[00:00:07] Yes, you are now listening to the sounds of Sports Reports As Ordered
[00:00:14] And it's a little bit like this, like that, I'm gonna move along
[00:00:20] And if you notice here on the screen, you will learn that 2-5 loves catfish more than fried chicken
[00:00:28] I got with me the one and only, the world renowned, even killed
[00:00:34] Born in Texas, raised in VA, representing New Jerusalem, he wants you to stop being ignorant
[00:00:39] And acknowledge the fact that the Statue of Liberty is IN NEW JERSEY
[00:00:45] He is, Mr. Logical
[00:00:47] And I am your unorthodox statistician ready to rock and roll
[00:00:53] Going left so much you thought I was southpaw
[00:00:55] I go by the name of 2-5, as I said earlier
[00:00:58] We are Sports Reports As Ordered
[00:01:00] Like, review, subscribe, share, rate, do all the free things
[00:01:04] Do all the good things
[00:01:09] And let's get started
[00:01:13] So Mr. Logical
[00:01:16] I heard through the grapevine
[00:01:17] You know what I'm saying that
[00:01:21] Hey, what up Matt?
[00:01:24] Your favorite player
[00:01:26] What up? Welcome, welcome
[00:01:27] What's going on Mr. Apostle?
[00:01:30] Way back to the dorms, Spain dollar
[00:01:35] You know, I heard through the grapevine
[00:01:37] That your favorite player
[00:01:41] Decided to take some time off
[00:01:43] Now, before we go any further
[00:01:45] Hopefully there's nothing serious going on
[00:01:47] Hopefully, you know, he's just an old man that needs a couple of days of rest
[00:01:51] Or something along those lines
[00:01:52] Hopefully there's nothing going on with his family or health-wise or anything like that
[00:01:56] Now, that's out the way
[00:01:58] I meant every single word of it, but the show must go on
[00:02:01] So, this is just an old ass dude that need a break
[00:02:04] And they talking about like
[00:02:06] Oh, if he wants to trade
[00:02:08] We ain't saying that we want to trade him
[00:02:12] But we ain't going to stop it if he comes to us
[00:02:19] Is he having a fit?
[00:02:20] Last night I had a conversation
[00:02:21] I had a conversation with my pops last night
[00:02:24] About the difference between a team having a bad year
[00:02:27] And it's a flat out dysfunctional organization
[00:02:30] It was more of a reference to the NFL draft
[00:02:33] But the Lakers fit into that dysfunctional poorly run organization
[00:02:38] They are a byproduct solely of location
[00:02:41] And one superstar that's kind of carried the bantle for them
[00:02:46] For 40 years
[00:02:47] And that's magic
[00:02:49] Magic coming there
[00:02:50] Larry Bird going to the blue collar white community in Boston
[00:02:54] The flashy 6'9 point guard from Michigan State
[00:03:00] Going to L.A.
[00:03:04] Has saved them
[00:03:05] Jerry Bust
[00:03:06] Everyone has a show or whatever
[00:03:08] But that saved them
[00:03:09] That got them the flair
[00:03:10] That got them the show time
[00:03:12] They got them Tinseltown
[00:03:13] They got them stars on the sideline
[00:03:16] Which then
[00:03:17] That wave rode out
[00:03:18] Then it got them Kobe
[00:03:20] And Shaq
[00:03:21] That was a wave for a while
[00:03:23] They had Kobe all the way up until
[00:03:24] 2016
[00:03:26] And then LeBron came after that
[00:03:29] They can thank magic for the success
[00:03:32] Nothing
[00:03:34] Internally
[00:03:34] From management
[00:03:36] Has made sense
[00:03:37] Other than hiring Phil Jackson
[00:03:41] To get you your five chips with Kobe
[00:03:43] And Genie Bust being in Playboy
[00:03:47] Like and that's the problem
[00:03:48] So LeBron came there because of magic
[00:03:51] And then magic left in the 80th game
[00:03:53] Had a little impromptu press conference in the hallway
[00:03:58] They got the chip in 2020
[00:04:00] And then they just been making bad move after bad move after bad move
[00:04:04] With a guy who was like
[00:04:05] I'm locked in I want to stay here
[00:04:08] And they kept making bad move after bad move after bad move
[00:04:13] And that's on them
[00:04:15] So now you got this guy who was like I want to play 82 games
[00:04:18] And we hear LeBron on the podcast with JJ Redick over the summer
[00:04:22] Talk about, you know, players intelligence and guys not being able to flip plays
[00:04:27] And how important that is to him
[00:04:29] I think they might have a lot of players that come through that building
[00:04:33] That don't operate
[00:04:35] And he's probably tough to be a teammate of
[00:04:38] But you got to keep in mind he's been elite
[00:04:42] For 25 years
[00:04:44] He's been elite since 15
[00:04:48] Like 15 year old LeBron was playing against 90s pros and winning
[00:04:54] So this guy has been upper echelon elite for 25 years
[00:04:58] Yeah, that's why he got to go
[00:04:59] You got 25 year old players on the team that don't understand that
[00:05:03] That's why he got to go
[00:05:06] He probably
[00:05:07] I think if he
[00:05:09] Didn't look and play as well as he did in the Olympics
[00:05:13] I believe you probably like you know what this might be my last year
[00:05:16] And what scale has that taken him because he hasn't looked good this year
[00:05:20] I mean you getting 23
[00:05:22] On 50% shooting
[00:05:25] 8 rebounds and 9 assists
[00:05:27] 23 and a half 8 and 8
[00:05:29] Yeah, that 23 and a half is still down from last year
[00:05:33] The you know the shooting percentage is down from last year
[00:05:36] The 3 point percentage is down by 6 points
[00:05:39] You know what I mean?
[00:05:40] Those legs are getting tired man
[00:05:41] And look, you know what I'm saying?
[00:05:43] Shout out to Bronny
[00:05:44] You know what I'm saying?
[00:05:45] With the 30 points last night
[00:05:48] And you know what I'm saying?
[00:05:49] Chris B is in the building
[00:05:50] The original sports reports is ordered fan
[00:05:52] Him and Aloe Lani
[00:05:54] But you know but I'm just saying like at the end of the day
[00:05:57] Look, I hope nothing's going on
[00:06:00] But it is kind of coincidental that he needs a break as the trade talk starts
[00:06:07] You know, he needs a break when they're in the middle of going 3 and 7 in their last 10 games
[00:06:14] And J.J. Redick said it the best, right?
[00:06:17] He said, you know, quote
[00:06:18] I mean paraphrasing
[00:06:19] You know, hey, LeBron playing 82 games might not be the best thing for us
[00:06:25] Absolutely correct
[00:06:26] He took that 2 week break
[00:06:28] I believe it was 2018
[00:06:32] It was one of those years he took like a 2 week break
[00:06:34] Like it might have been a championship year or one of his
[00:06:37] Like I think 2018 is probably like
[00:06:39] I think probably one of his most outstanding
[00:06:43] Playoff runs that I could think of
[00:06:44] That season then that playoff run
[00:06:46] It might be his best one
[00:06:49] Yeah, that's better than a championship run
[00:06:51] So I think either the championship year or the 2018 year
[00:06:55] He took like that 2 week break
[00:06:57] He was wearing like the little back brace
[00:06:59] And every time he's sitting on the bench
[00:07:00] But then he was gone for a couple of weeks
[00:07:03] Sometimes I think you just might need to take that time off
[00:07:05] And let people struggle
[00:07:07] Let people grind and figure it out
[00:07:09] I saw a clip of Jalen Brown talking about
[00:07:14] You know, needing the role
[00:07:16] Like the role players on the team late in the season
[00:07:18] So certain games throughout the year
[00:07:20] Like he used, this was a September interview
[00:07:24] But he used a game like Detroit
[00:07:25] He was like a game against Detroit for instance
[00:07:27] We might go through Payton that game
[00:07:30] And let him go for 30
[00:07:32] Just so we know later in the season
[00:07:33] He has the confidence to put the shots up
[00:07:36] And know that we rely on him
[00:07:37] And then they played Detroit
[00:07:39] He went for 27 and they went through him
[00:07:41] Couldn't they get that confidence with LeBron on the floor?
[00:07:47] It's probably tough
[00:07:48] Because it's probably a quick yank
[00:07:51] But that's what I'm saying
[00:07:53] But that's what I'm saying
[00:07:53] So like for me, this is just 2-5 speaking
[00:07:56] You know, if you gotta be gone
[00:08:00] For me to have that moment
[00:08:03] Then what's the point?
[00:08:05] Because you're gonna be here when that moment comes later
[00:08:09] I don't have the chemistry with you
[00:08:11] To do that
[00:08:12] Austin Reeves probably wouldn't get the contract he has with the Lakers
[00:08:17] With any other team
[00:08:19] I don't think they would utilize him the way the Lakers allowed him to play
[00:08:22] I will have you know that the Spurs offered him more than the Lakers did
[00:08:26] Yeah, but the Spurs also don't pass the ball to a 7'5 guy
[00:08:30] On a regular basis for 2 years
[00:08:34] So, I'm just throwing it out there
[00:08:36] The rim's 10 feet
[00:08:37] Hey, I'm just trying to bring facts to a fact fight, okay?
[00:08:40] His arms are 11 feet long
[00:08:42] They should throw him the ball
[00:08:44] But yeah, like, you know, so
[00:08:46] You...
[00:08:48] And when he...
[00:08:50] Okay, remember that time they did early season when he like yanked
[00:08:53] When JJ yanked the game and he said in a press conference
[00:08:55] Guys going back to old bad habits
[00:08:59] The Lakers painted themselves into a corner with this team
[00:09:03] So whatever LeBron was feeling from last year
[00:09:07] It's what's going on now
[00:09:08] It's like...
[00:09:09] You put in a 2 week notice of the job
[00:09:12] And they come off you 10%, 20% more pay
[00:09:17] And you take...
[00:09:18] You rescind your 2 week notice and you keep the job
[00:09:20] And then a year later you're like, God damn
[00:09:23] This is the same shit
[00:09:24] It's like, that's what you're in
[00:09:25] Because you kept the money
[00:09:28] You took the money
[00:09:29] You stayed in the place that had you unhappy before
[00:09:34] And they didn't make any other changes other than altering your money
[00:09:38] Well, and that's why people say that he went to LA for more than basketball reasons
[00:09:42] So, you know, that's kind of played out to some degree
[00:09:46] Because we've seen LeBron be unhappy in the past
[00:09:50] And be vocal about it
[00:09:52] Be demonstrative about it
[00:09:53] You know, whereas like now he's just kind of putting up with it
[00:09:57] Because of where it is
[00:09:59] I think he realizes that this organization is going to do shit
[00:10:04] Kyrie...
[00:10:04] Kyrie was available for pennies on the dollar
[00:10:08] And they didn't pull the trigger
[00:10:10] Well, remember...
[00:10:13] They said...
[00:10:14] They said...
[00:10:15] They weren't going to deal with the Lakers
[00:10:17] I don't believe that to be true
[00:10:20] Because Brooklyn's made some awful...
[00:10:22] Brooklyn's made some awful moves
[00:10:24] Well, no...
[00:10:25] It's not like they made a bunch of great moves since then
[00:10:27] No, absolutely
[00:10:27] But the reason that...
[00:10:28] They didn't have the intellectual leverage to do it
[00:10:31] The problem was the Lakers...
[00:10:32] The Lakers don't have a guy like Pat Riley
[00:10:34] That can really make things happen
[00:10:36] Right, the shrewd operator
[00:10:38] They don't have a guy that's respected outside of that organization
[00:10:42] Well, the reason that I say that though
[00:10:44] Is because you've got to remember
[00:10:45] Kyrie was coming off of the heels
[00:10:47] Of the whole anti-Semitic thing
[00:10:51] And that's why I said he was available for pennies on the dollar
[00:10:52] No, I know, I know
[00:10:53] But what I'm saying though
[00:10:55] I think that Brooklyn...
[00:10:56] And this is bad business
[00:10:58] But I think they took a stance of
[00:11:00] But we can't give him what he wants
[00:11:02] He wants to go to LA
[00:11:04] He wants to play with LeBron
[00:11:06] We're not dealing with him
[00:11:07] They sent him to a more successful team
[00:11:11] Yeah, but they didn't know Dallas was going to go to the finals
[00:11:13] You knew Luka was more...
[00:11:15] You knew Luka was more likely to carry his team further
[00:11:18] Than anything that was going to come out of the Lakers
[00:11:20] You watch the Lakers
[00:11:21] If you're in Brooklyn
[00:11:22] And you're a basketball executive at Brooklyn
[00:11:24] You know that...
[00:11:25] What team is more desperate to get this guy on my team?
[00:11:29] Fuck how I feel
[00:11:30] Fuck my feelings
[00:11:31] Cause I put Kyrie on the Lakers with AD and Braun
[00:11:34] They weren't going to make the finals?
[00:11:36] I don't know
[00:11:37] But I know that I would have taken Austin Rees
[00:11:40] I would have taken probably D-Lo
[00:11:41] I would have taken two first round picks
[00:11:43] And I would have taken Cash
[00:11:44] You ain't taken no damn D-Lo
[00:11:46] Whatever you got
[00:11:47] Like you can take your contract with him somewhere
[00:11:49] But like...
[00:11:49] Give me Rooney!
[00:11:51] I would...
[00:11:52] Yeah, that's what I'm saying
[00:11:54] Like...
[00:11:55] Brooklyn was...
[00:11:55] That was probably their only...
[00:11:57] Like I said
[00:11:59] Any...
[00:11:59] The art of good business realizes that
[00:12:01] You're not going to get everything you want
[00:12:04] But the Lakers are somewhat desperate
[00:12:06] I think they would have compromised
[00:12:08] They would have bent a little bit more
[00:12:10] It would have been more 60-40 in that deal
[00:12:13] Or 68-32
[00:12:15] In that deal
[00:12:16] If Brooklyn really wanted to bend it that way
[00:12:19] Just because...
[00:12:20] The Lakers are desperate
[00:12:21] Because they...
[00:12:22] Thinking you get Kyrie
[00:12:24] Get you to the finals
[00:12:25] That's perfect for Brooklyn
[00:12:27] If I'm Brooklyn
[00:12:28] That's perfect for me
[00:12:29] From a negotiating standpoint
[00:12:32] Because you believe my guy
[00:12:33] Is the key piece you need
[00:12:36] I don't think that
[00:12:38] And I don't want him here
[00:12:39] Because of all the distractions
[00:12:40] So it's a perfect position for me
[00:12:43] But instead they sent him to Dallas
[00:12:44] They had a good playoff run the year before
[00:12:46] And then he went to the finals last year
[00:12:48] So it wasn't like they did anything
[00:12:49] To kind of hinder Kyrie
[00:12:51] It's like...
[00:12:52] You arrogantly
[00:12:54] Gave up...
[00:12:56] A player
[00:12:56] And didn't get much in return
[00:12:58] And now you're still scrambling
[00:12:59] You're still...
[00:12:59] You're making trades with the Knicks
[00:13:02] Like...
[00:13:03] They're trying to get up in these
[00:13:04] Cooper flag tweak states, man
[00:13:06] Yeah, so like...
[00:13:08] With LeBron...
[00:13:08] I think once that didn't happen
[00:13:11] It was like...
[00:13:12] Yo, so...
[00:13:12] I'm just out here
[00:13:13] Just selling tickets for y'all
[00:13:18] So...
[00:13:18] I'm done
[00:13:19] Because like I said...
[00:13:20] You know, the difference between
[00:13:21] Having bad years
[00:13:22] And being dysfunctional
[00:13:23] I think they're dysfunctional
[00:13:25] When they...
[00:13:25] When they offered Ty Lue three years
[00:13:27] 18 million
[00:13:27] Like, come on, man
[00:13:29] Right
[00:13:29] You don't offer a coach...
[00:13:31] First of all, you don't offer any coach
[00:13:32] Three years
[00:13:33] Every other coach
[00:13:33] New coaches were getting
[00:13:35] Four or five year deal offers
[00:13:37] Up to 30 million dollars
[00:13:39] Hey, Bill Belichick got three years
[00:13:41] You know, but...
[00:13:42] He also gonna retire in a year and a half
[00:13:44] And his son gonna take over next October
[00:13:46] You know, but...
[00:13:48] But nah, like I said though
[00:13:49] At the beginning, you know
[00:13:50] Hopefully, you know
[00:13:51] There's nothing crazy going on
[00:13:53] You know, I know they said personal reasons
[00:13:55] So hopefully he just needs a break for real
[00:13:58] And just get away from the game
[00:13:59] He'll do some Christmas shopping
[00:14:00] Watch his son
[00:14:01] Yeah...
[00:14:01] More basketball
[00:14:02] And hopefully it's not actually personal reasons
[00:14:05] You know, so...
[00:14:07] Of course
[00:14:08] This weekend
[00:14:09] We got some football
[00:14:11] And of course, you know
[00:14:12] I'm excited because the celebration bowl is tomorrow
[00:14:15] South Carolina State against Jackson State
[00:14:17] You know, we got South Alabama
[00:14:20] Against Western Michigan
[00:14:23] But now it's time to talk about the NFL
[00:14:25] So, on Sunday, Mr. Logical
[00:14:29] We got two very big monumental games
[00:14:34] That are gonna go a long way
[00:14:35] In determining who has home field advantage
[00:14:39] So, first of all
[00:14:40] We're gonna start at Ford Field
[00:14:43] Where the Buffalo Bills are coming in
[00:14:45] After a loss
[00:14:47] Where they scored 42 points
[00:14:49] And it wasn't overtime
[00:14:51] You know, Josh Allen
[00:14:53] Six total touchdowns
[00:14:55] Cementing himself in the MVP race
[00:14:57] Some people say he's the leader
[00:14:59] Yeah, just forgot all about Saquon
[00:15:01] Forgot all about him
[00:15:03] You know what I'm saying?
[00:15:03] Forgot about Dre
[00:15:05] You know what I'm saying?
[00:15:06] So...
[00:15:07] Is this...
[00:15:09] Circle the wagon time?
[00:15:11] Are we gonna see a Buffalo bounce back?
[00:15:16] I like Detroit here
[00:15:21] I mean...
[00:15:23] Detroit does have a lot of injuries
[00:15:24] A lot of defensive injuries
[00:15:28] But not a lot of offensive injuries
[00:15:30] And I think they put up points
[00:15:33] Yeah, number one in the league
[00:15:37] At home
[00:15:38] I'm gonna take Detroit
[00:15:39] I don't think it's...
[00:15:40] I don't think losing two games for Buffalo
[00:15:43] Is gonna be like, oh my God
[00:15:44] The...
[00:15:44] The wall...
[00:15:45] The ceiling's falling in
[00:15:46] I think it's just a matchup of...
[00:15:49] You know, two road games
[00:15:51] The Rams are...
[00:15:56] Up and coming team
[00:15:57] They have a veteran quarterback
[00:15:58] He knows how to dissect stuff
[00:16:00] The offensive...
[00:16:00] Offensive genius mind of Sean McVay
[00:16:03] And they were able to put up points
[00:16:05] I think the...
[00:16:06] The...
[00:16:08] Explosiveness of the Detroit offense
[00:16:12] It's probably gonna be another game
[00:16:13] Like last week
[00:16:14] I'm thinking like 38-35
[00:16:17] A lot of...
[00:16:19] Big plays
[00:16:21] Hopefully...
[00:16:21] Like I said, Detroit...
[00:16:23] You're looking that this is a potential
[00:16:24] Super Bowl matchup
[00:16:26] I like Buffalo and the AFC
[00:16:27] To really make some noise in the playoffs
[00:16:29] But this week...
[00:16:30] I like Detroit...
[00:16:32] Just because I think they're whole in offense
[00:16:33] And you could just...
[00:16:36] I'm not saying defense is plug and play
[00:16:38] But you can make defensive plays
[00:16:40] With your second, third string guys out there
[00:16:43] Where...
[00:16:44] If your offense is fully intact
[00:16:45] Yeah, see one of the things that separates
[00:16:48] College football from the NFL
[00:16:49] Is in college football a lot
[00:16:51] We talk about how weak your schedule is
[00:16:53] Or how strong your schedule is
[00:16:55] Whereas in the NFL
[00:16:56] They're all professionals
[00:16:57] You know...
[00:16:59] In the NFL...
[00:17:01] A league like the NFL
[00:17:02] Where there's professionals
[00:17:04] A lot of times you can build confidence
[00:17:06] Through winning
[00:17:08] So when I look at Detroit
[00:17:10] Right...
[00:17:11] They lost way back on September 15th
[00:17:14] At home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
[00:17:18] During this win streak that they're on right now
[00:17:22] You know...
[00:17:24] There's some Dallas in there
[00:17:25] There's some Tennessee in there
[00:17:27] There's some Jacksonville
[00:17:28] And Indy Chicago in there
[00:17:31] So, you know...
[00:17:33] I would feel a little bit more comfortable
[00:17:35] If...
[00:17:36] There was say a Philadelphia
[00:17:38] You know...
[00:17:39] A Kansas City...
[00:17:40] A Pittsburgh...
[00:17:41] So on and so forth...
[00:17:43] I think this is the first time
[00:17:45] And...
[00:17:46] Green Bay definitely challenged them last week
[00:17:48] But this is the first time that I feel
[00:17:50] Detroit has played an opponent that
[00:17:54] Should...
[00:17:55] Pushed them or should be able to hang with them
[00:17:58] And I want to see how they react to that
[00:18:00] So to your point about the injuries
[00:18:01] Not only are they injured
[00:18:03] But a lot of those injuries are along the front seven
[00:18:05] So there should be a game
[00:18:08] Where James Cook and the rookie Ray Davis
[00:18:11] You know...
[00:18:12] From Kentucky...
[00:18:14] The team that...
[00:18:15] Kept Ole Miss out the...
[00:18:16] Oh, never mind...
[00:18:17] You know...
[00:18:18] So...
[00:18:21] So...
[00:18:21] Buffalo should be able to run the ball
[00:18:23] Which...
[00:18:23] Ergo...
[00:18:24] Will keep Detroit on the sideline
[00:18:27] You know...
[00:18:28] Obviously...
[00:18:29] Detroit is going to aim to do the same thing
[00:18:32] Dalton Kincaid should be back for this game
[00:18:35] I think this game...
[00:18:37] Like you said earlier
[00:18:38] You know...
[00:18:38] I don't think this game is going to be much different
[00:18:40] Than the Ram game
[00:18:41] As far as the offensive output
[00:18:44] The difference is...
[00:18:46] Is that I think Buffalo
[00:18:49] Knows that they need this game
[00:18:50] You know...
[00:18:51] They fell...
[00:18:52] Further behind Kansas City...
[00:18:55] You know...
[00:18:56] With their loss last week
[00:18:58] They're nipping at Pittsburgh now
[00:19:00] So...
[00:19:01] I know I'm being a little hyperbolic
[00:19:03] But if I wasn't being hyperbolic
[00:19:05] I wouldn't be 2-5
[00:19:07] True...
[00:19:08] This is a must win for Buffalo
[00:19:10] You know what I mean?
[00:19:11] I think this is a must win
[00:19:12] Just from the standpoint of...
[00:19:14] They're already...
[00:19:15] They've already exceeded expectations
[00:19:19] So...
[00:19:19] You know...
[00:19:19] If they finish the season...
[00:19:21] Let's call it...
[00:19:22] 12-5 or so...
[00:19:23] And they lost a couple more games
[00:19:26] They're still further along
[00:19:27] Than anybody thought they would be
[00:19:30] Yeah...
[00:19:30] But...
[00:19:32] That works if you're Arizona
[00:19:34] That works if you're Seattle
[00:19:36] You're the Buffalo Bills
[00:19:38] With the MVP candidate
[00:19:40] Potential leader
[00:19:42] That...
[00:19:43] Has a bullseye on Kansas City
[00:19:46] You feel...
[00:19:48] That...
[00:19:49] You would be Super Bowl champions by now
[00:19:52] If Patrick Mahomes was never born
[00:19:56] So I think Buffalo gotta win this game
[00:19:58] And I'm gonna pick them to do it
[00:20:01] So you're picking Buffalo
[00:20:03] Yeah...
[00:20:04] Picking Buffalo
[00:20:04] I call it...
[00:20:05] 41-38
[00:20:08] It's a hell of a game
[00:20:09] Take the over
[00:20:10] But...
[00:20:10] A game that might be even better
[00:20:13] Because you know me
[00:20:14] I'm the one that likes the defensive games
[00:20:16] You know...
[00:20:17] 12-6...
[00:20:18] Rams...
[00:20:19] 49ers...
[00:20:19] Right up my alley
[00:20:22] So we got a game going on
[00:20:24] In the city of brotherly love
[00:20:26] Where the gangsters from
[00:20:28] Allegheny County
[00:20:29] Led by their Air Force One
[00:20:32] Wearing head coaches
[00:20:33] Coming through...
[00:20:33] Black Air Force One
[00:20:34] Bad news in the building
[00:20:36] Yes...
[00:20:37] You know...
[00:20:37] Coming through Philadelphia
[00:20:41] You know...
[00:20:42] This is gonna be a game
[00:20:44] You know...
[00:20:44] This is like...
[00:20:45] From a lot of different angles
[00:20:47] You got Russell Wilson
[00:20:48] Against...
[00:20:49] Trying to figure out Vic Fangio's defense
[00:20:51] You got Saquon
[00:20:53] Trying to get loose
[00:20:53] On one of the top defenses in the league
[00:20:55] You know...
[00:20:56] He's 400 and so yards away
[00:20:58] From breaking the record
[00:20:59] He's gotta get some yards here
[00:21:01] If that's on...
[00:21:02] If that's on the thing
[00:21:03] You know...
[00:21:04] Jalen Hurts...
[00:21:04] This should be a game
[00:21:06] Where...
[00:21:07] He's gotta take shots
[00:21:09] Like...
[00:21:09] I feel like if they're playing offense
[00:21:11] The way that they've been playing
[00:21:12] In the...
[00:21:14] Passing game
[00:21:14] As A.J. Brown would call it
[00:21:16] You know...
[00:21:17] They can't play Pittsburgh
[00:21:18] In between the numbers
[00:21:20] They can't play Pittsburgh
[00:21:22] Sideline to sideline
[00:21:23] They're way too good for that
[00:21:24] This is a tough spot for Philly
[00:21:26] It is...
[00:21:27] But I think Pittsburgh can be had
[00:21:29] Over the top
[00:21:30] I just don't know if Jalen Hurts
[00:21:33] Is the one that can do it
[00:21:36] The issue that Philly's gonna run into
[00:21:38] Is that...
[00:21:40] In game...
[00:21:41] Wide receivers tend to...
[00:21:45] Become...
[00:21:46] Potentially disruptive
[00:21:47] Uh huh...
[00:21:48] Because...
[00:21:49] They...
[00:21:49] There's nothing else they can do
[00:21:50] To get in the game
[00:21:51] A running back is gonna get
[00:21:53] A few handoffs
[00:21:54] Even if he gets eight
[00:21:55] He's probably gonna get a check down
[00:21:57] He'll get the pick up a blitz
[00:21:59] So like...
[00:22:01] Saquon can be involved in the game
[00:22:03] Getting chips
[00:22:04] Getting blocks
[00:22:06] Like I said...
[00:22:07] He's gonna get...
[00:22:08] You know...
[00:22:10] Even if he only gets ten carries
[00:22:11] In the first half
[00:22:12] Or ten touches
[00:22:13] He's gonna get ten touches
[00:22:14] Wide receivers
[00:22:16] Unless you're running jet sweeps
[00:22:18] Or some kind of handoffs
[00:22:19] You gotta get them the ball
[00:22:20] In their routes
[00:22:21] And Pittsburgh
[00:22:22] Being a defensive team
[00:22:24] That they are
[00:22:24] And Philly having that...
[00:22:26] That funk that they went through
[00:22:28] Last year
[00:22:28] And it seems to be kind of brewing up
[00:22:30] Even though it's only one game
[00:22:33] Still balls start small
[00:22:35] Right...
[00:22:36] And I think this is the kind of game
[00:22:37] Where Tomlin
[00:22:39] Like a tactician
[00:22:40] The way Belichick was
[00:22:41] Is like okay cool
[00:22:43] I know how to deal
[00:22:44] With a D-Wire receiver
[00:22:45] I know what bothers them
[00:22:46] I got one on my team
[00:22:47] I've had one on my team
[00:22:49] Since I coached here
[00:22:49] Yeah I was gonna ask you that
[00:22:50] Do you think that Jalen
[00:22:52] Or the coaches
[00:22:55] Try to force feed A.J. Brown?
[00:22:57] I think that they're gonna have to force it through six hands
[00:23:02] I think there's gonna be a lot of hands
[00:23:05] In the A.J. Brown pass window
[00:23:07] I think there's gonna be a lot of guys
[00:23:09] That just kinda slide his direction
[00:23:12] No matter where he is on the field
[00:23:14] To frustrate him
[00:23:15] Because we talked about it with...
[00:23:17] I told you so before with Kobe
[00:23:20] They would double the guy
[00:23:22] That was looking to get a contract
[00:23:25] And let the guy who just signed his contract
[00:23:27] Shoot all the shots
[00:23:28] And then watch them implode on the bench
[00:23:30] I'ma double A.J. Brown
[00:23:32] Not only because he's a talent
[00:23:34] I'ma double him
[00:23:35] Frustrate him
[00:23:37] So I'ma frustrate...
[00:23:39] I'ma get him on J.J.
[00:23:42] I don't know if y'all gonna fall apart again
[00:23:44] But I'ma try to find out if you want
[00:23:45] I'ma try to help out
[00:23:46] Cause it's all good
[00:23:47] Like you know when you're winning all these games
[00:23:51] Sirianni's bad moves
[00:23:52] We don't talk about it
[00:23:53] But you know the one thing that I don't like
[00:23:55] No George Pickens again
[00:23:57] I don't like that
[00:23:58] You know what I mean?
[00:23:59] Because now you're talking about
[00:24:01] Quignan Mitchell having a field day
[00:24:04] On the rest of that receiving core
[00:24:06] I think Pittsburgh
[00:24:08] I think Pittsburgh is good
[00:24:11] With a 16-13 victory
[00:24:14] Or a 15-13
[00:24:16] Like if they get 5 field goals
[00:24:17] Or 6 field goals
[00:24:19] It's interesting that you say that
[00:24:21] Because I'm picking Pittsburgh
[00:24:22] 19-14
[00:24:23] Yeah I think they're be good with that
[00:24:25] Because
[00:24:27] It's this like I said
[00:24:29] Tactician Belichick
[00:24:30] That 13-3 Super Bowl
[00:24:32] The NFL wants 33-30 Super Bowls
[00:24:36] They want 35-28
[00:24:37] They want
[00:24:39] The MVP that has 3-4 touchdowns
[00:24:42] Whether it's a running back
[00:24:43] Wide receiver
[00:24:44] Tight end
[00:24:45] Defensive back
[00:24:46] Whoever
[00:24:46] They want points
[00:24:48] Bill was like
[00:24:48] We can win this game
[00:24:50] Playing tough defense
[00:24:52] Playing the zone he hasn't seen all year
[00:24:54] And I think Tom is going to be like
[00:24:56] We're going to play this game
[00:24:57] By just jamming A.J. Brown
[00:24:59] Hitting him
[00:25:00] Pushing him around
[00:25:01] We're going to send people after Jalen
[00:25:03] Make him scramble
[00:25:04] Make him run
[00:25:05] Make him take hits
[00:25:06] And that's the main reason that I like Pittsburgh
[00:25:08] Is
[00:25:11] The
[00:25:11] I guess the
[00:25:14] I don't know how to word it
[00:25:16] I guess the matching of wits
[00:25:17] Of Mike Tomlin and Sirianni
[00:25:19] You know the gambler versus the
[00:25:22] Stay the course guy
[00:25:23] That isn't going to get spooked
[00:25:25] Isn't going to panic
[00:25:26] Even if Philly goes up 10-0
[00:25:27] You know Mike Tomlin
[00:25:29] Stick to the play
[00:25:30] The pick six when
[00:25:32] Pickens fell against Cincinnati
[00:25:34] And he was like
[00:25:34] That's not going to side the game
[00:25:36] Right
[00:25:36] But Sirianni's like
[00:25:38] Hey plays like that is how we lose football games
[00:25:40] Right
[00:25:41] It's a difference of tone
[00:25:42] Yeah
[00:25:43] And I need Philly to
[00:25:44] And Russell Wilson's from Virginia
[00:25:48] So I'm riding with him too
[00:25:49] And I need Philly to show me that
[00:25:52] They've matured from last year too
[00:25:55] You know like
[00:25:56] Because it's all good when you win
[00:25:58] And you know
[00:25:59] In all these things you've got an MVP candidate
[00:26:01] But
[00:26:02] How do you react when you face adversity?
[00:26:04] Another like real quick
[00:26:06] Kansas City's been winning all their games
[00:26:09] For the most part
[00:26:11] And you know like kind of fluky fashions
[00:26:13] I don't recall
[00:26:14] Travis Kelsey answering a question
[00:26:17] About
[00:26:19] You know what this offense needs to do
[00:26:21] By saying
[00:26:22] Pass it better
[00:26:23] Or anything like that
[00:26:25] Even though that could be the answer
[00:26:26] Or guys didn't learn how to run their routes
[00:26:29] Like you don't say that after wins
[00:26:30] You don't say that after losses
[00:26:31] But to say it after a win
[00:26:33] Is like that's the most
[00:26:35] That's the most damaging piece
[00:26:37] Like you
[00:26:38] If you saw the interviews
[00:26:39] Like when you see the interviews
[00:26:41] From the San Francisco players this week
[00:26:42] Talking about
[00:26:43] Campbell walking up the field
[00:26:45] You know they lost
[00:26:47] Okay that sounds like the interview
[00:26:48] Okay these guys are talking
[00:26:50] The coach is talking the tone
[00:26:51] It's like okay they lost
[00:26:52] You watch the Philly interview
[00:26:54] Even offensive linemen
[00:26:56] I thought they lost to Carolina
[00:26:58] Because I saw the interview clips first
[00:26:59] Because I was busy all day
[00:27:00] So I looked it up
[00:27:01] I was like they won
[00:27:03] But it was just like
[00:27:04] Instead of feeling like
[00:27:06] Yeah we battled back
[00:27:07] It was like we shouldn't have been
[00:27:08] In this position anyway
[00:27:09] It was like an arrogance
[00:27:10] Yep
[00:27:10] That led to like those
[00:27:12] Kind of like immature comments
[00:27:13] I knew AJ Brown was trouble
[00:27:15] When he walked in
[00:27:16] So uh
[00:27:17] You know
[00:27:18] Miami
[00:27:20] Still trying to keep these
[00:27:21] Playoff hopes alive
[00:27:22] I'm so upset with you right now
[00:27:24] It's stuck in my head now
[00:27:25] Hey
[00:27:26] All I'm saying is
[00:27:28] The Houston Texans
[00:27:29] Made the playoffs last year
[00:27:30] And
[00:27:31] Now
[00:27:33] Their castles are crumbling
[00:27:34] You know but so
[00:27:36] So the Houston
[00:27:39] So
[00:27:41] I mean you would think
[00:27:43] It was a dead poet society
[00:27:45] Um
[00:27:48] I'm gonna fight you
[00:27:52] But the Dolphins are coming in
[00:27:54] Trying to keep their season alive
[00:27:56] Trying to keep their slim
[00:27:57] Playoff hopes alive
[00:27:59] Trying to stay out of trouble
[00:28:00] You know Tua has been on a tear
[00:28:02] For the last month
[00:28:03] You know no interceptions
[00:28:05] 11 touchdowns
[00:28:06] You know besides the game
[00:28:08] At Green Bay
[00:28:08] No blemishes for the Dolphins
[00:28:10] The Texans coming off the bye
[00:28:12] And they've been looking like crap
[00:28:15] Ever since say week three-ish
[00:28:18] You know like they can beat the Colts
[00:28:20] So they're gonna make the playoffs
[00:28:21] Because they're gonna win the division by default
[00:28:23] Yeah
[00:28:24] But I don't know how good
[00:28:26] Or bad
[00:28:27] Or bad
[00:28:27] Houston is because
[00:28:28] At the same time that they've looked this way
[00:28:30] I can also say
[00:28:31] Well hey
[00:28:32] Nico Collins went out for a couple of games
[00:28:35] Stefan Diggs is out for the year now
[00:28:37] So they had to adjust to that
[00:28:39] But they got Miami coming in
[00:28:41] Miami trying to make it to the playoffs
[00:28:44] What you think?
[00:28:46] I like Houston at home
[00:28:50] I don't know what the weather is
[00:28:52] I think they can play with the dome open
[00:28:56] And if they can I would
[00:29:00] Okay
[00:29:00] I'm gonna check the weather real quick for Houston
[00:29:03] I just I just I want to I want Miami if it's chilly
[00:29:06] Let's put it let's let's open up this dome
[00:29:09] Well, I'm taking Houston no matter what the weather is
[00:29:13] I'll put it like that
[00:29:14] Probably still gonna be warm
[00:29:16] Coming off the bye, you know you gave
[00:29:18] It's gonna be 78 now turn the AC on
[00:29:21] You gave the Rico Ryan some extra days to game plan for Tua
[00:29:25] And that attack, you know Tyree kill with more kids than touchdowns
[00:29:29] You know, I'm taking Houston
[00:29:30] Yeah, my man has
[00:29:33] In 2024 has created more children than touchdowns
[00:29:39] God put us here to repopulate the earth and Tyree kill just doing his job
[00:29:43] Yeah, he's not doing the job they're paying him to do
[00:29:47] That's for sure
[00:29:48] You know he was voted number one player
[00:29:49] Number one player in the league last year
[00:29:52] That's nuts
[00:29:52] I never yeah. Oh yeah on the top 100. Yeah. Yeah. Top 100.
[00:29:56] The player voted him like
[00:29:57] But yeah, so you you're rolling with Miami?
[00:29:59] Not rolling with Houston. All right. All right. I got Houston as well
[00:30:02] So let's go out to mile high stadium
[00:30:05] Where you know we were talking about how the Dolphins are trying to keep their playoff hopes alive
[00:30:09] Well, there's a team in front of them
[00:30:13] Obviously the Broncos are the seventh seed right now if the playoff started today
[00:30:17] But Miami also has to jump over the Colts
[00:30:20] The Colts are going to mile high this weekend
[00:30:22] There's going to be some wind
[00:30:23] There's going to be some weather which is a great thing because that means Anthony Richardson is going to throw less
[00:30:28] The bad news is Denver is still number six against the run anyway
[00:30:32] So I don't know how the Colts move the ball in this game
[00:30:36] You know, um
[00:30:37] And on top of
[00:30:41] Not being able to move the ball
[00:30:43] I don't know if the Colts can stop the ball
[00:30:46] You know because if you look at third down defense
[00:30:50] They're 23rd in the league
[00:30:51] So they can't get off the field on defense
[00:30:54] Sean Bradley
[00:30:55] I mean, I'm sorry Sean Payton versus Gus Bradley
[00:30:59] I'll take Sean Payton all day in that matchup
[00:31:01] There and nothing with third down defense is also I think it because as a fan of the Falcons
[00:31:06] It also extends to third down offense
[00:31:09] For your team because a lot of times
[00:31:12] Teams that can't move the ball
[00:31:14] End up putting the tired defense back on the field
[00:31:17] So the third eventually
[00:31:19] It's going to be
[00:31:20] The dam breaks
[00:31:21] Yeah, it's going to break because you got
[00:31:23] Especially if you have a guy like if you don't run the ball well
[00:31:27] But you run it a lot
[00:31:28] At least the clock's running
[00:31:30] It's time being taken off the clock
[00:31:32] But we have a bad passing offense
[00:31:35] Like I said the Falcons have for a couple years where it just was
[00:31:38] You couldn't they couldn't make anything happen in the right game
[00:31:41] So second and third down both passes
[00:31:42] They're incomplete in the three and out would be
[00:31:45] The drive would be a minute long
[00:31:48] And you kicking it back to a team that runs the ball
[00:31:51] And they're running it for seven eight minutes in a quarter
[00:31:54] And then eventually the third down it just breaks down
[00:31:57] So I think a lot of that is you know
[00:31:59] One hands not watching the other in that regard
[00:32:02] Whereas Denver they keep it simple
[00:32:04] We have a rookie quarterback
[00:32:05] And the formula for a rookie quarterback is to run the ball well
[00:32:10] Get them easy throws
[00:32:12] Play solid defense
[00:32:14] And they have a veteran coach even though I don't really I don't really rock with him too tough
[00:32:19] I just think that he understands that like listen
[00:32:22] He probably wanted Russell Wilson to do Drew Brees like stuff
[00:32:25] And Russell and he was like listen I'm not Drew like I don't know what all this stuff means
[00:32:31] You know like the way you want it I don't know like I don't know what you want you just got here
[00:32:34] I just got here I had another guy last year
[00:32:36] You want me to be the guy you were coaching for seven years eight years
[00:32:40] And that's not gonna be the case
[00:32:41] Whereas Bo Nixack
[00:32:44] He's like listen I don't know the difference between the NFL defense
[00:32:46] So whatever you tell me is what I'm gonna believe
[00:32:49] This is what I know so I'm just gonna hit these spots
[00:32:51] And then like he yelled at him on the sideline at one time
[00:32:54] Like man fuck out my face
[00:32:57] Be putting it is what it is
[00:32:58] I think we're gonna see the Denver defense stand up
[00:33:01] Because the last time we saw them
[00:33:02] Jameis was ripping them a new asshole
[00:33:05] You know and then coming off the bye as well Sean Payton
[00:33:08] You know and then
[00:33:11] Denver hasn't lost to a team under 500 this year
[00:33:14] And I don't think the Colts are gonna be the team to do it
[00:33:18] All right, let's go to Sunday night football
[00:33:21] This is a game that I have tossed back and forth
[00:33:24] And I just you know I might as well flip a coin right now actually
[00:33:28] But you got Green Bay going to Seattle
[00:33:31] You know when these two teams get together
[00:33:33] It's always drama you know I think about the
[00:33:35] Golden Tate touchdown that really wasn't but was
[00:33:40] With the replacement refs
[00:33:41] Yeah, then you got the you know,
[00:33:43] NFC championship game
[00:33:45] All the Packers had to do was recover the onside kick
[00:33:48] You know Russell throws a touchdown pass
[00:33:50] To beat them in that game
[00:33:52] Micah High returns at interception for a touchdown
[00:33:55] Aaron Rodgers goes to the Super Bowl
[00:33:56] But for some reason he slid
[00:33:58] Yeah, go get points.
[00:34:00] Yeah, so so good news for the Packers.
[00:34:02] It sounds like Romeo Dubes and
[00:34:05] Jair never there Alexander is going to be back for this game.
[00:34:09] So you know and as you know the one Mike podcast told us the other day
[00:34:13] Jair Alexander is the thing that keeps that defense running
[00:34:16] Xavier McKinney is the ball hawk that makes plays
[00:34:19] Jair is the old reliable that shuts down the side of the field.
[00:34:23] Yeah, so you know four straight wins for Seattle.
[00:34:27] You know, as as I look at this I don't know what Green Bay is still.
[00:34:33] You know Jordan love, you know has been topsy turvsy a lot this year.
[00:34:39] You know Kenneth Walker looks like he's not going to play again.
[00:34:42] So Zach Charbonnet.
[00:34:43] But here's a question, Mr. Logical and this is a random ass question.
[00:34:49] So you have your thunder and lightning running backs.
[00:34:53] You know, so Kenneth Walker is like your game breaker.
[00:34:57] Charbonnet is your three yards in a cloud of dust.
[00:35:00] Correct.
[00:35:00] Do you think that.
[00:35:03] Due to that.
[00:35:06] What's the word I'm looking for.
[00:35:08] Does it could it hinder Seattle's offense pace wise.
[00:35:13] Plan against a team like Green Bay.
[00:35:17] That I'd never think having balance at the.
[00:35:20] The running back position or that style.
[00:35:24] Because I think that's effective.
[00:35:26] Because first second and third down three and a half yards per play is the
[00:35:30] first down no matter how you slice no matter how you get it.
[00:35:33] If you like if Philly ran the tush push for three and a half yards per play.
[00:35:37] They get a first down.
[00:35:38] It's not pretty, but I think.
[00:35:40] It's about building first downs.
[00:35:42] You have big play wide receivers on the outside.
[00:35:45] You have reliable receiver inside.
[00:35:47] You have a veteran quarterback.
[00:35:49] You need that run game to keep defense honest.
[00:35:53] So where.
[00:35:54] Because if you make a mistake defensively in the back end or if they just call.
[00:35:59] If they go zero coverage.
[00:36:01] You know cover zero.
[00:36:02] They bring everybody in the box.
[00:36:04] And they just they send the house.
[00:36:06] You have weapons on the outside that can make them pay like we talked about the.
[00:36:10] If you think about that Rams game when they win the overtime.
[00:36:14] And they ultimately went for an overtime and then get in and the Rams that went in.
[00:36:20] But it was that was Jackson Smith and Jigna all the way down the field.
[00:36:23] It just was my guys better than your guy in this moment.
[00:36:27] And I think they have that.
[00:36:28] So being able to run the ball with balance.
[00:36:31] It's about the offense.
[00:36:31] But Jordan Love he made some throws in this Green Bay game that are like.
[00:36:37] You.
[00:36:39] It's.
[00:36:39] He was making throws and say, yeah, this check that I get, I deserve.
[00:36:44] It was one play a guy came free up the middle from Detroit.
[00:36:50] he did like a little shoulder lean shut up the young drill
[00:36:55] and threw it like a deep crossing route to uh christian watkins yeah and the db was underneath
[00:37:06] it was a perfect pass the touchdown he threw to craft same thing it was like he slid a guy
[00:37:12] stepped up in the pocket reset his feet do it and it's like from every angle it was like
[00:37:18] how did this ball get through if i was like i said if i was playing a video game and that pass
[00:37:22] got through i'd have been pissed that's how good these passes were so like i said they're a fourth
[00:37:27] down stop away from jared golf fell on that handoff like if they mess that up they get the
[00:37:34] ball back and they're and they're beating detroit and ending detroit's win streak so i think they
[00:37:39] have enough to beat seattle and seattle's in a tough race in their division the rams are coming on strong
[00:37:46] i'm pretty sure they all you know they're aware that the ramps are now eight and six so um who who's
[00:37:53] seattle head coach again mcdonald something mike mcdonald yeah you know since the bye week seattle
[00:38:02] has given up 14.2 points less than they did before the bye week that's impressive who they play after
[00:38:10] the bye week you know saying hey who are the quarterbacks they played it don't matter you know
[00:38:14] we just talked about this nfl versus college you build some of these quarterbacks i'm taking seattle
[00:38:20] that's what i'm trying to tell you here they're gonna make dordan love feel like he's having a
[00:38:26] cruel summer oh my god
[00:38:31] tampa bay
[00:38:34] tampa bay the new leaders of the nfc south
[00:38:39] going up against the chargers you know justin herbert apparently has a busted ankle to go along
[00:38:46] with his leg contusion i don't know if i've ever had a contusion that's such a crazy word but uh this
[00:38:52] is the number one defense in the nfl against the number five scoring offense justin herbert has been
[00:38:59] killing it back to our conversation the other day where i was talking about how jim harbaugh
[00:39:04] doesn't let justin herbert close the games justin herbert right now is on a 355
[00:39:12] pass streak without an interception which is fifth longest all time now i might have just jinxed him
[00:39:19] so he might go they brought up they brought it up during the game okay okay okay okay so um so
[00:39:25] my first question is is lat mcconkey gonna play you know because if he doesn't play i'm not sure
[00:39:33] you know how this goes for the chargers what i do know you ready you ready baker mayfield is an
[00:39:41] anti-hero you know that he's gonna come through so far and i think the buccaneers are going to win
[00:39:50] this game and keep their slight lead on the nfc south i think they got the nfc south wrapped up
[00:40:00] anyway so i think they know they're playing with house money so i think they're playing with a higher
[00:40:05] level of confidence and the last thing you want to do is give baker mayfield more confidence big
[00:40:10] play bake so i'm still going to pick them i'm going to pick tampa bay against the chargers something
[00:40:16] about the way the chargers play they like i said it's beginning of the game x's and o's into the
[00:40:24] game jimmies and joes i think jim harbaugh goes too much x and o at the end of the game
[00:40:31] and i think it costs it's it it's has shown like kind of cost them to put them in position where they
[00:40:37] could have lost like the game against atlanta they probably should have lost but kirk cousins couldn't
[00:40:41] hit couldn't hit the ocean from the beach uh because what the the caliber quarterback you have
[00:40:48] his temperament his size his arm strength you should be putting up more points and it should be
[00:40:54] deliberate it should be like actionable hey we're trying to put up points but what it feels is like
[00:41:00] we're trying to win game and winning games you can win a game three zero you know if you get a safety
[00:41:06] early in the game and you shut the other team out yeah you could win two zero so having the mindset
[00:41:11] like we're trying to win the game is fine but you also have to kind of marry that with we got to put
[00:41:17] some points to make winning this game more probable we can't kansas city once they kansas city went to
[00:41:25] have 13 zero and when they came i had those back-to-back drives okay boom we're on their necks
[00:41:32] let's stay focused let's not let mahomes out of the box like keep them in just play man-to-man with
[00:41:39] worthy because everyone's screaming every week i hear it mic'd up every single week you're going to run
[00:41:45] straight every single week i hear a different db on someone's microphone whether it's a coach's mic
[00:41:50] whether it's the refs mic whether it's the nfl films mic someone's screaming out he can only run
[00:41:56] straight so you i think listen you focus on scoring points not just winning the game because i think
[00:42:02] winning the game and solely focus on that you lose the fact that you know what this fourth and three
[00:42:08] i think i got to play to beat that to keep this drive going but it's like i get it you don't want to go
[00:42:13] for fourth downs every time but there has to be a mindset like yo let's go get these points
[00:42:19] because we have the we have the talent to go get these points i got the offensive line built to dominate
[00:42:26] the defensive line right put them into action it's like you got these pit bulls these guard dogs
[00:42:32] and you don't let them bite so who you're going with i'm going to i'm going to tamper bay just
[00:42:38] because i think he's gonna i think he's gonna legislate himself out of a game and end up losing 23 17
[00:42:44] okay so i don't know if marshawn latimore will love the saints forever and always
[00:42:55] but when it comes to loving the washington commanders i'm guilty of sin
[00:43:01] with that being said marshawn latimore is making his return against his former team that he was traded
[00:43:07] from a few weeks ago for some strange reason that is beyond me jake hayner is getting the start
[00:43:14] instead of spencer rattler because he sucks you know now that dirt car has fractured his hand
[00:43:20] and maybe out for the season we'll see but new orleans has slim slim slim playoff hopes and they're
[00:43:28] going to end this weekend absolutely cliff clingsbury is going to come through like a hurricane
[00:43:37] they're going to come through the house of horrors they're going to expel the demons
[00:43:43] now the one thing that i am concerned about is that neither team can stop the run
[00:43:48] you know so washington's going to give up some rush yards
[00:43:52] they're going to get down 10-0 that dude is going to fumble so many times because he's not going to
[00:43:58] see the blitz coming it's got to be a terrible game it's got to be if you are a fantasy owner
[00:44:04] and you have an offensive player for the uh washington commanders play them if you have their defense
[00:44:11] play it you're going to get two picks and one of them's probably going to go for a touchdown
[00:44:15] right you definitely you're getting a fumble recovery the quarterback's going to fumble
[00:44:19] throw two picks and if they put spencer rattler in it's going to get at least one more and we don't
[00:44:25] know done i didn't think they would be done the beginning season until you told me they were
[00:44:28] and i was like nah they'd be good nah they are done they are i don't know i don't know if kamara's
[00:44:34] going to play you know he hasn't been practicing this week but what i do not playing for these bums
[00:44:39] but what i do know i'm 10 year veteran i'm not lined up behind these inadequate rookies and get my
[00:44:45] brains beat in for what i'm still getting this check no matter what this is the passion is over
[00:44:50] this is it all you teams that are vying for top 10 positions if you got a fantasy player on any of
[00:44:56] these teams that's supposed to be good at hamstrings it's going to be so many tight hamstrings and ankles
[00:45:03] for the next five weeks these dudes are done they're planning their vacations all these teams
[00:45:09] that are starting these bum quarterbacks that go into third and fourth street quarterbacks
[00:45:13] they are jockeying for draft positions so they could get cam shador travis all of them all of them
[00:45:22] like it's probably teams trying to stack up guys and try to move contracts now to try to get themselves
[00:45:27] into the top 10 the way chicago had last year and try to get a uh do what it's going to change their
[00:45:33] season the same way houston did two years ago so i don't know are done so i don't know if kamara's
[00:45:39] going to play but what i do know is that all the saints are going to see is maroon
[00:45:49] all right bangles and titans bangles and titans you know brian callahan going against his former
[00:45:58] team you know he was the offensive coordinator for the bangles you know he's going you know they're at
[00:46:04] home bangles are coming through joe burrows should be in the mvp conversation if cincinnati had a
[00:46:11] defense but as is he's going to have to settle for paper rings so with that being said give me the
[00:46:22] burrows your offensive player of the year then give me the bangles between him and jamar chase yeah i'm
[00:46:27] taking the bangles uh jamar chase his stats it's ridiculous like he did something that no wide
[00:46:37] receiver ever done in the history and then he's done it three times total this season right so yeah
[00:46:44] that combination joe burrow has 700 more passing yards and two more touchdowns than josh allen josh
[00:46:51] challenge your leading evp candidate but nuts nuts so so you know um the cowboys are suffering from a lack
[00:47:01] of the alchemy they are going to carolina and mr logical did you know this is the first game that
[00:47:14] carolina has been favored in since december of 2022 was cam starting that week i don't think cam was there
[00:47:25] i think he might have been i think that might have been that might have been that last year on the
[00:47:30] i'm back year right i don't know but i guess to the panthers it could be because to the panthers cam
[00:47:36] newton is timeless you know but um do you write all these down no so the no this is not on my notes
[00:47:48] so the panthers you know are coming in on a three-game losing streak in these three games they battle
[00:47:55] kansas city down to the wire just i guess just like everybody else does they went to overtime
[00:48:00] with tampa and they had the six point loss last week at philly where xavier leggett the rookie
[00:48:08] dropped a potential game winning touchdown catch i had coon grease on my hand man you never couldn't
[00:48:14] yeah he got yeah he got that cool grease on my hand man you know what i'm on so dallas on monday
[00:48:19] night football lost a game in a way that i don't think i've ever seen a team lose a game before
[00:48:26] you could say that cincinnati had a white horse come through
[00:48:32] i've seen a team lose a game like that before what's up one mike you know said in the building
[00:48:37] you know said mondays and thursdays get them gyms in that black on black news you know hey look
[00:48:44] the panthers believe and i believe so sorry mike but i'm taking the panthers to beat the cowboys this
[00:48:52] weekend as am i because you've never seen a team lose that way i've seen leon let in the snow versus
[00:49:00] miami try to pick up the block field goal then miami recovered it and kicked the field goal and beat
[00:49:06] dallas so dallas does stuff like this also something like granted they won the super bowl but leon let
[00:49:10] stuck the ball out and don bb knocked out yeah i was gonna say speaking of that play it left me
[00:49:17] breathless i'm gonna fight you you got the kansas city chiefs playing against the cleveland browns
[00:49:25] you know just because of james this is one of those games where the chiefs should win in a perfect world
[00:49:33] in a normal world the chiefs would win this game 38 to 10 but they don't beat anybody 38 to 10
[00:49:40] i think james is going to get loose in this game he's going to throw two picks
[00:49:46] but he might throw four touchdowns you know jerry judy's been coming on late he's been trying to show
[00:49:52] steve smith that he's steven smith senior that he is more than just a guy to the point where
[00:50:00] when steven a these are taylor swift songs residente so uh
[00:50:06] so so when steven smith senior sees jerry judy now he sees beautiful ghost oh my god
[00:50:15] so give me the chiefs even though they are beginning they're not the only team but they're
[00:50:22] beginning their three game and 10 day stretch i'll take kansas city because it's just
[00:50:32] i mean the only one team's beating them in his buffalo i do have a feeling that james is gonna
[00:50:37] get loose and that's why i want to pick them i just feel like kansas city kansas city knows how to
[00:50:46] stop the bleeding jesus 40 000 they know how to stop the bleeding and they won't like james could go
[00:50:55] out there and throw like a quick strike touchdown to jerry judy or in joku and kansas city is going to come
[00:51:01] out the next drive methodical move the ball maybe get a field goal maybe get a touchdown they're not
[00:51:07] going to come right back out and turn the ball over you know like something another team would do
[00:51:11] because they're pressing because they're favorite and they should beat this team and this team just
[00:51:15] you know i think andy reed you know the man at the top of the mountain man at the helm
[00:51:20] uh i think he'll keep them even killed a lot like myself and kansas city will pull out the victory
[00:51:29] it'll be low scoring it won't be it won't be like a crazy shootout i say 23 20 24 21 something like
[00:51:37] that yeah so apparently you know one mike podcast dropping those gems you know that uh he was trying
[00:51:43] to get that sweet for this panthers cowboy game 40 000 you know saying what temper doing ain't nobody
[00:51:51] paying that ain't nobody paying that but mr logical the jets are playing the jaguars
[00:51:59] the jets and aaron rogers are in a bad place where first of all they need closure
[00:52:07] because the jets probably feel hold on mr logical the jets probably feel that they're dancing with
[00:52:13] their hands tied so they're playing against the jacksonville jaguars coming off a unreal upset
[00:52:22] over the tennessee titans last week both of these teams are two and seven in one score games
[00:52:28] brian thomas is the one positive in this game because he's 11 catches and 15 yards away
[00:52:34] from breaking justin blackman's jacksonville jaguar rookie record so you know the jags though
[00:52:43] are 31 31st against the pass so basically their past defense mr logical is as cold as you
[00:52:53] so give me the jets
[00:52:58] uh this has no business being as fun as it is it it's yeah it's it's honestly it's pretty hilarious
[00:53:04] i'm looking at the 2025 protect projected draft order one through ten uh right now jets sit with the
[00:53:15] seventh overall pick jacksonville's at five using this metric i'm going to assume that jacksonville wants
[00:53:26] to be four three two or one so i'm gonna go ahead and get a jets this victory okay um
[00:53:34] i believe mccorkle starting anyway he is trevor is out for the season he doesn't seem to have that
[00:53:40] that genesee quad that you know like like i talked about the jordan love move i don't see
[00:53:46] mac jones making that kind of a swivel stepping up making a throw and that's the difference between
[00:53:52] some of these people don't know what swivel means of these upper echelon guys with the alabama guys who
[00:53:58] just happen to play quarterback i think i think that's why a lot of like backup quarterbacks make
[00:54:04] really really good coaches because they have they have all the knowledge just like they don't have
[00:54:10] like doug peterson didn't have brett farms arm like he was never gonna beat out brett for the position
[00:54:16] but it was like sitting there learning from him seeing it seeing it from a different vantage point
[00:54:22] that's all also why i think upper echelon players like tom brady would not make a good head coach
[00:54:29] michael jordan would make a good head coach lebron doesn't make what make i'm here to see it though
[00:54:33] they don't understand like what do you mean you didn't see that three plays early you didn't see
[00:54:40] that he was gonna slide here here he's like no man all i saw was the post and then i saw the linebacker
[00:54:47] underneath he's like you didn't see that safety that came off of this round no coach i didn't see
[00:54:52] that because i didn't go to 10 fucking super bowls right like i just i went to louisville like
[00:54:57] i'm a rookie like help me out but yeah so yeah yeah that's why i'm gonna i'm going with jacksonville
[00:55:04] to lose uh move themselves up get a better draft pick probably a guy like you know the heisman winner
[00:55:09] travis hunter yeah so if i had to say so myself mr logical i would say that the giants are
[00:55:16] down bad do you know the line on this game against the ravens this weekend don't look it up
[00:55:26] what you looking at over there i'm looking at my paper what you looking at over there what's the
[00:55:32] line on this game mr logical baltimore 13 and a half so it is so it is not 15 it's 16
[00:55:45] and i think the ravens cover and i'm gonna just leave it at 16 in the nfl game 16 in the nfl game
[00:55:52] and i'm gonna leave that i think i think vegas is saying hey you might want to fire you hey but your
[00:55:58] boy tommy devito is starting yo listen i love jersey i love it here but i don't don't love it against the
[00:56:06] baltimore ravens defense i love the story if he was playing if they played every game against the jets
[00:56:12] that'd be dope it'd be like you know the whole battle for the stadium i think i think that would
[00:56:18] be dope so if he played that game okay i'm rocking with it but the rest of these games it's it's unfair
[00:56:24] it's unfair what they're doing to it's unfair what the giants are doing to the fans it's unfair what they're
[00:56:31] doing to the players because you got guys out there really really trying to win yeah and it's
[00:56:39] obvious they're trying to lose yeah and speaking of which mike i'm glad that you said that because i get
[00:56:44] to say what i forgot to say the you know the ravens under john harbaugh are 13 and 3 coming off the buy
[00:56:51] but not that it matters for this week they were going to win regardless yeah you know what i mean so
[00:56:56] then you got the patriots going out to the desert and i must say mr logical that at the beginning of
[00:57:01] this season the cardinals were giant killers but over the last few weeks i could say that kyle
[00:57:07] mary is the smallest man who ever lived so drake may in the last eight games has more rushing yards
[00:57:17] than lamar jackson drake may is averaging 9.1 yards per carry running for his life the patriots are not
[00:57:27] going to win this game though um the cardinals are going to get right in this spot you know i am here
[00:57:33] for the matchup between marvin harrison jr and christian gonzalez though that matchup is going to go a long
[00:57:39] way to telling us who's going to win this game the problem is does kyle murray throw it to harrison does he
[00:57:47] like i think when you have a player like that for mcbride when you have a player like
[00:57:53] michael wilson matthew stafford and uh megatron mhm fucking calvin down there somewhere julio and matt
[00:58:02] ryan but julie like i see three panthers jerseys and i see one number 11 he down there somewhere i'm
[00:58:10] letting it fly justin jefferson jamar chase a lot of these teams and quarterback combination they just
[00:58:17] throw it up there i don't know if kyle murray just has that kind of trust like yo dog go get it
[00:58:22] like he got 18 out there somewhere i'm letting it fly i'm giving him a shot well marvin harrison jr
[00:58:29] gets open a lot and he tells kyle murray i'm right where you left me all right so then on monday night
[00:58:38] football we got two games this week yeah to include those dirty birds but we're going to start with
[00:58:47] minnesota hosting chicago remember they came they played a few weeks ago you okay over there
[00:58:54] i'm just sick of you all right keep going well you know caleb williams has had flashes this year you
[00:59:00] know he's you know caleb football as we call him you know he there's been ups and downs there's been
[00:59:08] ups and downs he's shown flashes to look like a really good quarterback not necessarily the number
[00:59:13] one pick and he's had moments where it was just what the hell are you doing so i guess you could
[00:59:18] say it's sad beautiful tragic you know so as they enter this game monday night football i think the
[00:59:26] staff just has too much too much commotion going on we talked about thomas brown right he was the
[00:59:34] passing game coordinator then he became the offensive coordinator two weeks after that he's the head coach
[00:59:40] it's just i don't know man like give me the vikings big yeah i'm taking the vikings uh i don't
[00:59:48] i don't see a path for chicago to be successful for the rest of the season i think they're probably
[00:59:56] packing it in because right now they're knights um if we if we look at guys eight if we look at teams
[01:00:02] eight through one in the draft order cincinnati at 10 i think cincinnati is going to win more games
[01:00:09] dallas at 12 is going to win games i think new wall is going to lose games so i think chicago is
[01:00:14] probably going to end up somewhere around like where they are in the draft right now it's between eight
[01:00:20] and nine uh and they're going to try to get another top pick and and rebuild hopefully they do i really
[01:00:30] was hoping this would be the year that chicago had that 4 000 yard pass and the quarterback could
[01:00:35] do for 30 touchdowns but after i watched the first couple of games and now no people like the guy came
[01:00:40] in in the comments pause calls in our uh comments saying like you know give him a chance you're only a rookie
[01:00:46] but it just his throws didn't look like i understand what's going on the throw was just off
[01:00:56] a lot of his throws look like i don't know what's going on but i think he's open let me get it over here
[01:01:02] and i felt like that week after week after week she's afraid about the same amount of games as anthony
[01:01:07] richardson ain't he yeah i mean like i said they they've gotten their fair share but it's like
[01:01:12] if you can't do it you can't do it there's nothing wrong with that you know so you know of course the
[01:01:18] other monday night game the falcons against the las vegas raiders kirk cousins hasn't thrown
[01:01:26] a touchdown since week nine he leads the league in interceptions but he wants everybody to know
[01:01:32] nobody no crime listen me and the falcons right now i got
[01:01:37] bad blood so the raiders the good news for kirk cousins the good news for kirk cousins is that the
[01:01:44] raiders have only forced eight turnovers this year so if he can keep a clean game
[01:01:51] the falcons should get out of here with an easy win and keep the pressure on tampa bay to win the
[01:01:57] division i'm gonna roll with the birds against my better judgment you know i just hope that uh
[01:02:02] brock bowers has a great game for the sake of my fantasy football team but this is a game where
[01:02:09] the falcons lack of a pass rush isn't going to affect anything it would i would hope not but what if they
[01:02:17] start desmond ritter and this is revenge game because you know they really got bad blood with
[01:02:22] oh oh oh oh if desmond ritter were to beat the falcons it would be better than revenge
[01:02:30] you set me up for that one yeah you set me up for that one
[01:02:35] i'm picking atlanta just because the raiders are two on 11.
[01:02:40] mm-hmm but i could see a scenario where kurt throws them too
[01:02:47] and they take it to the house uh i just i'm i'm at a complete loss as with any fan any fan anybody
[01:02:56] watching the falcons they're all probably thinking the same thing is like how do you have these weapons
[01:03:02] that you have on offense and it feels as if run routes to where they're not engaged it's like listen
[01:03:11] we we're not getting we're not fooling anybody so let's get the ball to them quick and it's like nah
[01:03:16] we're gonna run cow pissed on the sideline man a man with a number two corner i'm like okay cool
[01:03:20] that works right yeah so yeah i don't know if if if the raiders win it wouldn't surprise me
[01:03:28] okay all right well those are our picks for the week so moving on we're gonna get to travis hunter
[01:03:34] here in a little bit but for the time being we're going to talk about this here college football playoff
[01:03:39] and i have to admit mr logical when i heard that alabama wasn't going to get into the playoff
[01:03:46] it was sweeter than fiction
[01:03:51] so mr logical and i had a conversation we decided to attack this a different way
[01:03:56] tuesday tuesday we're going to make our college football playoff picks because the first game
[01:04:02] friday indiana at notre dame and then the rest of the games on saturday but for the time being
[01:04:08] we wanted to discuss which teams would we like to see win the title so you know we ranked them
[01:04:16] you know in the order of how we wanted this to play out so you want me to go first or you want to go
[01:04:23] first you go first all right so starting at number 12 you know saying like you know this is one that was
[01:04:32] hard because my 12 and 11 were very hard you know and i'm gonna try to get through this so i'm letting
[01:04:38] you know now that this is me trying so number 12 so this is the the last team that i want to win the
[01:04:48] national title the penn state mitten e lions so i'm from maryland man i was there for 77 to 7
[01:05:00] i was there for that you know like when you go back and look at it and i know i wasn't alive
[01:05:05] for a lot of this right you know but penn state has just kicked maryland all up and down
[01:05:12] all over pennsylvania and the state of maryland i like james franklin he was supposed to be the head
[01:05:19] coach of waiting in waiting at maryland but it just didn't work out that way and just in case you
[01:05:24] were wondering how bad they were kicking maryland's ass the all-time record is 44 3 and 1 that's how
[01:05:31] bad they've been kicking maryland's ass even though stefan diggs got a win against penn state
[01:05:37] you know number 11 pin i mean notre dame so this is why i had trouble you know because
[01:05:44] i hate both of these teams with beyond a passion but i will provide notre dame a state of grace
[01:05:53] because i do like jeremiah love you know i think he's one of the best running backs in the country
[01:05:59] you know indiana's going to be in for a long day next week which brings me to number 10
[01:06:03] ohio state i don't have beef with ohio state i just want the ryan day drama
[01:06:10] even though the ad has come out and said that you know he's not planning on firing ryan ryan day
[01:06:16] i'll believe it when i see it because you know boosters get to talking money gets to exchanging hands
[01:06:22] and you never know what happens after that then you go to uga you know saying georgia at number nine of the
[01:06:32] least teams that i would like to see win the national title you know if georgia won the national title
[01:06:38] this year mr logical it would make my tears ricochet
[01:06:44] you know we'll see if carson bett can get healthy enough to play i don't think he's going to play but
[01:06:50] we'll see number eight even though i live here i have to put texas on this list i hate the long
[01:06:57] horns i like tennessee's burnt orange better than theirs you know um even though steve sarkeesian may be
[01:07:06] a mastermind texas just hasn't beat anybody this year so on top of me not liking them
[01:07:14] they're not even they don't have a win that i could point to this year to say that they deserve the
[01:07:19] national title number seven oregon and that's where you get to the middle of it a little bit you know
[01:07:25] oregon i don't have beef with oregon but you know pick a uniform and stick to it damn it
[01:07:33] i'm the old guy you know get off my lawn and all that kind of stuff like that
[01:07:39] you know so basically if they wear those uniforms that they won in the big 10 championship game against
[01:07:45] penn state i want oregon to jump then fall all right number six cover your ears residente
[01:07:55] coming in at number six is clemson or as i like to call them my cousin clemens you know the reason
[01:08:03] that i have clemson so low on my want to win is because they're tied
[01:08:11] they are not written down you know they telling you my daughter listens to nothing but taylor swift and
[01:08:17] trolls all day um but clemson um the reason that i don't want clemson to win a national title
[01:08:25] is because they are tied with florida state and national titles and florida state started with a
[01:08:32] three to one lead and clemson came back and got two so i don't want clemson to pass florida state on the
[01:08:38] national title list you know say then number five you know even though he's probably going to finish
[01:08:45] second in the heisman race i just can't get behind boise state winning the national title
[01:08:50] you know saying like shout out to tony the savant and all i know boise is like a popping city now
[01:08:57] but you know but i just can't get with it i wouldn't mind it because you know a g5 team winning
[01:09:04] the championship would just be gorgeous but you know i just can't get with it you know it's not
[01:09:10] going to happen so i'm not going to act like it can tennessee you know number four i do like nico
[01:09:17] ee my ee my yama i believe that's how you say it you know tennessee had me scared this year because
[01:09:24] they went to overtime with lorna you know this year you know they beat alabama though so they're good
[01:09:32] with me you know because we've learned over the course of time that alabama is a false god but you
[01:09:39] know tennessee i love james pierce on their defensive line they're going to give ohio state
[01:09:44] problems next saturday make no mistake about it like ohio state does not have an easy first round
[01:09:50] game and i know oregon is sitting there in the second round going i gotta play one of these two
[01:09:54] mfs so you know just but tennessee's number four on my list number three smu so it's not just a texas
[01:10:03] hate thing it's not a dallas hate thing you know smu from jerald ford stadium the school of george w bush
[01:10:11] the smu mustangs have proven this year that they are fearless and they're going to have to be
[01:10:19] because they open up that happy valley next saturday and they have to keep their eyes open
[01:10:26] you know but i would love for smu to win just for the story i thought they were going to struggle in
[01:10:32] the acc this year coming from the g5 because the offensive and defensive lines weren't used to that type
[01:10:37] of attrition of course they went into the transfer portal but you never know how that's going to
[01:10:42] work so salute the rat rashly he should have been the head coach at miami instead of mario christopher
[01:10:48] who manages the clock worse than andy reed number two the indiana hoosiers you know kurt signetti or as
[01:10:57] you know re wasserman and andy staples call him sig nasty you know that's my guy he came from
[01:11:05] james madison representing lynchburg virginia you know had james madison on the verge you know of going
[01:11:12] undefeated last year but it just didn't work out you know indiana is one of those teams that
[01:11:19] they're g5 without being a g5 you know he brought in a lot of players from james madison they had the
[01:11:26] easy schedule so i can't you know get mad at them because they didn't pick the schedule you know as
[01:11:31] far as out of conference your uh out of conference schedule is set three to five years in advance
[01:11:37] usually sometimes more than that yeah you know saying yeah more than that so and i'm sure james
[01:11:43] madison is looking at kirk sandetti and saying all you had to do was stay you know which leads me to
[01:11:53] number one the team that i would like to see win the national title the most missed the logical and i
[01:11:58] don't know if you thought that i was going to say this but i'm gonna say arizona state you know
[01:12:04] saying if arizona state wins the national title that would prove that i deserve a place in this world
[01:12:12] you know because cam scatterboot came out last week he said that he was the best running back in
[01:12:17] the country nobody's talking about him i don't think he's the best running back in the country but he might
[01:12:22] be a top four running back great patriot next year yeah he's gonna make a good yeah great patriot
[01:12:29] new england patriot for sure but but if arizona state wins this national title i will sleep safe and
[01:12:38] sound oh my god but there you go that's my heart but that's my list of taylor swift but in order the
[01:12:45] teams that i listen to taylor swift i don't know there's many songs outside my head uh i'm going a little
[01:12:51] different just because i don't want peace i'm on problems uh okay i'm going i don't like a lot i
[01:13:02] don't think a lot of the top teams should should have gotten in i get that i get the the what they
[01:13:07] did is like basically you played your 12 game schedule you won 11 10 or 11 of them and you were
[01:13:13] in you're probably baptized in week eight or week nine you were pretty much locked in ohio state was
[01:13:18] locked in as soon as they got to 10 wins they were locked in like i knew that was going to be the
[01:13:23] case no matter what uh for some reason miami is cast it aside but it is what it is right so going from
[01:13:31] 12 to one penn state at 12 really is it just because you in jersey i just i wasn't impressed by their season
[01:13:43] uh i just don't i don't think they're i don't think their offense is dynamic enough to be like crown the
[01:13:50] champion for a team for for that caliber if you're sitting up here talking about about andy kodanicki
[01:13:56] yeah so my next one 11 is clemson i just think sliding in you know with the championship game with three
[01:14:04] losses i get it you won the championship but you had three losses before the game started
[01:14:09] just like you're at you're at nine wins were you a championship competitor before you won that toss
[01:14:14] up by three points against smu i don't really think so so everyone's talking about all the teams they
[01:14:19] felt shouldn't have got in i think that's one team that snuck in ohio state because i felt like they
[01:14:24] should have fallen out of contention just because they they should have saw that they don't have a big
[01:14:29] game quarterback right same way they felt about florida state last year i just wasn't a big fan of
[01:14:34] ohio state i felt like they should have they i don't think they should have been an eight i think
[01:14:39] they should have been on the fringe and they should have been one of the first teams out just because
[01:14:43] you lost you lost at home to a team that's that's had a poor season i guess a rivalry game is whatever
[01:14:52] but miami lost to a team that was better and they they were sent to you know some castaway bowl
[01:15:00] somewhere on some island uh tennessee another team that just kind of just kind of scared skated
[01:15:07] through with the strength of their conference i don't really think they've been that dominant they
[01:15:11] haven't really shown much uh notre dame just because i'm just i don't want notre dame to win i'm just
[01:15:16] kind of sick of the bullshit yeah plus i hate leprechauns too that they lost northern illinois
[01:15:23] georgia the quarterback is out uh they lost alabama carson beck was when he was out there he was throwing
[01:15:32] the ball to the other team a lot and people just kind of acting like like they're treating like it's
[01:15:36] the the stetson bennett georgia bulldogs it's not uh oregon just because it's just oregon i'm just figuring
[01:15:46] like you're always going to be flashy is cool but you played a super caked up schedule
[01:15:52] um with the exception of the ohio state and the penn state game like i said i think offensively
[01:15:58] they're better they were better team than penn state and penn state still put up 37 points uh
[01:16:04] texas schedule is kind of weak i like arch manning so this i'm starting to lean more towards
[01:16:09] teams i would like to see when it uh i know this quinn years chat talking about transferring to another
[01:16:14] big 10 school for four million dollars if you think about the nfl if you're gonna go
[01:16:20] 11 12 or 13 in the draft you're probably on a better team so going back to college for four years
[01:16:27] just to go to a team that might fire their coach and gm halfway through your second year sign up if you
[01:16:35] want but if you want to go to oregon next year or if you want to go back to ohio state i don't know
[01:16:40] if you can i don't know how transfer rules work oregon makes sense i mean they had old ass bo nicks last
[01:16:46] year old ass dylan gabriel this year they're gonna throw a bunch of nike money at him so like listen
[01:16:51] if you want to do it i get it it's not like he's cam uh cam rises the age and he's bad old he's like
[01:16:58] he's only still a young kid so if you want to do one more year in oregon and be the big man on campus
[01:17:03] i'm with it but i like to see texas yeah i like that uh boise state i know jenty everyone's gonna make
[01:17:10] the argument for him to be when the heisman he didn't win he won the dope walker and the maxwell
[01:17:15] so i would like to see his season continue i don't think he's gonna win the heisman
[01:17:19] um i think travis hunter kind of has that locked up because travis was dynamic on both sides of the
[01:17:24] ball i think if he was an average wide receiver 500 yards four or five touchdowns i think jenty season
[01:17:32] would have gotten a little bit more shine because if you look at it mathematically travis hunter was
[01:17:38] you know top five top six both sides of the ball playing a lot of stuff we'll get to it we'll get
[01:17:44] to it yeah we'll get to that yeah yeah that conversation occurs uh but i would like to see
[01:17:50] the season continue i like scataboo in uh arizona state i like the moxie i like the when he said when
[01:17:55] i get drafted that team's gonna get a dog i like that kind of energy i like the fact that it's like your
[01:18:01] standard you know like do i really want to see oregon versus georgia in the national championship game
[01:18:05] we're gonna get a lot of good matchups so people make it seem as if you're not gonna get quality
[01:18:11] football because you don't get a georgia oregon final it's just you're not watching the games to
[01:18:19] watch the game this ohio state tennessee matchup is going to be a dope game texas clemson is going to
[01:18:24] be a good game i think smu penn state's gonna be a good game notre dame and indiana i think it's
[01:18:33] dope moving from a smaller conference to hold on mike we'll get there we'll get there get there and
[01:18:41] we'll get there you know sir but i think what you just said is a glitch
[01:18:48] so smu and i like indiana i like indiana i think that'd be dope if they made the run all the way
[01:18:54] through i know we don't they don't like the cinderellas in football they like them in basketball
[01:18:58] they don't like them in football i think a guy coming from a small smaller conference gmu smaller
[01:19:04] school bringing those players to a bigger school and then essentially running the table in the
[01:19:10] the prime level upper echelon de facto tournament that they want to have because they really want sec
[01:19:18] big 10 and one big 12 school in these 12 like that's what the whole country that's all we wanted for
[01:19:26] this this uh this impromptu survey that was going around yeah i'm sure like the fact that i'm
[01:19:30] coming through making it all the way through the and i think that'd be yeah i'm sure smu is tough but
[01:19:36] you know they kind of feel like who's afraid of little old me
[01:19:43] but like i said i i i want i wanted to be flipped upside down just because it won't affect georgia clemson
[01:19:51] texas all these other teams next year if the g5 schools or if uh the smaller big 10 school like
[01:20:01] indiana like the smaller program if they make it far if indiana smu and boys they all get blown out
[01:20:08] next year it's gonna be nine and three old miss nine and three bama nine and three missouri it's
[01:20:16] gonna be all these other teams and because last year we put these other teams in and they just
[01:20:20] couldn't compete and i just i don't want that to happen because that's like we're kind of living in
[01:20:25] the post because as first it was hawaii remember hawaii got blown out but i believe by georgia
[01:20:30] so when they got even though we had all the other team other upsets before that we had the
[01:20:36] board you stay be oklahoma see you over wisconsin yes we we had uh granted it was middle 2000s utah over
[01:20:44] pittsburgh so we had all the bammer utah over bammer so we had these games but as soon as they had a
[01:20:50] couple of games where they're like oh they didn't belong and then you have michigan state when they
[01:20:55] got beat by alabama when they were in that four team it's like see they shouldn't even been in it
[01:21:00] and it started to shape this whole thing where it's like you're only getting two conferences maybe three
[01:21:05] but you're getting two teams from the same conference and i want to see these other teams
[01:21:11] from former pac-12 and former aac conference conference usa teams former fcs coaches moving up
[01:21:20] and getting to the semifinals and championship rounds i think is i think it's better for college football
[01:21:27] i believe all the movement with transfer portals and everything else i think it serves to benefit
[01:21:32] the product if you allow it to benefit the product instead of bitching about it go out there and go get
[01:21:38] quinn yours oregon is reloading oregon had both nicks last year dylan gary this year if they're
[01:21:44] really putting out a bid to get quinn yours then texas is fine because last year they brought in arch
[01:21:49] manning if oregon gets if oregon gets quinn yours i'm just going to say that they're in wonderland
[01:21:59] so that's my order penn state clemson ohio state tennessee notre dame georgia
[01:22:03] oregon texas boy state in top three arizona state smu indiana okay there you go that's our list and
[01:22:11] then like i said tuesday we will be making actual picks on these first round playoff games and we
[01:22:17] might even walk through our bracket and pick a national champion and all that so but for the time
[01:22:22] being i keep hearing the name travis hunter so much that i just feel haunted and even though i feel he
[01:22:36] deserved the boletnikoff i feel like he probably deserved to at least be in the thorpe conversation
[01:22:44] he won the bid the bid narek and i said that is a hoax so travis hunter has been elite on both sides
[01:22:55] of the football i know mike just said he thinks that travis hunter is an average corner but i will push
[01:23:02] back with this if travis hunter was an average corner more quarterbacks would throw at him
[01:23:11] you know so it is odd that he won the best defensive player in college football award
[01:23:18] without being nominated for the award of best at his position now i don't believe that he was the best
[01:23:25] player the best defensive player in college football i think that was that was just one of those things
[01:23:31] where he played both sides of the ball and in the society that we live live in we have to exaggerate a
[01:23:41] little bit like he couldn't just win the heisman he couldn't just win the boletnikoff you had to give
[01:23:48] him the best defensive player in the country even though i feel that award is more apropos for someone
[01:23:55] like abdul carter at penn state somebody like caleb downs at ohio state somebody like higgins out of
[01:24:01] iowa somebody like jahadi brown i believe that's how you baron i believe that's how you say it from texas
[01:24:10] so like so even though you know um i'm not trying to say that he's not an impactful defensive player
[01:24:20] i just don't think he's the best defensive player he will johnson is better mike but the problem is
[01:24:26] will johnson missed what the last five games of the season so you know from that standpoint and i brought
[01:24:33] up jair the other day you know who might end up being better than will johnson you know say even
[01:24:39] though obviously that doesn't apply for this year so i'm sure if it was up to colorado fans they would
[01:24:46] tell travis hunter stay stay stay okay so there is a couple of things the bronco nagurski trophy
[01:24:58] it's another best defensive player award i'm trying to break down the difference so the bronco
[01:25:06] nagurski awards best defensive player in college football presented by the charlotte touchdown and
[01:25:11] football writers of association of america oh this year was kyle canard from south carolina
[01:25:18] that ain't very so can you read that i can read yeah the 2024 game logs for
[01:25:25] that's travis right yeah this is travis hunter that i pulled up for the bullet in the cough
[01:25:30] so that's one thing so the bronco nagurski went to calcanard from south carolina
[01:25:39] deserved he deserved that and the thing with travis oh there we go there we go okay
[01:25:45] he was targeted as a wide receiver like 119 times right as a corner they only threw at him 39 times
[01:25:59] so he got he has four interceptions forced fumble he only got targeted 39 times and then he came out and
[01:26:07] he was in top five of the wide receiver categories for every major wide receiver category so if you're
[01:26:14] yeah so yeah so he ended up he ended up fifth in receptions you know sixth in yards second in touchdowns
[01:26:23] and 16 yards per game and he's not a wide receiver like you know that wasn't his position
[01:26:32] that's what his position and other guys on colorado were getting targeted as well western was your your
[01:26:38] speed deep threat shepherd was your big threat they were getting the running backs so it wasn't like he
[01:26:43] was it was a one-man band and he was being fed the ball by shador yeah don't forget horn and the horn
[01:26:50] so it's like they had
[01:26:56] so if you are of the elk that you know what what he did was average and what he did was subpar like
[01:27:03] dallas mike seems to be and i get it everyone has their their opinion i think what he was doing was
[01:27:08] elite because the numbers bear out that way it wasn't as if because they could but he also had highlight
[01:27:16] catches too highlight catches you know big play catches big plays in big games forced fumbles at the goal
[01:27:24] you know said but but i feel like even though he's not a wide receiver like if he wouldn't have won the
[01:27:32] bullet in the cough it would have been like snow on a beach
[01:27:38] you know but looking at his log here so we got the log pulled up here
[01:27:42] you know so obviously he started off the season with a bang against north dakota state
[01:27:49] but the nebraska game he didn't score a touchdown
[01:27:52] but he had 10 catches for 110 yards and they lost that game 28 to 10 so you could argue that he was the
[01:28:00] bright spot in that game outside of you know shador threw the pick six you know that changed the course of
[01:28:06] the game you know um going down the list further you know we ain't going to go through game by game but
[01:28:13] the numbers are on the screen you know look at what he did against baylor so not only did he have
[01:28:18] seven catches for 130 yards and look at that average 18.6 defensively he had the fumble in overtime
[01:28:27] the forced fumble in overtime that secured the game like he had a very very he had 92 catches and
[01:28:38] 1150 yards and 14 touchdowns at wide receiver and also played corner and
[01:28:45] and had 32 tackles and four interceptions it's like he was only targeted 39 times he was still playing
[01:28:53] elite on both sides of the ball that's hard to argue against if he's not your favorite corner
[01:28:59] i get that it's 130 something teams there's going to be better corners but there's no one who played
[01:29:06] corner that was also better than him at wide receiver and there's only a handful of wide receivers
[01:29:12] that were better than him at wide receiver see mike you're doing that thing like everybody has a bad game
[01:29:18] you know what i mean like you know yes uh rayola did carve up colorado you know sam but everybody gets
[01:29:27] to have a bad game you know we've seen some great players have bad games you know i'm sure jerry rice
[01:29:33] got the better of dion at times and you know andre rosin had some plays against dion it happens like
[01:29:39] these are these are other great players that they're going up against yeah these are top players but like
[01:29:45] we're looking at one guy one player top but he also didn't have 92 catches and 14 touchdowns
[01:29:55] yeah like charles woodson's dope he's in the hall of fame charles woodson won that heisman and i'm not
[01:30:00] saying he didn't deserve it per se even though peyton probably deserved it ill let me wash my mouth out
[01:30:06] with soap but yeah charles woodson got that heisman because of that punt return against ohio state
[01:30:12] basically yeah those seasons like those seasons and you know what and when you saw that mike and
[01:30:19] you even realized that you were like i'm mr perfectly fine so like once again this these awards there's
[01:30:28] so many players in college and for them to narrow so many of these awards down to three or four players
[01:30:34] it's gonna be some guys left out it does not take away from uh nick nash's season as a wide receiver
[01:30:41] i think you'll still get looked at by you're in my mind look at that you know so it's just a matter of
[01:30:47] and and mike i got something for you in about five minutes so stay with me i got something for you
[01:30:53] all right so so let's look at nick nash you know what i mean like nick nash was number one
[01:30:58] in basically every wide receiver category whether it was yards whether it was receptions whether it was
[01:31:06] touchdowns touchdowns so on so forth but looking at the the data here you know what i mean and i'm not
[01:31:12] trying to turn this into a box score thing per se but you know when you're comparing people we got
[01:31:17] to look at this stuff so if you look at this here you see that 10 for 170 two touchdowns that's an fcs team
[01:31:27] you know you see this 17 for 225 against kennesaw state with three touchdowns
[01:31:32] that's a team in their very first year of fbs so basically
[01:31:39] a fcs team you know against washington state here he had 16 152 two touchdowns
[01:31:48] washington state that lost to wyoming and new mexico by the way
[01:31:53] you know so keeping it going as we come down you know he had a good game against boise nine for 126
[01:31:59] and a touchdown now mr logical i know what mr logical looking at he's looking at this game
[01:32:04] against unlv where he had one catch for nine yards but i will have you know mr logical that was a
[01:32:11] torrential downpour and their quarterback went four for 22 in that game so before you jump on that i'm
[01:32:17] just going to provide that context yeah like i said i didn't see the game i was going to assume that he
[01:32:22] didn't finish the game no no it was it was a it was like literally like one of those rainstorms that
[01:32:27] had fog and you know all that kind of like like i said it wasn't a wire receiver friendly and on a
[01:32:35] separate note how do you not bench your quarterback to allow him to get to the point of going four for
[01:32:41] 22 yeah because at some point he probably was like three for 16 because if i was the head coach
[01:32:48] because if i was the head coach i'm telling you i would be seeing red you know but uh at that point
[01:32:54] you just run the ball but but you know so so so so even though he has these numbers which look great
[01:33:00] you know 1382 yards when you look at the majority of his great games besides the boise game a lot of
[01:33:08] them came against subpar competition and from that standpoint and and this is where you get hypocritical
[01:33:15] right because ashton gentry is a heisman candidate and he played a lot of these same teams that nick nash
[01:33:22] played do with that what you will i'll leave it at that you know what i mean but then on the other
[01:33:29] hand you got the person that could have won the bullet in the cough now obviously nick nash is first in
[01:33:36] every category so if he so even though if he would have won we would have brought up the competition
[01:33:42] we would have brought up how he had those games against those great teams a lot of these people
[01:33:47] are casuals that don't watch the games so you would have just saw that somebody was first in every
[01:33:53] category and you would have been like yo that makes sense you know what i mean that's why we wanted to
[01:33:57] provide the context but keeping it going real quick you got ted a row of mcmillan who you know i know
[01:34:04] cups you know saying has been ain't angling for the patriots to draft you got ted a row of mcmillian
[01:34:12] mcmillan and as we look at it here sorry i think the rum is starting to hit you know
[01:34:19] the slurring is happening but uh you got ted a row of mcmillan here you can see he started off the
[01:34:24] season with a bang you know that new mexico state team that beat washington state 10 catches 304
[01:34:31] four touchdowns 30 yard average 30 yard average you know what i mean bronco mendenhall now the head
[01:34:40] coach at utah state by the way you know um you know so that's what he started off the season as so he
[01:34:46] was the leader but then if you look against northern arizona two four eleven not so much against a great
[01:34:55] i mean against a subpar fcs team northern arizona is not even a good fcs team you know you got the game
[01:35:02] against kansas state where he made up for it they went to utah and won which a lot of people do not do
[01:35:09] but he didn't necessarily have the best game looking at these numbers yeah you know texas tech byu look
[01:35:16] at this game against colorado hey mike i wonder who was defending him in that colorado game
[01:35:29] then you go west virginia right 10 for 202 you're like damn and then he didn't play bad the rest of
[01:35:36] the season he had some games you know and he finished second in receiving yards you know in
[01:35:42] the nation this year so ted a row of mcmillan mcmillan could have won the bullet in the cough as well but
[01:35:50] everything encompassing i'm not even saying that travis hunter and i'm done with the taylor swift
[01:35:56] stuff now but you know i'm too drunk now but you know sad but but as i look at this and you know
[01:36:05] we look at travis hunter like i said he deserved the bullet in the cough i'm not saying that he's head
[01:36:11] and shoulders above the rest of the wide receivers but when we go back to last year and look at marvin
[01:36:17] harrison jr for example he wasn't top 10 in a lot of these categories yeah he was 40th in a couple
[01:36:24] of categories yeah 43rd i believe in yards and he won the bullet in the cough one because oh i already
[01:36:30] done fucked up you know because his name is harvin marison jr too late you know what i mean he had
[01:36:37] the big game against penn state that ohio state might not win without his presence but when you go there
[01:36:44] it's just one of those things but mike this is what i got for you mr logical and i was talking about
[01:36:50] this we expect travis hunter to win the heisman tomorrow i would you're an asshole mike you know
[01:36:59] what i'm saying like i wouldn't uh i wouldn't be upset if ashton genti won the heisman you know what i
[01:37:07] mean he is like this season that he's had so far is the fourth all-time yardage running back in the
[01:37:14] season the problem is historical yes the problem though the problem though barry sanders broke the
[01:37:21] record in 11 games and the bowl game stats didn't count back then so you know what i mean so if he does
[01:37:27] break the record in this playoff game when you really look at it it's going to be three games more than it
[01:37:34] took barry to break the record so i don't want to knock him breaking the record is breaking the record
[01:37:40] you know what i mean and we he also if you go back and look at it there's i believe it was eight
[01:37:47] quarters that he sat out so you know he might have broke the record if he had played those eight quarters
[01:37:53] but boise was beaten on some subpar competition but mike this is what i got for you so mr logical and i
[01:38:00] were talking about this before we came on because mr logical tried to play me and be like yo i was
[01:38:07] arguing with some people that said that that penn state tight end oh i didn't say i was arguing i said
[01:38:13] i was in a i mean one of my groups somebody had mentioned that tyler warren should have been
[01:38:20] considered for the highest right and it was a few weeks ago and i checked it because first when they
[01:38:25] said the name i was thinking they were talking about the michigan quarterback i was like that
[01:38:29] can't be right oh davis warren yeah i was like yeah can't be so i was thinking or mike and ernie davis
[01:38:35] yeah so then i that's when i checked and was like okay they're talking about this and you're gonna make
[01:38:43] a great case why he should have been invited and i feel like he should have been invited because
[01:38:47] this is the penn state receiving numbers for this season now if you remember against usc penn state
[01:38:55] was down 20 to 6 at halftime he finished that game with 14 catches 227 yards had a rushing touchdown in
[01:39:02] that game but when i look at this right and i've already done the math so just kick it with me right
[01:39:08] here so tyler warren had 88 receptions on the season if you combine all just the receivers
[01:39:17] not the running backs not the running backs just the receivers on penn state they have totaled 92
[01:39:24] catches to his 88 he has 1062 yards the next wide receiver is 324 yards behind him and he's a tight end
[01:39:37] he's a tight end you know but then taking it even further than that when you look at it
[01:39:44] you know penn state's offense had a running back as their third leading receiver here in receptions
[01:39:51] at least but when you look at harrison wallace here who was penn state's best receiver he had 39 catches
[01:39:57] their next leading wide receiver had 19 catches so on top of that mike this is the part that you'll love
[01:40:08] because you'd be hating you know saying the penn state wide receivers had 92 catches he had 88
[01:40:15] travis hunter had 80 or 92 catches so he had four catches less than travis hunter had as the heisman
[01:40:27] probably winner the leader of the pack his team combined wide receivers had 92 receptions but yet he
[01:40:35] didn't get an invite to new york where they do that at and that's the problem with these awards because
[01:40:42] i used to tell mr logical about the nba how i thought that chris paul deserved the mvp or two
[01:40:48] because of the impact that he had on teams but he didn't have the numbers to back it up in this
[01:40:54] situation with steve nash because steve nash filled with the right playoff bag after they gave him the
[01:40:59] so they were like nah we're just gonna go most outstanding player in this category top but in this
[01:41:05] situation but in this situation that doesn't apply because he has four less catches than the guy that
[01:41:13] we think is going to win the heisman so so you can't even say oh he only had 60 catches whereas these
[01:41:21] other guys are in the 90s or whatever he's literally four away yeah he had over 1100 yards from scrimmage
[01:41:27] and 10 total touchdowns if penn state's offense it's a campaign we all know it's a campaign
[01:41:43] at the beginning of the season there's a few there's a few names that get thrown around preseason
[01:41:50] it also depends on the the popularity of your coach your your your program if you're an alabama quarterback
[01:41:58] you're probably going to be looked at as a preseason heisman favorite if you're ohio state
[01:42:02] skilled position player if you are i would say oregon um but there's
[01:42:13] there's a preseason campaign that the player who's being height or broad your forefront has to deliver
[01:42:23] early to get the train out of the station it's like everyone like every train is in this every train is
[01:42:30] in the station for all these top skill position players you have to capture the excitement of the
[01:42:38] fan beast in august and september tmac with that 10 for 304 if he would have backed that up with a couple
[01:42:47] of weeks of eight catches for 160 or 170 and he's sitting at around 600 yards after three weeks
[01:42:57] then that conversation starts his train's out of the station travis hunter had big catches almost
[01:43:06] impossible catches very early on he had the forced fumble against baylor believe that was like week two
[01:43:13] or three so his training got going you gotta have the games you gotta have multiple games early on the
[01:43:21] season to get the momentum going after that it's on you because a lot of guys catch like genti same thing
[01:43:28] he started off hot he probably had a couple of games where i think he he barely cracked 100 i think the
[01:43:34] game against unlv either he went from like 37 carries under 27 yards or something like that but by that
[01:43:40] point he had already had 13 touchdowns and a thousand yards at the four games and it was like yo
[01:43:46] are you guys seeing these numbers so from that point on it just was like just gaining momentum
[01:43:52] some guys who come on late in the heisman it just it just doesn't work out that way
[01:43:56] shador had good numbers but the loss goes to the quarterback so having the loss and the pick six
[01:44:03] against the brassica slowed his like stopped to stop the momentum for him right by the time it was
[01:44:09] already spun back up travis had already his his train already left the station this is getting on my
[01:44:16] nerves i think if you keep going down because it's like a website does that but that's and that's all
[01:44:26] it is it's not a i don't think it's an indictment on the talent of these players i think it's just a matter
[01:44:32] of only certain number of players can go you generally like i said i said when we first had
[01:44:39] our heisman conversation dylan gabriel is probably going to get invited because he's going to be the
[01:44:44] quarterback of an undefeated oregon team i personally thought it was going to be i thought it was going to
[01:44:50] be travis ashton and cam ward those are the three guys i figured you're going to take because this
[01:45:00] year is clearly the the dual threat player and the running back were leading the heisman for most of
[01:45:07] the year i figured if they put a quarterback in they were going to put a quarterback in that led
[01:45:12] that had the most astronomical numbers i thought cam ward's number was going to be 44 45 touchdowns
[01:45:19] it was going to be like some crazy because miami's offense was so just so explosive i thought he was
[01:45:24] going to have these these gaudy numbers he was okay cool we're going to give the one quarterback
[01:45:28] i appreciate it mike you know like dynamic players well as you can see you know week one set it off for
[01:45:34] ashton jenty yeah like i said so you're looking at you're looking at what's that nine 13 touchdowns
[01:45:42] after so before october 1st the conversation was did you hear about this guy at boys state he has a
[01:45:51] thousand was it was that two ground up not 200 nearly a thousand yards and 13 touchdowns
[01:45:59] and seeing that's the thing right and seeing that's the thing right they obviously portland
[01:46:03] state is the fcs team so they jumped on them 11 carries a 127 yards you know like if he plays that
[01:46:12] whole game he might already have the record yeah he's going for he's going for another two
[01:46:18] we'll get him to we'll get him look against oregon right against oregon look what he did
[01:46:26] you know and then to top it off oregon needed a punt return and a kickoff return to win that game
[01:46:32] and even his worst game of the season he still had 128 yards against unlv even though
[01:46:38] it was on 33 carries but look at some of these yards per you know his averages 13.4 7.7
[01:46:46] 11.5 10 14.3 7 you know he's got like when you got this 3.9 that was week seven so his the okay so
[01:46:57] he had 217 yards seven yards a carry against hawaii so it's not that he had 14.3 the week before and
[01:47:05] only seven he had 217 so like the momentum kept going so by the time he had that by the time he had that
[01:47:12] 3.9 the momentum was him or travis so now it was the two of them separated themselves from everybody
[01:47:19] else and i figured only one quarterback was going to be able to keep themselves in it because those
[01:47:24] two clearly have separated themselves as the two most outstanding players and then my last got his team
[01:47:30] into the uh was called the basketball playoff and then the other guy was part of a team you know he
[01:47:36] was part of the turnaround of a program he came with the coach to turn around a program and then my last
[01:47:41] thing real quick you know about tyler warren you know you look at this you know even though it was
[01:47:48] only 23 attempts we have to take into account that he's a tight end he's a tight end he averaged eight
[01:47:56] yards per carry 8.3 yards per carry and had four rushing touchdowns so on top of all his receiving
[01:48:04] stats and everything yeah now look at now let me um do this real quick so look at this you know if
[01:48:16] you just look at yards from scrimmage this season it's ridiculous he's a tight end you know i think
[01:48:27] ashton jimpy ends up in dallas next year you know um but um but yeah so you know that's you know from
[01:48:34] that standpoint it's just one of those things where like numbers don't always tell the story
[01:48:39] but you have to look within the numbers to find the story so when you look at somebody like tyler
[01:48:46] warren he is penn state's offense you know what i mean for lack of better words so even though his
[01:48:53] numbers might not eye pop you where you're just like oh my goodness he dominated everybody
[01:48:57] and you know but when you look at him relative to his team and he did win the mackey award so i don't
[01:49:04] want to make it sound like he got snubbed and all that stuff he did win the mackey award but
[01:49:09] the best titan award but it just goes back to sometimes you look at numbers but it's inconsistent
[01:49:18] it's inconsistent because when you look at it you look at somebody like shador sanders right
[01:49:25] he's third in passing yards you know on the fifth fifth most attempts you know 35 touchdowns eight
[01:49:32] interceptions third in passing yards per game second in total completions first in completion
[01:49:38] percentage so if travis hunter is there the guy that got him the ball should be there because he was
[01:49:45] obviously getting the ball to other people besides travis hunter you know if we want to go that route
[01:49:51] you know because i mean cam ward had xavier restrepo you know but cam ward also had things that
[01:49:58] shador didn't have he had mark fletcher and damian martinez in the backfield whereas colorado
[01:50:05] had decent games but they never really got their running game off the ground yeah their running backs
[01:50:10] made timely plays but it wasn't a you couldn't bank on one guy being your 15 to 20 carry guy
[01:50:19] sprinkling with some other guys they were doing a lot of running back by committee and they were like
[01:50:22] three four deep in that committee right so so that's where you know when i look at this
[01:50:28] it's kind of hard because like we need to i think we need to redefine what the heisman is because i don't
[01:50:36] think we do i think we do but they understand it i think we understand completely what the heisman is
[01:50:43] if ashton jenty did not have the year that he had if travis hunter did not have the year that he had
[01:50:50] the heisman finalists would be shadora cam ward and dylan gabriel all quarterbacks yeah we but we
[01:50:57] felt that same with the mvp but like i said in college football there is still a major award for
[01:51:04] the best players at multiple positions so their opportunity to win the awards yet there's less
[01:51:10] opportunity for a tight end to win the heisman so here's a question real quick side this is
[01:51:16] yeah this is ultimate side note what do you think if the nfl had awards by position and not just
[01:51:26] um like it's not enough players none of teams okay you're just you're basically you're
[01:51:35] if you look at if we look at running back stats right now because i was thinking about that before
[01:51:39] we had this conversation like they just got to be honest about the mvp and not keep giving it to
[01:51:44] quarterbacks see the nfl has a has a real metrics that they can use because of teams playing teams from
[01:51:52] other conferences teams playing teams from other divisions you have multiple layers of data that says
[01:51:59] why derrick henry and saquon what they're doing comparative to other running backs because we can look
[01:52:07] at like i said joe burrow has more passing yards and touchdowns than josh allen there's not a running
[01:52:13] back on a losing team that has more yards than derrick henry or saquon barkley right or more of an impact
[01:52:22] because these guys these teams are winning these guys are this many yards there's a there's more that
[01:52:29] the nfl running back impacts because when that running backs not fair there's a substantial drop
[01:52:36] off right like saquon and then gangwell if you had a couple of games without saquon i don't think game
[01:52:43] was going for 300 yards from scrimmage against the rams same defensive front same play calls i don't
[01:52:50] think he's getting you 300 yards i don't think he's gonna give you 70 yards i don't think he's busting two
[01:52:55] 70 yard touchdowns you know so it's like there's a difference between the starting guy so like having
[01:53:01] multiple layers of wards nfl there's only two two or three running backs right now like you throw josh
[01:53:07] jacobs in because i think he's nearing a thousand yards but he's kind of being like it's running
[01:53:13] concurrently with these two guys running for over 1300 so like your running back awards would be derrick
[01:53:19] henry saquon and josh jacobs okay well you can eliminate that on the back they just got to be honest
[01:53:24] with the mvp award it's not always just a guy because it's the fact those arguments that people
[01:53:30] make and it's the same thing he touches the ball every play i'm like yeah but other guys make the
[01:53:35] play happen quarterbacks passing yards don't constitute him throwing the ball to himself
[01:53:41] all right here you go so yeah that's that's probably like yeah i can see it all right there you go
[01:53:48] so yeah if you look at the top let me let me zoom it a little more now i can see it's clear
[01:53:54] well i'm trying to make it so that the people watching can see it too
[01:53:57] oh look i mean i'm looking on laptop i have perfect vision shout out to my pops mom but yeah so there
[01:54:05] you go like um you know and look at kyron williams back up there there's josh jacobs like you said
[01:54:11] the the impressive thing to me on this list is my guy you know the real reggie bush jameer gibbs
[01:54:18] fifth in the league in rushing and he's the backup saquon with the 11 touchdowns just because
[01:54:26] the push push is taking yeah so let's look at some numbers here so you know let's look at these
[01:54:31] attempts too so let's see uh-oh hold on there we go so and you know what i mean like you got somebody
[01:54:38] so this is where it gets impressive right saquon has 1623 yards on 266 carries
[01:54:46] kyron williams on 280 carries has 500 yards you know said those are the conversations that
[01:54:56] we gotta have i like kyron williams too mike but this but this conversation is the conversation that says
[01:55:03] this is why saquon should be leading mvp it shouldn't be a cop-out to continue to give the
[01:55:09] mvp to quarterbacks and it's the same way genti and hunter this year are proving that you shouldn't
[01:55:15] just give the heisman or best player in the country to the quarterback we get it the quarterback
[01:55:21] is going to get a lot of shine they touch the ball a lot they get a lot of blame if you play poorly
[01:55:26] at quarterback then that's going to be your problem absolutely you can you can impact the game by playing
[01:55:33] i can hold up wait hold up wait oh never mind well it's because i sorted it i sorted it by
[01:55:44] 20 yard runs but i'm trying to get the thing to move over but i can't get it to move over right now
[01:55:49] yeah you know but yeah so um that's where you get into these um nuanced conversations because josh
[01:55:57] allen you know as you know a lot of people's mvp leader right now isn't going to have that much more
[01:56:06] passing yards than lamar jackson or then joe burrow or you know obviously he doesn't have more than joe
[01:56:12] burrow but you know but the quarterbacks are going to be lumped together where saquon has obviously
[01:56:18] separated himself from the pack because even when you look at 20 yard runs he's second in that behind
[01:56:23] derrick camry and he's only one behind when you look at 40 yard rushes he's first by three
[01:56:31] you know what i mean like so you know that's where you look at it and you're like this isn't even close
[01:56:37] as far as what saquon is doing against his position so that's when you get into the conversation of
[01:56:44] whatever quarterback you want to put in the conversation what are they doing relative to
[01:56:50] their position versus what saquon is doing relative to his competition because if it's four guys in
[01:56:56] if there's five guys in nfl right now that have three thousand passing yards and 27 28 touchdowns
[01:57:07] than what josh allen is doing comparable to his peers it's not that exceptional considering that
[01:57:14] there is a guy definitively that i know for sure has more touchdowns than 700 more yards
[01:57:19] i'm not saying josh allen season isn't mvp because of his value to his team but the mvp isn't the value
[01:57:27] specifically to your team because if that's the case it wouldn't be a stats thing it would just be your
[01:57:32] presence right but what saquon is doing compared to the running backs compared to how the position
[01:57:38] has been treated and considering you know philly's gonna run the ball because jaylen hirsch doesn't
[01:57:44] throw 45 times a game you know they're gonna run the ball you know how they're gonna line up you
[01:57:50] know what the play calls are you know they're gonna write this guy from this and that was my point about
[01:57:53] the door still and he still jumps on top of you and gets you know that 1600 yards right and that was
[01:58:00] my point about shadur where colorado's run game is just the next level above non-existent and you know
[01:58:09] so you know what's coming and you know who it's coming to at that you know i'm saying and you still
[01:58:14] can't stop it so so that's why like when you look at these conversations and when i look at people like
[01:58:20] i said like chris paul you know um we've gone to this position list basketball so you still have people
[01:58:28] like trey young who leads the league in assists you know but what is his impact on winning and and i know
[01:58:38] the hawks don't have the greatest team around him per se they got my they have my most improved
[01:58:45] player jalen johnson on their roster but when you go back and look at say the new orleans hornets
[01:58:51] you know we didn't know what davis david west was at the time you know morris peterson who we only knew
[01:58:59] from college you know pejo was there you know you had hilton armstrong and people like that but chris
[01:59:06] paul took kobe in them to six that year you know what i mean and they beat the spurs in a playoff game
[01:59:13] by like 50 so you know what i mean so so it's just one of those things where the numbers guide you to a
[01:59:20] decision but the numbers don't shouldn't make the decision yeah as far as like these league awards
[01:59:27] and the numbers and your impact chris paul's impact is negotiating with his agent and team it's not
[01:59:37] going to be the awards it's going to be my impact on winning here these are the numbers that support that
[01:59:42] because everyone has that trey young has it in atlanta zion williamson when he plays in new
[01:59:48] he has a lot of these guys have their mvp numbers they're not all going to be in the conversation
[01:59:53] but you got to make sure you play your part in that argument with your team the mvp for basketball
[02:00:01] is generally going to be the guy who has the most outstanding numbers on the team that's either one
[02:00:09] two or three in their conference and you don't have another star on your team that can put up the numbers that you can
[02:00:20] case in point boston with jb and jt the fact that both of those guys can put up 25
[02:00:30] seven and seven it's like okay well your team is stacked the same thing when kd and steph were in the same team
[02:00:37] kd had an mvp season but when he was playing with russ it looked like those final mvps too
[02:00:44] he was head heading shoulders over russ and okc he gets the mvp but when he got to
[02:00:51] a golden state with steph had already won a unanimous mvp he's like you're comparable to him so
[02:00:56] the two of you are going to cancel each other out because like the both of you are so good you're not
[02:01:00] really elevating the team you're just you're a uh like an extra horsepower on a lamborghini
[02:01:08] in that case but when russ was in okc by himself putting up triple double numbers just like okay
[02:01:13] this guy's out here by himself and i know he's six in the conference but something's never been done
[02:01:19] before here's your award so there's all there's varying you know the pendulum swings every season
[02:01:25] but for the most part it's pretty simple outstanding numbers top three in your conference
[02:01:30] you don't have another guy on your team that can put up similar numbers right and and you know um
[02:01:36] real quick before we get out of here a couple things real quick you know rich rod back at west virginia
[02:01:45] dan mullen takes over at unlv and i don't know why because he could have had a lot better job than
[02:01:50] that unless he just wants to live in vegas or he views it as a springboard like barry odom did to
[02:01:55] purdue and then last thing mr logical are you going to check out the semi-finals of the nba cup tomorrow
[02:02:07] yeah do you know who's in the semi-finals of the nba cup is it is it bucks hawks yes okay
[02:02:18] and then the other game the west uh houston sacramento houston okc okay yeah yeah so you know
[02:02:29] and this is what the league needs you know hypothetically i didn't watch much of the nba
[02:02:33] cup because it ain't my thing but if you need to highlight trey young i know you just that too
[02:02:39] tighten that up get you get you go to turkey get your replacement get you waved up
[02:02:46] get your lamello ball on like i know mike ain't been watching it he looks 40 so like the hair makes
[02:02:53] him look old so you gotta like get the publicist get a look and start getting out because they keep
[02:02:59] on the move my atlanta's like this dude is killing in the land right but but uh built for these kind of
[02:03:04] moments they want him in another city it's like nah man like they need to highlight him more hopefully
[02:03:08] but i think the nba is here for houston winning it you know what i mean like just from the standpoint of
[02:03:14] you know ime udoka is the redemption story the young team you know with the talent that is up and coming
[02:03:21] so second in the west so you know that might be a good look for the league you know if houston takes
[02:03:28] down yannis in the championship game you know what i'm saying but we will be back on tuesday as i said
[02:03:36] before picks picks picks the college football playoff indiana at notre dame on friday first time those two
[02:03:42] in-state schools have met since 1991 and they've only met 29 times total throughout history even
[02:03:48] though they're in the same state you got negative sense yeah you got the saturday games you know i'm
[02:03:53] saying texas and clemson tennessee at ohio state smu at penn state you know bowl game starting tomorrow
[02:04:01] starting with the even though it's not really a bowl game per se the celebration bowl jackson state against
[02:04:08] south carolina state you know saying we got some bowl game that i don't remember the name of the
[02:04:14] western michigan against south alabama and before you laugh i will have you know that georgia state
[02:04:21] that went three and nine in that conference beat vanderbilt who beat alabama
[02:04:29] holla at us like review subscribe share rate do all the free things do all the good things we'll be
[02:04:39] back on tuesday we love you enjoy your football take care of your families out there tis the season to give
