Getting down in Greenville? (02:15) Yes sir, may I have another? Time to recap the #nfl Legal Tampering Period. (18:56)
[00:00:00] America, Join us on this journey through the sports world.
[00:00:12] We got a lot going on in that NFL.
[00:00:16] The shield is busy.
[00:00:18] So we're gonna get this started like um, yes, you are now listening to the sound of sports
[00:00:27] reports as ordered.
[00:00:29] Here, and we brought the wind forward all down in Greenville South Carolina.
[00:00:36] Brothers jumping through the crowd to get onto the court as if they can beat up women
[00:00:41] on national TV.
[00:00:43] What are we doing?
[00:00:45] We go getting through that.
[00:00:47] Like I said NFL free agency is alive and well.
[00:00:51] So with that being said, let me stop being rude.
[00:00:58] Let me introduce the even kill VA born, New Jerusalem represented in the house from
[00:01:08] T. Necta Mill Bill and everything in between.
[00:01:11] Brick City got that pet.
[00:01:13] You know what I'm saying?
[00:01:15] He is Air Force Veteran.
[00:01:20] Dedicated thought.
[00:01:23] Non-profit leader.
[00:01:24] AKA the man don't bring dealers to a fight.
[00:01:32] He is the one and only Mr. Lodge and I am down here in the Alamo come and take it.
[00:01:44] I am.
[00:01:51] To fight.
[00:01:54] And of course when we start this show off, we started off with a little something called
[00:02:04] Get it off my chest.
[00:02:07] So now we go on taking that.
[00:02:10] I was driving.
[00:02:15] Coming all the way back from Wyoming, you know 15 hours and then I started hearing
[00:02:20] all these people saying it's going down South Carolina and LSU.
[00:02:26] And of course I thought they were talking about the men first of all.
[00:02:29] You know what I mean?
[00:02:30] But then it was like, you know, I had to pull over to get some gas.
[00:02:35] I had to do my due diligence and I saw a dude jump through the crowd.
[00:02:43] What we doing, bro?
[00:02:50] I was sitting at the bar and it was draking Indiana State of the one TV.
[00:02:59] And then I heard I had the LSU South Carolina game and the other one.
[00:03:07] And when I saw the dude with the hat on in the scuffle, I was like, is he?
[00:03:14] Did he come off the bench?
[00:03:15] Because there was some people, like there were some guys, you know, some graduate assistants
[00:03:20] and assistant coaches, even though it's a female team, pretty sure there's male employees.
[00:03:25] I'm looking, I'm like, so they showed the replay.
[00:03:28] He jumped over the banister out of the stands then over the press table just to stand there
[00:03:37] behind this girl.
[00:03:38] I think he realized that six, eight male or female is big when he got close, like granted,
[00:03:47] I'm not a purported of violence or whatever.
[00:03:50] But in that, when you make that kind of move to jump, that meeting railings and essentially
[00:03:58] jump yourself right in the handcuffs, you're punching something.
[00:04:03] Right.
[00:04:04] And we got there and looked and was like, he saw Camila and he was like, he literally
[00:04:11] jumped up.
[00:04:12] He got down there and was like, he looked for somebody to hold them back.
[00:04:16] He didn't go check his sister.
[00:04:19] He didn't go check on any of the LSU lady tigers.
[00:04:22] This was like, yes, somebody hold me back.
[00:04:25] And then he just literally got held back and like you did all that just to get handcuffed
[00:04:30] and on top of that is like your sister got pushed by a girl playing basketball.
[00:04:36] She has teammates.
[00:04:37] They're also female.
[00:04:39] If they was going to box it out, let them box it out.
[00:04:42] You ain't going to box it out on national TV with them?
[00:04:46] And especially when you realize you're a foot shorter, you ran up on and she was like
[00:04:52] you can see in his eyes.
[00:04:55] Besides the fact that like, you know she had already shown you what it was knocking
[00:04:58] flow J down, you know she hit her like Henry.
[00:05:02] She, but you know who pissed me off.
[00:05:07] You know who pissed me off though?
[00:05:09] The LSU head coach.
[00:05:10] The LSU head coach Kim Molts.
[00:05:12] How did I know that?
[00:05:13] You know saying because we are adults, you know saying we're the old men in the room now.
[00:05:19] So you know back in our 20s, we probably react the way Camila Cordoso did.
[00:05:25] Cardo, so Cardoso.
[00:05:27] We probably react the way that she did.
[00:05:29] We knock somebody on their ass to protect our teaming.
[00:05:32] But as the adult in the room, step one is diffuse the situation.
[00:05:39] Man, she put gasoline on it.
[00:05:41] You know saying step two is talk to your team and take notes from head coach Don Stanley.
[00:05:50] You know because Don Stanley started off the whole statement with an apology.
[00:05:56] And I'm not even necessarily saying that an apology is necessary.
[00:06:00] That's just how classy Don Stanley is.
[00:06:03] But what you can't do is say quote, I wish she would have pushed Angel Reese since they're
[00:06:10] the same.
[00:06:11] Oh, you mean the Angel Reese that was pulling hair when she was supposed to be blocking out
[00:06:17] on a free throw?
[00:06:19] That Angel Reese?
[00:06:20] Yeah.
[00:06:21] She's gonna push Angel Reese.
[00:06:23] I'll go, I'll take, I'll play Devils.
[00:06:25] I've could I'll play my two five.
[00:06:29] She, I was watching that game.
[00:06:32] Probably like I said, probably watch the third and fourth quarter.
[00:06:36] It was very physical.
[00:06:39] Not a lot of calls.
[00:06:41] Like it was it was chippy.
[00:06:43] It was pushy.
[00:06:43] It was very physical Angel Reese was getting pushed around pretty much every time she was in
[00:06:47] a post, she was getting pushed to slap.
[00:06:50] Yeah, probably every every time I looked up on each end it was it was pretty it's pretty
[00:06:54] physical but I noticed when the L issue and they were getting hit a lot and they weren't
[00:07:00] I was looking like okay, there's no call.
[00:07:02] Okay, they're letting to play it out that I'm like, no call.
[00:07:06] No call again.
[00:07:07] Oh four people on the floor.
[00:07:09] Like they were like L issue.
[00:07:11] I had to rebound the girl that come grab the arm and the ball get the ball.
[00:07:16] Stuff class getting layup some like there's some files happening in this sequence and it
[00:07:21] wasn't that many calls.
[00:07:22] So I think this is the danger of the rep letting them play and then then you have the because
[00:07:28] what flow did they was like she pushed the other girl because the girl was yelling
[00:07:31] in her face.
[00:07:32] Got my face.
[00:07:33] It was a bomb.
[00:07:34] It wasn't like she didn't run up on her to the point where she needed someone to be
[00:07:40] the team enforcer and then we should have hit her with the the ed re blind side block.
[00:07:47] It was like okay, this is over the top but like I said that third fourth quarter.
[00:07:51] I want to say it was Chippy was competitive but there definitely was some moments on each
[00:07:56] end where the rest could have like I bet coach coach come you players down get a lot of
[00:08:03] contact trying to let you play but they're taking it too far and that's what in the
[00:08:09] two.
[00:08:10] But I saw something because I was watching it and I don't think the sound at the bar
[00:08:14] was playing that game.
[00:08:16] But I saw a clip later that said something on the lines like so many like so many players
[00:08:23] got ejected that South Carolina and L H.
[00:08:27] Nobody on the bridge.
[00:08:29] Their next tournament their next game is NCAA tournament.
[00:08:33] It hurts around.
[00:08:35] They're going in with like seven players each.
[00:08:38] They'll be fine.
[00:08:40] Like there's so many starters but it's like they're not going to lose to like mom it or
[00:08:47] somebody like that.
[00:08:48] I think that's another Jersey school.
[00:08:50] You know, they're not going to lose.
[00:08:51] But like you still don't want to have because you don't want them to.
[00:08:56] Like I'm just think that you don't want injuries and you know things like that.
[00:09:00] I don't want to go into a tournament with seven players on the first because anything
[00:09:03] had happened.
[00:09:04] Well, like so this is my question for you.
[00:09:08] This is my question for you because I struggle with this sometimes.
[00:09:13] I'm not saying that I want the days of Bill Lambeer back.
[00:09:17] I'm not saying I want Kurt Rambez clothesline in somebody but I do like a little chippiness
[00:09:24] in sports just from the competitive standpoint.
[00:09:26] They're in the same conference.
[00:09:28] This was the SEC title game.
[00:09:30] They're very familiar with each other.
[00:09:31] I'm sure you know that old statement familiarity breeds contempt, you know, but with that
[00:09:37] being said do you think that with all the momentum that the winners game has built over
[00:09:45] the last year and a half?
[00:09:48] Do you think that a moment like this hurts them in a way that people wouldn't know about
[00:09:54] and view men basketball players?
[00:09:56] No.
[00:09:57] I personally sometimes when I watch the game, I think like why are they sometimes these
[00:10:09] gross flex a little too much?
[00:10:11] Like but I think even the NBA players do it too much.
[00:10:16] Oh, that's not a foul.
[00:10:19] I don't think it hurt the women's game.
[00:10:29] I think the women's game has gotten a lot of momentum over the last couple of years because
[00:10:34] you have the white team in the Midwest that plays, you know, they have their all time
[00:10:43] score.
[00:10:44] She's shooting from the logo and she has been like the last three years.
[00:10:48] She's not like a flash in the pan.
[00:10:50] So you have Angel Reese, LSU, one of the national championship games.
[00:10:54] You got the fiery coach.
[00:10:55] You got Don Staley wearing Gucci hoodies on the sideline.
[00:10:59] I think you have it's the reverse of men's basketball where the women play two, three,
[00:11:08] four years.
[00:11:09] Haley Bonnet lived.
[00:11:10] You got you know, Paige Becker and Hugh Conn.
[00:11:13] You have these men.
[00:11:14] It's on the bus.
[00:11:15] She's coming back again next year.
[00:11:16] So and they can play three, four years and it doesn't hurt their NBA, WNBA draft stock.
[00:11:22] A lot of them probably make it more money off NIL deals and just kind of being the top one
[00:11:29] of the top night.
[00:11:30] Just top female.
[00:11:31] And the big woman on campus.
[00:11:32] Yeah.
[00:11:33] Just being like one of the bigger athletes on their campus because their stadiums are packed
[00:11:38] Tennessee when they play packed LSU back.
[00:11:41] So I've got an eye on that.
[00:11:43] We talked about like the brass of volleyball, they play their game at the football stadium.
[00:11:48] So the college female college experience as far as like there are money and opportunities
[00:11:56] in the NBA, the showcase I think at the go works.
[00:11:59] The men's game they don't want a guy who's been a senior because information is like
[00:12:04] oh, if he was any good, he would have let this junior.
[00:12:07] So you know, that's the problem with guy who's playing basketball two, three, four years.
[00:12:12] And that's the problem with men's basketball within itself is that by the time they get
[00:12:17] to the NBA draft, they come so early that nobody knows who they are.
[00:12:22] You know, so like you might have a player like last year, Cam Whitmore from Villanola.
[00:12:27] You know, he went I believe it was number 20 in the draft which was way lower than he
[00:12:31] had been projected but he missed half the season with an injury on top of he was a freshman.
[00:12:37] So unless you were watching Villanola basketball like a hawk or something, you had no idea who
[00:12:44] Cam Whitmore was.
[00:12:45] I mean now he's in the NBA scoring 20 points and you're like who the hell is he?
[00:12:51] You know versus, you know with Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, you know, Angel Wilson when she
[00:12:57] came out, you know, we know these ladies because we've seen them over the course of time.
[00:13:03] So with that being said, you got to put LSU in Iowa either in the same bracket or have
[00:13:11] it set up to where they can meet in the final four, right?
[00:13:15] Either depends on what you want.
[00:13:19] Do you want the championship rematch or do you want the guarantee rematch?
[00:13:24] I wanted those two.
[00:13:28] No, like do you want, I'm talking about the LSU Iowa.
[00:13:32] Do you want them one and two in the same bracket?
[00:13:36] So your guarantee to get your rematch more likely than that one and two women's brackets.
[00:13:41] The women tend to play to their rankings.
[00:13:45] Their rank two, they're not out here blowing a game to a 15 seed.
[00:13:48] Right.
[00:13:49] I think some of the men's seeds get missed.
[00:13:52] I think teams that probably could have been seven or eight seeds just end up as 14 to 15
[00:13:58] because they want to get a team like Wake Forest and they want to get tenets in.
[00:14:03] They want to get watch, they want to get the big name schools in.
[00:14:06] Yeah.
[00:14:07] And I mean, and a lot of it depends on what conference you play in because like you get
[00:14:11] a team like Indiana State of Drake, they might they might come into the thing with a 13
[00:14:15] seed.
[00:14:16] But they'll have like last year right?
[00:14:18] FAU was a nine and made it to the final four and everybody was like, why does nine seed
[00:14:25] make a final four?
[00:14:26] That nine seed had more wins than anybody else in college basketball last year.
[00:14:30] They finished with 34 wins.
[00:14:32] They just happened to be in CUSA at the time.
[00:14:35] So they got a nine seed, whereas if they were in the big east and did all the same stuff,
[00:14:40] they'd have probably been a three.
[00:14:42] Yeah.
[00:14:43] And that's so what the women's basketball like a lot of the top programs play to their strengths
[00:14:49] in the tournaments.
[00:14:50] Well, one versus two, you can put them in the same bracket or you have it to where they're
[00:14:54] on opposite is the bracket in you.
[00:14:56] But it's so unlikely to make it back to natural shape, but I think off the top of my head,
[00:15:00] I can think of Butler went back to back for the men playing, but they didn't win.
[00:15:07] Florida won back to back for the men.
[00:15:09] That was the last time.
[00:15:10] And then I believe you con with Brianna Stewart had a stretch.
[00:15:15] I think three out of four.
[00:15:17] I think that one year and a half like a hundred something wins in a row.
[00:15:23] But this one, I believe they lost to Notre Dame.
[00:15:26] That's what I say that like I think you have happened at all.
[00:15:29] I think you have to set it up.
[00:15:32] Like I think you have to set it up.
[00:15:34] You mean obviously you can't predict the outcomes in some ways, but I think you set it
[00:15:42] up where you con I mean, I'm sorry, Iowa and LSU can meet in the final four.
[00:15:49] And then South Carolina is on the other side.
[00:15:52] So whoever wins that battle, if they get there between LSU and Iowa, the winner plays South
[00:15:57] Carolina undefeated for the national title.
[00:16:02] Because they do do that.
[00:16:04] Like I know back in back when Tyler Ulus was at Kentucky, you know, they had Kentucky
[00:16:09] in Indiana and the same bracket, you know, the year after a couple of years after Indiana
[00:16:15] hit the shot that they got into commercials.
[00:16:17] Christian Wattford hit the three.
[00:16:19] You know, we had Kentucky and Providence just last year.
[00:16:24] Kentucky being a six providence in 11 because Bryce Hopkins left Kentucky to go to Providence.
[00:16:32] So they played in the first round.
[00:16:33] We've seen Kentucky and Louisville, you know, and play each other in the final four.
[00:16:37] So like, yeah, there is.
[00:16:38] There is drama and entertainment at the end of the day.
[00:16:45] You can call it once really entertainment.
[00:16:48] It's not rigged.
[00:16:49] It's just entertainment.
[00:16:50] Calm down people.
[00:16:52] Yeah, so you know, I think that that's where we're headed.
[00:16:56] But as far as the chippinus, like obviously you don't necessarily, I'm glad we didn't
[00:17:03] see just flat out punches being thrown, you know, like a spin-off rule.
[00:17:09] I don't like the dispensary rules.
[00:17:12] Yeah.
[00:17:13] That's the part of the chippinus that I don't like that either but I do like the chippinus
[00:17:17] it shows that they care because we talk about duties athletes even care.
[00:17:23] There's this generation even have the passion and when they show it to us, we demonize them.
[00:17:29] So you know what I mean?
[00:17:30] So that's where like I thought you protect your teammate when you come up the bench protect
[00:17:34] your teammate.
[00:17:35] Oh, nice suspended.
[00:17:36] And that's why I say like I struggle with it because I like chippinus.
[00:17:41] I like, you know, for example, if in the NBA this year, if we get yet another Miami Boston
[00:17:48] series, I want to see Jimmy Butler get up in Jason Tatum's face.
[00:17:53] I want you to bring Grand Williams off the bench.
[00:17:55] Oh, I want to bring him.
[00:17:56] I want to bring him back.
[00:17:58] You know because they have that familiarity.
[00:18:00] Like I don't want two random dudes to just beef just because but y'all got that history
[00:18:06] there.
[00:18:11] You know, Russell Westbrook and Kevin DeRan.
[00:18:15] You know, Sam, bump each other a couple times.
[00:18:18] Like rest got to blow the whistle.
[00:18:20] You know what I mean?
[00:18:21] But like have that moment, you know what I mean?
[00:18:23] Because it is entertainment at the end of the day.
[00:18:27] So but yeah, so moving on, you know what I mean?
[00:18:30] I understand that usually, you know, I do the intro thing.
[00:18:35] But apparently you got something you want to say about free agency.
[00:18:41] So the deal with free agency for me and just always like close my mind is that I'm not sure
[00:18:51] if the GMs and teams really know like what the target is.
[00:19:01] I'm just and what's really best for the team?
[00:19:04] I think a lot of ego gets involved.
[00:19:07] And I just don't like the way that the GMs get to manipulate the GMs, he presidents owners
[00:19:15] whatever get them manipulate the entire narrative surrounding the players.
[00:19:19] No one this happens every year.
[00:19:21] And then you get people like Tiki Barber, Bastion, Sequan for going to Philly's like think
[00:19:27] about what Sequan been through a grant.
[00:19:29] I know they're planning a game.
[00:19:31] It's a sport.
[00:19:32] They're planning kids games for King's ransom.
[00:19:35] But Sequan Barkley was going through a couple of years of negotiation trying to get an extension,
[00:19:41] trying to get a good deal for the team that drafted him so he can be a giant.
[00:19:47] You wouldn't give him $11 million or $22 total million over two years.
[00:19:53] That's what I think that was the report last year.
[00:19:57] They were all friend, like the franchise tag was $10.8.
[00:19:59] They were offering $10.1 and they were making a scene as if giving him the franchise tag
[00:20:05] at $10.8 was a better deal.
[00:20:06] He was like, yo, just give me $11 for two years.
[00:20:09] Yeah, I'm going to have to do this all over again next year.
[00:20:12] I'm about to do it all over again.
[00:20:13] They were like, eh, and while they're going through all of that,
[00:20:17] they gave Daniel Jones four years 160.
[00:20:20] When he was, they weren't even hard pressed to have to do that.
[00:20:24] So the fact that now Philly comes to with the bag,
[00:20:27] they backed up the brickstruck and wants to give him $37 million.
[00:20:31] Now you allow the, the, the, the, the,
[00:20:35] the spunness to say there's no loyalty to the team.
[00:20:38] Josh Jacobs said the same thing.
[00:20:40] He was like, you talk about the players not being loyal.
[00:20:42] What about the player who's literally, I don't want to just keep going off the injury
[00:20:48] thing.
[00:20:49] But they are risking security because if I'm playing on a franchise tag and I'm playing
[00:20:53] a collision position and you're, you gave me the franchise tag because you didn't want
[00:21:00] to pay me but now you want me to work hard to get another check when you might not have
[00:21:05] to pay me again.
[00:21:07] And then we come back to the table after I played under this essentially a gamble.
[00:21:12] And I come back to the table and you're like, hey, how about we do it one more time?
[00:21:16] Like are you kidding me?
[00:21:18] You know person would take that an any job.
[00:21:20] If someone promised your promotion and they say come to this office if you perform,
[00:21:26] if you perform last year, next November when we're doing our fiscal year budgeting, see
[00:21:30] what we can do for you.
[00:21:31] You're like, you know what?
[00:21:32] I'll do it.
[00:21:34] And then you do everything.
[00:21:35] You up all your numbers and come back and they're like, listen, do it one more year
[00:21:39] and maybe next year because still no guarantee.
[00:21:41] I was like, I'm in a collision sport with no guarantees so this team wants to give me
[00:21:47] a guarantee, like the little, this boy in my DM think I'm pretty.
[00:21:52] Like that people start to hear that when you got to be contented.
[00:21:56] Like if you were for NBC and ESPN is like, listen man, we'll give you your own show.
[00:22:01] We'll give you this staff, this staff, this staff and this budget for close.
[00:22:05] That's a priority to you.
[00:22:07] And then you go back to NBC and they have about you work on the same contract this year
[00:22:13] for the next couple of years.
[00:22:15] Meanwhile, we're going to hire other people and give them better deals than you.
[00:22:19] We're going to hire them from other places.
[00:22:21] So like that's what happens with these free agencies.
[00:22:24] So like the players had their right to say, hey, you're using my body and my talent and
[00:22:32] my energy and my effort to benefit the owner, benefit your own check, benefit all the sponsors.
[00:22:39] I just want you to secure me the same way to secure you because ESPN doesn't have a one
[00:22:46] year lease with the NFL to play my the night football.
[00:22:49] ABC they don't have a pay come back next year.
[00:22:52] We'll see how the rating will look.
[00:22:53] There are 10 year deals for billions of dollars.
[00:22:57] I need a three year deal for $29 million.
[00:23:02] You can't do that.
[00:23:03] This other team will give me 37 amount.
[00:23:06] Yeah, and that's why like, free at last, St. Juan was exactly who I had in mind when
[00:23:11] I came up with him and Josh Jacobs because St.
[00:23:16] Juan has had seasons where he's been 35% of the Giants offense.
[00:23:22] You know, last year he was 29 or the year before he was 29% of the Giants offense.
[00:23:27] So at some point they're going to run you into the ground until they feel you're not a
[00:23:34] commodity anymore and then they'll just get rid of you.
[00:23:39] Even though, you know, obviously last year he didn't meet his incentives.
[00:23:45] But it's worth it.
[00:23:47] But and as a sentence, we're in that's the thing.
[00:23:50] The incentives were completely ridiculous.
[00:23:52] Right.
[00:23:53] He was going to hit those incentives.
[00:23:54] Right.
[00:23:55] He was going to hit those.
[00:23:56] Even with Daniel Jones.
[00:23:57] It was like 14 14 hundred yards.
[00:24:00] You had to play X amount of games.
[00:24:02] Yeah, like Christian McCaffrey has I've been saying was deleting Russia this year.
[00:24:07] Yeah, he barely had over 1400 yards.
[00:24:10] You know, when Josh Jacobs was a leading Russia.
[00:24:12] Yeah, he has.
[00:24:15] He won a game.
[00:24:16] So you know, so I was initially shot by the Josh Jacobs thing until I actually sat down and thought about it.
[00:24:26] So when it first happened, my reaction was Green Bay.
[00:24:31] What are you doing?
[00:24:32] You trying to recreate Fred Taylor and Marys Jones drew but like which one is the Jones drew here?
[00:24:40] You know, because there's a high argument.
[00:24:42] But then obviously they ended up releasing Aaron Jones.
[00:24:45] He ended up in Minnesota for one year.
[00:24:47] Seven million.
[00:24:50] But as I was looking at this, I was like, hey, Josh Jacobs just turned 26 Super Bowl weekend.
[00:24:57] Aaron Jones will be 30 at some point during this season.
[00:25:02] You know, you're resetting the clock with your quarterback that you just paid.
[00:25:07] So I so it's once I sat down and peeled it back.
[00:25:11] It made sense, but let me tell you something that doesn't make sense to me real quick.
[00:25:16] Let's hear it.
[00:25:18] The Carolina Panthers.
[00:25:21] Back in 2022 turned down who first rounders and a second rounder from the Rams to get Brian Burns.
[00:25:33] I basically gave him up for a fifth round pick yesterday.
[00:25:37] You know, a fifth and a sixth basically or fourth and a fifth.
[00:25:42] And I'm just stop trying to figure out.
[00:25:46] Are there gold to be the jets or the commanders?
[00:25:50] Yo, it's.
[00:25:52] It's a.
[00:25:54] I posted this in one group that I was in earlier and try to articulate this best I can.
[00:26:01] I was in the new wave of.
[00:26:05] Second, buying it.
[00:26:07] Yeah, buying and selling teams.
[00:26:10] With these.
[00:26:11] Yeah, I was trying to explain today a lunch or a sit-in lunch.
[00:26:15] I was talking to one doesn't really know anything about sports.
[00:26:17] So I was kind of breaking down like, okay, this is this was going on.
[00:26:21] You have people who are using sports franchises to like bolster their portfolio.
[00:26:30] Because no matter how you perform the league is growing.
[00:26:34] So to Carolina Panthers, David Tepper, the owner, whatever he paid for the Panthers.
[00:26:40] It's almost going to be guaranteed when he sells it eventually next couple of years because he's so terrible at it.
[00:26:46] Like the team is so bad.
[00:26:47] He's been awfully been making another bad contract.
[00:26:50] Bad says there's a culminated last year when he threw a drink on a fan and got five 300 grand forward.
[00:26:58] He's going to sell it and turn some formal profit.
[00:27:02] I mean, we saw Michael Jordan with the Hornets.
[00:27:05] But Michael Jordan was there for a while.
[00:27:07] This guy Tepper is going to the Brooklyn nets when they were going through their spell.
[00:27:11] They had two owners.
[00:27:12] They're on a third like I think they saw the team twice.
[00:27:15] And each person made money handle or fifths.
[00:27:18] What's going to start happening in the NFL Denver same thing.
[00:27:22] They're like, you know what?
[00:27:23] We're going to reshape how we do things like no, you're not.
[00:27:26] You pay Russell Wilson, you pay the coach, you make them make music.
[00:27:30] You shouldn't be just because you have the $85 million available.
[00:27:34] Put your team in a handicap because it's keep it a bean.
[00:27:37] If you're the next quarterback you pick doesn't work out with Sean Payton.
[00:27:41] How many years you're giving Sean Payton to figure it out?
[00:27:45] Because you got this dead money for the next couple of years.
[00:27:47] You're paying him rumored $20 million a year for four or five years.
[00:27:53] So are you just going to just sell out $80 million a fire him next year and some kind of buyout?
[00:27:59] No.
[00:28:00] So you're going to keep them if it doesn't work out now, you just stuck with him.
[00:28:03] Carolina, you just you drafted a quarterback that's undersized you haven't gotten them a big target yet.
[00:28:09] What is your next season going to look like?
[00:28:12] It's going to look just as bad as last year when people could have bought a ticket to your game for $4.
[00:28:16] It's going to be like the Detroit Minnesota was bad for a while.
[00:28:22] Like these teams in the NBA because they were just being bought and sold people are making money.
[00:28:28] These guys don't know or love football look at the hunt.
[00:28:32] The cheese look at the even the giants are tripping because like you guys have been a legacy franchise and you're making terrible moves.
[00:28:39] I mean, they picked up burns you know so that was a good move.
[00:28:42] You know, but they let McKinney go.
[00:28:44] You know, they picked up Andrew Locke.
[00:28:47] You know, I guess there's some kind of insurance in case Daniel Jones.
[00:28:51] But the day you Jones move like when we went everybody I was talking to my office was like,
[00:28:57] I'm not a GM.
[00:29:00] But I know you have a franchise running back.
[00:29:04] You're trying to sign and he's begging for a couple million dollars.
[00:29:10] And then you turn right around out of the blue and give the quarterback 40 million right in his face is like,
[00:29:17] you have to know that's not you say corn was done when that happened.
[00:29:22] He was never going back to the giants unless they overpaid him.
[00:29:26] And that was like that was public disrespect is like listen, this dude had one good year.
[00:29:32] You keep getting hurt though.
[00:29:34] Like what he keeps bubbling you know what they did?
[00:29:37] They pissed in his pocket and told him it was raining facts.
[00:29:41] That's what they did you know the thing and now people are like,
[00:29:44] Oh, what like wall that's what teams do and I think I don't know if it's the GM that just basically has the ear of the owner or the team president.
[00:29:54] I don't know who makes the final call.
[00:29:57] But I think it's a lot of people in place that are operating under the veil of arrogance and not anything that makes us because I don't know
[00:30:04] what single person I thought that Daniel Jones, it was good deal.
[00:30:09] So as a one person non-Giant fans, regular people, everybody was like this is a bad deal.
[00:30:17] So now that we're talking about quarterbacks, I guess we got to get into it.
[00:30:23] Think what you think.
[00:30:26] Yeah, yeah.
[00:30:29] But guy number eight I think he's going to wear it 12.
[00:30:33] It's two things.
[00:30:39] I'm going to play try play both sides of the pillow here.
[00:30:42] It's a typical Atlanta move.
[00:30:46] You went conservative.
[00:30:49] I think it's a little bit more splash.
[00:30:52] A little bit more high risk, high reward.
[00:30:57] So if you're going to go safe with the quarterback.
[00:31:07] Something else that's a little bit more splash, a little bit more high risk, high reward.
[00:31:18] So if you're going to go 180 to the quarterback.
[00:31:23] Then with that eight pick instead of bolstering the defense, I want you to get another playmaker.
[00:31:29] Why receiver was his room of doze.
[00:31:33] You make a move to get neighbors.
[00:31:36] If Marvah Harrison junior is slipping because team to grab and quarterbacks, I want you to go from eight to five.
[00:31:43] I need you to do something to where you can just kind of replicate that 2016 squad would.
[00:31:50] Muhammad's new.
[00:31:52] Tevin and Devante and Julio and Hooper and just we're going to go out here and try to put 30 points up.
[00:32:01] I think it's a little bit more like a big deal.
[00:32:04] I think it's a little bit more than that.
[00:32:07] I think it's a little bit more than that.
[00:32:10] But it's a little bit more than that.
[00:32:12] Because if you do that, the defense was good last year.
[00:32:15] It didn't, they didn't get a lot of pressure.
[00:32:17] The defense is good.
[00:32:18] From what I hear to all these draft punishes.
[00:32:20] You can get a lot of defensive backs, a lot of corners available.
[00:32:24] Maybe you get one a second round or maybe you still make a move like you said.
[00:32:28] Chase Young, you throw some money at these guys.
[00:32:33] Maybe a couple more million and see if you can take that number eight pick and make the offense so explosive that Kurt Cusgis has open wide receivers every pass play.
[00:32:46] Because you got to run it back, the backfield set with the power and speed and power and speed of Al Jair and Bijan Robinson.
[00:32:57] So you have that.
[00:32:59] So I just say go all in with the offense, but the problem is they went conservative with Kurt.
[00:33:05] They're going to go conservative everywhere else and then they're going to kind of hope to be in games.
[00:33:09] I want you up 24 or 10 with starting the fourth quarter multiple games next season because that rarely happen in the last few years.
[00:33:18] Well, see for me, it depends on how you want to look at it.
[00:33:21] You know, like just peeling it back.
[00:33:24] Not look not trying to look at it from the standpoint of this is what a team did looking at it from the standpoint of this is what this team did.
[00:33:33] So if you're the Atlanta Falcons, you came into last season with an unknown project at quarterback that you were hoping could be coached up into a serviceable quarterback.
[00:33:45] He was afraid to throw the ball.
[00:33:47] So you had to come off the bench with Hainaki.
[00:33:50] Hainaki made the offense look like it was probably supposed to look in some ways, but he's just not good enough to sustain that play over the course of the season.
[00:34:01] So when you look at that Justin Fields, it's like do I want to go back to another project?
[00:34:09] You know, even though the upside is definitely there.
[00:34:12] Yeah, you know why I got this talent with B John with pits with London.
[00:34:19] You know, can I guarantee that Justin Fields can get them the ball consistently the way that we want him to the answer to that question right now is no.
[00:34:29] The problem is Kirk cousins is coming off of that Achilles injury.
[00:34:34] If the Achilles injury wasn't there, then I'm all for it 100% like let's do this.
[00:34:40] You know, you got a better in quarterback that does have playoff experience.
[00:34:44] Grandi's one important to playoffs, but he does have playoff experience.
[00:34:48] You know, he's a leader.
[00:34:50] We saw him with jet in the way that jet talks about him basically saying Minnesota if Kirk ain't here.
[00:34:56] I don't want to be here.
[00:34:57] So he has credibility even coming off the injury.
[00:35:01] You know, at the time that he got hurt this season led the league in touchdown passes beat San Francisco on Monday night football.
[00:35:08] So Kirk cousins has shown the ability to do good things.
[00:35:14] He just hasn't quite reached the spectrum of great.
[00:35:19] You know, but with the talent that Atlanta has on offense maybe he doesn't have to be maybe they just need just like the Giants right.
[00:35:28] The Giants don't need Joe Montana.
[00:35:31] They just need better than Daniel Jones.
[00:35:33] Maybe that's where Atlanta is is that we don't necessarily need Lamar Jackson.
[00:35:39] We just need a dude that's better than Desmond Ripper because that's the problem.
[00:35:45] The problem is at some point in your franchise history, you're going to have an opportunity to put together.
[00:35:58] You know, a great high power team on both sides of the ball.
[00:36:04] Few sins of prime example of that right now they got CJ Stroud.
[00:36:10] This whole season next year then they can sign an extension and even then the extension doesn't kick in until after like the fourth year I think going into his fifth year.
[00:36:22] They went in.
[00:36:24] They went out Joe mixing they got to know Hunter you have to go with Will Anderson.
[00:36:29] I can I can see them making a move where if they have any money left and Minnesota and and just Jeff to can't make music.
[00:36:38] I can see them doing it not necessarily because it's Houston or what their cast situation is.
[00:36:43] It's just that is the last go mentality right now.
[00:36:47] And I think that's the mentality of every team that essentially gets a surprise at QB or a surprise QB coach combination is like oh this works.
[00:37:00] I'm going all in will go with the Rams when staffer got there and they were like oh he his time in Detroit was less than spectacular but he's really slinging it.
[00:37:12] Oh Jayland Rams available go get him.
[00:37:17] Go get him.
[00:37:19] We go we're going we're going Instagram this locker room out and get this one chip and that way after you win the chip you can you can give people to want to come there on a cheaper deal because like yeah we're coming up to bowl.
[00:37:36] We're primed to go back the back.
[00:37:39] So do you want if you're a guy like do you want 15 million year from Seattle or do you want 12 and a half from LA but we have a chance go to the rule.
[00:37:50] But that kind of leverage is what you get I just think Atlanta just doesn't put themselves didn't put themselves in that position yet.
[00:37:57] Maybe they will maybe they won't.
[00:37:59] What do you think about the mooney pickup?
[00:38:03] I'm not sure.
[00:38:07] Is he you two is he a slot.
[00:38:11] If he's a slot guy and you got obviously you got Drake London.
[00:38:16] If he's a slot guy and then like I said if you plan on getting one of these big wide receivers, then I'm all for it.
[00:38:25] Because then it's like okay, this is a seven headed monster.
[00:38:29] We're putting out there in offense between you know getting out here and at a.
[00:38:35] Be showing out there and then you got pitch I don't know I'm not sure what the John Smith contract looks like I don't know if he's still there but if that's what you're going to do.
[00:38:44] I'm with it but if you're not if you just going to go and get conservative and draft a D and and then draft the corner and.
[00:38:54] So so the other thing go all in somewhere.
[00:38:58] The other thing I like about the Cursons move is Atlanta's offensive coordinator Zach Robinson was the quarterbacks coach in LA under Kevin McConnell being the offensive coordinator saw would assume or like to assume at least that there's going to be a similar system that cousins is already comfortable with.
[00:39:18] It's not going to be the learning curve potentially for the other players but the quarterback will have it down and you know Cursons can.
[00:39:27] Mentor London and pits through the system as they get going you know because I mean even with Tampa winning the division or they were nine and eight.
[00:39:37] They were not an eight and they need to be Carolina in the last game I think they won that game not zero.
[00:39:43] Yeah so like so like Atlanta you know for the time being we'll see what Cursons looks like.
[00:39:50] You know but if you're Atlanta you're thinking to yourselves.
[00:39:54] We just jumped a line you know Tampa just lost Carlton Davis they just lost Shaq Barrett so it's not as if they're gaining in the same way that you are.
[00:40:05] Yeah New Orleans has their car and it's like.
[00:40:10] Yeah James on the Cleveland.
[00:40:12] James went to Cleveland Dennis Allen's probably been on a high seat since Trump was president.
[00:40:19] So is there is there any other moves that stood out to you during this early free agent cycle?
[00:40:26] I got I wrote a couple down.
[00:40:28] I think probably one of if they had a quarterback.
[00:40:33] This will probably be.
[00:40:36] One of the like oh they're going for moves Christian Wilkins to the Raiders.
[00:40:42] Because now who you doubling ready for my stat was here alright there are seven players in the NFL this season on the defensive line that played eight hundred and fifty snaps.
[00:40:57] Wilkins and Crosby are two of them.
[00:41:02] They're all there they are also two of them that have played 17 games the last three seasons so not only.
[00:41:10] Are they causing havoc out here but they're out here to cause the havoc of bill ability.
[00:41:18] Yes so you know so the Raiders are coming regardless they will get the quarterback whether it's Justin Fields whether you know they do something in the draft.
[00:41:26] Are they brought in yeah I'll say they brought in Gardner Minshue for a conversation.
[00:41:33] No they signed them they signed Gardner they signed Gardner Minshue.
[00:41:38] Okay so they're straight them you know they got a winner baby they got a winner.
[00:41:45] He's your pretty quarterback you know if people give if you give him a shot.
[00:41:50] Granted the problem is they just got it they got to be Kansas City.
[00:41:56] Like you just you got to play them twice and just losing them two times could just knock you out of playoffs because like I said not an eight not an eight makes the playoffs but the kid knows not an eight is basically been making a playoffs the last few years so if you lose both games the Kansas City is like that's that's that's the hard part because you're almost booking like the whole conference.
[00:42:16] Denver L.A. and Las Vegas can basically all of them can expect to lose both games in Kansas City and it has been like that for like the last few years for the most of my chances I think on five and one I think was what was my home like 24 and three.
[00:42:36] I was like 27 and three at one point against the division but like that's one of the moves that stood out to me is the charges picking up Gus Edwards you know because he's that workhorse that harboring likes you know you pick up somebody else in the draft maybe a Blake corum and you cooking with Greece but one thing that stood out to me is
[00:42:58] the
[00:43:00] P.J. Mr Jones P.J. Mr Jones down in Arlington free agency has started in case you didn't know
[00:43:06] free agent
[00:43:08] Henry should have been a cowboy he should have been a cowboy Tony pilot is no longer a cowboy as soon as he made that press conference speech saying he enjoyed his time at Tennessee and he's looking to go for
[00:43:23] the tempering somebody should have been in his Instagram so may make a little bit.
[00:43:29] All right Michael Parsons should have had him on the podcast it should it should have been a done deal because exactly what you need that's that kind of a running back man give him the money.
[00:43:41] Yeah so I agree you ready for the list you know so if you are Dallas do not fret I guess because you know this isn't the 1980s you don't
[00:43:53] need a very Sanders you don't need an emits Smith you know so here's a list of running backs that I wrote down and I want you to tell me which route the cowboy should go because not only did Tony Pollard go to Tennessee but Rico doodles are free agent too so you know we'll see what he ends up doing so now they're down to doose Vaughn who's three inches shorter than me you know so here we go.
[00:44:18] J. K. Dobbins AJ Dylan Alexander Madison Chase Edmonds Haleir from Kansas City the on tape for me cam acres and Karim Hunt.
[00:44:32] Hunt.
[00:44:36] Hunt and doubt bring back your guys already there Karim Hunt.
[00:44:44] See I was thinking acres and Dylan you know get your big get your big back you know he's not Zeec obviously but get your big back.
[00:44:54] Stay away from the job is because you know he's on that all in firmerie team.
[00:44:59] I just like to wake cream hunt plays I thought Cleveland did themselves it deserves by not trading him a couple years back I think he would have gotten he would have probably tapped you a couple of seconds maybe a second and the third especially when you had Nick Chubb and then they had what's up
[00:45:13] the guy number 30 came out against Dallas had a big game yeah they they had a big offense of line and Johnson yeah it was yeah it was brown is Johnson yeah yeah he's in Jacksonville now so you had the line sustained and then you like yo you could have gotten premium because people try to undervalue to run it back position but
[00:45:39] half you got 30 touches in the sewer boy at 160 yards and a critique of how Shanahan and the wake of the loss was why they start running the ball in the second half so everyone talks about how the value to run it back is going down but all I heard was how can you didn't run the ball like you got 30 touches yet 22 carries eight catches 160 yards but they were saying why didn't you run the ball right we talked about in multiple
[00:46:09] super balls are just we talked about with Detroit you run the ball run the clock keep the lead you need a guy that's going to threaten the defense I don't know Tony Pollard ever was going to be your solo act
[00:46:23] now he was your goal on guys he can't 12 touchdowns a year you released him and signed the guy that ran it 20 ballers was a good back you can keep
[00:46:33] see like that's that's kind of stuff that what I'm talking about these games I know what they're doing is like we're all looking at it and I get it I don't have the cap numbers
[00:46:43] but what I do have is the results of your game the same way you do so if you've seen that Pollard worked best from the 20 to the 20 and then the screen game as your change of pace back why not just stick with that because I know a combination think about this remember do some of your house and Reggie Bush mm-hmm
[00:47:04] that combination that's a 16 year old combination that on the field today still works you're scat back you quit back you're back you can hit with the stretch play the reverse plays the speed plays or the power back on third and three
[00:47:23] you don't have to throw every pass on 33 because if you think about like how many teams and how many times you see these coaches go for analytics they always want to throw it patching my homes in a super bowl
[00:47:35] the biggest plays of the game wasn't him throwing a ball it was his four runs he had one big throw but just being able to control the line of scrimmage by running the ball
[00:47:48] I mean both of crash down every time on McKinney because the fake to the running back was so good not the double move with the Y receiver we know that's best showtime but running the ball control my the scrimmage so having Derek Henry and Dallas was like a no brainer every person we talk about like oh it's going to Dallas they're like Dallas or Baltimore
[00:48:10] so help me out with Jacksonville here they went out and signed a wide receiver that couldn't even get the ball from a dude that wants to throw the ball 55 times a game
[00:48:23] while franchising their Josh Allen while still trying to bring back Calvin Ridley
[00:48:32] I mean
[00:48:34] I think Jacksonville they're in a win-able division and I don't think they need to go all out
[00:48:43] they don't I think what they just need to make some moves maybe really I mean maybe really just as making like you know I want
[00:48:53] another opportunity I want to go I want to go
[00:48:55] maybe we was interested in them from what I've heard that's the only one to be a clear cut number one I want you know
[00:49:02] I want 140 targets a year like I don't I don't know I don't know he wants 10 targets again why don't you so maybe that's what he wants to maybe he wants to pay raise
[00:49:11] well somebody like got to be out because you know they still have Zay Jones they still have Christian Kirk
[00:49:16] so somebody has to be out maybe it is him but I think that I would probably keep him instead of bringing in Gabe Davis at this point
[00:49:28] you know but that's just me but while we were talking about our teams you know just let me go ahead and say that the commanders are not the redskins
[00:49:37] you know like it looks as though in two days
[00:49:43] Washington has done more than Daniel Snyder did during his whole
[00:49:48] 22 23 year 10 year
[00:49:50] You know starting off with mr. Red Zone himself Austin Eccler
[00:49:55] You know
[00:49:57] Dan Quinn's trying to bring the band back together Don Tay follow during Tom Strong who's had 21 sacks the last three seasons under Quinn
[00:50:06] You know you went out and got Jeremy chin which I like a lot
[00:50:11] You know saying now I just need my corner baby. I need my corner. We got a new boot from Carolina
[00:50:17] You know who I like I think they're gonna try to use him. He's not obviously nowhere near
[00:50:22] Micah Parsons, but I think they're gonna use him as that edge guy
[00:50:27] Because he in pursuit he's not the best. He's not the quickest
[00:50:31] But he can get off the ball pretty well. So I like what Washington's done so far, but what do you think about Russell Wilson to Pittsburgh?
[00:50:40] I called it
[00:50:42] I said it last week
[00:50:46] Because everybody was just talking this because everyone said Atlanta because he was from Atlanta. I'm like
[00:50:52] Nah, I don't think that was gonna work
[00:50:54] But I mean, I was kind of I was a little on board with him going to Atlanta
[00:51:01] Because it was only going to be 1.2 million dollars
[00:51:03] He can go all in everywhere else
[00:51:05] but I think
[00:51:07] It made the most sense for him to go to Pittsburgh
[00:51:10] Because he's gonna beat out Kenny pick it
[00:51:13] Everybody in the building and can want Kenny pick at the start
[00:51:16] And then as soon as he comes out there with those gloves again in September or trying to pass
[00:51:21] Is it gonna be like this dude's not this is in the mood?
[00:51:24] But I'm scared. I'm scared
[00:51:27] What they Pittsburgh just get the Washington version of Donovan McNabb
[00:51:32] I don't think Russell Wilson is washed up
[00:51:36] No, I don't think you wash up either, but I think he will be I don't think so
[00:51:40] He has no injuries. I got like a half a season and you're gonna start to see
[00:51:45] I think he hasn't happened yet start. I'm gonna give you
[00:51:50] After five games Pittsburgh will be three and two who's gonna have about 16 17th-star soundpass
[00:51:55] I
[00:51:56] Think I like the Patrick Queen pick up more than I like the pickup her family
[00:52:00] well obviously like there's I
[00:52:03] Just think that the
[00:52:06] I think the narrative surrounding Russell Wilson and his decline is being overblown
[00:52:12] Definitely definitely get 20% the I like 24 touchdowns passing and I think he ran in a few more eight interceptions
[00:52:21] All while playing for a guy who every single week
[00:52:26] Blamed everything on him even when they want
[00:52:31] Like think about that like I'm at work we win and
[00:52:36] The first thing you say if we got an arm band who are in band it like the whole season
[00:52:41] He treated Russell Wilson like I
[00:52:45] Wanted your mom, but I didn't want to be your stepdad
[00:52:49] Not me so like when you move it out
[00:52:52] So who treated the Bronco worse
[00:52:57] The Sean Peyton treat Russell Wilson worse than Steve Smith treated Jerry Judy
[00:53:03] Because I feel like
[00:53:05] I feel like Jerry Judy got more in that trade but Steve Smith tanked his value to
[00:53:11] Well, I think the team because like I said, I'm not a big fan of Sean Peyton this last season just added more
[00:53:20] Like added more
[00:53:22] logs that cabin fire
[00:53:25] Of Sean Peyton's 10 years of coach. It is probably one of the most overrated runs as a coach as far as value
[00:53:33] He had yeah
[00:53:34] Do some accounts of Reggie Bush Drew breeze Marcus Colston and
[00:53:38] They had a good run, but there was some sub five hundred years in there and the N.O.C
[00:53:43] South hasn't been good that often Atlanta was a good team
[00:53:46] Atlanta was a 10 11 went team every once in a while
[00:53:49] But it wasn't like they were out there going to be against the New England Patriots in their
[00:53:54] ASEE
[00:53:54] Stomination run they had some terrible years
[00:53:57] They had some flash in the paying years and then he goes to Denver and all of a sudden Russell Wilson's a problem
[00:54:03] After the thing you had get at you came on set
[00:54:05] Oh, despite one of the worst coaching jobs in the history of the sport and
[00:54:09] Then you go out there and do worse. You give up 70 points
[00:54:13] They did they were intense now as a white dude a 21 3 lead to the commanders in Sam Hall at home
[00:54:21] So I I like the Russell Wilson to Pittsburgh because
[00:54:25] They have they got pickings. They got fried moves
[00:54:28] Nigel Harris has to start hitting the holes better. I don't know
[00:54:33] I could see them making a wide receiver move into draft. We got the other back
[00:54:38] Jalen Warren
[00:54:39] Jalen Warren he's that's that that that do some callous to Reggie Bush combination
[00:54:44] I think Russ can use that because I think I think
[00:54:46] Russ has seen he's seen so much that if you just put him in position where he can make the plays the way he makes plays
[00:54:54] So on that screen is having roll a little bit
[00:54:58] Maybe come back to the screen pass even the stuff behind a lot of scrims
[00:55:02] You're like, oh, you throw a city pass by on a lot of scrims. Everyone does it every suit. It's an easy play
[00:55:08] It's basically an extended running play and I get the ball in my hands my playmaker early
[00:55:13] Like I don't know why teams like I don't know how I got like to find digs goes like into the second quarter
[00:55:19] He only has two targets and like you off the rip
[00:55:21] I'm giving you the shovel pass. I'm getting the ball in your hands early
[00:55:25] I'm gonna get you eight to twelve yards. I'm gonna get you going
[00:55:28] I'm gonna get you talking shit to the guy defending you and we're gonna get this thing rolling
[00:55:32] That's what the bubble screen does
[00:55:34] Pickens get imagine pickens getting that ball on the little bubble screen up a big target like that coming down
[00:55:40] Hill with the ball in his hand you got the fans around you the fans of loyal they love Pittsburgh
[00:55:46] Pittsburgh's a dope city. I think they'll embrace I think they'll embrace him better than Sean Peyton and brace him
[00:55:51] Definitely Mike Tom is gonna brace because he says I run the coaching
[00:55:55] Did you see
[00:55:57] Philadelphia
[00:55:58] Look dead into the camera with Booker T voice and say San Francisco we coming for you
[00:56:07] Rayquan Bryce Huff what CJ Gardner Johnson back
[00:56:12] You know Philly trying to get that thing going again. I just got to sit down with Siri on you say listen man
[00:56:18] You're the leader of a football team
[00:56:22] Not the president of a fret house
[00:56:25] So let's act accordingly you can still have your brash this in your bravado, but
[00:56:32] Your quarterback shouldn't have to get you back to back to the mean as two five says
[00:56:38] I like that move
[00:56:41] I'm thinking if you have a kid that plays football and they play running back in their kind of tall just go ahead
[00:56:48] I'm a slot on play wide receiver because pitman and Indie got three years 70 million 46
[00:56:54] I don't know where that came from like I would have damn sure probably if that's what I had to pay him his ass would have been good as franchise
[00:57:03] So they made that deal. I saw that
[00:57:07] Looks like the go on rate
[00:57:09] Excuse me for running backs is eight million a year once again. Yeah, I was shocked at
[00:57:14] What Derek Henry got from Baltimore two years 16 million
[00:57:21] But you know but he's still second and it'll coming off this season where he's second and league in Russian I
[00:57:27] Think
[00:57:30] Don't know how many places I think that magic number three zero spice cares some people off
[00:57:37] But it's like yo if you think about
[00:57:40] What these teams are paying other positions?
[00:57:46] I don't think you have that much fear about paying a running back
[00:57:50] 12 million a year is like you're paying tackles 22 million a year
[00:57:55] You're paying wide receivers
[00:57:56] We got pitman three years 70 million like 23 and a half or so
[00:58:01] So that yeah, that's 23 some change you got
[00:58:05] Tyree Hill out here. Yes. He's a game changer. He's getting damn near 30 Devonta ads getting 30
[00:58:12] Brian Burns the Giants gave him 150
[00:58:16] We've got what four years 110 for you four years 110 85 year T
[00:58:22] So for you to tell me and a league that's paying all
[00:58:26] These other guys and I get that defensive line like defensive tackles alignment like everybody plays an important role
[00:58:35] But is
[00:58:37] Brad Burns
[00:58:40] That much more important than Derek Henry well
[00:58:43] I mean
[00:58:47] So to answer your question
[00:58:49] There are Henry is 30 we'll see what happens on the downside of that
[00:58:53] Brian Burns on the other hand is 26
[00:58:56] Yeah, but I can if I wanted to I could double team him all game long and he's completely new trust
[00:59:03] You can but it opens it up but it opens it up for
[00:59:06] But but he's also 12th and sacks and quarterback hits the last five years so
[00:59:13] Like so maybe he is that important to you especially if you're a team like the Giants, you know
[00:59:18] But if you're Baltimore
[00:59:20] He's probably not because you have rolequan Smith and others
[00:59:24] You know before a team like the Giants he could be more important in dark Henry because Baltimore just came off the
[00:59:31] AFC championship game
[00:59:33] And they didn't run the ball and they didn't run the ball. Oh there you go
[00:59:37] I just like I said I just think the running back number
[00:59:41] I
[00:59:42] Think all scope position players right now. They should all begin to lose 10 like these new kind like should be 10 million at least 10 11
[00:59:48] May this is what when you got 13 right?
[00:59:51] Morning got 13 and I'm not sure where he had 13 from gave what gave Davis got 13 and I was off to a bills fan of office
[01:00:00] He was like that do we got paid off that one playoff game. That's exactly right so
[01:00:05] So with that we don't realize that were three years ago. It was like that is a long time ago
[01:00:09] So would that be instead
[01:00:12] Eber flew the only head coach watching bow nicks
[01:00:16] Like at the pro day is he from Oregon or something maybe maybe just was like yeah
[01:00:21] I'm taking my fan my daughter wants to go there
[01:00:24] My and we're gonna go spring break out check it out. They did
[01:00:29] We all know what you're doing in number one, but they did give gentlemen Johnson the money as they should have
[01:00:34] They brought in Deandre Swift
[01:00:36] You know to a team that already finished second in rushing last year first the year before that so
[01:00:44] Whoever their quarterback is next year
[01:00:47] Is going to have a nice safety valve and for Deandre Swift's morale
[01:00:52] He doesn't have to worry about his quarterback sneaking his touchdowns from taking his touchdowns
[01:00:56] I love daily, but I was like if I was if I was Swift and they called that I will look in a hurry like jailing really
[01:01:04] Come on man. I didn't rant I ran 47 yards of this drive
[01:01:09] I can't get this last one
[01:01:11] Yeah, easy round caught the ball at the one and they ruled it touchdown and they overruled it
[01:01:17] Say it was now at the one is like all right. Well, let me get this one back
[01:01:20] Let me let me let me let me so first down
[01:01:22] Let me give let me run the ball because you know it's a guaranteed
[01:01:25] Well, we're about to see we're about to see how bad the giants are right because
[01:01:30] They're 9 and 16 without St. Juan Barkley
[01:01:35] with St. Juan Barkley they're 28 45 and 1
[01:01:40] And they just brought in devil Devon Singletary
[01:01:43] So unless they're gonna upgrade everything else
[01:01:47] There's going to probably be some more 25 48 and 1 on the way. Yeah, I saw that
[01:01:55] Did the the jet sign Tyra Taylor?
[01:01:58] I didn't even see Tyra Taylor yet. I think he got who bridges went to the Patriots though
[01:02:05] I mean who's gonna be throwing in the ball and that's like for me
[01:02:09] If I was if I'm a free agent pass catcher and
[01:02:14] You're a tyrant on the cross town yet. Yeah, you got me
[01:02:20] I know everybody doesn't have a bunch of options
[01:02:22] But I'm like who's throwing a ball? Who's calling the place just throwing a ball in New England?
[01:02:28] There's office coordinator
[01:02:30] Because they basically running it back with the black billbellic check
[01:02:35] Like I don't think they that guy he took these a bellicic player
[01:02:41] coaching protégé
[01:02:43] New England just traded away their starting quarterback that Bailey Zappy who might not even on the contract
[01:02:50] And I'm going there because they got the third pick and they
[01:02:54] Who knows what they might do with that pick because Margaret Harrison should be sitting there at three
[01:03:00] If they don't draft the quarterback and I'm a tight-in who store me to ball
[01:03:06] And now like Loopers had a lot of productive years recently ever since you left Atlanta
[01:03:10] I don't really think that they have Hunter Henry too they resigned him as well, you know, so I know that
[01:03:17] You know the Bears
[01:03:21] I don't want to think that they're blowing smoke but
[01:03:25] The way that their handle in this Justin field situation
[01:03:30] Almost makes me wonder are they gonna keep them?
[01:03:36] I just think that they probably are I think they're being greedy
[01:03:43] You don't have the leverage because everyone knows you're drafting Kayla Williams
[01:03:49] Even if you don't really want to
[01:03:53] in
[01:03:55] Theory
[01:03:56] Because high-size 2020 will use revisionist history
[01:04:01] You pass on to Sean Watson and
[01:04:04] Realistically, you can play go the ACL tears scare me
[01:04:08] That is an honest thing you can say in your room
[01:04:12] In your draft room, but Mitchel Trabisky
[01:04:16] Played like 12 or 13 games
[01:04:18] And
[01:04:20] You picked him not only did you pick him?
[01:04:23] They moved up from three to two
[01:04:26] With San Francisco
[01:04:28] And San Francisco wasn't taking a quarterback
[01:04:31] They could as they gave up draft capital to go from three to two
[01:04:35] There's a lot of the else was going to do it
[01:04:38] Meanwhile
[01:04:40] To Sean Watson
[01:04:42] And
[01:04:42] Patch my homes went after Trabisky
[01:04:46] So I think they butchered that so badly so recently
[01:04:51] That
[01:04:53] They're just gonna just take
[01:04:56] Kayla mediums maybe that's what Carol Lennon is trying to be
[01:05:01] The new Chicago yeah the new Chicago, but uh
[01:05:05] You know so I figured Washington's gonna stay put
[01:05:08] Um at two you know, you don't think they're gonna go down and get McCarthy like go down to eat with Atlanta
[01:05:14] That's what I've heard on DC radio
[01:05:16] Uh that that's an idea that is floating around there
[01:05:20] But I don't think so um
[01:05:23] I think that is drink me
[01:05:26] That's what I think sometimes sometimes the the answer so simple
[01:05:33] I think you try to be the smartest person in the room and you screw yourself
[01:05:37] Yeah, just sometimes like listen I'm gonna take the six for five two and a twenty pound
[01:05:41] So does that mean the so does gotta try to move up because they brought in Sam Darnold
[01:05:46] Um, you know, I mean unless they're gonna keep Darnold in dogs
[01:05:50] But I don't think that's the move
[01:05:52] You know um you got some team out there is probably going to outthink
[01:05:57] Somebody out there might grab Ryan Tanahill
[01:06:00] Let me
[01:06:02] We pull the draft order real quick, you know as who
[01:06:06] Because you got Denver still out there with Jared Stidham
[01:06:10] You know but Denver's at 12
[01:06:12] Yeah, so they would have to move so between them and Minnesota
[01:06:15] I would think one of those two teams are gonna move up
[01:06:18] I think that
[01:06:19] They are more likely Minnesota is more likely just because you know
[01:06:24] Cousins gone now
[01:06:26] I think you already got Justin Jefferson asking out to some degree. I don't think you want to start your season with Sam Darnold
[01:06:35] So if we if we just look at it on faith value
[01:06:39] Chicago at one quarterback
[01:06:42] Washington is Kayla William
[01:06:44] Drake May new England
[01:06:46] Jay Daniels
[01:06:48] Possibly but they're a wild car because they do wild things like you know what I mean like I mean bell check is gone now
[01:06:54] So you would hope that they just do the right thing and take Jay Daniels
[01:06:59] But
[01:07:01] Just because they traded maggames
[01:07:03] I can see they trading down and doing something like
[01:07:07] Malik neighbors or something like just something wild like that
[01:07:10] I the fact that they traded maggames away
[01:07:16] Makes that position like clear cut need
[01:07:18] some to say
[01:07:20] Just be the smart person and pick
[01:07:23] Quarterback okay now is it Jane Daniels or do you get
[01:07:27] Do you get the JJ McCarthy hype and you take him third right?
[01:07:32] We'll see who's pro who goes with who's pro date then you got Arizona at four air is on at four
[01:07:41] I believe the chargers that five Chargers that five may giant fix
[01:07:46] Giants giants they have their quarterback
[01:07:51] Essentially, I don't know if you
[01:07:55] So we got three quarterbacks so far yeah Tennessee has their quarterback. Yeah
[01:08:01] Atlanta has their quarterback
[01:08:04] Chicago but Atlanta could
[01:08:08] Trade down with Minnesota and get like a pinnix or something because you know Kirk cousins looking at that deal
[01:08:15] They could get off of him in two years if necessary. I'm not but I'm not taking a quarterback
[01:08:21] I'm not taking a quarterback to week behind a guy just pay
[01:08:24] $180 million or $100 million to right right with eight yellow at eight when I can get
[01:08:30] I can get at that point we're looking
[01:08:33] Do the giants take neighbors at six
[01:08:36] possibly
[01:08:39] For them or do either more doons a and then you guys
[01:08:42] They take a doons a day or they take it off of some line because they got a young quarterback
[01:08:46] I think they go all close off the board. Yes, I think that's joe all then
[01:08:49] I think if I remember correctly Chicago's number nine
[01:08:52] Chicago's dying so if Atlanta if Atlanta goes why receiver than I was if I'm Chicago I'm trading out of nine
[01:08:59] Because I can't get one of these top three by receivers because I think they're all going by then
[01:09:04] The jets aren't taking a quarterback. So I think at 11. I think J.J. McCarthy could fall right in your lap if you Minnesota
[01:09:11] I don't know I don't know who other than
[01:09:18] Denver and Vegas
[01:09:23] I don't see another team after Minnesota that would jump up
[01:09:28] With the jets at 10 to take a quarterback
[01:09:32] So here's a question. So here's a question
[01:09:34] Minnesota's back and let you jump the nine because this is an division. I'm not like you get your quarterback. What do you do
[01:09:39] What do you do if your new Orleans?
[01:09:45] I think you're orange you ride with the fact that you have a veteran quarterback and you you drive
[01:09:51] I usually pull the quarterback. I don't think their cars are in front of you. You got james gone now
[01:09:58] You can pick up
[01:10:01] Uh a Brian Hoyer type not necessarily him but like one of these journey men
[01:10:05] You know you can go get Davis Mills back up
[01:10:10] Seattle. I don't think so. I don't think it would treat up to it per se but
[01:10:14] Geno's in the second year of that three year 105
[01:10:20] There you go you fill a need if you
[01:10:23] Because they got the running back room squared away. They got to find your room squared away. I don't like using the first round pick
[01:10:31] To
[01:10:32] Sure up a potential
[01:10:35] Quarterback. They won't be here next year
[01:10:37] But think about it like if you're Seattle if you're Seattle
[01:10:41] You have charbonne and Kenneth Walker
[01:10:43] You have locket smith and jigba and decay
[01:10:47] You know, you have uh, you have both your corners you got already
[01:10:52] So you know unless you need a linebacker because Bobby Wagner
[01:10:55] You know is a little long in the tooth if you will
[01:10:58] I would I wouldn't back up that position
[01:11:00] So maybe you can stay Wilson
[01:11:02] Maybe you get paid in Wilson out of NC state right there because what you could do there is like if I drive the linebacker
[01:11:09] I can put different packages in and effectively utilize
[01:11:15] This flyback I've wrapped in the first round
[01:11:17] Unless you get one of these
[01:11:19] Michael vick hybrid quarterbacks and you can put a pack a play package in form
[01:11:23] It's nothing I could do with this guy take 16 overall and he just sit behind you know
[01:11:28] like knives
[01:11:30] I'd rather if I'm gonna get a quarterback to sit I get a third round guy I get a fourth round guy to sit
[01:11:36] And just get like a veteran backup
[01:11:39] The problem is that the draft you need Carson wince to be you you get Carson wince to be your backup
[01:11:44] But I think that's the problem is that the draft isn't that deep, you know
[01:11:47] Like you got Michael Pratt in the third round possibly
[01:11:51] And then after that maybe spits a rattler and then once you get past rattler
[01:11:55] There's not much left
[01:11:57] Yeah, according to the projections
[01:11:59] But if you just say you know what I got there's a quarterback out of let's say it's a quarterback from
[01:12:06] I don't know give me a school
[01:12:09] Montana state
[01:12:11] 6 4
[01:12:12] 220
[01:12:15] All right numbers aren't great
[01:12:16] But let me bring them in as a fifth round guy see if he can hold the clipboard see if he can learn from Geno
[01:12:22] There's Geno is a big quarterback big pocket guy with a little athleticism
[01:12:26] Let me get something like that, but I would like I wouldn't use a first round pick on him
[01:12:30] especially when
[01:12:32] I'm in a division that
[01:12:35] I need I need to compete every week the Rams the Cardinals have an opportunity to mix roga moves
[01:12:41] Because Kyle Murray's back. They seem to kind of settle that relationship
[01:12:45] Their defense played very well they ran the ball great like I mean when they beat Dallas
[01:12:49] I had picked them in my survival league and they ran the ball like 200 yards on it for James Connor
[01:12:56] I'll terminate terminator
[01:12:58] So I think like I said I think between 11 12 13
[01:13:05] If I
[01:13:09] If Atlanta takes
[01:13:12] A wide receiver at eight the third one which probably will be Roman Tuesday
[01:13:17] Which I don't know if they do what they do because I mean they still got Matt Collins too right
[01:13:22] I believe so but
[01:13:24] If you want to like I said if you want to make the splash I'm like listen we gonna go
[01:13:28] Greatest show on turf. We got an eight or nine home games
[01:13:32] We barely selling out like we need to do something
[01:13:36] I think the defensive lineman. I think that was trying to be great there
[01:13:41] But I'm not sure like what an edge player. Especially knowing that they wanted to kneel you know
[01:13:46] So that definitely works out yeah works out but in the same sense is like I still need
[01:13:52] The free defensive tackle. What do you think with the edge?
[01:13:55] I like how much the world like how this turned into a draft conversation, but
[01:14:00] Well, it's like in the free agency kind of leaves okay. Okay now this team has gotten this in pre agency
[01:14:05] This is what they probably wouldn't go what do you think we see our first running back
[01:14:11] Second round
[01:14:13] Nobody in the first round. I don't think so because I don't think people value the position
[01:14:18] Maybe
[01:14:20] Kansas City, but I think Kansas City was so depleted at the or they just didn't have the playmakers of why receiver
[01:14:27] I think they're likely to make a why receiver move
[01:14:31] Maybe Tampa Bay they were like dead last and running for the last couple of years
[01:14:35] But the reason they're dead last and running is because they don't make
[01:14:39] They don't make running back priority
[01:14:41] So it's like drafting one is irrelevant if you're not going
[01:14:44] They were like a last of the temps last year
[01:14:45] Yars for carry yards for candy
[01:14:48] Says that you picked up Zach Moss
[01:14:51] So
[01:14:54] They could they could get a running back
[01:14:56] You know, they probably need another one behind him
[01:14:59] Um looking here
[01:15:01] Buffalo probably should get it right maybe one guy got James Cook last year or two years ago
[01:15:08] So he was the fourth leading Russia this year. So like maybe Dallas at 24 gets
[01:15:13] Uh, mr. Texas Kennedy Brooks. I mean uh
[01:15:17] Why do I keep doing that basketball player Jonathan Brooks
[01:15:21] Um as i'm looking here
[01:15:23] Texas
[01:15:24] Yeah, maybe they grab him
[01:15:28] Uh
[01:15:29] Yeah, that's probably about it
[01:15:32] Yes
[01:15:34] On this Kansas City grabs my guy out of Florida state
[01:15:37] Oh
[01:15:39] That's probably it if they're not going to bring back Edward's hilarious
[01:15:45] Then I can see them potentially but like i said, they were so
[01:15:49] They just lack playmakers at the YRC position
[01:15:53] I can see them not necessarily getting worthy in the first round
[01:15:58] But if they're like you know what
[01:16:02] We could probably get one of these running backs in the second round
[01:16:05] Let's just grab this guy and see if we can get him on some deep overalls
[01:16:09] Yeah, cuz I think it'll go
[01:16:11] Jonathan Brooks trade Benzen Blake Corham
[01:16:13] I think those will be your top three
[01:16:15] in that one
[01:16:17] And then after that it becomes a crap shoot of like
[01:16:21] Do i believe in Audrey Kestamey and so on so forth
[01:16:26] Let's see
[01:16:27] Kansas City has
[01:16:30] They got the one
[01:16:32] Was obviously to have Chaco
[01:16:34] We're just trying to see who has multiple picks in the second and third rounds
[01:16:40] Atlanta has a cup
[01:16:41] Couple of third round picks
[01:16:43] Kansas City is one
[01:16:48] So yeah, yeah, I think that's probably go
[01:16:50] I think Jonathan Brooks is going to be the first back off the board
[01:16:54] Maybe doubt like i said maybe Dallas they're the only team that i can look at right now
[01:16:58] That truthfully needs a running back
[01:17:01] Maybe the chargers if you don't buy Gus Edwards as
[01:17:08] Cuz even in Baltimore, you know, you still had justice hill
[01:17:11] You know you had other play it wasn't just him like he might have been the leader
[01:17:16] But it wasn't just him so maybe you get another back there. Did you have Joshua with Kelly
[01:17:22] So I guess it just depends on how hardball feels about him
[01:17:25] But you could trade back, you know from five and maybe that's another threat
[01:17:31] For somebody to get a running back i mean i'm sorry to get a quarterback
[01:17:37] Yeah, I think it's gonna be interesting. I think free agency has definitely been
[01:17:42] Interesting the the moves and the lack of moves
[01:17:46] Justin field still such a it's such a weird topic that they have it made a move with him
[01:17:54] And i mean we still got to see what's going to happen with Stefan digs and
[01:17:57] Justin Jefferson cuz you know those there's rumors out there
[01:18:01] You know i think
[01:18:05] Justin Jeffers out of Minnesota. I think it's a matter of
[01:18:09] Just waiting it out because um
[01:18:12] You're about to give me
[01:18:15] You're gonna give me this deal
[01:18:18] That's gonna be probably crazy
[01:18:20] 27 million
[01:18:22] At least he's probably gonna want somewhere in that range. He's gonna want say he's gonna want at least 25 million over
[01:18:27] three years
[01:18:28] Four years so a hundred million dollars
[01:18:31] But he then you don't have a starting quarterback to throw him the ball
[01:18:34] Right, so you're in the front office like do we give this guy a hundred million dollars
[01:18:40] And we don't have a
[01:18:42] Got it can get him the ball or do we
[01:18:46] You know trade him
[01:18:48] Do I get do we get you know do we send him that air zone air zone has three third round picks
[01:18:53] Do you take their first and a couple of their thirds?
[01:18:57] Justin Jefferson and Marvin Harrison junior huh?
[01:19:00] No, you got you gotta get you'd have to probably get four
[01:19:04] You'd have to like negotiate like you'll give us number four or i'll pick and we'll get you Justin Jefferson because if he
[01:19:10] Arizona you're looking like
[01:19:12] I'm getting
[01:19:15] The player that I want Marvin Harrison junior you to beat right
[01:19:19] So it's it's very similar to what
[01:19:22] AJ Brown and Tennessee did Tennessee just happened to draft a guy
[01:19:27] That didn't live up to what
[01:19:29] That K-A-J street and let's pass an outdoor camp. I think he just was sick. We'll go with that
[01:19:36] Let's say it was great
[01:19:38] But so yeah, I think the free agency market this year
[01:19:42] Because if we saw like you know if you look how the season played out last year
[01:19:47] Kansas City wasn't considered the best team
[01:19:49] For
[01:19:51] 80 part of the year
[01:19:52] I think even when they were like six and one
[01:19:55] They were winning games
[01:19:57] 24 to 20
[01:20:00] 24 17 24 14
[01:20:03] Right, and I would and I think and I think people have fillies of best team S and just go up there and then they went on a little streak
[01:20:10] So I think the league is it's pretty wide open
[01:20:12] I think that's probably one of the benefits
[01:20:13] That's why I blows my mind that team stay at the bottom like Carolina. It's like yo
[01:20:18] It's set up for you to
[01:20:20] Mealy turn your team around right the year you lose
[01:20:25] They give you opportunities to turn around and you gave away those picks
[01:20:31] And I see South man
[01:20:33] I see South just never know. It's like a box of chocolates
[01:20:36] AFC South Houston Houston came out and and wanted to visit so like the league is set up for you to turn it around right
[01:20:45] So I'm like the other
[01:20:47] Major
[01:20:49] Basically like was you better hope you better hope these shots fall because
[01:20:53] Nothing else is in place for you to succeed. Yeah
[01:20:58] So yeah, but that's the early free agency period ladies and gentlemen
[01:21:04] He is the even kill
[01:21:07] Mr. logical I am the other way to not two five
[01:21:11] We'll be back on Thursday
[01:21:13] You know saying probably with some more free agency will see what's popping
[01:21:17] In the sports world and Jason Tatum is not the MVP
[01:21:22] Love you America
[01:21:24] You know said you have a good night. We'll see you in a few days
[01:21:30] Peace
