[00:00:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, feel this, feel this, uh, uh. You are now listening to the sound of Sports Reports As Ordered.
[00:00:13] [SPEAKER_00]: It is I, your resident unorthodox statistician born left so much that thought I was southpaw.
[00:00:20] [SPEAKER_00]: But I'm not alone, because with me, I have the even kill. Born in Texas, raised in VA, representing
[00:00:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Anu Javrus, and he don't care what you say. He said that Jack Nicholson is the best joker.
[00:00:36] [SPEAKER_00]: He is Mr. Logical. Do not bring feelings to a fact fight.
[00:00:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Don't do it.
[00:00:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And do me a favor out there. Like, review, subscribe, share, rate. Do all the free things.
[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Do all the good things. Tonight we're going to talk about some college football, some NFL picks, picks, picks.
[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_00]: NBA preseason started today, so we're going to start a conversation about the NFL.
[00:01:02] [SPEAKER_00]: And then where? Where in the world? While you're out here looking for Carmen San Diego, we're trying to find Devontae Adams.
[00:01:11] [SPEAKER_00]: So let's get to it. Get it off my chest right about now.
[00:01:14] [SPEAKER_00]: So one of the lessons that you learn early in life, even when you're just looking at a dog, is don't shit where you sleep.
[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_00]: And to put a better bow on it, don't shit where you get your paycheck.
[00:01:34] True.
[00:01:34] True.
[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_00]: So we all got opinions about our workplace. We want things to be a little bit better.
[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_00]: But what we cannot do is criticize and shit on our workplace after we lose by 23 points to Navy.
[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_00]: That is not becoming of a Super Bowl champion, Trent Dilfer.
[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_00]: So they lose the game to Navy. He's having a press conference.
[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_00]: He wants to bring his grandson up in the middle of the question, which is cool.
[00:02:01] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's cute. Right. We fell in love with Riley, Kerry and everything.
[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Bring the kids up.
[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. And then he comes out and he says, like, what?
[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_00]: This ain't Alabama.
[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Alabama. Like, well, yeah, because any historian or anybody that has kept up with college football knows that Bear Bryant and his son have kept UAB at bay.
[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_00]: UAB can't prosper because of Alabama politics.
[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_00]: So then to top it off, you know, everybody's upset at him. They're like, yo, you got to apologize.
[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like this is UAB, not Alabama. So then, you know, he doesn't apologize.
[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_00]: But then he gets on the show with the athletic director who I'm just going to put this out there.
[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Hired him. Yeah. You know, and they're talking about volleyball.
[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Trent Dilfer has a daughter that plays volleyball.
[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_00]: So what happens is they're having a conversation about volleyball.
[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_00]: And Trent Dilfer says, well, yeah, if you want to play volleyball at a top notch program and a program that's going to take care of you, you want to go to Louisville.
[00:03:14] [SPEAKER_00]: That's where his daughter goes.
[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, so the athletic director says.
[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Or UAB.
[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, it's like, oh, yeah.
[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_00]: And you AB.
[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_00]: But but Louisville's got it going on.
[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Any jobs opening up in the near future.
[00:03:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Now, you can do this when you're, you know, 11 and five or 12 and four in your first 16 games.
[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_00]: But when you're five and 11, you should probably shut up.
[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Coach football.
[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Be appreciative of the job that you had.
[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Because real quick, let me tell you a little bit about UAB.
[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, back in 2006, UAB tried to hire the one and only Jimbo Fisher.
[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Board of trustees said, no, we can't afford that.
[00:04:02] [SPEAKER_00]: And we ain't going to do it even if you could get boosters to pay half of it.
[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_00]: In 2011, they said, hey, it would be really nice to have an on campus stadium.
[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_00]: And the board of trustees said, we ain't even going to vote on it.
[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, 2014, they voted to close down the football program.
[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_00]: They actually stopped the football program.
[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_00]: I remember that.
[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_00]: And it lasted for about six months because fans and boosters came together, raised $17 million and pledged it over five years.
[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_00]: And said, we going to foot the bill.
[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_00]: So that you can have a so we can have a football program.
[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_00]: So after the fact, you know, they come back, they win the conference title in 2017 back when they were in CUSA.
[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_00]: So this is the question.
[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_00]: We know exactly who and what UAB isn't made of.
[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_00]: What are you made of, Trent Dilfer?
[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Who are you besides the dude that was fortunate enough to hang out with Ray Lewis?
[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes it beats like that.
[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_02]: It's all about who, you know, Trent Dilfer.
[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I think the elite 11 and the cache that he got from being like that quarterback coach.
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_00]: John Gruden style.
[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I think John Gruden use it to further discuss what he really liked.
[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he really liked having young guys in there working off the whiteboard, going over the plays, going to the field.
[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he enjoyed that.
[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think he did that like this grandiose, like idea wrapped in within it.
[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Whereas the elite 11, I think Trent Dilfer really just started like maybe he thought he didn't get the quarterback tutors.
[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_02]: He should have gotten throughout his college career and then into NFL.
[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_02]: And he was like, I'm gonna start this new camp.
[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna have all these guys ready.
[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_02]: But that doesn't make you a good coach.
[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think just I think the name sometimes the name is enough of a draw to get you two years, maybe even three.
[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_02]: But eventually, like the shine, the shine fades off no matter what you're doing.
[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_00]: All right.
[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_00]: So what you got for us?
[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I got a little something about just just team logistics.
[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_02]: And from what I know, like I said, I'm a fan.
[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I made this.
[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I made it had an epiphany last week.
[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I was a little crazy at my son's football game.
[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I was a little extra.
[00:06:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm talking like I knew all the stuff that's going on and then me and another dad.
[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_02]: And then like, you know, they end up pulling out the victory this week.
[00:06:49] [SPEAKER_02]: They weren't so fortunate.
[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_02]: They end up, you know, they end up losing to a tough component opponent.
[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_02]: But I was like, you know what?
[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I am not a coach in the stands.
[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I am not the athletic director that hired coaches.
[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I am not the office coordinator that coordinates the plate packages.
[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't do any of that.
[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm a dad and I'm a fan of the program.
[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_02]: So that's how I'm going to behave in the stands.
[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_02]: With that being said, Miami, I'm not an exec.
[00:07:18] [SPEAKER_02]: But but I said three weeks ago when to a guy that's concussion, that he would probably be ready in two games.
[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I think media pressure had you guys put them on the IR because the IR automatically locks him away from the team for four games.
[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I believe that benefits the team because they can keep the roster spot open.
[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_02]: So essentially they can bring up another player.
[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_02]: So if they want to bring up an eighth offensive lineman or seventh cornerback or even like a third quarterback that they got the practice squad, it gives them that flexibility because he's on the IR.
[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't count against like the game day roster or something like that.
[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_02]: But you knew you didn't have a viable backup.
[00:08:06] [SPEAKER_02]: And you knew you had a quarterback that you were concerned about injury history, even if it was his back like he said it was a couple years ago when people believe it was a concussion or just his size.
[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_02]: The fact that he went to two different body frames between last year and this year.
[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_02]: The fact that he was taking judo classes to learn how to fall to avoid getting.
[00:08:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I thought he was prepping for Ryan Clark.
[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Ryan Clark.
[00:08:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Ryan Clark used to kill people live on TV and like they just let it cool and then they gave him a podcast afterwards.
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_02]: It's crazy.
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_02]: It's crazy what happened.
[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_02]: We depends on the timeline you fall in your life to a probably would have to look in that concussion condition.
[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Would have played the following week back in 96.
[00:08:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I believe a concussion was what made Troy Aikman and Steve Young say, you know what?
[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a wrap.
[00:09:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I believe a Nias Williams came in on a blitz and hit Steve Young.
[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure what happened to Troy Aikman, but there was a bar Arrington.
[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_02]: He came through.
[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, Washington Dallas game.
[00:09:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_02]: So I get that.
[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_02]: We've seen greats in their career with concussions.
[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_02]: But to it probably would have played in 96 97 after that 10 days.
[00:09:24] [SPEAKER_02]: But you know, you put them on IR for four weeks.
[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_02]: You probably shouldn't have you should have waited till he was clear.
[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Give him a couple weeks checked him out again and you wouldn't be sitting because I think he still has to sit.
[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_02]: A whole nother game.
[00:09:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And then they have a bye week mixed in there.
[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's like you already had the bye week.
[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_02]: He has to miss the game after the bye week.
[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_02]: So if you just would have said he's injured, he's on the injury report with a concussion protocol.
[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_02]: You could have had him after the bye week.
[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Which would essentially been four games if you didn't have a bye week.
[00:09:59] [SPEAKER_02]: So now basically he's gone for such an extended period of time that not having a game, but you're going to have like the problems that fester because Tyreek Hill knows before the bye week.
[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_02]: After the bye week.
[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm still dealing with whatever terrible quarterback I had prior to the bye week.
[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he's been under 60 yards his last couple of weeks.
[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Miami, I understand that you're looking out for his best interest.
[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_02]: But in the same sense, I felt like it was a public decision.
[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_02]: They did it so that the public wouldn't come down on them.
[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_02]: These guys are out there gladiators.
[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty sure a lot of them rather die on the shield than have a doctor take him out of the game.
[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_02]: It is the the bravado is the toughness is the moxie that comes along with coaching and managing football players.
[00:10:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't I think they said I think they cave to potential public outcry and put them on IR prematurely.
[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Because like I said, when he got up and walked off the field, I was like, he's gonna be good in two weeks.
[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_02]: He'll be good enough to play in two weeks.
[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_02]: He'll pass whatever test NFL has in place.
[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_02]: He'll have them long term.
[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_02]: If you're an extrapolate one injury to the rest of his life.
[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, we can also you know what that is a terrible idea.
[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_02]: You can get another one.
[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_02]: But as far as a guy who just signed a 200 million dollar plus contract.
[00:11:24] [SPEAKER_02]: He's not gonna want to stop working three weeks after he signed that deal.
[00:11:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Especially considering how hard he's worked his whole life to get to this point.
[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And you think you can let 21 days from the time he signs and then that be the last he plays unlikely.
[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_02]: So I think it could have been wiser about it or they could have really gone out and gotten a quarterback.
[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Jerry Stenum.
[00:11:48] [SPEAKER_02]: They could have gone out and.
[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know some poach someone off someone's practice squad.
[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_02]: That was a viable pass through the ball or they wouldn't got a pro bowler.
[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_02]: True, true.
[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_02]: True.
[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, maybe they should have been in a Mac Jones deal.
[00:12:08] [SPEAKER_02]: In this all season when he can pick it.
[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Can he pick it because Kenny pick is not good.
[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_02]: He's not gonna get any run in Philly.
[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_02]: So I just think they I think they mismanaged it.
[00:12:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And what's what it's gonna cause is as we're gonna get to the Devante Adams trade Tyreek Hill.
[00:12:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how his money is laid out.
[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I know he restructured his deal like this off season.
[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_02]: So I think technically he's getting paid more than any other wide receiver.
[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_02]: But.
[00:12:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if that says for Jalen Waddle.
[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if everybody's gonna want to be there if it's like, listen, if this is what I got to deal with.
[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm out here running routes for cardio in this Miami heat.
[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_02]: I could do that in Kansas City and actually get the ball.
[00:12:53] [SPEAKER_02]: So Miami you mismanaged this.
[00:12:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I understand this is a tentative.
[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think this is one.
[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I think this is a situation that you can't really.
[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Broad brush, you know,
[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_00]: No, it's not about feelings if it was if I think that you get to a point at times where you have to save people from themselves.
[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_00]: So like you said, you know, he's going to want to play players always want to play, you know, but if this was an isolated incident, and he had a concussion.
[00:13:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Then okay, like, hey, it happens.
[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Let's get you healthy.
[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Let's get back out there.
[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_00]: But to my cat.
[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_00]: This is me.
[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what the Dolphins are officially counting.
[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_00]: But in my eyes, he's had at least four concussions over the last two years.
[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_00]: You got four.
[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I guess at least three.
[00:13:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, at least three.
[00:13:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, that accurate.
[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_02]: The the the when he when he sit your ass down, when his knees buckled.
[00:13:47] [SPEAKER_02]: That was one that was a little bit more worrisome than the second one because I think the second one would have given anybody concussion from the way it happened because he had a defensive tackle who was coming around and sacking him.
[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And he had a hold of he was on the ground.
[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_02]: He had a holder to his back.
[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_02]: So when he pulled to it down, it was just straight back to the ground.
[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Josh Allen's getting a concussion in that situation.
[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Patrick Mahomes.
[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_02]: That damn Lawrence Taylor would get a concussion that situation because it was all leverage.
[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And she literally was what he came around and pulled him.
[00:14:26] [SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know if he I think I saw a clip one time of Gus for right when he remember when he head butted the pad.
[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_02]: That didn't look crazy.
[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_02]: But did he had another time you saw my he him and his teammates celebrated.
[00:14:42] [SPEAKER_02]: And it was like a just a basic face mask.
[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_02]: But and he felt like he had concussion.
[00:14:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, once you start getting concussions, you're prone to more concussions and a sprained ankle.
[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Right. And that's why.
[00:14:53] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's why I say we're talking about your head, though, like ankle.
[00:14:58] [SPEAKER_00]: OK, you can sit down, put some ice on yourself and get yourself back to health at some point down the road.
[00:15:03] [SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about your head. You know what I mean?
[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_00]: We've done investigation studies.
[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_00]: We're learning more.
[00:15:08] [SPEAKER_00]: So to your point, yeah, back in 96, he would have played.
[00:15:12] [SPEAKER_00]: But that's because we didn't know what we know now.
[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_00]: That's because we didn't have the knowledge base.
[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_00]: But I can't in my mind, I can't.
[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to say knowingly put you in harm's way because that's what football is in the first place.
[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_00]: But but but, you know, but once but once I got to start thinking about your future because you ain't going to do it.
[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm saying?
[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And I got to start thinking like, hey, not only is to our franchise quarterback, but we talk about how barbaric the sport is.
[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_00]: They don't care about you.
[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_00]: You're just a body.
[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_00]: And so then if a team shows that they care, we will be like, no, I don't be caring about him.
[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Let him back on the field.
[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_02]: So I don't want it to come off as me saying, like, I don't care about his symptoms.
[00:15:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I just knew that I felt I know feelings are really my thing that he was going to pass the concussion protocols.
[00:16:05] [SPEAKER_02]: So if the NFL has established these concussion protocols, independent neurologists outside neurologist, if if they put all of that in place, then live and ride with what they have determined.
[00:16:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I just felt like I felt like when they put them on IR, it was to get ahead of it.
[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_00]: So you mad at right now, you mad at shit right now.
[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_00]: You want Malik neighbors on that field this weekend, huh?
[00:16:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, see, Malik neighbors just had his concussions, the first one.
[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_02]: And it looked bad.
[00:16:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I said, look, he got his head slammed down.
[00:16:42] [SPEAKER_02]: So if he didn't pass the protocols, then no, like you put the protocols in place for a reason.
[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_02]: You put them in place to divorce yourself from how you feel about the decision.
[00:16:54] [SPEAKER_02]: If the protocol says you got to remember the alphabet from E to W and you got to say it backwards and then you got to remember your grandmother's address from 1960.
[00:17:07] [SPEAKER_02]: If that's whatever it is, and you pass that, then you make the determination.
[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And I just felt like they put him on IR because they felt like they were protecting him from himself.
[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, you have a protocol in place.
[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Let that play out.
[00:17:23] [SPEAKER_02]: All right.
[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_02]: And then keep going.
[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_00]: But like I said, we'll revisit it in week 12 when his ass is laying out again.
[00:17:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, don't dive head first into people's thighs.
[00:17:33] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I'm saying?
[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it is a lot of players get concussions every week.
[00:17:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Hence why we have the protocols in place.
[00:17:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I think two was just the Luke Keekly.
[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I know because we're going to be we're going to be short on time tonight because we've got a lot of topics.
[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_02]: We don't want to go too long.
[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_02]: But I remember Luke Keekly when he had his concussion and he was sitting on the field and they were trying to talk to him and he was up and he was like, remember that game was like it was like a third.
[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_02]: It was a standalone game.
[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_02]: And I remember he was like, he was like just breathing real hard.
[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_02]: And I thought like something happened to his ribs.
[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_02]: But in the like the product, everything after that said that he was so confused by what was going on.
[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_02]: It was like a panic attack because the kid like he had no idea what was going on.
[00:18:22] [SPEAKER_02]: He didn't know where he was.
[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_02]: He didn't know why he was there.
[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_02]: So he was panicking like, why do I not know what's going on?
[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking like I know I'm wearing football.
[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I know I'm on the field.
[00:18:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Why do I not know what's going on?
[00:18:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And you can see like the panic in his face.
[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_02]: So like, OK, yeah.
[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, you need more looks.
[00:18:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, all I gotta say is to keep it up, he gonna be joining Christian McCaffrey in the Larry Holmes Gardens retirement home, you know, but Christian.
[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Christian.
[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he done out here.
[00:18:53] [SPEAKER_00]: But so, you know, we brought it up Devontae Adams, you know, the malcontent.
[00:18:57] [SPEAKER_00]: He's been upset for a few years ever since him and that old thing broke up.
[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, now we're trying to figure out where does he go?
[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Where should he go?
[00:19:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Who should want him?
[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_00]: So on and so forth.
[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_00]: So I'll get it started because we already know that we got a disagreement.
[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_02]: So let's get into that.
[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_00]: So this is my thought.
[00:19:19] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm gonna talk to my hometown real quick, by the way, the commanders will see you next week.
[00:19:24] [SPEAKER_00]: But for the time being, I'm gonna talk to you about this.
[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_00]: If you don't go get Devontae Adams, you are committing negligence and malpractice.
[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, you drafted Lamar Jackson almost seven years ago.
[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_00]: And the best wide receiver that he's had in his time is the ghost of Odell Beckham past.
[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_00]: You don't give him Hollywood Brown?
[00:19:49] [SPEAKER_00]: No, I ain't giving him Hollywood Brown.
[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_00]: You remember all those passes he was dropping?
[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like Hollywood, if we're looking at Hollywood Brown now, then yeah, but I'm talking about Hollywood Brown then.
[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_00]: And then, you know, you turn around and then you turn around and you can make an argument maybe for Zay Flowers, who is only in his second year.
[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, like who else have the Ravens? They had Sammy Watkins, who was in and out the lineup.
[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_00]: So when you look at it, you have a two time MVP, one time unanimous.
[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_00]: You went to the AFC championship game last year.
[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_00]: And if you had anything that resembled a wide receiver, you might have been playing San Francisco in the Super Bowl last year.
[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_00]: So now the Chiefs are in the middle of trying to three-peat.
[00:20:36] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, you started off 0-2.
[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_00]: You let your offensive line go.
[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you've righted the ship, found your identity now.
[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Why not push everything in and say, let's go get it?
[00:20:53] [SPEAKER_02]: And maybe it's because the best plays I see Lamar make are off schedule.
[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't view him as an on schedule throw of the football.
[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_02]: That doesn't mean it doesn't make him a good quarterback.
[00:21:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I think Trevor Lawrence is a great on schedule throw.
[00:21:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I think Kurt Cousins is a great on schedule throw.
[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I think guys like Sam Darnold.
[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I think even Aaron Rodgers.
[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_02]: They're great on schedule.
[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Dak is another guy.
[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, listen, the route combination is this.
[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I got a dagger route.
[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_02]: So I got a, you know, I got a nine up the seam.
[00:21:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I got the outside guy running the deep end.
[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I got this guy running the post over the top.
[00:21:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I'm waiting for all this to work.
[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And then I'm gonna get this guy on the drag route.
[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, because all this is gonna be occupied.
[00:21:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Lamar doesn't seem to be a kind of quarterback that works that particular way.
[00:21:48] [SPEAKER_02]: And Devontae Adams seems to be a wide receiver that needs that.
[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Devontae Adams needs to know if I'm running this deep dig route that at the time,
[00:21:58] [SPEAKER_02]: top of this route, when I hit him, when I get the shimmy and I cut it to the middle field,
[00:22:03] [SPEAKER_02]: when I turn, the ball's gonna be there.
[00:22:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think Lamar is gonna get the ball there often enough to where that route or running
[00:22:13] [SPEAKER_02]: any of those kind of routes is gonna make him feel like this is where I made the right decision.
[00:22:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and.
[00:22:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and.
[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm saying?
[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_00]: That's a very good point.
[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_00]: The problem is, is that I don't know what Lamar can do because he's never had a receiver of that capability for us to test this theory.
[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so yes, you're right.
[00:22:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and.
[00:22:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and.
[00:22:34] [SPEAKER_02]: He's more of an improviser.
[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_02]: But they've had to call those routes.
[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_02]: They've called those routes.
[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And I imagine that if Lamar Jackson throws 40 passes in the game, I imagine that Zay Flowers runs the exact route he's supposed to run
[00:22:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I just don't feel as if he makes that throw consistently enough in his 30 or 40, 30 or so pass opportunities.
[00:23:04] [SPEAKER_02]: He just doesn't make, make that kind of throw.
[00:23:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Whereas give me a guy like, like, uh, Odell Beckham.
[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_02]: That was his, that was one of the things with, with Baker.
[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Baker is a playmaker.
[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_02]: He's always looking to make the big play.
[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Or I'm gonna take it with my legs.
[00:23:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Tom Brady will stand in the pocket and wait for Mike Evans, Gronk, Antonio Brown, and these guys to work open because the routes are supposed to do this.
[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_02]: So he's, he bounces there and he slides and he bounces and he gets that off.
[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Baker takes off.
[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Kirk Cousins is another guy stands there, waits.
[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna get, this is the route.
[00:23:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Now it kind of, sometimes it bothers me as a fan.
[00:23:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Come like, yo, just take off and get to seven yards.
[00:23:56] [SPEAKER_02]: But if I'm running my third or fourth 30 yard route.
[00:24:02] [SPEAKER_02]: And you don't throw me the ball again.
[00:24:05] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think of that, I think of that as more coaching than player though.
[00:24:10] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, um, and, and, and, you know, because the coaches have to put like, you, you mentioned it last week, right?
[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Play coaches call the plays players execute.
[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
[00:24:20] [SPEAKER_00]: So, so, so, so you have to put Lamar in the position to do those things, you know?
[00:24:24] [SPEAKER_00]: And they, to me, they haven't had any receivers that demand because, because this Odell Beckham that he had was not that Odell Beckham.
[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Zay Flowers is a rookie smaller dude that's crossing routes and things like that.
[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like Rashad Bateman is probably hurt more than he's actually on the field.
[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_02]: And those guys like the, the touchdown that bait that, uh, Zay Flowers.
[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. Sorry. Yes.
[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_02]: And the touchdown that Zay Flowers scored in the ASU championship game against city was he was matched up with a linebacker from the jump.
[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_00]: From the snap. Yeah.
[00:25:00] [SPEAKER_02]: So that ball is supposed to come out eight, 10 yards because I got a wide receiver.
[00:25:07] [SPEAKER_02]: It matched up with a linebacker, but he ended up getting him the deep shot.
[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause he just kept working away from the linebacker.
[00:25:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Pre-snap.
[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I think Herbert Burrow, Mahone, Josh Allen.
[00:25:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I think they see that pre-snap.
[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think Devante Adams will see something like that pre-snap.
[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, yo, I'm in the slot.
[00:25:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I think they're working a safety over the top and a linebacker underneath.
[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to just sit right here.
[00:25:35] [SPEAKER_02]: You need to see the same thing.
[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_02]: You give me the ball right here.
[00:25:38] [SPEAKER_00]: So from your perspective, you don't think that that's something that.
[00:25:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Devante can mentor Lamar with.
[00:25:46] [SPEAKER_02]: No, because the thing that's going to benefit the Ravens without.
[00:25:52] [SPEAKER_02]: If Devante doesn't get the ball.
[00:25:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Or the wide receivers don't get the ball and Baltimore.
[00:25:58] [SPEAKER_02]: It their drives will look unsuccessful because they have Derek Henry.
[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_02]: They can run the ball either direction.
[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_02]: They have him and they have Lamar.
[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_00]: So where do you think is a good spot for Devante Adams?
[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I think a good spot for Devante Adams.
[00:26:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, I think the Jets because I think him and Aaron Rodgers would just, just figure out.
[00:26:15] [SPEAKER_02]: That's the wash.
[00:26:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:26:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, if I'm a team, I think Atlanta.
[00:26:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I think Atlanta would be good.
[00:26:24] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's not, it's not.
[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not because I'm biased.
[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I'll just, if we just look at what guys are doing.
[00:26:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Atlanta need to get the ball to the guys.
[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_02]: They got Mooney is the number two guy and he's getting, he's getting open a lot.
[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh, if you bring in Devante, that puts him and Drake London as one and two to one, however, they want to slice it up.
[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Now you put Mooney in a slot.
[00:26:50] [SPEAKER_02]: He's been getting open all year off the number two corner.
[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_02]: He'll do damage off the off the nickel corner.
[00:26:58] [SPEAKER_02]: And then you'll have another target.
[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I think you might even be able to move pits in that deal because they don't use pits effectively in the offense anyway.
[00:27:06] [SPEAKER_00]: No, last night was the most yards he had since his rookie year.
[00:27:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_02]: So you, you move pits and then you bring in Devante.
[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty sure they have the cap space cause they're not paying anybody that kind of money on, on the, and as far as skill positions.
[00:27:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Uh, I think people say Washington.
[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't like that either.
[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't want it.
[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_02]: You have a rookie that plays off schedule.
[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I've heard Detroit.
[00:27:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I don't know if the Rams have any, I don't know if they hit that.
[00:27:32] [SPEAKER_02]: That one doesn't work.
[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't like that.
[00:27:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I I've heard Detroit as a, as a mention, but I don't know how that works because obviously,
[00:27:39] [SPEAKER_00]: you just paid Amon Ross St.
[00:27:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Brown and you're trying to get Jamison Williams, like into the, you know, more involved.
[00:27:46] [SPEAKER_00]: I've heard new Orleans with Derek Carr.
[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_00]: That can make sense just because of their relationship.
[00:27:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I still don't like it.
[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I like, I like Derek Carr, New Orleans, Devante Adams more than Lamar Baltimore, Devante Adams, because not just because of their college relationship.
[00:28:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I think she, he in the slot.
[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_02]: He's like, I said, he's already shown to be dynamic as your number two guy.
[00:28:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Mm hmm.
[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Now you put him in the slot.
[00:28:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Where a lot of a and Devante Adams.
[00:28:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty sure.
[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_02]: She, she's probably like, he's probably the faster.
[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_00]: I just don't like the dynamic of, I have an established number one.
[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_00]: So, so like for like Dallas, I've heard Dallas's name, for example, you know, CD lamb is obviously where the buck stops when it comes to wide receivers in Dallas.
[00:28:38] [SPEAKER_00]: So you bring in Devante Adams in there does nothing, but, and you just pay CD lamb as well, but bringing Devante Adams does nothing to me, but cause I don't want to say controversy, but it's just like, this is my team.
[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_02]: This is my spot.
[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_02]: The reason I think, yes, and I understand that piece.
[00:28:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't like the Dallas piece because you're, you're essentially paying two guys to be number ones, but then you can't call plays because you, I don't know how good of an offensive play caller.
[00:29:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Mike, my car, Mike McCarthy is, but I don't know if he's going to be able to tell Devante you're number one 50% of the time CD.
[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_02]: You're number one, the other 50% and we're paying you the two of them $2 million a week or, or like something like that.
[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, if I was looking at three, $3 million a week between the two of them, some, some crazy number like that.
[00:29:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, yeah.
[00:29:36] [SPEAKER_00]: So, so Devante Adams is getting a little longer in the tooth, right?
[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like he's got a few more years before it starts to wind down.
[00:29:44] [SPEAKER_00]: So if it wasn't about trying to find a playoff team, cause I would imagine like, you know, he wants to go to a contender or, you know, those types of things.
[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_00]: If it wasn't about that, I don't even know why I'm about to say this, but I actually wouldn't mind the giants, you know, from the standpoint of put them next to Malik neighbors and say, Daniel Jones, you know, show, show and prove.
[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, we gave you this money.
[00:30:10] [SPEAKER_00]: You've been getting, you've been getting criticized.
[00:30:12] [SPEAKER_00]: It's creative.
[00:30:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I haven't heard anyone say it.
[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I don't agree.
[00:30:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause I, it's the same argument that I have for Lamar.
[00:30:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I, if we watch receiver last year where he was mic'd up and maybe, maybe he said more because he was mic'd up or where he really, he was really frustrated with Jimmy Garoppolo.
[00:30:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Jimmy Garoppolo was a good, he was a good quarterback, but he wasn't like the force multiplier.
[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Like he wasn't like the guy.
[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And then Devante comes in is like, he's, he's the guy.
[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm a dude.
[00:30:54] [SPEAKER_02]: We going to make this work.
[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Daniel Jones is not going to make it like, it's not going to move the needle.
[00:31:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I mean, is it an upgrade from Gardner Minshew?
[00:31:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe not really.
[00:31:06] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it is.
[00:31:07] [SPEAKER_00]: I think, I think, I think people understate and you know, I'm not a Daniel Jones fan, but, but I, but I think people understate how bad the giants have set him up for success.
[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Whether it's the offensive line, whether it's letting Saquon go, whether, you know, it's just now bringing in Malik neighbors.
[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_02]: But have you like, cause I, sorry, sorry to cut you off.
[00:31:30] [SPEAKER_02]: No, go ahead.
[00:31:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I remember last year I was saying he was a top 10 quarterback or two years ago.
[00:31:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:31:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Two years ago.
[00:31:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Tom flies.
[00:31:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[00:31:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yo, we were doing a show for a minute.
[00:31:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel as if he looks exactly the same as he did in that, that meteoric rise that he had to get his deal.
[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like when he was getting this deal, it was like, yo, you're up and coming.
[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like a rapper.
[00:31:57] [SPEAKER_02]: You hear, you hear his barge like, yo, okay, this dude's got next.
[00:32:01] [SPEAKER_02]: He puts out the album.
[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_02]: It's 12 tracks.
[00:32:03] [SPEAKER_02]: It's incredible.
[00:32:04] [SPEAKER_02]: But now we signed him to the big deal.
[00:32:06] [SPEAKER_02]: We put them on tours.
[00:32:08] [SPEAKER_02]: We sent him all these places.
[00:32:09] [SPEAKER_02]: We put them on TV.
[00:32:10] [SPEAKER_02]: And now two years later, you know what I'm getting a watered down version.
[00:32:15] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what?
[00:32:16] [SPEAKER_02]: The guy I signed.
[00:32:17] [SPEAKER_00]: You are real foul right now.
[00:32:19] [SPEAKER_00]: You are real foul right now.
[00:32:21] [SPEAKER_00]: How is that?
[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Cause I know you represent in Jersey, but there's no need to talk about fabulous that way.
[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Cut it out.
[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_00]: No reason to talk about FADO like that.
[00:32:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Brooklyn best.
[00:32:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I, uh, yeah.
[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_02]: But like I said, like dang, that's what it looks like with Daniel Jones.
[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like, um, who else got a deal recently?
[00:32:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And it was a lot of these quarterbacks.
[00:32:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like they have.
[00:32:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I think that maybe, maybe Daniel Adams.
[00:32:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't, I can't, I can't see him going to a guy that's still trying to win his own locker room.
[00:32:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe.
[00:32:53] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's why I said, if it wasn't for, cause I'm sure he wants to go to a contender.
[00:32:56] [SPEAKER_00]: If you take all that out and just think of teams that he could go to like, but, but, you know, we'll, we'll pick that up, you know, at another point, you know, so of course it's week five.
[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_00]: So that means picks, picks, picks, picks, picks.
[00:33:08] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know what I'm saying?
[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_00]: But before we get to the picks, we're going to let Mr. Logical tell us about them dirty birds.
[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Yo.
[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, so I'm gonna keep it a hundred.
[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Shout out to, uh, shout out to my lady reach.
[00:33:24] [SPEAKER_02]: She got us tickets to pink.
[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, the second time this year, we've gone see pink perform first time.
[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_02]: We're at Philly.
[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Then we went to MetLife last night.
[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Let's keep her away from Garth Brooks.
[00:33:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Incredible show.
[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I still got the wristband on pink.
[00:33:43] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just, she's like an athlete of months amongst artists.
[00:33:47] [SPEAKER_02]: She was literally doing like the silks with no harness.
[00:33:50] [SPEAKER_02]: And then she did the harness and when she's like flying around the stadium, like Tinkerbell was crazy.
[00:33:56] [SPEAKER_02]: But I was also checking in on the Falcons game on my phone in between like costume changes and stuff like that.
[00:34:03] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, like I still, I still got to keep it on.
[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I liked my team.
[00:34:06] [SPEAKER_02]: And as we were driving up to the stadium, she was like, I'm so happy.
[00:34:10] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I know there's football on tonight.
[00:34:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And she calls them the Atlantic.
[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_02]: She didn't call them Atlanta Falcons.
[00:34:16] [SPEAKER_02]: And she's like, I know the Atlantic's aren't playing tonight.
[00:34:18] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, yeah, they are.
[00:34:21] [SPEAKER_02]: She's like, what?
[00:34:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, listen, I'm not going to not go to a concert to watch football games.
[00:34:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I can watch on my phone or get updates.
[00:34:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, Michael gave me updates if it goes sideways.
[00:34:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I liked it.
[00:34:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And this morning I was thinking like, oh yeah, whatever, you know, they got the winning overtime.
[00:34:37] [SPEAKER_02]: It was cool.
[00:34:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I would like to see a dominant win.
[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_02]: But as of right now, I'll take the outcome of the players that we brought in.
[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_02]: So you brought in Jesse Bates to create defensive opportunities as far as turnovers or just, you know, cut off a certain part of the field.
[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_02]: He punched out a couple of balls last night.
[00:35:06] [SPEAKER_02]: One was recovered.
[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_02]: One was recovered by Tampa Bay.
[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_02]: I think by Mike Evans, he punched out of Chris Godwin's hand.
[00:35:11] [SPEAKER_02]: And then he punched the other one out of the running back.
[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I keep forgetting his name.
[00:35:15] [SPEAKER_02]: He's your guy.
[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_02]: The running back for number seven.
[00:35:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Bucky, uh, Bucky Irving.
[00:35:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:35:24] [SPEAKER_02]: So he punched the ball.
[00:35:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:35:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Even though Atlanta still gave the ball back, it changed the dynamic when he punched it out.
[00:35:31] [SPEAKER_02]: He got it back.
[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_02]: And then went from the fourth and fifth.
[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Definitely the momentum.
[00:35:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:35:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:35:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Momentum change.
[00:35:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm still like, I like big girl.
[00:35:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I like, I like the whole thing.
[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, I'm still upset about the delay of game penalty.
[00:35:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause we see more.
[00:35:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[00:35:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[00:35:46] [SPEAKER_02]: He more correct because the ref was standing over the ball as if there was like,
[00:35:52] [SPEAKER_02]: like there was a holdup or something.
[00:35:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:35:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_02]: So he was standing over the ball.
[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_02]: So when they do the flag, I, you know, I was reading, he's like,
[00:35:59] [SPEAKER_02]: you stand over the ball.
[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_02]: By the way, young way coups still knocked it through the overtime play.
[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Um, I don't want to go out on the limb, but like I'm picking them just because the three
[00:36:11] [SPEAKER_02]: wins all require heroic performances at the end of the game, uh, from the quarterback.
[00:36:16] [SPEAKER_02]: That shouldn't be a thing you, you rest on.
[00:36:19] [SPEAKER_02]: I think the NFC South is looking better than we expected.
[00:36:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I know preseason.
[00:36:26] [SPEAKER_02]: If you pull any of these podcasts, especially these podcasts that are watching our show
[00:36:31] [SPEAKER_02]: and sticking our stuff, piss in my pocket and some of these rain and it's my property.
[00:36:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Property Mike said it the other day.
[00:36:40] [SPEAKER_02]: We got all these people on these podcasts.
[00:36:42] [SPEAKER_02]: I know YouTube is sending it.
[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Stop taking our shit.
[00:36:45] [SPEAKER_02]: What I giving us credit, but I digress.
[00:36:48] [SPEAKER_02]: So you watch all across all these podcasts and I'm pretty sure the NFC East preseason was
[00:36:54] [SPEAKER_02]: probably going to expect it to look better than the NFC South.
[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's not shaped up that way.
[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Granted, you know, I mean, y'all got Carolina, bro.
[00:37:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Carolina went into Vegas and they got a nice little dub.
[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_02]: They records the same as Cincinnati and people got Cincinnati in the AFC championship game.
[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, speaking of Cincinnati, I'm glad you brought that up.
[00:37:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Perfect.
[00:37:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Perfect segue.
[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, everywhere I look just about people are picking Cincinnati to beat Baltimore this weekend.
[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Based off of like they got like Baltimore's game plan.
[00:37:28] [SPEAKER_00]: No, I think what it is.
[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, you know, you and LV in the red zone for you sickos out there with me, you know, 3121 Syracuse with five minutes left in the third quarter.
[00:37:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I think that people get used to the talking points, you know, oh, Joe Burrow always starts slow. Cincinnati always starts slow.
[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_00]: So now it's, oh, we're out of the early part.
[00:37:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Now it's time for Cincinnati to wake up.
[00:37:54] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think people are expecting Cincinnati to just galvanize and go on a run.
[00:37:59] [SPEAKER_00]: But the problem is they aren't any good.
[00:38:03] [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm picking the Ravens.
[00:38:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll take the Ravens.
[00:38:08] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm picking the Ravens.
[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_00]: They average in 220 yards on the ground.
[00:38:13] [SPEAKER_00]: No one else in the NFL is averaging 170 more than 175.
[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm picking the Ravens because what they what they what they do well Cincinnati can't stop.
[00:38:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I think running the ball is probably running the ball offensive line controlling on a scrimmage is probably like if I was ever a coach at any level.
[00:38:31] [SPEAKER_02]: That would be the thing.
[00:38:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't even need a good.
[00:38:33] [SPEAKER_02]: You wouldn't even need a great quarterback if you can control on a scrimmage.
[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see you next week, Baltimore.
[00:38:39] [SPEAKER_00]: And by we I mean the Commodores, you know, the commanders playing host to the Sean Watson in the Cleveland Browns.
[00:38:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Now, if this was two, three years ago, I would have said this is the week the Browns get right.
[00:38:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Because if you remember last year, the Sean Watson came back, you know, from injury and beat us.
[00:39:01] [SPEAKER_00]: And then Ron Rivera said, oh, I didn't notice when was going to eliminate us from the playoffs because we had the tie.
[00:39:07] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, so so as I look at this, there's that part of my brain that's like, oh, this will be so Washington to lose this game to the Browns.
[00:39:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Myles Garrett coming in, manhandling a rookie that runs way too much.
[00:39:22] [SPEAKER_00]: But I think I'm going to keep the Commodores.
[00:39:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to take the Commodores.
[00:39:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I like Jay.
[00:39:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I like I haven't I've seen he took the one hit in preseason right in front of Dan Quinn.
[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Dan Quinn was like, I would have taken out of the game.
[00:39:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, like that that I'm like a disciplinary thing.
[00:39:42] [SPEAKER_02]: But like, yeah, now we could I've seen enough.
[00:39:46] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like when you gambling, we at the crap table and the dude at the under the table got a bad attitude.
[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, you know what? I've seen enough.
[00:39:54] [SPEAKER_02]: We go get these chips up and go to another table like this guy's his vibe is off.
[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I seen him take that hit.
[00:40:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, yeah, you got to go.
[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Big turn around.
[00:40:02] [SPEAKER_02]: The funny thing is I was thinking about this all week.
[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_02]: So I saw Cleveland versus Washington.
[00:40:06] [SPEAKER_02]: It was like.
[00:40:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Washington has the quarterback that Cleveland thought they were getting like the dynamic guy with his legs a lot like Lamar.
[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Like it's not.
[00:40:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Washington's got Lamar.
[00:40:21] [SPEAKER_00]: They got to play Lamar three times this year.
[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:40:24] [SPEAKER_02]: So.
[00:40:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And.
[00:40:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna go Washington.
[00:40:30] [SPEAKER_02]: OK, just like I said.
[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_02]: You have the stats.
[00:40:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I have the the team work.
[00:40:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I think I think I think I think they're just enjoying the game.
[00:40:40] [SPEAKER_02]: It is a game.
[00:40:41] [SPEAKER_02]: We're talking about it very seriously.
[00:40:43] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm drinking fermented potatoes and cranberry juice.
[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Very serious conversation.
[00:40:47] [SPEAKER_02]: But it's a game ultimately.
[00:40:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, let's disagree real quick.
[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Here we go.
[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Because I don't know why.
[00:40:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I got the sneaky feeling.
[00:40:55] [SPEAKER_02]: OK.
[00:40:56] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I had the feeling that the Mets, the Metropolitans were going to win the other day.
[00:41:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Mm hmm.
[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_00]: I got a weird feeling about the Jetropolitans going to London and beating on the Vikings, taking the given the Vikings their first L.
[00:41:11] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I think that even though I can't stand Aaron Rodgers with almost all of my beam.
[00:41:19] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I trust that there's a game.
[00:41:22] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I trust that there's a game in there like, you know, like these old time quarterbacks like, you know, when Tom Brady was old, he had that game in him like one of them.
[00:41:30] [SPEAKER_00]: He had one of them.
[00:41:32] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think he was throwing 5,000 yards and 40 touchdowns.
[00:41:37] [SPEAKER_00]: So but I think Brian Flores is going to blitz, blitz, blitz, blitz one times to one time too many.
[00:41:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I think that the Jets are going to get the running game going and I got them pulling the upset.
[00:41:48] [SPEAKER_02]: If the Jets drop, if the Jets wide receivers drop passes in the first quarter, it's a wrap for the rest of the game.
[00:41:58] [SPEAKER_02]: When you deployed to Qatar back in the day, did you stop in Europe or did you guys get straight through?
[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_00]: We went to Ramstein.
[00:42:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:42:05] [SPEAKER_02]: How long do you stay in Ramstein?
[00:42:07] [SPEAKER_00]: For a day.
[00:42:08] [SPEAKER_02]: For a day.
[00:42:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Did you guys go out and like do anything?
[00:42:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Of course we went to K-Town.
[00:42:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Went to K-Town, took some pictures and hung out.
[00:42:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Of course.
[00:42:16] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a short little trip, right?
[00:42:18] [SPEAKER_02]: So you got a little nice little trip.
[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_02]: You're with the group of people you like.
[00:42:21] [SPEAKER_02]: You're like, oh, we got some downtime.
[00:42:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's go take some pictures.
[00:42:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Germany's nice.
[00:42:25] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it was probably like, cause you deployed around the same time I did like January-ish.
[00:42:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh three.
[00:42:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:42:30] [SPEAKER_02]: So the wet, it was cold.
[00:42:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause I was stationary.
[00:42:32] [SPEAKER_02]: It was nice and cold, but it was a very beautiful country.
[00:42:36] [SPEAKER_02]: You guys all went out and hung out.
[00:42:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I bet you the Jets players did not land in London and go out and enjoy London together
[00:42:46] [SPEAKER_02]: in their downtime.
[00:42:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think they're as conjoined as they need to be late in the season.
[00:42:52] [SPEAKER_02]: And like I said, if Garrett Wilson runs the wrong route, which is inevitable because like
[00:42:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I said we had that overhead shot of the Tampa two look or like the, he gave like a zero,
[00:43:05] [SPEAKER_02]: like a cover zero look.
[00:43:07] [SPEAKER_02]: And then on the snap of the ball, everyone bailed out and it was Tampa two, which is like
[00:43:13] [SPEAKER_02]: cover zero is man to man.
[00:43:15] [SPEAKER_02]: These guys are blitzing.
[00:43:16] [SPEAKER_02]: It's all hot.
[00:43:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I got to get the ball out.
[00:43:18] [SPEAKER_02]: And then the ball gets snapped and both safeties get deep.
[00:43:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Guys get to the flats.
[00:43:22] [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, so DJ, we younger let you take a note.
[00:43:28] [SPEAKER_02]: I guarantee you that the, the jets early in the game will miss the jets or mainly Aaron
[00:43:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Rogers and why receiver he believes should be open.
[00:43:40] [SPEAKER_02]: If he ran this route, it's going to miss twice on the first drive, second drive, and
[00:43:46] [SPEAKER_02]: they're going to be completely discombobulated for the rest of the game.
[00:43:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know if I'm allowed to say this because I know somebody at ESPN got in trouble
[00:43:54] [SPEAKER_00]: for it a couple of years ago, but I'm just going to roll with it.
[00:43:57] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, saying the Vikings have been showing some chinks in their armor, you know, from
[00:44:01] [SPEAKER_00]: the standpoint of, you know, like we talked about the 49er game where they needed the arm
[00:44:06] [SPEAKER_00]: again of turnovers and block punts, 97 yard touchdown passes to get out of there by six
[00:44:13] [SPEAKER_00]: at home.
[00:44:13] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, you know, last week, you know, against Jordan love, you know, they blew that.
[00:44:18] [SPEAKER_00]: They almost blew that game.
[00:44:19] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, they gave up the 29 points.
[00:44:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Jordan love let the furious come back green.
[00:44:24] [SPEAKER_00]: They missed two field goals or else they would have lost that game.
[00:44:27] [SPEAKER_02]: So what do you need?
[00:44:29] [SPEAKER_02]: What do you need from a quarterback to get players to believe you can come back?
[00:44:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And does Aaron Rodgers have that tree?
[00:44:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I think Aaron Rodgers has front runner tree.
[00:44:42] [SPEAKER_00]: He he he has credibility of he's a Super Bowl champion, even though that was many, many,
[00:44:49] [SPEAKER_00]: many moons ago.
[00:44:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Those dudes were seven years old.
[00:44:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, he still can go like this and they got to respect it.
[00:44:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Regardless of how long ago it was, they were.
[00:44:57] [SPEAKER_00]: They got to respect that.
[00:44:58] [SPEAKER_00]: None of these dudes.
[00:44:59] [SPEAKER_00]: That was 2010.
[00:45:00] [SPEAKER_00]: It was 2010.
[00:45:01] [SPEAKER_00]: It was 2010.
[00:45:02] [SPEAKER_00]: I want to say.
[00:45:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:45:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[00:45:03] [SPEAKER_02]: So that's 14 years ago.
[00:45:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Most of those guys he's throwing the ball to were seven and nine years old at the time
[00:45:10] [SPEAKER_02]: of that.
[00:45:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Like Aaron Rodgers.
[00:45:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I know I bang on Aaron Rodgers a lot.
[00:45:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And I know we, like I said, we'll keep it.
[00:45:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I don't like them.
[00:45:19] [SPEAKER_00]: So keep going.
[00:45:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying, but anyway, we'll move on.
[00:45:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I like I said, I just think I just think a bad route because you're going.
[00:45:27] [SPEAKER_02]: You're going.
[00:45:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he he's going to see blind for Brian Flores defense and say, okay, you're not coming.
[00:45:33] [SPEAKER_02]: You're not coming.
[00:45:34] [SPEAKER_02]: I know what this look is.
[00:45:35] [SPEAKER_02]: And he's going to look over at Lazard or Garrett Wilson with his sleeves looking like Sam Bradford
[00:45:43] [SPEAKER_02]: and Mike Williams, who might be there might be injured, who knows, and he's going to expect them to all do three different things
[00:45:51] [SPEAKER_02]: where he can choose where I want to put the ball.
[00:45:54] [SPEAKER_02]: And two of them aren't going to do it.
[00:45:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, it would help if he didn't get hit 14 times in sack five like he did last week.
[00:46:00] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, that's a start to but I like it.
[00:46:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I like I like how you go on the edge.
[00:46:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Panthers or Bears.
[00:46:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I want to pick Carolina so bad, but I just can't do it.
[00:46:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I want to pick at they burn me last week.
[00:46:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like, you know, but the but the Bears have not given up to this offenses, but though, hey, they came together last week, you know, said, but the Bears have not.
[00:46:27] [SPEAKER_02]: They didn't want to like three catches for 27 yards, but yeah, what's his name?
[00:46:31] [SPEAKER_00]: DeAndre Swift led in receiving and rushing, but the Bears have not given up 21 points since week 11 last year.
[00:46:38] [SPEAKER_00]: The Panthers are giving up a league worst 32.3 points per game.
[00:46:43] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll take Chicago.
[00:46:45] [SPEAKER_00]: All right.
[00:46:45] [SPEAKER_00]: So, so then for the ugliest game of the week, you got one team averaging 11.3 points a game and have not held a lead at all this season.
[00:46:55] [SPEAKER_00]: You got another team averaging 13 points per game.
[00:46:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I know who it is.
[00:46:59] [SPEAKER_00]: So who you got?
[00:47:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll take New England.
[00:47:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm gonna take New England too.
[00:47:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm taking New England too.
[00:47:06] [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, that is a real thing in the last two.
[00:47:09] [SPEAKER_00]: In the last two weeks, Miami has been outscored 55 to 15.
[00:47:13] [SPEAKER_00]: They haven't had a lead all year.
[00:47:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Correct?
[00:47:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Correct.
[00:47:16] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so Mr.
[00:47:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Lodge for you and LV.
[00:47:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, what do we got here?
[00:47:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Is that a touchdown?
[00:47:22] [SPEAKER_00]: What we got here?
[00:47:24] [SPEAKER_00]: All right.
[00:47:24] [SPEAKER_00]: So, um, again, the Indianapolis Colts Colts break the streak.
[00:47:30] [SPEAKER_00]: They have not won in Jacksonville since 2014.
[00:47:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Is this the year they get it done?
[00:47:38] [SPEAKER_02]: How was the hip?
[00:47:40] [SPEAKER_00]: We don't know.
[00:47:41] [SPEAKER_00]: He's questionable, but Jonathan Taylor is out.
[00:47:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it was a block punt.
[00:47:45] [SPEAKER_00]: UNLV about to tie the game.
[00:47:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna take Jacksonville.
[00:47:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I like Joe Flacco, but there's only so much dudes my age can do in the NFL.
[00:47:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm taking Jacksonville as well.
[00:47:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, so then you got nobody circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills.
[00:48:01] [SPEAKER_00]: They're coming off getting that ass smacked around my hometown this past Sunday.
[00:48:08] [SPEAKER_00]: As I told Mr. Logical was gonna happen.
[00:48:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, you know, got Von Miller suspended.
[00:48:14] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, got more injuries.
[00:48:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Can Buffalo go into Houston and get a win?
[00:48:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm betting whatever the over is on Nico Collins touchdowns.
[00:48:27] [SPEAKER_02]: So I'll take Houston.
[00:48:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Um, I was gonna take Buffalo until I saw that Shakir and Ed Oliver out.
[00:48:38] [SPEAKER_00]: So once they were out, I was out.
[00:48:41] [SPEAKER_02]: You got a suspended defensive end.
[00:48:44] [SPEAKER_02]: You got a suspended defensive.
[00:48:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:48:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:48:49] [SPEAKER_02]: They were why was he running these?
[00:48:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's only so much Josh Allen can do in the game that only two five cares about.
[00:48:56] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm taking the Broncos to kick the Raiders ass.
[00:49:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, the Raiders have nothing.
[00:49:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[00:49:02] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not a Sean Payton guy.
[00:49:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I thought we would disagree on that.
[00:49:06] [SPEAKER_00]: But the Raiders have the Raiders.
[00:49:08] [SPEAKER_02]: The Raiders.
[00:49:09] [SPEAKER_02]: I saw something and like I rarely comment on random Facebook posts, but somebody I commented
[00:49:15] [SPEAKER_02]: under the picture that Antonio Pierce or an intern or whoever runs the Raiders Instagram account, like the rumors about the
[00:49:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Devontae playing his last game.
[00:49:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:49:28] [SPEAKER_02]: And out in Las Vegas.
[00:49:30] [SPEAKER_02]: And the guys comment was this is why you don't let the players pick the coach.
[00:49:36] [SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, that's so I'm like, that's so on point.
[00:49:40] [SPEAKER_02]: I just got to agree and not add anything to it.
[00:49:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:49:44] [SPEAKER_00]: But also real quick, I forgot to say since 2020, Buffalo is 14 and four coming off of a loss, but the Raiders have won eight straight against Denver, you know, so for the most part, I kind of just threw it in the air and took whoever was the home team.
[00:49:59] [SPEAKER_00]: But I got my eye on it because, you know, is this because Devontae Adams is out? Is this going to be is this going to be the Brock Bowers game where he becomes Travis Kelsey?
[00:50:12] [SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see how that goes.
[00:50:14] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there was defense held the vaunted jets offense to nine points at home and it's raining.
[00:50:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I get it.
[00:50:20] [SPEAKER_02]: But I live in Jersey.
[00:50:21] [SPEAKER_02]: The rain wasn't that bad.
[00:50:24] [SPEAKER_02]: It was like I didn't even know it like I didn't even know it was raining on top of the game.
[00:50:28] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, it was raining.
[00:50:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Like it wasn't like that bad.
[00:50:32] [SPEAKER_00]: How far are you from East Rutherford?
[00:50:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Like 50 minutes.
[00:50:36] [SPEAKER_00]: OK.
[00:50:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:50:37] [SPEAKER_02]: We got the same weather.
[00:50:38] [SPEAKER_02]: It's all right.
[00:50:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Because the last 12 miles is all traffic.
[00:50:42] [SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
[00:50:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Super.
[00:50:44] [SPEAKER_02]: It was like 65 degrees.
[00:50:46] [SPEAKER_02]: It was warm.
[00:50:47] [SPEAKER_02]: What was like the warming wet?
[00:50:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Just how I like it.
[00:50:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm boss.
[00:50:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm boss.
[00:50:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:50:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I ain't got to pause that one.
[00:50:54] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, we got Green Bay going out the sofa, you know, Matt Stafford against a team that he's played against many times in his career.
[00:51:04] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, what do you got?
[00:51:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I keep picking the Rams and I'm a stop.
[00:51:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I said, that's the only thing I keep picking them.
[00:51:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I keep thinking they're going to because I was so bad on them and so down on them last year.
[00:51:17] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm kind of giving them like pity picks.
[00:51:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's like it's not helping me.
[00:51:20] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not helping my my my pick ratio.
[00:51:24] [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm going with Green Bay.
[00:51:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Jordan Love coming off last week, a tougher defense, still putting up 29 points, even with the three picks still getting four touchdowns.
[00:51:36] [SPEAKER_02]: He's probably he's probably still kind of hobbled from his, you know, week one injury.
[00:51:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm just I'm gonna go to Green Bay and Matt LaFleur with with weapons.
[00:51:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm going with a girl.
[00:51:47] [SPEAKER_00]: They have forced 12 turnovers so far this year.
[00:51:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Xavier McKinney leads the lead in picks.
[00:51:53] [SPEAKER_00]: The Rams are still piling up injuries.
[00:51:56] [SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, at this stage, this game is going to be welcome to the OK Corral, you know, so I could see something along the lines of a 41 31 type game.
[00:52:06] [SPEAKER_00]: I think we're both picking Seattle.
[00:52:08] [SPEAKER_00]: No Malik neighbors for the Giants.
[00:52:10] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, go ahead.
[00:52:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Give me the 12th man.
[00:52:14] [SPEAKER_00]: We're probably both picking San Francisco over Arizona.
[00:52:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, hold on there player.
[00:52:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, not so fast, my friend.
[00:52:20] [SPEAKER_02]: I had a couple of people influence me.
[00:52:23] [SPEAKER_02]: OK.
[00:52:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think I'm gonna go with Arizona.
[00:52:27] [SPEAKER_02]: A stat that I heard.
[00:52:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Shout out to Eric Mangini.
[00:52:29] [SPEAKER_02]: First things first.
[00:52:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Arizona's lost their games, but they're the team that they lost to.
[00:52:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Those teams won 12 games.
[00:52:38] [SPEAKER_02]: So they're losing a good teams.
[00:52:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[00:52:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Kyler Murray's playing better than he has before.
[00:52:44] [SPEAKER_02]: And him and Marvin Harrison's connected for four touchdowns last three games.
[00:52:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:52:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Buffalo, Washington and Detroit for the losses.
[00:52:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I think I think pretty.
[00:52:56] [SPEAKER_02]: This watching Kirk Cousins last night and then Baker Mayfield, I think the quarterbacks are in their groove alive.
[00:53:06] [SPEAKER_02]: They, you know, like when they used to all play for preseason games.
[00:53:09] [SPEAKER_02]: You had those four weeks.
[00:53:10] [SPEAKER_02]: They played each one of those preseason games and some form or fashion, either a quarter, a half.
[00:53:18] [SPEAKER_02]: They they I remember back there.
[00:53:21] [SPEAKER_02]: They play a court.
[00:53:21] [SPEAKER_02]: They play a full quarter week one.
[00:53:23] [SPEAKER_02]: They play a half probably week two.
[00:53:26] [SPEAKER_02]: They play a half and maybe a little into the third quarter.
[00:53:31] [SPEAKER_02]: And then the fourth week they set out.
[00:53:33] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, that was like traditionally like the format for your starters, your quarterbacks.
[00:53:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Who treats the third game of preseason like it's bullshit?
[00:53:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Bullshit.
[00:53:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:53:44] [SPEAKER_02]: So now they've gotten these four games out of their way.
[00:53:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Guys are throwing the ball crazy because we talked about the first couple of weeks is on like 39 touchdowns.
[00:53:52] [SPEAKER_02]: And it was 63 touchdowns.
[00:53:54] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think the first two weeks, maybe one or two guys had over 300 yards passing last week.
[00:53:59] [SPEAKER_02]: We saw Justin Fields go over 300.
[00:54:01] [SPEAKER_02]: So somehow I think I think I think it's coming around.
[00:54:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I think guys are fiddling out and that and teams who have big weapons are figuring out how to get in the ball.
[00:54:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Atlanta with Cal pits.
[00:54:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Drake London had 12 catches.
[00:54:17] [SPEAKER_00]: I think teams are figuring out Arizona can reverse their fortune like the Falcons did because coming into the
[00:54:22] [SPEAKER_00]: last night the Falcons were 10 for 38 on third down.
[00:54:25] [SPEAKER_00]: They went six for 14 last night.
[00:54:27] [SPEAKER_00]: The last two weeks Arizona's defense has has given up 15 of 24 third down opportunities.
[00:54:35] [SPEAKER_00]: So maybe they can reverse that.
[00:54:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Jordan Mason second in the NFL and rushing.
[00:54:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, me at least you only have to worry about him.
[00:54:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:54:45] [SPEAKER_02]: McCaffrey's I hear would Kevin Durant 19 Achilles.
[00:54:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he done get him out of here.
[00:54:52] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so I was very prepared.
[00:54:55] [SPEAKER_00]: We had this discussion is light argument.
[00:54:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Last week, I was prepared to come in here and say that Dallas is going to go into Pittsburgh and win.
[00:55:04] [SPEAKER_00]: But then the injuries are piling up, you know, no Michael Parsons potentially, you know, Lawrence is out.
[00:55:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Brandon cooks is out in the it just goes on and on and on.
[00:55:15] [SPEAKER_00]: But the Steelers are down just as many offensive linemen as the Cowboys are down players.
[00:55:23] [SPEAKER_00]: So you know what?
[00:55:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Fine.
[00:55:24] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll just pick the Cowboys anyway.
[00:55:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Cowboys on a row Sunday night.
[00:55:31] [SPEAKER_00]: No pressure.
[00:55:33] [SPEAKER_02]: TJ white plan.
[00:55:35] [SPEAKER_00]: He is.
[00:55:36] [SPEAKER_02]: Here we go.
[00:55:38] [SPEAKER_00]: All right.
[00:55:38] [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, we disagreed there.
[00:55:40] [SPEAKER_00]: And then Monday night.
[00:55:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Then Monday night.
[00:55:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I almost picked.
[00:55:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I almost picked the Saints.
[00:55:45] [SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to pick the Saints because Kansas City, just like I talk about the Texans has not really played a complete game yet.
[00:55:53] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, but it's that arrowhead.
[00:55:56] [SPEAKER_00]: It's Monday night football.
[00:55:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna just roll with the champs.
[00:56:00] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what?
[00:56:04] [SPEAKER_02]: As a friend of the show, like I said, Millville is an hour from here.
[00:56:11] [SPEAKER_02]: So Isaiah Pacheco will continue healing.
[00:56:14] [SPEAKER_02]: He's connected to a good friend of mine, like probably one of my best friends ever.
[00:56:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And I always pick against them.
[00:56:21] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, I want to tell him to go tell him to watch the show.
[00:56:24] [SPEAKER_02]: But so often I pick against Kansas City.
[00:56:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I pick against the entire playoff run into the Super Bowl.
[00:56:32] [SPEAKER_02]: So I want to pick Kansas City just because it's at home.
[00:56:39] [SPEAKER_02]: But Mahomes keeps making these throws.
[00:56:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Bold headed plays.
[00:56:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, dog, he threw the game against Cincinnati.
[00:56:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:56:51] [SPEAKER_02]: The Baltimore game, the Cincinnati game, the Atlanta game.
[00:56:58] [SPEAKER_02]: And even in the Rams game.
[00:57:02] [SPEAKER_02]: The pick he threw to Roquan Smith.
[00:57:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Roquan Smith was not even waiting.
[00:57:07] [SPEAKER_02]: He wasn't even trying to defend anyone.
[00:57:09] [SPEAKER_02]: The ball just hit him in the chest.
[00:57:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Cincinnati, they caught three.
[00:57:15] [SPEAKER_02]: One got called back for holding.
[00:57:17] [SPEAKER_02]: But both of those were bad.
[00:57:18] [SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't like the guy made a great play.
[00:57:21] [SPEAKER_02]: The Atlanta one, Justin Simmons.
[00:57:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, there was the one.
[00:57:24] [SPEAKER_02]: The one handed one.
[00:57:26] [SPEAKER_02]: But the one handed one is because he was under thrown.
[00:57:29] [SPEAKER_02]: He was underneath.
[00:57:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Worthy was over top.
[00:57:32] [SPEAKER_02]: And he lobbed it.
[00:57:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And like he caught it here.
[00:57:36] [SPEAKER_02]: The ball should have been five to 10 yards ahead of that because
[00:57:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Worthy had him beat.
[00:57:43] [SPEAKER_02]: The one in Atlanta, he threw.
[00:57:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Like Simmons came across.
[00:57:47] [SPEAKER_02]: So it was like, okay, maybe he just didn't see him hiding over here.
[00:57:51] [SPEAKER_02]: And then he came across.
[00:57:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[00:57:53] [SPEAKER_02]: But then in the Chargers game, he threw it right to him.
[00:57:56] [SPEAKER_02]: So it was like, if he's going to throw another pass right to a New Orleans guy, I just feel like he will.
[00:58:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[00:58:09] [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm going to take New Orleans reluctantly.
[00:58:12] [SPEAKER_02]: But like I said, I just think that I think he's going to throw him the ball.
[00:58:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he's going to throw New Orleans the ball once one or two, too many times.
[00:58:19] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just weird.
[00:58:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Until they make a trade for wide receiver.
[00:58:22] [SPEAKER_02]: That's what I'm thinking.
[00:58:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[00:58:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[00:58:25] [SPEAKER_00]: So then, of course, you know, we'll take it to the other side real quick.
[00:58:28] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, saying not much to get to this week.
[00:58:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Next week is the big week.
[00:58:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Ohio State at Oregon.
[00:58:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Penn State at USC.
[00:58:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Texas and Oklahoma in the Red River shootout.
[00:58:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not calling it that other thing.
[00:58:41] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so we got some games, some matchups next week.
[00:58:45] [SPEAKER_00]: So upset alert.
[00:58:46] [SPEAKER_00]: It's that time.
[00:58:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Upset alert.
[00:58:47] [SPEAKER_00]: So here we go.
[00:58:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Here we go.
[00:58:50] [SPEAKER_00]: So upset alert.
[00:58:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Hold on.
[00:58:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Check it out.
[00:58:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm actually going to make these bets as soon as you're up the phone.
[00:58:54] [SPEAKER_02]: I know I shouldn't because I've been gambling.
[00:58:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I've been waiting.
[00:58:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I've been my money myself.
[00:58:58] [SPEAKER_02]: All right.
[00:58:58] [SPEAKER_00]: So let me define them again.
[00:58:59] [SPEAKER_00]: So upset alert.
[00:59:01] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm basically picking the other team.
[00:59:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm picking the underdog to cover.
[00:59:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
[00:59:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Not win outright, but cover, you know, even though they could.
[00:59:10] [SPEAKER_00]: And then the upsets are the actual, this is going to happen.
[00:59:14] [SPEAKER_02]: So this is strictly to cover.
[00:59:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is strictly covering.
[00:59:18] [SPEAKER_02]: How many teams we got?
[00:59:19] [SPEAKER_02]: How many games we got?
[00:59:20] [SPEAKER_00]: One, two, three, four, five, six.
[00:59:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[00:59:24] [SPEAKER_02]: I got a six leg parlay.
[00:59:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:59:27] [SPEAKER_00]: So give me Wake Forest covering against NC State.
[00:59:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Wake Forest.
[00:59:36] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, allow me to partially vomit in my mouth.
[00:59:39] [SPEAKER_00]: And let me go back to the Eagles.
[00:59:39] [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to see ourselves, as I say, the Gators.
[00:59:42] [SPEAKER_00]: To cover against UCF.
[00:59:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Hashtag UC facts.
[00:59:46] [SPEAKER_02]: So UCF that was favored by 15 and a half over Colorado.
[00:59:50] [SPEAKER_02]: What's the over under for or what a favor by against Florida.
[00:59:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Two and a half at the swamp.
[00:59:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Hold on.
[00:59:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Time out.
[00:59:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Vegas had them as 15 point favorites over Colorado.
[01:00:02] [SPEAKER_02]: And Colorado came in three and one.
[01:00:05] [SPEAKER_02]: but the same Vegas has them as two and a half point favorites in Florida.
[01:00:12] [SPEAKER_00]: At the swamp.
[01:00:14] [SPEAKER_02]: But the swamp where Utah beat them last year, right?
[01:00:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Uh-huh.
[01:00:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Where Miami smacked them around earlier, where A&M smacked them around earlier, yeah.
[01:00:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Give me UMass, the Minutemen, to cover against Northern Illinois.
[01:00:30] [SPEAKER_02]: What do we got there?
[01:00:32] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm saying, huh?
[01:00:33] [SPEAKER_02]: What's the spread?
[01:00:34] [SPEAKER_02]: What's the –
[01:00:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Last I saw it, it was 17 and a half.
[01:00:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Let me pull it up real quick.
[01:00:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And for those of you tracking out there, Oregon's up 24-0 at the end of the third quarter on Michigan State.
[01:00:48] [SPEAKER_00]: UNLV and Syracuse are tied at 31 with 11 minutes left in the fourth quarter.
[01:00:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Houston with the upset over TCU, 30-19.
[01:00:58] [SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah.
[01:01:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they must have watched the show.
[01:01:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Because we were talking about how does Houston not have talent.
[01:01:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[01:01:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[01:01:05] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, we did have that conversation.
[01:01:08] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll look for that.
[01:01:09] [SPEAKER_00]: But then let me go to the next one real quick.
[01:01:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I got Stanford covering seven and a half against Mr. Logical's beloved Hokies.
[01:01:22] [SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, said, don't be shocked if we get an outright upset in that one out on the farm.
[01:01:28] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, that's what they call their stadium out there, the farm.
[01:01:30] [SPEAKER_00]: The UMass Northern Illinois is 16.
[01:01:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[01:01:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Florida and UCF is down to one and a half now.
[01:01:39] [SPEAKER_00]: And then finally, I'm sorry, I got two more.
[01:01:42] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
[01:01:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Then we got Texas Tech covering six and a half against Arizona out in the desert, out in Tucson.
[01:01:57] [SPEAKER_00]: And then finally, look ahead spot, USC.
[01:02:02] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, Minnesota covering eight against USC.
[01:02:05] [SPEAKER_00]: So those are the upset alerts.
[01:02:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Then for the actual upsets, I'm taking Missouri over Texas A&M.
[01:02:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Everybody's left Missouri for dead because they had tough games against Boston College and Vanderbilt as if teams can't improve.
[01:02:25] [SPEAKER_00]: As if, you know, they were like the Vanderbilt game.
[01:02:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Missouri's an underdog to A&M?
[01:02:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[01:02:32] How?
[01:02:33] [SPEAKER_00]: It's at A&M.
[01:02:35] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, like how.
[01:02:36] [SPEAKER_00]: They're undefeated, right?
[01:02:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Missouri's undefeated.
[01:02:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
[01:02:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but everybody's giving up on Missouri.
[01:02:42] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's too early for that.
[01:02:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Give me Boston College over Mr. Logical's non-beloved UVA.
[01:02:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, my pops is a VA fan.
[01:02:56] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm saying?
[01:02:57] [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to take BC.
[01:02:58] [SPEAKER_00]: It's only a one-point spread, but I'm going to take BC.
[01:03:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Give me Kansas over Arizona State.
[01:03:08] [SPEAKER_00]: And then finally, Appalachian State over Marshall.
[01:03:14] [SPEAKER_00]: So those are your upsets for the week.
[01:03:17] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so just a few games to point out.
[01:03:21] [SPEAKER_00]: We're not really going to get deep into them just because of time purposes.
[01:03:24] [SPEAKER_00]: But Mr. Logical, I am excited to see the Iowa Hawkeyes traveling to Columbus.
[01:03:32] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, 18-point underdogs, by the way.
[01:03:35] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, here's one for you.
[01:03:38] [SPEAKER_00]: We always talk about Iowa's offense.
[01:03:40] [SPEAKER_00]: So their running back, Caleb Johnson, 6'2", 225.
[01:03:44] [SPEAKER_00]: He makes up 45% of Iowa's yards this season.
[01:03:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's an NFL-sized running back.
[01:03:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I'd actually give him the ball all the time.
[01:03:57] [SPEAKER_00]: College game day.
[01:03:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Do you know where college game day is tomorrow?
[01:04:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Non-SEC?
[01:04:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Non-SEC.
[01:04:05] [SPEAKER_02]: FBS?
[01:04:07] [SPEAKER_02]: FBS.
[01:04:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Somewhere in the Big Ten.
[01:04:13] [SPEAKER_00]: No.
[01:04:15] [SPEAKER_00]: It is for the big, monumental ACC matchup.
[01:04:20] Oh, God.
[01:04:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Between the Miami Hurricanes and the California Golden Bears.
[01:04:26] [SPEAKER_00]: So college game day.
[01:04:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, convicts versus.
[01:04:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the Woke versus Coke.
[01:04:35] [SPEAKER_00]: It's the first time Cal has ever had college game day.
[01:04:39] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, they are a 10-and-a-half-point underdog to Miami.
[01:04:44] [SPEAKER_00]: But I also saw that if you take.
[01:04:47] [SPEAKER_00]: In Miami?
[01:04:48] [SPEAKER_00]: No, it's in Cal, in Berkeley.
[01:04:49] [SPEAKER_02]: They better bring Aaron Rodgers, Marshawn Lynch, Jerry Gallagher.
[01:04:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Marshawn Lynch is the guest picker on game day tomorrow.
[01:04:55] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, but if you combine the mileage, because Miami's going to Cal,
[01:05:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Virginia Tech's going to Stanford, UCLA is coming to Happy Valley.
[01:05:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Combine them all up, you got over 14,000 miles.
[01:05:11] [SPEAKER_00]: And these are conference games.
[01:05:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Whew.
[01:05:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Couldn't be neat-o.
[01:05:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Then you got Georgia coming off of the upset.
[01:05:19] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, they lost to Bama last week.
[01:05:22] [SPEAKER_00]: What are they going to look like?
[01:05:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, they better get it together quick because they are playing in the deep south's oldest rivalry
[01:05:31] [SPEAKER_00]: against the Auburn Tigers.
[01:05:34] [SPEAKER_00]: And I know, like, before we laugh, Georgia's a 24-and-a-half-point favorite in this game.
[01:05:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Really?
[01:05:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Really.
[01:05:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Last year, last year, they were favored around about the same.
[01:05:46] [SPEAKER_00]: And Auburn took them to about five minutes left in that game in a seven-point loss.
[01:05:52] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so I don't know.
[01:05:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Georgia keeps getting off to these slow starts.
[01:05:56] [SPEAKER_00]: So at the very least, I got my eye on an Auburn cover.
[01:06:00] [SPEAKER_00]: But then the last game I wanted to touch on real quick is we got a national title rematch.
[01:06:07] [SPEAKER_02]: For what year?
[01:06:09] [SPEAKER_00]: For this year.
[01:06:10] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Sam, we got the Michigan Wolverines traveling to Seattle to play the Washington Huskies.
[01:06:18] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Washington, two-and-a-half-point favorite at home.
[01:06:23] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I don't know.
[01:06:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Orgy playing?
[01:06:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
[01:06:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Orgy is playing.
[01:06:27] [SPEAKER_00]: He threw for 86 yards last week.
[01:06:30] [SPEAKER_02]: So we're looking at 160 this week, right?
[01:06:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe.
[01:06:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe.
[01:06:35] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Washington has the fourth leading rusher in the Big Ten, Jonah Coleman.
[01:06:39] [SPEAKER_00]: This is, I got my eye on this, Michigan's first road game of the season.
[01:06:46] [SPEAKER_00]: So keep your eye on that.
[01:06:47] [SPEAKER_00]: And they're going to a tough environment.
[01:06:49] [SPEAKER_00]: New head coach.
[01:06:50] [SPEAKER_00]: New quarterback that wasn't the starter at the beginning of the season.
[01:06:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Washington top 20 in offensive and defensive yards per game, even though they have two losses.
[01:07:00] [SPEAKER_00]: So just keep that in your back pocket.
[01:07:02] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I might be picking Washington.
[01:07:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Keep that in your back pocket.
[01:07:06] [SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, and also, by the way, Clemson, first road game, first true road game in Tallahassee tomorrow.
[01:07:15] [SPEAKER_00]: So real quick, random, real quick.
[01:07:17] [SPEAKER_00]: I never thought I would see the day that UCF would be favored in the swamp.
[01:07:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Keep your eye on Arkansas hosting Tennessee.
[01:07:25] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Tennessee looked a little shaky at OU a couple of weeks ago.
[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_00]: And they got the next two weeks.
[01:07:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Tennessee's got Florida and Bama.
[01:07:32] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, possible.
[01:07:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And they looked sticky with a smaller mobile quarterback.
[01:07:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[01:07:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know about this guy, Jalen Green.
[01:07:39] [SPEAKER_02]: He's like the 6'3", 225.
[01:07:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[01:07:41] [SPEAKER_00]: So keep your eye on that.
[01:07:43] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Arkansas has shown that they can go toe-to-toe with better teams.
[01:07:48] [SPEAKER_00]: They went toe-to-toe with Oklahoma State.
[01:07:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Should have won that game.
[01:07:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Should have beat A&M last week.
[01:07:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Problem, though, because you're going up against Niko.
[01:07:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Arkansas gives up an average of 7.2 yards after the catch.
[01:08:01] [SPEAKER_00]: So, hmm.
[01:08:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Got to make tackles in Oklahoma State.
[01:08:05] [SPEAKER_00]: But that environment in Vietnam, as I like to call it, you know, like, it's going to be crazy.
[01:08:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Ask Texas about it.
[01:08:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Ask LSU about it.
[01:08:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Florida State, I mentioned them playing Clemson tomorrow.
[01:08:16] [SPEAKER_00]: DJ out.
[01:08:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Finger injury brought Glenn in.
[01:08:20] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Florida State is 131st of 133 teams in rushing.
[01:08:25] [SPEAKER_00]: They have only scored 20 once this season.
[01:08:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Clemson.
[01:08:28] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, Clemson favored by 14.5, by the way.
[01:08:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Ohio State, right?
[01:08:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Their last non-Michigan Big Ten loss was 2018.
[01:08:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Purdue or somebody.
[01:08:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
[01:08:46] [SPEAKER_00]: It was actually Purdue.
[01:08:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[01:08:48] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Chez Malusi leaving Wisconsin.
[01:08:51] [SPEAKER_00]: They're leading rusher.
[01:08:52] [SPEAKER_00]: They play Purdue tomorrow.
[01:08:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Keep your eye on that.
[01:08:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Wisconsin favored by 10.
[01:08:55] [SPEAKER_00]: And then, I have to say it, get the pause ready.
[01:09:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Because they tell me that this time of year down in Columbia, South Carolina, is known as Cocktober.
[01:09:09] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm saying?
[01:09:10] [SPEAKER_00]: And they got Ole Miss coming in off of that loss to Kentucky last week.
[01:09:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Ole Miss is favored by nine in this game at South Carolina.
[01:09:21] [SPEAKER_00]: But this is the beginning of Cocktober.
[01:09:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm out.
[01:09:27] [SPEAKER_02]: See you later, ladies and gentlemen.
[01:09:28] [SPEAKER_02]: We out.
[01:09:30] [SPEAKER_00]: We'll hit the Jimbo thing on Monday.
[01:09:32] [SPEAKER_00]: So, let's get over to the NBA, just for time purposes.
[01:09:37] [SPEAKER_00]: You know.
[01:09:38] [SPEAKER_00]: All right.
[01:09:38] [SPEAKER_00]: So, we were going to talk about it.
[01:09:40] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, NBA preseason started today.
[01:09:42] [SPEAKER_00]: You had the Nuggets against the Celtics.
[01:09:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Russell Westbrook looked like he was fitting in just fine.
[01:09:47] [SPEAKER_00]: I know people had questions about that.
[01:09:49] [SPEAKER_00]: But we wanted to talk about the Eastern Conference and just some thoughts on teams.
[01:09:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe a little mini preview.
[01:09:57] [SPEAKER_00]: So, I would just go on and cut the suspense.
[01:10:00] [SPEAKER_00]: And Boston is still going to win the East.
[01:10:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[01:10:03] [SPEAKER_02]: I wrote down Boston versus everybody.
[01:10:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[01:10:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Boston versus everybody.
[01:10:07] [SPEAKER_00]: I like that.
[01:10:08] [SPEAKER_00]: I like that.
[01:10:08] [SPEAKER_00]: I like that.
[01:10:09] [SPEAKER_00]: But I had some thoughts on some other teams.
[01:10:12] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, the 76ers, Joel Embiid, talked about how he's down 25 pounds.
[01:10:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And the only question that I have for Joel Embiid is, yeah, you lost all that weight.
[01:10:21] [SPEAKER_00]: But did you gain any heart?
[01:10:23] [SPEAKER_00]: So.
[01:10:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Listen, I like Joel Embiid.
[01:10:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I just think that by the time it gets around to that crunch time playoff window, it just physically, you just can't do it.
[01:10:36] [SPEAKER_02]: If you think about the NBA season right now, we're in October.
[01:10:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Early October, they're going to play some preseason games.
[01:10:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I think the regular season ramps up sometime around Halloween, maybe early November.
[01:10:52] [SPEAKER_02]: It's always the opening.
[01:10:53] [SPEAKER_00]: October 22nd is opening night.
[01:10:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so now you got to get you, any team, you got to get your team and your superstar from October to April before the time of the year that people actually focus on counts.
[01:11:13] [SPEAKER_02]: And then B, you know, you're dealing with injuries, hitting, falling, flopping, getting hit in the head.
[01:11:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[01:11:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Whatever happens to you.
[01:11:22] [SPEAKER_02]: So if he is really playing, because I know the number I was hearing a lot was he was seven feet tall, 285.
[01:11:31] [SPEAKER_02]: So if he's seven feet tall playing at 260, because he was beating, like we talked about in our pre-show, he put up 50 on the Knicks with one bad leg.
[01:11:40] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, why are you not double teaming a dude that can't move left and right?
[01:11:44] [SPEAKER_02]: So if he's really playing at a healthy 260, I just have to see how the Maxie George Embiid works.
[01:11:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Because we talked about this.
[01:11:55] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't like it.
[01:11:56] [SPEAKER_02]: As far as like, if you're going to have a big three like that, that big three has to essentially guarantee you 65 to 70 points.
[01:12:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Because the depth you have and the fact that those three guys have to take that many shots.
[01:12:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Because people talked about the Miami big three.
[01:12:17] [SPEAKER_02]: But Chris Bosh kind of volunteered to take less shots just by default because LeBron and D-Way were going to take more.
[01:12:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Ray Allen took more threes and less dribbling of the ball because KG and Paul Pierce in the Boston three party, they were getting more shots.
[01:12:35] [SPEAKER_02]: So we've seen it not work if a team has three guys who really need the ball.
[01:12:41] [SPEAKER_02]: But if you can get 65 to 70 points out of these guys.
[01:12:45] [SPEAKER_00]: I just think they got too much.
[01:12:48] [SPEAKER_00]: And I know that's weird to say because they have Embiid, they have Paul George, they have Maxie.
[01:12:56] [SPEAKER_00]: But then in the offseason, they went out and got Eric Gordon, Reggie Jackson.
[01:13:00] [SPEAKER_00]: They still have Kelly Oubre.
[01:13:02] [SPEAKER_00]: They went and got Andre Drummond.
[01:13:04] [SPEAKER_00]: And you drafted Jared McCain at 16 or 17.
[01:13:08] [SPEAKER_00]: You got Adam Bona that you drafted in the second round.
[01:13:15] [SPEAKER_00]: They went and got Caleb Martin.
[01:13:18] [SPEAKER_00]: So I just feel like there's too much from the standpoint of, to your point, that there's not available shots.
[01:13:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Like these guys like Eric Gordon, you know, Martin.
[01:13:30] [SPEAKER_00]: These are guys that don't need 15 shots or whatever.
[01:13:34] [SPEAKER_00]: But at the same time, like they're a free-flowing shooter.
[01:13:38] [SPEAKER_02]: If you play fast, then I think what they have works because...
[01:13:44] [SPEAKER_00]: But they have so many players that you got to worry about injuries.
[01:13:48] [SPEAKER_00]: And they got Kyle Lowry old ass too.
[01:13:49] [SPEAKER_00]: So you got Kyle Lowry, Joel Embiid, Paul George.
[01:13:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, he don't get hurt.
[01:13:54] [SPEAKER_02]: He's just old.
[01:13:55] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, Paul George.
[01:13:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, you got Paul George, Embiid, and Eric Gordon who are known to miss significant time.
[01:14:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[01:14:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Whatever you don't get from Eric Gordon, you just get from Maxie.
[01:14:06] [SPEAKER_02]: The problem is, are you going to be in the boat?
[01:14:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Who was it?
[01:14:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Was it Paul George or was it Brooklyn?
[01:14:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Where you had a big three and two guys were just injured for long.
[01:14:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Like their injuries overlap.
[01:14:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it happened in LA.
[01:14:25] [SPEAKER_02]: And I believe it happened in Brooklyn.
[01:14:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Like after Kevin Durant came back from injury.
[01:14:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Not the year he missed for the Achilles because we knew that was going to be the case.
[01:14:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, yeah, yeah.
[01:14:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, even in that playoff series, they lost Kyrie and Harden in the same series.
[01:14:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[01:14:37] [SPEAKER_02]: So throughout that year, they didn't play a lot of games together.
[01:14:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[01:14:42] [SPEAKER_02]: That's the only piece because I don't know how well Embiid works with other superstars.
[01:14:48] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he worked great with Maxie because Maxie don't take away from what each other does.
[01:14:54] [SPEAKER_00]: That's down UNLV.
[01:14:55] [SPEAKER_00]: So I do like Paul George to the Sixers from the standpoint of it allows Maxie to be more free-flowing if Paul George is going to assume that point-forward role.
[01:15:08] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, but he's also older as well.
[01:15:10] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
[01:15:11] [SPEAKER_02]: He's going to be Philly's Chris Bosh.
[01:15:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[01:15:13] [SPEAKER_02]: He's got to be it.
[01:15:14] [SPEAKER_00]: And I think he has to be.
[01:15:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's Maxie.
[01:15:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I think he has to be Maxie.
[01:15:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, he's the newcomer, so he has to be.
[01:15:20] [SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, Sam, I think that having Paul George as your number three is the best situation in the NBA.
[01:15:27] [SPEAKER_00]: But the problem is that I think when I look at the Knicks, I think their pieces just fit better and complement each other better.
[01:15:35] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, you've got Jalen Brunson, obviously.
[01:15:38] [SPEAKER_00]: But then, you know, they've got Adenobi.
[01:15:40] [SPEAKER_00]: They brought in McHale Bridges.
[01:15:41] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you have your wing defenders, you know, that are going to match up with Tatum and Brown.
[01:15:48] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, you brought in Carl Anthony Towns to stretch the floor a little bit.
[01:15:51] [SPEAKER_00]: You have Deuce McBride coming off the bench.
[01:15:54] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, you went and got Landry Shamit, so more shooting off the bench.
[01:15:58] [SPEAKER_02]: The Knicks, the thing with, yes, Sam, but the Knicks.
[01:16:00] [SPEAKER_00]: But they still have too many.
[01:16:01] [SPEAKER_00]: They have too much, too.
[01:16:02] [SPEAKER_02]: The Knicks could go 57-25, and you still wouldn't believe them in the playoffs.
[01:16:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Correct.
[01:16:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
[01:16:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
[01:16:08] [SPEAKER_02]: But I think I like their roster.
[01:16:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I think they'll be – because they'll be – I think the Knicks will go multiple times throughout this year,
[01:16:18] [SPEAKER_02]: 82-game schedule.
[01:16:19] [SPEAKER_02]: They'll have clips where they are like 13-3 in their last 16 games.
[01:16:24] [SPEAKER_02]: But they're going to beat Charlotte.
[01:16:25] [SPEAKER_02]: They're going to beat Orlando.
[01:16:27] [SPEAKER_02]: They're going to beat Washington.
[01:16:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Washington.
[01:16:29] [SPEAKER_02]: They're going to beat Cleveland on all the time.
[01:16:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I like –
[01:16:32] [SPEAKER_02]: They're going to beat one of these West Coast teams that rest their guy when they go West.
[01:16:36] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, they'll go five – they'll win five out of six on a West Coast trip because they're just going to overwhelm a team.
[01:16:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I like the Sixers from one to three.
[01:16:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[01:16:45] [SPEAKER_00]: I like the Sixers from one to three versus the Knicks.
[01:16:50] [SPEAKER_00]: But I like the Knicks after that everywhere else.
[01:16:54] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, like I like Embiid over Towns.
[01:16:58] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I like Maxie over Brunson to some degree.
[01:17:01] [SPEAKER_00]: And I like Paul George over, I don't know, Mikael Bridges maybe instead of Adenobi.
[01:17:07] [SPEAKER_00]: One of the two.
[01:17:09] [SPEAKER_00]: But I like Paul George better than either one of them.
[01:17:11] [SPEAKER_00]: But then after that, I want the Knicks.
[01:17:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[01:17:16] [SPEAKER_02]: But when you said that, it's very interesting.
[01:17:19] [SPEAKER_02]: But it's like I think the New York Knicks three that you named off,
[01:17:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I think Mikael Bridges will make sure that Jalen or Cat gets their shot.
[01:17:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Uh-huh.
[01:17:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Whereas, I don't know, Paul George and Maxie and Embiid are going to play this triangle offense between the three of them.
[01:17:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think Paul George – I think Paul George is willing to or like should be willing to, I should say.
[01:17:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Maxie, I think, is the problem.
[01:17:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to look up and see what his deal was.
[01:17:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think Maxie is the problem because he's the young gunner that just got paid that's trying to –
[01:18:01] [SPEAKER_00]: because, you know, there were times where people were like should Philly trade Embiid, you know, and now it's Maxie's team.
[01:18:07] [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know how much of that Maxie actually feels, you know, but I imagine he just got paid and he wants to continue to develop, you know.
[01:18:19] [SPEAKER_00]: So how about this?
[01:18:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Everybody talks about Travis Hunter.
[01:18:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Look at my guy Ricky White.
[01:18:23] [SPEAKER_00]: We brought him up from UNLV the other day.
[01:18:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Ten catches, 135 yards, touchdown, and a blocked punt.
[01:18:29] [SPEAKER_00]: How about that?
[01:18:30] [SPEAKER_00]: But, yeah.
[01:18:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Let's know Travis Hunter, the Heisman front runner.
[01:18:34] [SPEAKER_00]: So when I look at it, you know, that's my question is does Philly have too many mouths to feed?
[01:18:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Because, you know, like I think these Knicks players, you know, Adanobi and Mikael Bridges, Josh Hart, they're willing to do some dirty work, play some defense, you know, stand in the corner and shoot a three.
[01:18:56] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, you got Deuce McBride and Shamit coming off the bench.
[01:18:59] [SPEAKER_00]: They know their roles are to come in the game and get open shots.
[01:19:04] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, but when you look at Philly, you know, Kelly Oubre still wants to be involved.
[01:19:12] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, Kelly Oubre is like a flack of a word.
[01:19:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he's like the perfect role player because I think he had his opportunities to be that guy.
[01:19:20] [SPEAKER_02]: But he got drafted.
[01:19:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I remember he was wearing like some red Wizard of Oz that can choose.
[01:19:26] [SPEAKER_02]: He's a cool cat.
[01:19:27] [SPEAKER_02]: He was one of the first guys that noticed I was like on that big hair, you know, with the suit and everything else.
[01:19:34] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think he's been like a perfect role player.
[01:19:37] [SPEAKER_02]: As we talk about Philly, this is something that has picked up.
[01:19:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Maxie and Paul George, between the two of them, are getting paid $414 million.
[01:19:49] [SPEAKER_02]: $415 million.
[01:19:51] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, Maxie's getting $40 million a year.
[01:19:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Paul George is getting $52 million.
[01:20:00] [SPEAKER_02]: So, if I'm paying two guys $92 million, I even look up Embiid's contract.
[01:20:05] [SPEAKER_02]: But whatever Embiid's contract is, week in and week out, game in and game out, he lives up to whatever that number is.
[01:20:13] [SPEAKER_02]: These two guys, that's going to be my issue.
[01:20:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Five years, we've been seven.
[01:20:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Five years, seven.
[01:20:20] [SPEAKER_02]: For Embiid?
[01:20:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[01:20:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[01:20:22] [SPEAKER_02]: But Embiid's giving you 33 and a half points.
[01:20:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Rebounds.
[01:20:26] [SPEAKER_02]: He defends well.
[01:20:27] [SPEAKER_02]: He's a big body.
[01:20:28] [SPEAKER_02]: He's going to get the other team's big man in foul trouble.
[01:20:31] [SPEAKER_02]: He's going to get the other team's big forward.
[01:20:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Actually, hold on.
[01:20:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Sorry.
[01:20:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Three years, 192 is what kicks in, though.
[01:20:41] [SPEAKER_00]: So, right now he's on a four-year 213.
[01:20:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And then in 26, it goes three years, 192.
[01:20:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[01:20:50] [SPEAKER_02]: So, you got over a half a billion dollars going to three guys.
[01:20:57] [SPEAKER_02]: One guy just signed his in Paul George.
[01:21:00] [SPEAKER_02]: He can't come in there on some, I'm going to be a $50 million role player.
[01:21:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[01:21:06] [SPEAKER_00]: And two of them are hurt all the time, Embiid and Paul George.
[01:21:10] [SPEAKER_02]: So.
[01:21:11] [SPEAKER_02]: So, that's what I'm saying.
[01:21:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I just don't like the opening from that standpoint.
[01:21:13] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like riding a roller coaster.
[01:21:17] [SPEAKER_02]: And the over-the-shoulder harness is locked.
[01:21:21] [SPEAKER_02]: But the lap thing is kind of like frog.
[01:21:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[01:21:25] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm out on Milwaukee too.
[01:21:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I think I'm good.
[01:21:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I think I can like sit here.
[01:21:30] [SPEAKER_02]: But it's like this part is moving way too much for me.
[01:21:33] [SPEAKER_02]: So, if I make it to the end of the roller coaster and they make it to the Eastern Conference Finals,
[01:21:38] [SPEAKER_02]: it was a great ride.
[01:21:39] [SPEAKER_02]: But if halfway through this roller coaster, your feet end up on top of this thing that's supposed to hold your legs down,
[01:21:46] [SPEAKER_02]: then that's what you signed up for when you were rooting for the Phillies.
[01:21:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[01:21:50] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm out on Milwaukee too.
[01:21:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Because, you know, the thing I do like about Milwaukee, one of the few things I like about Milwaukee is continuity.
[01:21:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Like their three have been together.
[01:22:01] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Giannis, Brooke Lopez, and Middleton.
[01:22:05] [SPEAKER_00]: They've been together.
[01:22:06] [SPEAKER_02]: We're excluding Dane from that.
[01:22:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, no.
[01:22:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm getting there.
[01:22:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm getting there.
[01:22:11] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, say they won a championship together.
[01:22:14] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, they've been together throughout the years.
[01:22:16] [SPEAKER_00]: So, they have a certain relationship and continuity on the court that I think goes a long way,
[01:22:21] [SPEAKER_00]: even though they may not be as dynamic as the other teams that we just talked about.
[01:22:27] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, now you add Dane to that, you know, who was supposed to be the star that put you back over the top.
[01:22:34] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, he started off slow last year, lonely in Milwaukee.
[01:22:38] [SPEAKER_00]: We got the reports about how him and Giannis weren't able to work out together this summer, which is like, okay.
[01:22:45] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I just can't fathom the excuse that you have for y'all not to get together this summer.
[01:22:50] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, but then when I look at it, Brooke Lopez is another year older.
[01:22:54] [SPEAKER_00]: So, he's 36 now.
[01:22:56] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, you got Middleton who's injured now.
[01:23:00] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, he's like the basketball Keenan Allen right now.
[01:23:03] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so Giannis.
[01:23:05] [SPEAKER_02]: They get injured sneezing.
[01:23:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Giannis, you know, coming off that Saleus, you know, name had that injury before as well.
[01:23:14] [SPEAKER_00]: So, Milwaukee made some very sneaky moves that I like from the standpoint of they didn't add anything to compare with Philly and New York,
[01:23:23] [SPEAKER_00]: which they might not have had to because you got Giannis who might be the best player.
[01:23:26] [SPEAKER_00]: You might not need to, yeah.
[01:23:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Right, right.
[01:23:28] [SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, they went out and got DeLon Wright.
[01:23:34] [SPEAKER_00]: They went out and got Gary Trent Jr.
[01:23:36] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, those are upgrades over Malik Beasley and Patrick Beverly.
[01:23:41] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, maybe my guy Andre Jackson gets some time this year.
[01:23:45] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Jay Crowder's gone.
[01:23:47] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so they brought in Torian Prince.
[01:23:50] [SPEAKER_00]: So, like, nothing that's going to move the needle per se, but reliable guys, you know, that can hit time.
[01:23:58] [SPEAKER_02]: They can sit in third and the East.
[01:24:01] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[01:24:01] [SPEAKER_02]: We talked about the dynamics of the relationship when they fired Adrian Griffin last year and he brought in Doc Rivers.
[01:24:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Didn't seem like it made a lot of sense.
[01:24:09] [SPEAKER_02]: But if the players are out on you, the players are out on you.
[01:24:11] [SPEAKER_02]: There's only so much you can do.
[01:24:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, 17-19 record with Doc Rivers, by the way.
[01:24:16] [SPEAKER_02]: So, Dame, and he talked about in this article in Fox Sports, he was like, last year was like the toughest year of his life.
[01:24:22] [SPEAKER_02]: He was going through his divorce.
[01:24:24] [SPEAKER_02]: So, you had like a lot of stuff going on.
[01:24:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And people were like, ah, just a divorce should be all right.
[01:24:27] [SPEAKER_02]: But it's like, that weighs on you.
[01:24:30] [SPEAKER_02]: It weighs on you a lot.
[01:24:31] [SPEAKER_02]: And then you have this expectation because Dame is a perennial all-star.
[01:24:35] [SPEAKER_02]: He's regarded as the second or third best shooter in the NBA.
[01:24:39] [SPEAKER_02]: One of the best scorers.
[01:24:40] [SPEAKER_02]: He put up over 70 points.
[01:24:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Undersized guy, but always gets it done.
[01:24:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And he played in a small market.
[01:24:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I know we talked.
[01:24:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I know I'm not a big market guy.
[01:24:49] [SPEAKER_02]: But Portland wasn't really being, you know, propped up there as one of these markets that we should all pay attention to.
[01:24:57] [SPEAKER_02]: So, when he left there to go to Milwaukee, a team with championship aspirations, it was tough.
[01:25:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think it was a tough expectation.
[01:25:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I think they could be one of those teams that could still end up being third or fourth, probably behind Cleveland.
[01:25:09] [SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, if we keep it generic, you go Boston, New York, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Orlando is in the mix.
[01:25:20] [SPEAKER_02]: But, like I said, with the NBA, it seems like because you get the top draft pick, you're good to go.
[01:25:27] [SPEAKER_02]: And it squares your way for, like, the next coming years.
[01:25:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Like in football, you're the worst team.
[01:25:31] [SPEAKER_02]: You get the first pick.
[01:25:33] [SPEAKER_02]: They kind of turn you around.
[01:25:34] [SPEAKER_02]: The NBA doesn't have that same kind of impact.
[01:25:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I want to know how many times Orlando is going to score 95 points this year.
[01:25:43] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like so, like as far as they go.
[01:25:45] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, as far as they go, you know, this is the three-point league now.
[01:25:50] [SPEAKER_00]: You know.
[01:25:51] [SPEAKER_00]: So, Orlando last in three-pointers made, you know, second to last in three-point attempts, 24th in three-point percentage.
[01:26:00] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, and they went out and got KCP, which was a great move.
[01:26:03] [SPEAKER_02]: They weren't shooting them.
[01:26:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[01:26:05] [SPEAKER_02]: They weren't shooting them well.
[01:26:06] [SPEAKER_02]: They didn't shoot a lot of them.
[01:26:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and they went out and got KCP, you know, which was an awesome move, especially for a young team.
[01:26:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Bringing in championship experience.
[01:26:15] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, some mentors.
[01:26:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he'll do some mentoring of my guy, Jalen Suggs.
[01:26:19] [SPEAKER_00]: But I was hopeful that Orlando would make a front-court move as well.
[01:26:23] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, they're running it back with Wendell Carter.
[01:26:27] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Van Carroll's going to take another step forward.
[01:26:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I have very high hopes for him.
[01:26:31] [SPEAKER_00]: But I also wonder if Van Carroll has already peaked.
[01:26:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Where he goes this year, is this going to be the end of the peak?
[01:26:41] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Mo Wagner needs to...
[01:26:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Or I'm sorry, not Mo Wagner.
[01:26:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Franz Wagner, the brother, needs to step it up.
[01:26:47] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, they both disappeared.
[01:26:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Both Wagner's disappeared in the playoffs last year.
[01:26:51] [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not as high on Orlando as a lot of other people that I've been hearing.
[01:26:55] [SPEAKER_02]: And the problem with Orlando, and I talked about this the other day,
[01:26:59] [SPEAKER_02]: teams get a certain level of success, i.e. like what Minnesota did.
[01:27:05] [SPEAKER_02]: They made it to the Western Conference Finals.
[01:27:07] [SPEAKER_02]: They had, you know, they had opportunities to really put...
[01:27:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I think they could have won that series against Dallas.
[01:27:14] [SPEAKER_02]: A turnover here, a turnover there late in the game.
[01:27:17] [SPEAKER_02]: An eight-point lead cut to one.
[01:27:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Then a bad turnover.
[01:27:20] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, so little things can happen if you just kind of clean up.
[01:27:24] [SPEAKER_02]: But Orlando might be one of those teams where they're going to have medium success this year,
[01:27:30] [SPEAKER_02]: and they're going to start purging.
[01:27:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Guys like Jalen Suggs are going to be gone.
[01:27:35] [SPEAKER_00]: I was shocked they didn't bring back Markel Fultz.
[01:27:38] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Anthony.
[01:27:40] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, like, they're going to make these moves under the guise and this expectation
[01:27:45] [SPEAKER_02]: that we've arrived.
[01:27:47] [SPEAKER_02]: The East is weak.
[01:27:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Because essentially any team, only team that's solid that you can look at realistically
[01:27:54] [SPEAKER_02]: is Boston as a contender.
[01:27:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, this team is probably going to win the East.
[01:28:02] [SPEAKER_02]: And then you have Cleveland because they have stability in it
[01:28:05] [SPEAKER_02]: and they have dynamic playmakers that played together for a couple of years.
[01:28:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I was going to bring up Cleveland because now they have a new head coach.
[01:28:13] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, B.J. Biggerstaff is out in Detroit now.
[01:28:16] [SPEAKER_00]: So they bring in Kenny Atkinson, you know, who I like a lot, especially.
[01:28:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Good smart coach.
[01:28:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Coach young players.
[01:28:24] [SPEAKER_00]: The problem with Cleveland.
[01:28:25] [SPEAKER_00]: He's the top three in the East, coach.
[01:28:26] [SPEAKER_00]: The problem that I have with Cleveland is they didn't solve some of the problems
[01:28:33] [SPEAKER_00]: that I thought they had.
[01:28:35] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, for example, I just don't believe in the fit of Jared Allen
[01:28:39] [SPEAKER_00]: and Evan Mobley.
[01:28:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I just don't think they mesh very well together.
[01:28:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Why can't it be like the Carl Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert?
[01:28:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Because, well, for one, they don't give Mobley the ball enough.
[01:28:53] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like Mobley has –
[01:28:55] [SPEAKER_01]: It's a Mobley thing.
[01:28:55] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it's –
[01:28:55] [SPEAKER_00]: It might be.
[01:28:56] [SPEAKER_00]: But also it's hard to get the ball when you got Donovan Mitchell out here
[01:29:01] [SPEAKER_00]: jacking 35 shots.
[01:29:02] [SPEAKER_00]: And then you got Garland, like, if he get 35, I get 25.
[01:29:06] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so it's hard to – you know, and that's where coaching,
[01:29:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I guess, comes in.
[01:29:10] [SPEAKER_02]: You got to put him in the Miami Heatle State.
[01:29:14] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I care is –
[01:29:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Put on the Miami Heat DVD.
[01:29:18] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty sure it's out there on YouTube, the highlight reel,
[01:29:21] [SPEAKER_02]: and say, hey, Cleveland, this is what you can do.
[01:29:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Mobley, you're the new Chris Bosh.
[01:29:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe not threes, but you're waiting on –
[01:29:30] [SPEAKER_02]: You can hit him.
[01:29:31] [SPEAKER_02]: You're waiting on these two guys to get you the ball.
[01:29:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think that, you know, they're still going to be relying on Karis LeVert
[01:29:40] [SPEAKER_00]: for big minutes off the bench.
[01:29:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I think they could have upgraded there.
[01:29:43] [SPEAKER_00]: They could have upgraded Isaac Okoro, who just signed last week.
[01:29:46] [SPEAKER_00]: How's that for Woj's last bomb?
[01:29:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, Isaac Okoro is your last tweet?
[01:29:51] [SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, you know, when you look at it that way,
[01:29:54] [SPEAKER_00]: I think Cleveland missed an opportunity.
[01:29:57] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, and I think that once we get to the All-Star break,
[01:30:01] [SPEAKER_00]: we're going to have those same conversations of can Garland and Mitchell coexist?
[01:30:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, is this –
[01:30:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Yo, that conversation was very strange to me.
[01:30:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Just simply because we've seen – like, they mentioned it again.
[01:30:15] [SPEAKER_02]: We've seen Paul Pierce and the Ray Allen work.
[01:30:18] [SPEAKER_02]: We've seen – we thought we were going to see T-Mac and Vince Carter work,
[01:30:23] [SPEAKER_02]: but they didn't want to be –
[01:30:24] [SPEAKER_00]: That's a very big difference, though.
[01:30:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Ray Allen is what, 6'6"?
[01:30:28] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Paul Pierce about 6'7"?
[01:30:30] [SPEAKER_02]: 6'7", 6'8".
[01:30:32] [SPEAKER_02]: So defensively, yeah.
[01:30:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, but when you look at these two, Mitchell's at best 6'3",
[01:30:39] [SPEAKER_00]: and Garland might be shorter than that.
[01:30:43] [SPEAKER_02]: But if you could put the pressure on them all offensively,
[01:30:45] [SPEAKER_02]: as long as he understands it as joint,
[01:30:49] [SPEAKER_02]: we're going to come with a two-headed attack from the wing.
[01:30:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Being Garland and Donovan Mitchell.
[01:30:58] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just – some people just got to understand their role,
[01:31:01] [SPEAKER_02]: and that role might not be – you're not going to be a 21-10 guy.
[01:31:06] [SPEAKER_02]: You might be a 17-12 guy.
[01:31:08] [SPEAKER_02]: And that's why I was hoping that this is just a matter of –
[01:31:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Kevin loved this situation.
[01:31:12] [SPEAKER_02]: And B, I need you to play – I need you to do that so we can beat Boston.
[01:31:17] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's why I was hoping that this was a matter of roles just not being defined.
[01:31:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Like maybe bigger staff just didn't have the command in that way.
[01:31:26] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, and we'll see.
[01:31:28] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Ackerson is coming in from the Golden State staff.
[01:31:30] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, we'll see if there's a certain level of cred that he walks in there with.
[01:31:36] [SPEAKER_00]: We'll see.
[01:31:38] [SPEAKER_00]: You know.
[01:31:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, it probably comes down to contracts.
[01:31:41] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like I need certain benchmarks to negotiate my contracts.
[01:31:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Because I don't know if Paul George gets a –
[01:31:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if he gets four years, 211 million,
[01:31:55] [SPEAKER_02]: if he's averaging 12 points and helping the Clippers win.
[01:31:58] [SPEAKER_02]: 50 games.
[01:31:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[01:32:00] [SPEAKER_02]: You know.
[01:32:01] [SPEAKER_02]: So, you need that kind of – you need something to say –
[01:32:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Touchdown Syracuse.
[01:32:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[01:32:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Because Donovan Mitchell already had his deal.
[01:32:10] [SPEAKER_00]: And then you got –
[01:32:12] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, we went all this time,
[01:32:15] [SPEAKER_00]: and we didn't even talk about the second team
[01:32:18] [SPEAKER_00]: that made it to the Eastern Conference Finals last year.
[01:32:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Indiana got to play some defense.
[01:32:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, you know, I like it.
[01:32:25] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, this is going to be a full season with Siakam.
[01:32:29] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, remember he was a trade deadline trade
[01:32:32] [SPEAKER_00]: or a little bit before the trade deadline.
[01:32:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Correct.
[01:32:34] [SPEAKER_00]: So, I like the fact that they're going to have a full season with him
[01:32:37] [SPEAKER_00]: and Halliburton together.
[01:32:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully, Halliburton is charged up about not playing at the Olympics
[01:32:43] [SPEAKER_00]: and he's coming back to –
[01:32:46] [SPEAKER_02]: My man was having a ball of a time at the Olympics.
[01:32:49] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, they're going to get my guy Benedict Matherin back.
[01:32:53] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, who –
[01:32:54] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, if he's in that –
[01:32:55] [SPEAKER_02]: But he's been in LeBron?
[01:32:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[01:32:57] [SPEAKER_00]: But if he was in that Eastern Conference Final,
[01:32:58] [SPEAKER_00]: maybe they'd get a game or two off of Boston.
[01:33:00] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, they took those games to the wire even without Halliburton.
[01:33:05] [SPEAKER_00]: So, we got Syracuse and UNLB over at Allegiant tied at 38 with 23 seconds left.
[01:33:11] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know –
[01:33:13] [SPEAKER_00]: But I think Indiana is not out of here.
[01:33:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I don't think Indiana is going to fall back to their rightful place of seventh
[01:33:23] [SPEAKER_00]: or eighth place.
[01:33:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Most of these teams should be looking at it like this.
[01:33:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Boston's probably going to run off 62 to 64 wins.
[01:33:34] [SPEAKER_02]: So, 62 and 20, 64 and 18.
[01:33:37] [SPEAKER_02]: So, we're in that range.
[01:33:39] [SPEAKER_02]: But they're going to have tendencies that you can map out.
[01:33:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Jason Tatum's shot decision and shot making –
[01:33:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, hey.
[01:33:49] [SPEAKER_00]: You didn't see the videos, huh?
[01:33:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I saw the videos.
[01:33:51] [SPEAKER_02]: The shot looked exactly the same.
[01:33:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, I watched it and I was watching the video and I saw like some YouTuber made like a parody
[01:34:02] [SPEAKER_02]: and a meme of his shot even before then.
[01:34:05] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, yeah, it looks exactly the same.
[01:34:07] [SPEAKER_02]: It looks too aggressive and too robotic but then slightly unnecessary.
[01:34:14] [SPEAKER_02]: But I think –
[01:34:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Do you think that there's tension in the Boston locker room?
[01:34:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Nah, I just want to chip.
[01:34:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I know, but, you know, we had the whole Jalen Brown Olympics thing.
[01:34:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Jalen Brown's a smart guy and I think Jalen Brown's beef is with the establishment.
[01:34:30] [SPEAKER_00]: You don't think Tatum tries to press too hard to get the MVP slash finals MVP he thinks that he's owed?
[01:34:37] [SPEAKER_00]: No.
[01:34:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I would –
[01:34:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I would think that if they didn't grind so hard.
[01:34:43] [SPEAKER_02]: If they had gone through so many trials and tribulations and made an NBA finals to the point where you lose an NBA finals to Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors two years ago
[01:34:57] [SPEAKER_02]: and then you basically – you're a rolled ankle away from the greatest comeback in NBA or even sports playoff history
[01:35:09] [SPEAKER_02]: and then you get over the hump, I don't think you go through all of that over a 24-month window just to revert back to jealousy during the summer at the Olympics.
[01:35:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, fair enough, fair enough.
[01:35:22] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so, yeah, I like Indiana.
[01:35:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I think I'm out on Miami.
[01:35:28] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'm done with the ride.
[01:35:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's exhausting.
[01:35:33] [SPEAKER_00]: So this year is either going to be a renaissance or it's going to be a collapse.
[01:35:38] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, is Jimmy Butler going to take the regular –
[01:35:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I can diamond in the rough and go 50 and 32.
[01:35:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, is Jimmy Butler going to take the regular season seriously?
[01:35:47] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, because just because you can be the eighth seed, get into play-in and get to the finals doesn't mean that that should be the path that you aim for.
[01:35:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's probably – maybe it's a part of it because they're Miami and they're always box office, so they can take nights off.
[01:36:05] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Tyler Hero, they're waiting for him to take a step that he doesn't have.
[01:36:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and not unless he can put like 12 to 18 more pounds on.
[01:36:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Like, he's not a threat.
[01:36:14] [SPEAKER_02]: He's not a viable threat for what you want him to do.
[01:36:17] [SPEAKER_02]: If you wanted him to play the Austin Reeves role, got it.
[01:36:20] [SPEAKER_02]: You want him to play the Duncan Robinson role, got it.
[01:36:23] [SPEAKER_02]: But you want him to beat Ja Morant, it can't happen.
[01:36:27] [SPEAKER_00]: I do like Kalil where the rookie that they drafted, you know, allows Bam to slide over out of the five a little bit more.
[01:36:34] [SPEAKER_00]: So, I like that where, you know, Bam isn't going to be matched up with your Jokic's and your Embiid's and all that kind of stuff.
[01:36:42] [SPEAKER_00]: So, that should help.
[01:36:43] [SPEAKER_00]: But I think –
[01:36:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I like Miami.
[01:36:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I like Miami.
[01:36:45] [SPEAKER_02]: They're going to be well coached.
[01:36:47] [SPEAKER_00]: And they got Teddy Rozier.
[01:36:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And they got Teddy Rozier.
[01:36:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And they got Teddy Rozier.
[01:36:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Teddy, Terry.
[01:36:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Terry Rozier.
[01:36:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Not Teddy Rozier.
[01:36:52] [SPEAKER_00]: They got –
[01:36:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Terry Rozier was last, and I thought he was going to have an impact.
[01:36:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, he got hurt last year.
[01:36:57] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, he didn't even –
[01:37:30] [SPEAKER_02]: offensive cog in your machine than Terry Rozier.
[01:37:33] [SPEAKER_02]: They probably should have moved him a long time ago.
[01:37:35] [SPEAKER_02]: But when he got to Miami, I think Miami has their way.
[01:37:40] [SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know if they change it unless you're just –
[01:37:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I think he only played –
[01:37:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I think he only played like four to six games and then he got hurt.
[01:37:49] [SPEAKER_00]: So –
[01:37:49] [SPEAKER_02]: He played a little bit more than that, but we'll double check it out.
[01:37:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
[01:37:53] [SPEAKER_00]: So here's a list of teams, and I want you to tell me which one of these teams,
[01:37:58] [SPEAKER_00]: if any, can make a run to the playoff.
[01:38:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Pistons, Bulls, Wizards, Hornets, Hawks, Raptors, Nets.
[01:38:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Nuggets.
[01:38:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Did I say Nuggets?
[01:38:15] [SPEAKER_02]: No, you didn't.
[01:38:16] [SPEAKER_02]: That's what I'm saying.
[01:38:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, oh, oh.
[01:38:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I was about to say, did I screw that up?
[01:38:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't like what the Nets did ever.
[01:38:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think they're going to be the worst team in the league.
[01:38:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I haven't liked any –
[01:38:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I haven't liked any of their moves to include signing Kyrie and KD.
[01:38:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Uh-huh.
[01:38:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't like signing both of them.
[01:38:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And if I did, it might have been washed away so quick once KD got healthy
[01:38:46] [SPEAKER_02]: and they went after James Harden.
[01:38:47] [SPEAKER_02]: So I can't recall if I liked that move initially because Kevin Durant wasn't playing.
[01:38:55] [SPEAKER_02]: But as soon as they started playing and they traded all those assets to get James Harden,
[01:38:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I've been basically out on every single move they've made since.
[01:39:03] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm probably not – I'm probably in the majority.
[01:39:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I can't think of a move that they made.
[01:39:09] [SPEAKER_02]: And you said Charlotte?
[01:39:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[01:39:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if the patience is there.
[01:39:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll get back to Charlotte in a second.
[01:39:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Do you think Josh Giddey is going to be entrusted with the Luka role?
[01:39:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Where?
[01:39:26] [SPEAKER_00]: In Chicago.
[01:39:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Because you remember that was the trade for Alex Caruso.
[01:39:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Caruso goes to OKC.
[01:39:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Chicago's just not a serious team.
[01:39:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I think they're living up the legacy that all the Jordans have their team colors on them when they get released.
[01:39:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[01:39:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Zach Levine's back.
[01:39:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Zach Levine should have been traded five years ago when Trump was still president.
[01:39:55] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, they finally – they still have Patrick Williams who I'm still waiting to break out.
[01:40:00] [SPEAKER_00]: And it ain't going to happen, I guess.
[01:40:02] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Kobe White, you know, is there.
[01:40:04] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, you got him.
[01:40:05] [SPEAKER_00]: They drafted Boozelis.
[01:40:06] [SPEAKER_00]: If you don't get a fade.
[01:40:08] [SPEAKER_00]: We like Boozelis.
[01:40:10] [SPEAKER_02]: I like Boozelis.
[01:40:12] [SPEAKER_02]: And what I like, I think Chicago – excuse me, Chicago's going to turn into Detroit and Houston.
[01:40:19] [SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be one of those teams that just – they have young talent.
[01:40:23] [SPEAKER_02]: They're going to get – they're going to try to get an old head in.
[01:40:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Excuse me.
[01:40:27] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not going to work.
[01:40:28] [SPEAKER_02]: They're going to trade them for young talent.
[01:40:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Very similar.
[01:40:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Houston trying to do young talent and try to bring in these old heads like Dylan Brooks and Fred Vanitya.
[01:40:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I know we're not talking about the West.
[01:40:36] [SPEAKER_02]: But I just think that Chicago, Detroit, it's – you don't marry your talent to the coach.
[01:40:46] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like it just doesn't work.
[01:40:48] [SPEAKER_02]: And it's confusing because those guys are all like dynamic.
[01:40:52] [SPEAKER_02]: 6'7", the 6'9", that can handle the ball, scores in college.
[01:40:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Cade Cunningham was a 16-point guard.
[01:40:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, the problem is – and I was going to bring this up too.
[01:41:00] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Houston I think is caught up in are we younger or are we old?
[01:41:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Like you can't be both.
[01:41:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Like are we – you know, are we trying to build or – you know, like so for example, they have Shea Goon.
[01:41:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I know we're not talking about the West, so I'll say this real quick.
[01:41:18] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, they got Shea Goon, you know, but then you got Jabari Smith as well, you know, who had to play five while he was injured.
[01:41:25] [SPEAKER_00]: You still got Jalen Green, Van Vliet, but then you drafted Ahmed Thompson.
[01:41:30] [SPEAKER_00]: You brought in Dylan Brooks, but then you got Cam Whitmore.
[01:41:34] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so there's just – then you drafted Reed Shepard this year.
[01:41:37] [SPEAKER_00]: So there's just like a lot of talent that can all –
[01:41:39] [SPEAKER_02]: The redundancy of inadequacies.
[01:41:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[01:41:42] [SPEAKER_00]: They can all get you 20 points.
[01:41:44] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
[01:41:45] [SPEAKER_02]: But somebody has to not.
[01:41:46] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel 7 for 20.
[01:41:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, somebody has to not get you 20 points though.
[01:41:50] [SPEAKER_00]: But in Detroit, it's the reverse.
[01:41:52] [SPEAKER_00]: You have all this young talent who –
[01:41:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Not a big hit you 20.
[01:41:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Individually, they look great.
[01:41:58] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, like Cain Cunningham looks like he should be an all-star at some point.
[01:42:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Jaden Ivey has talent.
[01:42:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Jalen Duren has talent.
[01:42:06] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, they –
[01:42:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why they went out and got Tobias Harris.
[01:42:13] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I don't know why they went out and got Tim Hardaway, you know, but they also brought in Ron Holland.
[01:42:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I said, they're doing a Houston thing.
[01:42:22] [SPEAKER_00]: They're doing a Houston thing, but Houston is doing it.
[01:42:25] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just like you don't –
[01:42:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Just go for – pick a lane and stay in it.
[01:42:30] [SPEAKER_00]: But I think Houston is doing it right from the standpoint of Houston has people they can move.
[01:42:37] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so you can play these games and somebody might want Jalen Green.
[01:42:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Somebody might want Van Vliet.
[01:42:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but the problem with Houston –
[01:42:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I know when I talk about the West, Houston has guys that are playing –
[01:42:48] [SPEAKER_02]: that are playing themselves into positions to negotiate long-term contracts
[01:42:53] [SPEAKER_02]: while simultaneously signing guys that aren't better than the guys that are in a position to negotiate contracts.
[01:42:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[01:42:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Detroit did that same thing by bringing in Hardaway and Tobias Harris.
[01:43:03] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like who are you cutting off?
[01:43:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Like what team – so if I'm making any kind of moves as a GM or coach or owner, whoever,
[01:43:15] [SPEAKER_02]: and I'm in the East, and I'm 10th, 12th, 13th every year, and I'm making moves and I'm bringing in veterans,
[01:43:24] [SPEAKER_02]: does this veteran get me to seven, to six?
[01:43:30] [SPEAKER_02]: I think maybe – if you're looking at like Paul George, if you're Detroit,
[01:43:34] [SPEAKER_02]: if I get Paul George here, can I pair him with Cade Cunningham,
[01:43:40] [SPEAKER_02]: who is basically like the same size guy, 6'8", 6'9", handles the ball, can I do that?
[01:43:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Because like Tim Hardaway isn't going to teach anything to your guys you currently have there.
[01:43:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this is like NBA 2K where you can be like, I want to give Ron Holland Tim Hardaway's shooting badge.
[01:43:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[01:44:00] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's like – yeah, you're just stuck and you're going to be like Houston North
[01:44:04] [SPEAKER_02]: where you have some old guys who have gotten money who are going to play.
[01:44:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Because if I'm an owner, I'm looking at the bench and like, okay, there's 15 dudes down there.
[01:44:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Three of them aren't dressed.
[01:44:15] [SPEAKER_02]: 12 of them are.
[01:44:18] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm paying that guy 40.
[01:44:19] [SPEAKER_02]: That guy's 44.
[01:44:21] [SPEAKER_02]: This guy's getting 12.
[01:44:22] [SPEAKER_02]: This guy's getting eight.
[01:44:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Why is the $8 million guy out there putting up 20 shots
[01:44:27] [SPEAKER_02]: and the guy I'm giving $40 million to is sitting down here with his warm-up suit on?
[01:44:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[01:44:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And Oregon pulls off the 31-10 win.
[01:44:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Syracuse possession in overtime down three.
[01:44:40] [SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, I was looking at it and, you know, so when I look at it,
[01:44:44] [SPEAKER_00]: like I think Ron Holland has potential to be a star.
[01:44:47] [SPEAKER_00]: He's only 19 and he still can't shoot, but he has the athletic ability.
[01:44:53] [SPEAKER_00]: He has all that.
[01:44:54] [SPEAKER_00]: But the problem is is that you just drafted –
[01:44:57] [SPEAKER_02]: I've heard guys who can't shoot.
[01:44:58] [SPEAKER_02]: They've all sputtered up.
[01:44:59] [SPEAKER_00]: But the problem is is that you drafted a Sar Thompson last year
[01:45:04] [SPEAKER_00]: who is basically a less explosive Ron Holland.
[01:45:08] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, and then you got Jalen Duren that I brought up,
[01:45:12] [SPEAKER_00]: but you still have Isaiah Stewart as well,
[01:45:14] [SPEAKER_00]: who you're trying to turn into a stretch four,
[01:45:16] [SPEAKER_00]: and he's barely shooting over 30% from three.
[01:45:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Who's the guy that had finished drafts?
[01:45:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Joshua Jackson out of Kansas back in the day?
[01:45:24] [SPEAKER_02]: That's a good comparison, actually.
[01:45:26] [SPEAKER_02]: I think he went like fourth overall.
[01:45:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's a good comparison to Ron Holland, I think.
[01:45:31] [SPEAKER_02]: And Jay Billis' first critique of him was like,
[01:45:34] [SPEAKER_02]: he's a sugar.
[01:45:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Needs to work on his jump shot.
[01:45:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Where is he now?
[01:45:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Probably Israel.
[01:45:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Probably China.
[01:45:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Probably.
[01:45:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
[01:45:41] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, and, you know, so Detroit has nothing but talent,
[01:45:45] [SPEAKER_00]: but it just doesn't mesh.
[01:45:47] [SPEAKER_00]: They brought in B.J. Bickerstaff, so we'll see what he does.
[01:45:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think Washington will be as bad.
[01:45:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I just don't think they'll be good.
[01:45:55] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, same thing that you were talking about.
[01:45:57] [SPEAKER_00]: They probably should have traded Kuzma last year,
[01:46:00] [SPEAKER_00]: but maybe like now that, you know, time has passed,
[01:46:03] [SPEAKER_00]: maybe there's some patience involved,
[01:46:05] [SPEAKER_00]: and now you can get a better deal for him.
[01:46:07] [SPEAKER_00]: So, but I don't expect the Wizards to be in the playoff hunt
[01:46:11] [SPEAKER_00]: or in the play-in hunt.
[01:46:14] [SPEAKER_00]: But Atlanta is the team that I'm confused about.
[01:46:18] [SPEAKER_02]: Atlanta's going to be 38-54.
[01:46:21] [SPEAKER_00]: So the normal.
[01:46:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Standard.
[01:46:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Because they got rid of, or I shouldn't say got rid of,
[01:46:25] [SPEAKER_00]: that sounds so bad.
[01:46:26] [SPEAKER_00]: They traded the John Tate Murray for Dyson Daniels,
[01:46:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Larry Nance Jr., some picks.
[01:46:32] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, so they bring defense in that they didn't have.
[01:46:35] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, maybe now Jalen Johnson.
[01:46:37] [SPEAKER_02]: But Larry Nance gives you nothing offensively.
[01:46:39] [SPEAKER_02]: No, he doesn't.
[01:46:40] [SPEAKER_00]: But they have Jalen Johnson for that.
[01:46:42] [SPEAKER_00]: I've been waiting on DeAndre Carter for, I mean, DeAndre Hunter
[01:46:46] [SPEAKER_00]: for who knows how many years to look like Kawhi,
[01:46:49] [SPEAKER_00]: and it's just not happening.
[01:46:50] [SPEAKER_00]: So it ain't in there.
[01:46:51] [SPEAKER_00]: It ain't going to happen.
[01:46:52] [SPEAKER_00]: So Atlanta, I think, will still make the play-in.
[01:46:57] [SPEAKER_02]: The NBA is going to have to come up with new rules to help these teams
[01:47:01] [SPEAKER_02]: that are consistently 11 through 15 in a conference.
[01:47:06] [SPEAKER_02]: They're going to have to come up with new draft rules,
[01:47:09] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe give them more picks,
[01:47:10] [SPEAKER_02]: maybe allow them to carry 16 to 18 players versus the 15.
[01:47:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Because the way it's currently constructed,
[01:47:18] [SPEAKER_02]: guys are only going to big markets when they get their deals as far as free agents.
[01:47:25] [SPEAKER_02]: And then these small market teams are owners are looking at whatever the bottom line is,
[01:47:31] [SPEAKER_02]: and they're willing to move guys.
[01:47:33] [SPEAKER_02]: DeJounte Murray should have never gone to the Hawks.
[01:47:37] [SPEAKER_02]: The Hawks should have never been in that conversation.
[01:47:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Because something simple is like,
[01:47:42] [SPEAKER_02]: what are you going to do with Trey Young or DeJounte Murray?
[01:47:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And it never figured out.
[01:47:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Neither one of them played any defense.
[01:47:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Neither one of them were big enough to guard anybody else.
[01:47:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Neither one of them were offensively dynamic enough to cause any pressure on the other.
[01:47:58] [SPEAKER_02]: But Trey Young can shoot, but he can't dribble drive and finish in the lane because he's so small.
[01:48:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so I expect him to average.
[01:48:05] [SPEAKER_02]: He's not like Dame Lillard.
[01:48:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Like Dame is a stocky guy.
[01:48:08] [SPEAKER_02]: The guy.
[01:48:08] [SPEAKER_02]: He can finish in the lane.
[01:48:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm expecting 28 and 11 from Trey this year.
[01:48:13] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I don't know what the percentages will look like,
[01:48:15] [SPEAKER_00]: but he'll get the points.
[01:48:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I think the last play in spot is going to come down to Charlotte and Toronto.
[01:48:26] [SPEAKER_00]: I think that Charlotte is one more player away.
[01:48:30] [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't mean like, hey, they get a player and all of a sudden they're a contender.
[01:48:34] [SPEAKER_00]: I just mean, hey, maybe they get one more player and they could be a seven seed, six seed.
[01:48:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Because when I look at them, I like the talent that they have, that they're building.
[01:48:43] [SPEAKER_00]: They just don't have a lot of it.
[01:48:45] [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, LaMelo.
[01:48:48] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, LaMelo Ball.
[01:48:50] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, this guy missed so much time.
[01:48:53] [SPEAKER_00]: He's only played over 50 games once in his career.
[01:48:56] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Brandon Miller came in, surprised us.
[01:48:59] [SPEAKER_02]: So you got Charlotte's potential playoff team?
[01:49:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Play in as like the very last seed.
[01:49:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Because like you always say, 66% of the damn teams make the playoffs.
[01:49:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
[01:49:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.
[01:49:12] [SPEAKER_02]: Damn near everybody makes the playoffs.
[01:49:13] [SPEAKER_00]: But not because they're good.
[01:49:15] [SPEAKER_00]: You know.
[01:49:15] [SPEAKER_02]: They're expected to go 2260 per the week's report.
[01:49:18] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, you got Miles Bridges back.
[01:49:21] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I like Keontae Johnson.
[01:49:23] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, he was a rookie last year.
[01:49:26] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, they got my guy KJ Simpson.
[01:49:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure.
[01:49:29] [SPEAKER_00]: He'll probably be in the G lead.
[01:49:30] [SPEAKER_00]: They picked up Grant Williams late last year.
[01:49:33] [SPEAKER_00]: You know, they got Seth Curry still.
[01:49:36] [SPEAKER_00]: And they picked up Josh Green from Dallas in the offseason.
[01:49:40] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think.
[01:49:41] [SPEAKER_02]: If I'm looking at the Hornets.
[01:49:45] [SPEAKER_02]: I look at it like this.
[01:49:47] [SPEAKER_02]: I break down the season of quarters, 21 games each.
[01:49:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I can see them 6 and 15 after that first 21 games, that first quarter.
[01:49:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And making business decisions.
[01:50:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And getting rid of guys.
[01:50:02] [SPEAKER_02]: That's the difference between these teams that are 10 to 15 every year in their conference.
[01:50:08] [SPEAKER_02]: There's not a lot of reprieve.
[01:50:10] [SPEAKER_02]: There's not a lot of hope after the first quarter.
[01:50:13] [SPEAKER_02]: So I get what you're saying.
[01:50:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I get what you're saying.
[01:50:16] [SPEAKER_00]: But if you think about it, though.
[01:50:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Atlanta made the play in last year at 36 and 46.
[01:50:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but that would.
[01:50:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
[01:50:26] [SPEAKER_02]: But if I have you.
[01:50:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Because I guess.
[01:50:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I think a lot of these trade conversations come about.
[01:50:32] [SPEAKER_02]: With trading this top talent.
[01:50:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Because like LaMelo Ball is a talented basketball player.
[01:50:37] [SPEAKER_02]: He's probably one of the most talented ones on the Hornets.
[01:50:40] [SPEAKER_02]: But when it doesn't work out.
[01:50:42] [SPEAKER_02]: He's always on the chopping block.
[01:50:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Same thing with New Orleans and Brandon Ingram.
[01:50:46] [SPEAKER_02]: There's no reason for Brandon Ingram.
[01:50:49] [SPEAKER_02]: CJ McCollum.
[01:50:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Zion Williamson.
[01:50:52] [SPEAKER_02]: For that not to work.
[01:50:53] [SPEAKER_02]: You play three different spots on the floor.
[01:50:55] [SPEAKER_02]: You play everything you do differently.
[01:50:58] [SPEAKER_02]: You are literally.
[01:51:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Do your job.
[01:51:01] [SPEAKER_02]: You're.
[01:51:02] [SPEAKER_02]: You're.
[01:51:04] [SPEAKER_02]: You know.
[01:51:06] [SPEAKER_02]: A.
[01:51:06] [SPEAKER_02]: A.
[01:51:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Financially favorable version.
[01:51:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Of KD.
[01:51:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Or KG.
[01:51:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Paul Pierce.
[01:51:12] [SPEAKER_02]: And Ray Allen.
[01:51:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Because like.
[01:51:13] [SPEAKER_02]: As far as like.
[01:51:14] [SPEAKER_02]: The space you create on the floor.
[01:51:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Because that's why.
[01:51:16] [SPEAKER_02]: You're creating a matchup.
[01:51:23] [SPEAKER_02]: The chemistry thing.
[01:51:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And I think with LaMelo Ball.
[01:51:25] [SPEAKER_02]: If they are starting out.
[01:51:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Seven and 14.
[01:51:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Six and 15.
[01:51:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Those trade rumors.
[01:51:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Are going to ramp up.
[01:51:31] [SPEAKER_02]: And.
[01:51:31] [SPEAKER_02]: They're going to purge.
[01:51:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Because.
[01:51:34] [SPEAKER_02]: The owners still split revenue.
[01:51:36] [SPEAKER_02]: The owners still get paid.
[01:51:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Off the overall check.
[01:51:39] [SPEAKER_02]: That the NBA.
[01:51:41] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[01:51:42] [SPEAKER_02]: So.
[01:51:43] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not as if.
[01:51:44] [SPEAKER_02]: If I trade LaMelo Ball.
[01:51:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And I got to drop these ticket prices.
[01:51:47] [SPEAKER_02]: From.
[01:51:48] [SPEAKER_02]: 250.
[01:51:49] [SPEAKER_02]: To 125.
[01:51:50] [SPEAKER_02]: He's still getting paid.
[01:51:51] [SPEAKER_02]: Off the fact.
[01:51:52] [SPEAKER_02]: That they have this TV deal.
[01:51:53] [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[01:51:54] [SPEAKER_02]: He or she.
[01:51:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Whoever is.
[01:51:55] [SPEAKER_02]: You know.
[01:51:55] [SPEAKER_02]: The trustee of the group.
[01:51:57] [SPEAKER_02]: And that looks like.
[01:51:58] [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of these teams.
[01:51:59] [SPEAKER_02]: I feel like a lot of these teams.
[01:52:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Are just kind of.
[01:52:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Because.
[01:52:03] [SPEAKER_02]: You don't come.
[01:52:04] [SPEAKER_02]: You.
[01:52:04] [SPEAKER_02]: You.
[01:52:05] [SPEAKER_02]: You don't go from.
[01:52:06] [SPEAKER_02]: Worst to first in the NBA.
[01:52:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Ever.
[01:52:11] [SPEAKER_00]: No.
[01:52:11] [SPEAKER_00]: It's doesn't happen.
[01:52:12] [SPEAKER_00]: It's not.
[01:52:12] [SPEAKER_00]: It's not set up that way.
[01:52:13] [SPEAKER_02]: So.
[01:52:14] [SPEAKER_02]: If.
[01:52:14] [SPEAKER_02]: If.
[01:52:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm the coach of the team.
[01:52:16] [SPEAKER_02]: If I'm the GM of a team.
[01:52:18] [SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to our third year.
[01:52:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Third or fourth year right now.
[01:52:21] [SPEAKER_02]: It's 2024.
[01:52:22] [SPEAKER_02]: 2025 season.
[01:52:24] [SPEAKER_02]: If I'm one of these teams.
[01:52:25] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like.
[01:52:26] [SPEAKER_02]: This is about to be.
[01:52:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Our fourth consecutive.
[01:52:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Year.
[01:52:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Two teams.
[01:52:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Out of the play-in.
[01:52:34] [SPEAKER_02]: Like our fourth consecutive.
[01:52:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Year.
[01:52:36] [SPEAKER_02]: We're battling to get 12.
[01:52:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Then.
[01:52:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Once I recognize that.
[01:52:42] [SPEAKER_02]: By December.
[01:52:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh.
[01:52:43] [SPEAKER_02]: You know.
[01:52:44] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a reverse big story.
[01:52:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Come get whatever you want.
[01:52:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[01:52:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[01:52:48] [SPEAKER_00]: So.
[01:52:49] [SPEAKER_00]: So.
[01:52:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Then the last team.
[01:52:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I'll talk about.
[01:52:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Before we get out of here.
[01:52:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Is Toronto.
[01:52:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Because now.
[01:52:54] [SPEAKER_00]: No.
[01:52:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Adenobi.
[01:52:55] [SPEAKER_00]: No.
[01:52:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Pascal.
[01:52:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Siakam.
[01:52:58] [SPEAKER_00]: All.
[01:52:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Scotty Barnes.
[01:53:00] [SPEAKER_00]: So.
[01:53:00] [SPEAKER_00]: He was drafted.
[01:53:01] [SPEAKER_00]: To be.
[01:53:02] [SPEAKER_00]: The future of the Raptors.
[01:53:03] [SPEAKER_00]: He was drafted.
[01:53:04] [SPEAKER_00]: To be a 610 point guard.
[01:53:06] [SPEAKER_00]: You know.
[01:53:07] [SPEAKER_00]: They went out and got.
[01:53:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Emmanuel.
[01:53:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Quickly.
[01:53:10] [SPEAKER_00]: They went out and got.
[01:53:11] [SPEAKER_00]: R.J.
[01:53:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Barrett.
[01:53:12] [SPEAKER_00]: They brought in.
[01:53:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Bruce Brown.
[01:53:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Last year.
[01:53:14] [SPEAKER_00]: They went and drafted.
[01:53:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Grady Dick.
[01:53:16] [SPEAKER_00]: You know.
[01:53:16] [SPEAKER_00]: So Toronto.
[01:53:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Toronto has.
[01:53:18] [SPEAKER_00]: The requisite parts.
[01:53:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I believe.
[01:53:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Around Scotty Barnes.
[01:53:23] [SPEAKER_00]: For Scotty Barnes.
[01:53:24] [SPEAKER_00]: To play the role.
[01:53:25] [SPEAKER_00]: That they want him to play.
[01:53:26] [SPEAKER_00]: The question is.
[01:53:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Can Scotty Barnes.
[01:53:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Be.
[01:53:29] [SPEAKER_00]: What Toronto.
[01:53:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Needs him to be.
[01:53:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Or wants him to be.
[01:53:33] [SPEAKER_00]: They have.
[01:53:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Jakob Pertl.
[01:53:34] [SPEAKER_00]: You know.
[01:53:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Go Utes.
[01:53:36] [SPEAKER_00]: You know.
[01:53:36] [SPEAKER_00]: In the front court.
[01:53:37] [SPEAKER_00]: So I think Toronto.
[01:53:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Is going to be a pesky team.
[01:53:40] [SPEAKER_00]: You know.
[01:53:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Your typical.
[01:53:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Eight seed.
[01:53:43] [SPEAKER_00]: You know.
[01:53:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Just plays hard.
[01:53:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Basketball.
[01:53:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Plays tough.
[01:53:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Ain't got a chance.
[01:53:47] [SPEAKER_00]: In hell.
[01:53:47] [SPEAKER_00]: To beat anybody.
[01:53:48] [SPEAKER_00]: With a pulse.
[01:53:50] [SPEAKER_00]: But they'll be.
[01:53:51] [SPEAKER_00]: The grinder team.
[01:53:52] [SPEAKER_00]: That potentially.
[01:53:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Gets into the play in.
[01:53:56] [SPEAKER_02]: Well.
[01:53:56] [SPEAKER_02]: The beauty part.
[01:53:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Like I said.
[01:53:59] [SPEAKER_02]: 66% of the league.
[01:54:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Makes.
[01:54:01] [SPEAKER_02]: The playoffs.
[01:54:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Um.
[01:54:06] [SPEAKER_02]: So if you want to.
[01:54:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Rest your head on that.
[01:54:08] [SPEAKER_02]: As a.
[01:54:08] [SPEAKER_02]: As a GM.
[01:54:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Or an owner.
[01:54:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Then you're good to go.
[01:54:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Well I mean.
[01:54:12] [SPEAKER_00]: It depends on.
[01:54:12] [SPEAKER_00]: It's right.
[01:54:13] [SPEAKER_00]: It's progress.
[01:54:14] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean.
[01:54:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Like if you're a team that.
[01:54:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Won 20 games.
[01:54:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Like the Spurs.
[01:54:18] [SPEAKER_00]: If you're the Spurs.
[01:54:19] [SPEAKER_00]: And you know.
[01:54:20] [SPEAKER_00]: You won what.
[01:54:21] [SPEAKER_00]: 22 games.
[01:54:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe last year.
[01:54:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Something on those lines.
[01:54:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[01:54:24] [SPEAKER_00]: The play in is an accomplishment.
[01:54:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Because that probably means that.
[01:54:28] [SPEAKER_00]: You've won 15 to 16 more games.
[01:54:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Than the year prior.
[01:54:31] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean.
[01:54:32] [SPEAKER_00]: So.
[01:54:32] [SPEAKER_00]: But obviously.
[01:54:33] [SPEAKER_00]: If you're a team.
[01:54:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Like say Memphis.
[01:54:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Bringing back.
[01:54:36] [SPEAKER_00]: John Morant.
[01:54:36] [SPEAKER_00]: You're not trying to hear a play in.
[01:54:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I think it is.
[01:54:38] [SPEAKER_02]: You know.
[01:54:38] [SPEAKER_02]: You draft sack.
[01:54:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Ed.
[01:54:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Big bite in the middle.
[01:54:41] [SPEAKER_02]: A lot.
[01:54:41] [SPEAKER_02]: You know.
[01:54:41] [SPEAKER_02]: As a Canadian.
[01:54:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[01:54:42] [SPEAKER_00]: So it just depends on who you are.
[01:54:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I think for a team like Toronto.
[01:54:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I think for a team like Atlanta.
[01:54:47] [SPEAKER_00]: You're like.
[01:54:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Y'all I'm fucking tired of the play in.
[01:54:50] [SPEAKER_00]: Like we live in the play in.
[01:54:52] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean.
[01:54:52] [SPEAKER_00]: So like.
[01:54:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Even though they're not necessarily.
[01:54:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Don't trade away all your talent.
[01:54:56] [SPEAKER_02]: When it gets little rocky.
[01:54:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Just saying.
[01:54:58] [SPEAKER_00]: You know.
[01:54:58] [SPEAKER_00]: But if you're a team like Charlotte.
[01:55:01] [SPEAKER_00]: You're just happy to be on TV.
[01:55:02] [SPEAKER_00]: First of all.
[01:55:03] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean.
[01:55:04] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[01:55:04] [SPEAKER_02]: But that's the thing.
[01:55:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Charlotte has a star.
[01:55:07] [SPEAKER_02]: They do.
[01:55:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Charlotte has.
[01:55:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Hey Atlanta got a star.
[01:55:10] [SPEAKER_02]: A nationwide.
[01:55:12] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think.
[01:55:13] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think.
[01:55:14] [SPEAKER_02]: You know.
[01:55:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Granted we don't really get in this hole.
[01:55:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Like who's the biggest star.
[01:55:17] [SPEAKER_00]: People love Ice Trey.
[01:55:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Not.
[01:55:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Not that much.
[01:55:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Not that much.
[01:55:22] [SPEAKER_02]: I think LaMelo Ball.
[01:55:24] [SPEAKER_02]: First of all.
[01:55:24] [SPEAKER_02]: He's a ball.
[01:55:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh.
[01:55:27] [SPEAKER_02]: He's tall.
[01:55:28] [SPEAKER_02]: He's very.
[01:55:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Like he's very tall.
[01:55:29] [SPEAKER_02]: He stands out.
[01:55:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Tattooed up.
[01:55:31] [SPEAKER_02]: He has the Facebook show.
[01:55:33] [SPEAKER_02]: He has the brother.
[01:55:34] [SPEAKER_02]: He has the dad.
[01:55:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Like.
[01:55:35] [SPEAKER_02]: They have a whole mystique.
[01:55:36] [SPEAKER_02]: That comes along with it.
[01:55:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I just think Charlotte's going to.
[01:55:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Be one of those teams.
[01:55:40] [SPEAKER_02]: That pulls the trigger.
[01:55:41] [SPEAKER_02]: And he's going to end up.
[01:55:43] [SPEAKER_02]: On the Clippers.
[01:55:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Or something like that.
[01:55:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And speaking of which.
[01:55:45] [SPEAKER_00]: You know.
[01:55:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Said it's being projected.
[01:55:47] [SPEAKER_00]: That Lonzo Ball.
[01:55:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Is actually going to be on the court.
[01:55:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Opening night.
[01:55:53] [SPEAKER_02]: It's incredible.
[01:55:54] [SPEAKER_02]: That he's.
[01:55:54] [SPEAKER_02]: It is.
[01:55:55] [SPEAKER_02]: So much time.
[01:55:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Three years.
[01:55:58] [SPEAKER_00]: His last game was January 2021.
[01:56:00] [SPEAKER_00]: 2021.
[01:56:02] [SPEAKER_02]: That was when.
[01:56:04] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean.
[01:56:05] [SPEAKER_02]: It depends on what day of the week it was.
[01:56:06] [SPEAKER_02]: That might have been like.
[01:56:08] [SPEAKER_02]: When they stormed the Capitol.
[01:56:10] [SPEAKER_00]: No.
[01:56:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it was.
[01:56:11] [SPEAKER_00]: It was after that.
[01:56:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I think it was after that.
[01:56:13] [SPEAKER_02]: Think about how long ago that was.
[01:56:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Like.
[01:56:14] [SPEAKER_02]: But just think about like.
[01:56:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Just think about like.
[01:56:17] [SPEAKER_02]: All of a sudden.
[01:56:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Went through like COVID.
[01:56:18] [SPEAKER_02]: And we had a whole election.
[01:56:20] [SPEAKER_02]: And it was like.
[01:56:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh.
[01:56:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it was stolen.
[01:56:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it wasn't.
[01:56:21] [SPEAKER_02]: It stormed the Capitol.
[01:56:22] [SPEAKER_02]: And then.
[01:56:23] [SPEAKER_02]: You had all these other things happen.
[01:56:25] [SPEAKER_02]: A whole new president.
[01:56:26] [SPEAKER_02]: He damn near.
[01:56:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Died.
[01:56:28] [SPEAKER_02]: You know.
[01:56:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Like.
[01:56:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Like.
[01:56:29] [SPEAKER_02]: We have all this stuff happen.
[01:56:31] [SPEAKER_02]: From the last time he's played an NBA game.
[01:56:33] [SPEAKER_02]: And he's in his 20s.
[01:56:36] [SPEAKER_02]: That's just.
[01:56:37] [SPEAKER_02]: It's just a strange.
[01:56:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Like.
[01:56:38] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[01:56:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe.
[01:56:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe we'll have Trump get on TV.
[01:56:40] [SPEAKER_00]: And say that the Sixers are eating the Hornets.
[01:56:44] [SPEAKER_00]: You know.
[01:56:45] [SPEAKER_02]: Eating the cat.
[01:56:46] [SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
[01:56:46] [SPEAKER_02]: They're eating cats.
[01:56:48] [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm saying.
[01:56:49] [SPEAKER_00]: But Joe.
[01:56:49] [SPEAKER_00]: We will be back on Monday.
[01:56:51] [SPEAKER_00]: With.
[01:56:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Or Tuesday.
[01:56:52] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
[01:56:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Tuesday.
[01:56:54] [SPEAKER_00]: With reaction.
[01:56:55] [SPEAKER_00]: You know.
[01:56:55] [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about Jimbo Fisher.
[01:56:57] [SPEAKER_00]: And his NIL comments.
[01:56:59] [SPEAKER_00]: So.
[01:56:59] [SPEAKER_00]: You know.
[01:57:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Do yourself a favor.
[01:57:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Have some fun this weekend.
[01:57:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Enjoy life.
[01:57:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Enjoy football.
[01:57:06] [SPEAKER_00]: And then do us a favor.
[01:57:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Like.
[01:57:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Review.
[01:57:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Subscribe.
[01:57:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Share.
[01:57:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Rate.
[01:57:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Do all the free things.
[01:57:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
[01:57:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Do all the good things.
[01:57:16] [SPEAKER_00]: We love you.
[01:57:17] [SPEAKER_00]: See you in a few days.
[01:57:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Peace.
