah.
[01:10:37] So, then you've got the Big 12 to cap it off.
[01:10:40] You know, our Utes, our beloved Utes.
[01:10:43] Done.
[01:10:43] Cam rising out for the season.
[01:10:46] Eight-year eligibility.
[01:10:47] Yeah, eight-year eligibility.
[01:10:49] They just lost to Arizona State on Friday night.
[01:10:52] One of my surprise teams who I had at 7-5.
[01:10:55] They're sitting at 5-1 right now.
[01:10:57] They get Cincinnati this week.
[01:10:59] But the problem is they're starting quarterbacks out.
[01:11:03] So, sorry, Arizona State.
[01:11:06] Colorado, you know, only sitting there with one Big 12 loss.
[01:11:10] You know, just like Kansas State.
[01:11:12] Last week would have been a big win if they could have held on.
[01:11:15] That would have been a big win.
[01:11:16] But this is a big game this weekend because they go to Tucson to play the Wildcats.
[01:11:21] You know, Texas Tech still sitting there undefeated in conference.
[01:11:24] Iowa State, BYU.
[01:11:26] Remember I told you when we talked about it?
[01:11:28] Like, there's six or seven teams that could win this conference.
[01:11:30] The problem is it ain't none of those teams we were talking about besides Iowa State.
[01:11:35] Yeah, it's going to be tough for the Big 12.
[01:11:38] I like Colorado's chances because I think if they win a couple of games,
[01:11:45] I think they'll get them in the top 25.
[01:11:46] I thought at 4-1 they had a real opportunity to be in the top 25.
[01:11:50] But like we said, they didn't really play anyone.
[01:11:54] And the loss to Nebraska looked pretty bad.
[01:11:57] Like, they were just kind of out of sorts.
[01:11:59] But Shador's been playing.
[01:12:00] Like, I still believe he's going to be the first quarterback taking the next year's draft.
[01:12:05] Yeah, especially with the game the other night.
[01:12:08] That same team might be on as well.
[01:12:10] But, you know, we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
[01:12:12] Yeah, especially with that game the other night.
[01:12:15] Hunter and Austin.
[01:12:17] Yeah, they'll be thankful to get one team in.
[01:12:21] Two would be bribery.
[01:12:24] I think there's a possibility for two, though,
[01:12:26] because Oklahoma State's not what we thought they were going to be.
[01:12:30] Utah's not what we thought they were going to be.
[01:12:32] You know, so right now you have Iowa State and BYU both with zeros,
[01:12:37] not just in the conference, but overall.
[01:12:41] You know, overall.
[01:12:42] You know, BYU's got the Holy War.
[01:12:44] They get Oklahoma State this week.
[01:12:45] You know, Iowa State, you know, like –
[01:12:48] So, I mean, it's possible for the Big 12 to get two.
[01:12:50] I don't think it's probable, but the opportunity is there.
[01:12:54] But it's going to – but those teams are prone to get snakebitten.
[01:13:00] But see, that also is what collapses your playoff.
[01:13:03] One loss for Iowa State or one loss for BYU puts them at 13 and 14.
[01:13:12] So, it'll be the argument, like, what would you rather have,
[01:13:14] a two-loss Ohio State team or a two-loss Ohio State team?
[01:13:15] Well, that's what I was about to say.
[01:13:16] That's the team that blows up your playoff.
[01:13:19] That gets them – like, as soon as they lose, they're 13 and 14.
[01:13:22] Everybody – like, all the teams we previously discussed,
[01:13:25] Ohio State, Penn State, Alabama, strong finish from LSU,
[01:13:32] maybe Ole Miss goes on the run.
[01:13:33] All these teams will get huddled around 7 to 12.
[01:13:39] They'll just kind of hang out in a holding pattern over 7 to 12.
[01:13:43] And as the season plays out, they'll just drop them into place.
[01:13:47] A one loss or two loss Notre Dame, you're out.
[01:13:51] A one loss BYU, you're at 13.
[01:13:53] A one loss Iowa State, you're at 14.
[01:13:56] You know, like, you're going to – they're going to position them.
[01:13:58] Your holding pattern is going to be over here.
[01:14:01] That's going to be –
[01:14:01] The playoff rankings is November 5th.
[01:14:04] We'll see what it looks like.
[01:14:05] We're going to be pissed off.
[01:14:07] I guarantee we're going to be pissed off as a fan base.
[01:14:10] Because they're going to make us talk.
[01:14:11] It's going to be ridiculous.
[01:14:13] And then, of course, you know, you got your G5.
[01:14:15] Mr. Logical was riding with Boise.
[01:14:17] You know, I was riding with Memphis.
[01:14:19] You know, you got Boise at UNLV next week.
[01:14:22] Don't forget, UNLV has those two wins over Big 12 teams.
[01:14:26] You know, Boise played Oregon tough.
[01:14:28] And Ashton Gentry is just out here running wild all over the world.
[01:14:33] Standing up like Michael Myers.
[01:14:34] Standing up like Michael Myers.
[01:14:36] And, you know, the thing about Gentry is, you know, so six games, right?
[01:14:42] You know, he's sitting up here at 1,248 yards.
[01:14:46] Barry Sanders was at 11.56 at this point during his record-breaking season.
[01:14:52] So, you know, provided, you know, he doesn't get injured, Gentry might be coming for this for real.
[01:14:59] You know, they play UNLV.
[01:15:00] They're going to have a couple of 250-yard games in the next few weeks.
[01:15:06] It's just going to skyrocket his numbers.
[01:15:08] Just kind of set him up.
[01:15:10] This one's for you, residente.
[01:15:11] You know, so not only do they got at UNLV next week.
[01:15:15] They close with Oregon State, but in between, they get Brock Purdy's little brother in Nevada?
[01:15:23] You know, even though he's a quarterback, he's been running some gadget plays for them.
[01:15:27] He's running some slash-type things.
[01:15:28] So we'll see what Nevada can do.
[01:15:30] They just beat Oregon State this past weekend.
[01:15:32] But Boise, I think, is in the driver's seat right now.
[01:15:35] Liberty's still undefeated, but that schedule's going to come back to bite them.
[01:15:38] And hopefully my Hilltoppers can knock them off anyway.
[01:15:41] You know, Memphis had the win at Florida State, which any other year would have been awesome.
[01:15:48] Great.
[01:15:48] It would have been great for your resume.
[01:15:50] But the problem is they gave up 56 points and lost to Navy.
[01:15:53] So they close out at Tulane.
[01:15:56] But Navy has been beating the brakes off of people.
[01:15:58] Like, it's World War II.
[01:15:59] So it might not look like a bad loss when you end up with Army and Navy in their championship game
[01:16:08] and playing each other the following week in the Army-Navy game.
[01:16:12] It could be crazy.
[01:16:13] I'm here for the chaos.
[01:16:15] What if one of them beats Notre Dame?
[01:16:17] I think the expectation is that both of them are going to beat Notre Dame.
[01:16:22] I don't think that's an expectation.
[01:16:24] I think that's your expectation.
[01:16:27] I don't think anybody else will plan it out.
[01:16:29] Army and Navy are going to go into their championship game, both undefeated, both wins over Notre Dame.
[01:16:36] I don't think that's anybody's expectation but yours.
[01:16:41] Army goes to South Bend.
[01:16:43] Army goes to South Bend.
[01:16:45] And Navy gets Notre Dame at MetLife.
[01:16:48] But Memphis closes at Tulane.
[01:16:52] So that could be a big game, too.
[01:16:54] That could be can Tulane get back into the conversation depending on how the rest of these teams do.
[01:16:59] UNLV, like I said, them and Boise, is that an elimination game?
[01:17:03] You know, like that's something to consider.
[01:17:06] And I don't know, you know.
[01:17:09] But, you know, the one thing that I do like, you know, is red zone percentage.
[01:17:15] And, you know, right now, Ohio State is 100% in the red zone this season.
[01:17:21] 24 out of 26 touchdowns and two field goals.
[01:17:24] You know, Army, Texas, and Navy are 1, 2, and 3 in that order in red zone defense.
[01:17:31] Boise, 6th and 3rd down percentage.
[01:17:33] But before we close this up, Mr. Logical, let me ask you two quick questions.
[01:17:38] They're one question, but I'll just put them together.
[01:17:41] All right.
[01:17:41] So we look at the NFL sometimes.
[01:17:43] And, you know, back – I know you remember this.
[01:17:47] Peyton Manning and the gang, I believe they were 14-0,
[01:17:50] had a game with the Jets, sat their starters, you know, lost the game.
[01:17:55] Everybody was upset.
[01:17:56] Go for 16-0, all that stuff.
[01:17:58] So in college football – and granted, this is the first year of the 12-team playoff.
[01:18:04] But do you view having a bye – however you feel about it in the NFL,
[01:18:13] do you feel that same way about college?
[01:18:15] I think having a bye in college is not as important as having an NFL.
[01:18:26] NFL, you're only running – I think you're only bringing 45 guys.
[01:18:30] Like your active roster is 53 guys, but I think you show up to the game with 45 to 46 guys.
[01:18:36] There's a lot of guys on the sideline with hoodies on.
[01:18:38] Whereas a college game, you're still running 80 guys out there, you know,
[01:18:44] four stars, five stars, three stars, seniors that are backing up.
[01:18:48] You know, so you have so much talent.
[01:18:49] I don't think you need the rest of everyone.
[01:18:53] The defense – if you have an offense that can score points to bunches,
[01:18:59] I think you'll be fine.
[01:19:00] I think you'll stay in rhythm because, you know,
[01:19:03] we've seen guys catch a swing pass from the backfield,
[01:19:07] and somebody blew one man-to-man assignment.
[01:19:10] Now you got Notre Dame's running back right on the sideline wide open for a 60-yard touchdown.
[01:19:15] No one's in the picture.
[01:19:16] It's like the camera's panning, and there's like no one there.
[01:19:19] He just ran on the sideline.
[01:19:20] So I think in a college game, you can get that kind of playoff early,
[01:19:25] even after a bye, and get right into it.
[01:19:28] All right, second question.
[01:19:30] Do you think that the team that loses the conference championship game,
[01:19:42] do you think that carries over into the playoff?
[01:19:48] It depends on if you've been getting beat by this team a lot.
[01:19:53] For instance, Ohio State meets Oregon –
[01:19:58] Ohio State meets Oregon in the Big Ten championship game,
[01:20:02] and they lose by, you know, more decisively, seven to ten points.
[01:20:11] But there's – you know, at that point, they still would probably be 11-2
[01:20:15] because they would have played that would have been their 13th game.
[01:20:18] They're still going to get in the playoff.
[01:20:20] If you end up in a situation where you play Oregon again for the third time,
[01:20:25] does it get in your head that we lost by, you know, 12 men on the field,
[01:20:31] and then you kind of get – you know, you get beat handily the next game
[01:20:34] where, you know, at the end of the game it wasn't in doubt.
[01:20:37] Right.
[01:20:38] You match the game.
[01:20:39] But that's all predicated on guys.
[01:20:42] But, no, we saw a lot of guys sit out who thought they were going to be
[01:20:45] first-round draft picks.
[01:20:47] We might be in a situation where if I'm Ohio State
[01:20:51] and I'm 11 going into the playoffs,
[01:20:55] does that offensive tackle, the defensive tackle,
[01:20:58] the corner, the wide receiver that's projected to be a number one pick,
[01:21:01] does he want to play two or three more games?
[01:21:04] Or does he sit out?
[01:21:05] Does his agent or his team tell him, like, listen, let these other guys
[01:21:11] who are going to be here next year play for this.
[01:21:13] You don't need three more games, three more hits.
[01:21:16] Go out to California, go to the beach,
[01:21:19] work out with this quarterback coach or this trainer in Texas,
[01:21:21] whoever the case may be.
[01:21:23] So that's another piece that you can factor into it
[01:21:25] because I think that's probably going to be bigger
[01:21:27] because I know everyone wants to play for the championship,
[01:21:30] but in the same sense,
[01:21:32] do I really want to be a two loss or a three loss?
[01:21:36] Say LSU gets in with three losses.
[01:21:38] They're like, maybe not winning this thing.
[01:21:41] I'm going to train.
[01:21:43] I'm going to be a first or second-round pick.
[01:21:46] Yeah, so that's probably something I would look out for
[01:21:48] more than just the record is the fact that, like,
[01:21:53] do guys want to play?
[01:21:54] Because I think at that point, if you're 11,
[01:21:55] you're playing three more games.
[01:21:57] Right.
[01:21:58] Okay.
[01:21:59] Okay, fair enough.
[01:22:01] All right.
[01:22:01] So now it's award time.
[01:22:03] You know, the NBA, the association starts next week on the 22nd.
[01:22:09] You know, a week from yesterday.
[01:22:10] You know, inside the NBA, last season on TNT.
[01:22:14] You know, all the good things.
[01:22:16] So we wanted to have a quick conversation about some players
[01:22:19] that we have our eyes on as far as these awards.
[01:22:22] So let's take it right from the top.
[01:22:25] Mr. Logical, who is your MVP?
[01:22:29] The one and only light-skinned assassin, Jason Tatum.
[01:22:33] I got Jason Tatum as my MVP.
[01:22:37] I think him and Jalen Brown both feel equally as disrespected.
[01:22:42] Yeah, keep in mind, any other combination of superstar
[01:22:47] that essentially went, what, they went 82 and 20 on the year?
[01:22:53] 82 and 18 or something like that?
[01:22:56] Okay.
[01:22:57] Yeah, keep in mind, some teams lost 20 games in a month.
[01:23:01] The 30-day window last NBA season.
[01:23:04] These guys go 80, you know, 80 out of 100 games, win a championship,
[01:23:10] you know, finals MVP, they win these awards.
[01:23:14] It's like, and then he goes to the Olympics, gets disrespected.
[01:23:18] I mean, yes, there's a reason.
[01:23:19] His shots weren't falling, they didn't play him,
[01:23:21] but I think they probably could have given him more opportunities
[01:23:23] in those earlier games.
[01:23:26] Jalen Brown didn't get invited.
[01:23:29] Joe Mazzula, got it right, Joe.
[01:23:32] The way he was kind of disregarded all last year is like, oh, it's, you know,
[01:23:37] it's because his team is so good.
[01:23:38] It's like his team was good the year before.
[01:23:40] Or he got Porzingis.
[01:23:41] Porzingis was a cast-off of two or three teams.
[01:23:44] I think that collective chip on his shoulder, I got Jason Tatum,
[01:23:50] because I think they're going to win.
[01:23:52] It's about the same 62 to 64 games.
[01:23:57] So, yeah, Jason Tatum, my league MVP.
[01:24:05] I was going to say Jason Tatum, but since you said Jason Tatum.
[01:24:10] I think you should say it too.
[01:24:12] That's evident that you and I think outside the box logically and intelligently.
[01:24:16] It's not a knock that you and I agree,
[01:24:18] because everything I laid out, you probably feel the same way.
[01:24:22] Yeah, but for the sake of conversation.
[01:24:25] We can keep going, because I'm going to say why we don't think it's going to be other people.
[01:24:29] Well, yeah, I was going to do that too, but I'm going to go with my second place person,
[01:24:34] you know, just to have a conversation.
[01:24:35] You know, saying, I think that the MVP will be Anthony Edwards.
[01:24:40] I don't think so at all.
[01:24:42] You know, we got Cat out of town now.
[01:24:45] You know, Minnesota's defense is still going to keep them in the top three in the West,
[01:24:52] I believe, you know, I think that he's going to get that scoring up to about 28, you know,
[01:25:00] and when you think about the hole that Cat leaves on the offense, you know,
[01:25:04] Nasri can do some of the same things, but you're trying to get Julius Randle in there.
[01:25:09] You know, you got DiVincenzo coming in.
[01:25:11] So you have like a couple of different guys that are coming off the bench that will help out.
[01:25:17] But I think this is the year because the reason that I look at somebody like, say, SGA, for example,
[01:25:25] you know, a lot of people, myself included, felt that SGA should have been MVP last year.
[01:25:31] You know, but the reason that I think that he won't win it this year is his position.
[01:25:38] You know.
[01:25:39] SGA or Ant?
[01:25:40] SGA.
[01:25:41] Because since he's a point guard, you know, it's hard to duplicate the year that you had
[01:25:47] because y'all went and got Hartenstein.
[01:25:49] So I can't even make the argument that look at what SGA is doing because then you went and got Caruso too.
[01:25:56] So you added these two pieces or whatever that are going to be foundational for your run to the title.
[01:26:03] So I can't say, wow, SGA is putting the team on his back, you know.
[01:26:07] And then when I look at it as well, you imagine that Jalen Williams is going to get better.
[01:26:13] You imagine that Chet is going to get a little bit better in year two.
[01:26:16] So you look at it from the standpoint of all of these – the team is just improving.
[01:26:21] It's not SGA leading the team.
[01:26:24] But I think his numbers could get better.
[01:26:28] Well, he already averaged 30.
[01:26:32] I think it would go 29, maybe seven assists.
[01:26:38] Okay.
[01:26:39] You know, maybe four and a half, five rebounds.
[01:26:41] Something to get better because, like I said, the team is going to improve.
[01:26:45] They're probably going to be playing with more leads.
[01:26:49] We've seen how a lot of teams just haven't improved even in the West.
[01:26:55] And I like his personality.
[01:26:57] I just don't think that his – I don't know if he can score enough as fluidly.
[01:27:06] I think it might look like he's a volume shooter.
[01:27:10] And because I know he shoots a three streaky.
[01:27:15] You know, he doesn't create space where he gets the three off.
[01:27:18] It's like very streaky.
[01:27:19] Like, oh, you know, I'm feeling it.
[01:27:20] I'm getting to the rim.
[01:27:21] Let me hit this step back.
[01:27:22] It's like it's a very – it's an aggressive playing style.
[01:27:26] I just don't know if he could do that because he wants to play –
[01:27:30] you know, he wants to sit in a chair defensively as well.
[01:27:32] So I don't know if –
[01:27:34] That's what I was going to bring up.
[01:27:36] Because they don't really count the defense to MVP because –
[01:27:41] No, I know.
[01:27:41] But it's about optics.
[01:27:44] It's about optics.
[01:27:45] As I'm trying to make your MVP case, if I can turn around and say,
[01:27:49] look at what he did to, you know, Luka.
[01:27:52] Look what he did to Kyrie.
[01:27:53] Look at what he did to Jason Tatum.
[01:27:55] But right now, Luka's odds are plus 330.
[01:27:59] He, you know, he doesn't play that much defense.
[01:28:01] So I don't really think as an MVP –
[01:28:04] I don't think he's going to get pushed over the hump if he's averaging –
[01:28:07] No, no, no.
[01:28:08] He doesn't have points and he's playing top defense because –
[01:28:12] Yeah, which is why I said he's going to average like 28.
[01:28:15] But they're only going to look at the offensive end.
[01:28:18] And I think Luka's probably going to –
[01:28:19] Luka's probably going to average over 30.
[01:28:21] He is, but I just don't know.
[01:28:23] He's going to be in traffic home defensively.
[01:28:25] And it's going to be like to the point where it's going to be like a bad look.
[01:28:28] I don't know if Dallas can replicate what they did last year, you know,
[01:28:32] from the standpoint of –
[01:28:34] And I know, you know, like this is the thing, right?
[01:28:37] You know how you say don't piss in my pocket and tell me it's raining.
[01:28:40] One of my things is you know why it's a cliche?
[01:28:43] Because it happens to be true.
[01:28:45] So, you know, when I look at the Mavs,
[01:28:48] there's a difference in being the team that's hunting everybody.
[01:28:52] And now you're the team at the mountaintop.
[01:28:55] You can't hide anymore.
[01:28:56] You can't sneak up on anybody anymore because you made the NBA finals.
[01:29:01] And then you went on and got Klay Thompson who's, you know,
[01:29:05] three for 28 in his last 28 shots in preseason right now.
[01:29:09] And he's talking about, you know, I got four rings or whatever.
[01:29:13] Like they trust me, X, Y, Z, whatever.
[01:29:16] I just don't see Dallas being as good as they were last year.
[01:29:22] Jokic, I think, is going to run into fatigue, you know, voter fatigue.
[01:29:26] Because now he's got the third one.
[01:29:28] So for you to get that fourth one, like you really got to do something
[01:29:33] that you haven't done just yet.
[01:29:35] And I think Denver is probably going to –
[01:29:37] I think the 65-game threshold is going to, by default,
[01:29:45] eliminate three or four guys like, you know, your Kawhis.
[01:29:50] Embiid.
[01:29:51] Embiid, Jokic, because the way they got put out last year in the playoffs,
[01:29:57] granted it was a younger team.
[01:29:58] They played great defensively.
[01:29:59] It's going to be that whole I'm looking at April,
[01:30:04] even though it's November kind of mindset.
[01:30:07] And it's going to be the same that's kind of bogging the NBA
[01:30:10] entertainment realm as it is now.
[01:30:12] I don't know if the Olympics and, like, how that played out for a lot of the pros
[01:30:17] because there's a lot of pros in Serbia, a lot of pros in France,
[01:30:19] obviously USA team.
[01:30:21] I don't know if they're going to want to come out and play more games
[01:30:24] and, you know, try to make up the fact that, you know,
[01:30:27] a couple of teams have real opportunities to win gold medals.
[01:30:29] Serbia had it because they had USA down.
[01:30:31] And France was really in the battle where Steph Curry had hit four straight threes
[01:30:35] to really give him distance.
[01:30:37] So I don't know if that's going to carry over to the season,
[01:30:39] but you can probably eliminate a handful of guys just off of games alone.
[01:30:44] Like Jalen Brunson, I don't think he played 66 games.
[01:30:47] What would it take for Wimby to get some MVP votes?
[01:30:53] Man, they got to go like 46 and 36.
[01:30:58] Oh, it ain't happening is what you're saying.
[01:30:59] Yeah.
[01:31:00] Yeah.
[01:31:01] Giannis will probably get some votes just based off of numbers
[01:31:04] because he's always going to have numbers, you know,
[01:31:06] but I don't think he'll be really.
[01:31:08] I don't think he'll be in a running because I think.
[01:31:11] Unless he sits out some games.
[01:31:13] There's going to be a lot of teams that are just,
[01:31:15] they're going to coast through.
[01:31:16] There's going to be a lot of games where Milwaukee's at Detroit.
[01:31:19] I don't think they can though.
[01:31:20] Because he's got Middleton coming back.
[01:31:22] Middleton's coming off of the double ankle surgery.
[01:31:25] You know, Dame, you know, I imagine.
[01:31:28] There's more reason for him not to play a lot of games.
[01:31:29] Well, you, but I'm saying,
[01:31:31] but that's why like he can't get into MVP conversation
[01:31:33] because you're like thinking that way,
[01:31:36] they might not make the top four.
[01:31:39] I think they'll, I think they'll be fine.
[01:31:41] I just feel as if on that game against Detroit,
[01:31:44] they're not going to play.
[01:31:46] It's going to be a couple of games against Chicago
[01:31:48] where maybe Dame and Giannis both sit.
[01:31:51] There's going to be games where teams just,
[01:31:54] when they get to 30 games and Washington is,
[01:31:58] you know, six and 24 is like,
[01:32:01] does Dame really need to play this back to back for me?
[01:32:04] You know,
[01:32:05] like those kinds of situations where I think teams
[01:32:08] are just going to prepare themselves
[01:32:09] because Boston is going to be leading the pack
[01:32:12] and it's going to be Boston versus everybody.
[01:32:17] Yeah.
[01:32:17] And so, yeah.
[01:32:19] But yeah,
[01:32:19] so I think a lot of guys are going to just kind of self eliminate,
[01:32:22] but yeah,
[01:32:22] I got Jason Tatum on the revenge tour.
[01:32:25] Could this person be a,
[01:32:29] what's the word I'm looking for?
[01:32:30] I didn't want to say surprise.
[01:32:32] I wanted to say something else,
[01:32:33] but could this person be an unlikely,
[01:32:37] but somehow end up an MVP candidate?
[01:32:41] John Moran.
[01:32:42] No,
[01:32:43] no,
[01:32:44] I don't think so.
[01:32:45] Cause he doesn't shoot the three to get the points that he needs.
[01:32:50] He's exciting,
[01:32:51] but he's probably going to get you around 23 and some change.
[01:32:55] What if it's not your traditional point guard is like 54 games?
[01:33:00] Well,
[01:33:00] that's a lot of games.
[01:33:02] And yeah,
[01:33:03] 50,
[01:33:03] yeah.
[01:33:03] I mean,
[01:33:04] they,
[01:33:04] I mean,
[01:33:04] they finished two C last time he was playing.
[01:33:06] So,
[01:33:07] I mean,
[01:33:07] I'm not saying that they're going to be the two C also kind of like,
[01:33:10] they,
[01:33:10] they kind of purge that team a little bit.
[01:33:13] No,
[01:33:13] I know,
[01:33:13] but they still got Jerry Jackson.
[01:33:15] They still got Desmond Bain.
[01:33:17] They got Marcus smart.
[01:33:18] You know,
[01:33:19] who's a better Dylan Brooks.
[01:33:21] Yeah.
[01:33:22] That helps with the ball handling.
[01:33:23] They went for a year.
[01:33:24] They got Zach Edie.
[01:33:26] They got Zach Edie.
[01:33:27] And I like that.
[01:33:28] Zach Edie is on my list for,
[01:33:29] you know,
[01:33:30] rookie of the year.
[01:33:31] And those will be transition to that.
[01:33:32] But.
[01:33:33] I think the MVP is kind of locked into like five guys.
[01:33:38] I've paid them.
[01:33:38] It might be outside of that,
[01:33:40] that five,
[01:33:41] but I think the revenge tour aspect of it,
[01:33:46] unless going for it,
[01:33:49] if they're both going,
[01:33:50] you know,
[01:33:51] if they're both going for 28 to 30 points a game,
[01:33:54] then it can be tough.
[01:33:56] Right.
[01:33:57] Okay.
[01:33:58] Oh,
[01:33:58] that's like,
[01:33:58] I like to like the chip on the shoulder,
[01:34:00] you know,
[01:34:02] mindset.
[01:34:02] All right.
[01:34:03] So rookie of the year,
[01:34:04] you going with Edie.
[01:34:05] You said I got Edie.
[01:34:06] I just think Edie,
[01:34:07] just his game transitions the way he plays.
[01:34:10] He can do what he did in college and NBA versus the rest of these guys who
[01:34:15] were playing against 17 year olds who graduated high school early and
[01:34:20] dunking all crazy.
[01:34:21] Like your boy,
[01:34:22] Alex saw.
[01:34:24] It ain't going to be him.
[01:34:25] It's like these,
[01:34:27] these guys,
[01:34:27] they were planning essentially these pickup,
[01:34:30] these organized pickup leagues and Zach Edie was your,
[01:34:35] he swept the awards for player of the year,
[01:34:37] like two years in a row.
[01:34:40] I just feel like that is just a better,
[01:34:42] I think what he,
[01:34:43] like I said,
[01:34:44] I think what he does is transition to better rest.
[01:34:46] These guys all have,
[01:34:47] they have questions like,
[01:34:48] can they shoot fear of rookie?
[01:34:51] You can't knock down shots.
[01:34:52] It's like,
[01:34:53] you don't know all the defensive schemes.
[01:34:54] You don't know guys tendency.
[01:34:56] So the likelihood of you being a six,
[01:34:58] seven,
[01:35:00] 195 pound,
[01:35:01] 205 pound defender,
[01:35:03] unlikely,
[01:35:04] not knowing tendency.
[01:35:05] So a lot of these guys are going to get blown by defensively.
[01:35:08] They're gonna,
[01:35:09] you know,
[01:35:10] put up a lot of bad shots,
[01:35:12] you know,
[01:35:12] stuff like that.
[01:35:13] Whereas Edie is going to get your two power dribbles,
[01:35:16] seven foot four frame up and under,
[01:35:18] you know,
[01:35:20] Canadian Yao Ming style.
[01:35:21] Um,
[01:35:24] um,
[01:35:24] um,
[01:35:25] so for me,
[01:35:26] um,
[01:35:27] you know,
[01:35:28] I had a couple of different names,
[01:35:31] um,
[01:35:32] you know,
[01:35:32] cause of course all draft preview and everything,
[01:35:35] the world should know how I feel about Steph castle.
[01:35:39] You know,
[01:35:40] um,
[01:35:40] I think when it's all said and done,
[01:35:41] he might be the best player in the whole draft that might not come to
[01:35:44] fruition this year,
[01:35:46] but you know,
[01:35:47] but I think he has a chance,
[01:35:48] you know,
[01:35:49] him and Wendy are going to cause terror for people,
[01:35:53] especially defensively.
[01:35:54] But as you said about MVP,
[01:35:56] you know,
[01:35:57] defense doesn't really matter unless you're getting a lot of blocks,
[01:36:00] I guess,
[01:36:00] you know,
[01:36:00] that type of thing.
[01:36:01] If you're having like four blocks,
[01:36:03] 11 rebounds and,
[01:36:04] and 21 points.
[01:36:05] Okay.
[01:36:05] Yeah.
[01:36:06] So here's a couple of names that I wrote down.
[01:36:09] Um,
[01:36:10] Donovan Clingon,
[01:36:13] you know,
[01:36:13] um,
[01:36:13] so he has that block ability that we were just talking about that defensive
[01:36:17] player of the year,
[01:36:18] type ability.
[01:36:20] Like he's not as good as Wimby,
[01:36:21] obviously not as athletic as Wimby,
[01:36:24] but you know,
[01:36:25] he brings that same type of presence to the paint.
[01:36:27] The problem is 62.
[01:36:30] Yeah.
[01:36:30] The problem is,
[01:36:31] I don't know.
[01:36:31] The problem is,
[01:36:32] I don't know if he's going to start out starting because you know,
[01:36:35] Portland still has the Andre eight.
[01:36:38] They're going,
[01:36:39] they're going.
[01:36:40] I don't think record matters with rookie of the year.
[01:36:43] Yeah.
[01:36:44] We just wanted,
[01:36:45] we got to see him.
[01:36:46] Well,
[01:36:46] Wimby was a spectacle that we all wanted to see.
[01:36:50] So we just,
[01:36:50] LeBron didn't make the playoffs when he won rookie of the year.
[01:36:53] LeBron is a guy we wanted to see.
[01:36:55] No one wants to see,
[01:36:56] but there's nobody in the draft that we can really say that about.
[01:36:59] Zach E is going to be the guy.
[01:37:01] He's going to be on the season in the draft.
[01:37:04] Like,
[01:37:05] Oh,
[01:37:05] I can't wait to see Zach.
[01:37:06] He,
[01:37:07] I was more on Zach.
[01:37:08] Cause I,
[01:37:09] I heard like when I was seeking these reports saying he was going to be a
[01:37:11] second round pick.
[01:37:12] I'm like,
[01:37:12] how's this guy sweep all the best college awards.
[01:37:17] Play.
[01:37:17] And as tall as women,
[01:37:19] all this Wimby moves better than Brooke Lopez.
[01:37:22] It's like,
[01:37:22] how was he a second round pick?
[01:37:25] Right.
[01:37:25] That's why I was on eating.
[01:37:26] Cause I'm like,
[01:37:27] I'm like,
[01:37:27] I'm a big performer of like,
[01:37:29] get the easy shot.
[01:37:30] It's nothing.
[01:37:32] He's stupid to a seven foot four guy.
[01:37:35] Who's standing next to a 10 foot rim that he can touch on his tippy.
[01:37:38] Like,
[01:37:38] yeah.
[01:37:39] Yeah.
[01:37:39] So two of my sleepers are Mattelis,
[01:37:42] Boozelis.
[01:37:44] I think that's how you say it.
[01:37:44] Mattis Boozelis.
[01:37:46] And,
[01:37:46] um,
[01:37:49] just had the name of,
[01:37:50] uh,
[01:37:51] Tejon Saloon from the Hornets,
[01:37:53] you know?
[01:37:54] So those are,
[01:37:55] those are my two sleepers.
[01:37:56] Um,
[01:37:57] I don't think it's going to be SAR,
[01:37:59] you know,
[01:37:59] his offensive game isn't defined yet.
[01:38:01] You know,
[01:38:02] research a,
[01:38:03] I think we'll come on late.
[01:38:04] I think he'll have a slow start,
[01:38:06] but I think by the end of the year,
[01:38:08] he'll come on.
[01:38:08] But I think that,
[01:38:09] he might have that Jordan love type start where it just looks awful.
[01:38:14] And you shouldn't be starting.
[01:38:16] Why did you get drafted?
[01:38:17] Number one.
[01:38:18] And I think that by the end of the season,
[01:38:20] he might be clicking to where he's averaging 15 points or something along
[01:38:24] those lines,
[01:38:24] because being in Atlanta,
[01:38:26] you know,
[01:38:27] you're going to have Trey young taking a bunch of shots.
[01:38:29] The John T.
[01:38:30] Mary's gone.
[01:38:31] So who else is going to get the rest of the shots?
[01:38:33] So I think he'll have opportunity,
[01:38:35] but I think it's going to take a little while for him to actually catch on.
[01:38:38] Yeah.
[01:38:39] Only a few of these guys are going to average double digits.
[01:38:44] And I think he's double digits is going to be more impact.
[01:38:47] Yeah.
[01:38:47] And I think Ron Holland could be asleep or based off talent.
[01:38:50] I just don't like the TV plays for.
[01:38:54] Like Rob Dillingham don't connect.
[01:38:57] Like,
[01:38:57] I just think that they're going to have to defend wing guys.
[01:39:03] And I don't know how long you're going to be able to play them throughout the
[01:39:06] game.
[01:39:07] And I don't know how many shots.
[01:39:08] I think they're not shots.
[01:39:09] They're going to get,
[01:39:10] how long you're going to be able to plan.
[01:39:12] If they get,
[01:39:12] if someone,
[01:39:13] if they're going to attack in a pick and roll and it's like,
[01:39:16] all right,
[01:39:16] we got to pull them out.
[01:39:17] I think even if you get idiot in the,
[01:39:19] in the pick and roll,
[01:39:21] it's like you can give the fence.
[01:39:23] Like,
[01:39:23] you know what?
[01:39:24] Just stay down.
[01:39:25] Right.
[01:39:25] Just,
[01:39:25] just protect the paint.
[01:39:27] That's the best thing you have.
[01:39:29] You're seven foot four,
[01:39:30] seven foot eight wingspan.
[01:39:31] It's like,
[01:39:32] just don't try to go out and guard Anthony Davis on,
[01:39:35] let him shoot that 20 footer.
[01:39:37] Yeah.
[01:39:39] With Dalton connect,
[01:39:40] JJ Reddick's going to have to play with the lineup because,
[01:39:43] you know,
[01:39:44] if you,
[01:39:44] if you have him in with the starters or like,
[01:39:46] yeah,
[01:39:47] you got,
[01:39:48] yeah.
[01:39:48] Cause,
[01:39:48] cause well,
[01:39:48] well not only that,
[01:39:49] but I just mean from the back to the shot point,
[01:39:51] you got LeBron AD,
[01:39:54] you know,
[01:39:54] Austin Reeves,
[01:39:56] and you know,
[01:39:56] D-Lo going to jack some shots.
[01:39:58] So you don't got shots there.
[01:40:00] You can bring,
[01:40:00] you can bring D-Lo,
[01:40:02] you can bring D-Lo off the bench and have Dalton around with LeBron and AD.
[01:40:06] That way they're going to,
[01:40:07] I think they're going to set him up to get good shots.
[01:40:10] Cause I know LeBron.
[01:40:10] Are you bringing Austin Reeves off the bench too?
[01:40:12] Or are you putting him in connect on the floor together?
[01:40:15] I mean,
[01:40:15] if I could bring D-Lo,
[01:40:18] if you can,
[01:40:20] I will have the rookie play with the two vets.
[01:40:23] They're going to give him the most space.
[01:40:25] Cause you got to guard LeBron.
[01:40:27] You got to guard AD.
[01:40:29] You don't have to guard D-Lo and Austin Reeves.
[01:40:32] You can stay connected to Dalton's body,
[01:40:35] but if AD and LeBron are moving the ball around,
[01:40:38] you got to help.
[01:40:39] And he just has to be ready to shoot.
[01:40:40] Like in the corner on the wing or wherever you get it.
[01:40:43] I think that will help him get open shots.
[01:40:47] Okay.
[01:40:47] Versus,
[01:40:48] you know,
[01:40:48] having deal on the floor.
[01:40:49] Cause I don't think D-Lo creates enough space for him to get open shots.
[01:40:52] Right.
[01:40:53] All right.
[01:40:53] So who you got for a coach of the year?
[01:40:56] Coach of the year.
[01:40:56] I'm keeping it,
[01:40:57] you know,
[01:40:58] keeping the boss.
[01:40:59] And I'm going with Joe Mazzula.
[01:41:01] Not Mike Mazzula.
[01:41:02] I'm going with Joe.
[01:41:03] I think last year people just thought it was a fluke.
[01:41:06] But if we look,
[01:41:07] we looked at,
[01:41:07] as the season played out,
[01:41:09] we knew the West was going to be.
[01:41:14] Crabs in the barrel.
[01:41:15] Like there was going to be pulling.
[01:41:16] Someone's going to be just,
[01:41:17] they're going to be clawing at the other ones,
[01:41:19] pulling them down.
[01:41:19] And having an impact on them series.
[01:41:23] We knew series was going to go six,
[01:41:25] seven games,
[01:41:26] six tough games or almost seven games in every series.
[01:41:29] Whereas Boston was going to slide.
[01:41:31] I mean,
[01:41:31] if they got a six game,
[01:41:32] it would have been like,
[01:41:33] they had a couple of games where they gave up like,
[01:41:35] you know,
[01:41:36] 97 three point shots.
[01:41:38] It was like,
[01:41:38] okay,
[01:41:39] they were done.
[01:41:40] It wasn't like they were battling to the very end and then have to come
[01:41:43] right back in a couple of days and play a tough game.
[01:41:45] Three.
[01:41:45] They were just getting blown on game two.
[01:41:47] They would rest everybody in the game.
[01:41:49] Three,
[01:41:49] four and five.
[01:41:50] They close it out.
[01:41:52] I think this year,
[01:41:53] he's going to get a little bit more credit for what Boston does because
[01:41:56] you see it last year.
[01:41:58] They're going to have to,
[01:41:59] people are going to have to like look at the old film and put in work.
[01:42:02] And I think he'll make better adjustments.
[01:42:04] And like I said,
[01:42:05] Boston is going to be somewhere around 60 to 64 wins again.
[01:42:11] See,
[01:42:11] for me,
[01:42:12] that's why I don't like Missoula because it's going to just look like last
[01:42:15] year.
[01:42:16] And you already have that expectation.
[01:42:18] We already expect you to be the best team in the league,
[01:42:21] runaway team in the league.
[01:42:23] So like,
[01:42:24] we haven't had a back-to-back champion,
[01:42:26] you know,
[01:42:27] no,
[01:42:27] I mean,
[01:42:28] but this is a regular season award.
[01:42:29] So that part doesn't even matter,
[01:42:30] but,
[01:42:31] but I'm just saying,
[01:42:32] I'm just saying from the standpoint,
[01:42:34] like they were going to win it all last year is like,
[01:42:37] cause we like the pressure and everything else.
[01:42:39] I think handling that pressure dominating the East again,
[01:42:43] but it depends.
[01:42:44] That's the thing.
[01:42:45] So,
[01:42:45] so,
[01:42:45] so like if you win,
[01:42:46] so,
[01:42:47] so last year they won 64 games,
[01:42:49] you know,
[01:42:50] so if you went in 62 this year,
[01:42:52] you went backwards to some degree,
[01:42:54] just looking at numbers,
[01:42:55] you went backwards.
[01:42:56] You know what I mean?
[01:42:57] Like if you win 64,
[01:42:58] you did the same thing you did last year.
[01:43:00] And last year you won the East by 11 or 12 games.
[01:43:04] So I don't think you're going to win it by 11 or 12 games this year,
[01:43:08] you know?
[01:43:09] So I don't know if Boston changes enough.
[01:43:13] Unless they just go with best coach or coach of best team,
[01:43:18] unless they go with that,
[01:43:19] you know?
[01:43:20] So I was thinking,
[01:43:21] I got a couple of different names here,
[01:43:23] but I'm going to just give you my first name here.
[01:43:25] So my first name that I thought about just based off of media,
[01:43:29] based off of hype,
[01:43:32] let the Knicks win like 57 or 58 games.
[01:43:36] They given Tibbs that award.
[01:43:40] They given Tibbs that award,
[01:43:41] especially in your breaking in new players.
[01:43:43] Like,
[01:43:43] you know,
[01:43:44] you went and got McHale.
[01:43:45] See,
[01:43:45] they don't hurt coaches that way.
[01:43:47] They hurt players from the standpoint.
[01:43:49] As a,
[01:43:50] as a sports,
[01:43:51] you know,
[01:43:52] pundit,
[01:43:53] how does Tibbs get 57 wins out of that group?
[01:43:57] How does he not?
[01:43:59] I don't see it.
[01:44:00] I don't,
[01:44:02] I see a lot of games where Jalen Brunson's is holding on the ball.
[01:44:07] I don't think they have any scoring last year.
[01:44:11] Yeah.
[01:44:12] And Jalen Brunson was the only guy holding the ball at the end of the game.
[01:44:15] And now you got your own version of a unicorn that can step out,
[01:44:19] pull the,
[01:44:20] pull the defense out.
[01:44:21] And I like cat.
[01:44:22] I just don't think cats.
[01:44:24] I don't think cat.
[01:44:25] I don't think you've given up two players like Devin Chinzo.
[01:44:27] I know G.
[01:44:28] Lush Reynolds didn't play,
[01:44:29] but I think Devin Chinzo gives you more for the Knicks than cat does.
[01:44:36] And I don't think getting rid of those two guys and bringing in Devin.
[01:44:40] But see,
[01:44:40] I think you're doing that thing again.
[01:44:41] This is seven wins.
[01:44:43] I think you're doing that.
[01:44:44] I think you're doing that thing again,
[01:44:45] where we were talking about the MVP and rookie of the year,
[01:44:48] where you weren't factoring in defense.
[01:44:51] Does cat play that great a defensive?
[01:44:54] That's why they brought Rudy Gobert into Minnesota.
[01:44:56] Like I like cat.
[01:44:57] I just don't think that he's seven more wins.
[01:45:01] With tips,
[01:45:02] because we saw what happened in the playoffs with tips.
[01:45:04] And you know what?
[01:45:04] I would agree with you.
[01:45:05] He ran his guys into the floor.
[01:45:06] I would agree with you.
[01:45:07] If they only brought in cat.
[01:45:11] Who else?
[01:45:12] They brought in McHale bridges.
[01:45:14] You know,
[01:45:15] like when they had out an OB last year,
[01:45:17] regular season,
[01:45:18] they went 31 and five with them in the lineup.
[01:45:20] You know what I mean?
[01:45:21] And when you look at it,
[01:45:23] like I was saying,
[01:45:24] cat extends the defense and brings the defense out,
[01:45:27] you know,
[01:45:28] opening up lanes for other people.
[01:45:29] So even though to your point,
[01:45:32] these guys may not be superstar scores or whatever,
[01:45:35] but if you have space and open lanes,
[01:45:38] you can do something with that.
[01:45:39] So,
[01:45:39] so you figured,
[01:45:41] so this is the way I figured.
[01:45:42] Not to play his guys for 40 minutes every single night.
[01:45:45] That's that,
[01:45:46] that,
[01:45:46] that comes into play during the playoffs,
[01:45:48] but,
[01:45:49] but you know,
[01:45:49] but so,
[01:45:50] so like,
[01:45:50] so like,
[01:45:51] this is the way my mind is breaking it down.
[01:45:54] Jalen Brunson is going to get you at least 26 points a game.
[01:45:57] He averaged 27 last year.
[01:45:59] He's going to get you at least 26 a game.
[01:46:01] Cats going to get you 22,
[01:46:03] possibly 23.
[01:46:05] Correct.
[01:46:05] You know,
[01:46:06] one of just one of bridges or Adanobi can get you 15 to 17.
[01:46:13] You know,
[01:46:14] what,
[01:46:14] at least one of them.
[01:46:15] But that's the thing.
[01:46:18] Jalen Brunson doesn't create offense for other players.
[01:46:22] Like Adanobi and Mikael Bridges.
[01:46:26] And nobody was there as a baller.
[01:46:28] He was what Tibbs needed.
[01:46:31] I think he's just like wing,
[01:46:33] strong wing defender can hit open shots,
[01:46:36] but I don't know if Jalen Brunson is coming down the lane on these nights
[01:46:40] where he's trying to put up 40 and kicking it out and getting guys open
[01:46:44] looks.
[01:46:45] Even Chinzo was a guy that was getting those open looks that was taking them
[01:46:49] or creating them when he got the,
[01:46:50] get the ball in his hand.
[01:46:51] I think they're a 50 win team.
[01:46:54] I think they're a good team.
[01:46:56] I just don't see those additions getting them seven more,
[01:47:00] seven to eight more wins.
[01:47:02] Well,
[01:47:02] I see it.
[01:47:03] Like I said,
[01:47:03] just from the defensive standpoint,
[01:47:05] like even when they,
[01:47:06] like,
[01:47:06] like we mentioned,
[01:47:08] or I mentioned,
[01:47:09] I should say,
[01:47:09] when we did our preview,
[01:47:10] I mentioned that Adanobi and Mikael Bridges are,
[01:47:15] you know,
[01:47:15] this is your answer to Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum,
[01:47:20] but Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown does this to the rest of the league too.
[01:47:24] So defensively bridges and Adanobi are going to do this to everybody.
[01:47:28] I just don't know.
[01:47:29] I think the lack of a point guard is going to hurt them all offensively.
[01:47:33] And also think about the East.
[01:47:34] Think about the East.
[01:47:35] You know,
[01:47:36] you got Washington,
[01:47:37] Detroit,
[01:47:39] Charlotte,
[01:47:41] Atlanta,
[01:47:43] Miami's not Miami anymore.
[01:47:45] No,
[01:47:46] Miami's not Miami anymore.
[01:47:47] Yeah.
[01:47:48] You,
[01:47:48] you know,
[01:47:48] so,
[01:47:49] so like,
[01:47:49] so like wins are going to pile up because you're going to play those teams
[01:47:52] three to four times.
[01:47:53] You're going to get,
[01:47:54] you're going to get eight cheap wins from teams that are just.
[01:47:58] Yeah.
[01:47:59] And then when you look out West Portland,
[01:48:01] what the fuck is Utah doing?
[01:48:03] You know,
[01:48:03] you play both of them twice,
[01:48:05] you know,
[01:48:05] you know,
[01:48:07] you know,
[01:48:07] and then when you look at the East,
[01:48:08] we talk about Philly,
[01:48:10] Paul George already hurt during the preseason.
[01:48:12] You know,
[01:48:13] even though he'll be back,
[01:48:14] you know,
[01:48:14] hyper extension,
[01:48:15] you know,
[01:48:16] but Embiid's not playing back to backs.
[01:48:18] You know,
[01:48:20] you're still trying to fit all these new pieces together in Philly.
[01:48:23] You know,
[01:48:25] Milwaukee,
[01:48:26] we just talked about Chris Middleton and his injuries.
[01:48:30] You know,
[01:48:31] does Orlando have enough to score consistently?
[01:48:34] We asked that question,
[01:48:36] you know,
[01:48:38] Indiana,
[01:48:38] Indiana.
[01:48:39] Can they stop anybody?
[01:48:40] You know,
[01:48:41] so there's wins to be had,
[01:48:42] you know,
[01:48:43] but the other name I was going to bring up was Kenny Atkinson,
[01:48:47] you know,
[01:48:48] over in Cleveland,
[01:48:49] you know,
[01:48:50] because I think they're going to finish third in the East.
[01:48:52] I think they're going to finish ahead of Philly.
[01:48:54] I think they're going to finish ahead of Milwaukee.
[01:48:57] And I think that could be a significant enough achievement.
[01:48:59] But is that a 47 and 35 third?
[01:49:03] I don't think it matters.
[01:49:04] You don't think so?
[01:49:05] I don't think it matters.
[01:49:06] Not,
[01:49:07] not,
[01:49:07] not when you look at odds.
[01:49:08] And when you look at the hype that these teams,
[01:49:10] because people are looking at Philadelphia as the challenger to Boston.
[01:49:13] You know what I mean?
[01:49:14] So,
[01:49:14] so if you finish ahead of them,
[01:49:16] I don't think it matters what your win,
[01:49:18] what your win is.
[01:49:19] Like,
[01:49:19] so if you take wins out of the equation,
[01:49:22] could he may get coaching a year for bringing the Rockets to the playoffs?
[01:49:27] Probably not because they'll probably be a lower.
[01:49:29] It's been the surprise team that has put themselves in the upper,
[01:49:39] echelon as far as wins of the league.
[01:49:42] OKC coach.
[01:49:43] Well,
[01:49:44] I was going to bring that up.
[01:49:45] I was going to bring him up next.
[01:49:46] 47 wins is 47 wins in the East.
[01:49:50] When you're,
[01:49:52] we're projecting that Boston,
[01:49:54] like I said,
[01:49:55] anywhere from 60 to 64.
[01:49:58] I just don't see how a guy that gets 47 wins.
[01:50:03] Wins coach of the year when the defendant champion,
[01:50:07] like I said,
[01:50:08] I got,
[01:50:08] I think he has the MVP on his team.
[01:50:12] Maybe Jalen Brown says,
[01:50:13] you know what?
[01:50:13] Maybe I'm a hunker down defensively.
[01:50:15] Maybe he's in the run.
[01:50:16] I don't know how well he plays defense,
[01:50:18] defense,
[01:50:19] but maybe he's in the running for that.
[01:50:21] You know,
[01:50:21] maybe there was sort of like,
[01:50:23] I just think that Boston just is going to have a better opportunity to win
[01:50:26] more games.
[01:50:27] I don't know.
[01:50:28] 47 wins gets it done.
[01:50:29] I think,
[01:50:29] I think Martin Dageno was another name I was going to bring up because,
[01:50:35] you know,
[01:50:35] he probably could have won coach of the year last year.
[01:50:38] If Boston didn't have the year that they had,
[01:50:41] you know,
[01:50:41] take an okay seat to the number one seed,
[01:50:43] you know?
[01:50:44] So like,
[01:50:45] but it,
[01:50:45] but it comes back to the same thing I said about Boston is getting the one
[01:50:49] seed enough.
[01:50:50] Like how close do you have to be to Boston wins wise for him to have a
[01:50:56] chance to get the award?
[01:50:57] The fact that Boston won the championship is going to help Missoula in the,
[01:51:02] if they would have lost last year,
[01:51:04] they're just going to go with the name brand.
[01:51:05] What they know.
[01:51:06] Yeah.
[01:51:06] Yeah.
[01:51:06] If,
[01:51:07] if,
[01:51:07] if,
[01:51:08] if,
[01:51:08] if Boston would have lost in the finals last year,
[01:51:11] the Missoula getting them to 62 to 64 wins again this year,
[01:51:15] it wouldn't look like an accomplishment.
[01:51:17] It'd look like,
[01:51:17] okay,
[01:51:17] you have unfinished business,
[01:51:18] but having the win the way they dominated the East and to run it right
[01:51:23] back.
[01:51:24] Is that,
[01:51:25] I think that's going to,
[01:51:26] I think that's going to bode well for him.
[01:51:28] Okay.
[01:51:28] It may be a new coach,
[01:51:29] you know,
[01:51:29] like some coaches kind of fell into good situations.
[01:51:32] I don't really see a lot of coaches that fell into good situations.
[01:51:36] But,
[01:51:37] or maybe,
[01:51:37] maybe Chris Finch could get,
[01:51:40] could get some votes if Minnesota finishes as the one seed or a top two
[01:51:43] seed again.
[01:51:44] Yeah.
[01:51:45] You know,
[01:51:45] considering that they lost cat and everything.
[01:51:47] So maybe like,
[01:51:48] if they win 51 games,
[01:51:51] like Julius Randall into like the all-star that he was,
[01:51:54] you know,
[01:51:54] so a few years back,
[01:51:55] yeah,
[01:51:56] I could see him like,
[01:51:56] you know,
[01:51:57] sniping some votes because they'll games,
[01:51:59] their games will be on differently because you know,
[01:52:01] one team central and they'll be playing in the West.
[01:52:03] So you'll have the Boston game will be over.
[01:52:05] And then the Minnesota game,
[01:52:06] Beyonce.
[01:52:06] Yeah.
[01:52:07] I can,
[01:52:07] I can see something.
[01:52:08] I thought when Julius Randall made the all-star game,
[01:52:10] they were just doing something for somebody.
[01:52:12] Unfortunate.
[01:52:14] Like a make a wish.
[01:52:15] Yeah.
[01:52:16] I thought that's what that was.
[01:52:17] Like he didn't win like a lottery type thing.
[01:52:19] No,
[01:52:20] he's going to fight you when he comes to San Antonio.
[01:52:24] Defensive player of the year.
[01:52:25] I think we probably both agree on this one.
[01:52:27] Okay.
[01:52:28] One,
[01:52:28] two,
[01:52:29] three.
[01:52:29] You know,
[01:52:33] I was just going to ask here.
[01:52:34] I was just going to ask,
[01:52:35] is this the year that bam out of bio breaks through?
[01:52:38] Because he felt like he should have won it two or three times by now.
[01:52:41] He thought he should have got it.
[01:52:41] The Marcus smart year.
[01:52:43] The defensive player of the year.
[01:52:44] Yeah.
[01:52:45] And he thought he should have got it.
[01:52:46] I think he might be,
[01:52:47] they might need him more offensively.
[01:52:50] So I don't know.
[01:52:53] When me just,
[01:52:54] is this going to just be such a force?
[01:52:57] It's going to be,
[01:52:58] he's going to average like four and a half blocks.
[01:52:59] Yeah.
[01:53:00] Like it's,
[01:53:00] it's going to be nuts.
[01:53:01] Second year in the league.
[01:53:02] He's going to have Chris Paul throwing them blobs.
[01:53:05] He's just going to be filling himself.
[01:53:06] Cause like,
[01:53:06] like I said,
[01:53:07] I think a lot of those games where Wimby was playing,
[01:53:09] I think a lot of times it's like the lack of his offensive opportunities
[01:53:14] probably took him out of the game.
[01:53:16] So yeah,
[01:53:16] he looked like he was upset during preseason.
[01:53:18] I saw like a few times he looked frustrated that he wasn't getting the
[01:53:22] ball.
[01:53:22] Yeah.
[01:53:23] So,
[01:53:24] you know,
[01:53:24] I wonder if he's going to win.
[01:53:26] Chris Paul can give the blueprint to like,
[01:53:29] this is how,
[01:53:29] this is the plate we call to get Wimby to lock.
[01:53:32] Well,
[01:53:33] I wonder if he's going to win it because he didn't get it last year.
[01:53:36] Because I was going to say you,
[01:53:39] you had an argument.
[01:53:40] So like,
[01:53:40] you know what I mean?
[01:53:41] I wonder.
[01:53:41] It's not defensive team of the years,
[01:53:42] defensive player.
[01:53:43] Right.
[01:53:43] How did you do defensively?
[01:53:45] Yeah.
[01:53:46] All right.
[01:53:46] What about most improved?
[01:53:50] Out of the box,
[01:53:51] Paulo Becker.
[01:53:52] I think Orlando,
[01:53:55] you know,
[01:53:55] the moves they made.
[01:53:56] I just like,
[01:53:57] I like them in the East.
[01:53:59] I like them making the playoffs last year and,
[01:54:03] you know,
[01:54:03] young guys taking that next step.
[01:54:05] Duke players.
[01:54:06] Apparently I like Duke guys,
[01:54:08] but yeah,
[01:54:09] just,
[01:54:09] you know,
[01:54:10] just,
[01:54:11] just,
[01:54:11] I think,
[01:54:11] I think this is his opportunity.
[01:54:13] I believe the NBA is that they have to,
[01:54:16] they have to put in a plan,
[01:54:18] a highlight,
[01:54:18] more young talent.
[01:54:20] Um,
[01:54:20] and I think he's,
[01:54:21] I think he's gonna be one of the guys that,
[01:54:23] that does it,
[01:54:24] you know,
[01:54:24] like 26 and a half,
[01:54:26] 27 points.
[01:54:27] I'm,
[01:54:27] I'm thinking like a big step for,
[01:54:28] for Paulo Vancaro.
[01:54:30] Okay.
[01:54:31] I got,
[01:54:32] three names,
[01:54:34] my leader,
[01:54:36] and I don't know why I keep trying to die on this hill,
[01:54:38] but you know,
[01:54:39] I mentioned,
[01:54:40] I mentioned Cleveland earlier.
[01:54:43] Yep.
[01:54:44] With a new head coach,
[01:54:46] with a new head coach.
[01:54:47] Get on the seat.
[01:54:48] Just give him the ball.
[01:54:50] Just give him the ball.
[01:54:51] And Kenny Atkinson is known for developing young players.
[01:54:54] He was the head coach of that Brooklyn team that got the eight seed,
[01:54:57] but Karis Laverde and all those guys,
[01:54:59] they should just give him Chris Bosch tape.
[01:55:02] Like,
[01:55:02] yo,
[01:55:02] just do what this guy did.
[01:55:03] Well,
[01:55:04] he probably can,
[01:55:04] but they don't give him the ball.
[01:55:06] And you got,
[01:55:06] I'm saying like,
[01:55:07] just,
[01:55:08] this is how we're going to put you into action all season long.
[01:55:12] Chris Bosch between Toronto and Miami,
[01:55:14] Chris Bosch.
[01:55:15] This is what we're going to do.
[01:55:16] You got a dude that six,
[01:55:17] you got a six point,
[01:55:18] a six foot three point guard that wants to shoot.
[01:55:21] Even if he's standing in the parking lot,
[01:55:23] he'll still try to shoot the ball.
[01:55:25] You know,
[01:55:25] you got your shooting guard.
[01:55:27] Who's smaller than him that,
[01:55:29] you know,
[01:55:29] wants to take 18 to 20 shots himself as well.
[01:55:32] So now that you got an actual head coach in there,
[01:55:36] you know,
[01:55:36] can one of y'all average nine assists,
[01:55:38] which one of y'all want to average nine assists?
[01:55:40] It ain't Donovan Mitchell.
[01:55:43] One of y'all got to average nine assists.
[01:55:45] The other one I need six and a half.
[01:55:47] Like this guy needs 14 shots a game.
[01:55:50] But my other name,
[01:55:51] which one of you two is going to subtract your 30 shots to get him as 14.
[01:55:55] Yeah.
[01:55:56] So my other names and my number two name might be more realistic.
[01:56:00] Scotty Barnes,
[01:56:01] you know,
[01:56:02] they cleared out,
[01:56:03] you know,
[01:56:03] you got a see outcome out of there.
[01:56:05] You got out of no be out of there.
[01:56:07] You drafted him to be your six,
[01:56:09] 10 point guard type hybrid Giannis type player.
[01:56:13] Maybe this is the gear.
[01:56:14] Scotty Barnes takes that leap.
[01:56:16] It doesn't might,
[01:56:16] it might not necessarily mean that Toronto is going to make the playoffs,
[01:56:19] but then you really need like a team around you.
[01:56:23] Right.
[01:56:23] Because the most improved,
[01:56:25] I know it's an individual award,
[01:56:27] but I think it kind of go along,
[01:56:29] goes along hand in hand with like team success.
[01:56:33] So you're improving.
[01:56:35] And if you're in it,
[01:56:37] if they kind of ascended you to like,
[01:56:38] okay,
[01:56:38] you're the de facto guy on this team.
[01:56:40] Right.
[01:56:41] Then your improvement has to be commiserate with the wins.
[01:56:44] Whereas like as a team,
[01:56:46] they're growing.
[01:56:47] And I think he's going to be the piece that rises.
[01:56:50] Well,
[01:56:51] yeah,
[01:56:51] no,
[01:56:52] I get that.
[01:56:52] Yeah.
[01:56:52] That makes sense.
[01:56:53] That makes sense.
[01:56:55] But with Scotty Barnes,
[01:56:56] they won 25 games last year,
[01:56:59] you know,
[01:57:00] so him just getting them to 39 and a play in might be good enough.
[01:57:04] Okay.
[01:57:05] You know what I mean?
[01:57:07] Cause they're not going to be like a top six seed.
[01:57:09] Like their path would be to play in another name that I like,
[01:57:13] you know,
[01:57:14] and this one is a little bit more,
[01:57:16] I don't want to say outside the box.
[01:57:18] Cause he is a good player,
[01:57:19] but it's just going to depend on,
[01:57:21] can you get him the ball as well?
[01:57:22] I like Jalen Johnson out of Atlanta,
[01:57:25] you know,
[01:57:26] hopefully with DeJounte Mary out of there,
[01:57:29] that gets him more shots.
[01:57:31] The Andre Hunter never developed into what I thought he was going to develop
[01:57:34] into.
[01:57:35] And then the last name,
[01:57:37] you ready to kill me?
[01:57:39] Let's hear it.
[01:57:40] Kane Cunningham.
[01:57:44] Remember that part I said about team success.
[01:57:48] Hey,
[01:57:50] Kate Cunningham.
[01:57:51] You know what I'm saying?
[01:57:53] And then finally,
[01:57:55] we got six man of the year.
[01:57:59] I got my guy.
[01:58:01] All right.
[01:58:02] Let's hear it.
[01:58:03] Dante DiVincenzo,
[01:58:04] baby.
[01:58:05] I knew it.
[01:58:06] I saw when he was talking about,
[01:58:08] Oh,
[01:58:09] this is what happened when you let the dad run the show.
[01:58:12] Oh yeah.
[01:58:13] And then Ant,
[01:58:14] I think Ant's going to be boosting them up.
[01:58:16] I think Ant's going to come off the,
[01:58:20] you know,
[01:58:20] be on the sideline,
[01:58:22] just aping them up.
[01:58:23] I think that's going to be fun to watch.
[01:58:25] I think the shit talking is going to be great.
[01:58:27] I'm here for it.
[01:58:31] All right.
[01:58:33] What do you think?
[01:58:35] This is not my answer,
[01:58:37] but what do you think of Josh Hart's chances?
[01:58:44] Not likely.
[01:58:46] He won't get enough shots.
[01:58:47] He won't get enough shots.
[01:58:48] He's,
[01:58:49] if you had to think about it,
[01:58:50] he's on the floor.
[01:58:52] Him,
[01:58:52] Kat,
[01:58:53] Adenobi,
[01:58:55] Mikkel Bridges,
[01:58:57] Jalen Brunson.
[01:58:59] Who is,
[01:59:00] who's getting,
[01:59:01] who's fifth in the shot chart?
[01:59:07] Fair enough.
[01:59:08] Fair enough.
[01:59:08] Six man,
[01:59:09] six,
[01:59:09] you know,
[01:59:09] six man,
[01:59:10] those guys like,
[01:59:11] cause he's probably going to start a lot of games.
[01:59:13] Cause he plays great defense.
[01:59:15] Six man,
[01:59:16] you gotta get,
[01:59:17] you're looking at 16,
[01:59:19] 16,
[01:59:20] 17 points off the bench.
[01:59:21] That seems to be like the going rate.
[01:59:24] And then you're,
[01:59:25] you're able to be on the floor when it's closing out because you can hit
[01:59:28] threes.
[01:59:28] So then with that all being said,
[01:59:32] my answer is your six man of the MVPs teammate.
[01:59:40] Derrick White.
[01:59:41] No,
[01:59:42] you said Dante DiVincenzo,
[01:59:44] right?
[01:59:44] Oh yeah.
[01:59:46] Yeah.
[01:59:46] Yeah.
[01:59:48] Yeah.
[01:59:48] I think Nas Reed is probably going to be putting the starting lineup when they
[01:59:50] realize that they,
[01:59:51] they kind of missed what Kat gave them.
[01:59:54] Cause I don't know.
[01:59:55] I think that Julius Randle is in the Deshaun Watson lane of,
[01:59:59] he makes too much money potentially to come off the bench.
[02:00:05] That's,
[02:00:06] that's,
[02:00:06] that's the thing that I look at with him.
[02:00:08] Yeah.
[02:00:08] You know what I mean?
[02:00:09] Like,
[02:00:10] um,
[02:00:11] you know,
[02:00:11] cause you can't play them together.
[02:00:13] I would think like very long,
[02:00:14] like over a long period of the game,
[02:00:16] Nas Reed and Julius Randle.
[02:00:18] Yeah.
[02:00:19] Unless you're playing,
[02:00:20] let's just starting Julius at the five and those games will go buried.
[02:00:23] Yeah.
[02:00:23] You can't.
[02:00:24] Yeah.
[02:00:25] That's a,
[02:00:25] that's a,
[02:00:26] that's a tough,
[02:00:26] that's a tough trade.
[02:00:27] They made there.
[02:00:28] Cause it kind of made yourself,
[02:00:29] you kind of paid yourself into a bad corner,
[02:00:32] you know,
[02:00:32] or,
[02:00:34] you know,
[02:00:34] conventional wisdom.
[02:00:36] Conventional wisdom.
[02:00:37] It could be Malik Monk.
[02:00:40] I know he's the favorite,
[02:00:41] but he's coming off an injury.
[02:00:43] So that's why I didn't pick him just because he's coming off the injury,
[02:00:46] but he lights it up.
[02:00:48] Yeah.
[02:00:48] It's going to be that Jamal Crawford role.
[02:00:50] Like,
[02:00:50] let's see what I do.
[02:00:51] I'm off the bench and I'm on fire.
[02:00:53] Yeah.
[02:00:54] All right.
[02:00:55] But I'm open.
[02:00:55] I'm open at the scoring table.
[02:00:57] There you go.
[02:00:58] Well,
[02:00:58] last things last.
[02:01:01] Who is Mr.
[02:01:03] Logical's NBA finals and champion?
[02:01:06] I mean,
[02:01:07] it's shock.
[02:01:10] I'm gonna go with Boston.
[02:01:11] I don't really think that many teams made significant moves.
[02:01:17] I think their core is still very young.
[02:01:20] I think they paid their core.
[02:01:21] They,
[02:01:22] they paid all their guys.
[02:01:24] And the guys that haven't get paid on favorable contracts,
[02:01:28] they just seem to have a role for every player that comes in the game.
[02:01:32] You know,
[02:01:32] 10 or 11 guys all have like a significant carved out role.
[02:01:37] Coming off the championship.
[02:01:38] Like I said,
[02:01:39] and then this,
[02:01:39] the chip on the show is very similar to what Kansas city's dealing with.
[02:01:44] And then I felt like we want back-to-back Superbowls.
[02:01:49] And you guys are now we're underdogs.
[02:01:51] So a three and three team,
[02:01:53] San Francisco.
[02:01:54] So like stuff like that.
[02:01:55] I think that,
[02:01:56] I think that's going to be a rallying cry for the Boston Celtics.
[02:02:00] And I believe it repeat.
[02:02:02] Who are they going to beat?
[02:02:05] I can't say Dallas.
[02:02:06] I saw them.
[02:02:09] I thought you was going to say Denver.
[02:02:12] Nah,
[02:02:12] because I don't know Jamal Murray.
[02:02:14] I don't know if it's going to be one of those things where people kind of
[02:02:17] expect him to do more in a regular season.
[02:02:20] And,
[02:02:20] you know,
[02:02:20] he hurt,
[02:02:21] strain something and he misses some time.
[02:02:23] I like Minnesota's chances.
[02:02:26] If I,
[02:02:26] if the Julius Randall,
[02:02:27] Nas Reed part works seamlessly.
[02:02:33] Obviously you still got like Dallas.
[02:02:35] I don't know about clay.
[02:02:36] Clay seems to be,
[02:02:36] you know,
[02:02:37] you might be a little too long in the tooth.
[02:02:41] Okay.
[02:02:41] Okay.
[02:02:42] Okay.
[02:02:42] See,
[02:02:42] definitely has on paper,
[02:02:46] look like they made the biggest improvement by even what their,
[02:02:49] that minor addition of heart and signs.
[02:02:52] It just kind of solidifies.
[02:02:54] And Caruso.
[02:02:55] Big it.
[02:02:55] And Caruso.
[02:02:56] Like their two,
[02:02:56] their biggest issue was toughness.
[02:03:00] Well,
[02:03:00] rebounding and rebounding is a toughness treat.
[02:03:04] So my young superstar here,
[02:03:06] she's trooping it out.
[02:03:08] Very late.
[02:03:10] Yeah.
[02:03:10] Kill me.
[02:03:10] I'll wrap this up real quick.
[02:03:12] I'm taking OKC over Boston.
[02:03:16] That's my finals.
[02:03:18] And one name that I forgot to mention in the most improved player.
[02:03:21] It just hit me as I was saying that Josh Giddy,
[02:03:26] you know what I'm saying?
[02:03:27] Like he's.
[02:03:27] But Chicago is going to be 16 and 66.
[02:03:31] We'll see.
[02:03:32] We'll see.
[02:03:34] You know what I'm saying?
[02:03:34] But shout out real quick.
[02:03:35] Most clutch player.
[02:03:36] I'm going,
[02:03:37] my head says Jalen Brunson.
[02:03:40] My heart says Kyrie Irving.
[02:03:43] I'm going DeMar DeRozan.
[02:03:45] Ooh,
[02:03:46] that's a good one.
[02:03:47] You know what I'm saying?
[02:03:48] I didn't even have that one written down.
[02:03:50] I just,
[02:03:51] you just said it and it just came to my mind.
[02:03:53] But I put the Kyrie jersey on tonight.
[02:03:55] Like,
[02:03:56] you know what?
[02:03:56] What award can Kyrie win?
[02:03:58] It was like most clutch.
[02:03:59] I'm like,
[02:03:59] you know what?
[02:04:00] That's right up his alley.
[02:04:01] For sure.
[02:04:02] But ladies and gentlemen,
[02:04:04] that is our show.
[02:04:05] He is Mr.
[02:04:06] Logical.
[02:04:07] That is Autumn.
[02:04:09] You know,
[02:04:09] I am your unorthodox statistician.
[02:04:12] We will be back on Friday with picks,
[02:04:14] picks and more picks.
[02:04:16] See you then.
[02:04:17] We love you.
[02:04:22] Peace.
[02:04:23] Peace.
[02:04:23] Peace.
