There is more to the NBA than Purple & Gold. Refs are just...bad. The guys react to the Battle of the North and how are the champs doing this? Tennessee outlasts Alabama and allow Georgia to reintroduce themselves.

[00:00:05] Yes, you are now listening to the sounds of Sports Reports As Ordered. And yo, it's time to talk some NFL recap, recapping some college football. I got a solution to the Patrick Mahomes problem. Myself, 2-5, you're an orthodox statistician and as you can see, I do not, I repeat, I do not hate Julius Randle.
[00:00:34] And then across from me, we have the one and only. Born in Texas, raised in VA, representing New Jeruz to the point that he want all y'all to know that Naughty by Nature is way more influential than NWA. Holla if you hear him flow. Don't bring feelings to a fat fight.
[00:00:53] Don't do it.
[00:00:55] He is, Mr. Logical. And of course we gonna get this thing started off with, get it off my chest.
[00:01:02] So get it off my chest goes a little bit like this. Tonight, the association is back. That does not mean that only LeBron James has returned.
[00:01:17] The idea here is watch basketball. There are plenty of exciting players, exciting teams. Hell, just watch to see who has new city uniforms. You know, right now we're watching the defending champions hit three after three to make us say Golden State who?
[00:01:36] This is Golden State without Klay Thompson. I know you want to know what that looks like. You thought SGA was MVP last year? So did I. Let's watch him this year. Let's talk about him this year.
[00:01:49] I was scrolling on X earlier today. And then, you know, someone had, I guess, made a comment at Shannon Sharp. And they said, why y'all still talking about the Cowboys? And that's how I feel right now. There's 30 teams in this league. The Lakers aren't even a contender.
[00:02:08] You know, I can't even say with full confidence that the Lakers are top 12 team in the league.
[00:02:17] So check out Sacramento. They went out and got DeMar DeVrosan.
[00:02:21] You know, check out the Knicks with their new toys. We're about to see Minnesota and Nas Reed and the gang right now without Carl Anthony Towns.
[00:02:29] Oh, by the way, Mr. Logical's outfit just reminded me, I'm sorry, but you won't see Joel Embiid or Paul George tomorrow.
[00:02:40] You know, but if you're into Tyrese Maxey, he'll be there. The freak will be there.
[00:02:46] So the point is, there is so much basketball to be had. And now we're at an inflection point.
[00:02:53] That's my new phrase now, you know, after I used it on Georgia and Texas the other day.
[00:02:57] So now we're at an inflection point where my mission is to find out where are the real basketball fans?
[00:03:05] Where are you? Show yourselves. We don't care about ratings. We don't care who makes the finals.
[00:03:12] We're here to watch basketball. We're here to talk about everyone in the league.
[00:03:18] That includes the Pistons. That includes the Hornets because they still got LaMelo Ball.
[00:03:26] You know what I mean? Like I'm watching the Wizards just to see what Jordan Poole is going to do next.
[00:03:31] That's Howard Stern style. So join me as we embrace a new basketball season.
[00:03:38] And let's make basketball great again. Brought to you by Liquid Death, of course.
[00:03:47] I feel you. I like how you mentioned those three teams.
[00:03:51] This is funny that the three teams you mentioned are going to have a combined like 67 wins.
[00:03:59] That's all right.
[00:04:01] I'm with it. I'm with it.
[00:04:03] That's all right. Everybody got to know where Cooper Flagg going next year, right?
[00:04:07] He's going to OKC.
[00:04:09] OK.
[00:04:11] Yeah. The Clippers are going to be so bad that the Paul George trade that they made like some years back,
[00:04:17] somehow Cooper Flagg could end up in OKC.
[00:04:22] I don't know. I mean, I don't know, but it would be crazy if it did happen.
[00:04:27] Right.
[00:04:27] This is a Ben Simmons jersey.
[00:04:29] The only reason I have it is because it's after they traded him to Brooklyn and it was $20 at Foot Locker or Chance.
[00:04:36] And I got the discount. So it was like $17.50.
[00:04:39] So it was like this is a few years back.
[00:04:42] But I just thought it was dope that it was on sale.
[00:04:45] Like $20? Yeah, I'll get it.
[00:04:47] Yeah, I might get off my chest a little different.
[00:04:49] I like Mike's getting that.
[00:04:50] We'll see. Like I said, we'll see who the real fans are, even the pundits,
[00:04:54] because it's like there's got to be teams that they're like Boston's performance tonight should be raved about.
[00:05:00] I think they're up to like 33 pointers at this point.
[00:05:03] The last time I checked.
[00:05:06] You had a mix shot 55 percent in the first quarter and we're down 19.
[00:05:10] 19. Yeah.
[00:05:11] They're down like 35 points right now.
[00:05:12] They have they got like 90, they have 96 points, 90, 93, 94 points.
[00:05:19] And it's nine minutes left in the game and they're down 35 points.
[00:05:24] It's not it's not you can do when people are just hot.
[00:05:26] The champs are here.
[00:05:28] Champs are here.
[00:05:30] Speaking of champs, I fear that referees once again are going to play a bigger role in championship games.
[00:05:44] Then I say at all levels.
[00:05:46] I've talked about the referees before.
[00:05:48] I think my biggest problem I have with referees is.
[00:05:52] They behave as if they didn't make a bad call ever.
[00:05:58] Like every call they made was spot on.
[00:06:01] A couple of things I noticed.
[00:06:03] I believe it was a call against LSU last week.
[00:06:06] They got a guy for targeting.
[00:06:10] And what can he do if he's trying to go low and the other guy is falling down as he's trying?
[00:06:16] Like you tell everyone, don't hit anybody in the head.
[00:06:18] These guys try to go low and hit him in the waist.
[00:06:21] The running, the receiving player, the player with the ball, the offensive player leans in to try to get his shoulder in.
[00:06:28] And the heads collide.
[00:06:29] You're like, oh, that's on the defense.
[00:06:31] Just doesn't make any sense to me.
[00:06:32] Then they review it and they uphold it.
[00:06:34] Kick a guy out.
[00:06:35] It happened again in the Georgia game.
[00:06:37] But the main thing I'm talking about is the reversal of the call in the Texas-Georgia game.
[00:06:43] I know it didn't have any true effect on the outcome, but it did swing momentum.
[00:06:49] My issue is, if you guys are unfamiliar, they had the pass interference call on Texas's interception.
[00:06:57] Texas returns it inside the 10.
[00:07:01] Then the student section starts throwing trash onto the field.
[00:07:05] And then in the midst of that, in that break that the rest had to deal with that, a conversation was had.
[00:07:12] They came back out and said there was no pass.
[00:07:14] After further discussion, there was no pass interference.
[00:07:18] Texas ball.
[00:07:20] And it's like, what rule did you apply to this discussion?
[00:07:26] Like I said, you can see my military retirement certificates behind me.
[00:07:31] Everything is always like, okay, what reference did you use for this action?
[00:07:36] Hey, I'm allowed to apply for basic preference because I'm at five years.
[00:07:43] I've been at this base this long.
[00:07:45] I'm a first-term airman per AFI 36-2618 or whatever, whatever the regulation.
[00:07:53] Like it's a paragraph in there that says I can do this.
[00:07:55] Or something you want to do is say, hey, there could be an exception to policy.
[00:07:59] But something has to be pulled from in order for you to change these situations.
[00:08:06] They just talked during the chaos and said, yo, I didn't really see it.
[00:08:10] Are you sure?
[00:08:11] Like, I guess maybe I did see it.
[00:08:12] Maybe I didn't.
[00:08:13] But it's like, how do you do that in the game?
[00:08:16] Because what if Texas would have came back?
[00:08:19] I mean, like that changes the whole game.
[00:08:22] And they end up losing the game on the last second field goal because you gave them a possession.
[00:08:27] You gave them momentum at home.
[00:08:29] The targeting calls, just the bad calls in general is like, I get that refs are going to miss calls.
[00:08:36] But if something is close on the field, then the refs on the field, once it goes to New York or go to some other subsidiary to review it, that should be the final word.
[00:08:48] Because some of these calls you see is like, all right, like the Miami-Virginia Tech game.
[00:08:54] It's like you reviewed that for about seven minutes.
[00:08:57] Came back and overturned it.
[00:08:59] That looks suspicious.
[00:09:00] Like I said, I don't believe anything is set up.
[00:09:02] But it's like, if you got the call wrong, then you should send it off and let them correct it with all the camera angles.
[00:09:10] Or at least get the camera angles that the TV has.
[00:09:13] Like you shouldn't be limited in your replay review.
[00:09:16] Like you shouldn't have less camera angles than CBS.
[00:09:21] Like if you're looking at the film.
[00:09:22] So it's like, it's just so many problems that comes along with the way that they are managing the referees.
[00:09:28] But it's like, they better figure it out before the championship run starts.
[00:09:32] Because it's looking like it's going to be a dandy of a fucking college football playoff.
[00:09:36] It's going to be a lot of teams that we're going to get into who's undefeated, who isn't.
[00:09:42] You know, you got teams like Indiana, BYU, Georgia State's going to try to claim this.
[00:09:46] It's going to be a lot of games where it's going to matter to where you, you know, you make a couple of bad calls against BYU and they get that loss.
[00:09:56] And all of a sudden the 9-3 LSU team gets in because BYU didn't get in because of a bad call.
[00:10:02] You know, stuff like that.
[00:10:03] So they really need to iron this out because I don't want the refs to have an impact.
[00:10:07] I don't want to know the referees' names when the championship games are going on.
[00:10:13] Fair enough.
[00:10:14] You know, it's kind of crazy when you think about it because literally in the Texas game, you know, a lot of times when you see pass interference overturned, it's usually right away.
[00:10:28] You know, like last night we had an instance in Tampa Bay and Baltimore where Tampa was trying to make their comeback.
[00:10:36] Ravens corner jammed the receiver at the line.
[00:10:39] Or no, I'm sorry, wrong game.
[00:10:41] I'm sorry.
[00:10:41] Chargers and Cardinals.
[00:10:42] The Chargers were trying to get into their game-winning field goal.
[00:10:46] They were jammed at the line, refs threw the flag because the ball was thrown, and immediately the other refs came over and was like, that was uncatchable.
[00:10:57] You know what I'm saying?
[00:10:58] And of course it was uncatchable because dude held him at the line before he could even get off.
[00:11:02] You know what I'm saying?
[00:11:03] But Harbaugh was losing his mind on the sidelines.
[00:11:06] I mean, he was going berserk.
[00:11:08] And I couldn't disagree with him because even though the ball was uncatchable, like if the ball is thrown over there, you still have to let the receiver do something.
[00:11:22] Well, if you're within that five yards.
[00:11:23] If you're within the five yards, yeah.
[00:11:25] It's free-wraged.
[00:11:26] At six yards, it's a penalty.
[00:11:28] And then you go-
[00:11:29] Five yards, and you got to get stronger on the outside.
[00:11:31] But then when you go look back at it, you go, well, then maybe the flag shouldn't even have been thrown in the first place.
[00:11:36] The problem is my last two weeks, my son's high school football games, we had a play where a quarterback was running.
[00:11:50] He got hit.
[00:11:51] It looked like a tackle.
[00:11:53] He landed on the linebacker, but I don't think he touched the ground.
[00:12:01] The refs on the field blew the whistle immediately.
[00:12:04] He gets up thinking that he wasn't down, but the whistle was blown.
[00:12:09] They much more blew their whistles.
[00:12:10] And then he gets hit by like the safety coming in.
[00:12:14] The two refs throw their flags and then talk to each other and wave the flag off.
[00:12:21] Right.
[00:12:21] It's like who, both of you threw flags.
[00:12:25] How'd you talk yourselves out of the flag?
[00:12:30] That you threw.
[00:12:31] Both of you threw simultaneously at the same time.
[00:12:35] One threw one from the goal line, one threw one from the sideline.
[00:12:38] The flags basically touched.
[00:12:40] That's ridiculous.
[00:12:41] Where the Bernie was.
[00:12:41] And then they talked to each other and was like, not waving it off.
[00:12:45] And I was like, what the hell?
[00:12:46] And then we got it like a, they got another penalty on the next play, like we're off in the passer.
[00:12:50] And then there was a face mask penalty.
[00:12:55] Like they came in to sack the quarterback.
[00:12:57] They got the face mask.
[00:12:58] So we had the ball at the eight.
[00:13:01] Drop back penalty.
[00:13:03] They moved the ball up to like the 14.
[00:13:07] And I'm like, I'm screaming for the bleachers.
[00:13:09] Like, yo, that's a 15-yard penalty.
[00:13:12] And they're like looking around at each other.
[00:13:14] I'm like, move it more.
[00:13:17] Like to the 23.
[00:13:19] And I'm looking at the coaches.
[00:13:20] Like no one's.
[00:13:21] Why is nobody bringing this up?
[00:13:23] I'm going to high school and y'all don't know how to do math.
[00:13:26] But once again, like that impacts the game because sometimes like in high school, for some reason, personal fouls aren't automatic first downs.
[00:13:34] Like, so if it's like third and 25 and you get a face mask, then it's just third and 10.
[00:13:39] I'm like, who?
[00:13:40] Like that has to be wrong.
[00:13:42] But that seems to be the rule.
[00:13:43] I'm like, it still was, it was second and 10 from the eight.
[00:13:48] The ball should be first and 10 from the 23.
[00:13:51] They were like at the 16th and they moved in.
[00:13:53] They picked it up.
[00:13:54] They're looking at each other.
[00:13:55] I'm like, y'all can't be this confusing.
[00:13:57] And that was the beginning of the game.
[00:13:58] I looked at one of the dads.
[00:13:59] I'm like, this is going to be a tough game.
[00:14:01] They're going to have to win it because these refs are going.
[00:14:03] And they were butchering it all day long.
[00:14:04] It's like.
[00:14:05] Yeah.
[00:14:06] That's nuts.
[00:14:07] Yeah.
[00:14:08] But you know, the referees didn't necessarily affect this unless you think they did.
[00:14:16] Because there was a play on the same drive.
[00:14:19] Patrick Mahomes did his best Reggie Bush and Cam Newton impersonation.
[00:14:25] You know, he's running up the sideline, quick pause, pump the ball.
[00:14:29] You know, defender was scared to hit him because he's Patrick Mahomes.
[00:14:32] You know, he gets to the end zone.
[00:14:33] He hits Mustafa, who looks like he should be in WWE.
[00:14:36] But for some, somehow Patrick Mahomes knocked him over.
[00:14:40] So I came up with a solution to stop Patrick Mahomes and this Chiefs referee thing that people think are going on in the league.
[00:14:52] Bring back Bounty Gate.
[00:14:55] God, I've read that.
[00:14:56] I've read that comment.
[00:14:57] Put Patrick Mahomes on his ass.
[00:15:00] There's no reason.
[00:15:02] Look, I get it, right?
[00:15:03] You don't want to hit the quarterback, that particular quarterback, because no other quarterback probably gets the grace that he gets.
[00:15:09] The same way that when you got close to Tom Brady's feet, there was a flag coming.
[00:15:15] Ask your guy, Brady?
[00:15:17] Brady Jarrett, yeah.
[00:15:18] Yeah, Brady Jarrett.
[00:15:19] Yep, ask him about it.
[00:15:20] You get close enough to Tom Brady, that flag was coming.
[00:15:23] But you saw Cam Newton get smacked up every single week.
[00:15:28] You know what I mean?
[00:15:28] Josh Allen was the same way.
[00:15:29] Josh Allen, Andrew Luck, these guys got pounding after pounding.
[00:15:34] Pause.
[00:15:35] You know what I mean?
[00:15:36] But Patrick Mahomes seems to get me.
[00:15:39] And it goes back to, even though it was the correct call, it goes back to that Bengal Chiefs AFC Championship game where he ran out of bounds.
[00:15:50] It was the right call.
[00:15:51] You know, but it was one of those calls that I think a lot of people, whether they were right or wrong, the thought was, do y'all call that if it's the other way around?
[00:16:01] Because the Chiefs just seem, I'm not saying there's anything, you know, going on, but the Chiefs just seem to benefit from these things.
[00:16:09] You know?
[00:16:10] So as I was watching this game.
[00:16:11] But I think they benefit from it because ultimately when these calls happen, good, bad, or indifferent, they still win.
[00:16:19] They take advantage of it.
[00:16:21] We can go back to, because I had this conversation with my pops.
[00:16:28] I had this conversation with my pops.
[00:16:55] And it had a penalty.
[00:16:56] So the thing is, they just, when they have a play like that, they just come back and get, they just get the, they still make it happen.
[00:17:06] They still ultimately end up winning the game.
[00:17:08] I think everybody gets bad calls.
[00:17:09] Like, it's like Aaron Rodgers called it out.
[00:17:11] He's like the rough in the passer on him was the rough in the passer when Milano was trying to punch the ball out last week.
[00:17:17] So I think we need to create a new segment, you know, because we got get it off my chest.
[00:17:22] I think we should create, I want to know.
[00:17:25] And I want to know that why is it whenever, you know, this Shanahan guy, Kyle Shanahan, gets in these big games, he forgets that it's the run game that got him to where the 49ers get to.
[00:17:41] It got his father to multiple Super Bowl championships.
[00:17:44] But he seems to not want to do it.
[00:17:47] Like, I don't know, like, because I know, like, Christian McCaffrey isn't there.
[00:17:50] But that's not an excuse because Jordan Mason is second in the league in rushing.
[00:17:54] And, you know, so when I look at this, they had 31 passes.
[00:17:59] Brock Purdy attempted 31 passes against the Chiefs.
[00:18:02] And taking out Brock Purdy's eight scrambles or runs, they ran the ball 16 times.
[00:18:11] That's not a formula to beat the Chiefs.
[00:18:13] But we see it every single time there's a dynastic team with a quarterback that's playing at a different level than everybody else historically.
[00:18:24] Even not in that moment.
[00:18:26] We saw it with Tom Brady.
[00:18:27] We saw it with Peyton Manning.
[00:18:28] We saw it with Drew Brees.
[00:18:30] We saw it with, like, Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers.
[00:18:34] Sometimes these coaches get out there and they just forget points of points no matter who you're playing.
[00:18:41] Right.
[00:18:41] Because I hear all the time, you know, commentators, you get down to the red zone.
[00:18:45] It'll be the first drive of the game.
[00:18:47] Kansas City won't even have the ball yet.
[00:18:51] And you're at the six.
[00:18:52] And it, like, it's fourth and one from the six.
[00:18:55] They're like, you know, you're not going to beat this team with kicking field goals.
[00:18:58] I'm like, you can beat 3-0.
[00:19:00] You can beat 3-0.
[00:19:01] Like, if you get three points and they don't score, then you can win that game.
[00:19:06] But, like, so that's what I think that's what they do.
[00:19:08] So you get a few.
[00:19:09] Because Kansas City, like, I don't know how they have the talent that they have, like, across the board.
[00:19:18] Like, their defensive line.
[00:19:19] Granted, Chris Jones makes it work because, like, everyone else can play their position.
[00:19:24] Then you got Bolton and Chenault.
[00:19:28] And then you have, what's the boy named Drew Tranquil.
[00:19:35] You know, so they just have such an elite front seven that you think you have to get away from the run game.
[00:19:42] It's like, man, just keep running it.
[00:19:46] Dink and dunk.
[00:19:47] Dink, just do what you have to do to get points.
[00:19:51] Yeah.
[00:19:51] I mean, outside of the Ravens, the 49ers should be the team that runs play action the most.
[00:19:57] You know, like, and to run play action, you just got to have the threat of the run.
[00:20:02] You know, just, you know, like I said, you have the second leading rusher in the league.
[00:20:06] So why not run?
[00:20:07] And, I mean, Brock Purdy at this point, you know, nine touchdowns, seven interceptions.
[00:20:12] The crazy part about what the Chiefs are doing is that Mahomes right now is sitting on six touchdowns with eight interceptions.
[00:20:20] So it's not even one of those things where, you know, two years ago it was like Mahomes is just dominating.
[00:20:26] He's leading the team.
[00:20:27] Y'all know that he's only going to get better as the season goes on, right?
[00:20:31] So it might be.
[00:20:32] No, honestly, I think he's going to stay like this.
[00:20:34] You think he's going to stay like this the whole season?
[00:20:36] I think it's one touchdown, one interception, maybe a two-touchdown game.
[00:20:41] I don't, because I think they don't have the receiving core threat that he probably wants.
[00:20:52] But he knows, like, if I don't turn the ball over at the 40, we'll be fine.
[00:20:58] Well, that's why I'm scared.
[00:20:59] That's why I'm scared, because I just got this.
[00:21:03] But I don't think their offense is going to get better.
[00:21:05] Well, no, it's not that.
[00:21:06] It's not that.
[00:21:06] You're going to have to attack with your, like, whatever your strength is offensively as a team when you play them.
[00:21:11] You just got to stick to it.
[00:21:13] That's not what I'm afraid of.
[00:21:14] You got to stick to what you do.
[00:21:14] That's not what I'm afraid of.
[00:21:15] I'm afraid they're going to go out here and go get Cooper Cup.
[00:21:18] I was thinking that, too.
[00:21:20] That's what I'm scared of.
[00:21:23] You know, but before we even do that, before we even do that, we got to play our game again.
[00:21:29] Tell me when the Chiefs lose their first game.
[00:21:33] All right.
[00:21:34] All right.
[00:21:35] So I got it right here.
[00:21:36] So they got the Raiders this week, you know, on the road.
[00:21:38] That's a win.
[00:21:39] They get somehow, I don't know how this works, but they get Tampa on Monday Night Football next week.
[00:21:48] Even though Tampa was just on Monday Night Football this week.
[00:21:51] Wait, hold on.
[00:21:52] So the next game is what?
[00:21:53] So they get the Raiders this weekend.
[00:21:56] Then they get Tampa next Monday night.
[00:21:59] In two weeks?
[00:22:00] Yes, in two weeks, yes.
[00:22:02] Okay.
[00:22:03] Then they get Denver.
[00:22:06] Denver.
[00:22:07] So the Tampa game and the Denver game, both at home.
[00:22:10] Then they go to Buffalo.
[00:22:12] That's not 9-1 right there.
[00:22:14] Buffalo gets them.
[00:22:15] The Buffalo gets them?
[00:22:16] Buffalo gets them, yeah.
[00:22:18] Okay.
[00:22:18] Buffalo gets them because Buffalo has Amari Cooper.
[00:22:24] And we can look at the highlights.
[00:22:25] We can talk about the game that they had.
[00:22:28] Having Amari Cooper.
[00:22:30] And I watched the highlights.
[00:22:34] Having Amari Cooper in the lineup.
[00:22:38] It moved Keon Coleman to the second best defender.
[00:22:44] Or in the slot.
[00:22:45] Like, you're just allowed.
[00:22:46] You got Shakir open.
[00:22:50] Cooper in Buffalo is what people thought Adams to the Jets were going to be for Wilson.
[00:22:58] So, we saw Keon Coleman have the best game of his career by far.
[00:23:04] And all they did was just bring in one guy that could just take the coverage over here.
[00:23:10] And Keon could just run wide open underneath.
[00:23:14] So, I think Buffalo will be able to stick to that.
[00:23:17] And that's how they're going to get Kansas City.
[00:23:19] Okay.
[00:23:20] So, I know y'all play Tampa this week.
[00:23:23] Why was Chris Godwin on the field?
[00:23:26] Okay.
[00:23:27] Why was anybody on the field?
[00:23:29] Why was anybody on the field?
[00:23:30] Before that.
[00:23:31] They were down 23.
[00:23:37] And scored a touchdown.
[00:23:38] And went for two.
[00:23:40] Instead of just kicking extra point.
[00:23:43] To be down 16.
[00:23:45] Okay.
[00:23:46] No one's talking about that.
[00:23:49] They.
[00:23:50] You.
[00:23:52] If you kick the extra point and make it.
[00:23:54] You're down two possessions.
[00:23:58] But no, you were down.
[00:23:59] Like, they were going to be down.
[00:24:00] Yeah.
[00:24:00] They would be down two possessions.
[00:24:02] Yeah.
[00:24:02] They would be down 16.
[00:24:03] Yeah.
[00:24:04] But instead they were down 17.
[00:24:05] Got the onside kick.
[00:24:07] And then went for two to be down nine.
[00:24:09] It's like, well, it's pointless.
[00:24:11] You still need to feel goal either way.
[00:24:13] So, it's like they end up kicking.
[00:24:15] Like, they.
[00:24:16] If they would have gotten the extra point.
[00:24:18] Been down 16.
[00:24:19] Then got the onside kick.
[00:24:21] And they would have been down.
[00:24:22] And, you know, touchdown.
[00:24:25] So, once they weren't.
[00:24:27] And once that.
[00:24:27] Once that was not a possibility.
[00:24:29] They should have been off the field.
[00:24:31] Because, like, you're not going to.
[00:24:33] The likelihood of you getting 10 points.
[00:24:35] In less than a minute.
[00:24:38] And getting another extra point.
[00:24:40] When only two had been converted all season long.
[00:24:44] It just was unlikely.
[00:24:47] Yeah.
[00:24:47] So, now Chris Godwin looks like he's out for the season.
[00:24:50] Dislocated ankle.
[00:24:51] Mike Evans, of course, got hurt the first quarter last night.
[00:24:54] So, you know, getting Atlanta in this weekend.
[00:24:58] But, you know, while we're talking about Atlanta.
[00:25:01] I'm going to clear out.
[00:25:02] What the hell happened down at the compressor this weekend, Mr. Logical?
[00:25:06] Listen, sometimes, man.
[00:25:08] You just.
[00:25:09] When you win games by the skin of your teeth.
[00:25:12] Every once in a while.
[00:25:13] You just get manhandled.
[00:25:15] Because you can't.
[00:25:16] You can't keep winning games.
[00:25:17] Last possession.
[00:25:20] I know they had the good showing against Carolina.
[00:25:23] But, Andy Dalton was moving the ball up and down the field.
[00:25:27] It's just sometimes.
[00:25:28] It just.
[00:25:28] It happens to where another team comes in.
[00:25:31] Their quarterback.
[00:25:32] Wide receiver group is just hot.
[00:25:34] The running back was on his birthday.
[00:25:35] So, he's trying to do his thing.
[00:25:38] I'm not worried.
[00:25:40] You know.
[00:25:41] You're going to get lost.
[00:25:42] The only problem that I have is that.
[00:25:44] At four and two.
[00:25:47] It felt like they were.
[00:25:48] They were all ascending.
[00:25:50] And at four and three.
[00:25:52] Because if you think about it.
[00:25:53] The Colts are also four and three.
[00:25:55] You know what I mean?
[00:25:56] So, it's like.
[00:25:57] Shots fired.
[00:25:58] I mean, like.
[00:25:58] I'm not trying to be.
[00:25:59] But, like.
[00:25:59] They've had, like.
[00:26:00] A quarterback go out.
[00:26:01] They got a.
[00:26:02] And, you know.
[00:26:02] He was out for a game.
[00:26:03] They brought an old guy in.
[00:26:04] And then they brought the young quarterback back.
[00:26:07] Jonathan Taylor's still not back.
[00:26:08] Jonathan Taylor's also.
[00:26:09] It's like.
[00:26:10] They have.
[00:26:10] They have, like.
[00:26:11] Issues in their four and three.
[00:26:13] You know.
[00:26:15] The Steelers.
[00:26:16] If Steelers would have ended up.
[00:26:17] Like I said.
[00:26:17] If they would have lost.
[00:26:18] Their four and three would have looked like.
[00:26:20] Damn.
[00:26:20] We put a lot of effort in.
[00:26:22] With Justin Fields.
[00:26:23] We bring Russell Wilson.
[00:26:24] And now we're four and three.
[00:26:25] See.
[00:26:25] I like.
[00:26:25] It looks different.
[00:26:26] It looks promising.
[00:26:28] For Indianapolis.
[00:26:28] Because it's like.
[00:26:29] Oh.
[00:26:29] Houston hasn't pulled away.
[00:26:31] We can claw back into this.
[00:26:32] But Atlanta was like.
[00:26:33] They're at the top of the division.
[00:26:35] But it feels like.
[00:26:36] You're at the top of a.
[00:26:38] Like a fleeting division.
[00:26:39] So.
[00:26:39] Like your wins don't feel like.
[00:26:41] It feels like.
[00:26:42] Well.
[00:26:43] At least we're.
[00:26:43] Number one in our division.
[00:26:44] It doesn't feel like you're.
[00:26:46] Like you won four out of five.
[00:26:48] And I mean.
[00:26:48] And you're.
[00:26:49] You're still in a great position.
[00:26:50] Right.
[00:26:50] Because now Tampa's with their.
[00:26:52] Without their top two receivers.
[00:26:54] Carolina's Carolina.
[00:26:55] You know.
[00:26:55] Derek Carr's still out.
[00:26:57] So.
[00:26:58] So this is the time.
[00:26:58] Time to build.
[00:26:59] Listen.
[00:26:59] You might as well just go ahead.
[00:27:00] Let Bryce Young play.
[00:27:01] If you don't go out there.
[00:27:02] And lose 40 to 70.
[00:27:03] Well.
[00:27:03] He might have to.
[00:27:04] You know.
[00:27:04] I saw Andy Dalton was in a car accident earlier.
[00:27:07] Like nothing serious.
[00:27:08] But.
[00:27:08] You know.
[00:27:09] We'll see.
[00:27:10] Listen.
[00:27:10] If Andy Dalton was just.
[00:27:12] Just got a traffic ticket.
[00:27:13] I'd bench him for that.
[00:27:15] So.
[00:27:15] He's like.
[00:27:16] What's the point of playing the veteran backup.
[00:27:18] And still losing games by.
[00:27:20] Two and three.
[00:27:21] Four or five possessions.
[00:27:22] Back to back weeks.
[00:27:23] Like what is Bryce Young learning from that?
[00:27:26] Right.
[00:27:26] He can learn.
[00:27:27] Hey.
[00:27:27] If he goes out there.
[00:27:29] And he throws.
[00:27:30] Two bad interceptions.
[00:27:31] Or he misses a check down.
[00:27:33] Or.
[00:27:33] He can learn.
[00:27:34] Okay.
[00:27:34] You know what.
[00:27:35] Next time.
[00:27:36] I got to hold the safety in the middle field.
[00:27:37] A little longer in my eyes.
[00:27:39] To get this pass off.
[00:27:40] He can't learn that.
[00:27:41] Watching Andy Dalton.
[00:27:42] Getting torched.
[00:27:43] Like.
[00:27:43] Andy's not going to come over there.
[00:27:44] And be like.
[00:27:45] Hey man.
[00:27:45] You know what I should have done?
[00:27:46] Because.
[00:27:47] That's not how the world works.
[00:27:48] Right.
[00:27:48] He has to see it.
[00:27:49] You got to give him an opportunity to see it.
[00:27:51] But.
[00:27:51] If you're not going to do it.
[00:27:52] Then.
[00:27:53] It's pointless.
[00:27:53] But yeah.
[00:27:54] Yeah.
[00:27:54] They got that ass spanked.
[00:27:55] They did.
[00:27:56] You know.
[00:27:56] I think the most disrespectful thing.
[00:27:58] Was DK Metcalf.
[00:27:59] Blocking AJ Terrell.
[00:28:00] Without moving.
[00:28:02] I don't know.
[00:28:02] How it wasn't.
[00:28:03] I don't know.
[00:28:03] How it wasn't a hold.
[00:28:04] Or how he didn't punch DK in the stomach.
[00:28:06] Or something.
[00:28:07] Like.
[00:28:07] I'm getting a penalty.
[00:28:08] Like.
[00:28:08] I mean.
[00:28:08] Like.
[00:28:09] Fuck it.
[00:28:09] They're already about to score.
[00:28:10] I'm slapping him.
[00:28:12] Yeah.
[00:28:12] And DK got hurt as well.
[00:28:13] You know.
[00:28:14] Week to week.
[00:28:14] So.
[00:28:15] You know.
[00:28:15] Seattle gets Buffalo coming in this weekend.
[00:28:18] We had the Battle of the North going on this weekend.
[00:28:21] You know.
[00:28:22] We had Detroit against Minnesota.
[00:28:24] And.
[00:28:24] If you just look at the statistics.
[00:28:27] It's probably one of the most even games you ever see.
[00:28:30] You know.
[00:28:31] But when I was watching the game.
[00:28:33] I felt that Detroit was hands down the better team.
[00:28:36] And.
[00:28:37] You know.
[00:28:37] There was no questions left on the table.
[00:28:40] If it wasn't for the Montgomery fumble.
[00:28:43] Then.
[00:28:43] They win that game pretty easily.
[00:28:46] You know.
[00:28:47] And then of course.
[00:28:48] There was the botched punt earlier in the game as well.
[00:28:50] But Jared Goff has the highest three game passer rating since 1971.
[00:28:55] So.
[00:28:56] Question.
[00:28:57] Mr. Lodge.
[00:28:58] All right.
[00:28:58] Are the Lions the Super Bowl favorite right now?
[00:29:02] Well.
[00:29:02] I picked them.
[00:29:04] At Kansas City Detroit was my Super Bowl matchup.
[00:29:08] And NSC.
[00:29:09] I say yes.
[00:29:10] Because like I said.
[00:29:11] I think their success.
[00:29:13] I think they're on the ascent.
[00:29:16] I think teams like Samson's going to decline.
[00:29:18] I think.
[00:29:20] Green Bay.
[00:29:21] I mean.
[00:29:22] Jordan Love is playing light side.
[00:29:24] Like he has 15 touchdowns.
[00:29:26] He only played five games.
[00:29:27] Yeah.
[00:29:27] He got a lot of picks too.
[00:29:29] Yeah.
[00:29:29] Eight picks.
[00:29:30] So it's not crazy.
[00:29:31] So at least you're like making up for like in six games.
[00:29:34] Mahomes has eight picks.
[00:29:35] I think some.
[00:29:36] Yeah.
[00:29:37] But Jordan.
[00:29:37] Jordan Love missed two games.
[00:29:39] That's what I'm saying.
[00:29:39] But.
[00:29:40] He has 15 touchdowns.
[00:29:42] So he's twice as many.
[00:29:43] Right.
[00:29:44] I think Aaron Rodgers is somewhere around seven or eight as well.
[00:29:47] Six,
[00:29:47] seven or eight.
[00:29:48] Somewhere in that range.
[00:29:50] But his.
[00:29:50] His second interception in the Pittsburgh game was silly.
[00:29:54] But yeah.
[00:29:54] So.
[00:29:56] I don't.
[00:29:56] I just.
[00:29:57] I just feel like there's not a lot of NFC teams that you can definitively count on week to week.
[00:30:01] Like I said.
[00:30:02] Atlanta at four and three.
[00:30:03] They look like the.
[00:30:04] The darlings of football for a month.
[00:30:07] But if you look at it.
[00:30:08] I think they won all those games by a total of like nine points.
[00:30:12] Like nine.
[00:30:13] Nine to ten.
[00:30:14] Something like that.
[00:30:15] But one was six in overtime.
[00:30:16] Everything else was like two or three.
[00:30:18] And then they had to blow out against Carolina.
[00:30:20] But like I said.
[00:30:21] Andy Dalton was moving the ball over down the field.
[00:30:23] They just got a couple of timely turnovers.
[00:30:25] So yeah.
[00:30:26] I see.
[00:30:26] I like.
[00:30:27] I think people like the Eagles.
[00:30:29] But.
[00:30:31] They.
[00:30:32] Some of these teams seem.
[00:30:34] Like different teams week to week.
[00:30:36] Well their offense.
[00:30:37] The Eagles.
[00:30:38] Their offense is still a work in progress.
[00:30:40] It seems like.
[00:30:41] And.
[00:30:42] I want to.
[00:30:43] I want to see this game this weekend.
[00:30:45] Because.
[00:30:46] They're going to the other Ohio team.
[00:30:48] Not the Browns.
[00:30:49] They're going to the other Ohio team.
[00:30:51] Who's fighting for their season as well.
[00:30:53] So you know.
[00:30:54] I think that.
[00:30:54] That could be a good game.
[00:30:55] I got it as a toss up right now.
[00:30:57] But.
[00:30:57] Philadelphia.
[00:30:58] I don't know what to take from them.
[00:30:59] Outside of Saquon's really fucking good.
[00:31:01] You know.
[00:31:02] They sacked the Giants eight times.
[00:31:04] But they gave up five sacks to the Giants.
[00:31:07] So.
[00:31:08] Yeah.
[00:31:09] The Giants.
[00:31:09] They have a good defensive front.
[00:31:11] It's just that they.
[00:31:12] Like once again.
[00:31:13] They look.
[00:31:15] Like a lot of NFC teams.
[00:31:18] Some teams can look like.
[00:31:20] The bad version of the Giants.
[00:31:23] Mm-hmm.
[00:31:23] One week.
[00:31:24] And then the next week.
[00:31:25] Look like the good version of the Lions.
[00:31:28] Most NFC teams.
[00:31:29] It looks like that.
[00:31:30] Mm-hmm.
[00:31:30] Except for Detroit.
[00:31:32] It's pretty consistent.
[00:31:33] Green Bay is kind of.
[00:31:35] Minnesota.
[00:31:36] We thought they were going to be on this end.
[00:31:38] Like they might.
[00:31:38] It's a real possibility that Minnesota can go from five and oh.
[00:31:43] To not make the playoffs.
[00:31:44] Well since we're there.
[00:31:46] They have the quarterback that doesn't really have a history of being.
[00:31:50] Great after October.
[00:31:52] Well since we're there.
[00:31:54] You're giving the Rams a chance on Thursday night.
[00:31:58] No.
[00:32:00] No.
[00:32:01] I think they have a chance.
[00:32:03] I mean you got the whole.
[00:32:04] I think.
[00:32:05] You still need weapons.
[00:32:07] Right.
[00:32:07] No matter what.
[00:32:07] You need weapons.
[00:32:09] Like.
[00:32:10] Like I heard someone say this.
[00:32:12] I think it was like Teddy Bruschi is someone.
[00:32:14] What he was like.
[00:32:15] The beginning of the game.
[00:32:18] Is about the coaches.
[00:32:19] The end of the game is about the players.
[00:32:22] And then I heard another.
[00:32:23] Someone else said it's like.
[00:32:24] I know it's X's and O's.
[00:32:26] But it's also Jimmy's and Joe's.
[00:32:28] So at a certain point.
[00:32:29] It's like.
[00:32:29] Yeah.
[00:32:30] The coach can have everything laid out.
[00:32:32] But.
[00:32:33] The players have to put it in place.
[00:32:35] And when you just are down weapons.
[00:32:37] That you need.
[00:32:38] Skill position weapons that you need.
[00:32:39] It's just.
[00:32:40] If it becomes a shootout.
[00:32:42] Or if it becomes.
[00:32:44] A very tight game.
[00:32:45] And you like.
[00:32:46] Third and eight.
[00:32:48] And you need Cooper Cup.
[00:32:50] To like.
[00:32:51] Run that perfect route.
[00:32:52] And you don't have them.
[00:32:54] You know.
[00:32:55] It could be.
[00:32:55] It could be a sack on third down.
[00:32:57] Just incomplete in the punt.
[00:32:58] So like.
[00:32:58] That kind of stuff.
[00:32:59] That.
[00:33:00] That's the stuff that really hurts teams.
[00:33:02] Because every drive isn't going to be a touchdown.
[00:33:04] But you want to be.
[00:33:05] Prepared.
[00:33:06] Or have your weapons.
[00:33:07] To get you down the field.
[00:33:08] Right.
[00:33:09] Yeah.
[00:33:09] Something that I noticed.
[00:33:10] And I.
[00:33:11] You know.
[00:33:11] I usually leave the X's and O's to you.
[00:33:13] Because you know.
[00:33:14] You get into your whole bag.
[00:33:15] About cover two.
[00:33:17] Cover six.
[00:33:18] You know.
[00:33:18] Whatever.
[00:33:19] And then I was playing NCAA the other day.
[00:33:21] And I was like.
[00:33:22] Cover nine.
[00:33:23] But.
[00:33:24] Yeah.
[00:33:24] It's like a combination.
[00:33:26] Yeah.
[00:33:26] But I was watching the Lions.
[00:33:29] Play against Minnesota.
[00:33:30] And.
[00:33:31] What I had noticed.
[00:33:33] Was.
[00:33:35] They looked like.
[00:33:37] Some of their formations.
[00:33:38] And what they were doing.
[00:33:39] Like some of their schemes.
[00:33:41] Teams.
[00:33:42] Took me back to 90s football.
[00:33:44] Like it wasn't quite.
[00:33:45] I formation.
[00:33:46] But.
[00:33:46] They were bringing in their receivers.
[00:33:48] They weren't so far out.
[00:33:50] They were kind of in.
[00:33:51] So as they were running the ball.
[00:33:52] The receivers were there.
[00:33:54] To have those extra bodies in position.
[00:33:56] So.
[00:33:57] You know.
[00:33:57] I wonder.
[00:33:58] And I know it's.
[00:33:59] A minor detail.
[00:34:00] In the grand scheme of things.
[00:34:01] But I wonder.
[00:34:02] If that's something.
[00:34:02] We're going to start seeing more teams do.
[00:34:05] That play Minnesota.
[00:34:07] Like just bringing.
[00:34:09] Just bringing.
[00:34:10] Yeah.
[00:34:10] Like kind of cutting off the perimeter.
[00:34:11] Because the line.
[00:34:12] I mean.
[00:34:12] The Vikings get you from side to side.
[00:34:14] But you know.
[00:34:15] But bringing those receivers in.
[00:34:17] I can go.
[00:34:18] You want.
[00:34:18] You want to control the edge.
[00:34:20] And if you.
[00:34:21] Because it's a lot of space.
[00:34:22] Like.
[00:34:23] I talk about football.
[00:34:23] Football feels like 52 yards wide.
[00:34:27] So.
[00:34:28] Your formation.
[00:34:29] From tackle to tackle.
[00:34:31] You know.
[00:34:31] You're right in the middle of the field.
[00:34:32] So if you can get.
[00:34:34] If you can get the edge sealed.
[00:34:37] And they're.
[00:34:38] And you guys coming downhill.
[00:34:39] That's.
[00:34:39] That's five or six yards.
[00:34:40] Every touch.
[00:34:41] Because.
[00:34:43] Your safety has to come beat him.
[00:34:45] Like if you can get the corner.
[00:34:46] Sealed.
[00:34:47] On the edge.
[00:34:47] Or if you get the linebacker sealed.
[00:34:49] And the quarterback.
[00:34:50] That corner has to come.
[00:34:51] Come from.
[00:34:52] From outside in.
[00:34:53] And you have a.
[00:34:54] You know.
[00:34:54] Like a guy like Montgomery.
[00:34:56] Running back.
[00:34:57] 230.
[00:34:59] Coming downhill.
[00:35:00] Like even if you.
[00:35:00] If the corner is there.
[00:35:01] To make the tackle.
[00:35:02] He's going to be coming downhill.
[00:35:03] So fast.
[00:35:04] That it's going to be.
[00:35:05] Four or five yards.
[00:35:05] Before he makes contact with him.
[00:35:07] And if he doesn't get a good grip.
[00:35:08] On a big back like that.
[00:35:10] You know.
[00:35:11] That's a 10 yard run.
[00:35:12] Right.
[00:35:13] So.
[00:35:13] A lot.
[00:35:13] I think a lot of teams.
[00:35:15] You just want to scheme.
[00:35:16] You want to.
[00:35:17] You want to use your players.
[00:35:19] To make your scheme work.
[00:35:20] And that's why I said.
[00:35:20] A lot of times.
[00:35:21] It can work.
[00:35:23] Like I said.
[00:35:23] Just having Amari Cooper.
[00:35:24] In the slot.
[00:35:26] And.
[00:35:27] Keon Coleman's having a great game.
[00:35:30] Cooper just went.
[00:35:31] Ran right up.
[00:35:31] Ran up.
[00:35:32] Right up the seam.
[00:35:32] For a touchdown.
[00:35:33] You know.
[00:35:33] Like little things like that.
[00:35:35] That happened throughout the game.
[00:35:36] That's why when teams start slow.
[00:35:39] It ends up like not.
[00:35:40] It's always a surprise.
[00:35:42] In the second half.
[00:35:43] When guys start getting points together.
[00:35:44] Because like yo.
[00:35:44] We've already kind of figured out.
[00:35:46] What you're doing.
[00:35:47] But if you can.
[00:35:48] If you can get in there.
[00:35:49] Make your adjustments.
[00:35:50] Then that's.
[00:35:51] That's.
[00:35:52] That's the key piece.
[00:35:53] Is like who makes better adjustments.
[00:35:54] But like I said.
[00:35:55] Your adjustments are also predicated.
[00:35:57] On the weapons you have.
[00:35:58] Right.
[00:35:59] And then we saw the Giants bench Daniel Jones.
[00:36:02] For a quote unquote spark.
[00:36:05] So.
[00:36:07] This week.
[00:36:09] They play the Steelers.
[00:36:11] So I wanted to ask you.
[00:36:14] Now that we got a game under our belt.
[00:36:16] You're not throwing Drew Locke out there.
[00:36:18] Against the Steelers.
[00:36:18] No.
[00:36:19] No.
[00:36:19] No.
[00:36:19] That wasn't what I was going to ask you.
[00:36:20] You know what I'm saying?
[00:36:22] No.
[00:36:22] But now that we're.
[00:36:23] Now that we got a game under our belt.
[00:36:25] How do you feel.
[00:36:26] Today.
[00:36:28] Versus how you felt.
[00:36:30] When you thought that Russell Wilson.
[00:36:31] Could end up being the starter.
[00:36:33] Russell Wilson played.
[00:36:36] The same.
[00:36:38] Game.
[00:36:39] Justin Fields.
[00:36:40] Would have played.
[00:36:41] Let's keep it on it.
[00:36:42] Maybe Justin Fields doesn't stretch it down the field as much.
[00:36:45] But Russ completed 16 for 29.
[00:36:47] It's like 53 percent.
[00:36:50] There was like three circus catches.
[00:36:54] It just looks like he's.
[00:36:57] The thing with Russ.
[00:36:58] I think that helped him.
[00:37:00] Is the fact that he doesn't look.
[00:37:02] Like.
[00:37:03] Play to play.
[00:37:05] Like he's only completing half his passes.
[00:37:08] Whereas Justin Fields.
[00:37:10] Like.
[00:37:11] He kind of just gets jittery.
[00:37:13] Russ just stays with the flow.
[00:37:15] He.
[00:37:15] Hits the play action.
[00:37:16] Checked it down to the tight end.
[00:37:18] They ran that play like three or four times.
[00:37:20] It worked.
[00:37:21] Once.
[00:37:21] He ran.
[00:37:22] Sauce Gardner.
[00:37:23] He didn't really run Sauce Gardner over.
[00:37:24] Like he just.
[00:37:25] He really went at Sauce Gardner.
[00:37:27] The big tight end.
[00:37:28] Six.
[00:37:29] Seven.
[00:37:29] Yeah.
[00:37:30] Washington.
[00:37:31] Darnell Washington.
[00:37:32] Yeah.
[00:37:32] So like.
[00:37:32] That was probably like the longest.
[00:37:34] The most yards they got off that play.
[00:37:36] Or any play that's kind of really like that.
[00:37:38] But.
[00:37:38] The moon ball to Pickens.
[00:37:41] The first one.
[00:37:43] Was under thrown.
[00:37:45] Like.
[00:37:45] It wasn't a back shoulder.
[00:37:47] It was under thrown.
[00:37:48] Like he didn't intend it.
[00:37:49] He went.
[00:37:50] He wanted to go deeper.
[00:37:52] Pause.
[00:37:52] But it was under thrown.
[00:37:54] He adjusted to it.
[00:37:55] Still was a great catch.
[00:37:56] Right.
[00:37:56] The other one also was under thrown.
[00:37:59] Because it hit the Jets defenders shoulder.
[00:38:01] And just bounced up in the air like Madden.
[00:38:04] And then he caught it.
[00:38:05] And bounced again.
[00:38:05] He caught it again.
[00:38:06] Right.
[00:38:06] And the one had a great catch.
[00:38:08] And the right.
[00:38:08] Frymuth had a great catch.
[00:38:09] So like.
[00:38:10] Those.
[00:38:11] Like three plays.
[00:38:12] Kind of sparked two separate drives.
[00:38:15] And.
[00:38:16] Two of them shouldn't even have been completed passes.
[00:38:19] Right.
[00:38:20] So.
[00:38:20] That.
[00:38:22] Frymuth pass.
[00:38:22] That was like third down.
[00:38:24] The same thing with the other Pickens catch.
[00:38:26] Is like.
[00:38:27] At that.
[00:38:28] If those catches don't get completed.
[00:38:30] I think he would have been something like.
[00:38:32] Three for 12.
[00:38:34] But those two passes made it.
[00:38:36] Or those three.
[00:38:37] Three passes made it like.
[00:38:38] Six for 12.
[00:38:39] And he started like.
[00:38:40] Getting on a little run.
[00:38:41] Yeah.
[00:38:41] I said that.
[00:38:42] Before the season started.
[00:38:43] That Justin Fields should have been the starter.
[00:38:45] In the first place.
[00:38:46] You know.
[00:38:46] Just because.
[00:38:49] You know.
[00:38:52] Just because of Arthur Smith.
[00:38:54] You know what I mean.
[00:38:55] And.
[00:38:55] And.
[00:38:56] And.
[00:38:56] And.
[00:38:56] And you know.
[00:38:56] I just think that.
[00:38:59] I didn't see anything that really moved me off of that.
[00:39:02] You know.
[00:39:03] Not.
[00:39:03] And of course.
[00:39:04] It was Russell Wilson's first game back.
[00:39:05] So.
[00:39:06] You know.
[00:39:06] I don't want to necessarily be too critical.
[00:39:08] And overreact.
[00:39:09] But.
[00:39:10] I didn't see anything during the game.
[00:39:13] That led me to go.
[00:39:14] Oh.
[00:39:15] I see why they started Russell Wilson.
[00:39:17] I'll.
[00:39:17] I'll say this.
[00:39:18] A couple.
[00:39:19] I thought of maybe he takes chances.
[00:39:21] That's the difference.
[00:39:21] He takes the chances.
[00:39:23] Yeah.
[00:39:23] And that.
[00:39:24] And it was.
[00:39:24] Someone said.
[00:39:26] George Pickens was happy to have Russell Wilson out there.
[00:39:29] Because.
[00:39:29] He'll take the shot.
[00:39:32] And.
[00:39:32] I don't know how often.
[00:39:34] Running quarterbacks.
[00:39:37] Pass up on throwing the ball to open receivers.
[00:39:39] I know sometimes.
[00:39:40] People don't really always like.
[00:39:42] Playing with running quarterback.
[00:39:43] That's why.
[00:39:43] Like.
[00:39:44] You know.
[00:39:44] If you think about.
[00:39:45] Back in the day.
[00:39:46] Or like.
[00:39:47] Even with Lamar.
[00:39:48] Lamar doesn't get a lot of.
[00:39:49] Top flight wide receivers.
[00:39:51] Like.
[00:39:51] Devontae Adams.
[00:39:52] Well.
[00:39:52] I was going to say.
[00:39:52] You put that up.
[00:39:53] Yeah.
[00:39:54] Yeah.
[00:39:54] Because.
[00:39:55] You know.
[00:39:55] Sometimes.
[00:39:55] He doesn't throw it on time.
[00:39:57] Russell.
[00:39:58] Does.
[00:39:59] Even though.
[00:39:59] Like a couple.
[00:39:59] Like I said.
[00:40:00] They run it through him.
[00:40:01] I think that's the difference.
[00:40:03] So.
[00:40:03] Your outlook.
[00:40:05] Look.
[00:40:05] It looked.
[00:40:05] His 16 for 29.
[00:40:07] Looked a lot like 21 for 29.
[00:40:09] So.
[00:40:10] Does your outlook.
[00:40:11] On the Steelers.
[00:40:11] Change at all.
[00:40:12] From what you originally thought.
[00:40:13] If Russ is the starter.
[00:40:15] Going forward.
[00:40:15] The rest of the season.
[00:40:16] It does.
[00:40:17] Because.
[00:40:19] I think.
[00:40:21] Defensive coordinators.
[00:40:22] The defensive team.
[00:40:23] They respect them.
[00:40:24] Because he's not going to.
[00:40:25] He's not going to hurt himself.
[00:40:27] He's not going to.
[00:40:29] He's not going to pass up on a.
[00:40:31] An open wide receiver.
[00:40:32] He's not going to just get out of the pocket too soon.
[00:40:35] He's going to do.
[00:40:37] But he did in Denver.
[00:40:38] And that's why.
[00:40:38] I felt like Denver.
[00:40:39] Just kind of gave him a bad rap.
[00:40:40] Because.
[00:40:41] Like you're expecting him to be.
[00:40:43] Mahomes.
[00:40:44] Because that's what he used to be.
[00:40:46] Before.
[00:40:46] It's like.
[00:40:47] I think if he gives.
[00:40:50] Pittsburgh.
[00:40:52] Those 22.
[00:40:53] To 24.
[00:40:54] Touchdowns.
[00:40:55] Six or seven picks.
[00:40:56] Like for the rest of the season.
[00:40:58] I think they'll win a lot of games.
[00:41:00] Especially considering.
[00:41:01] Their division.
[00:41:03] Has.
[00:41:06] Cleveland.
[00:41:07] Just lost their quarterback.
[00:41:08] I think James is good.
[00:41:10] I think.
[00:41:10] People like James.
[00:41:11] But I don't know if he's a winning quarterback.
[00:41:13] And they brought in Bailey Zappi.
[00:41:16] For some reason.
[00:41:17] Go toppers.
[00:41:18] Then you have Cincinnati.
[00:41:20] Who.
[00:41:23] Maybe by the time.
[00:41:24] He's on the line every week.
[00:41:25] He's on the line every week.
[00:41:27] Maybe by the time they play.
[00:41:28] The first or second Pittsburgh game.
[00:41:30] Their season's wrapped.
[00:41:31] And T.
[00:41:32] Higgins hamstring is too tight to go.
[00:41:34] You know.
[00:41:35] Like.
[00:41:35] Stuff like that.
[00:41:36] Like.
[00:41:36] I'm not.
[00:41:37] Like.
[00:41:37] If you're.
[00:41:37] If you're.
[00:41:38] If you're in Cincinnati.
[00:41:39] You're four and.
[00:41:40] Eight.
[00:41:42] When you gotta play Pittsburgh.
[00:41:43] It's like.
[00:41:44] Nah.
[00:41:46] Yeah.
[00:41:46] Like.
[00:41:46] Especially.
[00:41:47] Like.
[00:41:47] You know.
[00:41:47] If you're not gonna pay me.
[00:41:48] I might.
[00:41:48] Might not go out there.
[00:41:50] And you all know.
[00:41:51] Joe Burrow's health is always.
[00:41:52] You know.
[00:41:52] It's sometimes.
[00:41:54] Recently.
[00:41:54] It's been week to week.
[00:41:55] Yeah.
[00:41:55] Looking at that offensive line.
[00:41:56] I don't know if he's gonna make it through the season.
[00:41:58] You know.
[00:41:59] Not wishing anything on him or anything like that.
[00:42:01] Like.
[00:42:01] He's getting the bounty gate that Mahomes should be getting.
[00:42:04] You know.
[00:42:05] That's.
[00:42:05] That's where we are right now.
[00:42:07] You know.
[00:42:08] I saw.
[00:42:09] You know.
[00:42:10] Of course.
[00:42:11] Near and dear to my heart.
[00:42:12] You know.
[00:42:13] Jayden Daniels with the rib injury.
[00:42:15] You know.
[00:42:15] This week is the big matchup against Caleb Williams.
[00:42:18] So.
[00:42:18] You know.
[00:42:18] Hopefully he can play.
[00:42:19] They got him listed as week to week.
[00:42:21] But.
[00:42:22] Take your time.
[00:42:23] Correct.
[00:42:24] You know.
[00:42:24] Take your time.
[00:42:24] They said it wasn't fractured or anything.
[00:42:27] You know.
[00:42:27] So.
[00:42:28] So.
[00:42:28] Take your time.
[00:42:29] There's no need to rush them back.
[00:42:30] You know.
[00:42:31] I know this is.
[00:42:31] You know.
[00:42:32] Considered a big game by the networks.
[00:42:34] But ain't a big game for the rest of your season.
[00:42:37] So.
[00:42:37] Correct.
[00:42:37] Take your time.
[00:42:39] Nurse your quarterback back to health.
[00:42:41] And try it again next week.
[00:42:43] You know.
[00:42:45] Jamison Williams.
[00:42:47] Apparently he's gone for two games.
[00:42:50] Yo.
[00:42:51] Alabama players got to stop being suspended.
[00:42:53] Making Nick Saban look bad.
[00:42:54] No.
[00:42:54] Yeah.
[00:42:55] Especially if all this stuff wouldn't happen under Saban.
[00:42:57] I mean.
[00:42:57] I mean.
[00:42:58] Granted it didn't happen under Saban.
[00:42:59] But you know.
[00:43:00] The PED thing.
[00:43:01] Because I don't know the science.
[00:43:03] So I'm not going to sit up here and act like it.
[00:43:05] Like my degrees are in criminal justice and public administration.
[00:43:08] There's no chemistry degrees over here.
[00:43:14] I'm not sure.
[00:43:18] I'm not sure.
[00:43:19] I'm not sure what all this stuff can really do.
[00:43:20] Like if it's not straight up steroids to me.
[00:43:22] I'm just like.
[00:43:22] I don't know.
[00:43:23] Like why you guys are even testing for all the stuff that they're testing for.
[00:43:28] Right.
[00:43:29] No.
[00:43:29] I.
[00:43:29] You know.
[00:43:30] On top of that.
[00:43:31] With the testing.
[00:43:32] But like.
[00:43:32] The same thing with James.
[00:43:33] Excuse me.
[00:43:34] Like yeah.
[00:43:34] If it doesn't come directly from the team trainer.
[00:43:37] Just don't take it.
[00:43:38] Don't go to your personal trainer.
[00:43:40] Or the guy you've been working out with in Texas.
[00:43:42] Or whatever you.
[00:43:43] Or whatever you know.
[00:43:44] This hypothetical trainer is for a lot of these guys.
[00:43:46] Like Tom Brady got away with it.
[00:43:47] With that Alex Guerrero guy.
[00:43:49] But everybody thought he was weird.
[00:43:50] I'm pretty sure.
[00:43:51] Four or five years.
[00:43:52] There's going to be some Balco like case.
[00:43:54] That comes out of.
[00:43:55] Concerning him.
[00:43:58] Because that's just.
[00:43:59] That's what.
[00:43:59] I mean.
[00:43:59] That's what happened with Barry Bonds.
[00:44:00] Sports reports is ordered for your allegations.
[00:44:03] I mean.
[00:44:03] The same thing happened with.
[00:44:05] With.
[00:44:05] With Barry Bonds.
[00:44:06] These baseball guys.
[00:44:07] They started.
[00:44:08] In the clear.
[00:44:09] They started going to these other outside trainers.
[00:44:11] Who had different science.
[00:44:13] And a lot of their science was ahead of the testing.
[00:44:15] Like that's all their science was.
[00:44:17] In most of these cases.
[00:44:19] Like their.
[00:44:21] PED.
[00:44:23] Choices or chemicals.
[00:44:25] Were just ahead of whatever league you're in testing.
[00:44:28] So you know the weirdest stat.
[00:44:30] That I've come across this week.
[00:44:34] So you know.
[00:44:35] I love hard.
[00:44:38] So you know.
[00:44:39] So I was big on the Titans this year.
[00:44:41] And I was.
[00:44:42] Part of that reason was because they went out and got Calvin Ridley.
[00:44:46] Man.
[00:44:47] I.
[00:44:47] When you said it.
[00:44:48] When we had our conversation.
[00:44:50] You said it.
[00:44:51] And then you doubled down.
[00:44:52] When we recorded.
[00:44:53] I was like.
[00:44:54] Mike is normally on one.
[00:44:56] I'm like man.
[00:44:56] I'm not seeing it.
[00:44:57] But check it out though.
[00:44:59] This is.
[00:44:59] This is the one that kills me though.
[00:45:02] 36 targets this season for Calvin Ridley.
[00:45:05] How many catches you think he got?
[00:45:07] 17.
[00:45:08] 12.
[00:45:11] 12.
[00:45:12] He has a 33% catch rate.
[00:45:14] Yes.
[00:45:16] Yes.
[00:45:20] And here's another one for you.
[00:45:22] You know.
[00:45:22] Anthony Richardson.
[00:45:23] You know.
[00:45:23] Our guy.
[00:45:24] Anthony Richardson.
[00:45:25] You know.
[00:45:26] Q.
[00:45:26] Were you at Q?
[00:45:27] You know.
[00:45:28] 10 of 24.
[00:45:30] Against the Dolphins.
[00:45:32] That brings his season total to.
[00:45:34] 48 and a half percent completions.
[00:45:38] Three touchdowns.
[00:45:39] Six interceptions.
[00:45:41] And last thing before we.
[00:45:43] Before we switch over.
[00:45:44] When he threw the ball.
[00:45:46] And hit the rafters.
[00:45:47] At his pro day.
[00:45:49] It should have been like.
[00:45:51] Nah.
[00:45:51] We're not going to.
[00:45:52] Well.
[00:45:52] Anthony Richardson is proof of what happens.
[00:45:54] When you draft the quarterback.
[00:45:55] Because he could catch a main alley-oop.
[00:45:59] Yeah.
[00:45:59] I don't need.
[00:45:59] I don't.
[00:46:00] Like.
[00:46:00] Cam Newton was one of one.
[00:46:03] You don't.
[00:46:03] You don't need to replicate that.
[00:46:05] Sometimes you can just go ahead.
[00:46:06] And get you a.
[00:46:07] Taller version of Bailey Zappi.
[00:46:09] Give me a six foot two and a half.
[00:46:11] Bailey Zappi.
[00:46:12] Pocket passer.
[00:46:13] Little athleticism.
[00:46:14] That can move around.
[00:46:15] Make the throws.
[00:46:16] Sometimes having a guy like that.
[00:46:18] Because I watched.
[00:46:19] I watched the same thing.
[00:46:20] Like.
[00:46:20] You know.
[00:46:20] For research.
[00:46:21] I was watching the replays.
[00:46:22] Because.
[00:46:23] They called a lot of design runs.
[00:46:25] And he used his shoulder.
[00:46:27] At the end of a lot of those runs.
[00:46:29] It's like.
[00:46:29] Did you not learn.
[00:46:32] From your entire NFL career so far.
[00:46:35] To stop running.
[00:46:36] Did you not learn from Andrew Luck.
[00:46:40] He retired.
[00:46:41] From your.
[00:46:42] Did the organization not learn.
[00:46:44] From Andrew.
[00:46:45] Like.
[00:46:45] It's like.
[00:46:46] We're not the only people seeing this in HD.
[00:46:49] Right.
[00:46:50] Had a guy literally retire.
[00:46:52] At the same age.
[00:46:54] He just was able to rent cars.
[00:46:56] Damn near.
[00:46:57] Because he was sick of going to rehab.
[00:46:59] For getting hurt.
[00:47:00] And you lost your quarterback.
[00:47:02] Before that.
[00:47:03] Because he.
[00:47:04] I mean.
[00:47:04] Granted Peyton Manning wasn't running.
[00:47:05] But he was like injured.
[00:47:06] So it was like.
[00:47:07] Right.
[00:47:07] The two.
[00:47:08] The two top quarterbacks you had.
[00:47:10] Didn't go out via retirement.
[00:47:13] They went out.
[00:47:15] Both because of.
[00:47:16] Injury.
[00:47:17] And now you.
[00:47:18] You risk it all.
[00:47:19] You risk a lot.
[00:47:20] Taking.
[00:47:21] Anthony Richardson.
[00:47:22] Fourth overall.
[00:47:24] Paying Pittman.
[00:47:25] 120 million dollars.
[00:47:26] And he can't get him the ball.
[00:47:28] Yeah.
[00:47:28] You mortgage your future.
[00:47:29] For a small forward.
[00:47:32] You know what I'm saying.
[00:47:33] And yo.
[00:47:33] By the way.
[00:47:34] It's Julius Randle time.
[00:47:36] Y'all.
[00:47:37] You know what I'm saying.
[00:47:38] Sports reports.
[00:47:39] Is ordered.
[00:47:39] His favorite NBA player.
[00:47:41] There you go.
[00:47:42] The team that drafted him.
[00:47:43] I'm with it.
[00:47:44] You know.
[00:47:44] And then.
[00:47:45] You know.
[00:47:45] The last thing I was going to bring up.
[00:47:47] Before we move over to college.
[00:47:49] Was.
[00:47:49] So you know.
[00:47:50] As I watch WWE.
[00:47:52] And AEW.
[00:47:53] And all the things.
[00:47:54] I get really annoyed.
[00:47:56] You know.
[00:47:56] With the chanting.
[00:47:57] You know.
[00:47:58] The guy wins the title.
[00:47:59] When the crowd goes.
[00:48:00] You deserve it.
[00:48:01] I never thought I would hear.
[00:48:03] You deserve it.
[00:48:04] To a dude tearing his Achilles.
[00:48:06] By his own home crowd.
[00:48:08] But that's the thing.
[00:48:09] I.
[00:48:10] I saw that video.
[00:48:11] I read in the comments.
[00:48:13] That.
[00:48:14] That was WWE.
[00:48:16] Sound.
[00:48:16] Dubbed.
[00:48:17] Over the video.
[00:48:18] I don't know.
[00:48:18] Because Jameis.
[00:48:19] Like definitely.
[00:48:20] You know.
[00:48:20] His interview.
[00:48:21] After the game.
[00:48:22] You know.
[00:48:23] Like.
[00:48:23] Where he was talking about.
[00:48:24] Kicking people.
[00:48:24] While they down.
[00:48:25] Like.
[00:48:26] Led me to believe.
[00:48:26] I think people cheered.
[00:48:28] People cheered.
[00:48:29] Okay.
[00:48:29] I think you deserve it.
[00:48:31] Yeah.
[00:48:32] I don't.
[00:48:32] Yeah.
[00:48:32] Like I said.
[00:48:33] I read those comments.
[00:48:34] It was like.
[00:48:35] I was like.
[00:48:35] You know.
[00:48:35] Before I go off the.
[00:48:37] Off the chain.
[00:48:37] With this.
[00:48:38] Like.
[00:48:38] Let me look.
[00:48:39] And like.
[00:48:39] That was the one comment.
[00:48:40] I mean.
[00:48:41] Some people would argue.
[00:48:42] That he did deserve it.
[00:48:45] It's.
[00:48:46] Brian.
[00:48:47] Still got that defense.
[00:48:49] I mean.
[00:48:51] And also.
[00:48:52] I've read another comment.
[00:48:53] By no means.
[00:48:54] Am I trying to defend.
[00:48:55] This.
[00:48:56] His actions.
[00:48:57] If you know.
[00:48:57] But I don't think.
[00:48:58] He was found.
[00:48:59] I don't know.
[00:49:00] If he was criminally charged.
[00:49:01] He wasn't.
[00:49:02] At all.
[00:49:03] No.
[00:49:03] He just had another recent.
[00:49:05] Stills case come out.
[00:49:06] Yeah.
[00:49:07] So.
[00:49:09] And I get that.
[00:49:10] You know.
[00:49:10] I don't know.
[00:49:11] Like.
[00:49:11] If y'all.
[00:49:12] If y'all believe.
[00:49:12] That he's doing all these things.
[00:49:14] I don't know.
[00:49:14] Like.
[00:49:15] That injury might be the worst thing.
[00:49:16] To happen to society then.
[00:49:18] I mean.
[00:49:19] He.
[00:49:21] There are.
[00:49:22] I know in the Air Force.
[00:49:23] We.
[00:49:23] Learned this.
[00:49:24] You have restricted.
[00:49:25] Non-restricted reporting.
[00:49:26] Where.
[00:49:26] You know.
[00:49:26] If you want an investigation.
[00:49:28] Or you don't.
[00:49:29] You just want the medical care.
[00:49:30] You want the.
[00:49:31] You know.
[00:49:31] Your assailant to be.
[00:49:33] You know.
[00:49:33] Arrested.
[00:49:34] And trialed.
[00:49:35] And punished for it.
[00:49:37] I think.
[00:49:37] In the.
[00:49:38] This.
[00:49:38] This sector.
[00:49:39] Maybe.
[00:49:39] It's like.
[00:49:40] You know.
[00:49:40] I'll settle out of court.
[00:49:41] Because I don't want to go through.
[00:49:43] The.
[00:49:43] You know.
[00:49:44] The public embarrassment.
[00:49:45] Of.
[00:49:46] You know.
[00:49:47] A trial.
[00:49:48] And you know.
[00:49:48] Your history.
[00:49:49] Kind of dug up.
[00:49:50] Because.
[00:49:51] In America.
[00:49:51] When it comes to.
[00:49:53] Sexual assault cases.
[00:49:54] We can.
[00:49:54] Be honest.
[00:49:56] They will.
[00:49:57] Bash.
[00:49:58] The victim.
[00:49:59] They will find.
[00:50:00] Any.
[00:50:01] This.
[00:50:02] Individuals ever made.
[00:50:03] Any.
[00:50:04] Ex.
[00:50:04] That says.
[00:50:05] Oh.
[00:50:05] He or she.
[00:50:06] Likes.
[00:50:07] This kind of.
[00:50:08] Is me.
[00:50:09] Yeah.
[00:50:09] Ruining credibility.
[00:50:10] That way.
[00:50:11] They just don't even want to go.
[00:50:12] Because you're.
[00:50:12] You're literally sitting in a courtroom.
[00:50:14] Watching someone.
[00:50:16] Who assaulted you.
[00:50:18] Just basically get off.
[00:50:19] Because other people feel.
[00:50:20] A certain type of way about you.
[00:50:23] Um.
[00:50:24] So.
[00:50:24] But a lot of them.
[00:50:25] Just straight up sued.
[00:50:27] So.
[00:50:28] You can take that.
[00:50:29] For what it's worth.
[00:50:30] Bruh.
[00:50:30] Julius Randall just passed it on.
[00:50:32] Two possessions in a row.
[00:50:34] Come on now.
[00:50:35] You know what I'm saying.
[00:50:36] This man.
[00:50:36] And got his mind right.
[00:50:38] You know what I'm saying.
[00:50:39] But as we stroll over.
[00:50:41] Uncle O.
[00:50:42] I'm glad you're here.
[00:50:43] Because you've been talking.
[00:50:43] A lot of shit to me all week.
[00:50:45] You know what I'm saying.
[00:50:46] But why you going to talk all this shit to me.
[00:50:49] You gotta tell me.
[00:50:51] Two five went ten and three.
[00:50:53] On his upset alerts.
[00:50:55] And his upset picks.
[00:50:56] To include.
[00:50:58] I told y'all Georgia was coming back.
[00:51:02] I told you Bama was going down.
[00:51:05] That was me that said that.
[00:51:08] Now.
[00:51:09] Allow Georgia to reintroduce themselves.
[00:51:13] Texas.
[00:51:14] Texas.
[00:51:15] Had not played anybody.
[00:51:18] This season.
[00:51:20] Now they went to Michigan.
[00:51:22] Big house.
[00:51:22] 115,000.
[00:51:25] Vicinity be damned.
[00:51:28] Michigan's not a good team.
[00:51:30] Correct.
[00:51:30] You know.
[00:51:31] They hadn't played anybody that could throw the ball.
[00:51:33] A lick this season.
[00:51:35] Now.
[00:51:35] What I will say.
[00:51:37] Is that Carson Beck didn't prove that he could throw the damn ball either.
[00:51:40] Because he had what.
[00:51:41] Three picks.
[00:51:42] By the time the second quarter started.
[00:51:44] Yeah.
[00:51:45] My man.
[00:51:45] Just be giving out souvenirs.
[00:51:47] Just giving out souvenirs.
[00:51:48] But Georgia's defense.
[00:51:49] The bread.
[00:51:50] I saw Adam Mock draft that he was going to be the first quarterback taken a couple weeks ago.
[00:51:53] Yeah.
[00:51:54] He ain't.
[00:51:54] You know.
[00:51:55] What I do like about him though.
[00:51:57] He is competitive.
[00:51:58] He does have that.
[00:51:59] As Mr. Logical would say.
[00:52:01] The moxie.
[00:52:02] You know.
[00:52:03] Like he.
[00:52:03] Like you saw it the second half against Alabama.
[00:52:06] You know.
[00:52:07] Like he didn't give up.
[00:52:08] He came right out there.
[00:52:09] Drove Georgia down the field.
[00:52:10] Got the lead back at one point.
[00:52:12] So he has that in him.
[00:52:14] He has that in him.
[00:52:15] The problem is.
[00:52:15] He got the other stuff in him.
[00:52:17] That'll get you in that position.
[00:52:18] That'll have to come back in the first place.
[00:52:20] Yeah.
[00:52:21] You know.
[00:52:21] But when I look at Texas.
[00:52:24] Georgia said.
[00:52:25] You know what.
[00:52:27] Quinn yours is really really good.
[00:52:29] When he has time to pick you apart.
[00:52:31] When he can just take a step.
[00:52:33] In one direction.
[00:52:35] And let go of the football.
[00:52:36] He's still pretty good.
[00:52:37] But if I make him throw under duress.
[00:52:40] As he's going sideways.
[00:52:42] Trying to.
[00:52:43] He can't do it.
[00:52:44] So.
[00:52:45] The question that I want to ask you.
[00:52:48] Because I've seen a lot of arguments.
[00:52:50] About this online.
[00:52:53] You think Sark was wrong.
[00:52:54] For putting Arch in.
[00:52:56] Yeah.
[00:52:57] Absolutely.
[00:52:58] Why?
[00:53:01] Because.
[00:53:02] You don't want.
[00:53:04] Nor do you need.
[00:53:05] A quarterback controversy.
[00:53:06] You are undefeated.
[00:53:09] And you have.
[00:53:11] A more.
[00:53:12] Seasoned veteran quarterback.
[00:53:14] That's played all year.
[00:53:15] And then you have.
[00:53:17] This highly touted backup.
[00:53:19] Now what you did.
[00:53:20] You put him in.
[00:53:21] He gets.
[00:53:22] Stripped sack.
[00:53:23] You still lose.
[00:53:25] So now.
[00:53:25] All week long.
[00:53:27] You're going to hear.
[00:53:28] So who's going to start next week?
[00:53:30] Who's going to start next week?
[00:53:31] Or in the next big game.
[00:53:33] Is Quinn looking over his shoulder.
[00:53:34] And I know like.
[00:53:34] He shouldn't fall for the pressure.
[00:53:35] But it's like.
[00:53:36] There was no need.
[00:53:38] To put Arch Manning in the game.
[00:53:42] Look dog.
[00:53:44] What.
[00:53:44] What did he benefit from it?
[00:53:45] Look dog.
[00:53:47] My job.
[00:53:48] As a head coach.
[00:53:49] Against Louisiana Monroe.
[00:53:51] How did.
[00:53:51] How did.
[00:53:52] How did.
[00:53:52] How did Arch Manning look.
[00:53:53] Against Louisiana Monroe.
[00:53:54] My job.
[00:53:55] As a head coach.
[00:53:58] No.
[00:53:58] Is the win game.
[00:53:58] Answer my question.
[00:53:59] I just.
[00:54:03] Like.
[00:54:04] Don't avoid my question.
[00:54:05] Before.
[00:54:05] How do you know.
[00:54:06] That's what I'm saying.
[00:54:06] Like.
[00:54:07] Come on.
[00:54:08] Skip.
[00:54:09] Yeah.
[00:54:09] No.
[00:54:09] No.
[00:54:10] No.
[00:54:10] No.
[00:54:10] No.
[00:54:11] No.
[00:54:12] No.
[00:54:13] No.
[00:54:15] No.
[00:54:16] No.
[00:54:24] No.
[00:54:27] No.
[00:54:29] No.
[00:54:30] No.
[00:54:31] No.
[00:54:31] No.
[00:54:34] No.
[00:54:43] No.
[00:54:43] My job as a football coach is to win football games.
[00:54:48] If my team is a national title contender, this ain't some 5-3 team that ain't making the playoffs or whatever the case may be.
[00:54:59] If you're 5-3, you put them in.
[00:55:02] Now, the quarterback controversy that you're talking about was going to happen one way or the other.
[00:55:09] Whenever Texas lost and Quinn Ewers lost a game, that's what you were going to hear.
[00:55:15] You were going to hear, is Arch the man?
[00:55:17] Why is Arch not playing?
[00:55:19] Hold on, hold on.
[00:55:20] You got your shit off.
[00:55:21] Hold on, hold on.
[00:55:22] Let me get my shit off real quick.
[00:55:24] I like this though.
[00:55:24] I like when we don't agree.
[00:55:25] Yeah, I'm saying you got your shit off.
[00:55:27] We can't have an argument if I don't get to answer the question.
[00:55:30] All right, all right.
[00:55:31] You know what I'm saying?
[00:55:32] So, like, check it out, though.
[00:55:33] I'm going to beat my mic.
[00:55:36] Like, so, look, like, people are going to clamor for Arch Manning either way.
[00:55:42] Whenever Texas lost their game, whether it was to Georgia, whether it's next week to Vanderbilt,
[00:55:47] whether it's at A&M, people were going to complain and say that Arch is better anyway.
[00:55:52] Now, you're down in this game.
[00:55:54] It's early in the first half.
[00:55:56] Just like the Giants said, right?
[00:55:58] We put in this backup for a spark.
[00:55:59] So, even if you're not going to plan to play Arch the whole game, you're just trying to get a change of pace.
[00:56:04] Maybe you need to sit Quinn down for a few minutes, look at something on the sideline and just like,
[00:56:09] dude, what are you seeing out there?
[00:56:10] Because this ain't working, whatever the case may be.
[00:56:13] So, going into next season, going into next season, Texas opens up at Ohio State.
[00:56:20] Now, the reason I bring that up is back to your point of he ain't never seen nobody like Georgia.
[00:56:26] You don't say, okay, he's got on the field.
[00:56:29] He got it.
[00:56:30] This ain't simulation.
[00:56:31] He got it.
[00:56:32] Now, when we go to Columbus next year, maybe that makes him a little bit better for that.
[00:56:37] I'm a football coach.
[00:56:38] Now, as you're doing this, it's in the back of your mind.
[00:56:43] If Arch comes back and win this game or if he just plays well, I'm going to have this on my hands.
[00:56:49] But now I got a reason to put Arch in.
[00:56:51] If Arch does come back and win this game, if Arch does play close, they lose by a touchdown or so.
[00:56:58] Okay.
[00:56:59] I can sit Quinn Ewers anyway, regardless of the controversy, if I determine that we are a national title contender
[00:57:07] and my job is to win national titles.
[00:57:10] You're in the SEC.
[00:57:11] You lose that game.
[00:57:12] You're still 7-1.
[00:57:13] You are.
[00:57:14] Or 6-1, right?
[00:57:16] You are.
[00:57:16] But 6-1, I believe.
[00:57:18] But it depends on how you lose.
[00:57:19] If they still lose – if they lost 38-3, you're probably playing Arch anyway.
[00:57:25] They're Texas.
[00:57:26] They're in the SEC.
[00:57:27] They were going to be fine.
[00:57:29] My problem was you have a whole week to play for Georgia.
[00:57:35] They're beating that ass.
[00:57:38] What makes you think that of everything you got on your call sheet, all the athletes you have at running back,
[00:57:45] your size up front, you know, offensive line, your tight end play, the depth you have at wide receiver,
[00:57:51] the speed you have at wide receiver, if none of that's going to give you a spark,
[00:57:55] what makes you think the guy who hasn't played a defense that looks anything like that is going to give you a spark?
[00:58:04] Quinn Ewers was going to be your spark.
[00:58:07] You ride a dive.
[00:58:08] You go to the big dance.
[00:58:09] You dance with who brung you.
[00:58:11] Quinn Ewers is your guy.
[00:58:14] You had Arch in the building.
[00:58:15] He got his few games when Quinn was injured.
[00:58:18] You got to see what he could do.
[00:58:19] You know he was not ready to go into the powder keg that was a Georgia defense in the middle of the game.
[00:58:27] You don't know that.
[00:58:28] You knew that based off how he played against the game.
[00:58:30] If you knew that, you wouldn't have put him in the game.
[00:58:33] If you knew that, you wouldn't have put him in the game.
[00:58:35] That's the thing.
[00:58:36] Coaches don't always know.
[00:58:38] Stark used to be the offensive coordinator for Atlanta.
[00:58:40] I know he don't always know Stark.
[00:58:43] He's been clean.
[00:58:44] Stop that.
[00:58:45] I'm not talking about his dream.
[00:58:46] I'm talking about his decision making.
[00:58:49] No, at the end of the day, your job is to win football games.
[00:58:52] Your quarterback was getting his ass kicked.
[00:58:54] It's okay to bench him.
[00:58:56] So how is the younger, unexperienced quarterback going to – this isn't back in the day.
[00:59:02] It don't have to be.
[00:59:04] You don't just get to –
[00:59:05] Look at some of the top quarterbacks in the country.
[00:59:07] They aren't seniors.
[00:59:10] I'm talking about you seeing him play, though.
[00:59:12] I'm not saying Arch Manning isn't legit and he's not dope
[00:59:17] and he's not going to be good going forward.
[00:59:18] I just don't think that if you have an idea and you have all this talent offensively
[00:59:25] and you're thinking, like, I got to get my starting quarterback out,
[00:59:29] who's probably potentially a first-round NFL draft,
[00:59:32] I got to take him out of this game and bring in a guy who started two or three games.
[00:59:36] Like, that's one thing.
[00:59:39] It's like I think coaches panic in those moments.
[00:59:42] It's like, listen, big picture.
[00:59:43] If you lose this game, you go down swinging with your guy.
[00:59:47] When you go to the podium next week, the questions about Arch Manning starting,
[00:59:52] like, listen, Quinn is our guy going forward.
[00:59:55] We believe in Quinn.
[00:59:57] We just ran into a really, really, really tough Georgia team.
[00:59:59] They've won 50 of their last, like, 52 or 53 games.
[01:00:04] It's like their last five losses are all to Alabama.
[01:00:07] All to Alabama.
[01:00:10] We didn't.
[01:00:11] It wasn't like we were out there against Texas Tech and he was struggling
[01:00:15] and I want to see.
[01:00:16] But now the conversation is like he's going to have to answer multiple questions
[01:00:22] about Arch Manning going forward because you've already opened the door
[01:00:27] to how much confidence you start having.
[01:00:30] Well, you get paid the big bucks to not panic.
[01:00:33] Just like when the Steelers lose a game, people are going to say,
[01:00:36] is Justin Fields going to play?
[01:00:37] That's just the nature of the game.
[01:00:39] That's the difference.
[01:00:40] Justin Fields was already playing.
[01:00:42] So look at the conversation when he said, I'm going to start Russell Wilson.
[01:00:45] It was like, so that was the whole conversation all week.
[01:00:48] But that's at the professional level.
[01:00:49] You also have professional tape.
[01:00:51] And Arch also brings a running threat to the game that Quinn Ewers doesn't have.
[01:00:55] And the problem was, is that he wasn't getting time to throw passes.
[01:00:59] So therefore, I'm going to try to dude out with some legs and see if we can get something.
[01:01:03] Well, how about you look at the call sheet and say, how do I get the ball to blue in the flat?
[01:01:08] Maybe I get it out quicker.
[01:01:09] Or maybe I run some draw plays.
[01:01:11] Or maybe I run some screen passes.
[01:01:12] Maybe I look at this call sheet.
[01:01:14] And they came out in the second half and they played better.
[01:01:17] So no harm no foul.
[01:01:18] And rely on my game plan and not the way panic held Mary in the second quarter
[01:01:23] about putting this guy in.
[01:01:24] What if that shattered Arch's confidence?
[01:01:27] What if he was like...
[01:01:27] That shit wasn't going to shatter his confidence.
[01:01:30] He got a whole offseason next year.
[01:01:32] How much confidence?
[01:01:33] He got a whole offseason next year.
[01:01:35] If Georgia was going to shatter his confidence a couple of nights ago,
[01:01:39] his confidence is going to get shattered in Columbus next year.
[01:01:42] Okay, cool.
[01:01:43] How confident is Bryce Young when you see him stand on the sideline right now?
[01:01:47] He got a bitch for Andy Dalton.
[01:01:48] Yeah, Bryce Young is like our height.
[01:01:50] He's a professional.
[01:01:51] And he's smaller than us.
[01:01:53] That's different.
[01:01:55] Arch Manning is football royalty.
[01:01:58] He spent multiple years under Nick Saban and under all that pressure.
[01:02:02] And look at the lack of confidence he has.
[01:02:04] Look at Justin Fields' face.
[01:02:06] Justin Fields.
[01:02:07] No!
[01:02:07] He's been to a shitty-ass team that doesn't have any other talent on it.
[01:02:11] Check it out.
[01:02:11] I drove.
[01:02:12] Listen, I drove and dropped my daughter off out the Pittsburgh area that day,
[01:02:17] like on Sunday.
[01:02:17] I drove out there.
[01:02:19] It was very warm.
[01:02:21] It was like 70-something degrees.
[01:02:23] First half of the game, Justin Fields didn't have a jacket on when Russell Wilson was struggling.
[01:02:30] Was standing there, helmet in hand, helmet on his head.
[01:02:33] No coat on.
[01:02:34] Russell started cooking.
[01:02:35] He was sitting on the bench, no helmet with his coat on.
[01:02:38] He's like...
[01:02:39] Because you could tell.
[01:02:41] He probably thought, I'm going to get back in his game.
[01:02:44] Nah, bro.
[01:02:44] He didn't get back in because Russ started to cook.
[01:02:46] I'm telling you.
[01:02:47] I watched him.
[01:02:49] So next year, if Arch comes out in struggles in that first game at Columbus...
[01:02:54] I know, I know.
[01:02:55] I know I'm asking you a different question.
[01:02:57] I'm asking you a different question.
[01:02:58] If Arch comes out in that game at Columbus next year in struggles,
[01:03:02] are you going to say, well, that's their fault.
[01:03:05] They should have scheduled Western Michigan first.
[01:03:07] Oh, I think all these top schools should schedule a bump first.
[01:03:11] Like Western Kentucky or something like that.
[01:03:15] I got you.
[01:03:17] No, like, I think all the top schools should just play...
[01:03:20] Yeah, holler at me when Park get a team.
[01:03:23] I'm just saying that at the end of the...
[01:03:24] Don't worry about the Pirates.
[01:03:25] Yeah, let me know when the Pirates get a team.
[01:03:28] You know, but I'm just saying that at the end of the day,
[01:03:31] you know what I mean?
[01:03:32] Like, look, you know, Arch Manning was brought there.
[01:03:36] He's football royalty.
[01:03:38] I don't have a problem with...
[01:03:41] I don't have a problem with my team is stuck in the mud right now.
[01:03:46] Let me try to switch something up.
[01:03:48] Because if they would have lost 38-3, people would have said,
[01:03:51] why didn't Arch play?
[01:03:52] But that's...
[01:03:53] I'm good with that.
[01:03:55] But they didn't lose 38-3.
[01:03:58] They didn't need to put Arch in because he didn't give him a spark.
[01:04:01] I'm not saying that they needed to.
[01:04:03] I'm not saying that they needed to.
[01:04:04] I'm just saying I don't have a problem with it.
[01:04:06] I have a problem with it.
[01:04:07] I don't have a problem with it.
[01:04:08] Because I look at it like, yo, you're currently undefeated.
[01:04:12] There's no need to go away from what you've been doing all year.
[01:04:16] Yes, you need to make in-game adjustments.
[01:04:17] I get that.
[01:04:18] But you don't need to shuffle players.
[01:04:20] You don't need to shuffle people around.
[01:04:22] I think personnel management and mental management of people is...
[01:04:26] That's the key to your success as a coach.
[01:04:29] He has to be calm in the face of this fire.
[01:04:32] I think that was more of a panic move versus a strategic move.
[01:04:36] Because if they were to call a bunch of just immediate quarterback runs with him
[01:04:40] and brought Quinn yours in, I get it.
[01:04:43] Or if you had a backup quarterback that was primary runner like what Michigan had
[01:04:47] with Orgy, I can see that.
[01:04:49] But what you have with Arch and Quinn is the same thing.
[01:04:53] And Arch Manning is a little bit more athletic.
[01:04:55] But he looked very athletic against the University of Louisiana Monroe.
[01:05:00] No one's going to look very athletic against Georgia.
[01:05:01] I will have you know that the University of Louisiana Monroe is atop the Sun Belt right now.
[01:05:07] So don't be disrespectful.
[01:05:08] They are not Georgia.
[01:05:11] Nobody's Georgia.
[01:05:12] That's the point.
[01:05:13] Look at the Philadelphia.
[01:05:15] Nobody's Georgia.
[01:05:17] That's what I'm saying.
[01:05:18] So like he was going to be able to do all of that herky-jerky quick.
[01:05:22] Oh my God.
[01:05:22] You know, Arch Manning running like his grandfather.
[01:05:26] I don't think it hurt anything.
[01:05:27] But moving on.
[01:05:29] I don't think it hurt either player.
[01:05:32] I don't think Quinn yours is going to be like, oh my God, Arch is going to take my spot.
[01:05:35] And I don't think Sark's going to bench Quinn.
[01:05:37] Right.
[01:05:37] I don't think it benefited the team to the point where I think it put, it flowered the quarterback controversy flower pot that could have just stayed dry.
[01:05:49] Okay.
[01:05:50] Fair enough.
[01:05:51] Fair enough.
[01:05:52] I like when we disappeared.
[01:05:53] That's good.
[01:05:53] That was healthy.
[01:05:54] Yeah.
[01:05:54] Fuck all that.
[01:05:55] Let's go to war.
[01:05:57] But, you know, down in Knoxville, you know, as I was saying, you know, Tennessee beat on Alabama.
[01:06:06] Now, you know, we were talking about Calvin Ridley earlier.
[01:06:10] The 12 catches on 36 targets.
[01:06:14] Ryan Williams, the 17-year-old, because, of course, in my preview, what I said was Tennessee is too reliant on Jalen Milrow and the 17-year-old.
[01:06:26] So, in this game, they threw the 17-year-old 20 targets.
[01:06:34] 20 targets.
[01:06:35] He caught eight of them.
[01:06:37] You know, and to date, including the Tennessee game, the Alabama backfield has not combined for at least 70 yards in any of their four SEC games.
[01:06:51] Got to run the ball.
[01:06:52] Got to run the ball.
[01:06:53] You just got to run the ball.
[01:06:55] But they are running it.
[01:06:55] That's the problem.
[01:06:56] They are running the ball.
[01:06:57] They're running it with Milrow, who.
[01:06:59] Running it with the running backs.
[01:07:01] And to me, Milrow don't look right.
[01:07:03] Don't use their running backs.
[01:07:04] Milrow doesn't look right.
[01:07:06] And I don't like when quarterbacks like him don't look right because he ain't a quarterback in the first place.
[01:07:11] So, you need to have him as healthy as you can.
[01:07:13] You out here getting beat on and taking punishment, and now he can't even do the thing that he's best at.
[01:07:21] It's, like I said, sometimes you just get – every – I think every organization, and I say this when I'm at work,
[01:07:30] like every organization needs someone that's in the organization that's completely outside of the chain of command as far as, like, any kind of punishment.
[01:07:43] Like, you need a completely impartial person, like the neurology consults that are at NFL games.
[01:07:50] They're not team doctors.
[01:07:52] They're strictly there for players and concussion symptoms.
[01:07:55] Like, hey, get that guy off the field.
[01:07:57] They don't care if it's the Raiders versus the Broncos.
[01:08:00] They care if it's Josh Allen.
[01:08:02] I don't know how they got away with that, but maybe some –
[01:08:06] They brought in, like, some waitresses with, like, chicken wings.
[01:08:09] Like, yo, we got some smoked chicken wings.
[01:08:10] They're all real.
[01:08:11] And they just lost their third train of thought.
[01:08:14] Yeah.
[01:08:15] But you need somebody that's like, yo, you need to run the ball.
[01:08:21] Like, that's someone that, like, a coach can say, man, get out of my face.
[01:08:24] Like, you got a different color hat on.
[01:08:26] Like, you on the sidelines, bam, you in the blue hat.
[01:08:28] Like, yo, listen, you're not running the ball enough.
[01:08:32] So, look at your play sheet and run the ball.
[01:08:35] You know what Bama did?
[01:08:36] It's like, you can't have the talent that they have up front and the –
[01:08:41] and with your running – and, like, not get them 20 targets to Ryan Williams.
[01:08:46] You could have given him 12 targets and got eight more rushes from two running backs for each.
[01:08:51] You know what Bama did do, though?
[01:08:53] You're a missed tackle away from a big game in the college football game.
[01:08:56] You know what Bama did do in this game, though?
[01:08:59] 15 penalties, 115 yards, three for 14 on third down.
[01:09:04] They got tackled for loss nine times.
[01:09:06] They got outrushed 217 to 89.
[01:09:08] Get them out of here!
[01:09:11] Get Bama out of here!
[01:09:13] Wait, no, no, no, Paul.
[01:09:14] What was their average third down yardage?
[01:09:17] Third and seven.
[01:09:19] Third and seven.
[01:09:20] You know, and that's the thing, right?
[01:09:21] If you run the ball, you're not third and seven.
[01:09:23] If you run the ball effectively, you don't end up in third and seven as average for a game if you're running the ball effectively.
[01:09:30] So I was trying to find a way to say this.
[01:09:34] And shout out to Uncle O because, you know, keep it simple, right?
[01:09:38] This guy is coming in trying to put his program into place.
[01:09:43] You know, it's going to take time.
[01:09:45] You know, like Nick Saban went six and seven his first year.
[01:09:48] And I know that Nick Saban didn't inherit a team that had the talent that this Alabama team has.
[01:09:53] But also factoring in the fact that Alabama lost a lot of players to the transfer portal.
[01:10:00] You know, we talked about that when he first took over.
[01:10:03] So, you know, we talk about the secondary.
[01:10:06] Well, I've been talking about the secondary all year.
[01:10:08] And trust me, Nico missed a lot of open receivers the other day or that game could have been worse than it was.
[01:10:15] So now when I look at Alabama, you start to think about it.
[01:10:19] You go down their schedule a little bit and you just wonder, you know, how this story plays out.
[01:10:25] You know, so they get Missouri coming in this week.
[01:10:28] You know, so you figure they should be all right there, even though their quarterback pulled a Willis Reed and came back to beat Auburn this past weekend.
[01:10:36] They get their bye week and go to LSU.
[01:10:39] You know, and then, of course, they get your guys.
[01:10:41] They get the Mercer Bears.
[01:10:44] Yeah.
[01:10:44] You know, then they go to Norman.
[01:10:46] Jackson Arnold is starting that quarterback again.
[01:10:48] OU just fired their offensive coordinator.
[01:10:51] And then they host Auburn.
[01:10:53] So as you look at it, you say to yourself, they could win a lot of these games.
[01:10:58] They could win out, you know, or they could lose at Death Valley because Brian Kelly hasn't lost a night game there since he's been the head coach.
[01:11:06] You know, so but that doesn't make Bama a playoff team.
[01:11:09] Like even if they were to win out, they will make the playoff if they win out.
[01:11:13] But I'm just saying that doesn't mean that they are a playoff team.
[01:11:17] Not yet.
[01:11:21] They got yet.
[01:11:21] They got to win out.
[01:11:22] I don't think.
[01:11:24] No, the third loss is going to be bad.
[01:11:27] Because when you look at the SEC at large, just look at the SEC at large.
[01:11:32] Mr. Logical, here's one.
[01:11:33] And Mike, this one's for you, too.
[01:11:35] Who are the two undefeated teams in the SEC right now as far as conference play goes?
[01:11:51] Florida?
[01:11:52] No.
[01:11:52] They're not undefeated.
[01:11:54] Tennessee?
[01:11:55] Nope.
[01:11:57] Texas A&M?
[01:11:59] Yes.
[01:12:01] I mean, it's 32 teams in the SEC.
[01:12:05] I don't think it's quite that many.
[01:12:07] Not South Carolina.
[01:12:10] LSU?
[01:12:11] Yes.
[01:12:12] So Texas A&M and LSU are the only two undefeated teams in the SEC.
[01:12:16] And oh, by the way, they play each other this weekend.
[01:12:19] You know, you got Georgia with one SEC loss to Alabama.
[01:12:22] So there's your tiebreaker if that matters.
[01:12:25] We'll see what the committee does.
[01:12:27] But if that matters, Alabama has the tiebreaker over Georgia if it comes down to that.
[01:12:31] You got Tennessee who just beat Alabama with one loss as well in the conference.
[01:12:36] And they still play Georgia.
[01:12:38] At Georgia, by the way.
[01:12:40] You know.
[01:12:41] Then you got Ole Miss still sitting there even though they have two losses already.
[01:12:46] So they're not necessarily a factor.
[01:12:48] But they do host Georgia in a few weeks.
[01:12:52] You know.
[01:12:53] So, like, when I say all that to say the SEC is nowhere near determined yet.
[01:12:58] You know.
[01:12:59] Because the loser of that LSU A&M game is taking a loss this weekend.
[01:13:03] And if it's LSU, they got Bama in two weeks.
[01:13:08] So Bama has a chance at a ranked win or, like, a big-time win, you know, in that moment in time.
[01:13:15] So, you know, you just go from there.
[01:13:17] Or, you know, like, the SEC – Alabama's not done.
[01:13:21] But I wouldn't necessarily plan to book any playoff tickets.
[01:13:26] Yeah.
[01:13:27] Their losses were pretty bad considering that –
[01:13:33] Now, remember Mike, Tennessee lost down at Vietnam.
[01:13:37] They have the talent.
[01:13:40] Like, even with the transfer – people transferring out, Caleb DeBoer still brought in talent.
[01:13:46] I mean, he was just in the national championship game.
[01:13:49] Mm-hmm.
[01:13:51] Yeah.
[01:13:52] So, you know, Alabama will be fine going forward.
[01:13:55] Sometimes you just kind of fall in love with – you just get enamored with, like, Jalen Monroe just running too much a la Anthony Richardson.
[01:14:06] You just figure, like, you know, if I keep running my quarterback, he'll pop one.
[01:14:10] Just run the running back.
[01:14:12] Yeah, he'll pop one.
[01:14:13] It'll be his shoulder.
[01:14:14] Next time it'll be his ribs, you know.
[01:14:17] So, yeah, you got that going on.
[01:14:19] You know, this week, you know, coming up, we got a big one up in your neck of the woods, you know, up at MetLife Stadium.
[01:14:26] We got Notre Dame coming to town to take on the United States Naval Academy, you know.
[01:14:34] So, that's going to be a big game as far as playoff pitcher and all that kind of stuff.
[01:14:38] You got Boise and UNLV on Friday night.
[01:14:41] So, that's Mr. Logical's team that he chose, you know, to represent the G5 in the playoffs.
[01:14:47] So, this is it.
[01:14:49] All my predictions are just kind of just – some of them are running out.
[01:14:54] A lot of them are just fired.
[01:14:56] Yeah, Navy's going to beat Notre Dame.
[01:14:57] Go midshipmen.
[01:14:59] You know, I don't know if I want to go that far just yet.
[01:15:01] But, you know, so we talk about coaches that are going to get fired and if we think they're going to get fired.
[01:15:07] You know, East Carolina and Southern Miss have already fired their head coaches.
[01:15:11] I already mentioned Oklahoma fired their offensive coordinator.
[01:15:14] Utah's offensive coordinator stepped down.
[01:15:17] Coastal Carolina fired their offensive coordinator.
[01:15:19] So, it's happening.
[01:15:20] But a coach that has not been mentioned in the fired talks.
[01:15:25] He might be safe this year.
[01:15:27] But he better win at least nine games next year.
[01:15:30] The one and only Lincoln Riley.
[01:15:33] You know, started off the season with the big win against LSU in Vegas.
[01:15:37] And then he went –
[01:15:39] That's not going to be safe unless he has somebody – a recruit lined up or a transfer lined up.
[01:15:43] Well, he's not safe if they keep losing.
[01:15:45] But, you know, but they went out here.
[01:15:47] They played Penn State tough.
[01:15:49] You know, lost in overtime.
[01:15:50] No shame in that.
[01:15:51] The shame was losing at Minnesota the week before that.
[01:15:55] Heard like two or three fourth downs on one drive.
[01:15:58] And don't forget, you know, Mike remembers this.
[01:16:00] They let Michigan go about 90 yards without throwing a pass, you know, with under a minute left in the game.
[01:16:07] You know, and what did they do this past weekend?
[01:16:10] They went to College Park, Maryland and took a 21-7 lead.
[01:16:16] And then they did not score again.
[01:16:19] Well, actually, they did score one more touchdown.
[01:16:21] But Maryland scored and ended up winning the game 29-28.
[01:16:25] So you done lost to Minnesota and Maryland within a three-week stretch.
[01:16:32] I don't know if it's –
[01:16:34] He might not be safe.
[01:16:36] But I would feel like –
[01:16:38] I think he saved his name just because it's his name.
[01:16:42] Right.
[01:16:43] But if, once again, like I said, if you have that dude with the blue hat in the room,
[01:16:46] just kind of looking at it like outside of his Caleb William years,
[01:16:51] what has he done for college football lately?
[01:16:54] No playoff appearance.
[01:16:56] And he's already lost more games at USC than his whole time at Oklahoma.
[01:17:01] Yeah, so it was like what was your advantage you had at Oklahoma?
[01:17:04] Was it because you were getting Texas talent?
[01:17:07] And it was a lot of people who – you know, you had a lot of Baker Mayfields
[01:17:10] who were just upset that Texas didn't recruit them so they went to Oklahoma.
[01:17:13] Right.
[01:17:14] Or if it's just like, hey, Oklahoma's a top program they don't have –
[01:17:17] because like Oklahoma's like high school program isn't that great.
[01:17:20] Most – half their team's from Texas.
[01:17:23] Was it just the fact that you were just in a recruiting hotbed?
[01:17:26] Well –
[01:17:27] You should be good in California, but I don't know if the – or the contract buyout.
[01:17:32] Yeah, so the contract – no, I got it already.
[01:17:34] The contract buyout is Jimbo status.
[01:17:39] You know what I'm saying?
[01:17:40] If he get more –
[01:17:40] A week status?
[01:17:41] Yeah, like his contract buyout is 80.
[01:17:46] You know what I'm saying?
[01:17:47] I mean, I know the USC endowment is probably like one of the largest hedge funds.
[01:17:52] Well, they fired Jimbo once he got down to like 78.
[01:17:56] I thought he got 65.
[01:17:58] But that's that oil money though.
[01:18:00] That's that oil money though.
[01:18:02] Like, you know, that's just a whole different – let me see here.
[01:18:04] That was like a whole different thing, you know.
[01:18:07] Let's see.
[01:18:07] What did he get?
[01:18:08] $76.8 million is what Jimbo got.
[01:18:11] So he's just literally collecting checks going on here talking about NIL deals
[01:18:15] need to be regulated.
[01:18:16] It should shut your ass up.
[01:18:18] You know, but yeah, he's got more – Lincoln Riley has more losses at USC
[01:18:21] in this two and a half years than his five years at Oklahoma.
[01:18:26] Purdue also fired their offensive coordinator.
[01:18:30] So I got to take my hat off.
[01:18:32] Congrats to the Duke Blue Devils.
[01:18:35] You know, beat Florida State for the first time ever.
[01:18:38] As in like ever.
[01:18:42] So that brings the Blue Devils to one in 22 all time against the Seminoles.
[01:18:48] You know what I mean?
[01:18:48] Norvell's fired.
[01:18:48] You know that, right?
[01:18:49] Somebody got to be fired.
[01:18:51] You know what I'm saying?
[01:18:51] Somebody got to go.
[01:18:52] And oh, by the way, you know who we got this week?
[01:18:56] We're going to Coral Gables.
[01:19:01] Yeah, he's fired.
[01:19:03] You want to take a guess at the spread?
[01:19:07] How many?
[01:19:08] 22 and a half.
[01:19:09] 21.
[01:19:11] Oh, crap.
[01:19:12] 21.
[01:19:13] Oh, there you go.
[01:19:14] You know what I mean?
[01:19:15] Shout out to the Illini.
[01:19:16] Cover your ears, Mike.
[01:19:17] Shout out to the Illini.
[01:19:19] You know, they got their first ranked win at home since 1991.
[01:19:24] You know what I'm saying?
[01:19:25] I don't know how that happens, but congratulations, Illini.
[01:19:29] So here's a question for you, Mr. Logical.
[01:19:31] And of course, I got the schedule ready for you.
[01:19:33] Is Michigan going to make a bowl game?
[01:19:37] So they're sitting here.
[01:19:38] What up, Lethal?
[01:19:39] They sit up in here 4-3 right now.
[01:19:43] They got Michigan State this weekend.
[01:19:50] Little brother.
[01:19:51] They get Oregon at home.
[01:19:53] Nope.
[01:19:54] At Indiana.
[01:19:56] Nope.
[01:19:57] Northwestern.
[01:19:59] Yep.
[01:20:00] And then they close at Columbus.
[01:20:03] Yeah, they'll get Michigan State and Northwestern.
[01:20:05] I wouldn't go to the bowl, though.
[01:20:07] Since he said he wouldn't go to the bowl.
[01:20:11] You know, Michigan, I just can't even explain.
[01:20:14] You know the Buffaloes.
[01:20:16] See, a lot of people got to do stuff like this.
[01:20:18] You know, say, you got to come in here making me heated.
[01:20:20] You know the Buffaloes are making a bowl.
[01:20:22] They're 5-2 right now.
[01:20:23] Man, don't try to hijack the show, please.
[01:20:25] Don't be trying to be crazy lethal.
[01:20:27] You're trying to.
[01:20:29] Hey, you know what?
[01:20:30] I don't know what you're trying to do.
[01:20:31] At a minute, they'll be able to beat Utah.
[01:20:33] But at the very least, you know, the question that you should be asking is, can Colorado make the Big 12 championship game?
[01:20:43] That's the game.
[01:20:44] That's the game.
[01:20:45] That's the question that maybe we should be asking.
[01:20:47] That can't.
[01:20:47] The can't.
[01:20:48] Blowing that Kansas State game was huge.
[01:20:51] Well, here's your.
[01:20:51] Well, here's the schedule.
[01:20:53] Because you had the lead.
[01:20:54] Well, here's the schedule.
[01:20:55] Lead up on a 50 yard touchdown.
[01:20:57] They got Cincinnati at home this weekend.
[01:21:00] That's a win.
[01:21:00] And just in case y'all were wondering, that is 9-15 or 10-15 Eastern on ESPN.
[01:21:08] Then they go to Texas Tech after a bye week.
[01:21:12] They host Utah.
[01:21:13] And then they close at Kansas at Arrowhead.
[01:21:17] So, you know, like Colorado could go 9-3 here.
[01:21:21] I picked them to go 8-4 this season, you know.
[01:21:23] But they could go 9-3, you know.
[01:21:25] So, I like the Texas Tech game because they're coming off a bye.
[01:21:28] But Texas Tech is like the Big 12 version of going to Mississippi State or Arkansas.
[01:21:33] So, it's always going to be tough.
[01:21:35] You know, they should beat Cincinnati this weekend.
[01:21:37] They should beat Kansas.
[01:21:39] And before the season, we wouldn't have said they were going to beat Utah.
[01:21:42] But I guess now they probably should.
[01:21:45] Yeah.
[01:21:45] Yeah.
[01:21:46] They're going to beat Isaac Wilson.
[01:21:47] So, if all the things break right, Colorado could be sitting there at 10-2.
[01:21:52] You know what I mean?
[01:21:53] You got Iowa State and BYU as the undefeated teams in the Big 12 right now.
[01:21:58] I mean, when you have the top quarterback in the country, you got a chance.
[01:22:02] You always got a chance.
[01:22:03] You got the Heisman candidate.
[01:22:05] And then you have just speed.
[01:22:07] And like I said, the relationship between the wide receivers and Shador is just –
[01:22:12] it's like season.
[01:22:14] Like, these guys just get open.
[01:22:16] They get the spots.
[01:22:17] They know Shador's going to give them the ball.
[01:22:19] So, yeah.
[01:22:20] I like Kyle.
[01:22:21] I'll let me Thursday, Leto.
[01:22:22] So, this ain't prediction night.
[01:22:23] I got to look at it.
[01:22:24] I ain't look at it yet.
[01:22:25] But, you know, I'm leaning LSU, but I can't give you a full answer just yet.
[01:22:31] You know, but here's one for you.
[01:22:33] Speaking of Iowa State undefeated in the Big 12, first place top with BYU.
[01:22:38] They let UCF run for 354 yards against them.
[01:22:45] And somehow UCF didn't win the game.
[01:22:54] How does that happen?
[01:22:55] They gave up a touchdown with like six seconds left to Rocco Beck, who we brought up during our Big 12 preview.
[01:23:01] You know, and then, of course, BYU escaped Friday night.
[01:23:04] I picked Oklahoma State in the upset.
[01:23:07] And I be damned.
[01:23:09] I be damned.
[01:23:11] You know, said if BYU didn't score a touchdown with about four seconds left to win that game.
[01:23:16] So, you know, they're undefeated for now.
[01:23:19] We'll see what happens from there.
[01:23:21] You know.
[01:23:21] Our rivals are looking really good this year.
[01:23:23] So, as a fan of sport, I like it.
[01:23:26] Yeah.
[01:23:27] And then you got Duke.
[01:23:30] You know, Duke.
[01:23:31] You know, like I mentioned, they beat Florida State.
[01:23:33] They welcome in SMU this week.
[01:23:35] Can SMU make it to the ACC title game?
[01:23:38] SMU doesn't play Miami.
[01:23:41] They don't play Clemson.
[01:23:43] They don't play Virginia Tech.
[01:23:45] And it's top two teams, right?
[01:23:46] Yep, top two teams, no divisions.
[01:23:48] They don't play Virginia Tech.
[01:23:51] You know, so their remaining schedule.
[01:23:53] They get at Duke this week, at Pitt, Boston College, at Virginia, and Cal.
[01:24:01] I mean, Pitt's going to be tough.
[01:24:03] Pitt's undefeated.
[01:24:04] Pitt's undefeated.
[01:24:05] You know, they might lose Thursday night.
[01:24:08] They might lose Thursday night.
[01:24:09] That's a lot of strange.
[01:24:10] They got Syracuse coming in.
[01:24:13] You know, yeah.
[01:24:14] It counts.
[01:24:15] It definitely counts.
[01:24:17] You know, but Duke, I mean, Pitt has Syracuse coming in Thursday night.
[01:24:22] That could be a big game.
[01:24:24] You know, Kyle McCord, let's see what you got.
[01:24:26] This is why they brought you here, Paul Pierce style, right?
[01:24:28] This is why they brought you here.
[01:24:30] So let's see what Syracuse can do.
[01:24:32] And, I mean, technically, Syracuse is alive for the ACC championship game right now as well.
[01:24:38] You know.
[01:24:39] I think the conference championship game buildup is going to be more exciting than the college football playoff because I think the college football playoff is going to be –
[01:24:50] Same old people.
[01:24:51] It's going to be the same old song, you know, different prom.
[01:24:56] Yeah.
[01:24:57] But I think a lot of these teams, especially we have teams like Illinois, 6-1.
[01:25:03] No one was thinking like they were going to be 6-1 at this point.
[01:25:06] I think we had them at the bottom of the Big Ten.
[01:25:10] Indiana undefeated still.
[01:25:12] BYU undefeated.
[01:25:13] There's a lot of teams out there playing really good football.
[01:25:15] Even Colorado, who people probably felt either extremely high expectations or very low expectations.
[01:25:22] Like, they're playing really, really good football.
[01:25:23] They had the bad game against Nebraska.
[01:25:26] Nebraska came out.
[01:25:27] You know, they were hot.
[01:25:28] It was a home game.
[01:25:29] It's like what Shadour said.
[01:25:31] Like, it's their Super Bowl.
[01:25:32] But they had the, you know, they had comeback wins.
[01:25:35] Just a lot of – just a lot of big plays that they made.
[01:25:38] And, obviously, you have, you know, the high –
[01:25:42] It's about to take shape.
[01:25:43] It's about to take shape because, like, we mentioned –
[01:25:45] I like the buildup of the individual conference championship.
[01:25:49] Yeah, we mentioned it.
[01:25:50] LSU at A&M this weekend.
[01:25:51] You know, next week you got Ohio State going to Penn State.
[01:25:55] You got Illinois going to Oregon this week.
[01:25:58] You know, Penn State pulls that off.
[01:26:00] And Ohio State's not, like – you're looking like Penn State really top five in the country with a win over Ohio State?
[01:26:07] Is this their year?
[01:26:08] You know, I think that's exciting football.
[01:26:11] Well, I know people might want to just have your standard, you know, your standard Bama, Georgia, LSU every year.
[01:26:23] But I like the parity.
[01:26:25] I think the parity has done well.
[01:26:27] I was talking about with a coworker today at work about the NIL.
[01:26:31] He's like – I think the NIL – he thinks the NIL, like, helped balance out a little bit.
[01:26:35] But, like, at a minimum it gives some players some leverage.
[01:26:38] Well, I mean –
[01:26:39] It doesn't really change that much, but it does – you know, you get a couple players here or there.
[01:26:45] Yeah, you got guys like Diego Pavia, you know, who we keep talking about, you know, went to Vandy, beat Bama.
[01:26:52] You know, they got Texas coming in this week, you know, coming off that loss to Georgia.
[01:26:56] So, you know, what you think the spread on that game is?
[01:26:59] Who is that?
[01:27:00] Texas at Vanderbilt, 18 and a half.
[01:27:11] Really?
[01:27:12] Really.
[01:27:12] You know, but, yes, Cam Ward can get to the national title game.
[01:27:16] They have a good head coach, Mario Cristobal.
[01:27:18] His decision-making is – leaves a bit to the desire.
[01:27:21] But he's an offensive line guy, so that's why Miami's always going to be good because he builds his team from the trenches out.
[01:27:28] And, you know, they have Xavier Restrepo.
[01:27:30] You know, they brought in Damian Martinez as well from Oregon State.
[01:27:34] So, this ain't just Cam Ward.
[01:27:36] Like, obviously, they got Mark Fletcher in the backfield as well.
[01:27:39] So, yes, Miami is live.
[01:27:42] Some of his throws rolling to the left, to the back line in the end zone is like –
[01:27:48] either he practiced the hell out of that throw or he just has just incredible arm talent.
[01:27:53] Like, because I've seen him make that throw multiple times this year.
[01:27:57] Like, sliding to his left, back foot on a rope, back line, back corner in the end zone for touchdowns.
[01:28:06] I've seen him make that throw, like I said, three or four times this year.
[01:28:10] So –
[01:28:10] You go to Sanders.
[01:28:12] You go to Sanders over Ward for me.
[01:28:16] You know, so real quick, last one.
[01:28:18] This is your last guess.
[01:28:21] Notre Dame and Navy.
[01:28:22] What's the spread?
[01:28:30] Navy, three and a half.
[01:28:36] Notre Dame by 12 and a half.
[01:28:40] Notre Dame by 12 and a half.
[01:28:42] Who – take that.
[01:28:44] Notre Dame at 12 and a half.
[01:28:48] Like, come on.
[01:28:49] Like, the way –
[01:28:50] But you've got to figure you're talking about the athlete disadvantage that service academies have going up against one of the best defenses in the country, probably a top 10 defense.
[01:29:01] Yeah, but none of those defenses stop the – they don't play.
[01:29:05] No, they don't.
[01:29:06] They lost to Illinois already too.
[01:29:08] Yeah, they don't play against that.
[01:29:11] How many teams have a fullback?
[01:29:14] Like three.
[01:29:16] Army, Navy, Air Force.
[01:29:18] How many teams give the ball to the fullback?
[01:29:21] Just those three.
[01:29:22] Yeah.
[01:29:22] So, you're going to – you're going to get beat on the fullback dive a couple times because they're full – if the fullback isn't like some 280-pound rumbler, it's like a –
[01:29:31] And Navy got a quarterback that can throw now.
[01:29:34] And they have a wide receiver that runs like – he's like a track athlete.
[01:29:38] He just wanted to be in the Navy.
[01:29:40] So –
[01:29:40] Yeah, Navy definitely has a chance to win this game.
[01:29:41] Notre Dame, 12.
[01:29:42] Yeah, because –
[01:29:43] 12 and a half.
[01:29:44] Yeah.
[01:29:45] 12 and a half.
[01:29:45] So, you got Riley Leonard, who's a running quarterback.
[01:29:47] Cool.
[01:29:49] We are the service academy and all we do is practice against a running quarterback.
[01:29:54] We have no – like they're not – you're not going to fake them out.
[01:29:57] You're not going to just –
[01:29:58] And Notre Dame –
[01:30:00] The military.
[01:30:01] Then Notre Dame got Army in a few –
[01:30:03] They got Army in a few weeks too.
[01:30:05] You know –
[01:30:06] By double digits.
[01:30:08] Yeah, if you are on X, if you scroll down your X every day, you know, you got to follow Cal Twitter, you know, or as they call it, the Calga rhythm.
[01:30:17] You know, like they've been killing it all year.
[01:30:20] I feel bad for their football team because they've lost all four of their ACC games by a total of nine points.
[01:30:26] So, you know, but shout out to the Calga rhythm.
[01:30:29] You know, Indiana, you know, speaking about this lethal, I really like Curtis Rourke as an NFL quarterback.
[01:30:35] The quarterback at Indiana, only problem is he gets hurt so damn much.
[01:30:40] You know what I mean?
[01:30:40] So, if you can keep the injuries away, he's got a thumb injury now.
[01:30:43] We'll see how long that keeps him out.
[01:30:45] Hit it against somebody's helmet.
[01:30:47] And then here's a stat that I thought was awesome.
[01:30:49] This one is from Richard Johnson over at CBSSports.com.
[01:30:54] So, Ricky White, I brought him up a couple of weeks ago.
[01:30:56] He's the wide receiver out at UNLV.
[01:30:58] And I was saying how, you know, when they make this change at quarterback to Hodge Malik Willis or Malik Willis.
[01:31:07] Hodge Malik Rogers.
[01:31:09] Their offense was going to take off, you know, and be even better.
[01:31:12] But on top of being their best wide receiver, he already has three blocked punts, which is more than 120 of the 133 FBS teams this season.
[01:31:25] You know, so Army and Navy got good this year.
[01:31:28] So, Mr. Logical, you know, I know you were looking at the top 25 earlier.
[01:31:33] Yes.
[01:31:35] And, you know, to sum it up, you know, this is my take on the top 25.
[01:31:42] Um, you got these writers, voters, whoever they are.
[01:31:47] They come up with a narrative during the offseason.
[01:31:50] You know, they're just regular people like us.
[01:31:52] Like, hey, I like Notre Dame.
[01:31:53] Or, hey, I like this team.
[01:31:55] You know, so they come out with the initial top 25, which don't make no damn sense because ain't nobody played a game yet.
[01:32:00] Correct.
[01:32:01] I.E. Florida State being ranked number 10 to start the season.
[01:32:05] Stuff like that.
[01:32:06] Utah being number 13, I believe it was, to start the season.
[01:32:09] Stuff like that.
[01:32:10] You know, but as the season goes on, these teams start losing games.
[01:32:16] You don't want to be wrong.
[01:32:19] You know, so if you put somebody at number 15 and they lose a game, you ain't going to drop them out the top 25.
[01:32:26] You're going to drop them to 20.
[01:32:28] And then when they lose again, you're going to say they were overrated.
[01:32:32] But you rated them.
[01:32:36] Yeah.
[01:32:37] And that's why you look at this.
[01:32:38] And that's why you brought up Illinois, right?
[01:32:40] Nobody expected them to be 6-1.
[01:32:43] Look at where they're ranked right now.
[01:32:45] So this is what we got.
[01:32:47] This is the thing that always just makes me chuckle.
[01:32:49] So Texas loses to Georgia.
[01:32:53] No slouch.
[01:32:55] Georgia goes from 5-2.
[01:32:58] Texas goes from 1-5.
[01:33:01] Miami stays at 6 undefeated.
[01:33:05] To me, Texas has to go below the undefeated ACC leader.
[01:33:14] That's only right, in my opinion.
[01:33:17] Okay.
[01:33:19] But see, a lot of people...
[01:33:22] Iowa State went from 9-10.
[01:33:24] Well, a lot of people, as they're doing their rankings, they also do, would I pick this team over this team?
[01:33:30] So, you know, when you're looking at Texas and Miami, a lot of people are probably saying,
[01:33:35] would I pick Miami over Texas if they played today?
[01:33:40] And if the answer to that question is no, I'm going to put Texas in front of them.
[01:33:44] Yeah, but that's...
[01:33:46] That...
[01:33:46] And also, you've got to think about it, right?
[01:33:49] They're in their game this week.
[01:33:51] Well, you've also got to think about it, right?
[01:33:53] Like, so, like, take a team like SMU, right?
[01:33:56] You know, who has a pretty easy schedule, you know, and they're undefeated...
[01:34:02] Or they got the one loss to BYU, but they're undefeated in the ACC right now.
[01:34:08] So, am I supposed to rank them over, like, over, say...
[01:34:14] Ole Miss?
[01:34:15] Yes.
[01:34:15] Ole Miss?
[01:34:17] Yes.
[01:34:17] No, I don't think Ole Miss is a good example.
[01:34:19] I don't want to use Ole Miss.
[01:34:20] Ole Miss is 5-2 at 18.
[01:34:22] Yeah, they're not a good example.
[01:34:23] You have behind Ole Miss at 5-2.
[01:34:28] Pitt, 6-0.
[01:34:29] Illinois, 6-1.
[01:34:30] Missouri, 6-1.
[01:34:31] SMU, 6-1.
[01:34:32] Army, 7-0.
[01:34:33] Navy, 6-0.
[01:34:34] Vanderbilt, 25 at 5-2.
[01:34:38] But you also got to think about it, right?
[01:34:40] So, Vanderbilt beat Alabama.
[01:34:43] It was 5-2 at 18.
[01:34:44] They beat Kentucky.
[01:34:47] Kentucky's not ranked.
[01:34:48] They lost to Georgia State.
[01:34:53] So, you know what I mean?
[01:34:54] How do you balance it?
[01:34:55] Is the Alabama win more valuable than the loss to Georgia State hurt you?
[01:35:00] Alabama win has Vanderbilt behind two service academies who haven't trailed in a – like, I don't think Army's trailed in a football game.
[01:35:10] They have not.
[01:35:11] And I think Indiana's in that same boat.
[01:35:13] But Indiana's at 13.
[01:35:16] Because their name is Indiana.
[01:35:18] Because their name is Indiana.
[01:35:19] And remember, when we did our preview show, when we did our Big Ten preview, I said, Indiana's probably going to go 8-4, 9-3 this year.
[01:35:27] You know what I mean?
[01:35:28] But somebody sitting in their room across the country didn't think that.
[01:35:33] So, therefore, Indiana's suffering right now in the rankings because nobody – because they didn't think highly of them during the offseason.
[01:35:40] But to answer your question, Uncle O, Miami's played nobody.
[01:35:44] You know what I mean?
[01:35:45] Virginia Tech's a decent team.
[01:35:47] You know, Louisville is considered to be decent, but I don't believe in Louisville.
[01:35:51] You know, Miami doesn't play anybody.
[01:35:54] They're not going to – they play Florida State this week.
[01:35:57] You know, they wouldn't play Clemson unless it's the ACC title game.
[01:36:01] So, I don't know who Miami's beat.
[01:36:04] You know, like –
[01:36:04] Hold up, hold up, hold up, hold up real quick.
[01:36:07] But that goes back to your point.
[01:36:09] You know what I'm saying?
[01:36:09] Like –
[01:36:10] Hold up, hold up, hold up real quick.
[01:36:12] Interjection.
[01:36:14] Bronny's in the game in the second quarter.
[01:36:20] I mean, they're up 14.
[01:36:22] But, like, I didn't think he was going to get run.
[01:36:26] I think Virginia Tech was the toughest.
[01:36:29] So, yeah, my bad.
[01:36:30] I got sidetracked when I saw it.
[01:36:32] I was like –
[01:36:33] But also, like, you know, but so going back to your original point there, though.
[01:36:40] So, do you think –
[01:36:41] In your mind, do you think that Texas is a better team than Miami?
[01:36:45] I would just give Miami the benefit of the doubt of being an undefeated Power 5 team.
[01:36:55] Because especially if you're going to put them right – if Miami was clawing up, like, Indiana at 13,
[01:37:00] I'm not saying, oh, you got to drop Texas below them.
[01:37:03] Right.
[01:37:03] But when you get to undefeated Power 5 school at 6 and you're going to drop Texas to 5, you should drop them to 6 and move Miami up.
[01:37:12] But see, but that's where the SEC stuff comes in.
[01:37:15] Because whoever you're arguing with would say, well, hey, Texas play in the SEC.
[01:37:23] And this is where you get into that conversation where they play Georgia.
[01:37:27] It's the one we have every year.
[01:37:29] Right.
[01:37:29] Miami's not going to play somebody at Georgia's level.
[01:37:32] So, should I rank Miami ahead of Texas just because they're undefeated?
[01:37:36] Or should the schedule matter as well?
[01:37:39] So, whereas even though you are undefeated, I would be undefeated if I had just scheduled two.
[01:37:45] Yeah.
[01:37:45] But your conference is going to – the conference is going to, like, divvy it all out.
[01:37:49] It's going to separate, you know, the pit from the poodles.
[01:37:54] But as far as, like, this week, whatever happens, the weekend, you know, before Thanksgiving, that's a different ballgame.
[01:38:04] Right.
[01:38:05] Okay.
[01:38:05] Here's another question for you.
[01:38:07] Here's another one.
[01:38:08] Same, you know.
[01:38:09] So, if I take – so, if you lost to the team that was number five, and then I moved them up to two, I can't move you down that far if I move them up to two for beating you.
[01:38:23] Like, there's got to be a balance there, right?
[01:38:26] You know, so like when –
[01:38:27] But from one to six, that's not that far of a drop when you lose at home.
[01:38:33] When you get dominated at home, dropping from one to six, that's not the fall from grace.
[01:38:38] One to 16, okay, yeah, that's crazy.
[01:38:40] But one to six, when the team you got at six is undefeated, that's my thing.
[01:38:44] It's like you got a team that's at six that's undefeated.
[01:38:48] You know, granted, I mean, if they've given up maybe 28 points to Louisville instead of the points that they did, maybe that would factor into it.
[01:38:55] But see, and that's what I'm saying.
[01:38:56] I think all that stuff matters.
[01:38:57] I think all that stuff matters, like, you know – and I also don't think that a lot of these people are actually voting.
[01:39:04] Like, they probably got somebody doing it for them or, you know –
[01:39:07] They have some spreadsheet they send them with analytics.
[01:39:10] Yeah, because I know Josh Pate, you know, he does the JP poll, which is not a ranking, as he would say.
[01:39:17] But his poll is based off of who Vegas would favor over who.
[01:39:24] You know, so that's why I said I wonder if people sit there and go, would I pick Miami over Texas right now if they were to play today?
[01:39:34] And they use that as the difference in I'm putting Texas ahead of Miami.
[01:39:38] I'm not saying that that's right, but I just think that that might be a reason that people do it.
[01:39:42] But for me, you know, I don't believe in you should just be moving up and down the rankings.
[01:39:52] So, like, for example, you know, Oregon was, like, what, number three or number four?
[01:39:56] They beat Ohio State.
[01:39:58] And then it was like, we got to put Oregon at number one.
[01:40:01] You know what I mean?
[01:40:02] Like, or that was the conversation.
[01:40:03] It didn't happen.
[01:40:04] But that was part of the – I don't think that that one win just – if I didn't think you were number one before.
[01:40:11] You know what I'm saying?
[01:40:12] Yeah, like, if I didn't think you were number one before, then I'm just – you won a game and now I'm just like, yo, nothing else changed, but you won.
[01:40:20] So I'm going to put you at number one.
[01:40:21] They did the same thing with Texas when they beat Michigan.
[01:40:24] It was like, oh, God, like, look what Texas did in Ann Arbor.
[01:40:27] We got to jump them to number one.
[01:40:29] And now we see after the fact, like, look at Michigan.
[01:40:34] So I don't believe in that either.
[01:40:36] You even – like, for me, the rankings should change every week, you know, in some ways.
[01:40:42] You know what I mean?
[01:40:43] Because week to week you're playing different opponents, you know, different schedules, so on and so forth.
[01:40:48] So if you play, say, hypothetically, right, like Alabama, for example, they closed the season at Oklahoma and then Auburn in the Iron Bowl.
[01:40:58] So if you're Alabama and you're – say you're number 10, you win those games back-to-back if you value at Norman in the rivalry game, then Alabama should move up higher in your ranking regardless of what the other teams in front of them did.
[01:41:13] Yeah.
[01:41:14] You know, and that's the way that I view it.
[01:41:16] So I might have Texas number one one week and have Georgia number one the next week because it changes week to week.
[01:41:22] Like, the rankings are flawed because there's no real – there's no real algorithm.
[01:41:28] The rankings are there for us to do what we're doing right now.
[01:41:31] Yeah.
[01:41:32] This is happening.
[01:41:32] This is kind of a conversation.
[01:41:33] I'm just watching the game.
[01:41:34] Watching – waiting for Bronny to score?
[01:41:36] Waiting for him to score.
[01:41:37] He just took a three and Anthony Edwards is taking it to him.
[01:41:43] You know, but –
[01:41:43] He missed his three, but yeah.
[01:41:45] But yeah, I think the rankings should change.
[01:41:46] It should be fluid.
[01:41:47] It should be fluid.
[01:41:48] You know, just like Navy, right?
[01:41:50] Where's Navy right now?
[01:41:51] Navy is 24.
[01:41:53] So what do you do if they beat Notre Dame?
[01:41:57] Four.
[01:41:58] Because Notre Dame is what?
[01:41:59] Top ten, right?
[01:42:00] Notre Dame is 12.
[01:42:03] 12.
[01:42:03] Okay.
[01:42:05] So if Navy beats Notre Dame this weekend –
[01:42:07] No matter what Ole Miss does, Navy has to go above Ole Miss.
[01:42:11] What kind of bounce should Navy get if they beat Notre Dame?
[01:42:20] See what I'm saying?
[01:42:21] Yeah.
[01:42:21] I think –
[01:42:23] And how far should Notre Dame fall?
[01:42:26] Because normally you would look at it and go, they lost to Navy?
[01:42:29] But Navy's a ranked team, so I can't punish them but so much.
[01:42:33] Or else you're telling me that your rankings don't even make sense in the first place.
[01:42:37] If –
[01:42:37] Now, I mean, obviously if Navy comes out and beat them 48 to nothing,
[01:42:41] that's a whole different conversation.
[01:42:42] But if Navy just simply wins the game, you know, say how far does Notre Dame fall for losing to a ranked team on a neutral field?
[01:42:52] I think Navy's going to do pretty well.
[01:42:55] I think –
[01:42:56] I think defensively they're going to be able to –
[01:42:59] The quarterback run seems to be one of Notre Dame's biggest weapons offensively.
[01:43:05] It seems like people can't stop the zone.
[01:43:07] Reeve or Riley Leonard.
[01:43:09] I think Navy's going to be able to handle that, and I think Army's going to be in the same boat.
[01:43:15] Just because –
[01:43:15] Notre Dame will lose the both of them?
[01:43:17] Absolutely.
[01:43:18] Oh, okay.
[01:43:19] Well, there you have it, y'all.
[01:43:20] Upsets of the year.
[01:43:21] Picked right here by Mr. Logical.
[01:43:24] Yeah.
[01:43:24] But, you know –
[01:43:25] I always feel like Notre Dame is just –
[01:43:27] I think the gold helmets and the allure.
[01:43:30] When you break it down, like, Riley Leonard can't throw.
[01:43:33] So when they stop the run, he has to throw.
[01:43:36] Okay.
[01:43:37] Or when Navy's controlling the clock and they go up 14-0 on the first two possessions
[01:43:40] because they're literally perfect in the red zone.
[01:43:45] So, they get there.
[01:43:47] Because, you know, the play action –
[01:43:49] the play action –
[01:43:50] the play action when Georgia Tech was running, you know, that wing T offense,
[01:43:56] all that, it was effective when they had Calvin Johnson.
[01:43:59] I believe Ryan was still shooting threes.
[01:44:00] But it was Calvin Johnson.
[01:44:02] Well, what Navy –
[01:44:02] when they do it, it's like they run the ball so well.
[01:44:05] They do the play action so well.
[01:44:07] They run so much motion off of that that their wide receiver can't –
[01:44:13] it's track speed.
[01:44:15] All right.
[01:44:15] So, last question.
[01:44:16] All he has to do is get open.
[01:44:16] And if he catches it, if he catches it in the open, you're not catching up to mine.
[01:44:20] Yeah, Notre Dame's best corner is out for the season.
[01:44:23] You know, but last question.
[01:44:25] Can Notre Dame lose to one of Army or Navy and still make the playoff?
[01:44:34] I would say no because –
[01:44:38] I mean, the SEC is probably the biggest piece because I think some of those teams
[01:44:43] are going to kind of cancel each other out.
[01:44:46] But they're going to move each other up.
[01:44:53] So, without seeing, like, everything, like, out and, like, you know,
[01:44:58] being able to, like, push buttons and switch out an answer,
[01:45:01] I don't know if a two-loss Notre Dame team this year really moves the needle.
[01:45:07] Because at no point did they look like a national title contender.
[01:45:11] Those years when they looked like national title contenders and they, you know,
[01:45:15] they lose a game like Ohio State like last year.
[01:45:18] When they lost a game like Ohio State, it was like, okay.
[01:45:20] But they looked good in their first few weeks.
[01:45:23] They have a feather in their pocket.
[01:45:26] The loss to Northern Illinois makes them not look like – they look like an average team.
[01:45:32] They look like an S&U with that loss.
[01:45:34] But going back to what I asked you about Vanderbilt, you know, what's more important,
[01:45:38] the Bama win or the Georgia State loss?
[01:45:40] What's more important, the loss to Northern Illinois or that win at Texas A&M?
[01:45:46] Especially if Texas A&M beats LSU on that same field this weekend.
[01:45:52] Especially if Texas A&M makes it to the SEC Championship game.
[01:45:56] But does Notre Dame look like they are a championship –
[01:46:00] No, not at all.
[01:46:02] But a lot of these teams don't.
[01:46:03] A lot of these teams – Iowa State doesn't even though they're undefeated.
[01:46:06] A two-loss Bama team under Nick Saban that lost on last-second field goals,
[01:46:12] even though they had those two losses,
[01:46:14] they look like a team that could compete for the national championship.
[01:46:18] So then with two losses, Nick Saban was trying to make the argument that,
[01:46:22] hey, we lost on the last-second field goals.
[01:46:24] And I get it, but, you know, it's those two losses.
[01:46:27] But there was an argument to be made there because they look like a team
[01:46:31] that could compete for the championship.
[01:46:33] Notre Dame does not look like a team that is championship pedigree.
[01:46:38] They look like a good team.
[01:46:40] They look like SMU.
[01:46:42] They look like Illinois.
[01:46:44] They look like a regular team that's having a very, very good seven weeks.
[01:46:50] So two losses for them, especially if this loss happens to Navy,
[01:46:55] I think people will still try to hype Navy up, but it's going to be like,
[01:47:00] all right, calm down.
[01:47:00] You had them at 24 when they were 6-0.
[01:47:03] So don't act like, oh, because they just beat Notre Dame,
[01:47:07] transitive properties.
[01:47:08] Now they're just way better than we are.
[01:47:10] You know that's exactly what's going to happen.
[01:47:13] That's what I'm saying.
[01:47:14] So it's like that's going to be the conversation.
[01:47:18] Yeah, because what happens at the end of the year, right?
[01:47:21] And if you're a team that needs that conversation,
[01:47:24] if you need someone to hype up the team that beat you in order to get you,
[01:47:29] then you're not a championship team.
[01:47:31] Mm-hmm.
[01:47:32] All right.
[01:47:33] You know, well, you know, we'll see what happens at the end of the year.
[01:47:36] You know, Boise State, like I said, at UNLV this week, you know, we'll see.
[01:47:40] What if one of those service academies finish undefeated?
[01:47:44] You know, do they get in over Boise?
[01:47:46] You know, all this kind of thing.
[01:47:47] And the thing with Army-Navy is something that we should keep track of.
[01:47:51] They could potentially play for their conference championship.
[01:47:55] Before.
[01:47:56] Before they play for like the command.
[01:47:58] The Army-Navy game.
[01:48:00] The following week.
[01:48:01] So there could be a situation where Navy wins out, wins its conference,
[01:48:06] they're undefeated.
[01:48:07] But.
[01:48:08] But.
[01:48:08] They come back and Army beats them and now they're 12-1.
[01:48:11] But.
[01:48:13] Luckily in that scenario,
[01:48:16] the playoff selection happens before the Army-Navy game.
[01:48:21] So if one of them got selected, then it doesn't matter.
[01:48:25] But then it's going to be, well, now Army comes back and beats
[01:48:29] a conference champion.
[01:48:31] It's like, yo, we're 12-1.
[01:48:33] Too late.
[01:48:34] So, yeah.
[01:48:35] You should have won the first game.
[01:48:37] You should have won the first game.
[01:48:38] That's why you're not going to be able to have a 10-2 Notre Dame in.
[01:48:43] Okay.
[01:48:44] Because it's going to be better.
[01:48:46] It's going to be better wins.
[01:48:48] It's going to be better stories.
[01:48:49] And this Notre Dame team, they don't have the quarter.
[01:48:52] They don't have the coach you're rooting for.
[01:48:54] They don't have the quarterback you're rooting for.
[01:48:57] They don't have, like, a defensive player.
[01:48:59] Like, that man tied a tail.
[01:49:00] Hey, but you're mister.
[01:49:01] They don't have, like, the allure of the allure.
[01:49:03] I know, but you're mister.
[01:49:04] They're trying to fill these NFL stadiums, right?
[01:49:06] Yeah, true indeed.
[01:49:07] But I don't.
[01:49:12] And I don't know why people are such Notre Dame fans, but they are.
[01:49:15] Because they're the Catholic University.
[01:49:19] Just like BYU.
[01:49:20] Just like Liberty.
[01:49:21] You know what I'm saying?
[01:49:22] Just like Baylor.
[01:49:23] They got the religious.
[01:49:24] Yeah, but a two-loss BYU and a two-loss Liberty, we're not even having this conversation.
[01:49:30] Yeah.
[01:49:31] Especially with one loss in Northern Illinois.
[01:49:32] Well, you got to remember, like, there would be no college football without Notre Dame.
[01:49:39] On that note.
[01:49:41] There would be no college football without Theodore Roosevelt.
[01:49:44] We will be back on Friday with Picks, Picks, Picks.
[01:49:49] He is Mr. Logical.
[01:49:51] Do not bring feelings to a fact fight.
[01:49:53] Don't do it.
[01:49:54] And I do not.
[01:49:55] I repeat, I do not hate Julius Randle.
[01:49:59] We'll see you in a few days.
[01:50:00] Please like, review, subscribe, share, rate, do all the free things.
[01:50:05] Do all the good things.
[01:50:07] We love you.
[01:50:10] And we out.
