[00:02:42] Over To You The Only Thing I'm Gonna Say Real Quick Is You Know I'm Shocked That Caleb Downs Went As Low As He Did And Then Of Course You Know We Talked About Ruben Bain Possibly Slipping But I Didn't Think He Would Go That Far Down So What Were Your Takeaways From Night One? I Was Not Surprised With Bain Or Caleb Downs Because Of The Reports

[00:03:07] I Think The Players That Got Picked Ahead Of The Players I Think The Players That Got Picked Ahead Of Them All Kind Of Had An Exceptional Physical Physical Trait That A Team If You're Drafting In The Top 3, 5, 7, 9 Some Of Those Teams Are Consistently In That Range I Think You Go With The Shore Plug And Play Because This Person Meets All The Physical Requirements That We Need And

[00:03:35] There's No Like Exception Ruben Bain's Arms I Don't Know How Much That's Really Gonna Impact On The NFL Level

[00:03:44] Because If You Look At The College Level He Played At The Highest Level National Championship ACC Top Tier Competition And He Was Dominant But A 6'5 NFL Offensive Tackle Is Their Arm Length Really Gonna Be That More Sufficient Max With Their Whatever Strength That They've Accumulated While They've Been In The NFL Is That Gonna Limit Him So It's Like If You Have Those Questions You Can Say You Can Say You Can Say You Know What I Gotta Go With The Other Sure Thing

[00:04:13] But If You're A Team Like Tampa You're Like You Know What I Think We Can Make This Work Then You Make It Work But These Other Teams Are Just Trying To Build Their Roster The Best Way They Can I Think They Couldn't Take Any Shots So You Know I Was Looking At This And First Of All You Know Hats Off To The Jets You Know They Get A Lot Of Trash Thrown Their Way A Lot Of Trash

[00:04:38] A Lot Of A Lot Of A Lot Of You Know That People Make Fun Of Them And They Went Out Here And So Far I'm Loving This Draft You Know One Of The Picks I'm A Little Not Necessarily Iffy On Because It's Still A Great Player But The Fit Itself I Question A Little Bit But They Went Out And Got Kenny Sadiq You Know Best Tight End In In The Draft You Know And I Was Talking About Him Potentially Being That This Is What Y'all Thought Kyle Pitts Was Supposed To Turn To You Know What I Mean Then They Went And Got Old

[00:05:08] Omar Cooper Missed The Toe Tap Against Penn State You Know Big Receiver Who Could Do A Lot Of Things He Can Get You Yards After The Catch He Can Go Across The Middle He Can Go Deep He Can Make Those Acrobatic Catches David Bailey Is The One Where I Was Kind Of Like Well They Went Out And Got To Vondre Sweat This Off Season And You Know Just The Overall Look Of The Jets Defensive Line And That You Know I Was Just Kind Of Like That's A That's An Interesting Pickup Great Player But I'm Just Like

[00:05:38] Do They Have Room For They Don't Cause They Don't Create Turnovers And The Probably The Best Way To Create Turnovers Is Get That Pass Off The Edge That Can Just Rush The Passure Right And Then Like He Can't Sit Back There For Three And A Half Seconds He Has 2.75 Seconds And Then In Round Two You Know They Went And Got My God D'Angelo Pons You Know What I Mean You Know Me I'm All About D'Angelo Pons And Then You Got The Titans Who In My Opinion Had A Great

[00:06:07] Draft Last Year You Know You Know You Know You Know You Know It Didn't Work Out On The Field And The Field Per Se Those Guys Got To Get Some Reps And Get Some Experience And What Not But You Know They Went And Got I

[00:06:16] I Mean I'm Just Cue This Up For You You Know You Know They Went And Got Keldrick Falk At The End Of The Round Because They Were A Part Of You Know Some Movement Going On In The Back Stages Of The Draft But Then With Their First Selection They Went Wide Receiver Mr. Logical You Got A Young Quarterback You Fired A Coach Last Year You Brought In Robert Sala Who Was A Defensive Wizard Brian D'Able Seemed To Be The Guy That Got Josh Allen Back

[00:06:46] On The Right Path Did Pretty Well With Daniel Jones For A Couple Of Years And Then I Think The New York Teams We'll Get Into That When We Talk About Basketball It Just Sometimes It Just Doesn't Work Out But You Got To Get Them A Weapon Now I Don't Know If Anybody's Calling

[00:07:08] Want To Move In The Move To Move To Move Up To Four Because A Lot Of The Pundits Like The Fans And Us You Know People Were Sitting At Home And On Our Sports Groups Everyone Saying Like Oh You Did All That To Get A Wide Receiver To Well Every Wide Receiver In The Country Will Be Wide Receiver To At Ohio State It's Not One Wide Receiver In The Country That Could Go To Ohio State And Be Like Yo I'm Wide Receiver One Now For The Last Two Years And If You Go Back Even A Few Years Like This Is Five Years When

[00:07:38] In A Row They've Had Like A First Round They've Had Like A First Round They Have Had Like A First Round Wide Receiver So They Are Kind Of I Know The Wide Receiver You Think Is A Big Deal But Everybody In The Country Would Have Been And Wide Receiver To To To Jeremiah Smith Hell Some Of The Deuce Who Was Starting At Wide Receiver One In The NFL Might Have Been Wide Receiver To To Jeremiah Smith They Would Have Gone Back To Ohio State With Some Extra Eligibility So I Think People Knockin' Him For Being Really Really Good Next To A Really Really Really Really Good Player Is Just A Fall

[00:08:06] I Know They Talked About The 40 Time But Jerry Rice Ran A 4-7 And Quan Bolden I Think T.O. Ran Like A 4-6 He's Running A 4-4 Now At Like 40 Something Years Old Damn Near 50 But Like I Think He Ran Like A 4-6 I Don't Think Larry Fitzgerald Ran Like A 4-3 Or 4-4 And On Top Of That John Ross Ran A 4-2-2 What Arena League Team Is He Playing For Right Now So It's Not All About Just Speak Like Can You Get Open Can You Stay Healthy Can You Catch Everything

[00:08:36] That Comes Your Way And I Got A Young Quarterback And I Got A Young Quarterback He Needs A Target To Build With On Top Of The Fact We Talk About The Building And The Leadership They Gotta Know If They Have Their Guy So You Get Them Weapons And You See If You Have The Guy Because We've Seen Plenty Of Teams Not Get Their Guys Weapons And Then They Get Rid Of The Quarterback And Hold On I'm Writing Something Down So I Don't Forget This As I Make My So So When I Look At The Carnell Tate Thing

[00:09:06] I View It Very Similarly To How I View Jeremiah Love You Know Forget All This Talk About You Don't Take A Receiver Here You Don't Take A Running Back There If That's Your Guy That's Your Guy And You Know Who Doesn't Take Those Players There The Teams That Aren't Successful You Know What I Mean Like People Told Dallas Not To Take Zeke That High And It Paid Off Now Granted You Know His Career Came To A Sudden End And Whatever The Case But They Got

[00:09:34] Years He Had A Terrell Davis Like Tejectory Like The Right Match Up Right And Then And Then If You Would Have Told Me Last Year If I Was Up In The Raiders Draft Room And You Would Have He Told Me A You Don't Draft Ashton Gentty You Know Said I Would Have Go I Would Have Told You To Go Jump Off Something So So From That Standpoint You Know When I Look At Carnell Tate And What The Titans Are Doing What Would You Have Rather The Titans Have Done You Know Because As I Look At It They Went And Got Keldrick

[00:10:01] Falk Later Which Is Going To Help The Defensive Line Along With Jeffrey Simmons Jermaine Johnson And John Franklin Myers So They Solidified That So Were They Supposed To Go Running Back No Because Jeremiah Love Went The Pick Before Them You Know They Got A Quarterback Already You Know They Got A Quarterback Maybe You Could Argue Take An Offensive Line To Help Out That Young Quarterback But Then You Get Into That Joe Burrow

[00:10:26] Conversation Right Because It Was Hey Take This Offensive Line Man But Jamar Chase Right But Jamar Chase Is Here So You Know And We See How That Worked Out So I Think Sometimes You Just Have To Go Get What You Need And For The People Out There Saying Hey The Titans Should Have Traded Down Here's A Secret You Need A Team To Agree With You You Need A Team To Agree With You

[00:10:49] Then You're Not Gonna And If You Think About Like All The Teams That Were After Them Because It's Like Oh Don't Take That Guy You Know The Conversation For Detroit Wasn't Was Like Don't Take Calvin Johnson Because You Guys Taking Wide Receivers And It Hasn't Worked Out That Was A Real Conversation And Leading Up All The Way Up Until The Pick

[00:11:08] And I Remember Mel Kiper Jr. I Don't Know If He Agreed Or Disagree But I Remember Like Distinctly They Were Having Conversations In The Booth Before The Pick Was In Saying Because They Draft That Was It Carlos Rodgers Or Something Like That Out Of Michigan State Michigan State Can't Do It Again And I Think Mel Kiper Was Like This Guy Is Six Foot Five Two And Thirty Five Pounds You Ran A Four Three Five Forty You Take Him Like I Don't Care What You Did With The Other Guys You Take Him

[00:11:37] I Think Maybe Maybe The Titans Could Have Done Something To Wear Is Like You Know What Let's Go Crazy Athletic On Defense And Let Robert Sala's Defensive Mind Put Sonny Styles In That Defense Maybe Arville Reese You Know Like Maybe We Just Go We Just Overwhelm You Basically Like The 2007 New York Giants When They Were Rotating Like Six or Seven Guys In Defensive Line And Just Creating Opportunities For The

[00:12:05] Offense And Then You Go Get Your Wide Receiver In The Second Round That Can Help You Could Have Done That But That's That's Still A Toss-Up You Take Who You See It Depends On Who You Talk To Right Yeah It Depends On Who You Talk To Because Depending On Who You Talk To For Wide Receiver One In This Draft It Was Probably Between Carnell Tate And Makai Lemon So You Know What I Mean Like Makai Lemon Went Number 20 Yeah Yeah And Tyson And I'll Get To Him In A Second But But But But But You Know But It's Just One

[00:12:34] Of Those Things Where The People That Are Successful They Take Risk And Chances And They Follow Their Beliefs So Like You Know Even If You Look At The NBA Right You Know There Was A Time Where You Would Have Told Somebody Don't Who's This Clay Thompson Dude But The Warriors Saw Something That Obviously A Lot Of Teams Didn't See So Sometimes You Just Got To Trust Your Gut Your Eye And Die On Your Sword Live Or Die With It

[00:13:02] And I Think That's What The Titans And I Think That's What The Titans Did Here You Know What I'm Saying I Think They Got A Good Combination You Know Alemanyor You Know Came In Last Year He Came On Late But If They Wouldn't Have Drafted Somebody Like A Carnell Tate You Know What People Would Be Saying They Got This Young Quarterback And They Ain't Doing Nothing To Help Him Yeah Like Exactly So So Like Back To Jeremiah Love For A Second So I Thought That The Cardinals And I Don't Know If They Did Or Didn't But They Should Have Tried To Trade That Pick Because I Think They Could Have Got Got

[00:13:32] Got Him A Few Picks Down And Still Got Some More Picks But It Goes Back To What I Was Just Saying You Know This Is Your Guy If This Is What You Believe Because The Problem With The Cardinals Is Is Is They Went Out And Got Tyler Algier You Know In The Off Season You Know They Signed James Conner You Know Resigned Him You Know You Got Trey Benson Still On The Roster But He's Coming Off The ACL So Maybe You Release Him As We Get Closer To Training Camp Or After Preseason Or Something Along Those Lines But You Know

[00:14:02] You Know You The Cardinals If You Know But If You Are You Know That That May Is You Go To Cardinals You Know You Silet Him Go To Know You Can I Do What You Have The ballet? You Know You Go To Have The Cardinals Go Get The Running Game And You Got These Draft You Have The Draft Next Year If You Can't Get Somebody This Year Because The Rams Ended Up With Ty Simpson Who I Thought The Cardinals Could Have Got Later You Know Say Especially

[00:14:32] if they would have traded the pick away but that was the surprise of the night yeah uh i like the jeremiah love pick and the same reason that i know we have footage from three years ago and my reaction to the b john robertson pick it wasn't it wasn't because i didn't think he was a good player i just know from being a falcons fan and watching the games and watching how many teams

[00:15:02] convert third and eight third and seven third and 11 late in the game through the pass game i just see it i saw it every single i saw it for years like just multiple years and i was like you need to solidify a pass rush because every year atlanta was like 28th to 32nd in total sacks pass rush all these other things that you need and i was like so when the pick came in i was like

[00:15:28] again with the offense he turned out to be great the comparison is jeremiah love is that kind of a player get him in space uh one of the pundits said if he wore 84 he would have been a top wide receiver pick like he's that good of a player that you can't pass up on especially when you need everything like i don't think arizona can go wrong with any pick because i think paul they gotta they gotta fill

[00:15:56] so many holes anyway so having that opportunity getting a star player once again played at a high level heisman finalists and dynamic in space nfl game is all about getting your dynamic dynamic players in space so why pass up on the guy you can get in space i know it's not like a counter argument for my titans argument but i'm like for them they needed something different teams different things right like you know what i mean like it doesn't and that's that's what i'm getting at

[00:16:24] they're gonna stay there yeah but that's what i'm getting at they're gonna stay there load up your talent but that's what i'm getting at because people are basically like this is the cardinal rule this is this or this is that and it's like no the same rule doesn't apply to different teams you know because even though playbook is crazy because he has christian mcafree running option routes out of the back field but uh speaking of the call plays like that because he has him there can we can run those

[00:16:52] routes and derrick henry is an all-time great running back he can't do what christian mcafree does so if you can get a guy who can do that the similar thing do it and speaking of the titans again there's another one you know they just drafted anthony hill jr out of texas you know that's a that's a football player y'all if y'all are confused about what a football player is look up anthony

[00:17:15] you know look at look him up um so ty simpson you know um shock of the night you know um i'm not shocked that he went in the first round per se but i am shocked that he went there and at that pick because i'm one of the i guess few people from everything that i've been reading and seeing on the internet today i'm one of the few people that like ty simpson you know i like ty simpson better

[00:17:43] than mendoza if we're talking about nfl like college is different you know we've seen heisman winners you know in college not amount to much in the nfl not you know develop or they reach their peak in college or something along those lines and we've seen dudes that came out of college with no fanfare guys like bo nix for example and you know he looks like one of the better quarterbacks in the

[00:18:09] league right now versus no no shade versus a guy like tua or michael pennix you know who came out and people had these high bright futures for them and michael pennix is still young but you know but we haven't seen that play out just yet it hasn't materialized just yet so you you're talking about ty simpson here who's going to sit behind matt stafford of all people you know what i mean with

[00:18:36] sean mcveigh of all people a guy that finished the year with 28 touchdowns and five interceptions now granted the end of the year didn't end as well as the early part of the year went he was a one-year starter so the first thing that came to my mind initially was mark sanchez you know didn't have a lot of start got a better one for you because he didn't have a lot of starts you know what i mean

[00:18:59] but i think he's better than mark sanchez was mark sanchez just happened to play at usc where they tossed the ball around the same well no it's different though it's different though because when we think of alabama when we think of alabama we think of hold up when we think of alabama flowery stuff no no they did not they did not work they did not he's better than mitch trubisky

[00:19:25] you know what i'm saying like i think it's like like ty simpson is the kind of dude that you know to use your words you know he has that moxie like he is a young quarterback and with that comes a need to develop so no i don't think ty simpson can step on the field today and do what matt stafford does or get the rams to the playoffs or anything along those lines but you let him sit

[00:19:51] behind stafford for two years i think he's skilled enough to make that work so as a land of falcons fan i'm going to show you this whole draft and the developmental backup in the first round of how well that panned out it doesn't it's it's a waste it was a wasted pick it simply it was no matter how you slice it was a wasted pick um they could have used they were with reasonably on their way to the

[00:20:17] super bowl you don't draft a rebuild player three months after you were a possession to away from what from going to but they did not make the super bowl because they need a piece and you know that's what i'm saying so you you go get that piece that gets you over the hump they did that they went and got they went and got jalen watson and trent mcduffie when we talked

[00:20:45] about how their secondary was the weakest thing that they had on their team now you go you do it again you do something else to bolster your team but what they already got kobe turner they got jared verse they got brayden fisk any you know what i mean they got uh they got kyron williams and blake corum they could have got another they could have got a wide receiver there at 13 there's i mean that but to your but to your point there's receivers all over this draft yes but if

[00:21:13] you feel like you had everything then you bolster one of your positions i don't think the quarterback we still got a whole six rounds but at 13 because i'm comparing it straight up to kirk cousins michael i know the money's not the same and the deal in time but it's like the falcons drafted pinnicks and

[00:21:37] said he is our plan for like two or three years from now and if that's the case then you're arch manning possibility next year because you like there's a lot of quarterbacks that you feel next year are going to be top flight quarterbacks matthew stafford yes you can protect yourself from the fact that maybe he does get hurt and you got to bring in this guy well if that's the case you're still

[00:22:01] bringing in a guy that you don't expect to start in the nfl and only have with 15 starts in well stafford gets hurt hurt the season's over anyway no matter who you're putting in that so that's why i think a wide receiver could have made this offense so dynamic that you could have slid stetson bennett in there yeah matthew stafford might go for 275 a game

[00:22:31] but it's like i'm cool can i can i get 200 215 out of stetson bennett and run the ball well you mean stetson heads up hey listen long as he keeps that under control he can perform on thursdays and mondays and sundays and saturdays whatever days that the nfl is going to have the way that sean mcveigh answered the phone and i can tell you like that's not the pick that he wanted

[00:23:00] so now he's going to be forced to try to focus on developing a guy that you hope won't see the field you know i mean like that was the same conundrum that atlanta had it's like you drafted a guy that definitively can't help you it's not like he can come in like he like if you got the guy from arkansas you want him to be a quarterback but you draft him as a wide receiver or whatever and it's

[00:23:27] like well you want to be quarterback but you're like you know what i think he can run some routes maybe you can put in a package form maybe like you know something ridiculous like that but it's like your expectation is that this guy holds a clipboard for 20 weeks while you go back to the super while you try to make a run at the super bowl i just don't think that's the pick you use well i think i think that the rams are right there they just ran into a buzzsaw you know what i mean like and kenneth walker's

[00:23:53] gone i don't i don't think they're limited i don't think it's gone as a team i just feel like they could have they could have made one of their position groups like so formidable that that position group in and of itself changes the game but they already have that they got puka and uh devontae adams you know what i mean to go along with kyron williams you know blake quorum as his

[00:24:17] backup you know what i mean like they're the rams are loaded like regardless right if i'm making a seafood gumbo and i got crab legs and i already got shrimp at home and i get to the grocery store and i'm getting all the other ingredients for the gumbo and i see i mean they got lobster on sale i'm like now i'm gonna get some more celery because i think that a tide of meal to go like now i'm gonna go get this lobster yeah i got crab legend shrimp at home but i think this lobster could take it over

[00:24:44] the top i think getting another weapon in that in that spot could have taken over the top like think about this what the titan went the one for the jets when did he go uh 16 imagine they just they added that that that threat into that offense even if it doesn't really pan out i think his availability and what he could do with his ability benefits you more than ty simpson because i still think you

[00:25:12] could probably get a guy like ty simpson if not in this draft free agent i guess that's been it but that's what sarah mcveigh said he was like he'll be competing with stetson so you drafted a guy 13 overall who might end up being qb3 i don't know that's just he'll be two but um but but another team you know that is pretty downtrodden that has had a great draft so far

[00:25:44] the cleveland browns you know they went out and got a playmaker in casey concepcion after they traded in the first round um you know him and mike evans are the only texas a&m receivers to ever get drafted in the first round round two they follow it up with denzel boston my guy from washington and mr logical did you see who cleveland just picked about three four picks ago they went and got my

[00:26:11] guy game on they went and got my guy emmanuel mcneil warren you know that sleeper safety from toledo so so so like to your point the browns are doing that thing where they're like we can address offense and defense and now guess what jerry judy you on the clock so you know so whoever's going to start in cleveland this year is going to have some toys to play with but i'm still trying to figure

[00:26:36] out what are they going to do there are they i mean can you like i get your door is just a second year guy and watch this coming off of a couple of i think achilles tear then he re he got re-injured it i saw a couple of videos of him at you know the little training camp little mini camp and it looks

[00:26:59] like he's moving well but it's like do you put this young quarterback again under the microscope behind another starter so the fans every single week are clamoring for shador to start and you're answering the same questions week after week after week because the sean wasn't like he wasn't really tearing it up in like this time in cleveland so i mean i just i

[00:27:24] just feel like i think if they could release him they would you know i think that would be the move if they could but you know all that money you know the dead Arizona call you know oh i mean i don't know it depends on because i mean right now we still only have these quarterbacks that have been taken in the draft you know simpson and mendoza we don't have a third yet so you know you still got drew aller k club nick and the rest of the gang out here so i mean that's myer yes that's myer yeah so so like

[00:27:54] you know you still have room resets holding out for contract extension he was 111 as a start yeah and i would tell him to kick rocks too you know what i mean but the browns the browns better not what the browns better not do is they better not get carson back i'll tell you that much but uh but you know you still got um cole payton we talked about him the guy from north dakota state you got sawyer

[00:28:17] robertson from baylor you still got uh diego pavia from usc luke altmeyer from illinois um miller moss is out there even though that's probably not necessarily a guy you want to go with it's a lot of undrafted quarterbacks yeah you know say there's quarterbacks out here that you can grab and and and play uh you know bring them to camp or whatever the case may be but um the miami dolphins you know they went

[00:28:42] out and got my guy chris johnson you know in the first round they needed a corner they were the team in the league that had the worst defense passer rating wise last season they went and got jacob rodriguez in the second round yes worse than the jets uh jacob rodriguez you know um mr everything mr versatility in the second round so i'm liking what they're doing so far at least

[00:29:07] from a need standpoint um seattle they went and got jadarian price first time two running backs from the same school went in the first round you know and i talked about him the other day playmaker the punt or the kickoff return against usc they needed to replace kenneth walker so and they got him the very last pick of the first Seattle fans posted said we went got this bum and it was the picture

[00:29:33] that jadarian like standing like this yeah and his arms were about this big and i'm like how were you looking at that picture and thinking this guy's a bum right like no he's he's built like a like a defensive lineman i like him i like him that's what you need a guy that can run through arm tackles so i had an old saying mr logical now i have to update you ready for this let's hear it

[00:30:03] nobody trades first round picks like the buffalo bills they made three trades last night in the first round three trades to include one with new england you know they're not giving a shit to new england they they did yeah man they traded they traded with houston then they traded with new

[00:30:29] england and then they traded competition and then they traded to help that's how tennessee got keldrick falk was the third trade that buffalo made that traded out of the first round like what's up with buffalo with these first round picks because you know we were talking about y'all the reason that kansas city got my homes y'all the reason that kansas city got worthy you know what i mean and now like you just helped three teams out last night now granted i'm not they netted two picks off of it so i

[00:30:56] guess i can't knock it depending on what they do with the picks but seattle's on the clock right now super bowl champions uh they have the least amount of picks of any team in the draft so you know we're gonna see how efficient they can be uh kansas city traded up from nine to six to get mass or delane you know and and to my surprise i thought you know kill him down there i did too but a lot of these

[00:31:25] corners haven't been being taken either you know so that was my other shock because corner was such a deep position for me in this draft and maybe that's why they didn't go so early because there's enough of them that you'll be there later well i mean if you look at seattle seattle had these corners that were like six three six four that could move philly's done a great job drafting corners

[00:31:51] i think these teams are really looking at building from the inside out i think most nfl teams most teams right now probably have probably have their quarterback or they're in such a position contractually that their quarterback is locked in like either they're paying a guy to go to another

[00:32:14] team like with miami and they brought in malik willis or you know you look at atlanta with their quarterback that they drafted that's injured leeks and kirk cousins you know so i think every team kind of has like their quarterback and they're like you know what if we can keep this guy upright the playmaker in the skill position depth we can kind of get anybody like because like i said the game is in

[00:32:39] space so if i can get a guy that can get open in space after i create the time for my quarterback a lot of undersized quarterbacks are getting shots now i think mike willis is small obviously kyle murray still getting a shot two is probably going to start in atlanta i don't know what michael penn's health situation is there's a lot of guys like fringe starters we have a lot of rookies that been drafted in the last couple of years people trying to figure those guys out there's a few old

[00:33:05] guys that are still lingering around so i think so many teams have painted themselves into this quarterback corner problem to where they can't like like paint us up to the actual physical corner that they're like i don't know if we can risk just going out and get a cornerback i think we have to get this lineman we have to get this d lineman we have to get this offensive lineman so that's a little Seattle got a good one you know they got bud clark safety out of tcu with this

[00:33:34] pick um you know and by the way next year nfl draft you know sand down in dc so you know that'll you know i might have to make the trek for that one but um you know as so as i was looking around you know tampa bay we talked about them getting ruben bain you know um i like that pickup you know um i think that i don't i think for the value that they got him at you know to be i think that

[00:34:02] talk to me what's up oh because it's they got to play them twice a year oh okay right tackle retired they didn't go get one see smart teams like atlanta's right tackle caleb oh did you see their second pick did you see tampa's second pick it was my sleeper son of jeremiah josiah trotter yeah so just blitz atlanta you got to

[00:34:30] who can't get to a second read he definitely he can't he can't throw off schedule because he can't get he just can't get the ball downfield and offensive tackle always been a problem guards always been a problem chris lindstrom is a good pick he's like a 90 overall you know lineman all pro but the rest of the guys that they filter in bums but nah we don't do that we don't fix that problem go

[00:34:55] get little brother play court on the other side then you got um akeem mesador to the chargers you know um a lot of people you know see he falls into that window where uh people talk about him like it's the nba draft because they're like hey he's 25 so you know is he too old did they reach to grab him as high as i mean he went 22 but you know are you safe taking a 25 year old in the first round

[00:35:25] you know at a position that he plays uh that's guys are pretty old i think that was that was one of the pieces between david bailey and arvel reese arvel reese is two years younger uh-huh david bailey you know yeah he's about he's not even 21 yet he turns 21 in september yeah and the giants that was a great pick because i thought dallas might entertain trading up to get them you know then the line then the giants went lineman at 10 second round they grabbed colton hood out of tennessee so

[00:35:55] there's one of those dbs so we're up to six corners now that have been drafted but still no jamar mccoy so we'll see what happens there no um no will lee so you know we'll see what happens there um you know also you know minnesota you know in pittsburgh those were some head scratchers you know minnesota with uh caleb banks at number 18 i didn't even think of him as a first round dude especially

[00:36:20] with the injuries you know and not just the injury but we're talking about the defensive tackle with foot injuries you know and he had two of them 300 pound guy in 2023 and last year yeah so you know i know brian flores knows what he's doing but you know what i mean uh the steelers you know allegedly they were on the way to grab makai lemon and then philly said not so fast my friend

[00:36:47] and they ended up the steelers ended up taking an offensive lineman from arizona state who just started playing football like three or four years ago so i don't know if they're wanting some hakeem olajawan type effect or something like that then they went and got your born players get to the states at the high school age to start playing football and i think just physically they're so gifted and they're such but see the steelers they're such hard workers that they just work

[00:37:17] themselves a position where it's like this guy's only been doing this for three years and he is this far advanced over these guys been doing it eight nine ten years then i think that propels them during the draft let's see for me has a couple guys like that so for me though the steelers fall into that what you were talking about with the rams you know what i mean where like this is aaron rogers probably his last year because you know a lot of people didn't even expect him back this year

[00:37:44] you know dk met calf but then you talked about the other day like why didn't y'all even try it with george pickens you know what i mean and then you would have gotten you would have been able to trade him in the end of september if it didn't work out you would have gotten the same basic deal if after the first four games it didn't work out so so that's where like for me i'm looking at the steelers on that you know mike um mike tomlin's gone now you brought in mike mccarthy you know you

[00:38:10] got a chance to solidify yourselves and i'm just not seeing it but you brought up and i forgot about it so i apologize uh jordan tyson um so this was my thought with jordan tyson the saints are just trying to build a bunch of anthony davises on their team you know because you know tyler shuck the thing that sucks i i i thought the same i thought when they got this guy they talked about his injury problems i

[00:38:39] was like you already have chris alave yes that was my first thought and like uh this is a tyler shuck you know up until his last year when he was at louisville he had missed more games than he played in college so just about so it's like what are y'all doing and then you know kamara was hurt you know this year so it's just kind of like y'all are just banged up all over the place and when jordan tyson is there he's there but you know said but he's also the kind of guy that like it makes me wonder

[00:39:10] did you make sam leavitt or did sam leavitt make you you know what i mean and i think that jordan tyson is the better of the two i do think he is the better of the two but he's one of those guys that i felt like he was such a vocal point of the focal point of their offense in college whereas like he was the only option that they had a lot of times so now that you're coming to the nfl like what's that adjustment gonna be like now that you got to share a little bit well you got to share but

[00:39:38] he he's in the the reverse cardell tate uh scenario where you can slide in as wide receiver two and comfortably make wide receiver two level plays as a rookie as you're learning maybe they slide coverage this way and they go to bill belichick way when they you know you put the best corner on the second guy especially if your second guy's a rookie and then you double the other guy maybe that's

[00:40:07] the strategy that people employ when they play the saints but i mean you got to get these players you gotta make it happen i just like i just think that what we got a funny move yeah so a few minutes ago so a few minutes ago i said you said he better not take him and arizona was like hold my beer

[00:40:37] yo crazy thing is so like as we were talking about quarterbacks and i was thinking to myself like you could get a quarterback from another team i was gonna say arizona could probably call houston for davis mills so then they drive carson beck matt miller's pro comp davis mills and they're probably close to the same age you know what i mean but yeah that was so hilarious because

[00:41:03] i literally just said like you know that don't drive it makes more sense for them new coach new gm you're starting over let me put the best available players from the in the spot where i'm drafting them because i don't think there's a lot of moves they can make because some

[00:41:28] teams are like the rams for instance we use them that 13 because they are the rams and because they have staffer who seems to be like the stable position that you know that quarterback they can kind of gamble with that 13 call some people get down to 20 go down to 21 see this way he wants to move up arizona literally has to take the best player that fit one of their

[00:41:53] existing needs and just go on to the next pick and just get everybody there it's like making the band i need a dude that plays guitar i need a guy that plays the drums i need somebody that can sing i need a role manager who's up like who's up so we can make this band but if you're like you're already an established band like journey you're like yeah we can we can afford to you know we've been traveling a lot we we already know what we got we already have our system in place arizona is creating a whole

[00:42:22] new system down there so and you're definitely not going to extend jacoby brissette yeah and you know it's it's just funny man uh the bangles uh went into that texas a&m well you know last year they uh took shamar this year they went and got cassius howell so you know they are addressing the defense so i am happy to see that um the giants defense just keeps on you know loading up and getting better so you know there's that um

[00:42:53] andre drummond has hit a corner three in the playoff yeah he's been doing that in this series he's been doing that you know what i mean and and like this is that series we'll get to basketball here in a minute but like that's the kind of how this series is going like boston jumps out to a lead philly chases them down maybe even takes the lead but then boston goes on like a 7-0 run or something like that to kind of remind them yeah um but but yeah like

[00:43:21] being too easy layups yeah i like that i like the raiders traded stoops oh yeah yeah let's talk about your team yeah let's talk about my team i like sunny styles i like i like the measurables i like the fact that he used to play safety and he was like you know what i'm not gonna keep losing this weight i'm lifting this weight i'm at 250 255

[00:43:44] 260 i'm gonna just play linebacker now so so so walking through as a commander fan um i had a lot of thoughts you know um coming into the draft you know um i wanted the lane you know because you know how i am about my corners and you know that secondary so then you know as we were talking the last week when we were doing our preview and i was talking about hey you know i think caleb downs

[00:44:11] could be the best player in this draft you know provided that the knee isn't a thing you know so i was like yo i want caleb downs and then eventually like the morning of the draft people kept sending me stuff talking about washington interested in carnell tate and i was like you know what i'll take carnell tate so when the chiefs jumped up to get the lane i forgot all about sunny styles because i was so upset

[00:44:39] that the chiefs got because i think the chiefs got word that we were going to take the lane now that could have been a smoke screen but you know what i mean but there was word that we were going to take the lane so i forgot all about sunny styles and then when they got up there and announced sunny styles i damn near fainted i was so happy because like i just didn't i forgot that he was there like i was so wrapped up in the secondary that i just so i'm happy as a pig right now the only problem is a pig in mud

[00:45:06] the only problem is washington only has seven picks in this draft so i gotta wait till now like this this round that we're in round three for our next pick so now i'm anxious to see do we go receiver now you know or do we go corner now that mccoy is still out there do we go receiver now that a guy like elijah sarat is out there uh or sarat you know if he's out there you have the type of quarterback that

[00:45:31] a fourth round wide receiver can be a 600 yard guy for you yeah and we got jalen lane last year out of virginia tech you know he's gonna be our slot you know our slot kind of uh playmaker if you will to replace what diane brown was doing for us but yeah we still got receivers out here we still got chris bell from louisville we got skylar bell from yukon so we don't even have to grab a receiver right

[00:45:56] now per se now i think i would rather do it just to get it out the way you really has 11 wide receivers in their wide receiver room they can't keep all of them right so is a.j brown gone now that you went out and got mccoy lemon i would i would assume so because of the way philly plays and they're on the clock right now by the way sean mcveigh's the head coach of philly i think those are just weapons

[00:46:27] kyle shanahan the coach of philly with with those 11 wide receivers he'll figure out a way to get all of them on the field he'll have two of them lined up his tight end just to create a miss that yeah that's what shanahan does they've come a long way since the days of greg ward yeah so i i heard this question the other day and it was like why is and a.j brown so unhappy in philly

[00:46:53] and i'm like i watch a lot of the games because they're local games i get a lot of them on tv and it's i understand why he would be unhappy because sometimes it's like you know week 17 week 18 when guys have bonuses on the line hey i need i need four catches to get this 500 000 bonus and they call those toss jet sweet passes where the quarterback catches a snap

[00:47:23] and just flips it to him and it counts as a reception it's like you knew last sunday after the game a.j brown was upset because he told the reporters what's wrong with the the what's wrong with the the team and he goes and he says passing but yet you don't come out in your first script team your first 15 scripted plays and give him something simple like that just get the ball in his hands get him moving get him to make contact because wide receiver is one of those jobs like even if you're

[00:47:52] blocking if the play is not coming your way you might not even really get the get full contact with a guy and if you're running a route and the balls doesn't come your way you're just doing cardio so i can i think it'd be very frustrating where you like it's third and eight and you're working the ass off to get open you don't get the ball so i didn't even see that the eagles got um eli stowers from vanderbilt so you know i mean there they go doing it again um you know i mean it is what

[00:48:21] it is i guess at this point when you're in a division because like dallas has been killing it too like obviously they went and got caleb downs jerry drafts well because i think jerry drafts i think jerry drafts the way that i look at a team it's like this dude is big strong he might be somebody else might have given him a late second round grade and he's like i like him i'm taking him i think he just

[00:48:49] goes with his gut he trusts his gut i mean he went from whatever amount of money he had growing up to a billionaire so obviously he's made some correct decisions maybe some nefarious ones whatever the case may be but he drafts well he just doesn't he just treats his players like the enemy when he's trying to negotiate and i think that's where the problem comes like when these set rookie contracts come out whatever the rule says jerry's on it boom this is a contract this is what you get these are all

[00:49:18] the perks of being a dallas cowboy but then when it's time to renegotiate he's like oh look at all these perks you get from being a dallas cowboy like yeah that's cool what about my check right you get any commercial in the country you want yeah it's cool i don't want to work for state farm i work for you cut my check he's like yeah you get a great mustard deal i don't want a high's mustard deal i want my check jerry and he's like well you're going to green bay and then that's where that's where

[00:49:43] he botches it because he's such a fan of trying to win in negotiation yeah um and then they went and got one of my sleepers malachi lawrence you know from ucf so you know like it's one of those things another year another year that i'm looking at dallas going why can't we draft like that but uh we but we're we're coming up in two picks so we'll stick with the draft through washington's pick and

[00:50:08] then we'll uh flip over to the nba but uh aren't the falcons so cute you know say it's all about family with the atlanta falcons family reunions of what they are about mr logical as long as it works i saw that james fish jr only has to do community service so i think that helps

[00:50:36] tatum missing free throws yeah hold on you might be ahead of me um so 232 oh no i'm ahead of you then okay uh but go ahead yeah so you have james pierce jr coming back presumably all the charges seem to have been kind of worked out like that's talent versus tolerance

[00:51:00] um because theoretically he committed some crime oh he definitely he committed a couple of crimes he committed a couple of crimes and i'm not saying you should throw it all away i think the i think the nba or excuse me nfl is probably going to look into a little bit more but presumably he should be there for 13 of 17 games barring like the nfl doesn't really get involved at least or get too deep into it um

[00:51:28] the defense had a lot of turnovers last year the offense has a lot of promise the problem is a lot of people are going to be due money at the end of the 2026 2027 season and the team generally doesn't draft that well to where drake london can walk so i think if you had to pick

[00:51:53] between drake kyle and bijon i think you pay bijon i'm not sure kyle's on the franchise tag this year i could be wrong but i think you franchise him mm-hmm are you franchise drake and you let kyle walk because i don't think you can pay all of them and then try to go extend michael pennix because he's gonna be due

[00:52:22] you know so is they're just in a bad spot so bolster the defense as much as you can to where any offense you put out there gets an opportunity to create 21 to 24 points just off the turnovers and just the defenses get you the ball back a lot like the joe flacco ravens granted they're never going to be the ravens because they don't have that kind of philosophy but something to where you are

[00:52:51] you're in games you're not in games like the uh who gave up a lot of points last year we were talking about like defenses like the jets which is the jets defense would be in games and the offense couldn't do anything just wear them out it just wears them out like dallas was i remember the dallas game dallas got like a cheap big play at the end of the first half that put them up like two or three possessions like maybe like 17 points something and the jets defense have been playing great it's just that

[00:53:21] all you can only hold it for so long yeah it's so long and then after that you get you know the defense just gets tired of like dillis i'm out here busting my ass off it i look up at the scores 27 to 3. so i think yeah and you get the defense to where they can like they can keep the offense in game yeah so we got about 30 seconds until washington's pick you know um i don't know man

[00:53:47] like this draft has been very interesting um looking at it i think it's a lot deeper than it got credit for but i think that people grade drafts based off of the quarterbacks so since it was a weaker quarterback draft maybe a lot of the a lot of the draft fanfare isn't getting the attention that it should since that isn't nfl and like we talk about football being like

[00:54:14] football is like ingrained in most families like most towns the high school football team is like a big deal like my son's played football since he was you know seven years old like you know being at games learning the rules so i think people are just being closer to football i think it's easier to watch than the other sports because there's less games right it feels way more regional

[00:54:41] than other games and like the nba or mlb um it's more like i said it's more watch but all levels like you could watch some four-year-old 60-pound football players with shoulder pads and helmets and be thoroughly entertained by how it looks even like because i remember seeing them like yo their helmets are so big they were playing like helmets and shoulder pads like when we first started now they play flag for concussion reasons but they were just basically running into each other and there's always like one kid who knew was going

[00:55:09] to be a football player that was like running these 90 yard touchdowns but that level is so entertaining and i think that's why we are so locked into the draft is because we all think we know what the hell we're talking about you hit a word cover three and all of a sudden you think you're some kind of defensive expert yeah but that's why we're so into it like no one watches the mlb draft no one knows yeah let's catcher out of well i mean we don't know them velocity from plate we don't know them like

[00:55:39] like i watched the college and we know what 4.3 seconds and 40 yards is fast we know that well you know i watched the college world series but i still probably couldn't tell you half the dudes on those teams because i don't keep up with it throughout the year you know uh but shout out to the 49ers keeping you locked in all year because i was talking about that with a guy at work today i was like the nfl just does a better job of keeping you locked in with the prospects because he's a baseball guy i

[00:56:08] was like you you're locked into high school kids as an nfl fan like like i said my son's on football team i know it's one of those kids that like d1 offers well that's what that's like with college basketball right like um there's so many teams like people complain about how many college football teams there are because there's 136 but like there's like 363 basketball teams and you got to

[00:56:36] transfer a portal so sometimes you know you might be mid-season watching a big east game on a monday night and go hold up did he play for louisville last year or like you know just whatever like even though half the season's already done you know what i mean but here we go washington's about to make their selection um you know boston's up three you know mr logical's ahead of me but boston's up three with about 30 seconds left you know and and we're going to talk about that series here in a

[00:57:05] little bit too oh jason tatum what a shot um you know but i'm hoping washington goes receiver here you know it's one of the positions of need you know like we got jalen lane we got mcafree but we need another i think an actual number two because i think jalen lane slots as a number three that guy that lines up in the slot it just kills you on crossers and things like that uh mcafree is probably

[00:57:33] more of a possession receiver than you would think considering his last name you know so but i don't think of him as a straight up number two you don't think is he like a mcconnty like a like a lab mcconnty no i don't think he's that uh and then of course we got uh i can't remember his name right now oh i can remember it i just can't pronounce it the tight end from tennessee uh we went and got him

[00:57:56] in this off season um let's see oh they they uh giving love to mark riffin right now you know shout out update on espn to our last super bowl champion you know quarterback oh i love it antonio williams you know saying but but injuries you know to be like that's the thing right like

[00:58:27] um you you look at some make you miss ability is what they said in the espn yes he's a lot smaller than i thought though um six foot 187 is small i don't no i don't even think like i like they listed as i think he's i think he's like 510 or like 511 ish you know what i mean but that's just me but i liked him he was one of the guys that i brought up uh when i was talking about college

[00:58:52] football last year when we were doing our previews um saying that he was one of the better receivers in the country but you know he got hurt so you know but i love it i love the pick so mr logical what i don't love my nuggets in trouble bro my nuggets are in trouble you know is that uh well aaron gordon you

[00:59:17] know was a late scratch last night and i don't like it you know saying like it's one thing to be a late scratch right but we're talking about a calf now and if you go back to last year's if you go back to last year's playoff back to kevin durant kevin durant changed the calf injury protocol

[00:59:40] that's like when that when he game six he came out was a game six or game five i want to say it was five against toronto five yeah yeah so when when he because clay got hurt in game six yeah so when he set all those weeks and then came back said he was ready to go and he twittered his achilles i think every single professional organization from then on out has treated calf injuries

[01:00:09] way differently the nfl's treated them differently the nba is definitely treated differently where guys are like oh just a minor calf strain he'll be back tyrese halliburton another guy they didn't treat it differently well speaking of which speaking of which uh you know there's reports real quick that oh look at the bangles with the six foot four corner

[01:00:33] to cario davis um got a clemson no he went to washington um but um what was i gonna say um i lost my track oh so there's reports that have been coming out that old dame lillard you know we might see old dame lillard in this series against the spurs you know to be coming

[01:00:58] off of the uh achilles but bad news in that series is no wimby tonight you know he knocked himself out of course so concussion protocol the floor beat the out of him in that place yeah you saw that shit like he like he put his arms like he was about to take a nap too like bro put your arms out you don't say he like literally his whole head his whole face hit the ground yeah but uh but you know

[01:01:26] but yeah so uh going back to last year you know we had aaron gordon get hurt and you know denver of course took okc to seven you know which was one of the reasons why i was so heavy on denver this year but he spent most of this year injured got back and then here we are again and you know like it makes people wonder is aaron gordon the nuggets most valuable player because i don't know what's going

[01:01:52] on with yokich right now rudy gobert is up all up in him like rudy gobert is blocking his shots rudy gobert not letting him loose like you talk about people that have over the last few years been saying how good of a defender is rudy gobert actually well he's proven it this series so far yeah he can defend yokich because yokich is right there the knock on rudy gobert was

[01:02:20] like we'll use like the clipper series a few years back when i think they played against utah something like that when he him and donovan mitchison were on the same squad where you could put a stretch four out there with kawai paul george and like two other wing guys and it's like all right go bear you gotta step out here and defend this three-point shot or you gotta defend this guy

[01:02:49] the three-point line yokich doesn't make him defend the same way yokich is so effective just at scoring the ball and tripping the ball and getting everybody involved i think rudy's like listen long as i stay right here he's got to come to me guys not being available we talked about their rotation being but what seven eight deep you lose aaron court now you're running seven guys that's tough for 48 minutes

[01:03:17] you know that's a tough i know teams like to do that like oh we're just gonna go eight guys like nah stick with your 10 yeah these guys are nba players they've been on your roster all year long don't squeeze it they'll go out there they'll make plays and side note you know uh dallas traded for uh

[01:03:40] d winters you know and nakil walker alexander you know sga's cousin is your most improved player of the year you know so there's that um so jd mcdaniel's made a comment after game two and he basically said something to the effect of like just go at those dudes you know none of them can

[01:04:08] defend so i think what happened last night is denver got caught up in the media wars you know what i mean and decided like well you know what you're going to get our best defensive effort of the season you know they held minnesota to eight for 32 from three the only problem is they went eight for 31 themselves but jaculous but but the other part but the other part of that is mr logical

[01:04:33] is that people don't understand the toll that it takes to play defense you know what i mean so like when you got to play defense sometimes your offense suffers because you don't have those legs so i think denver went out last 26 yes they went out last night with the idea of we're gonna like pridefully

[01:04:59] defend our defense but then they had nothing left when it came to the offensive side of the ball jamal mary had a pretty bad game as well you know aided by jayden mcdaniel's his defense ironically but anthony edwards kept going to the locker room a few times so i don't know if he's just getting spot treatments here and there i know he came into the playoffs with an injury but they listen to him as day to day still so he's probably just nursing something i mean it's it's a lot of games man

[01:05:30] yeah it's long they started playing basketball before halloween we might be a memorial day right right right that's a whole that's a whole academic school year right that these guys have been playing full-on contact you know granted basketball is on the context but but it's a lot it's a lot on your body even with all the amenities the hotels and the masseuse and the

[01:05:55] there in the physical therapists and everything else it's a lot like we you know when we talk about the draft we'll talk about how a lot of these guys say you know what i don't want to be the 17th pick and play 82 games yeah i can just go back to college for two and a half million dollars and play 35 yeah you know said and then you got uh but then i think you're seeing something out as well that i was afraid of heading into this series because you remember when we did our preview i was talking

[01:06:24] about how a lot of the media was calling a sweep they were calling nuggets and five all this kind of stuff and uh-uh man wagon i'll have my notes in front of me but i'm pretty sure i was close to that and you know what i mean because one of the things that i brought up was i think chris finch is a really good coach i think so you know the way that people talk about how tex winters was the guy behind phil

[01:06:49] jackson i think chris finch was the guy behind nick nurse and once since he hasn't had chris finch nick nurse doesn't his light doesn't shine as bright but the reason that i brought that up was because this is dave adderman you know he got to coach in the playoffs last year but this was his first regular season and now going into the playoffs so there's still a bit of a curve there it just so happens

[01:07:17] that you have yokich so that's why i was afraid of this series from the standpoint of this could go six this could go say yokich i thought yokich was gonna be able to just kind of because the narrative surrounding yokich as far as like how you defend him is that you can't speed him up right he's gonna get to his spots he's gonna get everybody else to their spots where he needs them so when that pass

[01:07:43] comes he could throw that overhand tip pass over his head behind his head all this other stuff because you're not gonna speed me up right of the three-time mvp finals mvp i raise horses i'm from the hood of the eastern block of europe you're not gonna you're not gonna bully me you're not gonna do any stuff to me that you think you're gonna be able to do because you know you see me out here and i'm

[01:08:07] not moving fast baby because i'm a thug you know and you know so this series is going to go to distance i fear uh but i will say denver better win on sunday i tell you that much or i don't know if it's tomorrow yeah going down three one doesn't doesn't happen winning when you go down three one is very rare like we've seen it happen you know like 10 years yeah and then it'll happen twice back to

[01:08:33] back but and then of course you say name association i'm sitting on the psychiatrist couch you say cj mccollum i say in the nick of time so the hawks right so so like look actually let me start with the knicks i'm sorry atlanta i know that y'all are up to one but i'm gonna start with the

[01:09:01] little loser here so this is the thing mr logical you gotta get your big man involved early and yeah towns is a big yeah yeah and and and when we were looking at this series one of the things that we talked about was the significant size advantage that the knicks have over the hawks

[01:09:29] and what i've been seeing happen is cat gets rolling in the second quarter then in the third quarter especially the other night he has to rely on getting rebounds and putbacks and things like that they're not necessarily running action for him and then by the time the fourth quarter comes it's brunson time so they spend a whole lot of the game ignoring cat for the most part

[01:09:56] or just not emphasizing him enough because even because there were times in game two game two where brunson and cat weren't even on the floor either one of them and i'm like that's just wrong this is the playoff they did in the game three also like you gotta have one of them on the court at some point you know what i mean and that's why you stagger so so now that's part of their problem but this is the

[01:10:21] other but this is the other thing right uh we talked about this the same way that we used to talk about donovan mitchell and um darius garland how you hope that their off night isn't the same night you're trying to find when og and mikhail are going to have a night together you know because it's usually one or the other it's never really both of them come along for the

[01:10:47] ride then you got josh hart who does everything but josh hart is the type of guy that's what am i being generous by calling them six five no i i even with the height i don't think it's the size problem that they have in new york i picked them because i thought they would just be able to beat atlanta well no it's not that but but but but but i'm just saying like it's starting to show

[01:11:11] more that they don't that those guys simply really fully cannot create scoring they cannot expect scoring from mikhail bridges adenobi and josh hart when the three of them on the floor

[01:11:35] uh adenobi hit like two crazy into the shot clock threes josh hart had some missed some wide open ones mikhail bridges got the ball stripped from him and this is when they had cat and jaylen brunson on the bench i think what's happening is that they can't i don't know if they have an offensive game plan for

[01:12:02] the lineup when the three of them are on the floor without jaylen brunson and cat mcbride was on the floor he was handling a lot with um jaylen brunson on the floor but what i noticed is that atlanta did something else you laughing about it okay the steelers with the 76th pick of the nfl draft select quarterback drew aller penn state university christ

[01:12:36] what a poorly run organization um but he wasn't jaylen brunson dribbles the ball through the lane from the right wing he dribbles the ball through the lane he's a threat to stop turn pivot shoot everybody else is like oh this isn't my shot so i watched him dribble six seconds off of the shot clock multiple possessions

[01:13:05] late in that game and brunson was off the ball and then atlanta was attacking brunson defensively like they were attacking him like they might be limited in size but they were attacking whoever he was guarding they were attacking him uh-huh and i was like if they squeeze this one out they'll be all right but when cj mccullum like quinn snyder i like when he drew up the play get the first shot we

[01:13:32] can get cj mccullum put that that shot through i think they had like 16 seconds left when the play was inbounded he took that shot with 12 seconds like listen we're gonna go up one we're gonna play defense they gotta get into jaylen brunson and when jaylen brunson got the ball they blitzed him and then he threw a bad pass to joz hart game over i think the state of new york is cursed

[01:14:00] the mets have a billionaire owner they just lost 12 games in a row more like i think his network the last time we looked was like 21 billion and they lost 12 games in a row the yankees had little league level blunders in the world series against the dodgers to lose

[01:14:24] that like the pitcher not covering first base that's that's just bad luck the buffalo bills come on come on man do we have is there nfl atlanta's 28 to 3 loss is monumental as like one of the worst individual losses in nfl or sports history right right right bills went to four straight super bowls

[01:14:52] and lost they've lost multiple ac championship games to the point where they've changed the rules the following year they fired coaches i just think that new york in your title you're cursed i think joe namens got all the luck he took he took like 80 of the luck with that guarantee against the colts back in 66 and everything else has been drained out eli how ironic i took the rest eli took the

[01:15:20] rest with the helmet catch and then that mario manningham and that's been it how ironic is it that how ironic is it that carmelo won an ncaa title with syracuse and didn't make an nba finals with the knicks you know um but um no the reason i brought up josh hart's height was because uh what i was going to say was the knicks have a wild problem because like with yokich right every now and again when they play

[01:15:49] a team like okc you might see okc guard him with caruso or something like that just because caruso so scrappy and everything but with josh hart you can guard him with a center but then you could put a wing on cat so it's like you got two of those dudes that you know say the defense is just not they don't necessarily have to be accountable for in the way that they should have to have to be them

[01:16:17] right and you know because like theoretically a guy like cat you know that's where you could go i need a ruby rudy gobert or somebody like that but you could get away with putting the kill alexander walker on him sometimes tobias harris guarding him for half the series last year well tobias harris is 6'9 6'10 that makes sense yeah but he ain't this is a big guy he's not he's not quick-footed or

[01:16:41] like all that to like you know well cat cat plays like he's 6'8 i mean like his his style of play so if you are if you are a guy like we use paul george paul george has been like known throughout his career as a bit of a mismatch offensively and a pretty good defender because he was one of those first waves of guys that were like 6'8 6'9 like handle the ball like post lebron that weren't like primary point

[01:17:09] guards so i think paul george could defend a guy like cat and i think that's probably where if you're cat he's the smallest guy that should be able to guard you anybody under 6'9 if you're if you're called anthony towns you should look at like lunch meat like there's no way you're gonna send six foot six

[01:17:34] whomever over here while i'm standing here free throw line extended with the ball in my hand like he has to come up with something to where he kills the defense based off what they do to him i think some players are really good at that i think some players just kind of know like kobe was one of those guys obviously kobe's a killer kobe knew you wanted to put a bigger guy on me because i'm gonna kill you with this pump fake i'm gonna kill him with my size and my strength

[01:18:04] you couldn't put a guy who was too big on me because i'm gonna blow right by him and you damn sure we're gonna put a guy on me that was six four under so kobe let it be known like whatever guys you have for me you have two they got 12 fouls i'm gonna get them early and you got to figure out one of these two guys your best defender and the other defender and they both got to be at least six

[01:18:28] seven to guard me cat will let you guard him with a six for five guy yeah and that's the difference yeah yeah and and that's why and that's why the knicks are in trouble and you know what i mean like so and atlanta is beating them at their own game because like i said we talk about jalen grunson and how clutch he is all the time and cj mccollum is matching him clutch for clutch right now

[01:18:55] and and you know so so that's going to be a problem you know going forward in this series i think because cj mccollum is not the guy that necessarily has to score 30 to be impactful but he could just hit the shots that are necessary and then knows his spots right cat like that play call that they call for cj mccollum i think he probably hit if i had to if i can count off the

[01:19:20] top of my head i'm gonna say three three or four like little elbow jumpers that he hit when the knicks either clawed back and got the game close or after they took the lead you know on that last shot he just knows where his spots are i think cat allows you to like make him take a different shot that he doesn't want whereas we talk about yokich yokich is taking the shot that he wants

[01:19:48] whether you defend it and he misses it or not but he's not gonna take a running fall away three in the corner jalen brunson's another one of those guys that he wants to get to his spot but i think quinn snyder like that excellent job of just blitzing them with guys to the point where i think that's why mike brown switched up how he used him because i thought because i was watching i picked

[01:20:12] up the game probably in the third quarter and i'm like why does mcbry have the ball so much right and he would get his jalen brunson were like 12 seconds left in the shot clock but they were still blitzing and then you kick it to josh hart and he wouldn't make that you know well like mike brown and cat just seem to not have been on the same page all year you know uh which was one of

[01:20:37] the reasons why i didn't believe in the knicks in the first place but we'll see what happens next you know what i mean then of course tonight in about 25 minutes or so the spurs take the court without the one and only victor wimbing yama you know um and as i look at this um there's a couple of things

[01:20:58] first before i even get to that so owner tim dundon you know he just became the blazers owner about three weeks ago and people are officially and people are already talking about how cheap he is he didn't want to put t-shirts out you know because you know like usually that first home play yeah he canceled the t-shirts um there's rumors that they're going to try to go get yannis which doesn't match with the whole

[01:21:27] he being cheap thing but i like the blazers got to do some soul searching because after wimby went out the other night the spurs still almost won that game so i don't know if that was an adrenaline thing where you know it was it just happened and they just rolled with the punches and now tonight they're on the road we might see the blazers fans you know motor center going nuts and you know you

[01:21:56] gotta go from the standpoint of we gotta play a whole game without wimby now are like a lot of these guys like stefan castle dylan harper this is their first uh the cell this is their first road playoff game of their careers so if the blazers win tonight mr lodge it'd be a great road environment if they all

[01:22:18] had blazers t-shirts or red t-shirts or red section but but if the blazers win this tonight if the blazers win this series i mean this game tonight even though we assume when b is coming back what do you think that does to san antonio mentally if they go down to one i mean do you have the better players coming back game four if you go down to one tonight yes

[01:22:48] then i think you're fine i mean provided when he comes back yeah yeah if you if you have if you have like the nba the nba court the impact that just simply having better players has we can talk about football and all that all the time but it's like on an nba court if i have a guy that can score the bucket and then i also have guys that can defend your best score

[01:23:18] i'm probably in a good position if i have better rebounders than you i'm doing pretty well so if i'm the spurs even going down to one i feel like if i can roll out the best roster i can win game four so um in sports reports disordered fashion one of the things that you'll hear mr logical say at some

[01:23:43] point every year is the falcons got georgia right down the street why they'll never grab nobody the atlanta falcons with the 79th pick in the nfl draft drafts wide receiver zachariah branch university of georgia all right now you go early um you know he led the sec in receptions last year you know he's quick you know he came over from usc to

[01:24:13] georgia this past year and georgia was not disappointed so you know the five nine 177 he's definitely tiny yeah yeah so you know but he is a playmaker we'll have to see you know um you know because two can look him in the eye that might not necessarily be the best thing um lakers are up by four right now you know um almost mid fourth quarter but yeah um i'm interested in this game tonight we'll

[01:24:40] see what happens but mr logical from one injury to another jade up hamstring injury another guy who's had a long year you know he had the wrist surgery in the off season you know started the season late this year only played 33 games total in the regular season here we are in the playoffs luckily they're

[01:25:04] playing the phoenix suns you know devin booker's out here getting fined by the refs you know uh or by their league listen i'm not a conspiracy i think the rest lean swords but i don't like when i don't like referees who behave as if every call that they make is 100 correct

[01:25:31] simply because they're wearing a different color shirt than everybody else i think they i think phoenix loses that game no matter what i don't think they have the fire power to contend with okc i am i'm sick of the sga antics okay because i've always been short i played basketball for

[01:25:54] fun and i'm like listen if you hit me but i still get the layup off i'd make or miss me go back up the court i'm not i've never done this on a basketball court so i i can't stand when the nba players do that like just but the refs bail them out the refs call like i remember a game my son was a freshman he's

[01:26:21] playing his freshman team and the tip happens and the team the other team has the ball they're setting the screen like right in front of me i'm like i'm more like the left side so i'm like they're setting the screen in front of me and our kid's trying to fight through the screen he has his arm in there fighting through the screen they play eight minute quarters this was 7 52 i remember it is on the clock

[01:26:47] he called that foul i'm like so you're calling a touch foul as a freshman is trying to fight through a screen before the pass i'm like we in for a long day they called 60 fouls that game 60 they it was probably like 11 kids on each team i think six filed out four for their team

[01:27:13] two for ours and every guy on the floor had at least four files and they get five files it's like get out of the way ref and i and that's the problem that i have with the way that sga plays is that the rest are going to call the dumb ticky tack files especially on the role players and then anybody guarding a star player gets the file and then booker try to save the ball from out of bounds they call the tech the shot that he made off the bank shot he didn't touch caruso

[01:27:44] and it was a full-on nba form perfect form jump shot bank shot and they reviewed it didn't offer an explanation and just checked like yo ball up and booker's like yo because i was waiting on it too i was like because i'm looking at i think i was watching on mute so i was doing something else i i don't think i had the volume up but i had it on my tv i feel like i was cooking so i was in the kitchen so i went to the living room i'm standing watching

[01:28:11] the tv and i saw the play i'm like that's nothing i go back to prepping the food and i turn back around and booker's chasing the rest of the ref up the court like yo what's up what's up what's up and then sga does the same arm swing thing and gets a call literally the next possession and then he looked at the ref like yo what is that i just think that they the the impact they have on a game i don't know how much to be regular well that's why that's why i told you the nba is the one sport

[01:28:41] that fans like cheating you know like most other fans like if you're watching the nfl and there's a bad pass interference call we lose our minds you know if if you watch baseball and there's a strike that got called a ball we lose our minds in the nba we'd be like superstar calls i hate it i hate the star calls baseball by the way yeah we we talk about superstar calls like i gotta guard

[01:29:05] you know lebron james michael jordan kobe bryant steph curry well maybe not steph curry he doesn't get those calls kevin durant you know whoever and it's like grabbing him you know you gotta grab him he might not get the call but you know depends on your status yeah steph they be beating steph up but but but like but like these bigger guys you know they get these calls and the nba is the one sport where fans go i don't have a problem with superstar calls until it happens to your team or until it happens to you

[01:29:35] so devin booker you know said if he was getting those calls he wouldn't have a problem with it but sga gets these calls because he's the mvp you know he's he's so like but he does but he really does devin booker was talking about the call and he said he was like i know i haven't won a championship in this league because i think he understands that the hierarchy yeah he's like i've been in here 11 years the plays against caruso because like caruso say call for the tech

[01:30:04] yeah yeah that was 2015 when they were 38 and lost that game to wisconsin wow yeah so you he was like caruso called for the tech when he was trying to save the ball and they called the tech the the jump shot was a bad call i know and he said he was gonna get fined and i get it he was like yo i'm gonna get and he did know it and he did and and i'm pretty sure he

[01:30:32] doesn't mind like one of his 11 impala chevy impalas cost way more than whatever fine he got um but i agree man like like i said i'm not even like that i'm not a good basketball player at all but i'm like yo i can play through contact and i think if the refs in the nba allow if i think if

[01:30:56] the nba sat down with the players and say yo you know these playoff calls that you guys normally got because we talked about with lebron and he said like hey we know like they let us be a little bit more physical in the uh in the playoffs carry that throughout the year if you get slapped on the arm and you'll end up with the right hand then it's good good game so hold up random question

[01:31:25] so lebron has 95 playoff games i saw that okay okay so you remember you remember it was it was 25 10 and five it was it was 20 it was 2010 and five he has 95 do you remember who was second i didn't i saw it and i didn't look to see who it was it was jokic with 50 third is larry bird with 40.

[01:31:56] oh we got a tie game now okay all right so uh travel they just traveled on that so um so kevin durant doesn't want to just ball after all yo i'm because he played pretty good in that game the other night i just think it's weird that because i think about all the injuries that you hear about all the guys playing through in all the sports you know cal ripkin playing 2000 plus straight

[01:32:25] games at 2192 i think it was ac green playing his whole career i think mckell bridges played like 83 games one year because he got traded um it's just how bad is the injury to where

[01:32:43] you're not playing game three down 2-0 at home like uh-huh like how bad is like do you need surgery like what do you need to where you can't play game three in the playoffs when you're down too well on top of the fact you didn't play game one like if you don't play game one and two

[01:33:09] and compensated for the knee injury and then hurt the ankle now the knee and ankle are are in the full effect but i'm like i don't know i just don't know what keeps you out in that scenario and but considering what other guys play through i'm not talking about his pain threshold just the fact that we've seen guys play through getting shots getting you know pause back shots getting like

[01:33:35] shoulder harnesses and everything else to get on the court it's like you didn't play game one because of a knee now you're not playing game three because of an ankle your team clearly needs you because you're down too low you know how do you not how do you not just come out and play anyway yeah and it was 21 31 that broke the record for cal ripkin he finished at 26 32 for the streak um yeah so you know

[01:34:04] lebron hasn't had to do too much you know um obviously he's still been the cog that's kept everything going but he hasn't had to put on the cape and go 38 8 and 8 or something to that effect so you know so that's great you know even right now he's the leading scorer in the game but he's only taking 12 shots so you know he's 7 of 12 with 22 points reed shepherd my guy on the other hand

[01:34:32] just knocked down the three yeah he just knocked down the three or actually lebron's up to eight to four eight for 14 now uh reed shepherd just hit the three he's five for 17 three of 11 from three you know what i mean that's your game right there if he just hits a few more shots you know tarry easton's two two for eight you know uh deandre eight and only three shots so you know

[01:34:57] i don't know if he's been playing that much uh looks like he only played 27 minutes so you know we'll see but ruey come through tonight four for seven from three so far one point game on my screen with about 459 left carolina panthers with the 83rd selection in the nfl draft wide receiver chris brazil the second from the university of tennessee we know that's our big five guy that we talked about

[01:35:24] about laugh about when it comes to atlanta took a five foot eight guy oh now it's five eight it was five seven it was five nine a few minutes ago now it's five eight 177 jacoby lane from usc goes next six four 200 and then chris pezzel from tennessee's six four 198 there you go i got a little quarterback

[01:35:51] maybe i give him a big target hey well hey at least uh for the most part you don't have to worry about the wind you know he doesn't got to go to buffalo he doesn't have to go to new england we have man with some good games you have the tampa bay game should be warm saints in the dome saints in the dome even though it's the house of horrors um carolina might be one

[01:36:17] depends on when you get that game it might be a little chilly but north carolina is not notoriously known for being sub 40 yeah when i got there in 19 or no 2000 when i got there in 2000 in goldsboro you know there was ice everywhere and they said that was like the first major storm since 1982 and you know what i mean so like now charlotte's about three hours away but you know um so the

[01:36:45] sixers got one but they couldn't get two um what's going on in this series mr logical there's no mb boston should be running away with this thing we talked about how you can't trust them you know to to sweep or whatever the case may be great defense okay okay like if you think about it like i don't think they play great defense okay i think they play great i think they bother you

[01:37:13] offensively because they can knock down threes and everybody's willing to shoot the three so the best but i don't think there's a good offense yeah i didn't just have a good offense like when i sent the text in the group tonight saying like hey i think boston's gonna lose this game because i just watched flicicic i think jalen brown missed one and i believe derrick white had missed like two or three

[01:37:39] threes so by my count i think they had missed like three or four in a row maybe even four out of five and i was like listen if the three don't fall they gonna lose and then all of a sudden they uh i look up and they're 10 for 21 for three and they were up like 38 something i was like i just went downstairs to warm up some boston and the whole game had changed so yeah after jalen brown attacked all

[01:38:09] george's nuts you know that's just a standard move that's it i know he just he's just so big like he had his arm out like i think if you just kept the shoulder hey and you know what did they go i know it's fun and easy to bang on paul george and you know to play off p and all the names and all that but paul george still playing some good defense out here you know uh bj edge come um you know is coming

[01:38:38] out here looking like d wade reincarnated at times you know he had 30 and 10 the other night but of course with a rookie you know you got to come back down to earth at some point you can't do that consistently so tonight was that night um maxi has grown as a basketball player like he's a problem to deal with so i'm not so i picked i think i picked boston in six because i gave them

[01:39:02] the i gave philly games because boston's gonna go yeah for 32 from three yeah boston's gonna go cold and then i was figuring they would get him beat back and he might be good enough for them to get one so you know but i'm almost at the point where if him bead was there this might be two one the other way you know because because because philly the offense doesn't flow the same when the bees are there

[01:39:29] i know but his presence on the other end i think you know what i mean like at least down low deters i don't think vj gets 30 points in game two if mb's on the floor that's probably more than likely true but but you know but mb could get 40 any night though you know what i mean he is a threat for that but he is he a threat defensively 80 feet from the hoop no not that far out and that's where i think

[01:39:58] missoula would have taken advantage of not only he's coming off just perpetually injured coming off of surgery coming and on top of the fact that he's primarily an offensive threat where you can i mean he's seven two i think he's just like seven two so you're probably not running into your primary

[01:40:24] defenders at him you're probably trying to get a big on a big and make him work but in that same sense boston's biggest setting screens 25 feet from the hoop so are you switching with him b switching and bead on the tatum is that a defensive matchup you want like i say you talk about nick nerds you

[01:40:46] think chris finch was kind of like the the architect behind what he does i mean look at it you know minnesota what last two western conference finals you know they uh they're up to one on denver right now you know i think call anthony town still on minnesota i think they are i think they probably would have pushed through to one of these finals because i think you what you have with with with

[01:41:15] ant is that alpha fighter kind of mentality that kind of gets you through the hoop would you ever be down with the nba going one through 16 you know versus actually doing that go east west because one through 16 doesn't it doesn't guarantee you like a better matchup it it gives you a little bit

[01:41:41] maybe a little mystery because you might get a you know say i don't know what the numbers are boston minnesota or something you might you know that like you might get houston you might get like houston atlanta so you know or houston the knicks or something like that which is cool but i like the east west i like that's the standard that you that you have all the records based off all off of the finals mvps the championships

[01:42:11] coach of the year you know all the awards that are that encapsulate the history of nba is based off this east west thing leave it because it's not as if the fans are going to treat it differently right they're still going to watch at the same rate no one's gonna be like oh it's one through 16 now mm-hmm so um

[01:42:38] orlando came out took game one and then detroit blitzed them in game two so we got game three tomorrow you know uh have you seen anything that makes you think that detroit can be in danger no because game one literally every every tough shot that orlando had to take they made they started the fourth quarter i think franz wagner i think he had like three

[01:43:08] i think he hit all three of his shots before like the first time i don't remember oh canard and call the trip you know um so he hit he had all those even when he had foul shooting a one-handed runner going to the left with his right hand from the free throw line that went in

[01:43:31] i think desmond bain hit like a tough layup uh early in the game jaylen suggs hit like a tough layup though like they hit every tough shot that normally would have rimmed out in game one every time detroit battle back tied the game up got it within one they would just run off seven seven in a row and of that seven four of them are very tough

[01:43:58] you know so what happened in game two is probably more likely yeah i think that um if you can get the best of van caro and wagner i think that detroit doesn't have anything that can match up to that as far as a duo goes like obviously k cunningham's the best player on the court

[01:44:26] but uh but i don't know if i don't know if they have that second guy that could help him go tit for tat with them if you will and then i think the rim they do and desmond bain yeah it doesn't bain's the key like when he's hitting shots when he's hitting shots it makes orlando a little bit more formidable but i just don't know if he can do it consistently enough that like i said you know i think they get one more i do think they get one more though

[01:44:55] so they're going game three in orlando tomorrow i believe it is tomorrow yeah get portland san antonio tonight that should be tipping off any minute now yeah it tips off at 30 so it should be starting now you know one of those mr logical luckily i ain't got to go to work tomorrow specials well i already got two games my problem was game one will be at eight and then game two will start at

[01:45:22] 10 30 yeah uh hold on the runs out on the floor you're tripping oh okay he just waited to the last possible second uh yeah so the third game starting at 10 30 i'm good with are you seeing the whole boston philly game um we're 49.6 seconds left in the houston l.a game houston up four so there you go cleveland brown's got two linemen in this draft now so all those people that were talking about

[01:45:52] protect the quarterback mr logical there you go you know that's the foundation terrible and then he got dumped on that's the that's the you know and then finally you know it's amazing how when you watch sports or even you know mostly basketball how teams look on the road and then they go home jurassic park

[01:46:18] win by 22 the raptor said we're not done just yet now i remember after game one brandon ingram said the quiet part out loud you know he was like yo coach trying to use me as a screener out here you know like that ain't gonna help us win you know he had only took nine shots or something along those

[01:46:39] lines and um there you have it you know toronto back at home jurassic park we asked a series potentially scotty barnes the the nba didn't care about their series because it's like they already played three games like yeah go ahead get it started we don't care about this series at all

[01:47:04] you know like if there's four games in cleveland and toronto were there any games if nobody saw them exactly so yeah tomorrow we got detroit orlando starting things off at one o'clock eastern followed by okc and phoenix followed by hopefully the hawks going up 3-1 and then you got denver and minnesota

[01:47:30] at 8 30 eastern tomorrow night then sunday cleveland toronto spurs blazers sixers celtics and then lakers rockets is the nightcap so yeah i saw a lot of heat about shingoon running like they run like he got titties uh he's doing all right tonight and lebron just gave him a little bs pass and then let him dunk on him

[01:47:59] all right last thing before we get out of here mr logical the milwaukee bucks have a new head coach his name is taylor jenkins i don't know why memphis got rid of him unless job and rat really has that much pool so i think that tomas the coach that they have now he's one of these new innovative analytics

[01:48:28] european style basketball guys john murray hasn't had a highlight he hasn't had a highlight since they fired him no he ain't been on the court you know what i mean but uh and he's probably played his last game oh actually let's stay here for a second um so adam silver came out and said that he wants the

[01:48:51] grizzlies to play a couple of games in nashville every year yo he is he's definitely a players commissioner i'll give him that and the owners don't really give a shit because they just they're getting paid so much money like hand over right right it's and that's gonna bring up more money than memphis anyway

[01:49:17] nash will bring him more money you'll turn titans fans into uh but did you hear his actual statement of why he wanted the grizzlies somebody hit a three huh don't say nothing but uh uh oh yeah i sound like an eagle look at the replay it is nonsense i can only imagine that

[01:49:45] lebron i can only imagine that it's not even it's anybody if tyree smacks he would have done what just happened i would react to the same way all right well i'll get it here in a second uh uh my bad but did you prime just go to prime but but did you hear well i'm on my phone because i'm watching the draft on the tv uh but did you did you hear uh the reason that he said that he wanted

[01:50:10] uh the mephis grizzlies to play games in nashville is it a good reason a generic one i'm gonna try to guess it's a generic reason you know the nba is a global brand and we want to make sure that we give every fan the opportunity to see an nba game is that about is that close no ah his his his reasoning was

[01:50:40] so we can draw in more fans and make the grizzlies the team of tennessee where the fuck is memphis where the fuck is memphis that's the same thing but where the fuck is memphis my masters of communication and public relations is coming through i'm saying i'm eight classes deep uh yeah bro yeah where the fuck is memphis

[01:51:06] man they don't care about memphis um so this was my thought right um i made a short about this are you yeah i saw it already um you know say it didn't make me do all that shit you was doing but yo that's a crazy scenario to play like it is but i don't know about all that oh come really i don't know i would have done the same thing if derrick white done it but uh

[01:51:31] the spiel well derrick right derrick white only shoots 32.7 from three so he wasn't going to do that um no but but like so so my thought was growing up in baltimore um i was born well after the bullets went to dc but there was an agreement in place that the bullets would play four games a year at the baltimore arena it made sense because they used to be in

[01:52:01] baltimore so it's like hey we took this team away from y'all we moved about 45 minutes away we still going to let you be a bullets fan or whatever the case may be now when i thought about this scenario because the grizzlies have never been in nashville so you're just trying to make a team play a game somewhere just because so then i said well i don't see the sacramento kings playing games in

[01:52:27] fresno you know i don't see cleveland cavaliers playing games in cincinnati to show that they're ohio's team i think that probably the most comparable piece like i don't see games in cincinnati i don't i don't i don't i don't see you know saying the nets still playing games in jersey that yeah because the prudential center is still here so they could easily roll they could easily

[01:52:55] slide a basketball court out there and do like a whole nicks a whole nets reunion old jerseys they could do that i think so again so again i ask what the hell is adam silver talking about he has to like i said working in this on this degree program you know communication and public relations

[01:53:19] multiple people drafted up that statement it got vetted by a few people and what you want to be as direct you want to address it but you also want to be kind of like vague the problem is adding the line like team of tennessee that was probably a problem i think they probably could have gone with you know the nba is always looking for expansion and opportunities to get nba fans in different

[01:53:49] cities no matter where they are we'll always welcome that yeah but i i don't know like i just think that like i said we're slow burning this thing you know with the end game being the grizzlies going to nashville i think that's your if you're a professional team that makes a lot of sense

[01:54:14] simply because that is the epicenter of tourism for that state it's the epicenter of popularity country music there's a football team there there's a hockey team there so naturally having a basketball team there makes a soccer team now soccer if you think about philadelphia philadelphia like when i tell you the intersection has the baseball stadium on the left football stadium on the right

[01:54:43] and across the street from there is the wells fargo center like everything's literally right there if the basketball team played in you know lancaster like this is weird like why is the why are the pennsylvania sixers way out in the middle of the state and it's you know playing games when we have

[01:55:07] every other team right here in philly so like i said the philadelphia union soccer team they're also in philly so the tourism is philly so why not have the other professional basketball team there it might come off you know maybe it would have been better better received if an ownership group presented it

[01:55:32] and it could be viewed as strictly financially selfish but because it got presented by players it's just it it it comes off as a bit disingenuous but i think an nba uh executive or like anyone who's

[01:55:51] paying for a team they would do the same thing like dc i love dc but if they call if they play games in richmond and call themselves the dc whatever you like man it's richmond's far as shit from dc like just go i mean it's not nashville and memphis are close i mean like within an hour at least but but i'm saying as far as like which city is gonna attract more people for other reasons besides just

[01:56:21] the sport just the sport just to get the tourism and then yeah why are you going if you're a a person who does not want to go to tennessee but someone's like yo we should do a boys trip like check it out we're gonna take sports reports order on the road let's go see a football game or let's go see a game are we going to memphis grizzlies versus the india indiana basers or we

[01:56:50] gonna go the tennessee titans versus indianapolis colts in nashville like we have we're gonna be now we're gonna have to go um i don't know man um we're even if neither one of us are fans of the the titans or the colts but if we were picking a place to go in october we're gonna go nashville

[01:57:20] you know titans versus colts versus grizzlies versus pacers well we would go to nashville because soon as i say hey let's go see the pacers let's go see tyrese halliburton and cam boozer you would say my daddy saw a drive by we're not going to memphis um you know unfortunate news it sounds like uh yoga

[01:57:46] it sounds like in the great state of new jersey um the one and only launch taylor has been admitted with a medical emergency so you know prayers up there hopefully everything gets cleared up there with lt um you know we're getting old man i didn't realize he was 67 i mean it makes sense that he's 67 i just never thought about it yeah i just never thought about the high school my pops he was a sophomore

[01:58:11] my pops is a c yeah yeah probably the best football player in north carolina history definitely best players in giants history probably yeah so might be the best player nfl history yeah yeah i think i think he literally truly changed how football was kind of viewed i think he changed that element of it because like i don't think a guy was moving like that

[01:58:40] yo i swear i love and hate at the same time how lebron makes every whistle life or death like like he like he literally like he's notorious for it too i love like i said i love lebron but he is notorious for like what shay's doing is like a byproduct of like oh he's right about those guys introduce yeah now i remember when they were playing the pacers in the playoffs and he got

[01:59:10] mad at a call and he ran to the whole other end of the court i hate how refs can give you text for that too i don't know i think running to the end of the other court is the definition of showing me up i get it my thing is like i was thinking about this for the show you knew it's the old school get off my chest yeah so i was thinking about the devin books i know we should bring that back

[01:59:37] it needs to be holy he grabbed the shit i shouldn't lose arm um there needs to be like a physical it needs to be a physical thing that allows you to call a tech on the player because i watched jb bickerstaff get mad at a call in game one he stood side by side with the ref and said whatever the call was was bullshit multiple times i read his lips he said

[02:00:07] bullshit four or five maybe six times right but that doesn't get you a tech but if rui hachimura gets fouled and looks at the reference says that's bullshit it's a tech so it's like either you need to make it a physical rule like yo he approached me aggressively which is like a legal thing like you like that's assault like if someone approaches you aggressively that's technically assault batteries when they hit you assault is like the threat yeah people think assault battery needs you hit that person like the battery is the hit part

[02:00:39] um so it needs to be you filed the person hard you hit them hard you push them in the back you hit something like it has to be something that you can mark down as an actual tangible rule because jason tatum slapped the ball one time pissed off at himself and got a tech right that's nothing to do with the referee he was mad at himself for like not getting the rebound it went

[02:01:03] out of bounds but he got a tech for it because it just sounded the ref or the uh the ref felt a certain type of way so i don't think feelings should be allowed yeah don't bring feelings that's what we say all the time you know sad but on that note we shepherd can't guard you boom but on that note ladies

[02:01:27] and gentlemen we will be back tuesday with reaction to the final draft you know we'll have all the picks at that time get to talk about some winners losers hopefully the nuggets will be back you know split at least you know on the way to game five you know and we'll have some great playoff basketball hopefully uh we get a good game in portland tonight you know with no win banyama but he is

[02:01:53] the one and only world renowned world famous cool calm and collected born in texas raised in va representing everything new jerusalem you saw how quick he pointed out that prudential is still there he is mr logical don't bring feelings to a fat fight don't do it referees stop cheating then of course down here in the alamo it's your unorthodox statistician going left so much you thought

[02:02:20] i was southpaw ronda rousey and gina carano coming up and i'm here for it because i've been seeing those press conferences in gina i go by the name of two five this is sports reports resorted we love y'all thank you for joining us thank you for your support boom have a great weekend enjoy the draft enjoy some playoffs football will be back before you know it and by the way in case you didn't know there's some
