What did Milwaukee expect? (01:30) Atlanta hired who? And around the Coaching Carousel. (06:30) Can the Chiefs shock the world? (55:15) Can San Francisco keep their kneecaps intact? (127:37)
[00:00:00] Yes, you are now listening to this bounce of sports reports as order. Just in case y'all don't know who we are on the other side of me.
[00:00:17] New Jerusalem, your B.A. Bread, your even kill, always rational.
[00:00:29] Absolutely.
[00:00:31] Don't bring feelings to a fact fight baby, let's go.
[00:00:37] He is Mr. Lodge, and I am the one and only.
[00:00:45] Beboy's own.
[00:00:47] Maryland, we need to build in two five.
[00:00:52] Tonight we're going to talk to you about some coaching news around the NFL.
[00:00:58] We got picks baby, it's Thursday night, AFT title game in Baltimore and FC title game in Santa Clara.
[00:01:06] So join a biggest move this is dip step.
[00:01:12] Sports Reports As Ordered.
[00:01:14] We use to kick off the show with a little something called get it off my chest and it starts right about now.
[00:01:23] So throughout life.
[00:01:25] We all go through the same struggle.
[00:01:28] Who am I?
[00:01:30] What am I?
[00:01:32] Where am I going?
[00:01:34] So as I watch sports, I see these teams that have identity problems.
[00:01:39] The Buffalo bills are they a contender?
[00:01:42] Are they a lead or are they just a team with an overrated quarterback?
[00:01:48] We'll see.
[00:01:49] But I want to talk about the association.
[00:01:52] There's a team that goes by the name of the Milwaukee Bucks, and if you didn't know any better,
[00:01:57] you would think they were a contender.
[00:02:00] They got this guy that they called the freak, Yannis, Anticoopo, or as I like to call them now GM to Coopo.
[00:02:07] Yannis because this off season there was a coach into Toronto assistant coach by the name of Adrian Griffin and Yannis said,
[00:02:16] I want him.
[00:02:18] So the Bucks brought them in, but this is the problem.
[00:02:21] It's 2024 now.
[00:02:23] The Bucks want a title back in.
[00:02:25] What was it?
[00:02:26] 2021.
[00:02:28] Yeah, that's something I want to go on our current standard.
[00:02:31] But yeah, three years ago, Yannis was the finals MVP or every drop 50 in the game clinch and the finals clinching game.
[00:02:39] 18 free throws.
[00:02:40] So from the two five perspective, if you want to win titles,
[00:02:45] you got to go get somebody that's been there before LeBron tried that with David Black.
[00:02:50] You can't just get these coaches off the street and think that you're going to win a title.
[00:02:55] So everybody in America knew that Milwaukee was not going to win the title this year with a dude named Adrian Griffin as their head coach.
[00:03:03] Right?
[00:03:04] Everybody knew that.
[00:03:05] So now the season starts and we have these incidents.
[00:03:08] We got Yannis while they're talking to players and coaches, Yannis in the background,
[00:03:13] drawing up plays trying to figure out what his coach called because he don't know what it was.
[00:03:17] We got Yannis sitting at the scores table to coach said come out the game, get over here.
[00:03:22] And Yannis just stays at the table after the game to coaches like I wanted to take him out the game to get a quick breath.
[00:03:28] I told him to stay you ain't tell him to stay at the scores table.
[00:03:31] He just blocked you out.
[00:03:33] We have Bobby Portis, Bobby Portis, the dude that punched his teammate in the face and broke his face.
[00:03:40] Remember that over in Chicago, broke somebody's face.
[00:03:44] He was sitting in the press conference talking about yo we need leadership.
[00:03:51] I'm tired of looking for leadership all while undermining their head coach.
[00:03:55] So once the new year hit everybody said yo, Adrian Griffin's on the hot seat.
[00:04:00] And these rumors were going around yesterday they fired him.
[00:04:04] Now the question that I asked, who are you Milwaukee?
[00:04:08] Who did you think you were?
[00:04:10] Because if you thought that you were a championship contender, you would not hire this non-descript in the first place.
[00:04:17] So then not only do they trade Captain Drew holiday, you know the perimeter of defense of God that they had.
[00:04:26] True.
[00:04:27] And now they're sitting up here talking about our defense is bad but the problem is, you know what the problem is?
[00:04:33] The problem is they're fourth in 3.0 percentage defense.
[00:04:37] They're 25th in the paint.
[00:04:41] That ain't got nothing to do with Damien Miller who shooting percentages down 7% from two this year.
[00:04:48] I don't know if that's coaching what I do know is that that's a old dude that's about to be on the hook for a lot of money.
[00:04:56] Like $60 million that you're probably going to be stuck with and then you go get Doc Rivers who won a championship.
[00:05:03] Let's say 16 years ago that people still.
[00:05:07] Celebrated championship ever.
[00:05:09] Celebrated like it happened yesterday, you know, and here he is.
[00:05:13] He was a consultant with the team and now he creeps right on in.
[00:05:17] And I'm supposed to trust the guy that couldn't get Joel and me James Harden and Tyrese Maxi with a little bit of Tobias Harris past the second round.
[00:05:28] I was supposed to trust this guy that started the NBA season always 19 with Tracy McGrady.
[00:05:36] I was supposed to trust this guy that didn't win another title after that title in 2008.
[00:05:44] The boss of three party for somehow come to Milwaukee and be the answer.
[00:05:50] The only answer I know is Alan.
[00:05:54] Shut up VA.
[00:05:56] So let me tell you a little something about the Milwaukee bugs.
[00:06:00] You fucked up now.
[00:06:05] So Mr. logical.
[00:06:08] There's some coach it news.
[00:06:11] A little bit, a little bit.
[00:06:13] I heard that the Atlanta Falcons have a new coach.
[00:06:16] They made a move, they made a move.
[00:06:19] And I heard that you were living.
[00:06:22] All right, live it is a stretch.
[00:06:25] That's a stretch.
[00:06:27] A more.
[00:06:30] Concerned with the.
[00:06:34] This team just kind of operate on the status quo.
[00:06:38] Raheem Morris was an MC South head coach with the Bucking Ears.
[00:06:43] He was an assistant in different capacities and then interim coach with the Atlanta Falcons.
[00:06:49] Few years back.
[00:06:50] So he already kind of have a resume on him.
[00:06:53] You already know.
[00:06:56] I'm not saying he can't improve, but you already know as a right now.
[00:06:59] I think it's record something like 21 and 38 is a head coach.
[00:07:04] That stretch from 2015 to 2020.
[00:07:07] We mixed in the Atlanta Falcons Super Bowl run.
[00:07:11] The defense was playing great.
[00:07:14] But that's where the points, the leads and the collapses were happening.
[00:07:19] And as we watched years pass by.
[00:07:23] I was.
[00:07:24] And I'm always somewhere in public.
[00:07:26] I was at the bar for brunch on Sunday, watching them.
[00:07:30] When they told Todd Gurley not to score and you scored and.
[00:07:34] Massed that for came back down against Detroit and scored and won the game.
[00:07:37] Touchdown past TZ Hocketson.
[00:07:39] I watched him not fall on an onside kick against Dallas and blow like a 15 point lead.
[00:07:45] In the last couple of minutes, I watched them blow leads to the Bears.
[00:07:50] And it just was happening so often to where the second half.
[00:07:55] In the ability to adjust to games is happening week to week to week the week.
[00:07:59] He was on those tests.
[00:08:02] You fired the head coach put him in place and then allowed him to go.
[00:08:07] Advances careers defense coordinated rams up and yes, he probably did a remarkable job there.
[00:08:12] But you've already been down that path.
[00:08:16] And I'm not saying he's not a good coach. I'm not saying he's not a good person.
[00:08:21] But think about like an ex you had, you picked them.
[00:08:26] You dated for a while.
[00:08:27] You broke up.
[00:08:28] You split.
[00:08:29] You improve yourself.
[00:08:30] They improved themselves and you kind of like have a conversation to see if they're okay.
[00:08:34] This might work.
[00:08:35] But when you think about it, like the core reasons that you guys split the first time are still the same thing.
[00:08:42] So now everything's going to be viewed through that lens.
[00:08:45] Any kind of argument is going to be viewed to like, well, we had the same argument four years ago.
[00:08:50] And look at it turned out, are you going to really work on it?
[00:08:53] Are you going to give Rahim?
[00:08:55] Are you going to give him a full season?
[00:08:57] They start out two and seven.
[00:09:01] They go into the buy.
[00:09:02] Is he going to be the coach after the buy because you already know what you're getting because you already have his record at 21 to 38.
[00:09:09] And everyone's talking about the bill, Bella check.
[00:09:11] We talked about the rumors and all of that.
[00:09:13] I was like, I'd rather you either get a full on established winning coach.
[00:09:19] Or just start over a new with some of these other coaches that these other teams got.
[00:09:25] You can marry that up with the new quarterback and be like, okay, this is their growth together.
[00:09:32] I got another guy that got 60 games in a wrist belt.
[00:09:35] I can't be like, oh, he's growing.
[00:09:38] Like you already got 60 games on the get belt.
[00:09:40] Like you should be in a better position.
[00:09:42] We should you started now 72 next year with the amount of experience you have as a head coach and as an assistant.
[00:09:49] All these last 10 years.
[00:09:51] Yeah, you know the best thing about the Falcons higher in Rahim Morris.
[00:09:57] The fact that the Rams get two draft picks for having a minority on their staff.
[00:10:04] That got a job.
[00:10:06] Yeah, you made another NFC team better.
[00:10:10] Yeah, they did that too.
[00:10:12] So you know Rahim Morris.
[00:10:15] People feel as if he got an unfair deal in Atlanta because as you mentioned, he was the interim coach.
[00:10:22] They started O and five.
[00:10:23] Dan Quinn got fired.
[00:10:25] He came in one four games.
[00:10:27] And the only thing I'll say about that is coach prom one four games and people are ready to build a statue.
[00:10:33] You know now with that being said, I don't like the high.
[00:10:38] You know because when I think of Rahim Morris, I think of double up.
[00:10:43] What do I mean by double up when it's third and six?
[00:10:46] He got the corners 12 yards away.
[00:10:49] When it's third and three, he got the corner six yards away.
[00:10:52] This is what he does.
[00:10:54] You know, I think I hope that he learned some lessons.
[00:10:58] That's all you can't hope for is that he learned some lessons throughout his.
[00:11:02] I mean, I think that's all the time he learned some lessons.
[00:11:05] He had an amazing experience.
[00:11:07] He was a great coach for the first time in his life.
[00:11:09] He had a 10 and 6 year in Tampa.
[00:11:12] A company bought some 313 and 412 obviously because he's 3038.
[00:11:16] Yeah, the record bounced out.
[00:11:18] They had a record bounced out.
[00:11:19] So you know as I look at it,
[00:11:22] I told you this what like two three weeks ago.
[00:11:24] We were in the group talking about.
[00:11:26] Yo, why are the Falcons or all these teams announcing who they're interviewing?
[00:11:30] What are the fans hope for the fans because I knew I knew without a doubt.
[00:11:35] Like listen, people kind of get mad at me when I.
[00:11:38] Act like this kind of prog maxi-cator that knows everything.
[00:11:42] But I mean sometimes I just do.
[00:11:44] I knew they were going to post all these interviews.
[00:11:47] So all the fans would get excited about.
[00:11:50] Harbaugh, Bella check, Vray roll.
[00:11:53] And I'm not like I'm not I'm gonna give credit to Colin.
[00:11:56] I'll get to Colin.
[00:11:57] Cause he said it's I was thinking about he said it out loud.
[00:11:59] He was like those guys weren't Atlanta was not interviewing Jim Harbaugh.
[00:12:04] They were not interviewing Bill Bill and chick.
[00:12:06] They were not interviewing by Vray board.
[00:12:08] Those guys were interviewing the Falcons saying why should I come here?
[00:12:13] And they put on their PowerPoint slides and all the numbers and the cap and everything else.
[00:12:20] They tried to sell the team to these coaches.
[00:12:23] It wasn't the other way around.
[00:12:25] So like I said, I'm like we're going to push all these interviews and end up hiring like some special teams coordinator from Seattle or somewhere that had a good punting.
[00:12:35] You know season because that was going to happen because that's what the Falcons do.
[00:12:40] They're not they don't make decisions that.
[00:12:44] They don't throw caution to the win even when it's like time for less need with the.
[00:12:51] The Rams after they want to see both credit he said this after they hosted a trophy.
[00:12:56] Efton picks.
[00:12:58] But he had to make that decision prior to.
[00:13:01] Granted, he had Aaron Donald and he got he looked up with the staffer Jerry golf.
[00:13:07] Whatever situation they cause that to make that trade viable.
[00:13:12] But that's in and of itself is a difference between Atlanta and these other teams.
[00:13:18] We're going to talk about Carolina because I'm going to talk about his other teams but I'm going to talk about everybody.
[00:13:23] But just but like I said, you know it goes back to Atlanta taking B. John Robinson number eight overall.
[00:13:30] I'm not saying he's not a talented player.
[00:13:33] But you you needed to bolster the defense which you didn't free agency they brought in a lot of defensive players for agency so.
[00:13:45] Go heavy the defense build that up that way.
[00:13:50] The Joe Flacco Baltimore Ravens you know kind of philosophy to head.
[00:13:55] They didn't put a lot of offensive talent around Joe Flacco they just kept getting them to ball at the 48.
[00:14:01] With interceptions of fumble so he only had to go.
[00:14:05] 2030 yards or 15 20 yards to get in the field go rings.
[00:14:08] So Baltimore could win a lot of games 20 to 14 or 20 to 13 because they were getting takeaways.
[00:14:15] They were getting punched and you know what they were just doing all things because they had that a stack defense.
[00:14:19] Atlanta had that opportunity and they decided, you know what?
[00:14:24] They decided to.
[00:14:34] We have a lot of people chime in there appreciate that but like I said, I don't think he's a bad coach.
[00:14:40] I just don't know that he's going to get the time he needs to build on a team that needs some structure needs some architectural work needs some ground some found some foundational work.
[00:14:55] Right.
[00:14:56] If it doesn't start off great.
[00:14:58] It's going to be like man, then we make a mistake instead of just starting out fresh.
[00:15:02] They were like do we make a mistake bring this guy back?
[00:15:05] What I'm making back with my ex type thing.
[00:15:07] Yeah that's why I like your ex analogy because I would like to think that if I blew a Super Bowl 28 to three.
[00:15:15] I don't want any remnants of that around me.
[00:15:18] I'm not trying to wear that shirt no more.
[00:15:20] I'm not trying to go back there to the same office.
[00:15:22] Yeah, like it was my lucky shirt at one time until it got a hole in it.
[00:15:27] Same owner same girl.
[00:15:30] It's no new nothing's new every like you're literally running it back to a bad time.
[00:15:36] But you brought up Jim Harbaugh as well and you know we had that conversation I've been a proponent of Jim Harbaugh is going to go to the chargers because they have the quarterback.
[00:15:48] You know they have talent galore they probably going to have to lose some of it you know just because of cat space and all that kind of stuff.
[00:15:54] They have the fourth worst cat space.
[00:15:57] Yeah and that's the other thing they kind of like mass some of these decisions is like.
[00:16:03] It looks great because you have just a her that's why this this this narrative that is quarterback driven league.
[00:16:09] It's going to cause Harbaugh a little bit of pain.
[00:16:12] I don't think he's going to have that much success with the chargers.
[00:16:15] I'm going to say first.
[00:16:18] Okay, okay because time out time out define that much success.
[00:16:23] Well you're going to lose.
[00:16:26] You're going to lose.
[00:16:28] Okay the wives who would rap pick you got last year.
[00:16:32] Clinton Johnson.
[00:16:34] I think he might have had a few hundred yards receiving maybe like 330 or 400 yards if that.
[00:16:41] Well Mike Williams can't stay healthy.
[00:16:45] Keenan Allen.
[00:16:48] There's 60 million dollar cap hit between the two of them.
[00:16:52] Khalil Mac and Bosa another 50 million or something like that in their cap hit.
[00:16:57] So that's four players you got during James you you have talent but you're paying this talent.
[00:17:03] So much your pan them as if they have gotten you to 11 and 12 wins over the times as you've been paying them.
[00:17:12] Your pan for their talent but you're not getting the results.
[00:17:16] Well you got a new coach coming in he's got the strip some of that down we haven't heard anything about Kellin Moore
[00:17:21] I saw something about he's going to interview for another O.C. position so maybe he's gotten word that he might not be you retain.
[00:17:27] I doubt he would.
[00:17:29] I mean you don't know so what that being said is that getting new pieces and while instilling his philosophy.
[00:17:41] And then you got to wonder is Justin Herbert was he Carson wins remember Carson wants to have that great year when he's going to be MVP and then he tried to dive into the end zone towards ACL.
[00:17:52] They haven't been the same since it might have been situation where you have the great rookie year.
[00:17:59] And that is your ceiling and everything else is going to be less than that.
[00:18:04] Going to lose Austin Eccler.
[00:18:06] Lose Austin Eccler you're not going to be you're going to be you're never you won't go into any season as the favorite to win your division.
[00:18:17] So the best is you're looking at it number five C you're not going to be.
[00:18:22] The thing is though is that I'm all the winner you know harbors a winner you know throughout his first 10 year in NFL 44 19 and one you know second best winning percentage with at least 50 games coached you know I think that he brings culture and attitude like remember we talked about that earlier where Bill Bella check would have bought Atlanta.
[00:18:43] And then you know the thing is that we can win culture.
[00:18:46] The idea that we can win so on so forth I think harbors brings that in because when I look at Brandon stale you know he was the defensive coordinator for the Rams but the Rams is obviously shaming they show there's some training away everything to stack their defense and they traded everything away and that's why we could call that.
[00:19:06] People do the whole the Rams won the Super Bowl with Matt Stafford not jerk golf and i'm like yeah because they brought in bond Miller O del Beckham you know it wasn't just one for one.
[00:19:17] You know what I mean so with the chargers I think they're going to have a slow year one but I just trust Jim harbors that he's going to instill the culture there now as far as you're just at her point I don't know because we saw this guy throw 700 passes in the season only have 25 touchdown passes.
[00:19:35] So is he a lead in the first place or is he just a date like it's all armed that what is he just a dude with a strong arm that throws a lot.
[00:19:44] I think he's like we were talking about in the in our first podcast we were on tonight he just a real good locker room guy just a real Jim a real study guy first in last out just he says all the right things he does all the right things and they're going to pay him accordingly.
[00:20:03] And they're going to get Philip Rivers 2.0 he's going to be fifth or sixth amongst his contemporaries they're going to put him out of playoffs either through the in the regular season where he's not going to make it or he's going to match up with his contemporaries and get beat out because he makes great throws but I have
[00:20:23] I got a couple of you know video clips of Brock party you know doing things in the playoffs that are leading to winning.
[00:20:30] I have Trevor Lawrence coming back from 27 points now you have tons of evidence of my home you have Stafford these guys that you know can really galvanize the team I don't have a lot of that with Justin Herbert what I have is a guy who looks to part acts to part got paid the part they paid him like he's Joe Burrell.
[00:20:52] But what you but what you do have is to some degree within reason you have a manageable division to get to the playoffs you know Andy read where they're in the air yeah like like you are the biggest you are the biggest Sean Peyton critic I ever met in my life and they're going to lose Brussels Wilson probably this off season the Raiders just boarded Antonio Pierce.
[00:21:22] And they got Jimmy Garoppolo in eight and no con on that quarterback you know who knows there's been rumors that Andy read may step down you know and if he even if he doesn't step down this year was he got another two or three years.
[00:21:36] Something along those lines so you have what harbors of four year he's a college student plane he gets his refreshment as a senior.
[00:21:46] So your pain that's the thing it's it's different at Michigan I'm not saying harbors can't be a great coach it's just that I don't know if his coaching is is great enough to overcome the fact that you got five dudes they're going to be taking a major chunks of your cap hit and three of them injury prone.
[00:22:11] And the two of them three of them also get old key now is old leg room is pretty been lead for while Khalil Max been around for a while and joy Bolsa he misses a lot of time so you're putting a lot of a lot of emphasis on.
[00:22:28] Harbors success at other places I think his success at other places because I don't think there was an expectation for him to be successful we talked about that earlier.
[00:22:40] On the other on the hot box is that I think sometimes you grade your season against the preseason expectations not the result i'm not sure what the expectation was when he took over with Alex Smith's as a score I think they were they were doing pretty bad for years.
[00:22:58] And then Alex Smith was on he was on the verge of being a number one pick being a bus and you know Raleigh's career did he brought in Kaapanic.
[00:23:06] And then when it was like okay this might not work out he went to Michigan.
[00:23:12] But I don't think that's why he went to Michigan though there was just a lot of work don't you think he would have been like hey I got a team that can get back to the Super Bowl year of the year of the year you think it's going to be.
[00:23:21] On the every thing that I had read there was a lot of turmoil between him and the ownership and.
[00:23:27] That's just the type of dude that he is.
[00:23:29] So we'll back with your point to get back to the Super Bowl you ignore it.
[00:23:33] If I can be a Super Bowl winning head coach i'll ignore i'm Jimmy Johnson but because Jerry Jones.
[00:23:41] Yeah but you don't get to make that decision.
[00:23:44] Yes but it's like I can ignore what's going on up here because i'm out here I'm out here feeling the championship team no matter what they say about me or how they feel about me when they look at the window they know that i'm the head coach.
[00:23:57] Of this championship quality team yes i know that Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson situation kind of fills it out but.
[00:24:05] The Harbour always seemed like a guy that had options of one foot out the door all the time and i'm not sure if the charges are getting the guy that's full let's fill in because once you get there realize you can't stack your team.
[00:24:20] And you got it really like he was that Michigan he wasn't at Ohio State or Georgia or Alabama did what about there 133.
[00:24:31] Yeah 133 million out of the whole facility they think they were a hundred and fifty three players that you're talking about though like they had Blake Corham but they didn't have like Trevor Lawrence or something they had a hundred and 63 million dollar facility.
[00:24:47] Yeah they will be instructed on the board Georgia Ohio State yeah but guess who doesn't have that.
[00:24:54] I'm talking out of all those schools I just said.
[00:24:57] They didn't have that kind of facility they don't like everybody that kind of thing that's what I'm saying so think about 163 million dollar houses how crazy they look they had that one football facility not sports complex their football facility was $163 million.
[00:25:14] It's big time cause football the charges are notorious for being cheap those owners are notorious for being cheap they fired coaches behind because they're.
[00:25:26] Yeah they're spending this money to get him but that's why they're always that's why they they overpaid they because they're so notorious to be in cheap they overpaid for players that aren't going to last like I said I like I like Harboh I think it's going to be I think he's a good coach I don't think the success that everyone's going to jump.
[00:25:43] Because people are going to have they're going to have the charges makes here 12 and 5 people I think they can.
[00:25:51] Watch you watch the high perberally and like the the antics that people go with because it's harrow how much personality is very similar to like the most part like there's still I'm sure they're going to go get some white receivers the fixed their problems like a deon great Hopkins or something like that.
[00:26:12] And you know what I think that the chargers should feel we'll see what actually happens but they're still ahead of the radars right now.
[00:26:30] They landed the biggest fish they definitely landed the biggest fish of all the coach and hires.
[00:26:38] And we still have two that are remaining I don't know bellish.
[00:26:43] He ain't going to get no he's not but but while we're there these Carolina Panthers hired Mr. David canellus canellus and I'm trying to figure out why so I saw that he's you know he has experience as a quarterback coach why receiver coach this was his first year as an office of coordinator and Tampa.
[00:27:07] And I was like 12 years or so.
[00:27:15] I think he did some college stuff before that but he so he was off his accorded for one year right and I know the wave is higher the hot office accordator but he's not the hot office accordator yeah not at all.
[00:27:30] And I guess I'll throw a whole lot of paul is on all of that too but you know but as I look at this you know they were 18th and points per game.
[00:27:41] They were 20th or sorry 27th and rush yards per game last in yards per carry like where is this office that I'm supposed to be impressed by that they were 20th and total yards.
[00:27:57] I'm going to throw you another number real quick week 18 Tampa Bay has to be Carolina to win the division they put up points.
[00:28:06] So you saw this guy against your terrible defense.
[00:28:12] Your terrible teen has fallen apart that the owners are here throwing drinks at Jacksonville maybe to drop it for like right more.
[00:28:21] And you're like that guy that put a nine points on our mediocre defense is the guy to be our head coach.
[00:28:29] Carolina doesn't want to win some I think some teams just don't want to win.
[00:28:35] I believe Carolina.
[00:28:36] It reminds me of that jade of kiss.
[00:28:39] I'm just happy to be here you know.
[00:28:43] Yeah, I don't know what temper is doing.
[00:28:45] He don't know what he's doing throwing drinks at the fans and all this he got a whole lot of mess going on.
[00:28:50] Carolina is just did be away you know I don't think they should have got rid of Frank right in the first place and if you were going to get rid of Frank right.
[00:28:59] You would at least do a little bit better on the higher you know from the standpoint of Frank right regardless of how you feel about him.
[00:29:07] He had coach and experience so you would think maybe hey maybe we need somebody with a little more.
[00:29:13] It must be hard to work with.
[00:29:15] Gotta be something because I don't think any should have fired him when they did it either he is either he's arrogant.
[00:29:22] He's an asshole or he just doesn't listen like he doesn't take where do you be arrogant if you almost had Carson which is an MVP.
[00:29:32] It has to be it has to be something tangible because we talked about being in the years one of one of our early episodes when we first started to show child all the fans have been watching this whole time.
[00:29:42] But is like it has to be something with him as an individual that says you know what.
[00:29:50] In these moments where no one else understands it because we didn't understand it when they got fired in Indy.
[00:29:55] We didn't understand like when we heard it was like that I make any sense and we can see this like from now so I looking at it we looked at the Indy situation got fired.
[00:30:05] And then with Carolina you knew when you trade away all these picks and trade away a couple of good players to get to the number one pick to draft a rookie no matter what his size is I know I bang on the lightest guy's sizes but just a rookie just a guy learning the game.
[00:30:22] Your expectations couldn't be with CJ Strout there was an anomaly but CJ Strout wasn't a trajectory when they fired Frank right you know so it just was a weird like the whole process is just very very weird.
[00:30:37] So even higher in this guy that was in division that you saw then the last game when it was like when and you're in your game plan only.
[00:30:49] Mustard up nine points against a handful of guys that were like man i'm done in Carolina we talk about player turned over like 53 men active roster like 2018 to 25 of those guys aren't going to be with the team next year like the guys on a 53 man roster on week 18 most of those guys are moving on so it's like Carolina got the bears the number one draft pick with like three or four games left ago.
[00:31:17] It was locked in you know it was already locked in you know what I mean but hey I just had a thought though if Andy read the step down.
[00:31:26] Because like I said it's been rumors you know I don't know how they are I thought on NBA on NBC sports that on today for example but they got a higher enemy right.
[00:31:40] If no one else does.
[00:31:44] He would have to be candidate one you can give naggy to.
[00:31:53] If you want to keep it in house right right right if you want to keep familiar if you want to keep the verbage if you want to keep.
[00:32:03] You know the past codes and the office locations in the parking spots those those have to be one two three but I don't know maybe there's.
[00:32:15] Maybe the bringing beginning me back might not be what we think maybe his departure was a little bit more abrupt and it was it was it wasn't an amicable.
[00:32:26] I know you got to find somebody new kind of like you know when you're in the homes against Indy like you know going into halftime all upset at each other or whatever and now and that was just happened.
[00:32:40] Everybody yeah everybody.
[00:32:43] I love it.
[00:32:45] Brian it would be celebrated but but as we continue you know the Raiders decided to the hang on to Antonio Pierce which surprised me i'm happy to see it but i'm surprised.
[00:32:56] I'm surprised because I'm surprised because I like I always feel like it's the interim coach is always tough for me because they say you you fired a head coach you bring an interim coach.
[00:33:17] But that guy was on the staff so the lack of success has to be on his shoulders as well.
[00:33:26] But in the same sense i've also noticed where they brought in like the coach brought in just Saturday last year from outside of the staff and it didn't work at all.
[00:33:38] I believe the player support of Antonio Pierce.
[00:33:43] I think the showmanship of the lost Vegas Raiders because the Raiders are always like they're probably the biggest showman team in the league.
[00:33:52] They're in Vegas they need to sell that stadium.
[00:33:56] I think the players responded to him so.
[00:34:02] I saw the Kansas City cheese game where their quarterback didn't complete a pass in a second half.
[00:34:08] I saw them win game 17 the 16 it wasn't like Antonio Pierce came with this so he just came with a different attitude.
[00:34:19] The attitudes not going to be enough come August.
[00:34:23] So from now until August is going to have to be a real identity and you have to figure like is it going to be Jimmy Grapelo.
[00:34:32] It's going to be eight and a conno or we're going to get another third round quarterback or we're going to try to call Arizona and see if they will in a move off Calamari will take on that money.
[00:34:42] Like you're going to have to do something drastic because you didn't do anything drastic with the coaching higher for a team that needs something you need something offensively.
[00:34:51] Do you move Devante Adams for a couple of first round picks and try to supplement your team with that way because you don't really have that many assets on the team.
[00:35:02] But higher net 20 appears as good if if the players wanted it and they owner listen I think you're on the right path.
[00:35:09] So yeah, you have Max Cross be talking about asking for a trade if they didn't hire him and they went five and four with them won their first game against Kansas City since 2020.
[00:35:20] At arrowhead no less you know, but in the same game that the quarterback didn't complete a pass in a second half.
[00:35:28] Hey, the name of the game is touchdowns.
[00:35:30] Hello, you play to win the game.
[00:35:32] They got two touchdowns and seven seconds of defensive or office of blunders that turned into the touchdowns by Kansas.
[00:35:39] And obviously like he had them playing hard, but at the same time.
[00:35:45] He did go five and four, but one of those four was a three nothing lost at home to Minnesota.
[00:35:51] But then they came back and dropped 63.
[00:35:54] Yeah, they played Miami tough.
[00:35:57] So the players obviously heard whatever message he was given.
[00:36:01] But like you said, I agree with that is that the season is going to start preseason is going to get here's going to be time to hit people.
[00:36:09] And you're going to need to do a little bit more than talking.
[00:36:13] You know, so there you got Tennessee with the son of Bill.
[00:36:18] Brian Callahan who wasn't even calling his own plays in Cincinnati.
[00:36:24] What we thinking that's not even a topic because the interview candidate wasn't Eric being in me.
[00:36:29] We haven't even brought that up because it happens more often than that where the offensive coordinator doesn't call a play is gets hired.
[00:36:38] Because I like, as a Falcons fan, I wish somebody else was calling the plays in Atlanta and Arthur Smith.
[00:36:44] Was just standing there, just wearing a hat like with a microphone that wouldn't connect it and not making any decisions at all.
[00:36:51] That's me.
[00:36:55] I don't know how that's going to work.
[00:36:57] I know they're going to strip down their offense.
[00:37:01] Because you can't keep me, will is 10 Hill and will let us.
[00:37:06] Derek, they're going to be guard.
[00:37:08] Derek Henry was given a fill word towards since November.
[00:37:12] Deandre Hopkins is going to ask out.
[00:37:15] Ask out.
[00:37:16] I don't even know why he signed that deal.
[00:37:19] That was definitely one of those money.
[00:37:21] I think that was only team that was giving an offer to many thing at that time.
[00:37:25] I think they were the only team that was offering many things probably close what he was asking for.
[00:37:29] Yeah.
[00:37:30] He probably would have been better off going to Kansas City for $8 million.
[00:37:33] Hey, he still might.
[00:37:36] All right, not now because they're looking at like an hour, you six.
[00:37:41] You know, you don't want to be into the sea.
[00:37:43] Yeah.
[00:37:44] I like it.
[00:37:45] Like I said, it's the same thing that I said about the Falcons.
[00:37:50] If you're going to start over, start over.
[00:37:53] Right.
[00:37:54] Give me a fresh guy.
[00:37:56] Give him an opportunity.
[00:37:58] Give him a couple of years.
[00:37:59] It's going to be it's going to be growing pains for every one of these coaches.
[00:38:02] The same way it is growing pains for rookie right tackles.
[00:38:06] Rookie punters, rookie kickers.
[00:38:09] You know, first year owners as David Tepper, he's been struggling ever since he bought the team.
[00:38:15] And Carolina, it just it's going to take time.
[00:38:18] You rarely catch, you know, lightning in the bottle with these with these hires.
[00:38:24] But I pair him with the young world levis.
[00:38:28] I move up from Malik Willis the easiest way that I can maybe maybe if he's willing to stay as a backup as a gadget quarterback.
[00:38:36] Like how they do a lot of college quarterbacks where your running guy comes in for your wild cat type plays.
[00:38:43] If he's willing to do that and still be a backup quarterback, then I'll keep him.
[00:38:48] Whatever you can do with the tanning hand deal.
[00:38:51] Montana hill deal.
[00:38:53] I mean.
[00:38:56] Yeah, he got to go.
[00:38:58] You got it.
[00:38:59] You got to tear down.
[00:39:00] If you tear it down.
[00:39:02] You know, running back with the young head coach and the young start.
[00:39:07] I mean, I think that's the reason why I'm going to get into that part of the show too.
[00:39:10] I got the Kobe on going, you know, I'm saying we have an idea.
[00:39:13] You know, that's how you know it's real.
[00:39:16] So there's two teams left that need a need a head coach.
[00:39:20] My beloved Washington commanders.
[00:39:24] I imagine they're looking at one of these four core one of these.
[00:39:28] I got a list right here.
[00:39:31] You got a.
[00:39:32] So this is the list of potential candidates.
[00:39:35] You got Ben Johnson offensive coordinator.
[00:39:38] Right line Bobby slow.
[00:39:41] You know, from the Texas who was formerly on Washington staff.
[00:39:45] Mike McDonald, you know, the Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator.
[00:39:50] Aaron go in the Detroit lines defensive coordinator.
[00:39:55] He's the President of the state.
[00:39:57] You know, I'm so happy to represent the state of the state.
[00:40:00] Who has a marketing partner with a community member,
[00:40:03] the president, who is the captain.
[00:40:06] Weaver.
[00:40:08] Who is the Ravens associate coach slash.
[00:40:10] Defense of line coach.
[00:40:12] You know, so we'll see how big Of a candidate he actually is.
[00:40:14] You know, so out of that list.
[00:40:16] You know, I'm on board with Mike McDonald.
[00:40:19] The president of the Ravens.
[00:40:20] shot because he got hired by the old regime.
[00:40:22] That's what I'm thinking.
[00:40:23] They say that he got an interview, you know,
[00:40:25] he did get an interview allegedly.
[00:40:27] So we'll see.
[00:40:28] But yeah, that's what I think it is.
[00:40:30] And you can't quantify the offensive.
[00:40:34] Like you know how I was talking about Canalus earlier
[00:40:37] about you know, Washington's offense didn't
[00:40:41] was as bad as their defense was.
[00:40:44] You know, they were starting to first year quarterback.
[00:40:47] Sam, how got Sam.
[00:40:48] How he had he got sack as he held into the ball up.
[00:40:51] But he got a lot of yards and you get passing yards
[00:40:53] for a couple of weeks.
[00:40:56] You know, so I mean with Ben with Ben Johnson,
[00:41:00] you know, it sounds like he's riding that wave
[00:41:05] of look at the Detroit Lions right now.
[00:41:07] And they're in the NFC championship game.
[00:41:09] Jerrick golf looks but Washington
[00:41:11] doesn't have a Jerrick golf or anything close to it.
[00:41:14] So I just don't know enough about him as far as is he a leader.
[00:41:19] So do you mean Drake out there?
[00:41:21] Not Aubrey.
[00:41:22] Yeah, no we ain't no without doing that.
[00:41:25] You know, then you got Seattle,
[00:41:27] then you got Seattle who last I saw they had requested
[00:41:31] to interview Mike Vable.
[00:41:33] But they have gone interviews with Patrick Graham
[00:41:37] who was the Raiders the Fizzle Coordinator
[00:41:39] and hero and Verro who was the chargers.
[00:41:42] I'm sorry the chargers.
[00:41:43] The Panthers the Fizzle Coordinator Frank Smith.
[00:41:46] How's that guy get in interview?
[00:41:48] Yeah.
[00:41:50] Frank Smith who is the office of coordinator down in Miami.
[00:41:54] And of course last but not least,
[00:41:56] the fearless leader of the Legion of Boom, Dan Quinn.
[00:42:01] If I'm Dan, the Dan, okay, so to bring it back,
[00:42:06] I know I talk about my team a lot.
[00:42:08] You guys have noticed that as we follow the show,
[00:42:11] Dan Quinn going back to Seattle
[00:42:15] is the equivalent of Rahim Moore's going back to Atlanta.
[00:42:19] It did not end well.
[00:42:21] Like the whole like he laughed, he went to Atlanta
[00:42:25] and he tried to establish a Legion of Boom down Atlanta
[00:42:27] and then at least the boom fell apart in Seattle
[00:42:30] and they had a good glue on it
[00:42:32] because they had Russell Wilson still.
[00:42:35] But bring a Dan Quinn back,
[00:42:37] doesn't bring back what Pete Carroll did for your organization.
[00:42:41] It just brought back a guy that worked for Pete Carroll.
[00:42:44] So that's the piece that baffles me.
[00:42:48] Seattle's one of those teams,
[00:42:50] they need to get a coach that's established now
[00:42:54] because their prime players are not rookies.
[00:42:59] They're not using a drive pick to their draft,
[00:43:02] this next current draft to rebuild their team.
[00:43:06] They have a team that's ready to go 10 and 7.
[00:43:10] I don't want to say when now because,
[00:43:12] but they have a 10 and 17.
[00:43:14] They have a 10 and seven roster.
[00:43:15] I mean, they were a game away from the playoffs this year.
[00:43:18] Yeah, so they have a 10 and 7 and NFC
[00:43:22] is probably going to get you in.
[00:43:23] I know there's always like some new ones to it
[00:43:27] because you weren't expecting as many teams
[00:43:29] to be as bad as they were or so some teams.
[00:43:32] But 10 and 7 should get you in an NFC.
[00:43:35] Should get you in a 5, 6 or 7 seed.
[00:43:37] Yeah, I think that if a team has built to get you there,
[00:43:40] you got to get a guy like you got to get a rave roll.
[00:43:43] Maybe not a bell and check his, he might want too much power.
[00:43:45] But when I think about Seattle,
[00:43:47] I think about something that you said earlier,
[00:43:49] if you go on tarot down, tarot down,
[00:43:52] you can't replace Pete Carroll with a Pete Carroll disciple.
[00:43:56] You know, or somebody that was on his coaching tree
[00:43:58] or under him before.
[00:43:59] Like Seattle is fortunately in a position
[00:44:01] where they don't need to tarot down.
[00:44:03] Right, right, right.
[00:44:04] But what I mean by that, what I mean by that is
[00:44:08] it's time for a new era as far as maybe culture,
[00:44:13] maybe philosophy.
[00:44:16] You know, you don't need to go back
[00:44:18] to the same roots that you had.
[00:44:20] So I think, you know, when I hired a guy
[00:44:23] that was really taught extensively by Pete Carroll.
[00:44:26] Right, right.
[00:44:27] I like my...
[00:44:28] He's not a knock on Pete Carroll
[00:44:29] but it's like, it's going to be one of the same things.
[00:44:31] I don't know the name, but I just wanted to...
[00:44:32] My ex because it makes more sense now
[00:44:35] or am I just here because it's easy.
[00:44:39] It was an easy choice.
[00:44:41] This person knows the way around the building.
[00:44:42] It's like, no.
[00:44:43] I don't know the name, but I'm just read.
[00:44:45] For me, it would be Vrable out of those names.
[00:44:48] You know, if I'm Washington out of the names that I read,
[00:44:52] Mike McDonald's the answer.
[00:44:53] Like, you know, I get it.
[00:44:55] You gotta use the name.
[00:44:56] You just be a assistant there, you know?
[00:44:58] With the take-ridden...
[00:45:00] Slug.
[00:45:01] Yeah, yeah, he's with the...
[00:45:02] He had office court in for Texans.
[00:45:04] So he was there with Jay Groot and corrected?
[00:45:06] Yes.
[00:45:07] They had the whole wonder kids that had been buried
[00:45:09] in Daniel.
[00:45:11] The floor, you know, it's a big bay, everybody.
[00:45:15] You know what I mean?
[00:45:16] So I get it, right?
[00:45:18] But I would say no.
[00:45:20] You know, I would say no.
[00:45:21] You don't think the enemy should get a shot in Washington?
[00:45:24] I think he should.
[00:45:25] I just...
[00:45:26] If it were...
[00:45:27] If it were up to me...
[00:45:29] I would give him a fair shot.
[00:45:31] He's gonna get a fair shot.
[00:45:32] Three people in the hiring committee, each person gets one vote.
[00:45:37] You are the third vote is one for...
[00:45:40] I would vote for...
[00:45:41] I would vote for being a...
[00:45:42] I would vote for being a...
[00:45:43] But here's the problem.
[00:45:45] You know, we had the reports that came out during training camp about how he was so harsh
[00:45:50] and hurting all the players feelings.
[00:45:53] I was like eight months ago.
[00:45:54] You got people...
[00:45:55] You got people like Jonathan Allen who's supposed to be a teen captain.
[00:45:59] And he's out here running his mouth doing everything but leading by example.
[00:46:03] You know what I'm saying?
[00:46:05] So saying that thing sucks.
[00:46:07] Sometimes you got caught by baby ugly.
[00:46:08] Yeah, but everybody...
[00:46:09] But I also need to see you as the teen captain when you see people fucking off and slacking.
[00:46:16] They trained away his people next to him.
[00:46:18] They had to.
[00:46:20] They traded the dudes that...
[00:46:21] They had to.
[00:46:22] They traded away sweat.
[00:46:24] They traded away...
[00:46:25] Trashion.
[00:46:26] They had to.
[00:46:27] You got to...
[00:46:28] You need draft picks.
[00:46:30] You need capital to try to...
[00:46:32] Because this isn't a one player thing.
[00:46:34] This isn't insert jerk golf and all of a sudden Washington's going to take off.
[00:46:39] This isn't bring Dian Sanders in from Dallas or San Francisco or wherever.
[00:46:44] Think about your in the trenches.
[00:46:47] I'm in the trenches.
[00:46:48] Okay, think about this.
[00:46:50] Tuesday we're going to record this show.
[00:46:53] You got to do this show with somebody else besides me because I'm supposed to be getting
[00:46:59] paid or getting treated a certain way and leadership doesn't do it.
[00:47:04] And they just bring another person and I'm gone.
[00:47:07] I'm off.
[00:47:08] I'm off on somebody else's show that you can't participate in.
[00:47:10] And it's like, yeah, we need the same energy that you had last week when you guys went
[00:47:13] live.
[00:47:14] You're like, this is not the same partner.
[00:47:16] This is the same group of people.
[00:47:18] This is not the same...
[00:47:19] This person does understand my philosophy.
[00:47:22] So when he expressed his frustration, it means he's gone to a part of that culture too.
[00:47:27] Yeah, but he had other people.
[00:47:28] He thought was part of it and it was like they probably want to get rid of her barefoot.
[00:47:32] What's the line?
[00:47:33] He's out of here.
[00:47:34] He's going to leave too.
[00:47:35] There are numbers that Green Bay is interested in him so he's going to be gone too.
[00:47:39] And you know, Washington is...
[00:47:41] So yeah, in that case, I'll take a look at it.
[00:47:44] I take a rookie head coach.
[00:47:46] I take the rookie quarterback and I will move any veteran that has a movable contract that's
[00:47:53] going to give me any kind of viable pieces, any kind of viable pieces.
[00:48:00] I'm a move because we talked about this before.
[00:48:04] NFL teams are...
[00:48:06] They're basically carbon copies with a few exceptions and a few positions.
[00:48:12] The offensive lineman from teams 1 through 32, probably average within an inch and height
[00:48:21] and 5 to 8 pounds a week.
[00:48:23] Your cornerbacks are probably same thing.
[00:48:28] 4-4-5 guys or 4-5-40 yard times.
[00:48:33] 5 foot 10 to 6 foot 1.
[00:48:36] Those are your defensive backs.
[00:48:38] The linebackers are probably around 2-25 to 2-40.
[00:48:41] Like you're going to get the same basic team from the Northeast all the way down to Southern
[00:48:50] California.
[00:48:51] They just some teams have a few guys in the substance positions.
[00:48:55] Tyree Kill, Jalen Waddle, what they have in Miami, that's speed.
[00:48:59] They're not very big but that's speed and rock run and ability.
[00:49:02] That's what sets them apart.
[00:49:04] Flash Allen is 6-5-2-35.
[00:49:07] That sets them apart.
[00:49:09] Patching my homes has the ability to put the ball into tight squares anywhere on the
[00:49:13] field, any weather, cold, sunny, hot, up 10, down 10, up 17, down 24.
[00:49:21] Just the herbiz ability to just throw the ball deep.
[00:49:25] Jamar Chase's ability to get open.
[00:49:28] Those are your few exceptions but for the most part, every team is going to be built on
[00:49:31] the same basic platform.
[00:49:34] You just got to match the philosophy with the coach and the most important pieces that
[00:49:41] you need.
[00:49:42] If you need toughness, then you need to have a guy like Ray Lewis as your middle linebacker.
[00:49:48] He can be, he can carry, he can be your bell, Cal for your toughness that will resonate
[00:49:54] throughout your team.
[00:49:55] So to answer your earlier question, I would like being in me paired with Jalen Daniels.
[00:50:01] You know, we saw, because the same way, and I know like context, right, but the same
[00:50:07] way that Washington's offense didn't take off this year, patching my homes through the
[00:50:14] most interceptions that he threw in his career this season.
[00:50:18] You know, obviously those receivers aren't very good, but the same way that Washington's
[00:50:23] numbers didn't look good, Kansas City's regressed.
[00:50:28] So you think that's the, like the, the enemy.
[00:50:32] I think there's, I think there has to be something to it.
[00:50:34] I'm not saying, I'm not saying that without Eric B. N. E. patching my homes is barely a
[00:50:39] pro bowl or anything like that, but, but you know, but they're, but I think that there
[00:50:44] is something there because we saw the lack of weapons, the lack of weapons in Kansas City.
[00:50:52] I don't know if they really, I don't know if the B. N. E. could have, I don't know if
[00:50:55] the enemy could have fixed the fact that, that game against Philly when MVS was wide open
[00:51:01] and I'd be post-route and they hit him in both hands.
[00:51:03] I don't know if he had any one that pointed out in the Super Bowl.
[00:51:06] Hey, run these plays.
[00:51:08] You know, he was the one you know, to be honest, like because there's zero coverage and they
[00:51:13] were blitzing and press, they were trying to press coverage and go zero blitz.
[00:51:17] Also, there's a very continuity and we saw Andy Rhee with Donovan, but NAB and something
[00:51:23] called Fredix and something called Todd Pexton.
[00:51:27] Yeah, but he also had to row Owens and we had to argue about it.
[00:51:32] That's facts.
[00:51:33] If he wins the championship this year, then cups need to just stand down.
[00:51:39] You don't say it like that's what he is right now.
[00:51:42] You don't say it, but you have to, like you have to have certain talent in place.
[00:51:50] T.O. was on your team, those quarterbacks, Jeff Garcia had contract years, 20 room
[00:51:58] ahead contract years.
[00:51:59] I mean, NAB had his best years.
[00:52:01] So my home's being in me, I understand all of the supporters does play a major role as
[00:52:08] a fan of a team who I went to a Jets Falcons game in December and I'm sitting there with
[00:52:15] the fans and I'm calling out the plays like this Falcons fan and his girlfriend sit behind
[00:52:22] me.
[00:52:23] She was like, maybe you should call the plays.
[00:52:25] I'm like, I should because he does the same thing every single week.
[00:52:28] Yeah, and word was coming.
[00:52:29] You know, this will make you laugh word on the street is if Vraybo gets a job somewhere
[00:52:35] he might be bringing in Arthur Smith as his office coordinator.
[00:52:38] I don't know what he saw in Arthur Smith that will make him hitch his wagon to that.
[00:52:43] I'm not knocking out the Smith.
[00:52:44] I just think it wasn't.
[00:52:45] I am.
[00:52:46] I said, it's just like, I'm not nervous.
[00:52:50] I'm just a fan of the team and I'm sitting in row two on the Falcons side watching the
[00:52:55] formation thinking like, here we go.
[00:52:58] Here's a stretch played to the left or watching Desmond Ritter not throw the post right
[00:53:05] granite.
[00:53:06] He threw it late and got a pass in the fence called a little scuffle and then zone.
[00:53:09] It's pretty dope.
[00:53:10] And I want you to get to that rather than say we'd not be good to that.
[00:53:13] And it was just mine yelled at the roughs.
[00:53:18] But that's still very tough position to be in.
[00:53:21] Being in me like I said, and oh, being in me gets a bat like a bits of bat rap because
[00:53:25] it really had like about 15 different coaching interviews over the past few years.
[00:53:30] But the same like I said Frank Wright must be difficult to deal with maybe being in the
[00:53:34] same boat.
[00:53:35] But if I'm Kansas City and Andy Reef says down, he's still one for me because at a minimum
[00:53:43] he was willing to yell at patch my homes, walking out the feeling and inapolis.
[00:53:49] Sometimes you need somebody that's going yelling you need a coach that's going to chew you
[00:53:54] out and not just let you just run with the status quo.
[00:53:59] You need a coach as we like no, no, no, no, no, you missed that.
[00:54:03] He ran the right route.
[00:54:05] You hit the check down too early.
[00:54:07] You didn't come back to the check down until it was too late.
[00:54:09] You got to say, it's not on this guard.
[00:54:12] He didn't miss the block.
[00:54:13] You should already get rid of that ball.
[00:54:15] You want to do this.
[00:54:16] And I think my homes having a level of success that he had, that he's already had, I think
[00:54:22] that's the kind of coach you need because you don't want a coach that comes in who just
[00:54:27] praises him and never gives him any criticism because what's going to happen there is that
[00:54:34] well, he's just going to keep giving him chances.
[00:54:39] Chance of chance of chance.
[00:54:40] You need a guy that's going to challenge you.
[00:54:42] He'll start from steal.
[00:54:43] I won't start from your arm.
[00:54:44] I think BNB would be, I think he'd be the steal in that situation.
[00:54:49] I agree.
[00:54:50] So says it all.
[00:54:54] Is it time?
[00:54:58] I've picked against Kansas C two times last two weeks.
[00:55:03] I picked against them and even six or seven weeks ago, I said they were losing their first
[00:55:07] playoff game.
[00:55:10] And I was thinking, do I keep this trend up and just for the sake of the trend or do
[00:55:17] I do some coaching analysis and really think about what does Baltimore bring?
[00:55:23] The weather, the playmaking ability of Baltimore, Kansas City.
[00:55:31] And the way that Baltimore has played against playoff teams over the last month is just
[00:55:41] it's tough to pick against them.
[00:55:48] Hell, this whole season.
[00:55:49] No, no matter if I got stuck in, I got to grab my phone as long as I charge another room
[00:55:53] I'll be right back.
[00:55:54] This whole season.
[00:55:55] So as we sit here and we think about this, Baltimore is just on a different level right
[00:56:03] now.
[00:56:04] Problem is Kansas City has that man.
[00:56:07] I know Don Mikowsky is the magic man but we might have a new magic man.
[00:56:12] Patrick Mahomes is pulling stuff out of his butt to win these games against Buffalo last
[00:56:18] week.
[00:56:19] They only put it once.
[00:56:21] Patrick Mahomes thrown the darts to MVS who actually caught it.
[00:56:26] You know, Rashid Rice had the big game against Miami 130 yards.
[00:56:31] So why do I keep picking against Kansas City?
[00:56:34] Well, I picked them to lose to Miami because I thought Miami was going to be able to run
[00:56:39] the ball on him.
[00:56:40] I picked them to lose the Buffalo because I thought it was Buffalo's time.
[00:56:44] I'm picking them to lose to Baltimore because I just don't see where the points are going
[00:56:48] to come from.
[00:56:50] Now, the part that people miss is that we've been talking about the Cleveland Browns defense
[00:56:55] all year as being right next to Baltimore's.
[00:56:59] But we saw the Browns defense on the road.
[00:57:01] A little known fact, Kansas City is the second best defense in the NFL.
[00:57:06] So you got number one against number two.
[00:57:09] No quarterback has passed for 300 yards against Kansas City this year and it ain't going
[00:57:13] to be Lamar Jackson.
[00:57:15] So I think that this game is going to be a low scoring slugfest, you know, something
[00:57:21] along the lines of 24 to 20.
[00:57:24] But it's going to be one of those games where a few scores happened early and then the
[00:57:29] game just kind of stalls out.
[00:57:31] So Lamar Jackson, two and three into playoffs now after the win last week, you know, one
[00:57:38] and three against Kansas City overall, against Kansas City 56.6 completion percentage or
[00:57:47] touchdowns and two picks respectable.
[00:57:49] But obviously that makes my homes three and one against the Ravens complete 70% of his
[00:57:54] passes.
[00:57:55] But the problem is that this game is in Baltimore.
[00:57:58] It's in the rain check whether Baltimore averages 160.6 rushing yards of game on the season
[00:58:05] and ran for 229 against Houston last week.
[00:58:08] They're just on a heater right now, you know, I want it to pick Kansas City as I looked
[00:58:14] at I looked at all these numbers.
[00:58:16] I tried to find a way.
[00:58:19] I just couldn't find it.
[00:58:20] So sounds like Marlon Humphrey is going to be back.
[00:58:24] Mark Andrew is a full practice participant.
[00:58:26] So you got to deal with him and likely and we saw with Dalton Kinkay did the Kansas City
[00:58:32] last week.
[00:58:34] Baltimore will be able to run against Kansas City, but Kansas City has the defensive backs
[00:58:39] in McDuffie and Sney that should be able to keep the Ravens receivers at bay to where
[00:58:45] Kansas City can experiment with putting eight in a box.
[00:58:51] Now the problem with that is obviously you have to be aware of Lamar's legs.
[00:58:56] So how loose can Lamar get because we saw the Texans get the Ravens into a few third and
[00:59:01] longs, third and eight, third and tenths.
[00:59:04] And then Lamar would just take off.
[00:59:06] So these two teams have it played since 2021.
[00:59:11] So new players, new teams, new staffs.
[00:59:15] So we're going to see.
[00:59:16] Could this be Andy Reed's last name?
[00:59:20] Baltimore like I said, if you go back to the Miami game San Francisco game.
[00:59:31] The playoff game.
[00:59:34] The obscure stat I never really thought like matter much until like as you watch Baltimore,
[00:59:41] them having the lead at the two minute warning in 16 and 17 games because like week 18 or
[00:59:49] 17th game they already locked into them one seat, but they had the lead after two minute
[00:59:55] warning and every one of those games said, Oh, it's that, but that just shows like no
[01:00:00] one dominated them.
[01:00:03] And I think that Kansas City, I don't want to use the word expose got think people kind
[01:00:07] of overusing that word.
[01:00:11] I'm not I can't recall many games this season where Kansas City was exceptional at two
[01:00:23] or three phases for a majority of the game right.
[01:00:27] They feel go kickers always on, but it felt like a lot of their field goals were because they
[01:00:34] couldn't convert in third and five.
[01:00:35] So like the office wasn't moving the ball.
[01:00:37] They'd get the big play.
[01:00:39] They get the punt.
[01:00:40] They get the turnover and Bucknerkin, you know, he's kicking it completely from 55.
[01:00:46] So that's essentially you get to the carry the two 38 yard line.
[01:00:51] That's a 55 yard field goal.
[01:00:54] So you get a turnover at midfield.
[01:00:56] You get 12 to 14 yards or you get 20 to 30 yards from the 45, well, you know, just like
[01:01:02] that you get that intermediate kind of drive six plays.
[01:01:07] You get a couple of first downs, but you stall out because on third and eight they just
[01:01:11] double Kelsey.
[01:01:13] And now you're kicking a 55 56 57 yard field goal and he's knocking it down.
[01:01:16] So it looks like it's given special teams bumps.
[01:01:20] But it's not really giving off in some bumps.
[01:01:22] And then the defense plays great.
[01:01:25] So do you have a game like Philly, where it's back and forth, back and forth, back and
[01:01:28] forth?
[01:01:29] And you need the offense to make a play for Kansas City and the SS go through his hands
[01:01:34] because you and I were watching that game and you were a few seconds ahead of me because
[01:01:39] I was I think I was watching on TV.
[01:01:41] I was watching on stream.
[01:01:43] So you were like, ooh, he didn't say anything.
[01:01:47] I was like what happened.
[01:01:49] I was like, yeah, I think I had this face on.
[01:01:53] Yeah, and I was like, so when I started throw it then I saw the drop and I was like, oh,
[01:02:00] that's what you meant.
[01:02:02] I don't see I don't have those moments with Baltimore.
[01:02:05] Right.
[01:02:06] I think Baltimore just on third and sixth if they want to run it, they can get I believe
[01:02:11] they're going to get six yards on the drive there down seven three.
[01:02:16] I believe they're going to get the touchdown.
[01:02:19] A lot like what I talked about Josh Allen, Josh Allen's going to be down 14 to three, but
[01:02:24] I feel like when he gets the ball back, he's going to do everything he can that drive
[01:02:29] that he got the ball back to get points.
[01:02:31] He's going to run through people is going to run in a lot of backers.
[01:02:34] My homes doesn't play that way.
[01:02:36] My homes does everything like a tactician and I'm not sure that that that that that office
[01:02:43] of marriage ever really occurred all year long.
[01:02:46] It's look good in the playoffs, but you still had guys like McCall Hartman, you know, reaching
[01:02:52] out for the goal line and foam of the ball out of the back and end zone.
[01:02:56] So like my homes is effort if they can figure out how to get some players there for you
[01:03:03] know this future years.
[01:03:04] But like I said, for Johnson, if they if he wins this year, I don't know we're going to
[01:03:09] be back on.
[01:03:10] Because we're going to be able to hit them with the facts of a feelings.
[01:03:16] Right.
[01:03:17] You like a way, you know, couple not going to hear it, but I understand it.
[01:03:25] I want to pick Kansas City just because I like I really like the idea of my homes getting
[01:03:34] back to his four Super Bowl and just being able to say.
[01:03:40] 42 and I watched these diagnoses just chunk after chunk after chunk for my entire life.
[01:03:47] If you think about the Redskins or Redskins when they were the Redskins, you think about
[01:03:54] the Cowboys when they were on in the early 90s, we get all the Buffalo bills in there.
[01:04:03] You want to throw in the entertainment value of Peyton Manning and the St. Louis Rams,
[01:04:13] with that greatest show on turf because Peyton Manning was out there playing on turf.
[01:04:16] He was doing the same thing.
[01:04:17] But then you add Tom Brady and the Patriots when it super bowls, then you have the excitement
[01:04:23] of Michael Vick in Atlanta is just like so many just little facets of football.
[01:04:28] I think this my home's Super Bowl AAC Championship run is Andy Reed run.
[01:04:36] I think it's as a great remarkable.
[01:04:39] Big straight and this is the first one on the road, so that's impressive when it's within
[01:04:42] itself years he's been doing it.
[01:04:45] He's got three playoff losses and two of them were in overtime.
[01:04:48] Yeah, but I don't know a human alive that can look at me and say why they don't like
[01:04:52] Lamar Jackson.
[01:04:56] You can't say I don't like his hair.
[01:05:00] You sound like a crazy person.
[01:05:02] I don't like his tattoos, everybody's got tattoos.
[01:05:06] The March action is just one of those guys.
[01:05:09] You know in high school there was a student that all the teachers loved.
[01:05:15] He's that guy and then you want to hate him because all the teachers like him and then
[01:05:20] you meet him and the first thing he do, he helps you pick your bag up when your book bag
[01:05:25] fell open or something.
[01:05:26] I think you just started quarterback why are you here?
[01:05:29] I just like helping people.
[01:05:31] I think the story of this game is the defenses though, you know Baltimore this season.
[01:05:35] There was a one in two though.
[01:05:36] Yeah, the Baltimore defense wanted to.
[01:05:39] Baltimore's only given up 24 more than 24 points twice this season and that was the
[01:05:47] overtime game against the Rams in the game that they blew the lead against Cleveland.
[01:05:52] If Kansas City scored over 21 points that are undefeated.
[01:05:55] The same thing.
[01:05:56] There you go.
[01:05:57] I was just about to say that and say it's the answer thing.
[01:06:01] It's not as sexy because we know Baltimore for being a tough defense because we know every
[01:06:05] you know Taro says, right?
[01:06:07] Bloody nada.
[01:06:08] Sarah Goosa, Ray Lewis, we know these names.
[01:06:12] We don't think about that.
[01:06:13] We think about Derek Thomas and that's the extent of the defensive prowess that we think
[01:06:17] about with the Kansas City Chiefs.
[01:06:18] You know what I'm saying?
[01:06:19] I'm just trying to be a Christian a co-yeo though.
[01:06:22] When Steve would even have more hit him.
[01:06:25] Yeah, yeah.
[01:06:26] And that was the nightmare.
[01:06:28] Yeah, that is nice.
[01:06:29] But you know, but Kansas City has only given up 24 points once this year.
[01:06:37] Pop quiz.
[01:06:38] Who's the team that scored more than 24 against Kansas City this year?
[01:06:42] I've seen this a lot because I watched a lot of first things first.
[01:06:47] I shouldn't know this.
[01:06:50] Was it Buffalo?
[01:06:52] No.
[01:06:53] No, I wasn't the one that I'm not lined up on size properly.
[01:06:56] No eyebrows.
[01:06:57] Could there is Tony game now?
[01:06:59] No.
[01:07:00] You know, man got no eyebrows.
[01:07:01] I'm keeping new eyebrows.
[01:07:02] That's still make them make it.
[01:07:04] The answer is that Sunday night game up at Lambo Field.
[01:07:08] Oh, when Jordan Lil was out there saying I'm here.
[01:07:12] Yeah, 27 to 9.
[01:07:13] That was a rival game.
[01:07:15] Yeah, that was the only game Kansas City gave up more than 24 to season.
[01:07:18] So like I said, I think this is going to be a more defensive game than expected when
[01:07:22] we look at the quarterbacks.
[01:07:25] And this is going to be the game that shows wants it for all for all those out there
[01:07:30] that don't believe it.
[01:07:32] It's a team sport.
[01:07:33] No, it's all about the quarterback.
[01:07:39] So we transitioned over to Santa Clara.
[01:07:43] You really named this the C black knee cast attack.
[01:07:46] I did.
[01:07:47] I did it.
[01:07:48] I just made it like five minutes ago, too.
[01:07:50] I just changed out of the bike.
[01:07:51] Mike does all the behind the scenes stuff.
[01:07:54] Like, you know, shout out everybody's watching us live and he was going to watch the records
[01:07:57] everything else.
[01:07:58] Mike does the behind the scene stuff.
[01:08:02] Like Mike is the talent on the show.
[01:08:04] He's a producer.
[01:08:06] He's like the brainchild for a lot of the things we do.
[01:08:09] We go back and forth on it.
[01:08:10] But like the problem that he might be.
[01:08:13] Mike had when resident, they made the comment about if my home was wins this year.
[01:08:18] I made that up the time to go.
[01:08:20] I made that up and then I just went this one right after.
[01:08:23] But yo, I don't.
[01:08:24] Residential should agree with this San Francisco should never ever play in a stadium
[01:08:30] that's not called candlestick part.
[01:08:34] That's just the way it works.
[01:08:35] You know, first of all, uh, leave us stadium waters calling out and Santa Clara is a very
[01:08:40] nice stadium.
[01:08:41] I'm sure it is.
[01:08:42] The air bring back candlestick.
[01:08:45] I went back when it was a Utah versus Washington, Pac-12 championship back in like 2018.
[01:08:51] Rest in pieces of Pac-12.
[01:08:52] Yo, it was dudes literally just, uh, smoking reaper right outside the bathroom.
[01:08:59] I'm like, who not even go into bathroom?
[01:09:01] They were in a hallway between it.
[01:09:03] I was like, yeah, can I get an IPA?
[01:09:05] I don't need any other stuff you guys want to be here.
[01:09:07] I just said reaper in 2024.
[01:09:10] Reaper straight up.
[01:09:11] Oh, head.
[01:09:12] Don't let the grace.
[01:09:13] But yeah, so, uh, are you picking the lions or what?
[01:09:17] I'm picking the lions.
[01:09:18] Whoa.
[01:09:19] I'm picking the I'm picking the lions and I'm picking the lions not because I think that
[01:09:25] San Francisco is a nap in any way.
[01:09:27] I just believe that I saw the posting in the group.
[01:09:33] San Francisco is a seven point favorite.
[01:09:39] I like Detroit because I think every single one of these championship games, when it's
[01:09:47] close, you need like a hero moment.
[01:09:54] I feel that Dan Campbell can generate that hero moment out of his team.
[01:10:04] Morning, Shanahan.
[01:10:05] We all know my position and how I feel about Shanahan sometimes.
[01:10:09] I think back to the Super Bowl Patriots Falcons, he could be a little too cute, little
[01:10:17] too into his philosophy.
[01:10:20] And he just kind of looked out because there was, there was blocks of time in San Francisco
[01:10:26] where he didn't have the key players to execute the plays that he wanted.
[01:10:34] It's like not having an energy to lift that 75 pound dumbbell.
[01:10:39] But then one day you get some good sleep, you get to gym and you could do it.
[01:10:42] He I want to say he looked up, but he had like he was able to get Dibo.
[01:10:46] He was able to get Jimmy Garoppolo to make these, make these throws.
[01:10:50] But then when he had, he got like CJ Bethard and Mullins and his guys just didn't work out.
[01:10:55] And we go back to the Super Bowl where I felt they should have ran the ball, kicked the
[01:11:00] field goal, gone up 11, given the ball back to the Patriots with a minute and 52 seconds left
[01:11:05] for whatever the math would have worked out to be.
[01:11:10] And because of that, there was a lot of non-existent fourth quarter comebacks.
[01:11:16] And they talked about it last week, being down five, he was like 0 and 30, being down
[01:11:21] five into the fourth quarter.
[01:11:24] That's very, that's very similar to Aaron Rogers career record where it was like he had
[01:11:31] a very poor record being down four.
[01:11:36] Like being down where you needed a touchdown in the fourth quarter, it was very, very
[01:11:42] because he didn't really galvanize his team.
[01:11:46] They were front runners down a field goal if we remember that playoff game against San Francisco
[01:11:50] a few years ago.
[01:11:51] He had to ball a couple times.
[01:11:55] We talked about the San Francisco Seattle game and we talked about the earlier shot at
[01:12:01] the Dallas Mike when they beat Dallas in the AT&T then they had to come to Atlanta and
[01:12:10] Matt Ryan and Julio, Matt Ryan agrees to be Matt second to Matt McConnor.
[01:12:15] Not top five.
[01:12:17] Second top, second Matt of all time next to Matt McConnor.
[01:12:21] But Matt McConnor says his mother won't allow people to call him Matt because she need
[01:12:25] them Matthew from the Bible but for the sickest podcast we'll let it slide.
[01:12:30] So Matt Ryan torched the Green Bay defense that year.
[01:12:34] So I think Dan Campbell has tapped into the team.
[01:12:45] I think the team believes in him.
[01:12:48] I think Jared golf is a very good quarterback.
[01:12:51] He's trading him was Balsey but it would have looked foolish if Tarte holds on to the
[01:13:01] interception against the 40 against the Rams two years ago.
[01:13:08] It landed, it was basically a fair catch.
[01:13:10] He catches that interception.
[01:13:12] The golf staff retreat is not looked at the same way.
[01:13:17] Even in the Super Bowl when they got the holding call on the middle line back on the Cooper
[01:13:23] Cup little Rob and another field where he didn't touch Cooper Cup.
[01:13:27] It's fourth and goal from the nine for staffers but history as we look at it day one is
[01:13:35] Super Bowl.
[01:13:36] So I think Jared golf, I think the connection between golf, the players, the coach, the
[01:13:42] lightning kneecaps was weird but I think it resonates in that locker room.
[01:13:48] I think they believe in that philosophy guys like CJ Jordan Carter Johnson, we talked about
[01:13:54] the look we talked about on a previous podcast on the hot box.
[01:13:58] You can't be saying that stuff because this is the video that he sent out by language
[01:14:02] but that kind of tenacity and a barocity and just that swagger that the Lions bring.
[01:14:10] I think it weighs more than what I think senseless talent is there but I'm going to take the
[01:14:16] toughness of Detroit over the 49ers.
[01:14:22] So Jared golf has an interception in his last four games against the 49ers.
[01:14:28] The Lions haven't turned the ball over in this postseason yet.
[01:14:32] We saw a Brock Purdy play one of the worst half-s of his career last week and he came
[01:14:39] through when it mattered without Debo Samuel.
[01:14:42] Everybody didn't think he could do it.
[01:14:43] He made a very non-Mr. Relevant throws.
[01:14:49] I think like talked about it before, I think the conversation around Brock Purdy is as futile
[01:14:55] and it just rude of match for me.
[01:14:58] Everybody makes a big deal about San Francisco's weapons because you know they have Christian McCaffrey,
[01:15:03] Debo.
[01:15:04] Brandon IU, George Kiddell.
[01:15:06] IU will tie it in baby, you know and so on.
[01:15:10] They are everywhere.
[01:15:11] Atlanta won't get one.
[01:15:12] They are.
[01:15:13] They'll be sitting there and needing one and like you know what, let's go get this tackle
[01:15:16] from Fresno State.
[01:15:18] But apparently another little known fact.
[01:15:24] The Lions got weapons too.
[01:15:28] They got Jemir Gibbs who averages 11.4 yards of touch in these here playoffs.
[01:15:33] So get them eight touches.
[01:15:35] I'm on St. Rob Brown, you know who should have been a pro-bola.
[01:15:40] You know you got David Montgomery who was a top 10 Russia in the league this year.
[01:15:45] So Detroit has weapons too.
[01:15:47] But then I heard a stat today.
[01:15:48] Who was here?
[01:15:50] That just bogged my mind.
[01:15:52] All credits out to the one and only, Mina Kimes for dropping this nugget on us.
[01:15:58] Shout out to Mina.
[01:16:00] San Francisco is the worst defense in the NFL.
[01:16:05] In short yardage situations.
[01:16:09] So 31, fourth and one things along those lines.
[01:16:12] Things that sound like they can get you back to 38.
[01:16:15] Give you a big first down baby but you know it sounds like it's right up Dan Campbell's
[01:16:20] alley if you know what I mean.
[01:16:23] But as I look at this, San Francisco's run defense was third doing the regular season.
[01:16:30] 92.3 yards per game and their last three games they give up about 10 yards more per
[01:16:36] game than that.
[01:16:38] They gave up 136 last week to the Packers.
[01:16:42] So what are we going to see from Sassfer Cisco's run defense?
[01:16:45] That's question number one.
[01:16:47] Question number two is Debo Samuil going to play.
[01:16:50] I say he will you know just because of the stakes of the game.
[01:16:53] You know it is.
[01:16:54] And it's Ian Viking and baby and it's Ian Viking and then the other stat that I heard
[01:16:58] that brought a little concern for Detroit from me is that outside of CD lamb, you know
[01:17:06] Sedarius daily own.
[01:17:08] You know outside of him Brandon Ayuk has been the most open wide receiver in the NFL this
[01:17:14] year.
[01:17:17] Now I don't know who gets paid to keep track of that.
[01:17:20] Somebody's that's somebody's that keeping his MIT graduate employee.
[01:17:25] Detroit sometimes forgets that they have Jemira Gims in my opinion but who they don't forget
[01:17:32] they have is Aiden Hutchison.
[01:17:34] You know there's going to be a whole lot of Aiden Hutchison and Brock Purdy's face.
[01:17:41] Ken Brock Purdy you said Detroit doesn't forget that they have Aiden Hutchison.
[01:17:46] Yeah.
[01:17:47] Yeah Tampa Bay David Cronallus a new head coach of the Carolina Panthers.
[01:17:55] He definitely did.
[01:17:57] He forgot about Aiden Hutchison.
[01:17:58] This dude was coming off the edge on block.
[01:18:01] I'm like I'm not a tactician when it comes to like sports.
[01:18:05] I just watch it and I talk about it twice a week on my podcast my friend but I'm thinking
[01:18:13] every the every all fence of snap I'm accounting for the best defensive lineman on the other
[01:18:22] team.
[01:18:23] I don't think there's ever been a play I'm watching Cleveland if I'm the coach if
[01:18:27] I'm Baltimore and I'm playing as Cleveland well I'm a let miles Gary just come free off
[01:18:33] the edge.
[01:18:34] Every habit yeah they did it so many times with Detroit but maybe maybe it was a scheme
[01:18:40] maybe it was something that Detroit was doing.
[01:18:42] Well something Detroit better not do this weekend is blitz those corners like they were
[01:18:48] against Tampa.
[01:18:50] I mean because I think Shanahan will make you pay for that.
[01:18:55] You would think I don't know I just don't have that much faith in Shanahan well not because
[01:19:02] the results didn't really pan out.
[01:19:04] I just think that a lot of times with San Francisco is that they have we talked about
[01:19:16] it like a live mission I get in the ball not getting the ball against Green Bay San Francisco
[01:19:27] is a very tough defense but you know that going in right.
[01:19:32] I talked about this for someone before and I hope this makes sense you know we have gun
[01:19:37] owners who listen but I was telling someone I was like if you want to rob a gun store
[01:19:43] and it was a wall everybody in there is armed up.
[01:19:46] I'm like yeah but I know that on the outside so when I run in I'm going to be prepared
[01:19:53] for these three employees to be armed up so my approach is going to be a little bit more
[01:19:58] aggressive.
[01:19:59] So with San Francisco we know they're lying back or play as aggressive we know they jump
[01:20:06] run routes because they fall for play action.
[01:20:09] The trick is great at play action passing because they do a lot of they do a lot of
[01:20:15] stretch they have to tighten with the porta so they do a lot of stretch play action to
[01:20:20] the left roll Jerry golf back out to the right.
[01:20:24] Green lawn warner those guys are such he seeking missiles that they're going to they can
[01:20:29] overplay it every once in a while.
[01:20:32] Jerry golf's a bigger quarterback I think he's probably walking around like six four and
[01:20:36] a half.
[01:20:37] Little big and a Brock pretty.
[01:20:40] I'm not sure if the San Francisco defense can allow Jerry golf to make some because he's
[01:20:48] an accurate throed I know they talk about his small hands but your hands are relevant
[01:20:53] if I don't have the ball in it.
[01:20:55] If I remember all of this play action the la port is wide open I'm throwing it.
[01:21:00] The whole eligible Y receiver versus non-eligible with the offense alignment coming in.
[01:21:06] I think that can be tricky.
[01:21:07] I just feel like Dan Campbell even with his toughness and his provato he still works in this
[01:21:15] decision making is like within the compines of the analytics of football.
[01:21:20] There's like oh he's so aggressive he's going forward at the 45 year online at four to
[01:21:25] two.
[01:21:26] Well analytics say yeah go for it because you're going to punt it and they're going
[01:21:30] to get the ball to 20 so you only give it up 25 yards you stop them if they go three
[01:21:35] and now you get the ball right back.
[01:21:37] But it looks like toughness.
[01:21:40] It feels like toughness.
[01:21:41] Grant is going to be on a road I'm not sure how many Detroit fans are going to empty
[01:21:45] their big accounts to come to that game.
[01:21:48] The Troy secondary really scares me in this game.
[01:21:52] They were peeking a lot in the backfield against Tampa Bay Mike everyone's run right past
[01:21:56] them.
[01:21:57] Right.
[01:21:58] You know they remind me a lot of that Saints defense that won the Super Bowl like they never
[01:22:06] stopped.
[01:22:07] Yeah they never stopped anybody.
[01:22:08] They just jumped that route.
[01:22:09] They just made timely border jumped the route.
[01:22:11] Yeah they just made timely plays.
[01:22:13] You ready?
[01:22:14] Ready to be ready to swing instead of a fucking square in but ready for my net fat.
[01:22:21] Let's hear it.
[01:22:22] Debo Samuel.
[01:22:24] Like I said is he going to play is he not going to play?
[01:22:27] If he does play how effective is he going to be?
[01:22:30] When he's played 10 snaps or fewer.
[01:22:35] San Francisco is one in three and the only average 18 points of game.
[01:22:41] So how you see or in general.
[01:22:44] So how effective will he be if he does play?
[01:22:49] You know so I don't need Debo to be a superstar to win this game.
[01:22:54] I just need enough that you'll think about Debo.
[01:22:57] Now going to your point about Shanahan he tried to throw a couple of those Debo plays to
[01:23:04] Jawan Jennings and got him smacked up.
[01:23:08] So if you don't got Debo just don't run those plays.
[01:23:12] You know let's go with that.
[01:23:14] Listen.
[01:23:15] But you got it.
[01:23:17] I can't imagine a scenario where.
[01:23:22] There's a show to injury.
[01:23:24] If he can raise his arm even with pain.
[01:23:29] I think he still plays.
[01:23:30] I can't imagine a scenario where you've worked this many years in this office with this
[01:23:37] coach.
[01:23:38] He's got to.
[01:23:39] You're on the on the cusp of making a Super Bowl.
[01:23:43] And like I said if he gets, if it hurts.
[01:23:46] He has 13 days to heal and then the 14 day you got to be ready.
[01:23:54] Hopefully hopefully this game isn't the which one of us is going to get bitch slapped
[01:24:00] by Baltimore again.
[01:24:03] Bull you know what I mean so with that being said all that analysis all that talk.
[01:24:12] I'm going to take the 49ers to win.
[01:24:14] Take the lines to cover.
[01:24:17] I'm taking the lions to win.
[01:24:24] And just I'm logical so I can't I got to subtract the motion from this.
[01:24:28] I got to take Baltimore to win.
[01:24:31] I mean I just can't.
[01:24:37] Logically it just doesn't make me just logical.
[01:24:39] I can't make a logical explanation for.
[01:24:43] I can't make a logical explanation for Kansas City win because I would need in this scenario
[01:24:50] I would need for Baltimore to make.
[01:24:55] Two mistakes either.
[01:25:00] Two mistakes on offense.
[01:25:02] And one of them leads to directly the points.
[01:25:06] A football scoop in school.
[01:25:08] Or picks makes has thrown the most interceptions that he's thrown in his career.
[01:25:14] 14 but you can't be stopped trying to cheat for Patrick my homes.
[01:25:19] 20 but you so what it is what it all I said was a fact you know don't bring feelings to
[01:25:26] a fat fight.
[01:25:27] And he brings my own bars against me.
[01:25:29] You know say anyway.
[01:25:31] I made a line made it last month.
[01:25:33] It's crazy because we're on the other side of this because like you you originally pick
[01:25:38] Kansas City and you're like I can't find a logical reason.
[01:25:41] I want to pick Baltimore and I'm like I picked Baltimore but I want to pick Kansas City
[01:25:45] because I trust their quarterback more like he's been here before and you know what I
[01:25:52] but when I think Kansas City needs I think Kansas City needs Baltimore to do something
[01:25:59] wrong.
[01:26:02] Either early but that's the thing we have.
[01:26:07] Okay so think about it like this think about it like this.
[01:26:09] Okay so right.
[01:26:13] We're going on let's think about this okay we'll use that was two examples but last couple
[01:26:18] of big games why we got a new I was trying to say something too.
[01:26:22] Okay yo I got I'll use yours I'm gonna use my real quick you use the Baltimore safety
[01:26:28] against San Francisco.
[01:26:30] How have all said no no no no no no when they got the message.
[01:26:35] We bumped into the referee because he failed.
[01:26:39] Yeah.
[01:26:40] Now 32 teams in the league that kind of play against San Francisco does this Tampa Bay
[01:26:52] recover from that.
[01:26:54] No Atlanta.
[01:26:56] No.
[01:26:58] Carolina.
[01:26:59] No.
[01:27:00] Miami.
[01:27:01] Maybe.
[01:27:02] Maybe.
[01:27:03] So like all these other teams Seattle the Rams Arizona Minnesota.
[01:27:13] No.
[01:27:14] No so like give me I'll give you a little one more in there the Saints they recover from
[01:27:22] there.
[01:27:23] They're par yells at his office of Lyme in that much and he has that kind of just you fell
[01:27:29] over the referee and lost his two points and they got the ball back.
[01:27:35] We don't even talk about that safety because they won by three possessions.
[01:27:41] That's why I like I can't pick that's why I can't pick against Baltimore because something
[01:27:46] like that happened and you talked about the punt return.
[01:27:48] Well, I didn't finish it.
[01:27:50] I was about to talk about the punt return.
[01:27:53] We're here.
[01:27:54] We got the Texas brand that punt return back they went into halftime tie that 10 and at the
[01:28:00] time it was like okay the Texans are in this thing but I still don't think people thought that
[01:28:06] the Texas had a chance with that they were going to win.
[01:28:09] But if they go into halftime tie that 10 with Kansas City there's going to be a whole lot
[01:28:14] of tight but holes in my city letting stuff leak out.
[01:28:17] I don't think so man.
[01:28:19] I don't think so because you're going to get the room.
[01:28:24] We'll look at those two opportunities.
[01:28:28] The safety would have crippled most teams.
[01:28:32] Given up a punt return touchdown would have like motivated some other teams and both of
[01:28:41] those games Baltimore won by Kavai like 42 points.
[01:28:46] But neither one of those teams they were playing against had patch at my homes had and you read but if you think
[01:28:53] okay, if you were Kansas City right now whose offensive
[01:29:02] you take my homes will you take my homes in a Kansas City current offensive group or would you take my
[01:29:11] homes and the 49ers offensive groups.
[01:29:14] So even with the safety against 49ers if you have my homes with that offensive group, you
[01:29:22] still feel like okay we got but San Francisco ain't got Andy Reed but San Francisco also doesn't
[01:29:29] have patch my homes but patch my home doesn't have San Francisco's weapons either.
[01:29:36] So I'm not going to think if I think the weapons of San Francisco are better or better weapons.
[01:29:44] The season that will be completed by the weapons.
[01:29:47] Yeah but I think the San Francisco weapon I think their weapons are I think they're better utilized by
[01:29:53] the American and then I think my homes makes the Kansas City teams look like they have weapons.
[01:30:01] And I think cow shanning hand is coaching San Francisco 49er weapons that's the difference.
[01:30:08] So if Baltimore can go in there and still shut down kiddo shut down devils shut down IU and dominate get for
[01:30:19] the ball ball.
[01:30:20] Darn old and they haven't had in a long time.
[01:30:24] You know like as far as like from from the outside as far as like yeah y'all better win this game.
[01:30:30] Expectations.
[01:30:31] Yeah this is patch my homes on a bet on a not as good team you're the best team in the league.
[01:30:37] You haven't made it to the Super Bowl yet with Lamar Jackson he's going to win the MVP.
[01:30:42] You got to win this game.
[01:30:43] It was a seasonal expectation that they had the carry that burden for four to five months out of rock with you but they only have
[01:30:51] to carry it for like two and a half hours to out of them 45 minutes.
[01:30:55] And I think they're going to be in an advantage for more because is there not a dude that was walking around with mom spaghetti on his shirt.
[01:31:07] Just saying like you know it's just one game but this is not a game.
[01:31:13] This is the game I just don't know I like I said three phases of the game special teams offense defense.
[01:31:24] I just think that Kansas City.
[01:31:29] The Baltimore offense defense special teams I think they marry up better week to week.
[01:31:36] They do they do Kansas City so they have to like one of those pieces a third of it would have to just.
[01:31:45] Fault her this is the thing this is the thing what's your name?
[01:31:48] What's your name Mr. logical sports is anything but logical absolutely it's not really most logical situations worked out.
[01:31:57] Buses others knocking out Mike Tyson seems like a crazy thing but Mike Tyson not bus of Douglas out early on he just didn't take his ass to his corner sort of
[01:32:06] reference.
[01:32:08] If you would walk to the corner it was 13 seconds.
[01:32:11] Logically he wasn't thinking he just was so hyped up of the fact that this dude is even pushing as far because Mike didn't
[01:32:18] think he was trying to make a difference.
[01:32:21] But he was bus of doubles down on the ground on the canvas for 13 seconds.
[01:32:26] If he walks to his corner they gave Tyson ferry that fast count.
[01:32:30] What that slow count your slow count but even when he was knocked out and came back even in 12 seconds.
[01:32:38] I just feel like I don't want to just give Kansas City credit based off of the fact that they are Kansas City without logically looking at the fact that.
[01:32:47] They don't go deeper than three wire receivers to lose the last two weeks and they didn't true okay yeah and I'll admit that I was wrong cos logically wrong.
[01:32:57] I mean my choices but you can't keep running Watson Gray and Kelsey out there with where she writes.
[01:33:06] I mean I'm not sure if you guys are right.
[01:33:09] NBS particularly McKinnon they don't play Skymore.
[01:33:13] I don't think here to get there.
[01:33:16] It's hard to start the field.
[01:33:18] Uh McColle harming got the ball from the back of the end zone.
[01:33:21] So the problems that they had in September and October what their supporting cast of their skill position group.
[01:33:30] They still had four days ago.
[01:33:32] Right and they're still here.
[01:33:35] I mean they're all left with all heart man so how many more.
[01:33:38] Okay as weird as weird as we're just checking out how much money right now.
[01:33:44] I don't think they are they are who's expected to win okay so you had Kelsey throw the water cadres Tony against the Buffalo game.
[01:33:52] There's Tony's line of both sides how many times have you seen the ball and get there is Tony's hands since that game.
[01:33:58] I can't even tell you because it was probably like less than five.
[01:34:01] Yeah so then you go into your playoff game and I'm feeding the ball to Kelsey and he's dropping yet three drops.
[01:34:09] Five catches eight targets three drops in his first eight negative 27.
[01:34:13] Yeah okay yeah but he caught the other five so it wasn't like he didn't catch anything.
[01:34:18] And how many passes no drop in his career?
[01:34:21] Probably not that many I don't think he ever played a game when it was like negative Jesus either.
[01:34:26] I don't know but he dropped a lot of passes.
[01:34:29] But I run because one of those guy cut because he got behind in the preseason but he you know Kelsey dropped the passes he made up for it.
[01:34:38] But that's because it's Kelsey but if great drops those passes he's not in the line up to next week so I think Kansas City has like limited their skill position playmakers.
[01:34:51] So to the point where it's like Baltimore just can lock in on Kelsey.
[01:34:57] Locking on Gray and watching is I know Watson's probably he's probably way better.
[01:35:03] I'm gonna check all the average six yards of Perry last week you know yeah and but that's cool.
[01:35:09] I'll give you a check oh six.
[01:35:12] I'm not giving you no gray I'm not giving you watching I'm not giving you.
[01:35:22] Kelsey of Kansas seven who outside of the states of Kansas Missouri maybe Nebraska thought that the chiefs were being the AFC championship game right now.
[01:35:35] I think people I didn't because I stuck okay the Miami choice was because I felt as if they were going to lose their first playoff game because of a lack of weapons the weather affected to a to the point it.
[01:35:55] I don't know how he physically felt I remember February 2001 I'm stationed shepherd I'm a textual saying time drain drop 2001.
[01:36:08] So we're there we're in shepherd we're doing a blues we're doing a command is inspection we do a blues inspection and our blues uniform outside.
[01:36:18] And then we inspect our rooms what everybody at the base training through away their trench coats I don't know why everyone seem to do it so you had to be uniform if you're going to be in a flight.
[01:36:29] So I think it's not there in a cold seven AM freezing cold.
[01:36:34] It sucked it adversely affected me because it was very cold but it was a couple of guys from Puerto Rico that needed blankets and hugs when we got back into building.
[01:36:45] It was like people wrapping them at blankets laying on top of them because the way that cold impacted them was different than me to look like that cold was impacting him.
[01:36:58] So yeah I think it was like third down I don't know if he threw a bad pass or an incomplete pass but you know normally on third down the quarterback cries for a holding call.
[01:37:10] Illegal contact something that says I'm upset that we didn't get this man to walk that straight to the sideline got the coat set on a bench he wanted no parts of it to a McDaniel had a look on their face the whole game that said how could you have the audacity to do it.
[01:37:28] I think it's a good thing to make us play for Daniel's face was so red it was like it was like I don't know how like I said the coldest day I can recall working outside was like negative 15 maybe negative 20 real field out here in Jersey but I'm layered up.
[01:37:45] I'm a truck out there we had a heater card it was breaking we had to get a new one but I was gloves on stand and later on car it was cold.
[01:37:55] But yeah it looked like tool was just not he wasn't ready for that moment the Buffalo the Buffalo game he just I mean Josh Allen kind of did Josh Allen things where he's just he missed a couple plays and we highlight them excessively because you know they were always a September Super Bowl champions.
[01:38:14] So them being Miami and Buffalo wasn't like crazy them being Baltimore and Baltimore thinking that Kansas City is going to beat him.
[01:38:26] Yeah it's not logical to think that it would happen but this is sports you know it wasn't logical to think that the US hockey team was going to win that game in 1980 it wasn't logical to think that anything that like I said
[01:38:43] that anything that like to think that Earl Spence was going to beat up that way like none of this stuff is logical like things just happened like you know and I'm not saying that that you should expect Kansas City to win.
[01:38:55] What I'm saying is the same thing that you said when Buffalo's down 14 to 3 you feel like Josh Allen is going to get a score right there with Patrick Mahomes see think about what you said you feel like Josh Allen's going
[01:39:11] when Patrick Mahomes get the ball you know he's going to do something.
[01:39:15] But that's the thing the reason I feel Josh Allen is going to do anything because I think Josh Allen is going to sacrifice his physical health
[01:39:24] to get you that touchdown my home is not going to sacrifice his body for that touchdown.
[01:39:30] He's got to get a lot of pressure.
[01:39:33] And he's running into that cover three zone and he's running to all three linebackers or two linebackers in the corner when it's at the seven yard bark and he's going to just propel
[01:39:45] him so forward to get that first down I think that about Josh Allen I don't really think he's going to be able to just when you a bunch of games that way I just feel like when he gets the ball back down
[01:39:57] 133 he's going to be able to get you a touchdown with patch of my homes.
[01:40:03] I think he knows if you get to this spot I'm going to put the ball on you.
[01:40:11] I don't think he ever waivers on his arm strength his accuracy his understanding of coverage the issue that have always had is that that's what they're dangerous.
[01:40:22] They in the end of the couple of catches last week that you did not see the water.
[01:40:29] Can't you come in this game when MDS made a couple he made a couple of catches last week that I know and I wasn't sitting on a couch with you but when he made that catch
[01:40:42] you thought to yourself why do you catch the ball like that all year it was a few plays where he I was like he caught that going to the ground back shoulder on the sideline or in his face being interfered with he was dropping wide open passes all year right I can't count on that to happen again in two days or three days
[01:41:08] I can count on Lamar dropping back and then seeing this man coverage and scurry and out for eight yards on third and seven.
[01:41:20] I can count on that and that's why I'm picking Baltimore to win but to act like Kansas City doesn't have a chance like I didn't say didn't have a chance I just think that Baltimore is just operating consistently
[01:41:37] I don't I think Kansas City needs the mistakes I think they need because step on this is really what I have a second in mind so that could happen but they need it to happen they actually have they have to have that happen if it does not happen it's not the same game it's the it's the Denver game.
[01:42:01] Denver when they lost a Denver 24 to 9 at Kansas City against Russell Wilson it's because Russell Wilson went like 9 for 14 for 132 yards on Cree super efficient no one made the mistake there was no fumble there was no turnover there was no muffle fumble there was no blown coverages it's like all four can't start the first half the way they started the first half against Houston
[01:42:28] if they go in a halftime 1010 I think they'll still be fun I think if they go into that happy interesting for the NFL but I just I think they go into halftime at 10 or so something like that against Kansas City there's big trouble coming I'm not saying that means Kansas City is going to win I'm just saying that I think this is going to be a dog fight that goes down to the final possession I would not be surprised if Baltimore wanted by double digits I wouldn't either
[01:42:56] I don't know if I want to pick it because of playoff game and we've only seen my homes in one playoff game lose by double digits and I was a super-oda time Brady but no one predicted that well that was because of the line yeah that was all coupled with the fact that it was something that he ran like 400 yards behind a lot of scrimmage yeah in that game
[01:43:17] but I could see I could see a scenario where Baltimore was this game 27 13 and it's not close there's not close to whole game I can see that scenario playing out and I'm pretty sure that a prime time game and then San Francisco Detroit is the first one even though it's early right so yeah but that's where we are you know I think it's going to be good I think both games are going to be I think both games are going to be good I think both games are going to be good
[01:43:46] I think both games are going to come down to the wire I'm my ribs tomorrow start marrying the most Saturday you know I said there you go but Joe ladies and gentlemen he is that's the logical your first live show everybody that's in the comments everybody has sent it to sat on the charts
